'An Actual Miracle': Multiple Church Sites Burned Down in L.A. but One Remarkable Story Stands Out
Firefighters are still at a critical stage in the now six-day battle against deadly wildfires in the greater Los Angeles area. The wind-fed fires have swept through 40,000 acres and killed at least 24 people. As of Sunday, they are only 13 percent contained. Once-bustling cities like Palisades and Altadena look more like war zones now with an estimated $20 billion of property damaged. More than 200,000 residents have been evacuated and are now safe, but much of their precious community lies in ashes including their houses of worship. The wildfires destroyed Altadena Community Church and several homes owned by members of the congregation, which had about 60 people, pastor Rev. Paul Tellström said. "It's shocking," said Tellström. "It's a reminder to us of all of the fragility of life. The church posted images of the damage on Facebook writing, "WE are the church! We can worship anywhere. This is a big blow, but it will not impede our progress," Tellström said. "The most important takeaway is that we are the church — not the building." Altadena United Methodist Church also burned down, Rev. J. Andre reported. "Our building is gone," he wrote. "But YOU and US, are the church."

Meanwhile, one Palisades church says it is bearing "witness to the goodness of God" in the midst of the chaos, thanking Him that most of their house of worship escaped the deadly fire. Justin Anderson, lead pastor of Calvary Church of Pacific Palisades, shared video and images on social media showing the 70,000-square-foot structure, which included the church and the adjoining school, mostly undamaged. "If you are tracking the LA fires at all, you might know that the worst of it is in the Palisades. In fact, the fire started just about a mile from the church and put the church (and the adjoining school) in immediate danger," he wrote in a thread on X.  The newly appointed pastor shared that after children were evacuated from the school and reunited with their families he trekked back to the building to assess the damage. "I was finally able to get back to the church this afternoon to assess the damage. We've probably lost the sanctuary and will have to rebuild it. But miraculously the rest of the property is nearly untouched," he wrote. (CBN) Read more here.

Father, we are in awe of Your mercy and compassion as we lift praise to You for the stories in Los Angeles that bring glimmers of HOPE to our hearts and minds. We celebrate the miraculous saving of Calvary Church and declare it will stand as a beacon of light, soothing comfort and as a center for provision within the neighborhood and surrounding communities. May Your Name be lifted high as the church brings glory to You through servant believer's hands and feet. We decree Your plans and purposes will prevail and grieving hearts will be moved towards surrendering all to Jesus Christ. By the powerful Blood of the Lamb-Amen and Amen.

"The plans of the LORD stand firm forever, the purposes of His heart through all generations." (Psalm 33:11)

Abba, our hearts are full of gratitude for putting Your son, Donald, back in the White House as leader of our nation.  We thank you that You have gone before him and prepared the way for him to complete the work You have given him to do.  We ask for legions of warrior angels to surround and protect everyone involved in his inauguration weekend festivities.  Holy Spirit, we ask You to pour out Your presence and peace, allow all involved to be aware that there is something "different" about this change in our leadership.  We ask for Your anointing on Donald John Trump.  We ask You to provide everything he will need to govern in righteousness and integrity.  We ask this in the name Jehovah Tsidkenu, The Lord Our Righteousness.

Iranian Army Takes Delivery of 1,000 Drones, Promises ‘Deadly Blows to the Enemy’
Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh says the new drones will allow Iran to ‘conquer the sky when necessary.’

The Iranian Army says it has taken delivery of 1,000 new drones equipped with stealth capabilities and designed to target enemy fortifications.

The Ababil-4 and Ababil-5 drones, which were designed by the Iranian defence ministry, were delivered to various locations throughout Iran, according to the semi-official Tasnim news agency.

Tasnim said the weapons were formally handed over to the armed forces on Jan. 13, at a ceremony attended by Iranian Army Commander Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi and Defence Minister Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh.

The state-owned IRNA news agency reported Nasirzadeh said the drones would enable Iran to, “conquer the sky when necessary and deliver deadly blows to the enemy.”

The unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), designed by defence ministry experts, include multipurpose strategic drones that can be used for reconnaissance, patrol missions, electronic warfare, data collection, and aerial combat. (The Epoch Times) Read more.

