Gov. Sanders Delivers GOP Rebuttal to Biden’s State of the Union
|
|
Among reasons why Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders was selected to deliver the Republican rebuttal to Democrat President Joe Biden’s Feb. 7 State of the Union address was because at 40, she’s the nation’s youngest governor while at 80, Biden’s the oldest president in the history of the United States.
But Sanders in her combative 15-minute response said age is not the only difference between the two. In a searing juxtaposition, she said the vision offered by a “new generation of Republican leadership” of America today and tomorrow is vastly different from that presented by Biden and the Democratic Party.
“The dividing line in America is no longer between right or left. The choice is between normal and crazy,” she said, noting, “Americans want common sense leadership” while in Washington “the Biden administration is doubling down on crazy.”
“Tonight, let us reaffirm our commitment to a timeless American idea: that government exists not to rule the people, but to serve the people. Democrats want to rule us with more government control, but that is not who we are,” she said. (Epoch Times) Read more here.

‘If China Threatens Our Sovereignty, We Will Act’: Biden in State of the Union
|
|
President Joe Biden has sworn to protect U.S. sovereignty in the face of Chinese communist aggression amid bipartisan alarm over the growing threat posed by Beijing.
Biden said his order to shoot down a Chinese spy balloon that traversed U.S. airspace last week was evidence of his commitment to defend the nation and to bring the fight to China’s communist regime when necessary.
“I am committed to work with China where it can advance American interests and benefit the world,” Biden said during his State of the Union speech on Feb. 7.
“But make no mistake about it: As we made clear last week, if China threatens our sovereignty, we will act to protect our country. And we did.”
The president used the opportunity to underscore that he had outlined the U.S. stance to Chinese Communist Party (CCP) leader Xi Jinping and made clear that it preferred competition over conflict, a statement the administration has repeatedly highlighted over the past two years.
“I’ve made clear with Xi that we seek competition, not conflict,” Biden said. “And let’s be clear: Winning the competition should unite all of us.” (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

Israeli government scrambles to improve earthquake preparedness
|
|
The Knesset Internal Affairs and Environment Committee has called for an emergency meeting to review the country’s earthquake preparedness in light of the devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria on Monday. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has directed National Security Council head Tzachi Hanegbi to “update and reiterate the steps we need to take.”
Comptroller’s Warning
State Comptroller Matanyahu Englman on Monday urged the government not to delay. The deadly earthquakes in Turkey and Syria should be viewed as a warning, he said, calling for immediate action.
“Do not wait for such a disaster to occur in Israel. Act immediately on the country’s preparedness for earthquakes,” he said in a statement, adding that it was perhaps the country’s last opportunity to do so.
The Great Rift Valley
Israel is located along the Great Rift Valley, an active fault line that runs from the Red Sea to the Jordan River, determining the border between Israel and Jordan. This geologic fault presents several significant hazards for the area, including frequent minor earthquakes and the potential for more serious seismic events. Vasiliy Manenko, a seismologist from Ariel University, told JNS that Israel’s most vulnerable areas are located along the fault, where older buildings are often found. Tiberias, Beit She’an, Tzfat, Kiryat Shmona and Hatzor HaGlilit are the most at-risk locations, he said.
In an urgent statement on Monday, Beit She’an Mayor Jackie Levy warned about the dangers of a strong earthquake in the Jordan Valley.
“The writing is on the wall and it’s glowing red—an earthquake that will cause destruction, death and ruin in Beit She’an is not a fictional scenario but a tangible one,” wrote Levy. In the event of a major quake, there could be “thousands of casualties and that’s in Beit She’an alone,” he continued. (JNS News) Read more here.

1. Biden's IRS plans to crack down on waiters' tips - Fox News
The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) proposed a revenue procedure this week to crack down on the service industry's reporting of tips.
The Service Industry Tip Compliance Agreement (SITCA) program would be a voluntary tip reporting system in which the IRS and service industry companies cooperate, according to the announcement Monday. As part of the proposal, the IRS will give the public until early May to provide feedback on the program before implementing it.
"Those 87,000 new IRS agents that you were promised would only target the rich," tweeted Mike Palicz, federal affairs manager at Americans for Tax Reform. "They're coming after waitresses' tips now."
According to the IRS, the program would seek to "improve tip reporting compliance," reduce administrative burdens and provide more transparency and certainty to taxpayers. (Read more)

