Senate passes controversial foreign aid bill sending billions to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan
|
|
Twenty-two Senate Republicans vote yes on $95 billion national security supplemental early Tuesday
|
|
The Senate passed a $95 billion national security supplemental package to assist Ukraine, Israel and the Indo-Pacific after a tedious procedural process that came to an end early Tuesday morning.
The final vote was 70 to 29, with 22 Republicans voting yes. Democratic Sens. Peter Welch and Jeff Merkley, plus independent Sen. Bernie Sanders, voted no.
The supplemental package does not include any border security provisions and comes as the national debt soars above $34 trillion. Calls to offset the spending with cuts elsewhere went unheeded. Several Republicans spent hours — since the beginning of the weekend — collectively filibustering the package on the Senate floor. Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, committed to filibustering the bill for four hours on Saturday and continued early Tuesday.
The package includes $60 billion for Ukraine, $14 billion for Israel, $9 billion in humanitarian assistance for Gaza and nearly $5 billion for the Indo-Pacific. Democrats brought the package up for a vote after Republicans had blocked the $118 billion package that also included numerous border and immigration provisions — negotiated by a group of bipartisan senators and Biden officials — last Wednesday.
The U.S. has already spent more than $100 billion in aid for Ukraine since its war against Russia began in Feb. 2022.
In a press conference Tuesday morning, Sen. Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y. praised the package as "one of the most historic and consequential bills" to ever pass in the upper chamber.
"The responsibility now falls on Speaker [Mike] Johnson, and House Republicans to approve this bill swiftly," Schumer said. "And I call on speaker Johnson to rise to the occasion to do the right thing."
However, a showdown between the two chambers is on the horizon, as Speaker Johnson, R-La., said in a statement Monday evening the House would not pass the Senate's foreign aid package, but instead draft their own bill with border security provisions included.
"The mandate of national security supplemental legislation was to secure America’s own border before sending additional foreign aid around the world," Johnson said. "It is what the American people demand and deserve. Now, in the absence of having received any single border policy change from the Senate, the House will have to continue to work its own will on these important matters. America deserves better than the Senate’s status quo." (Read more)

GOP senator fumes over Biden admin providing veteran medical resources to illegal immigrants
|
|
Sen Tommy Tuberville, R-Ala, seeks to ban use of VA resources on migrants
|
|
President Biden is facing increased scrutiny over his administration providing health care administrative services to illegal migrants amid a worsening border crisis, potentially exacerbating long wait times for American veterans utilizing Department of Veterans' Affairs (VA) facilities.
In an interview with Fox News Digital, Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-Ala., touted his recently introduced No VA Resources for Illegal Aliens Act, which he introduced alongside Rep. Mike Bost, R-Ill., that would ban such action, one of the many problems he says are facing the country as a result of the border "disaster" taking place under Biden's watch.
"[Biden's] decided, OK, we've got to feed all these 10 million people we've let come across the border, we've got to house them, and we've got to give them health care," Tuberville said. "They've opened up care from the doctors in these [VA] community care systems. The lines now in the VA's are getting longer. Our funds that are supposed to go to the veterans are going to these illegal immigrants that are coming across." (Fox News) Read more here.

Houston Church Shooter Identified as Transgender With a Long Criminal History
|
|
A shooter who was killed by off-duty police officers after opening fire at a Houston megachurch while seemingly using a 7-year-old child as a human shield has been identified as a woman named Genesse Moreno, who police said also identified as a man named Jeffrey Escalante.
Police said a woman in her early 30s entered Lakewood Church on Feb. 11 wearing a trench coat and backpack, armed with a long rifle, and began firing.
Before managing to kill anyone, the shooter was taken down by two off-duty officers, one a Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission agent and the other a Houston police officer, according to Houston Police Chief Troy Finner.
“I want to commend those officers. She had a long gun, and it could’ve been a lot worse, but they stepped up and they did their job,” Chief Finner said during a media briefing on the afternoon of Feb. 11.
An affidavit seeking a search warrant for a home in Conroe, Texas, about 40 miles north of Houston, identifies the shooter as 36-year-old Genesse Ivonne Moreno, according to the Associated Press. The warrant was released by the Montgomery County district attorney’s office.
Records cited by the Houston Chronicle and other media outlets, and which are circulating online, show that the shooter also identified as Jeffrey Escalante, who had a long criminal history, including assault, drug, and weapons charges.
“A lengthy criminal history. A woman who thinks she is a man,” Don Hooper, a writer at the Houston Conservative Forum, wrote in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, that featured a series of the shooter’s mugshots over the years.
He noted that the gun used by the shooter had a sticker with the word “Palestine” on it.
Child as Human Shield?
At the Feb. 12 briefing, Mr. Hassig said two people were injured in the incident, including the child who accompanied the shooter.
The other person injured was a 57-year-old man, who was shot in the hip or leg.
Mr. Hassig said the 7-year-old child who accompanied Ms. Moreno was struck in the head in the exchange of gunfire and remains in critical condition.
A Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office spokesperson was cited by the Houston Chronicle as saying on Feb. 12 that the 7-year-old was not expected to survive. (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