Abba, Your word speaks of "wars and rumors of wars", but You are still on the throne and still in control irrelevant of what "people" think.  We thank You that You are trustworthy to keep your promises, to keep us safe in the palm of Your hand.  Father God, we ask You to speak to the hearts of Iranian Defense Minister Masirzadeh and all other Iranian leadership, give them an awareness of how You see their actions.  Holy Spirit, pour out 'the fear of the Lord', let their spirits 'Know" who is speaking to them, change their minds and direction.  We ask this in the name Jehovah Sabaoth, The Host of Heaven's Armies, the God whose power allows Him to do all that He determines to do.

"The Lord frustrates the plans of the nations
and thwarts all of their schemes.
    But the Lord's plans stand firm forever;
his intentions can never be shaken."

Israel and Hamas reportedly reach ceasefire deal, hostage exchange

Conflicting but encouraging reports have emerged pertaining to a possible ceasefire and hostage exchange in the ongoing war in the Middle East.

Multiple outlets, including the Associated Press, have stated that the Israeli government and representatives from the Islamic terror group Hamas have agreed to halt fighting and swap prisoners.

“The deal, coming after weeks of painstaking negotiations in the Qatari capital, promises the release of dozens of hostages held by Hamas in phases, the release of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners in Israel and would allow hundreds of thousands of people displaced in Gaza to return to what remains of their homes,” the AP said earlier today.

But a crucial update from the outlet at 1:18 p.m. Eastern Standard Time announced that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said that a deal “has not been reached and that the final details were still being sorted out.”

The AP added that Netanyahu’s team was hopeful that something could be agreed to by Wednesday night.  (Lifesite News) Read more here.

Abba, we give You praise that negotiations for a deal to release the hostages is secured.  We ask Holy Spirit to move on all hearts involved in these final decisions, that all Your plans will be accomplished. Give the Israeli and US negotiators wisdom to accept only what You accept.  Give them courage to stand their ground and trust that You will speak to the hearts of Hamas leaders, that they will agree to what You decide.  We ask this in the name Jehovah Jireh, The Lord Will Provide.

"Wisdom will save you from evil people,
from those whose words are twisted."

[HIGH ALERT] Govt. Agencies Release Security Report Ahead Of Inauguration

Government agencies are beefing up security measures ahead of Donald Trump‘s inauguration ceremony on Monday, Jan. 20th.

While no specific credible threats have been identified, agencies like the FBI, Secret Service and Capitol Police authored a threat assessment asserting that extremists may view the inauguration as “their last opportunity to influence the election results through violence,” Politico reports

The threat assessment identified foreign terrorists, domestic extremists or inidividuals who could pull off violent acts, including vehicle-ramming attacks, bomb hoaxes or swatting calls.

Law enforcement officials also cited concerns about protests breaking into chaos, especially since certain groups who’ve faced arrests in previous protests have applied for demonstration permits.

Past protests by some of these individuals have involved traffic blockades, trespassing, property destruction, and resisting arrest,” the threat assessment said.

On Monday, U.S. Capitol Police Chief J. Thomas Manger cautioned that “lone actors” are the most serious threat to inauguration festivities, during a press conference with federal and local law enforcement officials about the inauguration.

“The biggest threat, I think, for all of us remains the lone actor,” Manger said. “Just in the past week, while President Carter was lying in state, we had two lone actors show up at the Capitol: one trying to bring in knives and a machete; another one who was trying – what I believe – to disrupt the proceedings by setting their car on fire down in the peace circle area.”

“Capitol Police were able to interdict these folks before they had a chance to do any harm,” Manger said. “But that threat of the lone actor remains the biggest justification for us being at this heightened state of alert throughout the next week.”

As a result, the inauguration will feature a higher law enforcement presence. Approximately 4,000 local law enforcement officers have volunteered to assist, and 7,800 National Guard soldiers will also be deployed. (American Liberty) Read more

Lord God, we decree Psalm 3 over all of President Trump's enemies:

IT IS WRITTEN:

Lord, how they have increased who trouble me!
Many are they who rise up against me.
Many are they who say of me,
“There is no help for him in God.” Selah

But You, O Lord, are a shield [a]for me,
My glory and the One who lifts up my head.
I cried to the Lord with my voice,
And He heard me from His holy hill.  (Psalm  3:1-4)

The name given to the preparations is “Operation Wings of Freedom,” or “Kanfei Dror” in Hebrew, the IDF said in a statement.

