Senate passes bill to stop shutdown, sending it to President Biden's desk
|

The bill included disaster aid and relief for farmers but not a debt ceiling suspension requested by President-elect Trump
|

Senators voted to pass a new version of a stopgap spending bill early Saturday morning after the midnight deadline for a partial government shutdown came and went.
The Senate advanced the third version of a short-term spending bill by 85 to 11, and it will now head to President Biden's desk, who has already signaled that he will sign it.
An original agreement on a short-term spending bill was released earlier in the week, totaling 1,547-pages and including a number of policy provisions and disaster aid.
But soon after its release, billionaire Elon Musk and other conservative critics publicly blasted the measure, ultimately resulting in it being condemned by President-elect Donald Trump and Vice President-elect JD Vance.
"Republicans must GET SMART and TOUGH. If Democrats threaten to shut down the government unless we give them everything they want, then CALL THEIR BLUFF. It is Schumer and Biden who are holding up aid to our farmers and disaster relief," Trump and Vance said in a lengthy statement opposing the bill on Wednesday afternoon.
The initial spending measure would have extended government funding levels for fiscal year 2024 through March 14 and provide over $100 billion in disaster aid for those affected by storms Helene and Milton in the U.S. Southeast earlier this year. There was also a $10 billion provision for economic assistance to farmers in the bill.
Meanwhile, as of Thursday, the U.S. national debt was at $36,167,604,149,955.61 and was continuing to climb rapidly. (Fox News) Read more here

Father God, give us eyes to see how You orchestrated the content and speed of this legislation. We ask You to continue moving on hearts, creating unity in support of Your son, Donald and the vision You gave him for our nation. Holy Spirit, we ask You to speak into the minds and hearts of Senators and Congressmen, create in them a willingness to negotiate until common ground can be found, put an end to the blocking of legislation for political reasons alone. Father God, restore hearts of true love and concern for our nation, restore integrity to all those You "set up" to speak for Your people in or outside of our Nation's Capitol. Putin Ready for Compromises Over Ukraine in Talks with Trump
|

Russian President Vladimir Putin said he was ready for “compromises” over Ukraine in
possible talks with President-elect Donald Trump but said Russian forces were in a strong
position.
Speaking in Moscow during his annual end-of-year press conference, Putin said the military was “advancing” toward achieving its goals in Ukraine.
While Putin said Russian forces were advancing across the entire front in Ukraine, he also
said, “We have always said that we are ready for negotiations and compromises.”
“Soon, those Ukrainians who want to fight will run out, in my opinion, soon there will be no
one left who wants to fight. We are ready, but the other side needs to be ready for both
negotiations and compromises,” he said.
During a question and answer session after his main speech, he was asked if he would be
willing to meet Trump, who will be inaugurated on Jan. 20, 2025. Putin said he had not spoken to Trump for several years but would be happy to meet with him. (Epoch Times)

Holy Spirit, we ask You to move on the minds and hearts of both President Putin and President Zelensky; give each one Your vision for ending the killing and destruction in their countries. The American People Voted for DOGE...But They are Getting Pork Instead
|

The Swamp does not intend to go quietly into the night. Just last month, the American
people elected Donald Trump, and Trump received tremendous praise for appointing Elon
Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy to head up a “Department of Government Efficiency” which
will attempt to greatly reduce government waste. Even many on the left are excited to see
what Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy can do once Trump takes office. But for the
moment, it is business as usual in Washington, and our Congress critters are poised to
substantially increase government spending and government waste. House Speaker Mike
Johnson is pushing a 1,547 page “continuing resolution” that is absolutely loaded with pork. Johnson personally negotiated this deal with the Democrats, and ultimately he gave the Democrats almost everything that they wanted. Needless to say, a lot of Republican
members of Congress are very upset about this…
Republicans are bristling at Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) over the 1,547-page spending
deal released mere days ahead of the deadline, full of pork and disappointment.
The continuing resolution (CR) released Tuesday night — negotiated on the GOP side by
Johnson — includes tens of billions of dollars in waste and includes funding for controversial items, including a pay raise for members of Congress as well as a one-year extension of the State Department’s Global Engagement Center (GEC), which funds organizations that censor conservative media including Breitbart News.
There have been a lot of really bad spending bills that have been pushed through Congress in recent years, but this is one of the worst.

