States Have Become The New Battleground For Religious Liberty
|
|
State elected officials across the country from Michigan to North Carolina to Nebraska are pushing legislation this year that will create a heated debate about the rights of religious Americans.
Faith-based bills are becoming more common as Americans push their representatives to protect their rights in medical care, therapy and employment. Multiple pieces of legislation have been introduced for the upcoming year with the goal of protecting religious communities, while some would limit protections for religious citizens.
One bill from state Republican Rep. Thomas Beach of South Carolina titled the “Live and Let Live Act” would protect religious Americans in the state from being discriminated against by the government if they have different views on marriage, sexual orientation and gender identity. NORAD Temporarily Shuts Down Airspace in Montana After 'Radar Anomaly'
|
|
North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) temporarily shut down the airspace in central Montana after detecting a “radar anomaly,” the command said in a statement late Saturday evening.
With the cooperation of the Federal Aviation Administration, North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) implemented a temporary flight restriction airspace in central Montana on Feb. 11, 2023, to ensure the safety of air traffic in the area during NORAD operations. The restriction has been lifted. NORAD detected a radar anomaly and sent fighter aircraft to investigate. Those aircraft did not identify any object to correlate to the radar hits. NORAD will continue to monitor the situation.
Before NORAD issued the statement, Sen. Jon Tester (D-MT) tweeted about an “object,” saying he was receiving regular updates. (Breitbart) Read more.

First Balloons, Now Space Lasers: Chinese Satellite Blasts Green Lights Over Hawaii
|
|
Chinese spy balloons aren’t the only strange thing flying over U.S. airspace as of late.
Numerous green laser lights were spotted over Hawaii on Jan. 28, initially believed to be from a NASA satellite that monitors the thickness of ice sheets on earth. However, the claim was retracted on Feb. 6, and responsibility was instead attributed to a Chinese atmospheric monitoring satellite.
The National Astronomical Observatory of Japan published a photo of the lasers on Jan. 28 saying they were “thought to be from a remote-sensing altimeter satellite ICESAT-2/43613,” the NASA satellite. Then, on Feb. 6, NAOJ released an updated report and said it was unlikely to have come from the NASA satellite due to the trajectory of the lasers.
NASA scientist Dr. Alvaro Ivanoff determined via a simulation that the culprit was likely China’s Daqi-1/AEMS satellite, according to Science Alert. (Daily Caller) Read more here.

1. Israeli MKs call for sovereignty in the Jordan Valley - JNS
Leaders from across the Israeli political spectrum on Sunday called on the government to declare Israeli sovereignty over the Jordan Valley.
In a panel discussion organized by NGO “Ribonut” (sovereignty), Knesset member Dan Illuz (Likud) told JNS, “Sovereignty in the Jordan Valley is a crucial goal for the entire state of Israel,”
Many speakers emphasized that sovereignty not only enjoys broad political consensus in Israel today, but is moreover more achievable than sovereignty over all of Judea and Samaria. (Read more)

2. Israel moves to reverse 2005 Disengagement, starting in West Bank - Jerusalem Post
Israel took its first small step toward the reversal of the 2005 Disengagement, with ministers approving the legislation that would pave the way to rebuild the four northern Samaria settlements destroyed in that year.
“History was made today,” the Samaria Regional Council enthusiastically stated after the Ministerial Legislative Committee voted on a bill, which although it applies solely to northern Samaria, is seen as symbolic to the overall Gaza pullout in which 21 settlements were evacuated.
Right-wing politicians have pushed over the years to advance such legislation, including six failed attempts at the Legislative Committee, where prime ministerial approval is needed for the passage of a bill. (Read more)

3. Border policeman critically wounded in second Jerusalem stabbing attack in hours -JNS
(February 13, 2023 / JNS) An Israeli Border Police officer is fighting for his life after being stabbed by a terrorist and hit by friendly fire at a checkpoint to the entrance to Shuafat in northeastern Jerusalem on Monday.
The 13-year-old assailant pulled a knife on security personnel who had boarded a bus during a routine inspection at the checkpoint, police said. A civilian security guard opened fire at the suspect, hitting the Border Police officer.
The victim was evacuated to Hadassah Medical Center with serious stab wounds to the head and a bullet wound to the thigh.
The suspect was subsequently arrested. (Read more)