Trump announced on Wednesday that Israel and Hamas had agreed to a ceasefire and hostage release deal during talks in Doha.

Israeli officials said on Wednesday that there has been a breakthrough in the negotiations to reach a deal with the Hamas terror organization to return the Israeli hostages. "We're working on tying up the last loose ends before a final agreement," the officials stated, noting that the agreement will most probably be signed later in the evening or on Thursday.

On the seventh day of the deal, four hostages will be released, on the 14th, 21st, 28th, and 35th days three will be released, and during the final week, the remaining 14 hostages will be released.

12:52 a.m.: MK Tzvi Sukkot (Religious Zionist Party) commented on the hostage release deal in a post he published on X.

"Let it be clear: If the State of Israel surrenders to Hamas and this deal leads to the cessation of the war without achieving its goals – in my view, there is no reason to continue the partnership in the government," wrote Sukkot.

5. Israel to Send Fire Protection Experts to Los Angeles - Jewish Press

(TPS) As Los Angeles battles devastating wildfires, Israeli emergency experts shared their insights after tackling hundreds of fires sparked by Hezbollah rocket barrages in the past year.

Fires in the Los Angeles area have killed 25 people and destroyed at least 12,000 buildings. Thousands of residents were ordered to evacuate and around 770,000 homes were without electricity as utility companies shut down power in certain areas as a precaution. The fires spread quickly because of high winds and drought conditions. Winds are forecast to increase on Wednesday with gusts reaching as high as 102 km/h.

Israel’s Fire and Rescue Authority said on Wednesday it would dispatch a team of five fire protection experts to the U.S. to provide assistance. (Read more

1. White House removes Cuba's state sponsor of terrorism designation, reversing Trump administration move - Fox News

The Biden administration lifted Cuba's designation as a state sponsor of terrorism on Tuesday, reversing a move made by the Trump administration in 2021. The decision, which is reportedly part of a Catholic Church-sponsored deal to free political prisoners in Cuba, was first reported by the Associated Press on Tuesday.

In a certification that Biden issued later Tuesday afternoon, he claimed that the Cuban government "has not provided any support for international terrorism during the preceding 6-month period," as well as "provided assurances that it will not support acts of international terrorism in the future."

"The United States maintains as the core objective of our policy the need for more freedom and democracy, improved respect for human rights, and increased free enterprise in Cuba.," a national security memo issued by the White House read. "Achieving these goals will require practical engagement with Cuba and the Cuban people beyond what is outlined in NSPM-5 [National Security Presidential Memorandum 5], and that takes into account recent developments in Cuba and the changing regional and global context." 2. LA wildfire death toll rises to 24 — Eaton blaze now fifth-deadliest in California’s history - New York Post

The death toll from the still-raging Los Angeles wildfires has risen to 24 people with at least 16 still missing, according to a tragic update from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner Sunday evening. The majority of the victims — 16 — were killed in the Eaton Fire, while eight were killed by the Palisades Fire — the two largest of the fires devouring the county. With the new death toll, the Eaton Fire is now the fifth-deadliest wildfire in California’s history

Only two of the victims, 84-year-old Charles Mortimer and 66-year-old Victor Shaw, have been identified in the update. Mortimer died in the hospital of smoke inhalation and thermal injuries and Shaw died of the same cause outside his Altadena home, according to the medical examiner.

Shaw’s burned remains were found with a garden hose still in his hands as family members said he stayed behind to try to save his home of 55 years. At least seven other people have been identified by the public and other local departments so far. (Read more)

3. Mark Zuckerberg details Biden admin censorship on Joe Rogan podcast - Straight Arrow News

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has criticizedthe Biden administration’s approach to social media content moderation. He described the pressure his company faced from the White House during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Speaking on Joe Rogan’s podcast, Zuckerberg detailed instances where government officials demanded the removal of certain posts. They include content he described as humorous or truthful. “These people from the Biden administration would call up our team and, like, scream at them and curse,” Zuckerberg said on the show. “And they’re like, ‘No, you have to take that down.'”