1. MK Danny Danon to Arutz Sheva: We can't win with our hands tied behind our back - Israel National News
Knesset member, Danny Danon, spoke to Arutz Sheva - Israel National News, while accompanying former US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, to the Gaza surrounding communities.
MK Danon said, “I think it's crucial to bring dignitaries to see what happened here. When you come here you realize the level of atrocities that took place here. It changes your life. I saw many leaders who came here, who became stronger advocates for Israel. For example, Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who went to the UK and spoke about his experiences. I'm sure Secretary Pompeo, who is a good friend of Israel, will speak about what he saw here and what he felt here. We need our allies to speak up for Israel.”
Regarding the change in the US policy towards Israel, Danon said: "Now we have to talk about the eradication of Hamas. Period. We don't want to hear anything else and when I hear the voices telling us, ‘don't go into Rafah,’ ‘don't do that,’ how can we win a war with our hands tied behind our back. We have to go into Rafah. We have to chase the leadership of Hamas and we have to make sure that everyone in the region will realize that Israel defeated Hamas. Period.” (Read more)

Hamas is returning to power in northern Gaza, IDF Col. (res.) Hezi Nachman said in an interview with 103FM Tuesday morning, adding that the Israeli military isn't doing enough to stop it.

"We are a forum of 150 officers from all sides of the political spectrum with a very simple demand," he explained. 4. IDF airs footage of Hamas leader Sinwar in Gaza tunnel: ‘We’ll catch him, dead or alive’ - Times of Israel
The Israel Defense Forces on Tuesday released footage of what it said was Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar walking through a Gaza tunnel with several of his family members
If confirmed, it would be the first time Sinwar has been spotted since he went into hiding ahead of Hamas’s October 7 terror onslaught. IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari released the footage, as unnamed security officials again leaked to Hebrew media claims that the IDF was closing in on the terror chief. The release of the footage also came as top Israeli, US, Qatari and Egyptian officials were gathered in Cairo for negotiations aimed at reaching an extended truce and hostage deal.
The one-minute-long clip, filmed on October 10, features Sinwar in a tunnel underneath the southern Gaza city of Khan Younis, walking behind what appears to be his wife along with three of his children, who are led by Sinwar’s brother Ibrahim, according to the IDF. (Read more)

5. Trudeau: Rafah protest at Toronto’s Mount Sinai hospital is antisemitism - Jerusalem Post
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau joined a chorus of politicians condemning protesters demonstrating at Toronto’s Mount Sinai Hospital as antisemitism on Tuesday, though defenders alleged that activists were merely marching by the site on their way to the Israeli consulate.
“The demonstration at Mount Sinai Hospital yesterday was reprehensible. Hospitals are places for treatment and care, not protests and intimidation,” said Trudeau. “I strongly condemn this display of antisemitism. In Toronto and across Canada, we stand with Jewish communities against this hate.”
Pro-Palestinian protesters climbed the portico and scaffolding of the hospital and waved Palestinian flags. Marchers chanted “long live the Intifada.” Mount Sinai was founded as a medical institution catering to Jewish patients, and its logo retains a Star of David. (Read more)

We now ask that You bring forward those who can and will prosecute criminal behavior and actions according to the rule of law, because no one is above the law. Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-Ky.) and Ways & Means Committee Chair Jason Smith (R-Mo.) sent a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland on Monday, asking for any records, including recordings, related to Biden’s interview with Hur’s team. - Holy One, we are blessed to see the members of Congress taking this report seriously and moving forward to investigate and retain evidence regarding Joe Biden's records retention. It is good that Congress will cause the investigator to testify as to what grounds he found to speak for a future jury, as well as promoting a blatant double standard regarding President Trump. May there be a positive outcome on behalf of justice and we pray for a striking down of the contemptible double-standard being used in order to skirt the law, in Jesus name.

