Tensions Rise as Iran Threatens Israel,
Reveals New Underground Air Base
|
|
Iran officially revealed the first-of-its-kind underground airbase Tuesday dubbed "Eagle 44," capable of housing fighter jets and long-range cruise missiles, first reported Iranian news outlet IRNA.
An opening ceremony was reportedly attended by Iran’s top military commanders, including its Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Bagheri and Army Commander Major General Abrolrahim Mousavi.
Iranian officials not only championed how the airbase will enable its military to better conduct varied operations, but struck an aggressive tone when it came to its chief adversary, Israel.
"Any attack on Iran from our enemies, including Israel, will see a response from our many air force bases including Eagle 44," Bagheri told state-run TV, reported Reuters.
The comments come as tension between Iran and Israel continues to escalate, particularly following the election of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who vowed to be tough on Iran from the campaign trail. (Fox News) |

But Lord, there is much saber rattling going on from both sides. Father, we are asking you to speak your Shalom into these circumstances. Unfortunately, the balance of power has changed dramatically over the past decade. Russia and China have both made enormous leaps forward, and that puts us in a very precarious position.
In recent days, Republicans in Congress have been buzzing about a new report “from the top commander of U.S. nuclear forces” that says that China now has more launchers for land-based nuclear missiles than the U.S. does…
Four GOP leaders on the House and Senate Armed Services committees said the revelation about China’s nuclear capability, made in a Jan. 26 letter from the top commander of U.S. nuclear forces, is a warning that Beijing’s arsenal is expanding faster than anticipated, though the U.S. still has more warheads and intercontinental ballistic missiles.
This wasn’t supposed to happen.
We all knew that the Chinese were upgrading their arsenal, but it turns out that they were even busier than we had anticipated. In fact, they “have doubled their number of warheads in just 2 years.” (The Economic Collapse Blog) Read more here.

1. Turkey earthquake: IDF mapping unit helps pinpoint search and rescue operations - Israel National News
The Intelligence Corps' Unit 9900 is participating in the IDF's mission to rescue survivors trapped under rubble following the devastating earthquakes which struck Turkey and Syria this week.
The unit assists in deciphering satellite photographs, which allows the forces in the field to pinpoint the location of collapsed buildings and thus optimize their work.
Yesterday a special team from the mapping unit landed in Turkey. The unit uses advanced technological capabilities in the field which are a force multiplier for the branch of the Home Front Command that deals with field analysis. (Read more)

2. Israeli Teams Rescue 17 People From Rubble of Turkey Quakes - Algemeiner
Israeli personnel rescued 17 people from the devastation wrought by two powerful earthquakes in Turkey as of Thursday, the military said, with disaster relief crews continuing to race against time, poor weather, and a climbing death toll.
According to local authorities, more than 21,000 people in Turkey and Syria were killed and over 78,000 injured after two major tremors — registering magnitude 7.8 and 7.5 on the Richter scale — struck on Monday in southern provinces near the Syrian border. Rescue efforts are ongoing, with Turkish and international search-and-rescue teams racing in poor weather conditions to locate and extract those trapped for days under debris.
Israel joined relief efforts on Monday, with some 400 personnel on the ground and more than 150 tons of humanitarian aid send to southern Turkey so far, and “much more” on the way, according to Nadav Markman, deputy chief of mission of Israel in Turkey. The IDF has also established a field hospital in Kahramanmaraş, the epicenter of the second quake. (Read more)

3. Netanyahu scraps Western Wall bill: ‘The status quo will remain as it is today’ - JNS
(February 9, 2023 / JNS) Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said a controversial Shas Party bill to criminalize “inappropriate behavior” at the Western Wall will not be taken up by his government.
In a video posted to social media on Thursday, the prime minister addressed the outpouring of criticism regarding the proposed law: “I read this morning the headlines about the Kotel [Western Wall]. I would like to calm things down and clarify: The status quo of the Western Wall, which is dear to all the Jewish people, will remain exactly as it is today.
“I spoke with my colleagues in the coalition [who agreed] that the bill we’re talking about won’t be put up [for a vote] at this time and, if it had been put up, it wouldn’t include the sections on criminal trespasses regarding clothing or musical instruments. Those sections were written 40 years ago and they’re not acceptable to anyone. Therefore, the Kotel will remain exactly as it is today,” Netanyahu said. (Read more)

