US Launches Test Nuclear Missile into Pacific Ocean Amid Heightened China Tensions

The U.S. Air Force confirmed it launched an unarmed Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile from a California base into the Pacific Ocean to show “readiness” of the United States’ nuclear capabilities, about a week after the U.S. military shot down a Chinese surveillance balloon.

An unarmed Minuteman missile was launched at 11:01 p.m. PT from California’s Vandenberg Space Force Base, according to a military news release.

While tensions between the United States and China are elevated after a suspected Chinese surveillance balloon transited over the country, the military described the test as routine. Meanwhile, North Korea paraded its own nuclear attack capability by showcasing about a dozen intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBM) in downtown Pyongyang this week, according to reports and video footage published online.

The U.S. ICBM, which was equipped with a test reentry vehicle, was tested as part of “routine and periodic activities intended to demonstrate that the United States’ nuclear deterrent is safe, secure, reliable and effective to deter twenty-first century threats and reassure our allies,” the release said.

“Such tests have occurred over 300 times before, and this test is not the result of current world events,” it said. (Epoch Times) Read more here.

- We pray that You would grant wisdom to our leaders regarding the tension between China and the United States. Keep us alert, Father,  we pray in Jesus name.

‘Pure act of the Holy Spirit’: Asbury University revival humbles students before the Lord

What began as part of a scheduled chapel service on Wednesday morning at Hughes Auditorium in Wilmore, Kentucky, has since transformed into a constant impromptu gathering.

Alexandra Presta, a senior at the university who is also the executive editor for the campus newspaper The Collegian, has witnessed the revival and reported on it.

Presta told The Christian Post on Friday morning that after the chapel service concluded on Wednesday, “roughly 30 students kept going.” They've been joined by others since then.

The chapel service featured a sermon by speaker Zach Meerkreebs based on Romans 12 and the topic of “love in action,” Presta told CP.

“I had left for a few minutes but then felt called to return. Since then, it hasn't stopped. It's been a mix of worship, testimony, prayer, confession, silence,” she explained, calling it “a full experience of the Holy Spirit.”

Presta estimated that as many as 1,000 people have come to the revival gathering since it started, noting that while “some have come and gone,” there are others who “have slept on the floor and continued to praise God nonstop.” (Christian Post) Read more here.

- Thank You for this revival in Kentucky! As happened in the past from the Asbury campus, we pray that this revival will continue to grow and will spread to other states.

- "Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you?" (Psalm 85:6)

Turkey earthquake fault lines mapped from space

It seems almost insensitive to start to have a deep dive into the science behind Monday's earthquake events in Turkey.

More than 22,000 people are already confirmed dead and an unknown number still lie trapped, with the window for their rescue closing rapidly.

And yet the science will go on. The insights gleaned from this event will save lives in the future.

Take a look at the map on this page. It is the most precise yet produced of how the ground lurched in response to the enormous energies that were unleashed.

The data behind it was acquired in the early hours of Friday by the European Union's Sentinel-1A satellite as it traversed north to south over Turkey at an altitude of 700km (435 miles).

The Sentinel carries a radar instrument that is able to sense the ground in all weathers, day and night.

It is routinely scanning this earthquake-prone region of the world, tracing the often very subtle changes in elevation at the Earth's surface.

Except, of course, the changes on Monday were not subtle at all; they were dramatic. The ground bent, buckled and in places ripped apart.

Researchers use the technique of interferometry to compare "before" and "after" views. But you do not really need to be an expert to see the consequences for Turkey in the latest Sentinel map.

The red colours here describe movement towards the satellite since it last flew over the country; the blue colours record the movement away from the spacecraft.

It is abundantly clear how the ground has been deformed along and near the East Anatolian Fault line.

For both the Magnitude 7.8 quake that struck first on Monday at 01:17 GMT and the Magnitude 7.5 event at 10:24, the motion is "left-lateral". That is to say: whichever side of the fault you are on, the other side has moved to the left. And by several metres in places.

