There was a 6.4 earthquake early yesterday morning in northern California, right along the coast with the epicenter in Ferndale.
The power is out for the 64,000 citizens who live in Humboldt County, and damage is significant. The shake was so powerful that it even moved some houses off of their foundations! And we now know that at least two people were killed in this event.
Please pray for the residents of this county -- that they be kept safe in this
crisis; and for the governing authorities so that they will be able to mobilize
all available resources to help these good folks get back on their feet.
Thank you!

Supreme Court responds to GOP request to halt end of Title 42 migrant policy
|
|
The Supreme Court on Monday temporarily blocked the Biden administration from ending the pandemic-era Title 42 immigration policy in a move that gives critics and supporters of the effort more time to make their arguments.
The decision was the result of the short fuse lit by 19 conservative states that filed an emergency appeal Monday. The states asked the justices to block a lower court ruling requiring President Joe Biden to end the Title 42 expulsions by midnight Wednesday. Instead, both sides will now have additional time to file written arguments with the court.
Though the move pauses what Biden’s critics say would be a potential crisis on the southern border, it doesn’t necessarily signal which way the high court is leaning on the broader questions about the policy . (DML News) Read more here.

- Holy King, a people naturally expects truth from their government, but we know that this administration, too often, speaks untrue things, such as declaring that the border is secure. We forgive them for their inability to know the difference between truth and lies and ask You, Jesus, to reveal it to them. We are thankful this Title 42 policy has been temporarily blocked, but we ask that this entire open border, illegal immigration situation is stopped and we pray for this administration to repent of their wicked ways and be held responsible for the wicked crimes stemming from their actions, in Jesus name.

1. Knesset freezes votes until Monday, giving Netanyahu more time to swear in coalition - Times of Israel
Knesset Speaker Yariv Levin announced Tuesday that the Knesset would be halting all legislative activity in the plenum until next Monday, which will effectively buy expected incoming prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu more time to swear in his coalition.
Netanyahu has until Wednesday night to notify President Isaac Herzog that he has put together a government. He is not poised, though, to be able by then to finalize three legislative changes demanded by his far-right and ultra-Orthodox political partners as conditions for swearing in the government.
While he will still need to inform the president that he has formed the government by Wednesday night, the Knesset freeze — apparently agreed upon by both the incoming opposition and coalition — will mean Netanyahu does not need to swear it in for almost two more weeks, until January 2. This would extend his legislative runway to finalize the demanded laws before swearing in his government.

4. Outrageous: Government website offers 'Palestine' as option for 'country of birth' - Israel National News
Israeli citizens utilizing a government internet search engine at "mybenefits.gov.il," a site that informs citizens of the benefits they are entitled to, were astounded to discover that among the options for "Which country were you born in?" appears "Palestine," complete with a tiny logo of the "country's" flag.
Israeli citizens and people who merely reside in Israel can utilize the government portal to find out if they are entitled to government assistance of any form (including benefits, reductions, exemptions and so forth). This is a service provided by the government itself, not an external organization.
Alon Shvartzer, head of the policy department at Im Tirtzu, lambasted the government for the inclusion of "Palestine" as an option for "country of birth" on an official government website. (Read more)

5. Second Temple Spectacular ‘Salome Burial Cave’ Uncovered in Lachish Forest - Jewish Press
A 2000-year-old Second Temple-era burial cave designated “Salome Cave,” one of the most impressive of its kind discovered in Israel is being uncovered at Lachish Forest, some 50 miles southeast of Tel Aviv. The burial cave continued to be in use during the Byzantine and Early Islamic periods and became known as the Salome Cave due to a popular tradition that identified it as the burial place of Salome, the midwife of Jesus.
The excavation is carried out as part of the Judean Kings’ Trail Project led by the Israel Antiquities Authority, the Ministry for Jerusalem and Heritage, and the Jewish National Fund. The excavation of the courtyard uncovered a row of shop stalls that sold or rented clay lamps.
“In the shop, we found hundreds of complete and broken lamps dating from the 8th–9th centuries CE,” said Nir Shimshon-Paran and Zvi Firer, excavation directors in the IAA Southern Region. “The lamps may have served to light up the cave, or as part of the religious ceremonies, similar to candles distributed today at the gravesites of righteous figures, and in churches.” (Read more)

