"For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of His government and peace
There will be no end,
Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom,
To order it and establish it with judgment and justice
From that time forward, even forever.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this."

Legal Attacks On Biden’s Vaccine Mandate Reach Supreme Court

Legal attacks on President Joe Biden’s employer vaccine mandate reached the Supreme Court Friday night after a federal appeals court cleared the way for its enforcement earlier in the day.

The justices were flooded with emergency appeals from red states and conservative legal groups within hours of the lower court’s decision. The mandate requires 80 million workers to get vaccinated or wear masks and pay for weekly tests.

The White House is warning employers to prepare for compliance with the mandate despite its uncertain legal prospects, sagging popularity, and relaxed enforcement guidance from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. The pressure campaign is augmented by blue state authorities who are enforcing mask and vaccine mandates of their own in response to the latest COVID variant.

"Especially as the U.S. faces the highly transmissible Omicron variant, it’s critical we move forward with vaccination requirements and protections for workers with the urgency needed in this moment," White House spokesman Kevin Munoz said of the Sixth Circuit’s decision.

- Lord God Almighty in Heaven, this is one of the most important cases these judges will weigh before You this year. The livelihoods of up to 8 mlliion of our citizens will depend upon this ruling. Hence, we decree this decree over each justice, from 2 Chronicles 19. IT IS WRITTEN:
- "Then he (Jehoshaphat) set judges in the land throughout all the fortified cities of Judah, city by city, and said to the judges, “Take heed to what you are doing, for you do not judge for man but for the Lord, who is with you in the judgment. Now therefore, let the fear of the Lord be upon you; take care and do it, for there is no iniquity with the Lord our God, no partiality, nor taking of bribes.” (2 Chronicles 19:5-7)
- Father, we pray, too, that this mandate be blocked by the Supreme Court. Give favor to those companies who do NOT want to enforce the mandate on their employees. We pray for mercy, grace, and favor.

- "And God gave Daniel favor and compassion in the sight of the chief of the eunuchs." (Daniel 1:9)
FOCUS ON ISRAEL

1. IDF issues new rules of engagement for West Bank - report - Jerusalem Post

The IDF has released new rules of engagement when dealing with those throwing stones and Molotov cocktails in the West Bank, relaxing the rules to allow for soldiers to fire even after the assailants throw their weapons, KAN reported Sunday.
The new rules require this to still be done in the immediate aftermath, but can also be done even as the assailant is escaping, according to KAN.

The new rules also allow for the IDF to fire at people stealing live ammunition and weaponry. This is especially relevant, as 70% of all criminal shootings in Israel are carried out with stolen military weapons, according to Walla. (Read more)

2. Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad agree to facilitate attacks on Israel - YNET News

Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) stuck an agreement on Sunday to step up terrorist attacks against Israel, especially in the West Bank and Jerusalem.

The Iranian-backed groups have also agreed to increase coordination between their military wings, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades and the Al-Quds Brigades.

The deal was reached during meetings between Hamas and PIJ top brass officials in Lebanon and the Gaza Strip in recent days.

The deal is seen by Palestinian political analysts as a new challenge for the Palestinian Authority (PA), whose security forces continue to carry out a massive crackdown on Hamas and PIJ members in the West Bank. (Read more)

3. IDF, Police plan to deal with violence in mixed cities - Israel National News

The IDF and the Israel Police will, for the first time, establish reserve Border Police units in order to deal with violence in mixed cities in Israel, Israel Hayom reported.

The purpose of the new units is to keep the peace in cities with mixed Arab-Jewish populations during future wars.

The decision to establish the units was made as part of the lessons learned from Operation Guardian of the Walls when several cities across Israel were rocked by Arab riots. The police were overwhelmed and ill-equipped to deal with the widespread violence, and Border Police units were moved from Judea and Samaria to the affected cities a few days after the riots began. However, this was a one-time solution and not a permanent solution. (Read more)

4. UN General Assembly Condemned Israel 14 Times in 2021, Only 5 Times for the Rest of World Combined - Jewish Press

The UN General Assembly condemned Israel on Friday in two separate resolutions, concluding the world body’s 2021 legislation with a total of 14 resolutions that single out the Jewish state, and five for the rest of the world combined.