2. Biden re-ups amnesty call for illegal immigrants, - Fox News
"Let’s also come together on immigration and make it a bipartisan issue once again," he said. Biden’s administration has been rocked by a migrant crisis at the southern border now into its third year, with a record 2.3 million migrant encounters and nearly 600,000 "gotaways" in FY 2022. In December there was a record 251,000 migrant encounters alone.
Republicans have battered the administration over the crisis, blaming the administration’s rolling back of Trump-era border security policies and interior enforcement. But the administration has blamed a hemisphere-wide crisis and has hit out at Republicans for not agreeing to funding and reform measures proposed by the administration.
In response to the remarks, some Republicans were heard yelling "secure the border." House Speaker Kevin McCarthy appeared to shush the raucous members. (Read more)

3. Joe Biden Brags at SOTU About Chinese Spy Balloon Response After Letting It Cross Entire Country - Brietbart
CLAIM: President Joe Biden told Congress during his annual State of the Union address on Tuesday that his administration’s response to an invading Chinese surveillance balloon proved “we will act to protect our country – and we did.”
VERDICT: MOSTLY FALSE. Biden approved shooting down the balloon – an unmanned vessel apparently equipped with advanced surveillance technology that China claimed was for exclusively “meteorological” purposes – on Saturday, but only after allowing it to cross nearly the entire country.
“Today, we’re in the strongest position in decades to compete with China or anyone else in the world,” he continued. “I am committed to work with China where we can advance American interests and benefit the world.” Biden did not explicitly mention the Chinese balloon incident, but alluded to it as a message to China that his administration would not tolerate violations of sovereignty. 4. Sarah Sanders delivers GOP rebuttal to Biden SOTU - Fox News
Newly-elected Arkansas Gov. Sarah Sanders delivered the GOP rebuttal to President Biden's second State of the Union address Tuesday, calling for a "new generation of Republican leadership" and describing the choice between Democrats and Republicans as a choice "between normal or crazy."
"Being a mom to three young children taught me not to believe every story I hear. So forgive me for not believing much of anything I heard tonight from President Biden. From out-of-control inflation and violent crime to the dangerous border crisis and threat from China, Biden and the Democrats have failed you," Sanders said.
"It’s time for a change. Tonight, let us reaffirm our commitment to a timeless American idea: that government exists not to rule the people, but to serve the people. Democrats want to rule us with more government control, but that is not who we are," she added. (Read more)

5. President Biden Claims ‘We Have Broken COVID’s Grip on Us’ After Pushing Mask and Vax Mandates - Brietbart
President Biden on Tuesday evening claimed that the coronavirus “no longer controls our lives” and bragged that “we have broken COVID’s grip on us,” despite the fact that Biden, upon taking office, attempted to force the vaccine on workers and pushed mask mandates for well over a year after promising masking for “just” 100 days.
Biden said, seemingly taking credit for the country opening back up and removing the virus’s grip: “We’ve saved millions of lives and opened our country back up. And soon we’ll end the public health emergency. … But we will remember the toll and pain that will never go away for so many,” he continued, later adding that “we still need to monitor dozens of variants and support new vaccines and treatments.” (Read more)

6. Dr. Fauci Admits COVID Shots Didn’t Have A Chance Of Controlling The Pandemic - The Daily Caller
Dr. Anthony Fauci admitted in a recently published research paper that COVID-19 vaccines could not have been reasonably expected to get the pandemic under control.
Fauci and other top government and healthcare officials repeatedly stressed during the pandemic that getting vaccinated would stop the spread of COVID-19 and was the most important step individuals could take to end the pandemic. However, in the paper published Jan. 11 in Cell Press, Fauci and two co-authors write that respiratory viruses like SARS-CoV-2 and the flu have never been well-contained by vaccines.
“Because these viruses generally do not elicit complete and durable protective immunity by themselves, they have not to date been effectively controlled by licensed or experimental vaccines,” Fauci wrote in the paper. The analysis, titled “Rethinking next-generation vaccines for coronaviruses, influenza viruses, and other respiratory viruses,” highlights shortcomings in current vaccine technology for respiratory viruses and speculates on how it might be improved going forward. The authors compare SARS-CoV-2 to influenza, for which they say “only less than suboptimal vaccines” exist. (Read more)
- Lord God, this is not news to us, because we knew this all along. However, it was a lie, because the public was told that this would help curve the pandemic and save lives. 7. Ron DeSantis Announces ‘Largest Tax Relief Proposal’ in State’s History - Brietbart
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) announced what has been described as the “largest tax relief proposal” in the Sunshine State’s history, which includes permanent sales tax relief on baby and toddler necessities, gas stoves, and more.
Speaking in Marion County, DeSantis briefly highlighted the state of affairs economically in Florida, noting that the state has one of the lowest per capita tax burdens in the country and no income tax while promising to “keep it that way.”
One of the things that we’re going to propose is a permanent tax exemption on all baby and toddler necessities, diapers, baby clothes, shoes, baby wipes, cribs, and strollers,” he said during Wednesday’s press conference, listing more permanent sales tax exemptions. (Read more)