3. Oregon health officials confirm first human bubonic plague case since 2015 - Fox News
An Oregon resident has been infected with the state’s first case of bubonic plague since 2015, health officials said last week. The resident was likely infected with plague by their symptomatic pet cat, Deschutes County Health Services said in a news release on Wednesday.
Officials said there was little risk to the community since the case was identified and treated in the earlier stages of the disease. No additional cases of plague have emerged during the communicable disease investigation.
The bubonic plague can progress into the more severe and difficult to treat septicemic plague (bloodstream infection) and/or pneumonic plague (lung infection) if not diagnosed early.
The last case of human plague in Oregon was reported in 2015, according to Oregon Health Authority. (Read more)

4. Judge in Trump Georgia case says DA Fani Willis’ alleged ‘improper’ affair ‘could result in disqualification' - Fox News
A Georgia state judge on Monday confirmed that he will hold an evidentiary hearing on Thursday over allegations that embattled District Attorney Fani Willis engaged in an "improper" affair.
Willis was accused of having an "improper" affair with special prosecutor Nathan Wade, whom she hired to help prosecute former President Donald Trump in a sweeping racketeering case related to the 2020 election. Those allegations were first made by Trump co-defendant Michael Roman, who is arguing that Willis’ alleged conduct should disqualify her and her team from the case.
Willis, who admitted to a personal relationship with Wade but denied any conflict of interest, asked the court to cancel the evidentiary hearing slated for later this week. (Read more)

5. Trump asks Supreme Court to extend delay in election case, claiming presidential immunity - Fox News
Former President Trump is asking the Supreme Court to extend the delay in the trial stemming from Special Counsel Jack Smith’s 2020 election interference case, arguing that he has presidential immunity to protect him from prosecution.
Trump attorneys on Monday afternoon filed an emergency appeal with the Supreme Court just days after a D.C. appeals court ruled the former president and 2024 GOP front-runner is not immune from prosecution in Smith's case.
The request is for temporary relief, to stay or block the appeals court mandate from taking effect, which would give the Trump legal team more time to file an appeal to the Supreme Court on the merits of whether a former president deserves immunity from criminal prosecution for actions while in office. 6. McConnell presses Johnson for House vote on Ukraine aid - Just The News
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell on Tuesday pressed House Speaker Mike Johnson to hold a vote on approving foreign aid to Ukraine after the upper chamber approved a security assistance package to provide funding for the war-torn nation.
The Senate on Tuesday morning approved the $95.3 billion aid package after an all-night session. The package also allotted funds to Israel and Taiwan. Speaking to reporters after the vote, McConnell urged the lower chamber to follow suit.
"We've heard all kinds of rumors about whether the House supports Ukraine or doesn't. It seems to me that the easy way to solve that would be to vote," he said. "And I hope the Speaker will find a way to allow the House to work its will on the issue of Ukraine aid and the other parts of the bill, as well." (Read more)

Of course there are some good points in this spending, but overall, it is unacceptable to we, the people and we pray for wisdom and righteous alternatives, in Jesus name.

7. CDC to drop five-day COVID isolation guidelines: Report - Just The News
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is reportedly issuing new guidance that would drop the five-day isolation guidelines for Americans who test positive for COVID-19.
The CDC currently recommends Americans stay home from work and school for at least five days if they test positive for COVID. The federal health agency is expected to announce in April that people can end their isolation if they are experiencing mild symptoms and are fever-free without the aid of medication for at least 24 hours, The Washington Post reported Tuesday.
The planned recommendation, which is the first update from the CDC on the matter since 2021, comes after Oregon and California issued similar guidelines. The proposed guidelines would treat COVID similarly to the flu and RSV. (Read more)