4. UN’s International Court of Justice announces timeline for start of Israel probe - Times of Israel
The International Court of Justice on Wednesday announced the timeline for the start of its probe into the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, indicating that the process harshly opposed by Israel is moving forward apace.
The Hague-based ICJ said the court had decided that the UN, its member states and the Palestinians are “likely to be able to furnish information” on the probe into Israel.
The court set a July 25 deadline for submitting written statements on the case, and an October deadline for comments on those statements. (Read more)

5. Barcelona Cuts Ties with Twin-City Tel Aviv over ‘Apartheid’ - Jewish Press
Barcelona Mayor Ada Colau announced on Wednesday that she is cutting her city’s tie with its former twin city Tel Aviv, and imposing a “temporary suspension” of relations with Israel because the Jewish State practices “apartheid” against Arabs.
A group calling itself End Complicity with Israel submitted the proposal to end the twin city relationship with Tel Aviv to the mayor and the Barcelona City Council.
Back on July 31, 1492, under the Alhambra Decree issued by Isabella I of Castile and Ferdinand II of Aragon, more than 300,000 practicing Jews were expelled from Barcelona, as they were from all of Spain. It took those murderous barbarians 500 years to reignite the full flame of their fervent antisemitism. (Read more)

1. GOP House-Led Panel Shifts Gears, Goes Full Throttle for Domestic Energy Production – The Epoch Times
It is standard procedure for committees at the start of a new Congressional session to outline their goals for the next two years, especially when a chamber is under new management.
With Republicans assuming control of the United States House of Representatives following November’s midterm elections, the newly installed GOP leadership has been doing just that across the chamber’s 20 standing permanent committees and their 104 subcommittees and select temporary panels.
That transitional shift-change has been clearly evident this week in seminal session meetings of the 52-member House Energy and Commerce Committee and its six subcommittees and in the 45-member House Natural Resources Committee and its five subsidiary panels.
During four years of Democratic control, climate change, environmental protection, and “green” energy development were among primary policy drivers in adopting legislation designed to coax the nation away from reliance on oil and gas, including the $1.2 trillion Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) and $740 billion Infrastructure Reduction Act (IRA).
During two days of nearly eight hours of hearings before the House Energy and Commerce Committee on Feb. 7, and before the full House Natural Resource Committee on Feb. 8, Republicans made it clear that many initiatives passed under the Biden administration promoting electric vehicles, carbon capture, green energy, and environmental protection are on the proverbial block. 2. After 7.8 Magnitude Earthquake Rocks Syria and Turkey, Death Toll Estimated to Reach 20,000 – NewsTarget.com
Both nations also experienced massive and strong aftershocks.
After the first quake, the U.S. Geological Survey recorded more than 60 aftershocks, including a major one at 7.5 magnitude, CNN reported. World Health Organization (WHO) officials fear that the toll will rise inexorably as they estimated up to 20,000 may have died.
Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay said more than 8,000 people had been pulled from the debris in Turkey. He added that about 380,000 people have taken refuge in government shelters or hotels, with others huddling in shopping malls, stadiums, mosques and community centers. Turkey’s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure said that overnight 3,400 people took shelter in trains being used as emergency accommodation.
Meanwhile, Turkey’s disaster management agency said it had 11,342 reports of collapsed buildings, of which 5,775 had been confirmed. The agency has deployed more than 24,400 search and rescue personnel to search the area. (Read more)

