DHS Redacted Critical Details About ‘Anti-Disinformation’ Activities: Sens. Grassley, Hawley
|
|
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has neglected to provide in full certain disclosures requested by members of the U.S. Senate relating to the department’s growing role in “counter-disinformation” activities, and this failure is particularly egregious in light of the co-equal roles of the executive and legislative branches of the government, two senators have charged in a Dec. 15 letter to DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.
Sen. Charles Grassley (R-Iowa), ranking member of the Judiciary Committee, and Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) charge the DHS with ignoring or downplaying their “serious concerns” about the DHS’s “growing counter-disinformation efforts” as conveyed previously in a letter of June 7, which formally requested “information necessary to inform our congressional oversight of DHS activities.”
The senators are deeply concerned about the DHS’s admitted plans to ramp up its efforts to play a role in monitoring and mediating MDM, a common acronym for “mis-, dis-, and mal-information,” disseminated through social media, on topics as varied as the origins of the COVID-19 pandemic, race relations in America, and the hasty U.S. pullout from Afghanistan in August 2021. - Lord, we pray that You will stop these plans for “monitoring” Americans for information that does not align with the Democrats’ version of truth. You alone are truth, so we pray for a mighty move of Your Spirit to change hearts and minds.

1. Hamas, Islamic Jihad call to step up ‘resistance’ attacks against Israel - Jerusalem Post
Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) leaders have called for stepping up attacks against Israel, especially in the West Bank.
The call was made during a meeting in Beirut between Saleh al-Arouri, deputy chairman of the Hamas Politburo, and PIJ Secretary-General Ziyad al-Nakhaleh.
The meeting took place on Saturday night and was attended by several representatives of the two Iranian-backed Islamist groups. (Read more)

2. New Knesset passes its first law, meant to thwart potential internal Likud rebellion - Times of Israel
A week into its legislative blitz, Benjamin Netanyahu’s presumed incoming coalition passed the 25th Knesset’s first law, which will make it harder for rebel lawmakers to peel off from their factions.
Approved 63-51 in its third and final reading on Monday, the change removes a provision — legislated by the outgoing government — that enabled four members of any party to split off together and form a separate faction, without legal sanctions that would prevent such MKs from running with existing parties in the following election. Now, after Monday’s change, only a group representing at least a third of the faction, constituting a group of at least 2 lawmakers, can leave a party.
The 32-member Likud faction pushed the bill in order to shut down the threat of disgruntled lawmakers leaving the party, or using their potential to do so as leverage against expected incoming prime minister Netanyahu. (Read more)

3. US equates Israeli and Palestinian extremism, calls for condemnation - Jerusalem Post
The Biden administration called on Israel to crack down equally on Jewish and Palestinian extremism, in a sharply worded statement Deputy Ambassador Robert Wood delivered to the UN Security Council after a visit to the region that drew equivalency between the actions of both populations.
“The United States expects to see equal treatment of extremists – whether Israeli or Palestinian,” Wood told the UNSC, which on Monday held its monthly meeting on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
In a statement that could only have been directed at Israel, Wood clarified that this meant “arrests, convictions and punishments, as well as equal allocation” by Israel “of resources to prevent and investigate violent attacks.” (Read more)

4. Netanyahu slams Holocaust-burying New York Times for demonizing Israel - JNS
(December 19, 2022 / JNS) Israeli Prime Minister-designate Benjamin Netanyahu condemned The New York Times on Sunday for an editorial characterizing his incoming government as “a significant threat to the future of Israel.”
In the Dec. 17 editorial titled, “The Ideal of Democracy in a Jewish State Is in Jeopardy,” the Times argues that Netanyahu is risking “the future of Israel—its direction, its security and even the idea of a Jewish homeland,” and calls for the U.S. administration to do more to show its disapproval.
Netanyahu tweeted in response, “After burying the Holocaust for years on its back pages and demonizing Israel for decades on its front pages, the New York Times now shamefully calls for undermining Israel’s elected incoming government.
“While the NYT continues to delegitimize the one true democracy in the Middle East and America’s best ally in the region, I will continue to ignore its ill-founded advice and instead focus on building a stronger and more prosperous country, strengthening ties with America, expanding peace with our neighbors, and securing the future of the one and only Jewish state,” Netanyahu added. 5. Children out for a stroll in north discover 2,000-year-old lamp in the ground - Times of Israel
A group of children recently found a 2,000-year-old oil lamp at Kibbutz Parod in the northern Galilee region of the country, shedding light on the ancient Jewish community that lived in the area, the Israel Antiquities Authority said in a statement Monday.
The 4th-grade students — Alon Cohen, Liam Atias and Rotem Levnat — from the kibbutz’s Nof Hagalil School, made the discovery as they were out for a walk about 10 days ago.
The trio said they noticed something poking out of the ground, and at first they thought it was just an unusual stone. (Read more)