The shocking thing is that the lines of rupture have gone right through settlements; in lots of places they will have gone right through buildings. (Read more)

- Father God, we thank You for this breakthrough in earthquake prediction! We pray that You will reveal much more knowledge as this data is studied, so people can be prepared and get to safety in time!

FOCUS ON ISRAEL

1. Coalition heads: Court hearing on PM’s fitness for office equivalent to military coup - Times of Israel

Coalition leaders on Saturday railed at the High Court of Justice for hearing a petition seeking Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu be declared unfit for office, claiming that even deliberating such a possibility was tantamount to a military coup.

On Friday, the court gave Netanyahu a month to respond to an appeal filed a day earlier by the Movement for Quality Government, which argues he is in breach of a conflict of interest arrangement prohibiting him from involvement in affairs that could affect his ongoing corruption trial. Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara was also given until March 12 to present her position.

The group specifically cites legislation the government is pushing to drastically curb the High Court’s ability to strike down laws and give politicians full control over judicial picks, parts of which are scheduled to come up for an initial vote on Monday. (Read more)

2. Court gives Netanyahu 1 month to respond to petition to declare him unfit for office - Times of Israel

The High Court of Justice on Friday gave Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu one month to respond to a petition to declare him unfit for office and force him to take a leave of absence.

The Movement for Quality Government in Israel petitioned the court on Thursday, arguing that Netanyahu is in violation of a conflict of interest arrangement that bars him from involvement in matters that could impact his ongoing trial on graft charges.

It cited legislation his coalition is advancing that would drastically curb the High Court’s ability to strike down laws and give politicians full control over judicial picks. (Read more)

3. Death toll from Friday ramming attack rises to 3; rocket fired from Gaza - Israel Hayom

The number of fatalities from Friday's ramming attack in Jerusalem's Ramot neighborhood rose to three on Satruday as one of the victims succumbed to his wounds.

The attack happened around 2 p.m. on Friday when a terrorist drove his car directly into a crowd of people waiting at a bus stop in Ramot, situated in one of the capital's northern areas.

A 20-year-old man, Shlomo Alter Laderman, and 6-year-old Yaakov Israel Pally, died shortly after the incident. Pally's 10-year-old brother, Asher Menachem, died on Saturday at the hospital. The two brothers' father, who was among those critically hurt in the attack, underwent surgery over the weekend. (Read more)

4. Ben-Gvir proposes ‘Defensive Shield 2’ operation as security cabinet to meet - Jerusalem Post

National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir is pushing for a Defensive Shield 2 operation in east Jerusalem as the security cabinet is set to meet Sunday to discuss measures to prevent further terror attacks such as the one that claimed three lives at a Jerusalem bus stop on Friday afternoon.

Ben-Gvir has already spoken with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and asked him to call up reserve Border Police units and to move others from the West Bank into the Palestinian neighborhoods of east Jerusalem.

He has named the pending east Jerusalem operation after the IDF’s West Bank Defensive Shield mission of 2002.

Ben-Gvir wants to move forward with the operation whether or not he receives additional forces and has pushed back at those connected to Netanyahu, who has said that he has no authority to do this. (Read more)

5. Anti-government demonstration: Protesters block highway in Tel Aviv - Israel National News

Thousands are demonstrating this evening (Saturday) near the government complex in Tel Aviv against the government and the planned judicial reform.

As it did two weeks ago following the terrorist attack in Neve Yaakov, Jerusalem, the demonstration opened with a moment of silence to mark Friday's ramming attack in Jerusalem.

Following the speeches, the protesters walked to the Ayalon Highway and blocked the road. (Read more)

1. CDC Adds COVID-19 Vaccines to Child Immunization Schedule - Epoch Times

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) added COVID-19 vaccines to its routine immunization schedule for children and adults on Thursday, attracting criticism for the decision.