There was one resolution each adopted Thursday for the regimes of North Korea, Iran, and Myanmar, one on Crimea, while a draft resolution on Syria was deferred.

“The UN’s assault on Israel with a torrent of one-sided resolutions is surreal,” said Hillel Neuer, executive director of UN Watch, a Geneva-based non-governmental watchdog organization. (Read more)

5. Zoom cuts ties with Israeli cyber company over spyware allegations - Israel National News
Following reports of breaches of the accounts of U.S. government employees via software developed by the NSO Group, as well as the company’s blacklisting by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Channel 12 reported on Sunday evening that the Zoom video-conference platform has decided to cease its business dealings with the Israeli-owned cyber company.

Zoom, an immensely popular platform ever since the coronavirus epidemic began, has now closed all its business accounts with NSO Group.

A number of journalistic investigations have led to accusations that the “Pegasus” software NGO Group developed has been used to hack into the telephones of human rights activists and journalists. The company was blacklisted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in early November and has since been linked with a number of unflattering reports – including lawsuits filed against it by technology giants such as Apple and Meta (formerly known as Facebook). 1. Federal appeals court allows Biden vaccine mandate for large companies to resume - Fox News

A federal appeals court Friday reinstated the Biden administration's vaccine mandate for large companies, dissolving a stay by a separate court that had suspended the mandate.

A coalition of 27 business groups quickly appealed to the nation's highest court Friday to block the lower court's mandate, according to Politico. They claimed the mandate would bring "harm" to thousands of businesses.

The Biden vaccine mandate forces companies with 100 employees or more to require that their workers be vaccinated against COVID-19 or submit to weekly testing. The requirement takes effect Jan. 4. (Read more)

- Father, we continue to pray against this mandate on businesses. Let us keep our freedom to choose! We pray that effective treatments be released to the people and not held back, in Jesus name.

- Of David. "Fret not yourself because of evildoers; be not envious of wrongdoers! For they will soon fade like the grass and wither like the green herb. Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness. Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him." (Psalm 37:1)

3. Biden Vaccine Mandate Set to Decimate Our Military - Fox News

Dec. 15, 2021, is the deadline for every active-duty member of the Army to comply with President Biden’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate. This follows earlier deadlines for the Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps.

It is also the day that may set into motion one of the most grievous injuries ever perpetrated upon our military by its commander in chief.

Why? Because President Biden is threatening to discharge every member of the military who expresses a religious exemption or nothing more than a cautionary reluctance to immediately obey his sweeping vaccine mandate. This would be as unnecessary as it is unjustified.

According to recent data from the Department of Defense, well more than 90% of every military branch has received a vaccination – with Navy and Air Force personnel surpassing a vaccination rate of 95%. That is a vaccination rate far greater than not only the nation at large (72%), but also any state in the nation. (Vermont has the nation’s highest vaccination rate at 75%.)

As of today, as many as 50,000 soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines are on the brink of being dismissed from service for disagreeing with the Biden mandate or seeking a religious exemption. Some have informed me that instead of being thrown out, they will quit the duty they love, give up the mission they have trained for, and separate from their brothers in arms whose lives they swore to protect – and who swore to protect theirs. (Read more)

- Father, we pray Joe Biden will reverse this decision to avoid reducing and weakening our military!

- "Forsaking the right way, they have gone astray. They have followed the way of Balaam, the son of Beor, who loved gain from wrongdoing," (2 Peter 2:15)

4. Power of one: Manchin is singularly halting Biden’s agenda - AP

Sen. Joe Manchin settled in at President Joe Biden’s family home in Delaware on a Sunday morning in the fall as the Democrats worked furiously to gain his support on their far-reaching domestic package.