1. Biden Admin Quietly Raises The Price It’s Willing To Pay To Refill Oil Reserves | The Daily Caller
The Energy Department announced Friday that it would begin buying oil to refill the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) at prices below $96 per barrel, even though the White House previously stated that the department would begin buying back oil at a price of $67 to $72 per barrel.
The Energy Department declared that it would start to repurchase crude oil at a lower price than the $96 per barrel average price that barrels were previously sold for to secure a “good deal” for the taxpayer, according to an official press release. However, the White House said in October that the department would buy oil back once the average price of oil reached $67 to $72 a barrel, touting the plan as a “win for taxpayers.”
- Lord, we pray that You will expose all subterfuge by this administration with regard to our energy industry.
- “Nothing is covered up that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known.” (Luke 12:2)

2.New York Appeals Court Rules Yeshiva University Must Recognize LGBTQ Student Group | The Daily Caller
A New York Appeals Court ruled on Thursday that Yeshiva University must recognize the LGBTQ student group, YU Pride Alliance.
The Supreme Court ruled in September that it did not have jurisdiction to issue a decision regarding the case without it first going through the state courts. The appeals court’s most recent decision upheld an earlier ruling in June that required the Jewish university to immediately recognize the YU Pride Alliance.
The appeals court opinion argued that Yeshiva could not prevent the YU Pride Alliance from becoming an official student organization because it did not meet the criteria of a “religious corporation.”
- Lord, we pray for Yeshiva University to be freed from the ‘woke’ agenda. Let them know You and let freedom come to their campus. We also pray for those caught in the LGBTQ lifestyle, that they would come to repentance.
- “For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.” (Galatians 5:1)

3. House Democrats Move To Bar Trump From Office | The Daily Wire
Dozens of House Democrats lined up behind legislation that would bar former President Donald Trump from holding office again.
The bill, introduced Thursday by Rep. David Cicilline (D-RI), aims to use Section 3 of the Fourteenth Amendment to get the job done, accusing Trump of orchestrating an insurrection with the Capitol riot on January 6, 2021, which briefly disrupted the certification of President Joe Biden’s 2020 election victory.
- Lord, we pray that this legislation will fail and fail completely. Let it be cast down with the power of Your Holy Spirit! We ask that You touch President Trump’s heart and heal it from all the attacks he has faced.
- “For I will restore health to you, and your wounds I will heal, declares the Lord, because they have called you an outcast: ‘It is Zion, for whom no one cares!’” (Jeremiah 30:17)

4. McCarthy Warns Jan. 6 Committee Of GOP Plans After Party Takes Control (conservativebrief.com)
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, who is in line to become Speaker in January, has put the Jan. 6 Committee on notice. Earlier this week, the California Republican sent the committee a letter informing members to preserve documents and all work the panel has done during its investigation so the new GOP majority can examine it.
“I remind you and your staff on the Committee to preserve all records collected and transcripts of testimony taken during your investigation,” McCarthy wrote to the committee’s chairman, Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.), on Wednesday. He also said the panel must be held to the strictest of scrutiny, considering the implications of any findings.
“You have spent a year and a half and millions of taxpayers’ dollars conducting this investigation. It is imperative that all information collected be preserved not just for institutional prerogatives but for transparency to the American people,” he wrote. “The official Congressional Records do not belong to you or any member, but to the American people, and they are owed all the information you gathered — not merely the information that comports with your political agenda,” McCarthy added.
- Lord, we pray that Your justice will vindicate those who have been unjustly impacted by the Jan 6 committee. Let there be true accountability for every member of that committee.
- “When justice is done, it is a joy to the righteous but terror to evildoers.” (Proverbs 21:15)

