Weiss Report: Hunter’s drug use can’t explain away not paying taxes on money earned by 'last name'
|
|
Special Counsel David Weiss' final report on his years-long investigation into Hunter Biden determined the first son's drug abuse could not explain away not paying taxes on millions of dollars of income earned off of his "last name and connections."
"As a well-educated lawyer and businessman, Mr. Biden consciously and willfully chose not to pay at least $1.4 million in taxes over a four-year period. From 2016 to 2020, Mr. Biden received more than $7 million in total gross income, including approximately $1.5 million in 2016, $2.3 million in 2017, $2.1 million in 2018, $1 million in 2019 and $188,000 from January through October 15, 2020," Weiss wrote in his final report, which was released Monday.
"Mr. Biden made this money by using his last name and connections to secure lucrative business opportunities, such as a board seat at a Ukrainian industrial conglomerate, Burisma Holdings Limited, and a joint venture with individuals associated with a Chinese energy conglomerate. He negotiated and executed contracts and agreements that paid him millions of dollars for limited work," Weiss continued.
Hunter Biden, 54, had a busy year in court last year, when he was convicted of two separate federal cases prosecuted by Weiss. He kicked off his first trial in Delaware in June, when he faced three felony firearm offenses involving his drug use, before pleading guilty in a separate felony tax case in September. Maria Shriver calls out LA mayor amid fires, says city 'cannot go forward with the status quo'
|
|
Journalist and former first lady of California, Maria Shriver, warned "LA residents deserve better" than their current Democratic leadership.
Many people, including celebrities, have lost their homes in the Pacific Palisades area as wildfires continue to rage there and elsewhere in Los Angeles County, burning more than 27,000 acres, destroying over 10,000 structures and killing multiple people, according to local officials.
Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass has faced condemnation for her trip to Ghana last week, which meant she was thousands of miles away from her city during the initial day of the destruction on Tuesday.
She also faced a blistering critique from LA Fire Chief Kristin Crowley, who said as she spoke with Jake Tapper on CNN, that "Over the last 3 years, we have been clear that the fire department needs help", and emphasized how "understaffed, under-resourced, and underfunded the LAFD is." She claimed, "I rang the bell that these additional cuts could be very very devastating for our ability to provide public safety." (Fox News) Read more here.

Father, we pray for the leaders of Los Angeles and California to be held liable for their highly irresponsible management of the city and state. We pray for righteous leadership to arise from these ashes to lead this state back into a moral and Godly footing so that citizens can live in the knowledge of Jesus Christ as Lord in this state. We also pray for the perverse and corrupt agents that have been operating under cover there to be dismantled and rooted out because of God's purifying fires and the only place they can go is to prison in repentance, in Jesus name.

'Lone actors' are greatest safety threat during Trump's inauguration: Capitol Police chief
|
|
"Lone actors" pose the greatest threat to safety during the upcoming presidential inauguration events, according to U.S. Capitol Police Chief J. Thomas Manger. He referenced two incidents last week on Capitol Hill where people sought to "disrupt" congressional proceedings with potentially violent tactics.
An estimated 250,000 ticketed guests will attend the formal inauguration on Jan. 20, according to law enforcement.
That will be supplemented by another 25,000, who law enforcement expect will attend various demonstrations going on around the Capitol on Inauguration Day. The inauguration and its accompanying events have been designated a "National Special Security Event," the highest federal protective status an event can receive, authorities said.
"The biggest threat, I think, for all of us remains the lone actor," Manger said Monday. "Just in the past week, while President Carter was lying in state, we had two lone actors show up at the Capitol: one trying to bring in knives and a machete; another one who was trying – what I believe – to disrupt the proceedings by setting their car on fire down in the peace circle area."
"Capitol Police were able to interdict these folks before they had a chance to do any harm. But that threat of the lone actor remains the biggest justification for us being at this heightened state of alert throughout the next week." (Fox News) Read more

We ask You to shine a blinding spotlight on every "lone actor" that has plans for harm and hobble them in their blindness, that they can do no harm and are arrested in their tracks, in Jesus name.