4. House Unanimously Approves Resolution for Condemning Chinese Spy Balloon – The Hill
The House unanimously approved a resolution on Thursday condemning the Chinese Communist Party’s use of a spy balloon over the continental U.S., labeling the situation “a brazen violation of United States sovereignty.”
The resolution — which cleared the chamber in a bipartisan 419-0 vote — came to the House floor five days after the U.S. shot down the Chinese spy balloon off the South Carolina coast, intensifying tensions between Washington and Beijing.
“An event like this, Mr. Speaker, must not happen again. And it cannot go unanswered,” Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Texas), the chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee and sponsor of the measure, said on the House floor during debate Thursday.
“They only understand one thing and that is force, and that’s projecting power, and we need to project power and force and strength against the Chinese communist party,” he added. “They must understand that we do desire peace, but infringing upon our sovereignty leads us down a dangerous path. Our adversaries must believe that any future incursion into American airspace by a spy balloon or any other vehicle will be met with decisive force. 5. North Korea Announces Efforts to Increase Its Preparedness for War – Gateway Pundit
Two days ago in North Korea, leader Kim Jong-un ordered his military to better prepare for war. The South China Morning Post reported on Tuesday:
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has ordered his military to expand its combat exercises and strengthen war preparedness as he looks to escalate an already provocative run in weapons demonstrations in the face of deepening tensions with its neighbours and Washington. Kim presided over a meeting of the ruling Workers’ Party’s Central Military Commission on Monday and encouraged the armed forces to perform “ever-victorious feats” and display “matchless military strength” to open a new phase in development, the country’s official Korean Central News Agency reported on Tuesday.
The commission’s members discussed a series of tasks aimed at inducing “great change” in the military, including “constantly expanding and intensifying the operation and combat drills” and “more strictly perfecting the preparedness for war,” the agency said.

The German state-sponsored news outlet ZDF is working with state-sponsored news outlets from Canada, Switzerland, and Belgium to “develop online-based solutions to enable civic engagement and democratic discourse in digital space away from hate comments and increasing disinformation.” That means censorship. ZDF reported:
Together with public broadcasters from Canada (CBC), Switzerland (SRG SSR) and Belgium (RTBF), ZDF wants to develop online-based solutions to enable civic engagement and democratic discourse in digital space away from hate comments and increasing disinformation. The international research project “Public Spaces Incubator” aims to develop and test innovative building blocks for open and respectful online discussions. The focus is on the interests of the users. Commercial aspects are irrelevant.
ZDF Director Dr. Norbert Himmler: “Democracy thrives on an open and fair dialogue in society. We must not leave that to the major American platforms. The ‘Public Spaces Incubator’ project is intended to show ways in which public broadcasting can create independent and fact-based communication spaces in the digital world can build. Our common goal is to counter the increase in hatred, violence, propaganda and defamation on social media with a public service alternative.”
During the 1930s, the German state-controlled media also colluded with western media outlets. A major example of this was the Associated Press. In return for access to Germany, The Associated Press agreed to not publish anything “calculated to weaken the strength of the Reich abroad or at home.”(Read more)

7. Newsweek Calls on Scientific Community to Admit “We Were Wrong” About Covid – Pandemic.news
A seventh-year student at a medical school in Texas penned an op-ed for Newsweek this week calling out the establishment for imposing lockdowns, masks, “vaccines” and booster shots, and other unscientific, life-destroying tyranny in the name of fighting covid. Kevin Bass, a medical student and researcher, says he initially supported the government’s covid fascism. He believed it was the right thing to do in order to save lives, but now believes the exact opposite.
“I believed that the authorities responded to the largest public health crisis of our lives with compassion, diligence, and scientific expertise,” Bass writes. “I was wrong. We in the scientific community were wrong. And it cost lives.”
“I can see now that the scientific community from the CDC to the WHO to the FDA and their representatives, repeatedly overstated the evidence and misled the public about its own views and policies, including on natural vs. artificial immunity, school closures and disease transmission, aerosol spread, mask mandates, and vaccine effectiveness and safety, especially among the young. All of these were scientific mistakes at the time, not in hindsight. Amazingly, some of these obfuscations continue to the present day.”

those responsible admit the truth and “publicly take responsibility”. We ask You

8. Fit and Healthy People are Dropping Down with Heart Issues – Fed up Aussie Journalist Says He’s Done with Covid Vaccines on LIVE TV – The Gateway Pundit
Popular Australian television presenter and journalist for the Nine Network, Karl Stefanovic, has shocked his viewers after he publicly criticized the latest recommendations for a fifth booster shot of the Covid vaccine on live TV.
On Wednesday, the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunization (ATAGI) released new recommendations for Covid-19 booster shots for all adult Australians. People above the age of 30 are recommended to get the fifth jab, while those between the ages of 18 and 29 should get the fourth jab.
During Wednesday’s episode of Nine Network’s breakfast program Today, fully vaccinated Stefanovic said that the shot could lead to “heart issues.” “As you know, I’m not a glowing ambassador for more than two shots. I’ve just decided that I’ve had covert a couple of times, and I’m done with the vaccines,” Stefanovic said.
Stefanovic is more worried of having complications if he has another dose of the COVID vaccine than getting the COVID.
“The other thing that I’m concerned about is that if I have another dose, that I may get complications. I’ve seen all this, all these reports on the internet about fit and healthy people just dropping down with heart issues, and it’s still not obviously established yet whether or not the vaccine caused some of these heart issues. But that’s a worry for me more so than getting COVID,” he said. (Read more)