5. North Carolina Supreme Court Blocks Voter ID Law Over ‘Discriminatory Intent’ (theepochtimes.com)
North Carolina’s top court has upheld the permanent block against a voter identification law, finding that lawmakers enacted it with “discriminatory intent.”
More African American voters lack the identification required under the law, Senate Bill 824, and a previous voter identification law was determined to be unconstitutional for that reason. That was part of a reason a panel of North Carolina judges used to conclude in September 2021 that Senate Bill 824 ran afoul of the equal protection clause in North Carolina’s Constitution. The clause states: “no person shall be denied the equal protection of the laws; nor shall any person be subjected to discrimination by the State because of race, color, religion, or national origin.”
In a narrow 4–3 ruling on Dec. 16, the North Carolina Supreme Court upheld that earlier conclusion.
- Lord, we pray for fair and free elections that reflect the truth. Voter ID is standard in many states and has no impact on turning out for the vote. We ask the truth be revealed in this case.
- “For the Lord loves justice; he will not forsake his saints. They are preserved forever, but the children of the wicked shall be cut off.” (Psalm 37:28)

Finally Wising Up
The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, December 19, 2022
A recent Kaiser Family Foundation poll may indicate that Americans are finally wising up about the government propaganda over the COVID 19 shot. Against the backdrop of the obvious ongoing government claims that the shot is safe and effective, The KFF December Monitor found that about four in ten (44%) say they do not think they need the updated booster and about a third (37%) say they do not think the benefit is worth it. About a third (36%) say they have been too busy or have not had the time to get it, while about one in four (23%) say they have not gotten the updated booster because they had bad side effects from a previous COVID-19 vaccine dose.
There is also a political divide. Republicans are more likely to refuse the shot than Democrats. KFF noted: “at least six in ten vaccinated Republicans or Republican leaning independents who have not yet gotten the updated booster say they haven’t done so because they don’t think they need it (64%) or do not think the benefit is worth it (61%)… Democrats are three times as likely as Republicans to report having already gotten the updated COVID-19 booster (38% vs. 12%). Notably, about three in ten Republicans say they will only get the updated booster if they are required to do so (12%) or say they will “definitely not” get the new COVID-19 booster dose (18%). A further 37% of Republicans are unvaccinated or only partially vaccinated and therefore not eligible for the new updated COVID-19 booster dose.” Read More

This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute.
The evidence that Joe Biden is, as retired U.S. spy “Sam” Faddis contends, a “controlled asset” of Chinese intelligence continues to accumulate.
In addition to the multiple indictable offenses documented on Hunter Biden’s hard drive – some of which were laid bare in a Committee on the Present Danger: China webinar last week – two recent decisions strongly suggest that his dad is doing the Chinese Communist Party’s bidding.
First, the PCAOB, a little-known federal auditing agency, has cleared the way for American investors to continue underwriting the CCP threat. That’s suicidal.
And second, Mr. Faddis reports that Team Biden is allowing U.S. companies to do business with more Chinese ones on the grounds that the latter won’t transfer American technology to their government – something they are actually required to do.
Congress must stop such aiding and abetting of our enemy.

