TODAY'S TOP STORY
Challenging Kremlin, US says Russia planning ‘false flag’ pretext for Ukraine war

The United States said Thursday that Russia is on the verge of unleashing a massive military attack against Ukraine, dismissing Moscow’s claim to be pulling forces back, as artillery fire hit a Ukrainian kindergarten.

In a dramatic, previously unscheduled speech to the United Nations in New York, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said intelligence showed Moscow could order an assault on its neighbor in the “coming days.”

With US and other Western governments saying they see no evidence to support Russia’s claim to be withdrawing, Blinken challenged the Kremlin to “announce today with no qualification, equivocation or deflection that Russia will not invade Ukraine. State it clearly. State it plainly to the world.” (Times of Israel) Read more.

- Father God, in all aspects of this very confusing and dangerous scenario, we continue to pray in the Spirit, knowing that You are still in control of world events. We bless You, O Lord, amen.

-
"Now in the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know what to pray for as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words;" (Romans 8:26)

There was material damage, but no casualties were reported.

In addition to the president’s visit, the sides discuss bilateral ties, which have suffered badly over the past decade, but have shown signs of potential improvement in recent months. (Read more)

4. ‘No Place for Hateful Ideologies’: Israel Welcomes Australia’s Move to Fully List Hamas as Terror Group - Algemeiner

Israeli top officials welcomed the Australian government’s intention to list the whole of the Palestinian Hamas group as a terrorist organization, calling the move a “meaningful step.”

Announcing the move on Thursday, Australian Home Affairs Minister Karen Andrews stated that the “views of Hamas and the violent extremist groups listed today are deeply disturbing, and there is no place in Australia for their hateful ideologies.”

“It is vital that our laws target not only terrorist acts and terrorists, but also the organizations that plan, finance and carry out these acts,” she said. (Read more)

5. Bennett to appoint Gabi Portnoy as new cyber chief - Jerusalem Post

Prime Minister Naftali Bennettannounced on Thursday that he will be appointing Gabi Portnoy, CEO of ENvizion Medical and a former IDF Brig. Gen. in intelligence, who served in both Unit 8200 and 9900, as the new chief of the Israel National Cyber Directorate

Portnoy's appointment, with wide support and no known detractors, is expected to be approved by the cabinet on Sunday.

Though Portnoy does not have as extensive a cyber background as predecessors Yigal Unna and Buky Carmeli had, he is viewed as a top-notch candidate with a more than sufficient background in cyber and excellent experience in management.

The post of chief of INCD has been vacant for nearly seven weeks since Unna stepped down on January 5. (Read more)

1. American Truckers Prepare to Drive From California to DC in ‘The People’s Convoy’ - The Epoch Times

California truckers fed up with the federal government’s endless emergency powers mandating masks and vaccines are gearing up for what they hope will become a Canadian-style “freedom convoy” to Washington, D.C., and are set to roll on Interstate 40 heading east from Barstow on Feb. 23.

A national group, called The People’s Convoy, is organizing the truckers who will hit the road for the nation’s capital city to demand the Emergency Powers Act be lifted, ending the mandates, according to Chris Marston, chairman of the American Foundation for Civil Liberties, a non-profit that advocates for civil liberties issues and is helping coordinate the trucker’s protest.

Though previous news reports stated the convoy wouldn’t depart California until March 7, organizers now say the convoy will leave earlier than planned.

“Freedoms can’t wait,” Marston told The Epoch Times. (Read more)

- Father God, we agree! "Freedom can't wait!" Now that so many of us joined in that
seven-minute act of unity with the truckers in Ottawa, we have our own hearts to carry this movement forward in our own nation. We say: Let them roll! In Your Name, amen and amen!

- " . . . he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." (Phil. 1:6)

2. UKRAINE EXPLODES INTO BATTLE - BOTH SIDES ENGAGING - Hal Turner Radio Show

At about 2:30 AM eastern US time on Thursday, shelling and mortar fire from Ukraine forces began hitting both Donetsk and Luhansk.   Ukraine is seven hours AHEAD of U.S. eastern time, so the shelling began around 7:30 PM Wednesday night on the US east Coast time zone.

Reports, mostly from social media, indicate heavy fighting by both sides along what is called the "Line of Contact" between the militias of Luhansk/Donetsk, and the Ukrainian Army.