- Abba, it would appear that President Trump's intentions of changing how the US Government runs is already causing confusion. Father God, Speaker Johnson and all GOP Representatives are having to change their "business as usual" practices and intentionally create different goals based on President Trump's promises to those who voted him back into office. We ask You for revelatory downloads on what and how You intend for things to be done and that includes how this continuing resolution is to be created and passed. Jesus, we ask You to speak to all those in the House who are called by Your name, put it on their hearts to ask YOU what the steps are to getting this accomplished on Your terms. You will tell them, but they must learn to ask before stepping out making decisions. Jesus, we ask You to be direct with them, give them ears to hear what needs to change, how old ways of "doing life" must shift in response to Your new vision for their lives, for the life of all in our nation. We ask this in the name Jehovah Jireh, The Lord Will Provide.

5 dead, many injured after man drives into German Christmas market in suspected terror attack
|

|
A festive Christmas market in Eastern Germany erupted into chaos after a car was driven into a group of people in the city of Magdeburg on Friday in a suspected terrorist attack.
Five people were reportedly killed and more than 200 were injured in the incident, according to reports. Officials continue to investigate the incident, according to a spokesperson for the local rescue service, as reported by AFP.
Several of the injured are said to be in critical condition.
U.S. State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller called the incident an "attack," writing in a social media post: "We are horrified by the attack today in Magdeburg, Germany. We send our condolences to those affected and stand by our friend and Ally Germany."
In an update on social media, the Magdeburg Police Department said in a translated post that the suspect is a 50-year-old Saudi doctor. They said their current assumption is that he was a "lone perpetrator."
The BBC reported the driver drove some 400 meters across the market before he was subdued by police officers who pointed guns at him and reportedly yelled at him not to move. (Fox News) Read more here

1. IDF hits Houthi targets in Yemen after missile fired at central Israel - JNS
The Israeli Air Force struck Houthi targets in Yemen overnight Wednesday, after intercepting a missile over central Israel fired by the Iranian-backed terror group.
An elementary school in the Ramat Efal neighborhood of Ramat Gan, just east of Tel Aviv, suffered severe damage when shrapnel hit it following the interception. According to the city’s mayor, the impact caused a partial collapse of the school’s central building, prompting the cancellation of classes for the day. No injuries were reported.
Following an initial investigation into the impact, the Israel Defense Forces said on Thursday afternoon that “it is likely that the damage was caused by partial interception of the missile launched from Yemen and that the missile warhead was the part that exploded and damaged the school.”
The IDF further stated that the Israeli Air Force and Home Front Command are conducting a more in-depth probe, which the findings will be made available to the public when complete. (Read more)

2. After Yemen strikes, Netanyahu says Israel hitting Houthis on behalf of ‘entire world’ - Times of Israel
Hours after the Israel Defense Forces carried out intense airstrikes against Houthi targets in Yemen, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Thursday that Israel’s operations are protecting not just itself from the Iran-backed rebel group but the entire world.
“They are not only attacking us,” Netanyahu said in a video statement. “They are attacking the entire world. They are attacking international shipping and trade routes.”
Dozens of planes struck Houthi targets along Yemen’s western coast and, for the first time, in the rebel-held capital Sana’a, in the early hours of Thursday morning.
“When Israel acts against the Houthis, it acts for the entire international community,” Netanyahu said, adding that the US and many others “understand this well.” (Read more)