When the Nazis conducted human experiments on Jews and executed them at will, the world said “Never Again.” Never again would the world let this happen. And countries agreed to measures to prevent such a holocaust and destruction. Now there is a documentary titled “Never Again” where holocaust survivors and their children and grandchildren are warning the world that the very same strategies and tactics used by the Nazis are being deployed by globalists using COVID to establish tyranny. The survivors warn that there is the very same modus operandi taking place with COVID as the Nazis used to spread fear, demonize those who did not comply, and use those who comply to advance their cause.
In the first of a five-part documentary series by Holocaust survivor Vera Sharav, Orthodox rabbi Michoel Green said that Nazi Germany, as did authorities during the COVID “pandemic,” engaged in “the marginalization of that minority, identifying the minority as a threat to public health, or [as] a public health risk…That is exactly what Goebbels did.” Green, further said, “There is nothing more morally reprehensible than government or authority of any kind declaring other innocent human beings as a public health risk. And it doesn’t matter if these people claim to be doing so innocently, for the greater good, because that’s what Nazis did as well…But that doesn’t justify marginalization, persecution, and apartheid … What we’re seeing nowadays is precisely that.” He referred to the unvaccinated being denied access to public venues during COVID. America’s most-watched sporting event will feature the two best teams in professional football but also will showcase well-known players who are unashamed about their Christian faith.
Super Bowl LVII between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs will include starting quarterbacks who are Christians. Additionally, the leading tacklers on each team also are Christians.
The game will be broadcast Sunday on Fox.
Here are five Christian athletes who are playing in Super Bowl LVII:
- PATRICK MAHOMES | The Kansas City starting quarterback credited God moments after his team’s 23-20 victory over Cincinnati in the AFC Championship, saying a back injury nearly prevented him from playing.
“I wanna thank God. He healed my body this week,” he told CBS during the national broadcast. “To battle through that, He gave me the strength to be out here.”
- JALEN HURTS | Philadelphia's starting quarterback told CBS Sports earlier this year that “God is everything and He's worthy of praise.”
“You have to put Him in the center of everything that you do,” Hurts said. “And that's what I believe. … I've been blessed to grow, learn things, and just mature. And I know, God has been there the whole entire way.”
- A.J. BROWN | The Eagles’ starting receiver was drafted by the Tennessee Titans in 2019 but traded prior to the 2022 season to the Eagles. He led Philadelphia this season in receiving yards.
“I had plans and God had other plans,” Brown told Sports Spectrum. “I try not to lean on my own understanding. I read the Bible a lot because that’s how I fight my problems. I’m not trying to stand up here and be a perfect guy because I’m not; nobody is. But I just lean heavily on my faith and try to let Him direct my paths.”

NASA’s Curiosity Finds Surprise Clues to Mars’ Watery Past
|

Among other discoveries made by the rover, rippled rock textures suggest lakes existed in a region of ancient Mars that scientists expected to be drier.
When NASA’s Curiosity rover arrived at the “sulfate-bearing unit” last fall, scientists thought they’d seen the last evidence that lakes once covered this region of Mars. That’s because the rock layers here formed in drier settings than regions explored earlier in the mission. The area’s sulfates – salty minerals – are thought to have been left behind when water was drying to a trickle.
So Curiosity’s team was surprised to discover the mission’s clearest evidence yet of ancient water ripples that formed within lakes. Billions of years ago, waves on the surface of a shallow lake stirred up sediment at the lake bottom, over time creating rippled textures left in rock.
“This is the best evidence of water and waves that we’ve seen in the entire mission,” said Ashwin Vasavada, Curiosity’s project scientist at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Southern California. “We climbed through thousands of feet of lake deposits and never saw evidence like this – and now we found it in a place we expected to be dry.” Read More
