U.S. shoots down "high-altitude object" over Alaska at the direction of President Biden, White House says

The Pentagon, at the direction of President Biden, shot down a "high altitude object" over Alaska airspace on Friday, National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby confirmed during Friday's White House briefing. The incident comes several days after the Pentagon took down a Chinese spy balloon that crossed much of the continental U.S.

Kirby, asked about the possibility of another object floating over U.S. airspace, said he "can confirm that the Department of Defense was tracking a high-altitude object over Alaska in the last 24 hours." The Pentagon is still assessing this latest object, and it's not clear who owns it or what its purpose was. The presence of surveillance equipment could not yet be confirmed, U.S. officials said.

Kirby said this latest object was the size of a "small car," and over a "very sparsely populated" area, allowing for it to be taken down more easily than the Chinese spy balloon that was larger than the Statute of Liberty. Kirby said the president's main concern was the threat this latest object posed to civilian flights. This latest object was taken down off the Alaskan coast.

"The object was flying at an altitude of 40,000 feet and posed a reasonable threat to the safety of civilian flight," Kirby said. "Out of an abundance of caution and at the recommendation of the Pentagon, President Biden ordered the military to down the object and they did, and it came inside our territorial waters. Those waters right now are frozen but inside territorial airspace and over territorial waters. Fighter aircraft assigned to U.S. Northern Command took down the object within the last hour."

Asked about the operation, Mr. Biden told reporters Friday, "It was a success."

The FAA closed some airspace in northern Alaska to support the Defense Department's operation.

Kirby said the U.S. will attempt to recover the object, which did not appear to be manned or have maneuvering capabilities. (CVS News) Read more here.

Syria Earthquake: Newborn Tied to Mother With Umbilical Cord Pulled From Rubble- Watch Viral Video, Thousands Offer To Adopt
Security personnel found baby Aya buried under the rubble of a five-storey building for 10 hours during rescue operations in Syrian city of Jinderis hit by earthquake

Thousands of people are willing to adopt a newborn girl born under the rubble of a collapsed building in northwest Syria after Monday's earthquake. According to a BBC report, the baby named Aya was attached to her mother's lifeless body by the umbilical cord while being rescued. Her parents and all four siblings died after an earthquake struck the city of Jinderis. Aya has been admitted to the hospital now. Security personnel carrying out rescue operations in Jinderis on Monday afternoon found baby Aya buried under the rubble of a five-storey building for 10 hours.

A video of Aya's rescue has gone viral on social media. Security personnel can be seen rescuing the infant girl from the rubble in the viral video. They were climbing the rubble of the building to get to the others who were trapped.

Aya's Pediatrician, Dr. Hani Maroof, says: "She was in terrible shape when she arrived here on Monday. She had swelling and wounds in many places on her body. Her body temperature was very low and she could hardly breathe." This girl's status is reportedly stable right now.

After being discharged from the hospital, she will be taken to the home of his great-uncle, Salah al-Badran. According to The Associated Press (AP), al-Badran's home in the Syrian town of Jinderis was also destroyed during the earthquake. (ZEE News)

- Father God, we offer You praise for the amazing survival of this newborn baby in the rubbles of the land of Turkey. According to CBS News, her name "Aya" means "miracle" and that's exactly what this is! May the whole world behold Your Glory in the midst of these ruins, in Jesus' name, amen and amen.

- " and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
    instead of ashes,
the oil of joy
    instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
    a planting of the Lord

for the display of his splendor." (Isaiah 61:3)

FBI search of Pence's home uncovers more documents

The FBI has discovered more relevant documents in a consensual search Friday of the Carmel, Ind., home of former Vice President Mike Pence. Federal authorities removed one document with classification markings and six additional pages without markings, according to a Pence official.

"Following the discovery and disclosure of a small number of potentially classified documents that had inadvertently been transported to his home in Indiana, Vice President Pence and his legal team have fully cooperated with the appropriate authorities and agreed to a consensual search of his residence that took place today," Pence adviser Devin O'Malley said. "The Department of Justice completed a thorough and unrestricted search of five hours and removed one document with classified markings and six additional pages without such markings that were not discovered in the initial review by the vice president's counsel."

Two officials confirmed the search to CBS News Friday morning, and local police said they were directing traffic in the area while the search was carried out. No warrant was issued, and the search took place with the cooperation of Pence's team. The Justice Department declined to comment. (CBS News) Read more here.

- Father God, as these documents continue to be uncovered, it does seem that this story has no ending. But Holy One, we know that You know all the facts in this matter, for You are our Omnisicent God! We pray that, in the end, only truth will emerge from these investigations, with no political spin attached. Thank You, Holy One, for hearing our prayers.

In  Jeus' name,

Amen and Amen

- "And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.”  (Matthew 21:22)
SUPER BOWL
HUMAN TRAFFICKING ALERT!

IJM: Is the Super Bowl the Largest Human Trafficking Event in the World?
There's no definitive data that actually points to a significant increase in sex trafficking in the host city during the Super Bowl event. The persistent headlines over the years have connected the topics together though, and have led the Super Bowl to become associated with human trafficking awareness campaigns.

While it's a less sensational headline, it is significantly more troubling that sex and
labor trafficking are a problem every day, worldwide. There are 50 million people trapped in modern day slavery. It's enough to fill every seat of Phoenix's State Farm Stadium every day for the next two years.

Dear Saints,

A lifestyle of REPENTANCE is so close to the heart of God.

Indeed, He commands us to  "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!" Matthew 3:2

How, then, can we approach His Throne of GRACE, in repentance?

We invite you to join us every week on Sunday evening, as we explore this vital topic together. We present a different prayer focus each week, leading us into repentance, so that we might approach His Throne of Grace in repentance, presenting ourselves to Him as a pure and a spotless Bride, without spot or wrinkle. (Ephesians 5:27)

Praying together, we desire to fulfill the mandate of Psalm 139:

" Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; 24 And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting." Psalm 139:24

You can join us, any Sunday evening, at 10:00 p.m. EST by calling:

717-908-1983
Access Code: 9301470#

WELCOME!

". . . and if My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

"Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to the prayer offered in this place."
(2 Chronicles 7:14,15)