According to the CDC’s 2023 immunization schedule for children and adolescents, two or three doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been recommended beginning with infants who are just six months old. Children in the age group of 6 months to four years, and five years to 11 years are recommended COVID-19 vaccines from Moderna or Pfizer. Among children aged 12 to 18, Novavax vaccines are also recommended in addition to Pfizer and Moderna.

Though the CDC has added COVID-19 vaccines to the recommended list, it has not mandated the vaccines. The agency does not have the authorization to do so, but local and state jurisdictions can, and many mandate most of the vaccines on the schedule. However, there are hardly any states that make flu vaccinations mandatory in public schools.

Lawyers have said they’ll sue any state that requires COVID-19 vaccination to attend school and many officials have vowed not to implement such a requirement. (Read more)
-  Father God, we pray You protect us from any mandates of this vaccine, and we pray it will be reversed from the routine immunization for children.

- "But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one." (2 Thessalonians 3:3)

2. Nevada Governor Declares State Of Emergency After Pipeline Leak - Daily Caller

Nevada Gov. Joe Lombardo declared a state of emergency Friday night after a California pipeline that carries gas to Las Vegas and Phoenix shut down, the Las Vegas-Review Journal reported.

The pipeline leak triggered panic gas buying in the Las Vegas Valley according to a local CBS affiliate, and locals reported that some gas stations were empty. Around 205 gallons of gasoline leaked from a pipeline at a pumping station in Long Beach, California according to the Las-Vegas Review Journal.

Kinder Morgan, the pipeline operator, told The Associated Press that the leak was discovered Thursday, and that its pipelines were shut down while they worked to resolve the issue. According to Clark County, only one of two major pipelines that feed the Las Vegas area was shut down.

“We are currently monitoring the situation, believe we have adequate supply, and do not anticipate an immediate impact on gas availability,” read a statement in Fox5 Vegas released by Clark County spokesperson, Erik Pappa.

Clark County also declared a state of emergency in coordination with Gov. Lombardo. (Read more)

- We pray this leak is resolved quickly and all pipelines will remain open.

3. Ohio Avoids 'Tragedy of Epic Proportions' as Train Derailment Evac Lifted - Newsweek

Residents of the town of East Palestine in Ohio, near the border with Pennsylvania, have been allowed to return to their homes following a train derailment that led to a toxic chemical leak.

Hundreds of residents from the area surrounding a railroad were forced to evacuate on Friday. Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro on Monday urged residents in his state within a 1-mile radius to evacuate and those within 2 miles to shelter in place.

Officials said they had decided to initiate a controlled burn of vinyl chloride due to the risk of tanker cars exploding. They warned, however, that it would send toxic gases phosgene—used during World War I—and hydrogen chloride into the atmosphere.

In a joint decision with Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, the evacuation order was on Wednesday lifted as monitoring hadn't found levels of toxic chemicals to be above safe limits in either the air or water. Monitoring is ongoing. (Read more)

- Father, we praise You for the quick action taken by the authorities in this matter.
We ask that, by Your Hand, any remaining fumes would simply blow out to sea, without harming anyone or anything on the ground.  Amen.

- "First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgiving be offered for everyone - for kings and all those in authority— so that we may lead tranquil and quiet lives in all godliness and dignity. " (I TIm. 2:2)

4. Damar Hamlin: My Brush with Death Was Part of ‘God’s Plan’: It’s ‘Greater than Any Game’ - Christian Headlines

Less than six weeks after suffering a cardiac arrest on national television, Buffalo safety Damar Hamlin on Thursday walked onto a stage and told a cheering crowd that his brush with death was part of God’s plan for his life. Hamlin appeared in person at the 12th annual NFL Honors Awards show, standing in front of the first responders and medical personnel who helped save his life.

“I would like to just thank God for even being here,” Hamlin said as he began a two-minute speech. “Every day, I am amazed that my experiences could encourage so many others across the country and even across the world — encouraged to pray, encouraged to spread love, and encouraged to keep fighting, no matter the circumstances.”