Zuckerberg cited one example involving a meme featuring actor Leonardo DiCaprio. It implied that COVID-19 vaccine recipients might later qualify for a class-action lawsuit.
According to Zuckerberg, despite requests from the Biden administration to remove the meme, Meta declined to do so, with their CEO stating, “We’re not going to take down humor.” (Read more)

- Lord, thank you for the truth being revealed that critical information was indeed suppressed on social media and the media. We pray that accountability would be had for this attack on freedom of speech. Still, we thank You for the freedom of speech that we have here in America. 5. O’Keefe busts adviser embedded in Pentagon, who brags about plot to ‘protect people from Trump’ - DML News

Investigative journalist James O’Keefe has now busted an official working inside the Biden-Harris administration’s Pentagon, who has touted that he’s involved in a plot to “protect people from Trump.”

O’Keefe released a new undercover video Tuesday evening, featuring Jamie Mannina, a senior adviser at the Defense Department.  Mannina is also a former FBI special agent, and a former special assistant to Hillary Clinton, both during her term as a U.S. Senator and in the State Department.

Once again, as is typical with O’Keefe’s undercover busts, Mannina is spilling the beans while seated inside a restaurant.  He says he works “at this top consulting firm,” which O’Keefe reveals is Booz Allen Hamilton, a business management firm in McLean, Virginia. (Read more)

- Lord God, we pray that anyone that is in the government that is working to prohibit the new administration from working on behalf of the American public, we pray that they would be exposed and brought to light right now in the name of Jesus. We pray for spirit of unity within our government that everybody works together to make true change happen for our country and every citizen in Jesus' name amen.

- “I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought.” (1 Corinthians 1:10)
6. LAFD bosses sent just 5 fire engines to Palisades Fire — while holding back 1,000 firefighters and 35 trucks in critical first hours - DML News

First, we learned that over half of the Los Angeles Fire Department’s firetrucks are sitting in a parking lot awaiting repairs, and not available to help fight the deadly wildfires that have ravaged the city.

Now, another report reveals that the Los Angeles Fire Department at first didn’t even use a fraction of the firetrucks they DID have available.

From the New York PostLos Angeles fire bosses deployed just fraction of its firefighters and trucks to the deadly Palisades Fire until it was already out of control — sending just five of the 40 available fire engines and holding back 1,000 firefighters, according to a damning new report.

The critical decisions — blasted by experts and ex-fire chiefs as a spate of “missteps” — were made even as extreme warnings were coming in about life-threatening winds that turned the blaze into the most destructive in Los Angeles history. “You would have had a better chance to get a better result if you deployed those engines,” former LAFD Battalion Chief Rick Crawford told the Los Angeles Times. (Read more)

- We pray Lord that all these bad decisions would be investigated and exposed in Jesus name. This doesn’t add up and there is no reason why this state was not properly prepared. We cry out for justice for the lives of everyone who has lost a home, businesses, or loved ones from such negligence. Help all these people Lord as they grieve and walk through the process of healing in Jesus Christ's name. Amen.

- "So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most." (Hebrews 4:16)

Stupidocrisy: LA Fires Among Other Things

The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, January 15, 2025

It truly is a firestorm over Los Angeles. Sadly, lives, homes, businesses are going up in flames. It would appear that the entire state of California can take some blame. President-elect Donald Trump points the finger at Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom, who refused to allow excess rain and water from snow to flow to the southern areas of the state because he wanted to preserve the smelt fish. The fire hydrants in LA are essentially dry and the first openly LGBTQ fire chief Kristen Crowley is taking heat for putting gay pride and Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) over making sure the city is protected. The firefighting budget was cut while the DEI budget received over a million-dollar increase.  Now it’s hell in LA.

LA’s Democratic mayor Karen Bass had flown off with members of the Biden Administration on a taxpayer-funded junket to Ghana, West Africa to attend the inauguration of President John Dramani. Meantime, her city was burning. At the airport upon her return, she was asked multiple times by Sky News, “Do you owe citizens an apology for being absent whilst their homes were burning? Do you regret cutting the fire department’s budget?” Bass proposed a $23 million cut in the fire department budget, but she only got a $17.6 million cut from the city council. Others say the city is spending billions on housing for illegal immigrants and the homeless while there is no money or water for fire prevention. Read More

Iran And Russia To Sign Strategic Partnership
On January 17, Iranian President  is to arrive in Moscow to sign a comprehensive strategic partnership agreement with .

In addition, Moscow and Tehran plan to negotiate on regional and international issues.

Both countries’ representatives are expected to discuss the prospects for further expansion of bilateral cooperation, particularly in trade and investment, transport and logistics, and humanitarian spheres.