The two-hour-long session was the kind of special treatment being showered on the West Virginia senator — the president at one point even showing Manchin around his Wilmington home.

But months later, despite Democrats slashing Biden’s big bill in half and meeting the senator’s other demands, Manchin is no closer to voting yes. In an extraordinary display of political power in the evenly split 50-50 Senate, a single senator is about to seriously set back an entire presidential agenda.

With Biden's domestic agenda stalled out in Congress, senators are coming to terms with the reality that passage of the president’s signature “Build Back Better Act,” as well as Democrats’ high-priority voting rights package, would most likely have to be delayed to next year. (Read more)

- Father, we pray protection for Joe Manchin and his family as he continues to hold back his support on Biden's "Build Back Better Act". Grant strength to Manchin to stand against the pressure he is facing.

- "But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one." (2 Thessalonians 3:3)

 4. WHO says Omicron found in 89 countries, cases doubling every few days - TImes of Israel

The omicron variant of the coronavirus has been detected in 89 countries, and COVID-19 cases involving the variant are doubling every 1.5 to 3 days in places with community transmission and not just infections acquired abroad, the World Health Organization said Saturday.

Omicron’s “substantial growth advantage” over the Delta variant means it is likely to soon overtake Delta as the dominant form of the virus in countries where the new variant is spreading locally, the UN health agency said.

The WHO said earlier this week that Omicron was more transmissible than the Delta strain and reduces vaccine efficacy but causes less severe symptoms, according to early data. (Read more)

- Father, we curse this virus, and declare it dies NOW in Jesus name. We break its power over us!

“I will deliver this people from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death. Where, O death, are your plagues? Where, O grave, is your destruction?" (Hosea 13:14)

5. Fewer than half of American adults pray daily; religiously unaffiliated grows: study - Christian Post

Less than half of American adults pray daily as church membership continues to decline and the ranks of the religiously unaffiliated swells, according to a study published by the Pew Research Center.

Data from the National Public Opinion Reference Survey conducted by Pew Research Center from May 29 to Aug. 25 among a nationally representative group of respondents found that 45% of U.S. adults say they pray daily compared to 58% who reported doing so in 2007 and 55% who said they prayed daily in 2014.

Some 32% said they seldom or never pray, which is close to the 29% of U.S. adults who identify as religious “nones” — people who describe themselves as atheists, agnostics or “nothing in particular,” the study says. The nation’s share of religious “nones” is now 6% higher than it was five years ago and 10% higher than it was a decade ago, showing what appears to be a galloping trend of secularization.

Even though Christians are still the largest religious group in the U.S., they now only make up a collective 63% of the adult population. When the Pew Research Center began measuring religious identity in 2007, Christians outnumbered “nones” 78% to 16%. (Read more)

- Father, we are saddened to hear this report! We pray for revival across our land! Turn our hearts toward You in this chaotic world we live in.

- "Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you?" (Psalm 85:6)

For The First Time in History, a Spacecraft Has 'Touched' The Sun

In an incredible historic first, a human-made spacecraft has swooped in and made contact with the Sun.

On 28 April 2021, NASA's Parker Solar Probe actually flew into and through the solar corona, the upper atmosphere of the Sun. Not only did it live to tell the tale – proving the efficacy of Parker's high-tech heat shielding – it took in situ measurements, giving us a wealth of never-before-seen data on the heart of our Solar System.

"Parker Solar Probe 'touching the Sun' is a monumental moment for solar science and a truly remarkable feat," said astrophysicist Thomas Zurbuchen, associate administrator for the Science Mission Directorate at NASA Headquarters.

"Not only does this milestone provide us with deeper insights into our Sun's evolution and its impacts on our Solar System, but everything we learn about our own star also teaches us more about stars in the rest of the Universe."