For much of the early morning hours Thursday since the shelling began, Ukraine has flatly denied firing on either Luhansk or Donetsk.  Ukraine has repeatedly said they are not engaging.   Yet numerous videos from civilian homes in the area, with the clear sounds of shells flying overhead, and of mortars or artillery shells exploding in the distance, and undeniable proof that __ someone __ is attacking.

This story , publishing at 10:16 AM EST, will feature numerous videos and near real-time reports for the next several hours.  Please check back for updates. . . . (Read more and view photographic evidence here.)

- Lord God, even though the mainstream media is not yet reporting on this outbreak of violence, these photos tell the truth. As Your watchmen on the wall, we are fully prepared to "go there first" in intercession, and to engage in this battle where the battle truly lies - in the heavens. Thank You, O Lord, for allowing us this opportunity to stretch out our hands in love to a people who now need desperate prayer. Please cover each one with Your Blood,
according to Psalm 91.

- "9 If you make the Lord your refuge,
if you make the Most High your shelter,
10 no evil will conquer you;
no plague will come near your home.
11 For he will order his angels
to protect you wherever you go." (Psalm 91:9-11)

3. BREAKING Artillery Shelling Reported in East Ukraine Amid Conflicting Statements - Epoch Times

The eastern Ukrainian village of Stanytsia Luhanska was shelled with heavy weapons from the “occupied Donbas” area, according to Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba in Twitter post on Thursday. “Civilian infrastructure damaged. We call on all partners to swiftly condemn this severe violation of Minsk agreements by Russia amid an already tense security situation,” he wrote on Twitter.

Since 2014, the Donbas area has been occupied by what Ukrainian and Western forces say are pro-Russian separatists. A photograph posted online allegedly showed damage to a kindergarten in  Stanytsia Luhanska.

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskiy alleged that pro-Russian forces had shelled a kindergarten, in what he called a “big provocation.” For its part, the Kremlin said Moscow was “seriously concerned” about reports of an escalation after the separatists accused government forces of opening fire on their territory four times in the past 24 hours.

The self-proclaimed Luhansk People’s Republic, one of two rebel regions, said Ukrainian forces had used mortars, grenade launchers, and a machine gun in four separate incidents on Thursday. “Armed forces of Ukraine have crudely violated the ceasefire regime, using heavy weapons, which, according to the Minsk agreements, should be withdrawn,” the separatists said in a statement. (Read more)

- Once again, Lord God, now that we find ourselves in the "fog of war," we can only pray and sing in the Spirit over this region and these actions. May Your will be done, amen.

- "Thy will be done . . ." (Matthew 6:10)

"God rules by His power forever; His eyes behold the nations; let not the rebellious exalt themselves."  (Psalm 66:7)

4. Russia Expels US Embassy’s 2nd-in-Command From Moscow - Epoch Times

The Russian government has expelled the second-highest-ranking U.S. diplomat from the U.S. Embassy in Moscow, according to the State Department. Bart Gorman, the U.S. deputy chief of mission to Russia, was expelled on Feb. 17, a State Department spokesperson told news outlets.

“Russia’s action against [Gorman] was unprovoked, and we consider this an escalatory step and are considering our response,” the spokesperson said.

The spokesperson told news outlets that Gorman had a valid visa and has been in Russia for less than three years.

“We call on Russia to end its baseless expulsions of U.S. diplomats and staff and to work productively to rebuild our missions,” the spokesperson said. “Now more than ever, it is critical that our countries have the necessary diplomatic personnel in place to facilitate communication between our governments." - Father God, we simply ask for a de-escalation of these tensions, and for clear
communication to take place between our two great nations, in Your name, amen.

5. Canada's House of Commons erupts after Trudeau accuses Jewish MP of supporting swastikas – Fox News

The Canadian House of Commons erupted in shouts of condemnation Wednesday after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau replied to a Jewish member of Parliament by accusing members of the opposing Conservative Party of "standing with people who wave swastikas."

Trudeau, a member of the Liberal Party, made his comment in response to being grilled by Conservative MP Melissa Lantsman during a tense, emotional Question Period, which occurs every sitting day in the Canadian House of Commons when members of Parliament ask questions of government ministers, including the prime minister.

Lantsman, who became the first Jewish woman to be elected as a Conservative MP last October, read a 2015 quote from Trudeau when he said, "If Canadians are going to trust their government, their government needs to trust Canadians."