The WHO WEF X Fear Factor Part 1
The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, February 13, 2024
The World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Economic Forum (WEF) have teamed up to bring you, at least virtually, the next lockdown, vaccine-mandating, fear-mongering pandemic. They call it Disease X. On January 17, WEF gave center stage at its Davos, Switzerland meeting the WHO directory general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus in an effort to convince the champions of globalism buy into the WHO global pandemic treaty. The treaty would give WHO control over how disease outbreaks are handled with COVID as the model. On January 19, WHO posted a white paper research response to pathogen X during a pandemic. These people are preparing for a disease that doesn’t exist.
The WHO white paper said WHO has implemented a comprehensive global research strategy and preparedness plan known as the WHO R&D Blueprint for Epidemics, “which ensures research efforts are concentrated on diseases with epidemic or pandemic potential where medical countermeasures and limited or non-existent…Around 200+ scientists from 53 countries are independently evaluating the evidence related to 30 viral families, one core group of bacteria, and “Pathogen X” – an unknown pathogen with the potential to trigger a severe global epidemic. This new approach will also help identify representative viruses (or prototypes) within a viral family as a pathfinder in generating evidence and filling knowledge gaps that may then apply to other viruses of threat in the same family.” Read More

Trump seeks RNC leadership changes to ensure fair and transparent elections across the US
|
|
Former President Donald Trump, on Monday, announced his recommendations for changes within the Republican National Committee, proposing leadership positions for North Carolina GOP chair Michael Whatley, daughter-in-law Lara Trump and campaign senior adviser Chris LaCivita.
As he moves closer to locking up the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, Trump has increasingly been pushing to exert control and install loyalists at the national party committee. And last week, Trump recommended Whatley replace longtime RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel after this month's South Carolina Republican presidential primary.
A source familiar with the change told Fox News Digital at the time that Trump was pushing for Whatley to replace McDaniel because he was "so powerful on election fraud" in 2020.
On Monday, Trump officially announced that he believes Whatley, who currently serves as the national party committee's general counsel, should be the RNC’s next leader. (Fox News) Read more

- Lord God, we thank You that President Donald Trump is respected by those who lead his own party. We thank You, too, for his wisdom in selecting nominees who will lead the Republican Party by standing for truth and coming against election fraud. In all these things, we give You praise, amen and amen!
Holy One, we thank You, too, for being involved in the affairs of Your people. In this matter, we bless Ronna McDaniels as we wish her well in her future endeavors. We pray for these three individuals who have stood through the fire with President Trump to be put in positions of authority with the RNC, and we pray also that every individual who is unable to stand strong in truth and integrity will step down or be removed, in Jesus name. ALERT!!! Countdown is Live: UN Pandemic Treaty
|
|
|
The WHO will decide for YOU, if we don’t ACT NOW! - Pandemic Treaty drawing near
|
|
CitizenGO internal sources from the UN just dropped a bombshell on us:
The radical leftist globalists controlling the UN’s World Health Organization are plotting a so-called 'marathon' - a two-week stretch in Geneva set for this February 19th.
What's the game plan? To ram through and secure critical sections of the Pandemic Treaty to ensure it is accepted by their deadline: May 2024.
We’re against the clock.
Globalists seek to become the global health authority before “the next pandemic strikes.”
But you and I know that this isn't about health - it's about who holds the reins of power in times of crisis and gets billions and billions of Euros in funding for propaganda and power grabs.
Thanks to authoritarian responses to Covid-19 (many say totalitarian), our basic freedoms were put on hold out of fear. Lockdowns, passports, and forced vaccinations were imposed, and anyone who resisted faced major rights restrictions, fines, and jail. (Citizen GO) Read more here.
- Father God, we thank You that, by now, millions of freedom-loving people around the world are aware of this danger and are in prayer over this threat. We thank You, too, Holy One, that You are the GOD who answers prayer! We ask for a fresh infusion of Your grace as we near this finish line, so that this wicked treaty will collapse. Thank You, O God, for hearing our prayer, amen and amen!
- "So shall they fear
The name of the Lord from the west,
And His glory from the rising of the sun;
When the enemy comes in like a flood,
The Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him."