3. Knesset mulls law to block establishment of a Palestinian state - World Israel News
The Land of Israel lobby in the Knesset is proposing a new bill for consideration by the Constitution, Law, and Justice Committee to help prevent the establishment of a Palestinian state.
The law, in the form of an amendment to the Referendum Law, would require either a supermajority of 80 MKs to approve the transfer of territory or an absolute majority of 61 of the 120 legislators plus a public referendum.
Lobby heads MKs Yuli Edelstein (Likud), Limor Son Har-Malech (Otzma Yehudit), and Simcha Rotman (Religious Zionism) wrote a letter to the committee, which Rotman heads, explaining their reasoning.
“There is broad agreement in Israeli society and in the Knesset that a Palestinian state should not be established,” they noted. “On our initiative, the Knesset voted on a declaration against a Palestinian state by a large majority. The law that is being promoted is the practical expression of the Knesset’s decision.” (Read more)

4. IDF downs suspicious target off Israeli coast; PM warns Houthis - Israel Hayom
The Israeli Air Force intercepted a suspicious aerial target in the Mediterranean Sea on Thursday noon before it crossed into Israeli territory. In accordance with standard policy, the IDF said no warning sirens were activated because there was no need to warn any specific population center.
The IDF said that the target was a drone that had been most likely launched from Yemen, and that it was successfully intercepted off Tel Aviv.
The incident came just hours after Israel struck Yemen after it continued aggression in the form of drones and missiles on key Israeli cities, including a ballistic missile attack on the Tel Aviv area on Thursday morning, which destroyed an elementary school.
Addressing the situation and recent attacks in Yemen, Prime Minister Netanyahu stated: "After Hamas, Hezbollah and the Assad regime in Syria, the Houthis are almost the last arm of Iran's axis of evil. They are finding out, and will find out, the hard way that whoever harms Israel – will pay a very heavy price. Netanyahu continued: They are not attacking just us – they are attacking the entire world. They are attacking the international shipping and commercial lanes. Thus, when Israel takes action against the Houthis, it is acting on behalf of the entire international community. The Americans understand this very well, as do many others." (Read more)

5. FBI foils massive terror attack on Israeli consulate in New York - Israel National News
A Virginia resident was arrested this week for allegedly planning a mass casualty attack at the Israeli Consulate General in New York City.
The suspect, Abdullah Azz al-Din Taha Muhammad Hassan, was arrested after identifying the intended target and sharing detailed instructions on how to manufacture and use an explosive device with an undercover FBI agent.
The suspect is also alleged to have running several pro-ISIS and pro-Al Qaeda social media accounts, promoting violence against Jews, and reportedly intended to distribute livestream footage of the violent attack.
Israeli Consul General in New York Ofir Akunis thanked the American authorities for foiling the plot: "The State of Israel deeply appreciates the swift action and cooperation of the American security services in thwarting today's attempted attack on our consulate."

1. Newt Gingrich Offers “Obvious” Fix for Congress Spending Mess – Discern Report
Chaos in Congress erupted Wednesday after Republicans opposed a stopgap measure to keep the government funded until spring, which was introduced late Tuesday. On “Jesse Watters Primetime,” Watters questioned what Gingrich would do if he were the current House speaker, stating how the issue needs to “stop.”
“Well, I think, first of all, the whole idea of the DOGE Committee has already paid for itself by having Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy begin to point out all the dumb things in this bill,” Gingrich said. “The obvious answer is kill this bill, pass a very short continuing resolution to get the new Republican Senate installed and negotiate a new bill before January 20 that covers the rest of the year and gets the job done,” Gingrich said. 2. Trump to Inherit Years of Steep Inflation: 4 Things to Know – The Epoch Times
When President Donald Trump left office in January 2021, the annual inflation rate was 1.4 percent. When he returns to the White House next month, the consumer price index (CPI) will be close to 3 percent.
Consumer inflation has surged by 21 percent on a cumulative basis since January 2021. Many goods and services have increased at a higher level over the past few years, including, for example, electricity (28 percent) and bread (25 percent).
Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen doesn’t expect prices to drop to pre-pandemic levels.

