Wycliffe Associates to Use Elon Musk's Starlink to Spread the Gospel in Remote Parts of the World
|
|
A ministry that aims to give people in remote regions of the world the Word of God in their own language will be using satellite internet service owned by SpaceX to put Bibles into their hands faster. Wycliffe Associates, an international organization that empowers "mother-tongue Bible translators and partners with local churches in the advancement of Bible translation," announced they will use Elon Musk's Starlink technology to help national Bible translators in isolated regions gain access to the internet. Most of the time, translators have no internet access and are without electricity. They also rely on solar energy to power their equipment. However, according to the organization, the technology will give users in distant areas internet speeds similar to those with in-ground services.
The technology will benefit Bible translation teams, whose members typically live and work in some of the world's most hard-to-reach places. "This is going to make a tremendous impact in terms of encouraging the translators, helping them with theological questions, and having that consistent connection where you can actually speak on the telephone as opposed to having to rely on a text message or an email," said a Wycliffe Associates staff member. "Starlink's going to improve our ability to stand alongside our translators." Advancements in technology have allowed Wycliffe Associates to gain more economical access to satellite internet systems. In Jesus' name we speak Peace to the winds, we tell you to be still. Lord, create low pressures out over the Pacific and send rain to stop these fires from destroying any more homes and businesses. Father God, we ask You to protect all firefighters and anyone who is helping to put an end to this scorching fire. Make a way out for those who have been trapped, send angels to rescue them and keep watch over your critters, keep them safe. Jesus, we ask for Your mercy to fall on California, let your peace spread across that state. We ask this in the name El Shaddai, God Almighty, the God who has ultimate power over all things.

LA Fire Department Blew Seven Figure Sums on DEI Before Deadly Wildfires

The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) allocated huge sums of money to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in the months and years leading up to the wildfires currently gripping Los Angeles County, rapidly devastating thousands of acres of land while claiming two lives and around a thousand properties and counting as of the time of publication.
City budget documents covering the 2022-23 fiscal year show a $673,810 operational request for “Equity and Inclusion Staffing,” allocated to “a new Human Resources Bureau to implement a strategic diversity and inclusion plan, mediate conflict, mitigate complaints, grievances, lawsuites [sic], and facilitate a positive work environment . . ."
Another operational request for “Diversity in Recruitment” allocates $418,778 for “the targeted recruitment of women and members of underrepresented groups.”
City documents covering the 2024-25 fiscal year also show an approved $1,777,715 operational request for “Equity and Inclusion Staffing,” allocated to “Continue funding and resolution authority for nine positions consisting of one Fire Deputy Chief, two Fire Battalion Chiefs, one Management Analyst, one Fire Assistant Chief, and four Fire Captain[s] to mediate conflict, implement a strategic diversity and inclusion plan, mitigate complaints, grievances, and lawsuits, and facilitate a positive work environment.”
Local firefighters have struggled to tackle the blazes, which currently remain at zero percent containment after starting Tuesday morning. Waterless fire hydrants and a lack of personnel and equipment have hampered the response to the crisis. (Discern Report) Read more here

China Sending a Warning: Hackers Could Bring Down US Infrastructure at Will

In the wake of an unprecedented breach of U.S. Treasury Department workstations by Chinese state-sponsored hackers last week, a new report has revealed that the Biden administration quietly acknowledged over a year ago that hackers sponsored by the communist regime have the ability to shut down U.S. infrastructure such as ports and power grids "at will."
A Wall Street Journal report published over the weekend cited individuals familiar with a "secret meeting" Biden's National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan held with telecommunications and technology executives at the White House in the fall of 2023, in which Sullivan admitted that Chinese hackers had acquired the ability to potentially paralyze the U.S. by disrupting power grids and shipping ports.
In the wake of an unprecedented breach of U.S. Treasury Department workstations by Chinese state-sponsored hackers last week, a new report has revealed that the Biden administration quietly acknowledged over a year ago that hackers sponsored by the communist regime have the ability to shut down U.S. infrastructure such as ports and power grids "at will."
A year after the meeting, hackers from China executed a further massive breach of U.S. internet service providers in September 2024, demonstrating the extent of their capabilities to potentially bring America to a standstill.

1. Netanyahu Calls Meeting to Discuss Possible Third Iran Strike - Algemeiner
JNS.org — Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a discussion on Thursday to evaluate the Israeli military’s preparedness for the possibility of a third attack on Iran.
Also on the agenda: a more aggressive US policy expected from the incoming Trump administration regarding Iran.
Israeli Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer, after a Nov. 10 meeting with Donald Trump, reportedly left with the impression that the president-elect would support an Israeli Air Force strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities, or possibly send in a US strike, according to news site Axios, citing unnamed sources.