Parker Solar Probe launched in 2018, with its primary objective to probe the solar corona. In its planned seven-year mission, it should be making a total of 26 close approaches, or perihelions, to the Sun, using a total of seven gravity assist maneuvers from Venus to bring it ever closer. The April perihelion was the eighth, and the first to actually enter the corona. Read More

Leaving It All Behind for Jesus

Beachwood, OH, where Kirt grew up, has the largest concentration of Jews anywhere in the world, after Israel and New York City – about 90%.

As is typical for Jewish boys, he was bar mitzvahed at age 13, and describes the cultural richness of his Jewish family and community as fun and colorful, full of love, freedom, and belonging. Spiritually, however, he describes his childhood differently.

“Little I learned growing up as a Jew pointed me toward a personal relationship with God or gave life eternal meaning. Though my family attended synagogue on holy days like Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur and celebrated Passover in our home, religion had very little to do with our day-to-day life.”

Kirt says much of his identity as a teen was wrapped up in his high school wrestling success. When high school ended, so did his sense of purpose. Not knowing where else to look for meaning, a new fear of the future settled on him. A couple of years later, in 1978, Kirt remembers going to bed with a bad headache. Several hours later, he was awakened into what he calls a supernatural state, which he remembers clearly to this day.

Twenty-year-old Kirt saw a vision of Jesus on the cross, like he’d been transported back in time. “As I looked on Him, I knew that God was telling me that He knew me and that Jesus was the way to know Him,” he explains. “I heard no divine voice or audible words. I don’t think the entire experience lasted more than a second or two, but it marked me. In that moment, I realized I didn’t have to be afraid anymore. In Jesus, I knew I would overcome and find my purpose and destiny.”

Kirt was excited and thankful for what had been revealed to him that night and told everyone, including his parents and siblings. They dismissed it as a dream he’d soon forget.  Kirt not only didn’t forget, but continued talking about Jesus, and started reading the New Testament and exploring Christian churches.  “I don’t identify at all with the concept that I’ve lost my Jewishness because I follow Yeshua.  Instead God has clarified my Jewish identity. Yeshua is the Messiah, and as a Jewish believer who follows Him, I’ve experienced some of the same rejection He did.  I had no idea what I was in for.” (CBN) Read more.

FEATURE ARTICLE – O HOLY NIGHT – AN ATHEIST, A JEW AND AN ABOLITIONIST
An atheist, a Jew and an abolitionist. How did these three get involved in the famous Christmas carol ‘O Holy Night’? In 1847, a French priest approached poet and wine merchant Placide Cappeau to pen a poem for the Christmas mass. Placide was an atheist but he obliged. Drawing inspiration from the Book of Luke, he imagined what it would be like on the night of Jesus’ birth. ‘Cantique de Noel’ was the result. Just as a side note, Placide was a one-armed man. As a child, his friend accidentally shot his arm, which then had to be amputated. He grew in the arts including winning a prize for his drawing. The priest liked the poem so much that he wanted to make it into a carol. Placide then took the poem to his Jewish friend and famous composer Adolphe Adam.

The carol was played on Christmas Eve and became an instant hit in the French churches. But when the church discovered the origins of the song, they deemed it unfit for use. But French families continued to sing it in their homes.

Scripture: There were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them. Luke 2:8–9

Lyrics:
Silent night, holy night,
All is calm, all is bright
Round yon virgin mother and Child.
Holy Infant, so tender and mild,
Sleep in heavenly peace,
Sleep in heavenly peace.

Silent night, holy night,
Shepherds quake at the sight;
Glories stream from heaven afar,
Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia!
Christ the Savior is born,
Christ the Savior is born!

Silent night, holy night,
Son of God, love’s pure light;
Radiant beams from Thy holy face
With the dawn of redeeming grace,
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth,
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth.

Silent night, holy night
Wondrous star, lend thy light;
With the angels let us sing,
Alleluia to our King;
Christ the Savior is born,
Christ the Savior is born!