1. 6 terrorists eliminated in airstrike in Jenin - Israel NationaLNews
The IAF carried out an airstrike in the Jenin area on Tuesday evening in an operation, the details of which have not yet been cleared for publication.
A joint statement from the IDF and Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) stated that "in a joint operation by the IDF and Shin Bet, an IAF aircraft struck a short time ago in the Jenin area in the area of the Menashe Brigade, additional details to follow."
This is the first IDF attack in the area in about a month and a half. The security establishment has refrained from operating in the Jenin sector where Palestinian Authority security forces were operating against terrorist elements in Jenin.
The PA health ministry reported that six people were killed and several injured in the Israeli airstrike. (Read more)

2. Israeli lawmakers split on ceasefire deal, hostage release terms - World Israel News
Knesset members were divided over an emerging ceasefire and hostage agreement with Hamas on Tuesday. Supporters insisted it was necessary to bring the captives home as soon as possible while critics said the deal threatened Israeli security.
“All our hostages must be returned in one operation,” Likud MK Tali Gottlieb insisted to The Press Service of Israel.
“I’m not debating the cost, and as long as Herzi Halevi remains Chief of Staff [of the Israel Defense Forces], he won’t allow Hamas to be defeated. Instead, he continues with raids rather than conquest and control of enemy territory,” she added.
“So, it has to be all or nothing. No phased releases, no steps. Either everyone returns, or no one does. Hamas can wait for Trump’s presidency, when we will impose such a heavy siege on them that they will beg to return our hostages.” (Read more)

3. Israeli foreign minister says we must see real change among Palestinians to achieve peace - Jerusalem Post
Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar accused the Palestinian Authority on Tuesday of encouraging terrorism and inciting violence against Israel, saying that its policies were standing in the way of achieving peace.
"For this, we must see a deep and real change among Palestinians. Unfortunately we are not seeing it today," he said at a news conference with Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani in Rome.
Saar added that he believed there would be a majority in the government to support a Gaza hostage deal if one is finally agreed, despite vocal opposition from hardline nationalist parties in the coalition.
"I believe that if we achieve this hostage deal, we will have a majority in the government that will support the agreement," he said in a press conference in Rome with Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani. (Read more)

4. Netanyahu makes offer to right-wing ministers to support hostage deal, save gov’t - World Israel News
Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has offered a deal to cabinet members who oppose the hostage deal, provided that they remain in the government, according to Kan news reports.
National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich threatened to leave the government over their disagreement with the current hostage release plan.
On Tuesday, Netanyahu offered the ministers, among other things, tightened security and increased construction in Judea and Samaria.
Ben Gvir had threatened to leave the government over his opposition to the hostage deal and invited Smotrich to do the same. (Read more)

5. National Security Council warns Israelis of escalating Iranian kidnapping plots - World Israel News
Israel’s National Security Council warned citizens of escalating Iranian efforts to harm Israelis abroad on Tuesday. This follows an incident in which Iranian operatives attempted to lure an Israeli businessman to the United Arab Emirates for a potential kidnapping.
According to the NSC, Iranian agents posing as representatives of Al-Arabiya Farsi, the Persian-language branch of a Saudi media outlet, contacted the businessman via Telegram.
Claiming they sought an interview about the Iranian regime, they invited the Israeli to a meeting in Dubai. The agents also sent malicious files designed to access his mobile phone.
But the businessman became suspicious and reported the contact to the National Intelligence Service, whose investigation confirmed the plot. (Read more)

1. Speaker Orders Capitol Flags Raised for Trump Inauguration - Newsmax
Flags at the U.S. Capitol will be raised to full-staff on Inauguration Day to celebrate President-elect Donald Trump's return to the White House, House Speaker Mike Johnson announced Tuesday.
Johnson's order will temporarily suspend President Joe Biden's proclamation that flags across the U.S. fly at half-staff until late January to honor former President Jimmy Carter, who died Dec. 29.
"On January 20th, the flags at the Capitol will fly at full-staff to celebrate our country coming together behind the inauguration of our 47th President, Donald Trump," Johnson posted Tuesday morning on X.
"The flags will be lowered back to half-staff the following day to continue honoring President Jimmy Carter."
On Monday, Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott ordered all flags to be raised to full-staff at the Texas Capitol and all state buildings on Monday. (Read more)