8. Former Twitter officials make huge admission during GOP grilling - DML News
Republicans on the House Oversight Committee are making good on their promise to investigate Twitter’s suppression of the New York Post’s 2020 story about Hunter Biden’s laptop. Wednesday morning, a hearing got underway as the Oversight Committee called in several former senior Twitter employees to testify.
As the hearing got underway, both Roth and Gadde admitted they made a mistake in censoring the New York post story on Hunter Biden’s laptop ahead of the 2020 election.
Roth also admitted their decision to censor the story was wrong. (Read more)

Stupidocrisy: Health Care Agendas

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) is investigating the over-the-counter eyecare product EzriCare Artificial Tears and is recommending it be discontinued immediately until the investigation is completed. CDC said in a January 20 notice, “Patient outcomes include permanent vision loss resulting from ocular infection, hospitalization, and death of one patient with bloodstream infection… CDC recommends that clinicians and patients immediately discontinue the use of EzriCare Artificial Tears until the epidemiological investigation and laboratory analyses are complete.” The CDC, in justifying its recommendation, said it had identified over 50 cases in 11 states. Why is this small recall so important to you?
As of January 27, the CDC Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VARS) reports 931,816 adverse reactions to the COVID-19 vaccines in the United States since December 2020. This compares with 798,671 for ALL other vaccines since 1990. There were 16,717 deaths reported from the COVID-19 vaccines since December 2020 compared with 5,504 deaths from all other vaccines since 1990. This number of deaths from the COVID-19 vaccines in three years is more than 300% of the number of deaths for ALL OTHER VACCINES COMBINED in 13 years. The CDC itself says that the VAERS reporting system is widely underreported, “Underreporting” is one of the main limitations of passive surveillance systems, including VAERS” and cautions that there are other factors that can cause death that may or may not be related to the vaccines. Biden’s Delusional Address

President Biden’s State of the Union address last night was an ode to big government socialism and radical left-wing values.
Biden told the country that the state of our union is strong. But 70% of Americans believe we’re headed in the wrong direction and most Democrats don’t want Biden to run again.
Not surprisingly, the same left-wing media that cheered when Nancy Pelosi ripped up President Trump’s speech bitterly complained about the “extraordinary rudeness” of Republicans who objected to Biden’s repeated lies, and there were many.
So many, in fact, that the New York Post declared Biden’s address set a new record for “dishonesty and emptiness.” Get used to it. What we heard last night was the campaign stump speech that we will hear over and over again for the next two years.

Jupiter now has 92 moons after new discovery
|
|
|
(CNN) -- Jupiter already reigns as king of the planets — it's the largest one in our solar system. And now, the gas giant has the most known moons, too.
Astronomers have observed 12 additional moons orbiting Jupiter, bringing its total number of confirmed moons to 92.
The discovery was made during observations by astronomer Scott Sheppard of the Carnegie Institution for Science and his team. They used the Subaru Telescope in Hawaii in September 2021 and the Dark Energy Camera located on the Blanco telescope at the Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory in Chile in August 2022. The Dark Energy Camera can survey the sky for faint objects.
Jupiter and its natural satellites were in alignment with more distant targets that Sheppard and his team have been seeking in the Kuiper Belt, a ring of icy objects circling the sun that's located past the orbit of Neptune on the edge of the solar system. Read More

'Operation Love Wins' seeks to reunite Jan. 6 detainees with family members at D.C. jail
|
|
A Jan. 6 defendant launched "Operation Love Wins" to try and reunite fellow Jan. 6 prisoners in the D.C. jail with their family members, many of whom have not seen their loved ones in nearly two years. Starting last month, the D.C. Department of Corrections stopped requiring visitors and inmates to be vaccinated before allowing an in-person visit. Some Jan. 6 prisoners said they were excited by the news while other families were unable to afford a trip.
In response, the organization The Real J6, which represents people incarcerated for the Jan. 6 riot, created the Love Wins campaign with the goal of funding trips for families to visit their loved ones in the D.C. jail. "It’s been almost two years for most of us," said The Real J6 founder Shane Jenkins, who has been incarcerated in the D.C. jail since March.
"We are asking [fellow] patriots to donate money, airline miles, hotel points, or other travel resources to aid us in this mission. Every penny of this will go to our cause." About 25 J6 people are incarcerated in the DC jail, and the organization estimates that it will cost about $2,000 per family for one trip. The group said it plans on providing transportation, food and one or two days of housing to up to four people in a family. (Just the News) Read more here.