Lantsman contrasted such a sentiment with Trudeau characterizing members of the Freedom Convoy as "very often misogynistic, racist, women-haters, science-deniers, the fringe." Accusing him of fanning "the flames of an unjustified national emergency," Lantsman demanded to know "When did the prime minister lose his way?" (Read more)

- Father God, You are seeing all that is going on in the heart of Trudeau, which poses a real problem for Canadians.  We ask that peace which  starts in heaven be extended for all of Canada and there be a turnaround of hearts changing for the benefit of national peace. Strike down by Your power all the enemies that would incite a deep strand of hatred among the Canadians.  Deal with Trudeau's heart to want peace and goodness for the people of his nation. We pray in the Name of Jesus.

- "When You said, seek you My Face, my heart said unto You, Your face, Lord, will I seek."  (Psalm 27:8)

6. France Warns Iran has “Days” Left to Accept Iran Deal – Times of Israel

Iran has days left to accept a deal on its nuclear program at talks in Vienna, France says, warning that a major crisis would be unleashed if there is no agreement.

“It is not a question of weeks, it is a question of days,” said French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian. “They [Iran[ have a very clear choice, either they unleash a serious crisis in the next days… or they accept an agreement that respects the interests of all the parties,” he tells the Senate. (Read more)

- Almighty God, You have warned Iran that they have a very short time before their destruction is unleashed from all the nations warring against them.  Lord, we ask that You raise up a strong evidence from heaven that their future looks very bleak and their rebellion will be targeted by the living God and destruction will follow.  In the Name of Jesus.

- "Now I am come to make you understand what shall befall your people in the latter days, for yet the vision is for many days." (Daniel 10:13-14)

7. Bank Run? Canada's Top Banks Mysteriously Go Offline - Zerohedge

Days after Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said he would invoke emergency orders to crack down on demonstrators by freezing their bank accounts, five major Canadian banks went offline on Wednesday night, as customers reported their funds were unavailable, according to technology website Bleeping Computer.

Royal Bank of Canada (RBC), BMO (Bank of Montreal), Scotiabank, TD Bank Canada, and the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) were all hit with unexplainable outages on Wednesday evening. Users began reporting issues with banks around 1600-1700 ET, Downdector data showed.

Canadian Twitter users reported they couldn't access their funds at the ATMs. One user took a photo of an error message at one of RBC's ATMs that read, "Tap transactions aren't available for this card." In response, RBC tweeted, "We are currently experiencing technical issues with our online and mobile banking, as well as our phone systems."

"Our experts are investigating and working to get this fixed as quickly as possible, but we have no ETA to provide at this time. We appreciate your patience." (Read more)

- Almighty God, we pray You will bring Justin Trudeau under Your hand and dislodge his power to shut down these five major banks in Canada.  Hold him down now, and release and unlock the funds that these Canadians need to function.  Their normal lives have been devastated by this anti-Christ move of Trudeau.  We call on the highest power of God to bring him under subjection to Your will.  Lord, intervene for the Canadians.  In the mighty Name of Jesus we pray.

- "But the Lord is the true God, He is the living God, and an everlasting king: at His wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide his indignation."  (Jeremiah 10:10)

8. The Cost Of Living In The United States Is Rising To Absolutely Absurd Levels – The Economic Collapse Blog

Most of the time, the vast majority of Americans simply do not care about economics.  And it pains me to say that, because I have been running a website about economics for more than a decade.  But it is true.  Under normal circumstances, most hard working Americans don’t have the time or the energy to debate the finer points of economic policy.  But now things have changed.  Here in 2022, our leaders have messed things up so badly that suddenly just about everyone is feeling the pain.  Most people just want economic conditions to “return to normal”, but that isn’t going to be so easy.

Over the past couple of years, the Federal Reserve has pumped trillions of fresh dollars into the financial system.

You just can’t “undo” that.

And our politicians in Washington have been on the biggest borrowing spree in all of human history.  I think that many of them truly believed that there would never be any serious consequences, but as Forbes has aptly noted, we “are now paying a heavy price for this magical thinking”… (Read more)

- Gracious Father, we pray that the top five who rule the world will be held back from financially destroying America.  They hold a deck of cards that are deadly to our country.  God, we pray You remove this hand of cards and replace it with what Your desires are for all of America.  In the Name of Jesus we pray.

- "You crown the year with Your goodness; and Your paths drop fatness."            (Psalm 65:11)
9. At Least 10 States Pondering 40-Plus Bills Tightening Voter ID Requirements – The Epoch Times

In 10 state legislatures across the nation, more than 40 bills proposing new or more stringent voter identification requirements for registration or in-person voting had been introduced as of Feb. 11, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures.