Hamlin, 24, fell backward on the field Jan. 2 after taking a blow to the chest while making a tackle in a game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Medical personnel performed CPR to revive him. The game was suspended.

At the time, many television viewers feared he had died.

“Sudden cardiac arrest was nothing I would have ever chosen to be a part of my story,” Hamlin said Thursday. “But that's because sometimes our own visions are too small, even when we think we're seeing the bigger picture. My vision was about playing in the NFL and being the best player that I could be. But God's plan was to have a purpose greater than any game in this world.” (Read more)

- Thank You for this praise report from Damar Hamlin. We are grateful You spared his life as a testimony to others!

5. Governor becomes anti-trans hero: Pledges ban on mutilations for kids - WND

Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt received two standing ovations Monday from the state's lawmakers as he called on them to send him a bill banning mutilating "gender transition surgeries" and transgender hormone "therapies" performed on minor children in the state.

"We must protect our most vulnerable — our children," Stitt said in his State of the State speech at the Capitol in Oklahoma City.

"After all minors can’t vote, can’t purchase alcohol, can’t purchase cigarettes. We shouldn’t allow a minor to get a permanent gender altering surgery in Oklahoma. "That’s why I am calling on the Legislature to send me a bill that bans all gender transition surgeries and hormone therapies on minors in the state," he said.

Earlier Monday, a pro-"transgender" group operating under the slogan "Trans Lives Matter" "occupied" the Oklahoma Capitol's rotunda, but their demonstration only seemed to embolden Stitt, who declared in his speech: "As governor, I will never shy away from calling out right from wrong. I will not be intimidated by partisan interest groups or make decisions based on groupthink. I will continue my responsibility to lead, not follow." (Read more)

- Father God, we offer You praise for this action being taken by the Governor of
Oklahoma! We especially honor him for his boldness in stating that he will "never shy away from calling out right from wrong." We ask that the governors in our other 49 states would take heed to his style of leadership, and follow suit where they reign. Praise God!

6. Risch, Crapo, Tuberville Lead Effort to Block Illegal VA Abortion Rule - Office of Idaho Senator Mike Crapo

U.S. Senators Mike Crapo (R-Idaho), Jim Risch (R-Idaho), Tommy Tuberville (R-Alabama) and 24 other Republican Senators introduced a joint resolution of disapproval under the Congressional Review Act (CRA) to nullify an illegal U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) rule that provides abortion services through the taxpayer-funded VA health care system.  The CRA gives Congress the authority to review major rules issued by federal agencies before they take effect. If Congress disapproves of a rule via resolution, the rule will have no force or effect under the law.

“The Supreme Court has ruled it is the states’ ability to protect the right to life.  This rule is another example of the Biden Administration’s federal overreach to advance its abortion agenda," said Crapo. "My commitment to protecting the rights of the unborn remains unchanged, and this thinly-veiled workaround the law wrongly forces taxpayers to fund abortion in a time when our national debt continues to grow at an unprecedented rate.”

“Taxpayer dollars cannot fund abortions, and any attempt by the VA to provide abortions must be stopped. Not only is it against the law for any VA to perform an abortion, but the new rule the Biden administration proposed would circumvent state laws,” said Risch.  “This joint resolution of disapproval highlights House and Senate Republicans’ commitment to protect life and prevent the Biden administration from implementing this deadly rule.  I will do everything in my power to protect the unborn, including fighting this administration each step of the way in their abortion agenda.” (To read the names of all 24 Republican
Senators who have signed this joint resolution, please go here.)

- Father God, we are blessed by this action being taken now by these Republican senators to protect the right to life at the state level. Thank You, O Lord,
for this effort to curtail this overreach at the federal level. Praise God!