4. Stabbing attack in the Old City of Jerusalem - Israel National News
A 17-year-old boy arrived near the Western Wall after he was stabbed at the Chain Gate of the Old City of Jerusalem.
Magen David Adom (MDA) medics and paramedics treated the teenager at the scene, and evacuated him to Hadassah Ein Kerem Medical Center in mild to moderate condition.
"The wounded man arrived at the tunnel near the Western Wall conscious, with a stabbing wound to his body. He told us that he was stabbed near the Chain Gate and ran towards the Western Wall. We provided medical treatment that included stopping the bleeding and dressing the wound, and evacuated him in light and stable condition for further treatment at the hospital," said MDA medics Yehuda Zand and Baruch Weissman. 5. Global condemnations of Israel pour in over planned outpost legalizations - Times of Israel
A flood of international condemnations began pouring in on Monday after Israel announced that its cabinet had approved moving toward legalizing nine wildcat outposts deep in the West Bank, in response to a series of terror attacks in Jerusalem.
The criticism came from the US, Europe and much of the Arab world, including countries that have diplomatic ties with Israel.
One country that does not have relations with Jerusalem but is highly sought after by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s new government is Saudi Arabia, which was among those to lash Israel over the outpost legalizations.(Read more)

1. United States Sanctions Six Chinese Firms amid Spy Balloon Incident (breitbart.com)
The U.S. Commerce Department on Friday announced sanctions against six Chinese aerospace companies in connection with the Chinese spy balloon that U.S. military officials shot down last weekend after it traversed U.S. airspace.
The six companies were added to an export blacklist because of their links to the People’s Liberation Army aerospace programs, “including airships and balloons and related materials and components,” according to the department.
“The [People’s Republic of China’s] use of high-altitude balloons violates our sovereignty and threatens U.S. national security,” said undersecretary of commerce for industry and security Alan Estevez. “Today’s action makes clear that entities that seek to harm U.S. national security and sovereignty will be cut off from accessing U.S. technologies.”
- Lord, we do pray against any armed conflict between the US and China. But we also plead the Blood of Jesus over our nation, and ask for Your mighty arm of protection to rest over our country.

2 .DOJ Sought to Jail Jan. 6 Defendant and Police Beating Victim Victoria White for Meeting With Lawmakers on Capitol Hill (theepochtimes.com)
Federal prosecutors on Feb. 10 asked U.S. District Judge John Bates to have January 6 defendant and police beating victim Victoria White jailed because she met with GOP lawmakers on Capitol Hill.
Judge Bates did not order White to be taken into custody. He did bar her from appearing at the U.S. Capitol or the congressional office buildings unless she gets advance permission from the Pretrial Services Agency (PSA).
Shortly after arriving at the United States Courthouse in Washington D.C. for a status hearing on her criminal case, White learned that prosecutors were seeking to have her jailed because her visits to Capitol Hill earlier in the week violated her terms of pretrial release.
The PSA reported White’s visits to Capitol Hill to the court as a violation. Prosecutors then asked for her pretrial release to be revoked, White’s attorney, Nicole Cubbage, told The Epoch Times.
- Lord, once again we pray for the Jan 6 defendants to be treated with justice and truth. Let this woman be vindicated after she was beaten by Capitol police. Simple attendance at an event should not be grounds for such attacks.

3.Emails: Nat'l Archives, Biden Lawyers Secretly Coordinated on Classified Docs (breitbart.com)
The National Archives on Friday released 74 pages of emails showing an Archives lawyer coordinating with President Joe Biden’s attorneys to secretly retrieve classified materials from the Penn Biden Center before the 2022 midterm elections.
According to House oversight Chair James Comer (R-KY), the Archives was previously instructed by either the White House or the Department of Justice (DOJ) to hide initial revelations of the Biden classified document scandal from the American people.
In addition, the establishment media reported at least three times that Biden and the DOJ agreed to hide the scandal from public view with likely no plans to disclose it until the scandal was leaked to CBS News on January 9, weeks after the initial trove was found by Biden’s personal lawyers November 2.
The emails released Friday due to a Freedom of Information Act request filed by Bloomberg, show the Archives secretly coordinating with and accommodating Biden’s personal attorneys to retrieve classified records. The emails also show questions were raised about whether classified materials were also stored in Boston and Philadelphia.
- Lord, this constant collaboration between agencies and the White House has created havoc with truth. We stand for the truth to be revealed and that no collusion to harbor evil be allowed.