Missouri and Virginia account for 24 of the 40 bills.

Missouri lawmakers are pondering 13 voter ID bills as part of a package spearheaded by Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft, who has called for a bill requiring a state or federal photo ID to vote in person.

The 11 bills in Virginia are in response to the 2021 adoption of the Voting Rights Act of Virginia before Republicans won the governorship and retook control of the House of Delegates last November. (Read more)

- Father God, we entreat You to enforce any bill that demands honesty and we ask that they be voted into law.  Block all bills that would allow illegal means of voting from this date forward.  Expose the culprits who would attempt to exercise their ungodly evil means of voting.  God, may godliness be followed during these next elections. Bring defeat from heaven any and all wickedness that would make it difficult to hold an honest election.  We trust Almighty God from this time forward.  For we pray in the holy Name of Jesus.

- "When God utters His voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens, and He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth; He makes lightnings with rain, and brings forth the wind out of His treasures."  (Jeremiah 10:13)

10.  Six Republicans Break With Party to Help Confirm Biden’s Controversial Nominee - American Liberty

The United States Senate has narrowly confirmed  to lead the .

As reported by our own Antoinette Aho, Califf faced bipartisan criticism over his drug industry ties. Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) in particular expressed a strong aversion to Califf’s nomination, urging the White House to “nominate an FDA commissioner that understands the gravity of the prescription drug epidemic and the role of the FDA in fighting back against the greed of the pharmaceutical industry.”

Ms. Aho’s report described in detail how Califf’s apathy to the dangerous of chemical abortions led the FDA to lift regulations to permanently allow abortion pills by mail.

Yet that didn’t appear to matter to Republican Sens. Mitt Romney (Utah), Susan Collins (Maine),  Lisa Murkowski (Alaska), Roy Blunt (Mo.), Pat Toomey (Pa.) and Richard Burr (N.C.). [Read more here]

- Lord God, our hearts are grieved by this report.  We ask that You forgive the six members who crossed the line to confirm the nomination of this wicked man. Forgive us, O Lord we pray, amen.

- "Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand; To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people; To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the Lord." (Psalm 149:6-10)

The Moral Responsibility To Resist Injustice

The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, February 17, 2022

Christians have long debated whether there is a moral responsibility to resist injustice, largely because the Apostle Paul writes in Romans 13 to “Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers.” The Bible, however, is full of examples where the higher powers were resisted by men of God. Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt against the Pharaoh’s dictates, and a new nation under God was established. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refused to worship a false god, and were cast into a furnace for it. Daniel prayed to God against the king’s orders and was thrown into the lion’s den. If all authority is appointed by God, as Paul writes, then they are to act justly. This is part of the social contract, making unjust laws no laws.

The social contract is derived from what men call the Law of Nature, which is the basis of all morality as given by God through the Ten Commandments. The Law of Nature commands that we love one another and do no harm to others’ life, health, liberty or possessions. The social contract is the consent of society to submit to a governing body that protects them against the transgressors of the Law of Nature. Herein, is the establishment of laws, judges, and the power to enforce the laws. We are instructed in Romans 12:21 to “Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.” The very next verse says to be subject to the higher powers for they are put in place by God. Overcome evil, but obey authority. Read More

Bennett To Abolish Green Passports in Israel
Israel will not be extending the Green Pass regulations, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett confirmed on Thursday.

The decision was made in a meeting with senior health and other officials. The Green Pass is set to expire on March 1.

Green Pass restrictions had already been reduced earlier this month, such that Israelis no longer have to show their Green Pass, which indicates that they are vaccinated, recovered or have tested negative within the last 24 hours, in order to enter restaurants, movie theaters, gyms and hotels. However, a Green Pass is still required for large gatherings, such as those at event halls or dance clubs.

Experts had said that the Green Pass system was no longer relevant, given the infectiousness of the Omicron variant of the COVID-19 virus. In addition, they decided that antigen testing would continue to be required for those entering senior citizens’ facilities.

The officials are expected to convene again and announce additional easing of restrictions. A formal announcement is expected after all decisions are finalized. (Israel 365 News)

Israel’s Own Trucker Freedom Convoy Heads to Jerusalem

Thousands of vehicles set off on Monday morning from cities across Israel to Jerusalem to participate in a “Freedom Convoy,” calling on the government to lift the state of emergency declared due to the pandemic, according to the event’s organizers.