3. Trump’s Border Czar Anticipates Collateral Arrests in Mass Deportation Plan – The Epoch Times
Tom Homan, former acting director of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), said in a new interview that illegal immigrants who are not accused or charged with other crimes should expect to be detained and deported.
“In sanctuary cities, expect a lot of collateral arrests,” Homan told the Washington Examiner in an article published on Dec. 18. “I mean, not priority criminal arrests. We can’t get the bad guy in jail. That means we have to go into the communities and find them, and there may be others. We expect a lot of collateral arrests.We’re starting across the country on the same day’ that Trump is sworn in," Homan said.
Homan and other Trump officials have stated that they will prioritize targeting illegal immigrants who have committed crimes or are deemed a threat to U.S. national security. They have also pledged to deport anyone residing in the country illegally, although Trump has indicated he would consider allowing so-called Dreamers—illegal immigrants who have been in the United States since childhood—to remain under certain conditions. 4. Bring the Pro-Lifers in Prison Home for Christmas – The Gateway Pundit
Joe Biden ensured his son Hunter will be home for Christmas by pardoning his conviction on federal gun charges before he could even be sentenced.
And Biden also has commuted the sentences of 1,500 inmates who were sent home during the Covid lockdown. Now all of them will be able to spend Christmas or Hanukkah or Kwanzaa with their loved ones.

6. Demand at Food Banks Has Soared to Record Levels All Over the US -Prophecy Newswatch
Why is demand at food banks all over the country higher than it has ever been before? The media keeps insisting that economic conditions are just fine, but it has become quite obvious to everyone that this is not true. In particular, the rising cost of living has been absolutely crushing households from coast to coast.
In the old days, most of the people that would show up at food banks were unemployed. But now food banks are serving large numbers of people that actually do have jobs but that don't make enough to pay for all of the basics. The ranks of the "working poor" are growing very rapidly, and this is creating an unprecedented crisis all over America.
Perhaps you think that I am exaggerating. Let me share a specific example that will prove that I am not:

FBI Insurrection

A recent report by the US Inspector General indicates that there were 26 Confidential Human Sources (CHS) blending in with protestors at the Capitol on January 6, 2020. The report says 17 of them illegally entered the Capitol and/or restricted areas. None of them were authorized to break the law. None of them have been prosecuted. Christopher Wray, the disgraced FBI Director who resigned prior to the report, told Congress there were no FBI undercover agents or CHS at the Capitol on Jan 6 in previous testimony. The report exposes FBI involvement in Jan 6 and is just another piece of a puzzle where the FBI may have been instrumental in fomenting perhaps the greatest insurrection in American history.
While the FBI, the Biden White House, Congressional Democrats, and the mainstream media still maintain no FBI undercover agents were involved on Jan 6, it is a very thin line of deception. The report says, “We found no evidence in the materials we reviewed or the testimony we received showing or suggesting that the FBI had undercover employees in the various protest crowds, or at the Capitol, on January 6.” That’s what you will hear in the mainstream media. Truth is, as the report confirms, there were 26 independent FBI consultants called CHS that were undercover and directly supervised by FBI “handling agents.” There were undercover FBI assets at Jan 6 blending with the crowd and participating. I'm a Survivor: New Montana Tucker Dance Video a Cry for Help for the 100 Israeli Hostages

On Monday, December 15, American dancer, singer, actress, and social media influencer Montana Tucker released a powerful video dedicated to the 100 Israeli hostages who remain in Hamas captivity in Gaza more than 14 months after the October 7th massacre.
In the video, initiated and produced by the Combat Antisemitism Movement (CAM), Tucker and 35 members of the Sol Dance Academy appear as hostages in a tunnel, performing a dance delivering a resonating message of survival and resilience.
Featured in the video are three released hostages — Moran Stella Yanai, Raz Ben Ami, and Hila Rotem Shoshani — and family members of Ohad Ben Ami, Shlomo Manzur, and Yossi and Eli Sharabi, hostages still held in Gaza.
“It is simply unfathomable to me that more than 400 days after October 7th, 100 Israeli men, women, and children who were taken that day are still not home,” Tucker said. “We cannot let the world forget them and their suffering, and this is why I’m dedicated to using my influence to tell their stories and make sure their freedom remains an international priority.”