In addition, Moscow and Tehran plan to negotiate on regional and international issues.

It is reported that on the eve of this meeting, an adviser to the Iranian supreme leader repeatedly paid secret visits to Russia. He could have asked for help in implementing the nuclear program, according to the MT. (Moscow Times)

It’s also mentioned that has recently suffered greatly from Israel’s actions and the overthrow of the Bashar al-Assad regime in Syria.

Ali Larijani, a senior adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has flown to Russia several times to meet with high-ranking officials in an effort to secure assistance in implementing its nuclear program and strengthening its air defense, according to the article.

Tehran is counting on increased cooperation in the nuclear sphere, where Russia has so far only helped to ensure the operation of nuclear power plants, sources in Western intelligence services told the newspaper.

“As their strategic relationship deepens and Russia becomes dependent on Iranian missiles and drones, there are concerns that Moscow is ready to cross its previously established red lines on Iran’s nuclear program,” a Western intelligence official told the MT. (American Liberty News) Read more here.

Abba, thank You that You are Lord over all things, that nothing takes You by surprise.  We stand in faith and say that we trust You in this place of Iran and Russia's strategic partnership, that You already have a plan in place to manage and respond to whatever this partnership might bring within world events.  Father God, we ask for wisdom as world leaders react to this new agreement, may Your peace and calm prevail.  We ask this in the name Jehovah Shalom, The Lord our Peace.

- "I listen carefully to what God the Lord is saying,
for he speaks peace to his faithful people.
But let them not return to their foolish ways.
Surely his salvation is near to those who fear him,
so our land will be filled with his glory."

5 Key Takeaways From Pete Hegseth’s Confirmation Hearing

Pete Hegseth appeared before the Senate Armed Services Committee on Jan. 14 to make his case to become the next secretary of the Defense Department.

Hegseth was the first of roughly a dozen of President-elect Donald Trump’s appointees slated to go before Senate committees this week and is considered one of the more controversial Cabinet selections.

That fact was on full display as Hegseth entered the crowded Senate chamber to raucous applause and chants of “U.S.A.” that were quickly followed by angry cries and accusations of support for genocide in the Middle East.

Such polarization continued through the single round of questioning afforded to lawmakers. Democrats pressed Hegseth on his professional experience and personal failings, while Republicans praised him for condemning “woke” politics in the military.

Here are some of the key takeaways from the hearing. (The Epoch Times) Go here.

- Lord God we cover this man in the blood of Jesus as he has a huge task at hand. We pray he turns to you for wisdom, strength and direction. We pray he brings justice to his department that all that was destroyed would be rebuilt to greatness in Jesus' name amen.

- "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will
strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.  “All who rage against you will surely be ashamed and disgraced; those who oppose you will be as nothing and perish.  Though you search for your enemies, you will not find them. Those who wage war against you will be as nothing at all.  For I am the LORD your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you."  (Isaiah 41:10-13)

SpaceX launches 2 private lunar landers to the moon (video, photos)

CAPE CANAVERAL, Florida — Get ready, moon: Two private landers have made it to space and will soon be headed your way!

The two lunar landers — Firefly Aerospace's Blue Ghost and Resilience, built by the Japanese company ispace — lifted off aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket early this morning (Jan. 15) from NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) here on Florida's Space Coast.

The Falcon 9 launched at 1:11 a.m. EST (0611 GMT) beneath a full moon and a clear, starry sky. The rocket's first stage came back to Earth as planned, touching down on SpaceX's "Just Read the Instructions" droneship, stationed miles offshore in the Atlantic Ocean, about 8.5 minutes after liftoff.

The rocket's second stage continued onward and upward as planned, delivering Blue Ghost to a lunar transfer orbit about 65 minutes after launch and deploying Resilience 27 minutes later.

This Blue Ghost flight, named Ghost Riders in the Sky, is Firefly's first mission to the moon and is part of NASA's Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS) program. The lander is carrying 10 NASA research and technology payloads designed to further the space agency's understanding of the lunar environment, as it plans to send astronauts back to the moon as a part of the Artemis Program.

This is the second mission that ispace has flown to the moon; the company's' Hakuto-R lander made it to lunar orbit in March 2023 but crashed during its touchdown attempt a month later. Read More