2. Former Israeli military officials float audacious plan to strike Iran in final days of Biden presidency - World Israel News
Two prominent Israeli national security analysts have proposed that the Jewish state go it alone with major attack on Iran in the final days of Joe Biden’s presidency.
Kobi Michael and Gabi Siboni, both former senior Israeli military officials, argued in a policy paper published last month that only a series of airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear, military, economic, and government infrastructure can prevent the regime from rebuilding its regional terrorist network, which Israel has degraded over 15 months of war.
Israel should start the attack just ahead of Donald Trump’s inauguration on Jan. 20, according to the analysts—thereby minimizing the risk of diplomatic retaliation by Biden and forcing the hand of the president-elect.
“With this attack, Israel will demonstrate to the United States … its absolute refusal to accept the continuation of the Iranian nuclear program and its unwillingness to risk Iran’s breakout to a bomb,” Michael and Siboni wrote for the Misgav Institute for National Security and Zionist Strategy, a think tank in Jerusalem where they are researchers.

3. 'IDF intercepts three drones from Yemen within minutes of each other - Israel National News
The IDF intercepted two UAVs launched by the Houthi terrorist rebels in Yemen on Thursday within minutes of each other.
One UAV managed to enter Israeli airspace and set off sirens in the western Negev, while the other was intercepted over the Mediterranean Sea.
Later, the IDF announced that a third UAV had been intercepted over the sea.
Earlier in the day, the IDF revealed that since the start of the war, the Houthis have launched approximately 40 surface-to-surface missiles from Yemen toward Israel. The IDF Aerial Defense Array intercepted most of the missiles that approached Israeli territory. So far, one fallen projectile has been identified, along with two partial interceptions that led to fragments falling in the area. The rest of the launches failed en route. (Read more)

The IDF announced that it struck weapons that were being loaded onto a vehicle inside a Hezbollah military compound in southern Lebanon on Wednesday.
"The IDF is committed to the ceasefire understanding between Israel and Lebanon. The IDF remains deployed in southern Lebanon and will operate against any threat," said the military.
There remains a lack of clarity about whether Israel will fully withdraw from Lebanon by the end of the 60-day ceasefire on January 26. (Read more)

The Polish government said Thursday it will ensure that Israel’s highest representatives can participate freely and safely in the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz death camp later this month after the country’s president asked for a guarantee Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu would not be arrested over alleged war crimes in Gaza.
Netanyahu is currently not planning on attending the commemoration, an aide to the premier told The Times of Israel Thursday, after an aide for Polish President Andrzej Duda confirmed that he had asked Prime Minister Donald Tusk to guarantee Netanyahu’s safety.
Polish media reported last month that Netanyahu would avoid attending events commemorating the 1945 liberation of the Nazi camp in late January, fearing he could be arrested due to Poland’s commitment to respecting an International Criminal Court warrant issued for him over the war in Gaza. President-elect Trump has cast blame on California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) for the raging wildfires in the Los Angeles region, most recently calling for him to resign.
“One of the best and most beautiful parts of the United States of America is burning down to the ground,” Trump posted to Truth Social late Wednesday evening. “It’s ashes, and Gavin Newscum should resign. This is all his fault!!!”
The president-elect’s criticism of Newsom has sparked a political battle over the fires that have killed at least five people and remain zero percent contained.In another post Thursday morning, Trump criticized Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass.

2. A Palestinian State is Like Committing Suicide – JNS
"Prior to Oct. 7, 2023, Gaza was a Palestinian state, and we know what the result was for southern Israel," said Knesset member Ariel Kallner. For Israel to allow the creation of a Palestinian state would be tantamount to national suicide, Knesset member Ariel Kallner (Likud) told JNS on Thursday. “And we are finished with committing suicide,” he added.
Kallner’s remarks came shortly after a poll found that for the first time in nearly 18 years, a majority of Israeli Jews oppose the two-state solution.
“I would have been surprised if the poll results were different after our experience with the Palestinian state in Gaza,” said Kallner. “Prior to Oct. 7, 2023, Gaza was a Palestinian state, and we know what the result was for southern Israel, the ensuing difficult war and the challenging times we now live in,” he said.

6. New York Court Denies Trump’s Bid to Halt Friday’s Sentencing – The Epoch Times
The court did not provide an explanation for the decision.
New York’s top appeals court on Thursday denied President-elect Donald Trump’s request to halt Friday’s sentencing for his conviction last year on falsified business records.
One judge of the New York Court of Appeals issued a brief order declining to grant a hearing to Trump’s legal team. No explanation was given to Trump’s attorneys.
In a filing to the court this week, Trump’s attorneys had said Justice Juan Merchan and the state’s mid-level appellate court both “erroneously failed” to stop the sentencing, arguing that the Constitution requires an automatic pause as they appeal the judge’s ruling upholding the verdict.
When announcing the sentencing date, Merchan indicated that he would not issue fines, probation, or jail time. A Manhattan jury had found Trump guilty of falsifying business records in connection to payments he made during the 2016 campaign. Trump had pleaded not guilty and denied any wrongdoing. (Read more)