The convoy, which includes trucks, tractors, cars and motorcycles, plans to travel to the Knesset in Jerusalem and dozens of bridges throughout the day. It is organized around a central message: “Take back the wheel”—meaning undoing the state of emergency and repealing the so-called “major corona law” granting the government special powers to deal with the spread of the virus, organizers said in a statement.

The project, inspired by the Canadian Freedom Convoy, was organized by laypeople and funded via a crowdfunding campaign. (Israel365News) Read more

Ex-Director of National Intelligence Expects More Indictments in Durham Probe

Former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe has said that he believes more people will be indicted as special counsel John Durham’s investigation progresses.

When he was in office, Ratcliffe said he had seen intelligence that suggested that the Democratic National Committee was working on a narrative that tied former President Donald Trump to Russia in 2016. He said then-Obama administration officials had been briefed on the matter at the time.

“[Then-Attorney General] Bill Barr, John Durham, and I, all looking at this intelligence, agreed there was not a proper predicate to open a criminal investigation into the Trump campaign, yet that happened,” Ratcliffe told Fox News on Feb. 14.

Ratcliffe, a former U.S. House member from Texas who was appointed by Trump, said White House officials talked about former CIA chief John Brennan’s notes and “Hillary Clinton’s campaign advisers.”

“Obviously the pleadings talk about Hillary Clinton’s campaign lawyers, now you’re talking about consultants,” he said. Read more

- Almighty God, we lift up our voices in prayer asking You to close the mouths of the liars and the evil ones whose agenda is to destroy Donald John Trump. Father God, we make our appeal to the Court of Heaven and ask You to disarm them from carrying these future indictments any further.  God, speak "The End" to all the lies that were conjured up during the 2016 timeframe against Trump.  Lord, may their wicked intentions be met by holy angels who will defeat all their schemes.  In Jesus' Name we pray.

- "The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?  the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?"  (Psalm 27:1)
The Good News Corner
Christian Crowdfunding Site 'GiveSendGo' Provides Platform for Freedom Convoy after GoFundMe Drops the Peaceful Trucker Protest

GiveSendGo stands for hope and freedom. We recognize the freedoms we have are God-given, not authorized by governments, but rather freedoms that ought to be protected by our governments. GiveSendGo does not condone violence of any form! We believe there's more power in the unity of a peaceful protest than in violent civil unrest. As in any polarized situation, we recognize there will be a few individuals and groups that might intentionally try to incite violence, which will be used to stain this movement by opposing groups. We will not broad-stroke those individual situations as a depiction of what this movement represents as if they were affiliated.

GiveSendGo has also been in contact with the campaign organizers and has received full assurance that all funds raised will go to provide humanitarian aid and legal support for the peaceful truckers and their families as they stand for freedom. "In light of allowing this campaign we have seen an overwhelming outpouring of support from across the globe," said GiveSendGo CoFounder Heather Wilson. This has quickly become GiveSendGo's largest campaign ever and has raised over 4.5 million USD in less than 24 hours.

GiveSendGo will always stand for freedom for those on either side of our current ideological divide. Our hope is first in God and also in the notion that we can be united as free people across the globe, standing in the freedom that was bought for us first at the cross, but also maintained by the blood of courageous men and women who have sacrificed their lives so that we might live in that freedom. Drought plaguing American West worst in 1,200 years,
new study finds
The past 22 years in a drought-stricken portion of North America has been the driest stretch for the region at least since the year Charlemagne was crowned emperor of the Holy Roman Empire, researchers say.

The pulse of the Colorado River has long served as a gauge of the American southwest's water supply, and a new study has found that the intensity of the current megadrought is a threat to its health not seen in over a millennium.

The western United States and parts of northern Mexico are experiencing their driest period in at least 1,200 years, according to a recent peer-reviewed study published in the journal Nature Climate Change.

The scientists used tree-ring records from thousands of trees at hundreds of sites to reconstruct summer soil moisture across the centuries, said Park Williams, one of the authors of the study. Some of the rings were able to give researchers a look at soil moisture dating back to 800 A.D. -- the year Charlemagne was crowned as the first emperor of the Holy Roman Empire.

Earlier research had previously cited 2000 through 2018 as the second-driest period of time for southwestern North America since 800 A.D., with the driest period at that point being a multi-decade megadrought in the late-1500s. That held until the exceptional severity of the drought from 2020-2021, which contributed to record-low water levels, a water shortage declaration at Lake Mead and a depletion in the snowpack.