1. Fmr DNI Ratcliffe ‘Ideal’ to Lead ‘Church-Style’ Investigation to Reform FBI - Brietbart
Monday on FBN’s “Mornings with Maria,” House Republican caucus leader Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) said a Republican-controlled House of Representatives was contemplating a “Church-style investigation” to look into potential past intel agency abuses.
The Church committee was a 1975 U.S. Senate select committee named for former Sen. Frank Church (D-ID) to investigate alleged abuses by the Central Intelligence Agency, National Security Agency, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Internal Revenue Service.
Host Maria Bartiromo suggested former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe, who McCarthy said was “ideal” for the role. (Read more)

- Thank You Father, that there is a push to investigate the FBI with a plan to reform this agency. We pray that the investigator is the person of Your choice, driven by integrity and a heart to bring honor to this nation and not continue covering up the evil deeds done by this agency, in Jesus name. Senator Church and his committee in the 70's had great vision, so we bless those involved now and ask for Godly wisdom and understanding in this matter. Amen.

2. Judge orders trial this week in Kari Lake's challenge to Gov.-elect Katie Hobbs' victory - 12 News
Kari Lake will get her day in court this week to challenge her election defeat.
Late Monday, Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Peter Thompson ordered a two-day trial Wednesday and Thursday on two of the ten claims Lake made in contesting Democrat Katie Hobbs' 17,000-vote victory.
Both claims allege intentional misconduct by elections workers that cost Lake the governor’s race. Lake’s eight other claims were dismissed. Thompson's ruling came after a 75-minute hearing Monday morning on a motion to dismiss Lake's election contest, filed by Maricopa County, the Secretary of State's Office and Gov.-elect Hobbs. - Praise You Father, that this court hearing is one of the first occasions for the election integrity issue to be brought forward. We ask You to release throne-room level justice upon every aspect of these cases and we commit the judge, the attorneys and every word spoken to You, O King. We pray that everything is retained within the law and that the results of these two matters come forth straight from Your courtroom and pierce the darkness with light and righteousness, in Jesus name.

3. Twitter Employed Gang of Spies Leading Up to 2020 Election - Brietbart
Twitter employed multiple former spies from the intelligence community leading up to the 2020 election, according to the seventh tranche of “Twitter Files” released Monday by journalist Michael Shellenberger.
Among the ex-spies who worked for Twitter was James Baker, the FBI’s former general counsel, who was a key participant in pushing the 2016 Russia hoax against former President Donald Trump. Baker left the FBI in 2018 and joined the far-left Brookings Institution and CNN after his departure. In 2020, he joined Twitter as the “Deputy General Counsel and Vice President, Legal,” according to Baker’s LinkedIn. During his tenure, he played a key role in suppressing the New York Post’s first story on Hunter Biden’s “Laptop from Hell.”
“As of 2020, there were so many former FBI employees — ‘Bu alumni’ — working at Twitter that they had created their own private Slack channel and a crib sheet to onboard new FBI arrivals,” Shellenberger revealed. (Read more)

- We pray for this cabal of corruption to be destroyed. Thank You Abba, for revealing this deep-level of unrighteousness and we pray now that there is enough evidence and testimony to prosecute every one of these bad actors and bring them to justice. We know there are even still "spies" working within Twitter and other tech agencies. We pray, Righteous One, that you will cause these unholy alliances to become ashes trampled under Your feet, in Jesus name.

4. Biden political appointees to HIV council have 'woke' pasts tied to drag queen story hour, Planned Parenthood - Fox News
A handful of Biden administration political appointees previously worked for prominent progressive advocacy groups including Planned Parenthood and touted work on "woke" issues such as "health equity" and "queer liberation," according to documents shared exclusively with Fox News Digital.
Resumes of current Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) officials were obtained by America First Legal through the Freedom of Information Act. The individuals all were nominated and served time on the Biden administration's Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS (PACHA). They were sworn into their positions by transgender Assistant Secretary for Health Dr. Rachel Levine in August 2021.