4.Ad Network Owned by Microsoft Is Using Foreign Disinformation ‘Experts’ to Blacklist Conservative Media Companies (breitbart.com)
The Global Disinformation Index (GDI), a foreign think tank headquartered in the United Kingdom, released an assessment of American online media designed to blacklist conservative media outlets and choke off their advertising revenue. The information is kept on what GDI calls its “Dynamic Exclusion List.”
Ad networks — including most prominently Xandr — which is owned by Microsoft — are now using this list to refuse to allow advertising on conservative media websites.
Microsoft has yet to respond to a request for comment regarding Xandr’s use of the Dynamic Exclusion List, which is censoring conservative outlets.
GDI in December released its report that detailed the alleged “disinformation risk” for the American online media market in partnership with the Global Disinformation Lab (GDIL), a think tank at the University of Texas at Austin that generates policy recommendations and solutions to combat disinformation.
The GDI report on the American online media landscape reviewed 69 news outlets, and listed ten outlets it found are the most at risk of spreading disinformation, and ten outlets that are the least likely to spread disinformation. GDI rated conservative sites as having the highest risk for spreading disinformation and liberal websites as the most trusted.
- Lord, we ask that all censorship and political bias be removed from this company, all Big Tech and all media outlets. Let us all find repentance in a move of Your Spirit.

5.House Intel Chairman Mike Turner: The U.S. Has Holes In Homeland Defense Infrastructure That Need Fixing | The Daily Wire
House Intelligence Chairman Mike Turner (R-OH) said in an interview Sunday that the U.S. has holes in its homeland defense infrastructure that have been exposed by the recent incursions of foreign objects into U.S. airspace.
Turner told CNN’s Jake Tapper on “State of the Union” that he believes President Joe Biden has turned “trigger-happy” after receiving intense criticism for allowing a suspected Chinese spy balloon to cross the entire country before shooting it down.
“I would prefer them to be trigger-happy than to be permissive. But we’re going to have to see whether or not this is just the administration trying to change headlines,” he said. “But what I think this shows, which is probably more important to our policy discussion here, is that we really have to declare that we’re going to defend our airspace.”
- Lord, we ask that You protect our airspace, our waters, our land against any and all threats foreign or domestic.

6.Republicans Are Trying To Repeal One Of The Biden EPA’s Most Far-Reaching Regulations | The Daily Caller
Republicans are ramping up efforts to eliminate the Biden administration’s expansive Waters of the United States (WOTUS) Rule, which they say has a negative impact on landowners.
The rule, currently under review in the Supreme Court, defines what “waters of the United States” are federally protected under the Clean Water Act, a law that establishes boundaries and permit requirements for discharging pollutants into protected water. Under the Trump administration’s 2020 Navigable Waters Protection Rule, protected areas were scaled back, but the Biden administration’s WOTUS definition released Dec. 30 expanded the coverage; Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed a lawsuit against Biden’s WOTUS in late January, and almost 150 members of Congress introduced a resolution against it last week.
On Friday, Paxton filed a motion for a preliminary injunction to halt the WOTUS rule’s implementation after filing the initial lawsuit on Jan. 18, contending that the EPA expanded its power beyond the limit placed on it by Congress to regulate only “navigable waters.”
- Lord, we pray for this rule to be halted, as farmers and land owners who have small ponds and streams that are not “navigable” have been under fire from the Federal government. Let Your justice reign over the water of the United States.

7.SUZANNE DOWNING: Biden’s Fumble On Corporate Taxes Would Leave Retirees Injured On The Field | The Daily Caller
During his State of the Union address, President Joe Biden showed that when it comes to taxes, he is playing a game of yards, because companies, in his view, simply make too much money.
In his “Finish the Job” speech, Biden ran right up the middle of the field of investments set aside by workers who for decades thought they had made wise decisions on their own retirement plans.
Biden, by threatening to add even more corporate taxes, could harm the investments of tens of millions of Baby Boomers, Gen-Xers, Millennials, and Gen-Zers.
Of course, the president promised that Americans making less than $400,000 will not have to pay a penny more in taxes under his plan. But this is a head fake. A tax on corporate profit is a tax on retirement income.
The federal treasury has already collected $1.03 trillion in fiscal year 2023 from individual and corporate income taxes. But it’s never enough. The U.S. government has spent $1.45 trillion in fiscal year 2023, which is $17 billion more than the year before, give or take a few hundred million.

8. Progressive talk about replacing Biden flames out | The Hill
As President Biden prepares to launch another White House bid, the nascent movement to find a replacement to run in his place has flamed out, with Democrats in both wings of the party pleased with the expected direction of his campaign and no alternative in sight.
Progressives have wondered how Biden will position himself in 2024, having seen him both tack to the middle and veer to the left at different points in office.
But they got a major sign of reassurance after this week’s address: more liberal firepower is in the works.
“I have to say, the speech was very good,” said Angelo Greco, a Democratic consultant who worked on Sen. Bernie Sanders’ (I-Vt.) presidential campaign. “As far as Biden can be pulled to the left and signal what his priorities are … I thought it was masterful.”
Progressives were indeed delighted with much of what they heard on Tuesday night, when Biden laid out what many consider to be their most pressing priorities around taxes, entitlement programs, health care and reforms for massive industries like pharmaceuticals and oil.
- Lord, we pray for a solid Conservative Republican to become president after the 2024 election. Nothing is too hard for You. We bind the falsehoods, and corruption of previous elections and ask that You release the Heavenly Host to war against the evil that is pervading our land. We also pray strongly for a move of The Holy Spirit to bring conviction of sin for repentance.