2. Deep State gearing up: Huge number of federal employees in the swamp plan to resist Trump - WND
A surprising number of federal government employees admit they are gearing up to act like a deep state, opposing the incoming second administration of Donald Trump.
Most Americans, even many of the elites who voted for Vice President Kamala Harris, are willing to support Trump's administration, according to an RMG Research survey commissioned by the Napolitan Institute. Yet 42% of federal government managers who work in the Washington, D.C., swamp intend to work against the administration.
RMG Research conducted three surveys in mid-December to study three different segments of the population. The polling firm focused on what it calls the Elite 1% who have postgraduate degrees, earn more than $150,000 annually, and live in densely populated areas; Main Street Americans who meet none of these three criteria and who represent between 70% and 75% of the U.S. population; and Federal Government Managers—federal employees who live in the National Capitol Region around Washington and earn at least $75,000 annually.
Main Street Americans tend to have less faith in government and want more freedom for Americans, while the Elite 1% tend to have more faith in government and say Americans have too much freedom. Main Street Americans tend to look down on the idea of a deep state opposing the people's elected president. (Read more)

3. Ohio Governor Signs Bill That ‘Puts Parents Back in Charge’ of Children’s Education - Washington Stand
Liberal activist teachers in a pivotal state will no longer be able to socially transition children, present explicit sexual materials or controversial transgender concepts to minors, or deny students the right to attend church services or receive religious instruction.
Ohio Governor Mike DeWine (R) signed the “Parents’ Bill of Rights” (H.B. 8) into law rather than face another veto override from his conservative Republican state legislature over protecting children from the influence of radical gender ideology. The State House of Representatives passed the bill 57-31 — introduced by Rep. D. J. Swearingen (R-89) and former State Rep. Sara P. Carruthers (R-47) — and the state Senate backed the legislation by a 24-7 vote in late December.
A child’s parents are their “first teachers. They’re the best teachers — and that’s very, very important,” said DeWine. Parents who have information about their children’s struggles to embrace their God-given gender identity are also “the most likely people to help that child.”
Pro-family leaders praised the legislation, which aims to empower parents to continue to exercise their prerogatives — and stop “progressive” educators from encroaching on their values. “This critical legislation safeguards children from secret social transition by ensuring school officials do not hide crucial information from parents about their child’s mental health and well-being,” said Matt Sharp, director of the Alliance Defending Freedom’s Center for Public Policy, in a statement emailed to The Washington Stand. “It increases parental involvement in their child’s education by letting parents opt their child out of objectionable sexual content. This is an excellent turn-around in the state of Ohio, restoring the authority of parents to protect and defend the purity and innocence of their children, without having to fight the state and realm of education. We pray for all parents in Ohio to be keenly aware of their freedom to parent and protect their kids. We also call for the school systems to obey the law and everyone that seeks to break it is found out, removed and if necessary, prosecuted, in Jesus name. May other states follow suit and protect parents guarding the upbringing of their children, in Jesus name.

4. WSJ: California Fires Due to Bad Politics, Not Climate Change - Breitbart
Attempts to pin the catastrophic California wildfires on the bogeyman of “climate change” are a deflection from the real culprits, the Wall Street Journal editorial board wrote Monday. The climate left is desperately trying to “change the subject from the failure of the state and local government to contain the fires that often accompany Santa Ana winds,” the WSJ editors note.
The op-ed first dismantles the ridiculous claim that climate change somehow caused the conflagration and then shows how state and local governments, and Gov. Gavin Newsom in particular, have abdicated their important role of protecting California residents from wildfire. The editors proceed to reproduce a chart from the California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment that shows precipitation in the state going back 130 or so years. The chart does not show a trend but rather recurring wet and dry spells, with the latter being especially prevalent in the 1910s and 1920s “when carbon emissions were far less than they are today,” the editors explain.
While climate is ever changing, “variable rain and snowfall patterns in California are to be expected,” the editors write, and fires “will occur as a result.” “Rather than blame the climate for wildfires,” they suggest, “the obligation of public officials should be to prepare for them and, when they inevitably occur, mitigate the damage.” (Read more)

5. North Korean Soldiers Captured by Ukraine Are Ordinary Humans Made in God’s Image - Washington Stand
Last fall, U.S. and South Korean intelligence agencies noticed North Korean soldiers secretly entering Russia to reinforce the deadly stalemate between Russia and Ukraine. Apparently, the North Korean military kept the secret even from their own soldiers. When dictators conspire for conquest, ordinary human beings bear most of the cost.
Two North Korean soldiers captured by Ukraine give a humanizing picture to agents of the hermit kingdom. One soldier suffered from a face wound, the other a broken leg. One soldier carried a false Russian military ID, while the other had no identification at all. Neither knew that they were fighting in Ukraine.
The capture of these prisoners of war is noteworthy because these are the first North Korean soldiers Ukraine has captured alive. On orders from their government, wounded soldiers have killed themselves or been killed by their comrades rather than be captured. “Due to their ideological mindset and indoctrination, they simply lack the concept of surrendering,” Ukrainian military spokesman Oleksandr Kindratenko suggested.
According to these estimates, between 12% to 40% of the 10,000 North Koreans training in Russia in October have already become casualties of war. Footage from Ukrainian war drones shows the soldiers “under duress, frightened, or confused,” The Wall Street Journal summarized, either cowering in place or trying to outrun the drones on foot across open country. Jesus, we cry out for freedom for the people of North Korea from the tyrannical family of leaders that have enslaved every single human being in that country. We know that nevertheless, there are people there who choose to follow You at the risk of their very lives and their generations. O King of King, would You please extend mercy to them and protect their worship. We pray also for the soldiers to hear and know the truth of where they are and what they are doing, so that they would be able to go free, in Jesus' name.