The video, which appears genuine and was apparently taken on November 3 during Biden’s visit to California, shows him being asked by a woman to announce that the 2015 deal, known formally as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), is no longer in effect. (Read more)

The Beast Within
The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, December 20, 2022
Since when does the FBI have the authority to censor free speech? It is the same time it has the authority to influence elections. According to the Constitution, it doesn’t. Yet government has become so large and so unaccountable, the FBI and other unelected administrative actors (can you say IRS, DHS, EPA, CDC, CMS, just to name a few?) can act like dictators in their own little kingdoms and get away with it. When the FBI comes to a company and implies that the information for which that company is responsible, is misinformation, disinformation or malinformation and it has to be suppressed, that company will cave rather than face the consequences of investigations or fines. That’s jack-boot power.
When there is a company like Twitter or Facebook that is already accepting of leftist political agendas and wants to censor MDM (yes, they now have an acronym for misinformation, disinformation or malinformation; it’s a thing), and the FBI implies it needs censoring, that information is going to get censored. If the CDC says to a hospital that it must use a health protocol or not get paid, that hospital is going to use the protocol even if it is killing people. These unelected agencies have too much power and they are all too eager to use it. Just like the January 6 Committee preferring charges against Donald Trump. Cannot people see this is so politically motivated to prevent Trump from running again? What happened to free elections? Read More

Why the gods of old now dwell among us
By David Lane
American Renewal Project
|
|
|
Joshua Michael Zeitz [born 1974] has authored several books on American political and social history along with holding faculty positions at Harvard, Cambridge, and Princeton. Last week Politico Magazine featured his article titled, ‘Why You Should Be Worried About the Split in the Methodist Church - Protestants are splitting up over LGBTQ issues’. He writes:
“Last weekend, over 400 Methodist churches in Texas voted to leave their parent denomination, the United Methodist Church [UMC]. Their decision followed the mass exodus of Methodist congregations in other Southern states, including North Carolina, Alabama, Louisiana, Georgia, Arkansas and Florida.
“At first blush this might seem like an issue that’s peripheral to American politics - a purely religious matter. But it’s actually an indicator of just how fractured our politics have become. And if history is any indication, it’s about to get even worse.”1
Zeitz is Jewish and ran in 2008 for Congress in New Jersey’s 4th Congressional District as a Democrat. His assessment that “it’s about to get even worse” is likely more prescient than he might want to admit. First and foremost, we’d have to realize that the war in American politics is not between Democrats and Republicans. It explicitly concerns two distinct religions vying for control of resources and ideological supremacy in the culture and public square.
In Luke 11:24-26, Jesus tells the story of an impure spirit seeking rest after coming out of a person. Unable to find rest anywhere, it decides to return to the house [i.e. the person] it left. When finding the house swept clean and put in order, “it goes and takes seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there.” The moral of the story is that “the final condition of that person is worse than the first.” [NIV]
|
|
. . . Rather than between Republican and Democrat, the conflict is between two distinct religions vying for control of the public square. Since they cannot coexist, one will ultimately collapse and go down as a consequence of the rise and elevation of the other.
Yet, thankfully, 3 of the 13 freshmen elected to the NC State House on November 8 are pastors. Three Iowa pastors were elected to the IA Legislature on Election Day as well. If we are to make it through, every church in America should have a pastor, elder, deacon, or congregant running for local office in 2023, 2024, 2025, 2026, and thereafter.. . .
Thankfully Gideons and Rahabs are entering the public square. America’s spiritual resurrection is just around the corner.

But there was no “insurrection”
By Frank Gaffney
Center for Security Policy
|
|
|
This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute.
The kangaroo court known as the House January 6 Committee has finally brought its serial miscarriages of justice to an end, predictably, by referring criminal charges alleging former President Donald Trump “incited” an insurrection that day.
But, there was no “insurrection.”
The Committee’s highly selective investigation notwithstanding, Mr. Trump bore no responsibility for two factors that principally enabled what were “mostly peaceful” incursions inside the Capitol that day. First, the building had a reduced level of security, not a heightened one – including several open doors. And second there were clearly provocateurs in the crowd, some of whom appear to have had ties to the FBI.
There may have been a conspiracy to influence the 2020 election certification proceedings. An honest investigation, however, would find evidence pointing to culpability among the congressional leadership, not those targeted by this rigged one’s trumped-up charges.
This is Frank Gaffney.