Pre-Christmas storm threatens major travel delays across US
|
|
Confidence continued to grow among AccuWeather's expert team of meteorologists on Monday that a significant storm would evolve later this week, threatening to bring a wide swath of snow, rain and fierce winds from the Plains to the Atlantic Seaboard.
The intensifying storm will coincide with a surge of frigid air that will send temperatures to bone-chilling levels through the holiday weekend and could be one of the most intense and prolonged periods of Arctic air in decades during Christmastime. The plummeting temperatures with the storm could also lead to concerns of a rapid freeze-up.
The storm’s timing could not be worse given the increased number of travelers leading up to Christmas as well as the pressure retailers and shipping companies face to keep shelves stocked and items on track for delivery.
Snow during at least part of the storm is likely to extend from parts of the southern Plains to the Midwest, Northeast and perhaps even the interior Southeast states during the period from Thursday, Dec. 22 to Saturday, Dec. 24. The first stage of the storm can cause snow to break out as early as Wednesday across the interior West, with Denver expected to pick up several inches of accumulation Wednesday night. Read More

- Father God, we come before Your Throne of Grace as kings and priests of the Most High God, and we join You in taking authority over this massive storm system. Lord God, we believe that this storm is not in Your will, not only because it is so dangerous to all who are in its path, but also because, if it takes effect, it will disrupt the plans of millions of families who plan to gather to honor You on one of the holiest days of our faith: Christmas Day.
Lord God, we come before you on bended knee, in repentance, crying out for mercy in this time of need. We ask that You rescue us from this peril, in Your Mighty Name, amen and amen.
- "The God whom we honor will rescue us." (Daniel 10:7)
- "Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help,
Whose hope is in the Lord his God,
Who made heaven and earth,
The sea, and all that is in them . . ."

Pro-Life Group Champions Legislation That Protects Life Without Exception
|
|
American Life League and its leaders are holding up The Virginia Rights Beginning at Conception Bill (HB 1395) as a model for legislation that protects human life without exception. In the more than 40 years that the American Life League has worked toward rebuilding a culture of life, the organization has been distinguished by its "no exceptions" stance against abortion.
American Life League President and Co-founder, Judie Brown, has often noted that heartbeat bills and viability bans don't end violence against preborn children, but rather mask the fact that abortion takes a human life.
Brown applauds Virginia Delegate Marie March, who introduced the bill, for her understanding of the need to end abortion. March wrote, "Since getting elected, I have felt called to fight for the lives of all the little souls that haven't been given a chance...We have our own cross to bear and it is the reality of all the aborted children in America...I hope that when my days on Earth are done and God calls me home that I will have lived my life if only to save even one unborn life."
"March's words speak to the urgency of pro-life principles coming to the foreground and receiving the emphasis they deserve in view of the many compromises currently going on in political circles," Brown explained. "We must never forget that every single preborn human being is equally important, is created equally, and deserves total protection." (Charisma News) Read More Here.

- Lord we pray the this bill is passed into law! Bring honor to the unborn and bless those in positions of authority who are diligently fighting to save innocent babies. May this bill become the catalyst for change throughout our entire nation-In Jesus powerful name, Amen!!

It Came Upon The Midnight Clear
To listen to this classic hymn, CLICK HERE
Words: Edmund Sears
Music: Richard Willis
Scripture: There were…shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. Luke 2:8–9
Lyrics:
It came upon the midnight clear,
That glorious song of old,
From angels bending near the earth,
To touch their harps of gold;
Peace on the earth, good will to men,
From Heaven’s all gracious king.
The world in solemn stillness lay,
To hear the angels sing.
Still through the cloven skies they come
With peaceful wings unfurled,
And still their heavenly music floats
O’er all the weary world;
Above its sad and lowly plains,
They bend on hovering wing,
And ever over its Babel sounds
The blessèd angels sing.
Yet with the woes of sin and strife
The world has suffered long;
Beneath the angel strain have rolled
Two thousand years of wrong;
And man, at war with man, hears not
The love-song which they bring;
O hush the noise, ye men of strife
And hear the angels sing.
And ye, beneath life’s crushing load,
Whose forms are bending low,
Who toil along the climbing way
With painful steps and slow,
Look now! for glad and golden hours
Come swiftly on the wing.
O rest beside the weary road,
And hear the angels sing!
For lo! the days are hastening on,
By prophet-bards foretold,
When with the ever circling years
Comes round the age of gold;
When peace shall over all the earth
Its ancient splendors fling,
And the whole world send back the song
Which now the angels sing.