- (Please join us in praying that this joint resolution would be passed by the full Senate.)
"He who has begun a good work in you will continue it until the day of Christ Jesus." (Phil. 1:6)

7. State Department Says Chinese Spy Balloon Contained Technology to Monitor Communication Signals - Breitbart

The Chinese spy balloon that flew over the continental United States last week was outfitted with antennas likely capable of collecting communications, and the United States will “explore” options to take action against Chinese entities involved in sending the balloon, a United States official said.

The Biden administration determined that the suspected Chinese spy balloon shot down on Saturday by the United States military was operating with electronic surveillance technology capable of monitoring communications signals, according to a senior State Department official on Thursday, multiple news outlets reported.

“High-resolution imagery from U-2 flybys revealed that the high-altitude balloon was capable of conducting signals intelligence collection operations,” the official said in reference to the Air Force’s high-altitude reconnaissance plane, Politico reported.

The official noted that the equipment on the Chinese spy balloon was “inconsistent” with what would be aboard a weather balloon since it had “multiple antennas to include an array likely capable of collecting and geo-locating communications.”

According to CNN, the official said that the balloon was “part of a PRC (People’s Republic of China) fleet of balloons developed to conduct surveillance operations,” which are “often undertaken at the direction of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA).” (Read more)

- Father God, we praise You that so much data has already been uncovered regarding the functioning of these spy balloons. We ask that any data already taken by our enemy, China, be destroyed by Your mighty hand, and that nothing else can now be captured by their military. Protect us, O Lord, we pray, amen and amen!

- "But let all who take refuge in you be glad;
let them ever sing for joy.
Spread your protection over them,
that those who love your name may rejoice in you."

(Psalm 5:11)

8. House Oversight chair: China has ‘massive spy ring’ in US, says problem is a ‘lot bigger’ than spy balloon - Fox News

China steals billions worth of U.S. intellectually property and maintains a "massive spy ring" in U.S. institutions, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., said Sunday.

Comer argued during an appearance on ABC's "This Week" that the problem of Chinese surveillance was "a lot bigger" than spy balloons floating over the country. Comer bashed President Biden for allowing China's craft to cross the continental U.S., but said the failure of the Biden administration to combat intellectual property theft was the true issue.

"You know, China continues to steal our intellectual property. They continue to steal our patents. They manipulate their currency. We believe they have a big footprint in academia with a massive spy ring within our research universities where they continue to steal our hard-earned research and development," Comer said.

"So China is a problem, and this administration thus far hasn't set a very good example of standing up to China. I think that, you know, shooting the balloon down in the Atlantic once it flew over all the military bases, including my own Fort Campbell, Kentucky, it's very disturbing," he added. (Read more)

- Father God, we continue to pray that You deliver us from ALL evil. Amen.

- "Deliver us from evil . . ." (Matthew 6:13)

9. Breaking! US military 'decommissions' unidentified flying object over Great Lakes region - Fox News

The U.S. military on Sunday shot down another unidentified flying object over Lake Huron in Michigan. It was the third time in as many days and the fourth overall since Feb. 4 that an "unidentified object" was shot down in North America.

Rep. Jack Bergman, R-Mich., confirmed that the U.S. military has "decommissioned another "object" over Lake Huron.

Rep. Elissa Slotkin, D-Mich., tweeted that the object had been "downed" by U.S. Air Force and National Guard pilots.

"Great work by all who carried out this mission both in the air and back at headquarters. We're all interested in exactly what this object was and its purpose," Slotkin tweeted. "As long as these things keep traversing the US and Canada, I'll continue to ask Congress to get a full briefing based on our exploitation of the wreckage."

"We’ll know more about what this was in the coming days, but for now, be assured that all parties have been laser-focused on it from the moment it traversed our waters," she said. (Read more)

- Again, Father God, we see that the prayers of Your people are being answered, almost day after day now, as the miliary continues to take action to protect our airspace from foreign intrusion. Thank You, Abba, amen and amen!