At least 2 dead as 6.4-magnitude earthquake
rocks Northern California
|
|
The victims died "as a result of medical emergencies occurring during and/or just following the earthquake," Humboldt County Office of Emergency Services said in a statement.
A 6.4-magnitude earthquake rocked Northern California early Tuesday, killing at least two people and leaving thousands in the dark as officials warned that another major jolt could still be on its way.
The quake hit at a depth of 10 miles just after 2:30 a.m. PT near Eureka in Humboldt County, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
It struck around 7.4 miles west-southwest of Ferndale, the agency said.
At least 11 people were injured and two people "have died as a result of medical emergencies occurring during and/or just following the earthquake," according to a statement from the Humboldt County Office of Emergency Services.
As many as 80 aftershocks followed, with the most powerful being a 4.6-magnitude jolt that rocked the city of Rio Dell, according to Mark Ghilarducci, director of California's Office of Emergency Services. Read More

Prominent Secular Universities Join the Fight Over Free Speech on Campuses
|
|
As tolerance for free speech on America's college campuses continues to dwindle throughout the culture worldwide, a small group of colleges and universities in the U.S. has formed a coalition that is resisting the trend and fighting back. And the coalition it is growing with some recent elite university additions. CBN News reported that the University of Oklahoma and the University of Texas have joined nearly 100 schools that have adopted the University of Chicago's free speech policy.
Eight years ago, the University of Chicago sent a letter to incoming students promising "they would not be protected against certain ideas, voices or beliefs, but rather the school would foster everyone's ability to engage in effective debate and deliberation." Since 2014, the letter has become known as the Chicago Statement. "The Chicago Statement also states unequivocally that students cannot 'obstruct or otherwise interfere with the freedom of others to express views,'" University of Chicago alumni and legal scholar Jonathan Turley told CBN News.
The University of Chicago ranked this year as the top university by the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression (FIRE) for allowing students, faculty and staff to express their viewpoints.
Turley said the Chicago Statement "has become the battle line for not just free speech, but for the future of higher education. While many choose to ignore the rising orthodoxy on our campuses and lack of intellectual diversity on our faculties, this trend will ultimately destroy the essential element of free inquiry and expression needed for higher education."
OU and UT, CBN reported, have recently adopted policies committing to free speech even if most students find that speech "offensive" or "immoral." In essence, these new policies protect both sides of the equation—both liberals and conservatives, including Christians. UT officials say they want to establish a set of principles that "pulls free expression out to the front and makes it a preeminent goal and focus of the institution, as it should be."(Charisma News) Read more here.

- Lord, we PRAISE you for positive news from the University of Chicago, and other secular universities, in the fight for freedom-of-speech on campuses. May the support of conservative views continue to grow in public universities across our nation. Protect our First Amendment rights across college campuses and bring many to the knowledge of You! In Jesus mighty name we pray-Amen
- "Because he loves me" says the LORD, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name." (Psalm 91:14)

My Jesus I Love Thee

Scripture: We love Him because He first loved us. 1 John 4:19
Lyrics:
My Jesus, I love Thee, I know Thou art mine;
For Thee all the follies of sin I resign.
My gracious Redeemer, my Savior art Thou;
If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus, ’tis now.
I love Thee because Thou has first loved me,
And purchased my pardon on Calvary’s tree.
I love Thee for wearing the thorns on Thy brow;
If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus, ’tis now.
I’ll love Thee in life, I will love Thee in death,
And praise Thee as long as Thou lendest me breath;
And say when the death dew lies cold on my brow,
If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus, ’tis now.
In mansions of glory and endless delight,
I’ll ever adore Thee in heaven so bright;
I’ll sing with the glittering crown on my brow;
If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus, ’tis now.