Abba, we continue to pray, weep and groan for the precious people still held by Hamas in the tunnels in Gaza or wherever they may have been hidden. We pray for all evil groups involved that have the power to end this inhumane and demonic captivity and torture of innocents to hear Your command that all hostages be released now. Bring the captors to their knees and cause them to tremble in fear of the Living God! SCOTUS to Consider Whether States Can Defund Planned Parenthood

The U.S. Supreme Court is slated to determine whether or not states can refuse to fund Planned Parenthood. On Wednesday, the court released a miscellaneous order accepting a petition for a writ of certiorari in the case Kerr v. Planned Parenthood. The court will be asked to determine whether “the Medicaid Act’s any-qualified provider provision unambiguously confers a private right upon a Medicaid beneficiary to choose a specific provider.”
In 2018, South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster (R) barred Medicaid funding from going to abortion giant Planned Parenthood, with McMaster explaining that even though Medicaid funding cannot legally go directly toward an abortion, funding Planned Parenthood still “results in the subsidy of abortion and the denial of the right to life.” Planned Parenthood and a patient sued the state, arguing that Medicaid funding could still be given to Planned Parenthood provided that it was not for the purposes of committing an abortion. A U.S. district court subsequently blocked South Carolina from enforcing McMaster’s order in 2020.
The U.S. Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld the district court’s decision earlier this year. Reagan-appointed Judge Harvie Wilkinson wrote in his opinion, “Preserving access to Planned Parenthood and other providers means preserving an affordable choice and quality care for an untold number of mothers and infants in South Carolina.” He further argued that “if Planned Parenthood clinics in South Carolina were to be shuttered, other Medicaid-funded clinics in the state would be more hard-pressed to meet the demand in family planning care.” Read more here

- Dear Heavenly Father, we rejoice with You that SCOTUS has chosen to hear the South Carolina case concerning tax payer dollars being used to fund abortion providers such as Planned Parenthood. We watch and pray as You lead us to victory in conservative states as a starting point. We ask that You provide wisdom, finances and the attorneys You wish to represent Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) before the Supreme Court, as well as attorneys for other parties that may be filing amicus briefs alongside the ADF.
Father, we may not know or understand all of the legal intricacies involved in this case, but we do know that You do. We know You are a God who desires truth, righteousness, and protection of the right to life for the innocents who cannot speak for themselves. As taxpayers who love You, we ask that You take the United States from glory to glory and victory to victory for the unborn--in this case, that those who choose Life may not be forced to financially support those entities that are purveyors of death.

For four long years, the nation was deceived. Meetings were canceled, national security decisions were delayed and public appearances were carefully orchestrated to avoid gaffes. On Biden’s “bad days,” aides scrambled to fill his shoes, assuming roles that rightfully belong to the commander-in-chief. Today in History: December 19, 1777
George Washington leads troops into winter quarters at Valley Forge

|
On December 19, 1777, commander of the Continental Army George Washington, the future first president of the United States, leads his beleaguered troops into winter quarters at Valley Forge, Pennsylvania.
Things could hardly have looked bleaker for Washington and the Continental Army as 1777 came to a close. The British had successfully occupied Philadelphia, leading some members of Congress to question Washington’s leadership abilities. No one knew better than Washington that the army was on the brink of collapse—in fact, he had defied Congress’ demand that he launch a mid-winter attack against the British at Philadelphia and instead fell back to Valley Forge to rest and refit his troops.
Though he had hoped to provide his weary men with more nutritious food and badly needed winter clothing, Congress had been unable to provide money for fresh supplies. That Christmas Eve, the troops dined on a meal of rice and vinegar, and were forced to bind their bleeding frost-bitten feet with rags. “We have experienced little less than a famine in camp,” Washington wrote to Patrick Henry the following February.
Desperate to keep the army intact, Washington tried to stem desertion by resorting to lashings as punishment and then threatening to shoot deserters on sight. For those soldiers who remained with him, Washington expressed deep gratitude and awe. He described men marching without clothes, blankets or shoes—leaving bloody trails in the snow—who displayed “patience and obedience which in my opinion can scarce be paralel’d.” Read More