Kamala Harris 'ready to serve' as Democrats sound the alarm about Biden's age: report
|
|
|
Harris was asked about the scrutiny surrounding Biden's age in a recent Wall Street Journal interview
|
|
Vice President Kamala Harris says she is "ready to serve" as concerns over President Biden's age and mental fitness continue to grow, notably among members of their own party.
Harris made the statement during a a recent interview last week before the Thursday release of Special Counsel Robert Hur's report on Biden's mishandling of classified documents, which described the president’s memory as having "significant limitations."
"I am ready to serve. There’s no question about that," Harris told The Wall Street Journal, adding that everyone who observes her work "walks away fully aware of my capacity to lead."
Hur's report recommended no charges against Biden over his actions pertaining to the mishandling of classified documents, partly because he would have a defense at trial as a "sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory."
Republicans piled on Biden following the Hur report's release last week, but Democrats have also begun voicing — or at least admitting — greater concern surrounding Biden's age and whether that could hurt his chances at winning re-election this year.
Former President Bill Clinton's lead strategist, James Carville, argued Saturday that the White House has little confidence in Biden after he turned down a Super Bowl Sunday interview.

Researchers reveal first full passages decoded from famously inscrutable Herculaneum scrolls
|
|
Over 1,000 carbonized scrolls were recovered from the eruption of Vesuvius, a volcano near Naples, Italy, that covered the ancient Roman cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum in volcanic mud.
(CNN) — After using artificial intelligence to uncover the first word to be read from an unopened Herculaneum scroll, a team of researchers has revealed several nearly complete passages from the ancient text, giving insight into philosophy from almost 2,000 years ago.
The Herculaneum scrolls are hundreds of papyri that survived the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79. In their charred state, the ancient documents would crumble if anyone attempted to unroll them, and any writing on surviving pieces would be nearly illegible to the human eye.
By using computer technology and advanced artificial intelligence, researchers can now analyze the Herculaneum scrolls without unrolling and risking damage to the extremely fragile documents. More than 2,000 characters — the first full passages — have been deciphered from a scroll, according to an announcement Monday by computer scientists who launched the Vesuvius Challenge, a competition designed to accelerate the discoveries made on the scrolls. Twenty Years after Founding, Knesset Christian Allies Caucus Wields Global Influence for Israel
|
|
THE KNESSET, JERUSALEM, Israel – Twenty years ago, Israeli Knesset Member Yuri Stern began a one-of-a-kind caucus within Israel's parliament. What began as a small group bridging the gap between Christians and Jews has grown into a global movement. Josh Reinstein currently directs the Knesset Christian Allies Caucus, now commemorating its 20th anniversary. It brings Knesset members and Christian leaders together to support the Jewish state. "It's a commemoration of probably the most significant political development in Israel in the past 20 years, and that is the creation of faith-based diplomacy," Reinstein stated. "When people take their biblical support and turn into real political action, and that started in this building, 20 years ago today – and to have people come from all over the world during wartime to commemorate that and talk about how we can use that to advance the cause of Israel is really a blessing."
Caucus Co-Chair Sharren Haskel noted, "For the first time in Jewish history, the Jewish people are not alone. We have our Christian allies and they're standing with us like never before." Haskel said that while Israel is fighting a war for its survival, the anniversary is a reminder of the importance of Israel's friends. But during this difficult time of emergency, we see how the whole world is turning against us, how they are spreading lies and propaganda, how they support a murderous, radical Islamist terrorist organization; and people, many people, are scared to support Israel," she observed. Haskel added, "And so, this event today of 20 years of the bonds and the friendship between the Jewish and the Christian community is so important because there were so many people coming here, saying out loud, 'We're with you. We're your friend. We're still a bridge and we will make sure that never again means never again.'" CBN) Read More

We pray for Jews and Gentiles to be anchored together, strengthening our spiritual armor as One, as we lift ALL GLORY to Almighty God! In the powerful Name of Yeshua- Amen

"Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. In Your Name."

Words: Johnson Oatman
Music: Charles Gabriel
Scripture: Let us go up to the mountain of the Lord. Micah 4:2
Lyrics:
I’m pressing on the upward way,
New heights I’m gaining every day;
Still praying as I’m onward bound,
Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.
Refrain
Lord, lift me up and let me stand,
By faith, on Heaven’s table land,
A higher plane than I have found;
Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.
My heart has no desire to stay
Where doubts arise and fears dismay;
Though some may dwell where those abound,
My prayer, my aim, is higher ground.
Refrain
I want to live above the world,
Though Satan’s darts at me are hurled;
For faith has caught the joyful sound,
The song of saints on higher ground.
Refrain
I want to scale the utmost height
And catch a gleam of glory bright;
But still I’ll pray till Heav’n I’ve found,
Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.
Refrain