- "And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work and preserve me for His heavenly kingdom. To Him be glory forever and ever. Amen!" (2 Timothy 4:18)

Scientists fear a Great Toxic Dustbowl could soon
emerge from the Great Salt Lake
As the lake shrinks, what's left behind could poison the lungs of over 2.5 million people, experts say.

(CNN) -- Like the rest of the West, Utah has a water problem. But megadrought and overconsumption aren't just threats to wildlife, agriculture and industry here. A disappearing Great Salt Lake could poison the lungs of more than 2.5 million people.

When lake levels hit historic lows in recent months, 800 square miles of lakebed were exposed -- soil that holds centuries of natural and manmade toxins like mercury, arsenic and selenium. As that mud turns to dust and swirls to join some of the worst winter air pollution in the nation, scientists warn that the massive body of water could evaporate into a system of lifeless finger lakes within five years, on its way to becoming the Great Toxic Dustbowl.

"This is an ecological disaster that will become a human health disaster," warned Bonnie Baxter, director of the Great Salt Lake Institute at Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah. "We know about dust storms, we know about particulate pollution, we know about heavy metals and how they're bad for humans," she told CNN. "We see a crisis that is imminent." Read More

'Jesus Is Real, God Is Real, Heaven Is Real': Woman Dies and Visits Heaven After Heart Attack

At first, Janelle Wooford thought she was having indigestion. When her pain got worse, she called 911. Then, moments after the EMTs arrived, Janelle says everything went white, and she experienced the afterlife.

"I didn't have pain at all. What is everyone back on earth doing? I wasn't worried about that. I wasn't worried about anything and I was just overwhelmed with the peace and the joy and the glory of it all," Janelle recalls.

It all started with a heart attack that killed her. That's when Janelle's spirit was transported to Heaven. . . .

"The next thing I know is I was just in a bright, bright place and was overwhelmed with joy and peace and happiness," Janelle said as she found herself in Heaven. "I was looking around at everything, everyone, just trying to see who all was there. It was a place of comfort. It was like a familiar place. I knew people that I loved were there, and I was looking to see what all was there and who all was there. It was just beautiful. No pain, no fear, just peace, comfort, joy. It was amazing. Why would you want to leave? I didn't." . . .

"I really believe the Lord let me go through this for my daughter," Janelle says of her Heavenly experience. "So, that she can have that reassurance to know, truly know, that Jesus is real, God is real, Heaven is real and it's all worth it. To know that whatever you go through on this earth, in this earthly life, as bad and as hard as it is, it's worth it to know Jesus as your savior and to trust God with all you're going through."

"There is nothing on this earth that can even give you a comprehension of how amazing and glorious the peace and the joy is up there. The knowledge of knowing that Heaven is there waiting on me, on everyone that trusts and believe in Him – it's just amazing." (CBN) Read more here.

- Abba, we thank You for the amazing affirmation of heaven! May it bring comfort and assurance to those who struggle in faith regarding living in eternity with You. Use this woman's testimony not only within her family but among those who will hear of her powerful experience. We give You PRAISE for using Your saints to bring You glory!

- "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also." (John 14:3)

Crown Him with Many Crowns

To listen to this classic hymn, CLICK HERE

Words: Matthew Bridges
Music: George Elvey

Scripture: His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. Revelation 19:12

Lyrics:
Crown Him with many crowns,
The Lamb upon His throne.
Hark! How the heav’nly anthem drowns
All music but its own!
Awake, my soul, and sing
Of Him who died for thee;
And hail Him as thy matchless king
Through all eternity!

Crown Him the Lord of life,
Who triumphed o’er the grave,
And rose victorious in the strife
For those He came to save.
His glories now we sing,
Who died, and rose on high,
Who died eternal life to bring,
And lives that death may die.

Crown Him the Lord of Heav’n,
Enthroned in worlds above,
Crown Him the king to whom is giv’n
The wondrous name of Love.
Crown Him with many crowns,
As thrones before Him fall;
Crown Him, ye kings, with many crowns,
For He is king of all.
