How the L.A. Wildfires Are Sparking a Spiritual Revival
The recent wildfires sweeping through Los Angeles have left a trail of devastation that is hard to comprehend. Thousands of acres have burned, families have lost homes and entire communities are grappling with the emotional and physical toll. Yet, in the midst of this unimaginable tragedy, something remarkable is happening: people are flocking to churches in numbers not seen in years. Pastors and chaplains across the city are witnessing what some are calling a “revival through disaster.” Drew Sams, senior pastor at Belair Church, shared that many who used to attend church only for Christmas or Easter are now showing up every week. “People have lost schools, homes, and even their church buildings,” he said. “But they’re finding hope and comfort in God during this crisis.”

Police chaplain Steve Wilber describes the wildfires as a “great leveler,” bringing together people from all walks of life. Families who might never have crossed paths are now standing shoulder to shoulder, leaning on one another for strength. Wilber has seen an outpouring of faith as people, facing their deepest fears, make new commitments to Christ. “When people are hurting, there’s an openness to finding hope,” he said. “And that’s exactly what the church is offering.” As reported by CBN News, this surge in church attendance has been a powerful reminder of the resilience of faith. While flames may destroy buildings, they cannot extinguish the human spirit—or the ability of God to bring beauty from ashes. (Charismanews) Read More Here

- Father, we rejoice that You are faithful to always bring beauty out of ashes. We praise You for Your deep compassion upon the broken-hearted and celebrate continual testimonies of many turning towards the LORD as their source of strength and comfort. Provide the needs of each family as they process the loss. We declare in Jesus Name that this unprecedented tragedy in California is now bringing an abundant harvest into the Kingdom of God, replacing all darkness with the LIGHT of Christ. All Glory to our LORD! In the mighty Name of Yeshua-Amen.

- "You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives". (Genesis 50:20)

Hamas Frees American-Israeli Keith Siegel, 2 Other Hostages in Exchange for 187 Prisoners

Hamas militants on Saturday released three hostages, including American-Israeli dual nationa Keith Siegel, in exchange for 183 Palestinian prisoners.

Siegel was turned over in Gaza City about two hours after Israelis Yarden Bibas and Ofer Calderon were released in the southern city of Khan Younis.

“The Prison Service concludes the fourth round of terrorist releases, as part of Operation ‘Wings of Freedom’ to return the hostages home,” the authority said in a statement.

Also as part of the cease-fire, the Rafah Crossing between Gaza and Egypt opened up for the for the first time in nine months. Israel agreed after Hamas released the last living female hostages in Gaza.

The hostages were seized during Hamas’ Oct. 7, 2023 terrorist attack. Seven American citizens were among around 250 taken hostage during Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack. Militants killed around 1,200 and the Hamas-run Health Ministry claimed more than 47,400 have been killed during the war. Read more

- Thank You, Lord, for this American’s release. We pray that You will make sure that all releases continue to bring closure and hope to those families involved.  We also pray for protection over Israel from the releases of terrorists required in the “deal.”

- “Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name.”  (Hebrews 13:15)

Coming Down Like a Missile: Former FAA Safety Rep Says Plane in Philadelphia Crash Appeared 100% Out of Control

Former Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Safety Team representative Kyle Bailey said Friday evening on Fox News that the jet caught on camera crashing in northeastern Philadelphia appeared “100% out of control.”

Around 6:30 p.m. local time, videos surfaced showing a small jet crashing into a neighborhood in northeastern Philadelphia, with images and footage depicting the plane erupting into a fireball. The FAA confirmed the crash in a statement, identifying the aircraft as a Learjet 55 that had been departing from northeastern Philadelphia Airport en route to Springfield-Branson National Airport in Missouri.

On “Hannity,” Fox’s Sean Hannity began discussing the Learjet 55, adding that his pilot friends had described the aircraft as “a sports car in the air.” He then asked Bailey if this type of jet is different from the “average commuter jet.”