6. ‘We Will Do a Yellowcake’: Saudi Arabia Wants to Enrich Uranium - Breitbart
The energy minister of Saudi Arabia announced on Monday that the country has plans to make “yellowcake,” a uranium concentrate used as nuclear power plant fuel, and sell enriched uranium to the world.
“We will enrich it and we will sell it and we will do a ‘yellowcake,’” Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman declared, speaking to an energy conference in the country, according to the Saudi news outlet Al Arabiya.
Saudi officials have openly discussed the possibility of developing a nuclear program – both for peaceful and military reasons – for over a decade. While they have limited themselves to suggesting they would develop nuclear weapons only in the event that rival Iran announces it has successfully built its own bomb, peaceful nuclear energy development has become a recurring theme in public conversations on diversifying Saudi Arabia’s oil-dependent economy.
Chatter regarding the Saudis developing their own nuclear program, including building nuclear power plants, increased following the implementation of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’ “Vision 2030” program, intended to protect the Saudi economy by moving beyond oil dependence. Perhaps the most sensational “Vision 2030” project, the to-be-built “green” megacity “Neom,” will allegedly only run on green energy, potentially requiring its own nuclear facilities. (Read more)

Righteous God, we pray for these nuclear ambitions to be tempered by Your divine intervention. If these plans for the "yellow cake" nuclear weapon material to be created and sold openly move forward, above and beyond nuclear power plants for peaceful purposes, then we ask You to intervene and stop them immediately, in Jesus name. Let there be no nuclear war in the Middle East or anywhere we pray. Amen.

The Shame of NY Lawfare in Persecuting Trump

The persecution of Donald Trump by the corrupt New York Democratic Party machine is unquestionably one of the most horrendous miscarriages of justice in American history. Democrats persecuted Trump by twisting the intent of laws, selectively allowing evidence in court, conjuring up crimes when there were no crimes, and imposed excessive fines. The entire force of the New York legal system was leveled at Trump to prevent him from being elected as President. Judge Juan Merchan “Unconditional Discharge” sentence of Trump is akin to a communist show trial, saying “we put Trump through all this and nothing has come of it, but we want to damage him forever anyway.” New York should be ashamed.
In February 2024, Democrat NY judge Arthur Engoron fined Trump and his companies $355 million for inflating his wealth in financial statements to banks—even though no criminal laws were broken and the banks suffered no financial losses. Trump’s sons also were fined $4 million and were barred from being officers of NY companies for two years. Some of Trump’s companies were barred from doing business in NY. This case, and others resulting in multi-million dollar fines, was resulted from lawsuits by NY Democrat Attorney General Letitia James. Trump was earlier ordered by another NY court to pay $83.3 million to writer E. Jean Carroll for defamation after she accused Trump of sexually assaulting her in the 1990’s. Read More

On Jan. 5, President Joe Biden signed a law that represents a giveaway to retirees who already have generous state-provided pension benefits.
While union leaders are cheering the bill as a win for their members, it’s a bad deal for the rest of us. It will undermine the progressive nature of the Social Security program, cost taxpayers billions and force painful cuts down the road.
The new bill itself is short and simple, less than 300 words. In a clever bit of marketing, the sponsors dubbed it the Social Security Fairness Act. But the bill isn’t about “fairness”; it’s about giving a windfall to a relatively small group of people at the expense of taxpayers.
That’s because the new act repeals two provisions affecting certain state and local government workers who split their careers between jobs that are exempt from Social Security and those that require them to pay into the system. One, literally called the Windfall Elimination Provision, affected the employees themselves, while the second, called the Government Pension Offset, affected the spouses of those workers.
Repealing these provisions, former Social Security Advisory Board chair Sylvester Schieber told Newsweek, “gives workers who earn salaries not covered by Social Security disproportionately generous benefits compared to workers covered under the system for all their earnings.”(MSN.com) Read more

Mighty God, we pray for justice for all on social security to be protected and not be made into set-aside for a select few. We decry this unfair legislation that was passed at the very end of the previous Congress in order to perhaps "win friends and influence people". We declare that this law will be brought under righteous authority and neutralized in the name of Jesus. May this two-tiered system being imposed upon our nation be utterly defeated, in Jesus name.