There is a saying that the sum of the parts is greater than the whole. This may describe the recent actions in the waning hours of the Biden Administration. It is undeniable that this Administration is set on a path of undermining America. From presidential pardons to presidential awards to last minute policy decisions to symbolic signals, the Biden “presidency” is sending the message that Democratic Party “democracy” is the ongoing revolution of Barack Obama’s remaking of America into a statist regime. After eight years of lawfare against the “revolution’s” chief rival, Donald Trump, the forces at hand are showing there is no end to the brazen attempt to turn America away from its founding principles.
Let’s start with pardons. Biden pardoned his crime family son Hunter after repeatedly saying that he wouldn’t. Then he went on to a record number of pardons and commuting sentences—mostly of drug dealers and death row murderers. Then there are the awards. Hillary Clinton and George Soros getting awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Clinton is no doubt the poster child for government corruption—remember the Russian influence hoax and her pay to play scheme with world leaders when she was Secretary of State. United States Capitol Police have identified the man arrested Wednesday after allegedly trying to light a car on fire while President-elect Trump was paying his respects to former President Jimmy Carter, who was lying in state at the Capitol Rotunda in Washington, D.C.
Virginia man Adrian J. Hinton, 35, is the suspect, police announced on X Thursday morning.
He faces charges of unlawful activities after allegedly putting a flaming bag on top of a car near the Grant Memorial at around 5:30 p.m.
The bag burned out without igniting anything else, authorities said.
It was packed with accelerants and Hinton's vehicle had been spray-painted, according to Capitol Police.
Hinton's arrest was one of two threatening incidents at the Capitol Wednesday, when Trump, lawmakers and thousands of Americans lined up to pay their respects to Carter.
Police also apprehended a man who, about three hours earlier, allegedly arrived at the Capitol with an array of knives, including a machete that he tried to get through a security checkpoint with an X-ray machine at the Capitol Visitor Center.

Father God, we thank and praise You, once again, for intervening in the two security breaches occurring outside of the Capitol Building as former President Carter lay in-state in the Rotunda. We are so thankful that while President-Elect Trump was present, he was not harmed in any way; and the perpetrators were never near him.
In the days ahead, as Trump’s inauguration is imminent, we ask for Your continued protection for him, his family, his staff and other advisors. We pray that only those who have been vetted by the Holy Ghost be permitted anywhere near them. We ask for visible and invisible protection for President-Elect Trump—angels, military with offensive and defensive weapons, physical barriers and Your weapons of warfare—the intercessors and prayer warriors. May all stand at high alert and be immediately responsive to orders from heaven and from trusted agents and superiors.
Lord God, we pray that if the inauguration ceremony should be held behind closed doors in a safe space, that You would convey this to President Trump especially, but also to his security and family members.
We also ask for supernatural protection, angelic as well as human, as President Trump travels anywhere on foot or in any type of transportation on land, water or in the air.
We firmly believe that You chose Donald J. Trump to be our new president; therefore, we believe You will take perfectly good care of him in all circumstances. May we continue to pray and remain informed, alert and aware. We give You all of the praise, the honor and the glory! In Yeshua’s mighty name, AMEN!!!

Supreme Court Justices Barrett and Roberts side with liberals to deny sentencing delay in Trump hush-money case

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled against a bid from the attorneys for President-elect Donald Trump to delay the sentencing in the case involving hush money paid to adult movie worker Stormy Daniels.
The court ruled in a narrow 5-4 vote against Trump on Thursday.
Justices John Roberts and Amy Coney Barrett sided with the liberal justices on the court.
"First, the alleged evidentiary violations at President-Elect Trump's state-court trial can be addressed in the ordinary course on appeal. Second, the burden that sentencing will impose on the President-Elect's responsibilities is relatively insubstantial in light of the trial court's stated intent to impose a sentence of 'unconditional discharge' after a brief virtual hearing," read the ruling.
Trump will face sentencing on Friday at 9:30 ET, although he will be allowed to attend the ruling via video conference.
He was found guilty by a jury of 34 counts of falsifying business records over $130,000 that was paid out to Daniels in order to keep her from speaking to the press about her claims of an extramarital affair with Trump. He denies the charges.
Trump became the first U.S. president to be guilty of criminal charges and, barring any extraordinary event, will become the first U.S. president to be elected despite being a felon.
Judge Juan M. Merchan has signaled that he would give Trump an "unconditional discharge" that would allow him to avoid prison time, any fine, or probation.
Merchan had previously denied postponing the sentencing on the basis that Trump's immunity claims did not apply to acts he committed privately.
Trump excoriated the judge in a post on social media.
"Ultimately, the Biden/Harris DOJ forced Bragg to concoct anything to embarrass TRUMP. But it was even more so what the CORRUPT and TOTALLY CONFLICTED POLITICAL HACK Judge did, and is doing, on this sham trial," wrote Trump.
"The Judge fabricated the facts, and the law, no different than the other New York Judicial and Prosecutorial Witch Hunts. That's why businesses are fleeing New York, taking with them millions of jobs, and BILLIONS OF DOLLARS IN TAXES," he added. (Blaze Media) Read more here.