“That’s exactly right, Sean. You have to be ahead of that airplane at all times, or it will get control of you. That plane was doing in excess of 10,000 feet per minute rate of descent, and it didn’t even make it to 2,000 feet after takeoff,” Bailey said. “Right after takeoff, the controller was asking, calling for the airplane to respond. There was no response by the flight crew. There was no communication.” Read more

- Father, as the investigation into this horrific crash that caused the loss of a child progresses, we ask that all information be revealed. We pray that all family members and witnesses be given Your comfort. We pray for healing for those who were hit by shrapnel. In all, we pray that Your Spirit will bring a revelation of Your love and repentance to them.

- “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” (Matthew 5:4)

DC Plane Crash: What to Know About the Mistakes Made Leading up to the Fatal Collision

Reviews of the moments leading up to Wednesday’s fatal midair crash involving an Army helicopter and an American Airlines passenger jet have revealed several failures and mistakes.

In normal operating conditions, air traffic control for helicopters and planes at Reagan National Airport is handled by two operators. However, on Wednesday, the duties were combined, leaving just one person to handle both duties, The New York Times reported.

The outlet, citing a source who was not authorized to speak publicly, noted that there is usually only one air traffic controller after 9:30 PM, but a supervisor let one leave early. The midair collision that left 67 dead occurred just before 9:00 PM local time.

However, a person familiar with the matter explained to Fox News Digital that the positions get combined regularly if air controllers have to step away from the console for breaks, or if they are involved in a shift change. Controllers may also have to step away when air traffic is slow, the person explained, speaking on condition of anonymity to discuss internal procedures. Read more

- Father, whether this was caused by horrific errors or accidental mistakes, we pray that all hidden problems be revealed and corrected.

Israel Defense Forces demolished 23 buildings containing terrorist infrastructure in the Palestinian Authority terrorist hotbed city, Jenin. Sunday’s destruction (Feb. 2) came as part of the counterterrorism effort to eliminate terrorist infrastructure in Judea and Samaria.

1. Live updates: Trump tariff threats materialize - The Hill

President Trump  is slated to make good on his campaign promise and enact steep tariffs on the country’s top three trading partners Saturday.

For months, Trump has threatened Canada and Mexico with import taxes as high as 25 percent, which experts say could immediately increase domestic food and fuel prices. He has also called for an additional 10 percent tariff to be placed on China.

The president has claimed these taxes are necessary to offset economic harms, but also alleged Canada and Mexico are refusing to take the steps to curb the flow of migrants and fentanyl to the U.S.

“Look, Mexico and Canada have never been good to us on trade,” he said Thursday during remarks from the White House, adding, that “they’ve treated us very unfairly on trade, and we will be able to make that up very quickly because we don’t need the products that they have. Read more

- Lord, we pray against any trade war that would cause more difficulties for our citizens and we bind tightly the plans of the enemy. We ask that Trump’s plans to level trade be completed quickly and that all nations ‘come to the table’ without resistance or backlash.

- “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” (Ephesians 6:12)

2. Two planes aborted landings at DCA due to helicopters in flight path in week before crash: report – Fox

Military helicopter flights forced at least two planes to abort landings at Reagan National Airport in the week before a deadly collision presumably killed 67 people on Wednesday, according to a report.

On Tuesday night, just one day before the collision between an American Airlines flight and an Army Black Hawk helicopter, a different plane alerted the air traffic control tower that it had to abort its landing to avoid collision with a helicopter, the Washington Post reported.

Yet another plane arriving at DCA from Charlotte scrubbed its landing on Jan. 23, again because of a helicopter.

"They had to circle back around because there was a helicopter in the flight path," said Richard Hart, a passenger on the Jan. 23 flight who spoke to the Washington Post. "At the time I found it odd. ... Now I find it disturbingly tragic." Read more

- Lord, we ask that all problems relating to the congested airports around the nation be solved, both regarding both military and commercial and that enough competent controllers be hired to fill all roles.