Father, our President carries an enormous burden and decisions made by him affect the lives of people not just in our nation.
1. Strengthen him, Lord, give him wisdom and grace. Let him speak and act with honesty and integrity in all situations. Let him know and understand Your boundless love for him.
2. Bring strong, wise, and spiritually mature people to surround him. Give him discernment to reject the voices of those who would urge him to seek only personal power and glory.
3. Let integrity and honesty guide every decision as he first looks to You for divine help. Turn his heart from distractions and temptations that could harm him, his family and our nation.
4. When others tempt him to embrace arrogant power rather than humble service, give him an undivided heart. Help him to stand firm, knowing that You will fight his battles with him.
5. Guard our President against unfair criticism and unfounded accusations. When he stumbles, give him the courage to admit his mistakes. Strengthen his character, guard him against hurtful compromise and give him a listening ear for the people he serves.
6. May He begin His day with You and Your Word, with gratitude and praise for the honour You have given to him.

Pro-Hezbollah imam invited to deliver prayer at Trump inauguration
|

Husham al-Husainy, imam of the Karbalaa Islamic Educational Center in Dearborn, Michigan, is one of four religious leaders scheduled to give a benediction at Trump’s second inauguration on Jan. 20, according to the official program. Rabbi Ari Berman, president of Yeshiva University, is one of the remaining three.
Al-Husainy’s selection has caused alarm among many activists, who have pointed out his history of antisemitism and terror ties.
A new report by the Middle East Forum stated that the Dearborn imam is “pro-Hezbollah.” In 2006, he spoke at a rally supporting the Lebanese terror organization and “held the picture of Hezbollah leader Nasrallah aloft on the stage,” according to the report.
A year later, he appeared on the FOX News show “Hannity & Colmes,” where he refused to call Hezbollah a terror organization.
The report also outlines a documented history of antisemitism. At a rally in 2015, hosted at the center, he wished death upon Saudi Arabia and denounced Saudis as “agents of the Jews” whose “Zionist” planes “rain down” death upon the people of Yemen.
“Why is this terror supporter being invited to deliver the benediction at Trump’s inauguration?” wrote Amy Mekelburg, founder of the nonprofit Resistance Against Islamic Radicals.
“This is the alleged Hezbollah-endorsed imam who will hold a speech at Trump’s inauguration. What the hell is happening?” wrote social media personality Nioh Berg, accompanied by a video of al-Husainy saying “Oh agents of the Jews” in Arabic. We choose to FORGIVE those who are making these program decisions by the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies, which organizes all inauguration events.
We pray that this name be REMOVED from the program, and another be invited who walks according to Your will. We ask that only those who align with Your Word and with the agenda set in place by Donald John Trump be included in this program. We ask all of these prayers in Your Holy Name, amen and amen!

Structure discovered in Jerusalem's City of David dates back to the First Temple, study finds

The discovery is believed to date back to 8th century BCE
An ancient structure uncovered on the eastern slope of the City of David inside Jerusalem Walls National Park is believed to have been used for ritual practices during the time of the First Temple, according to a new study.
The structure contained eight rooms containing things like an altar, a standing stone, an oil press and a wine press.
Excavation director Eli Shukron said in an article published in the scientific journal Antiqot that the uncovered structure may have been used by residents of Judah for cultic or religious practices.
The study suggests the structure, which is in overall exceptional shape, dates to the First Temple period and was revealed during excavations performed by the Israel Antiquities Authority in the City of David.
"When we began excavating the City of David in 2010, we discovered that the site had been sealed with fill from the 8th century BCE (Before the Common Era), indicating it had fallen out of use during that time," Shukron said. "The standing stone we uncovered remained upright in its original place, and the other rooms in the structure were also well-preserved."
Shukron’s article proposed that the structure, comprised of eight rock-hewn rooms, was used for ritualistic purposes, not far from the Temple on the Temple Mount, nearly a few hundred meters away. Read More