9.Alabama Democrats want to ban employers from forcing workers to get microchipped | Fox Business
Alabama Democrats want to make it illegal for public and private employers in the state to force their employees to get microchipped.
A bill pre-filed for the state Legislature's upcoming session would make it a felony for state agencies, private businesses, insurance providers, or bail bondsmen in the state to require employees to be implanted with a microchip as a condition of employment or services.
The bill defines a microchip as "a device subcutaneously implanted in an individual that is passively or actively capable of transmitting personal information to another device using radio frequency technology."
"The term does not include any device used in the diagnosis, monitoring, treatment, or prevention of a health condition that only transmits information necessary to carry out the diagnosis, monitoring, treatment, or prevention of that health condition," the bill states.
- Lord, we praise You that at least some Democrats have seen the danger in microchipping employees. We pray that this bill passes quickly.
- “Also it causes all, both small and great, both rich and poor, both free and slave, to be marked on the right hand or the forehead, so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark, that is, the name of the beast or the number of its name. This calls for wisdom: let the one who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man, and his number is 666.” (Revelation 13: 16-18)

Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker is giving God all the glory after booting the winning field goal that secured his team’s 38-35 win against the Philadelphia Eagles during Sunday’s Super Bowl LVII.
Butker said during a postgame press conference it’s essential for players to hit the field and focus on what they can control.
“I kind of had the easy job there,” he said. “Offensive line did a great job blocking, great snap, great hold, and thankfully the ball went through, and all glory to God.”
Butker also spoke with Sports Spectrum’s Jason Romano, sharing the importance of faith and prayer in his life. The star player said it was a “blessing” to be at the Super Bowl a third time in four years, and said he is resolute about putting first things first.
“It’s the most important thing,” he said of his Christian faith, adding he knows his identity can’t be placed in football and must come from the Lord. “If I didn’t have faith in God, I don’t think I’d be the father I am, the husband I am, the kicker I am. That kind of sets a tone for everything else…that gives me the strength to go do everything I need to.”

NASA Invites Public to Virtually Share in Excitement
of Crew Launch
|
|
|
The public is invited to take part in virtual activities and events ahead of the launch of NASA’s SpaceX Crew-6 mission to the International Space Station. Liftoff is targeted for 2:07 a.m. EST Sunday, Feb. 26, from Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
The mission is NASA’s sixth crew rotation flight involving a U.S. commercial spacecraft carrying crew for a science expedition aboard the microgravity laboratory. The Crew-6 mission will carry NASA astronauts Stephen Bowen and Warren “Woody” Hoburg, as well as UAE (United Arab Emirates) astronaut Sultan Alneyadi and Roscosmos cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev to the orbital outpost.
Members of the public can register to attend the launch virtually. The virtual guest program for this launch includes curated launch resources, timely mission updates, and a virtual guest passport stamp following a successful launch.

In Austin, pastors and worship leaders were flat on their faces for hours.

A revival is taking place on the campus of Asbury University in Kentucky. The Asbury Collegian reports that during a call of confession last Wednesday, Feb. 8, at least 100 people fell to their knees and bowed at the altar. Since then, people have been giving testimonies, reading scripture, and praying in the ongoing revival. The paper says students, professors, and local church leaders have taken part. Alexanda Presta, the editor of the student-run website The Asbury Collegian, wrote in an article published on Feb. 8, "As a senior, I have never witnessed anything like this."
Presta described the scene for her readers inside the university's Hughes Auditorium. "Peers, professors, local church leaders and seminary students surround me— all of them praying, worshipping, and praising God together. Voices are ringing out. People are bowing at the altar, arms stretched wide," she wrote. "A pair of friends cling to each other in a hug, one with tears in her eyes. A diverse group of individuals crowd the piano and flawlessly switch from song to song. Some even sit like me, with laptops open. No one wants to leave. The Holy Spirit was tangible in the room," Anneli White a student at the University of Kentucky and a member at Immanuel Baptist Church told Kentucky Today. "Chains were broken, confession happened, and God was praised as holy, holy, holy."