- “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”  (John 10:10)

3. Hakeem Jeffries' call to fight Trump agenda ‘in the streets’ sparks backlash as a 'Maxine Waters moment' - Fox

Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., found herself trending on social media Friday after House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., pledged Democrats would fight President Donald Trump's agenda "in the streets."

The Democratic leader made the controversial remarks when asked about Democratic New York City Mayor Eric Adams' lack of pushback against Trump, and whether it made him a "good fit" to lead the Big Apple.

"Right now, we're going to keep focus on the need to look out for everyday New Yorkers and everyday Americans who are under assault by an extreme MAGA Republican agenda that is trying to cut taxes for billionaires, donors, and wealthy corporations and then stick New Yorkers and working-class Americans across the country with the bill," Jeffries said.

"That's not acceptable. We are going to fight it legislatively. We are going to fight it in the courts. We're going to fight it in the streets." Read more

- Lord, the Democrats seemingly have nothing to offer America but hate for anything Trump. We pray for Your Spirit of repentance to flow mightily over all who are creating havoc due to their lack of common sense and hatred.  We bind any actions from this rhetoric that will create violence or intimidation to any Republicans.

- “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)

4. ROOKE: What Were They Thinking? Pentagon Employees Use Work Computers To Access Chinese AI Chatbot – Daily Caller

In case you missed it, U.S. Defense Department employees connected their work computers to Chinese servers to access DeepSeek’s new AI chatbot, sparking concerns over national security risks regarding China.

These Pentagon employees spent two days on the new Chinese chatbot before the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) shut off access late Tuesday, according to Bloomberg. DISA is essentially the U.S. Department of Defense’s IT department. It maintains and secures communications capabilities “from the battlefield to the White House.”

DeepSeek became a global phenomenon over the weekend when the chatbot went live in U.S. app stores, quickly becoming the top free app in the Apple App Store. Because of this, Americans watched as tech stocks lost billions on Monday due to its arrival, creating even greater fears that China has already leapfrogged U.S. dominance in AI development.

However, there is an even more sinister issue here. DeepSeek’s privacy policy admits that the AI chatbot not only stores user data on servers in China but also controls that information under Chinese law. It doesn’t take a Silicon Valley elite to understand the national security risks at play when Defense Department employees connect their government computers to China’s new tech. Read more

- “Whoever trusts in his own mind is a fool, but he who walks in wisdom will be delivered.”  (Proverbs 28:26)

5. Defense Department Ends Biden Policy Paying For Service Members’ Abortion Travel – Daily Wire

The Department of Defense ended a Biden-era policy that paid for women in the military to travel for abortions if they were in a state with pro-life laws in place.

The DOD rescinded the abortion travel policy on Wednesday, citing an executive order from President Donald Trump to make sure there was no taxpayer funding for abortion. The Biden policy paid for the travel, lodging, and food expenses of a woman seeking an abortion if she was stationed in a state banning abortion.

The DOD has not disclosed how frequently the policy was used, though it was in place for over two years and enacted shortly after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade.

Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL), who put a hold on military promotions en masse for nearly a year due to the policy, celebrated the news.

“For the past two years, I have been sounding the alarm about the Pentagon’s illegal and immoral practice of using taxpayer dollars to fund abortions,” he said. “I took a lot of heat when I stood alone for nearly a year in holding senior Pentagon promotions over this —  but as of today, it was all worth it. The Biden administration treated taxpayers like their own personal Piggy bank that they could use to bankroll their woke agenda.” Read more

- Lord, we thank You for this reversal of policy. Taxpayers should never have to pay for abortions, whether military or secular. We pray that repentance will come to all, and that the knowledge of the sanctity of life will begin to permeate America.

- “Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out.”  (Acts 3:19)

6. EXCLUSIVE: Army Sued After Stonewalling Release Of Records On Training Slides Calling Pro-Life Orgs ‘Terrorist Groups’- Daily Caller

A national security watchdog sued the Army Friday to force them to hand over records pertaining to PowerPoint slides used in a training that called well-known pro-life organizations “terrorist groups.”

The Center to Advance Security in America (CASA) filed the lawsuit Friday to enforce a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request pertaining to revelations in July 2024 that U.S. Army base Fort Liberty used education materials labeling certain pro-life groups as “terrorist groups,” which was shown to over 9,000 soldiers over seven years. Pro-life groups faced various attacks under former President Joe Biden’s administration, with the Department Of Justice (DOJ) frequently targeting the groups with prosecution under the FACE act, which prohibits the “violent, threatening, damaging, and obstructive conduct intended to injure, intimidate, or interfere with the right to seek, obtain or provide reproductive health services.”

“Members of the Pro-Life movement being labeled as terrorists by the United States Army is outrageous and chills free speech among Americans dedicated to protecting the lives of the unborn.” CASA Director James Fitzpatrick told the Daily Caller News Foundation. “The American people deserve to know about the specific records and communications which led to the development of this slide show. CASA’s FOIA requested this information and this lawsuit will force the Army to provide it immediately.” Read more

- Lord, we pray that the Army will provide the requested materials, that all materials used to target pro-life groups in Military training will be brought forward and never be used again. We ask that truth prevail.

- “Every word of God proves true; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.” (Proverbs 30:5)

What Netanyahu and Trump hope to achieve together in Washington

Phase 2 of the deal is intended to call for a permanent ceasefire and the return of all living hostages. Phase 3 would see all bodies returned and rebuilding efforts commence. Israel will likely be pressed to release even more murderers in exchange for the remaining hostages in both phases.

It is strongly believed that Netanyahu will impress upon Trump the need to resume fighting in Gaza. The surreal scenes of the hostage transfers so far demonstrate that Hamas remains in charge in Gaza, retaining a potent albeit heavily diminished fighting force.

Yet, many warn that Trump may not be onboard with an Israeli sovereignty push. He famously rejected Netanyahu’s effort to declare sovereignty in the Jordan Valley toward the end of his first term. (JNS.org) Read more here.

Netanyahu arrives in US, IDF targets terror infrastructure in Jenin
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been welcomed at Blair House [the President's guest house across from the White House] in Washington on Sunday evening ahead of his meeting with US President Donald Trump.

"The fact that this would be President Trump’s first meeting with a foreign leader since his inauguration is a testimony to the strength of the Israeli-American alliance. It’s also a testimony to the strength of our personal friendship," he added.

Netanyahu said he would discuss with the president Israel's war against Hamas, the release of all the hostages, and the Iranian terror axis.

The prime minister also said he would discuss normalization with Saudi Arabia. “I will look to broaden the circle of peace and achieve a remarkable era of peace through strength,” Netanyahu said. (JNS.org) Read more here.

NASA Flight Tests Wildland Fire Tech Ahead of Demo

NASA is collaborating with the wildfire community to provide tools for some of the most challenging aspects of firefighting – particularly aerial nighttime operations.

In the future, agencies could more efficiently use drones, both remotely piloted and fully autonomous, to help fight wildfires. NASA recently tested technologies with teams across the country that will enable aircraft – including small drones and helicopters outfitted with autonomous technology for remote piloting – to monitor and fight wildfires 24 hours a day, even during low-visibility conditions.

Current aerial firefighting operations are limited to times when aircraft have clear visibility – otherwise, pilots run the risk of flying into terrain or colliding with other aircraft. NASA-developed airspace management technology will enable drones and remotely piloted aircraft to operate at night, expanding the window of time responders have to aerially suppress fires.

“We’re aiming to provide new tools – including airspace management technologies – for 24-hour drone operations for wildfire response,” said Min Xue, project manager of the Advanced Capabilities for Emergency Response Operations (ACERO) project within NASA’s Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate. “This testing will provide valuable data to inform how we mature this technology for eventual use in the field.” Read More
