Netanyahu: ‘I will not replace Hamastan with Fatahstan’

Israel rebuffs U.S. call to hand over the Gaza Strip to the Palestinian Authority
|
|
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu emphasized his determined opposition to the Palestinian Authority taking over the Gaza Strip in a post-Hamas world, speaking during a nationally televised press conference at IDF headquarters in Tel Aviv on Saturday night.
The idea, favored by the Biden administration, which sees a P.A.-ruled Gaza Strip as a necessary first step towards a two-state solution, has become a point of contention between Israel and the U.S. even as the war to cleanse the coastal enclave of its Hamas terrorist overlords continues, a war that according to Israeli estimates is expected to take many months to finish.
Netanyahu said that while he “greatly” appreciates U.S. support for Israel, the two countries will have to agree to disagree on such a role for the P.A.
“There will not be any element that educates for terrorism, finances terrorism and dispatches terrorism” in the Gaza Strip, Netanyahu said.
“I also made this determination clear to U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan with whom I met on Thursday,” the prime minister said. “This is not ‘politics,’ but policy. This is my policy.”
“I will not allow us to replace Hamastan with Fatahstan, that we replace Khan Yunis with Jenin,” he continued. “I will not allow the State of Israel to repeat the fateful mistake of Oslo, which brought to the heart of our country and to Gaza, the most extreme elements in the Arab world, which are committed to the destruction of the State of Israel and who educate their children to this end.” (JNS.org) Read more here.

- Lord, thank You for leaders who do what is right, even when opposed. Continue to give them courage and wisdom in this difficult battlefield. Let their example inspire each of us to stand up for what is right. We continue to lift Israel up to you, Lord, that you would deliver them from all their enemies. In Jesus name amen.

Gallant warns Hezbollah amid frequent attacks from Lebanon, IDF retaliatory strikes
|
|
Terror group claims at least 10 attacks Sunday on northern towns; FM Cohen urges visiting French counterpart to help enforce UN resolution by keeping Hezbollah away from border
|
|
Defense Minister Yoav Gallant again threatened to sharply escalate military action against Hezbollah Sunday, as the Iran-backed Lebanese terror group continued to carry out frequent attacks on northern Israel and the IDF carried out new waves of strikes on Hezbollah sites in southern Lebanon in response.
Rockets and missiles were fired from Lebanon at a number of northern towns throughout the day in the Mount Dov and Rosh Hanikra areas, as well Kibbutz Sasa and the northern towns of Margaliot and Arab al-Aramshe. Hezbollah claimed responsibility for at least 10 such attacks on Sunday alone.
Some rockets failed to cross the border, landing on the Lebanese side, while others fell in the border area.
There were no reports of injuries in the Hezbollah attacks, though an auditorium was reported damaged in Kibbutz Sasa.
In response, an Israeli fighter jet and attack helicopter hit a number of buildings used by Hezbollah, and a drone struck a group of operatives. Meanwhile, another aircraft and tank hit weaponry and a Hezbollah observation post, the IDF said. Later, aircraft and tanks struck a Hezbollah anti-tank missile squad preparing to carry out an attack near an army post on the border. (Times of Israel) Read more here.

- Lord God, we continue to come against the spirit of chaos, confusion, destruction, and of war, that it will not prevail in the Middle East and all over the world in Jesus Christ's name. As the corporate body of Christ, we come against every evil agenda and plot and scheme and plan of the enemy to, kill, steal and destroy! We declare the earth is yours and the fullness thereof! In Your Name, amen!

Houthis launch more attacks in Red Sea as US warships head to region
|
|
American and British warships shot down over a dozen drones launched from Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen on Saturday, the latest onslaught against naval vessels and commercial shipping in the Red Sea by the Iranian-led group.
The Carney, a U.S. destroyer, intercepted 14 “one-way attack drones” according to the U.S. Central Command while the British destroyer HMS Diamond, newly arrived in the region to bolster protection of commercial shipping, also shot down a Houthi drone. (POLITICO) Read more here.

- Lord God, we plead the blood of Jesus over our US military, our warships and all of our soldiers located all over the world and in the Middle East that they are protected and that you supernaturally help them. Give them wisdom and strength on how to keep peace yet still protect our land and the innocent with strength. And we just continue to push back all evil agendas for war and destruction that they will not prevail in Jesus Christ's name. We also cover all of these prayers in the blood of Jesus and our families and friends, this holiday season, and we come against all witchcraft and evil, decreeing that this has been completely eliminated and obliterated by the blood of Jesus. In Your Name, Holy One, Amen!
- “Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life. You stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes; with your right hand you save me.” (Psalms 138:7)

1.‘Most humanitarian issue’ is 129 hostages held in Gaza, Gallant tells US defense secretary - JNS
U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin met in Israel on Monday with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant. The retired U.S. Army general and member of the National Security Council was expected on his trip to pressure Jerusalem to scale back the war against Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
“We’re fighting a war of civilization against barbarism,” Netanyahu told Austin prior to their meeting at the Kirya military headquarters in Tel Aviv. The prime minister referred to Israel’s “commitment to achieve total victory against Hamas” and said that it is not only Israel’s war, “but in many ways your war, because you are leading the forces of civilization in the world.”
“This is a battle against the Iranian axis of terror, which is now threatening to close the maritime strait of Bab el-Mandeb. This threatens the freedom of navigation of the entire world,” Netanyahu added. “I appreciate the fact that you’re taking action to open that strait. It’s not only our interest. It is the interest I think of the entire civilized community.” (Read more)

2. See inside the biggest Hamas tunnel Israel's military says it has found in Gaza - CBS
Throughout the war in Gaza, Israel's military has spoken frequently of the challenges presented by the vast tunnel network the Hamas militant group built underneath the Palestinian territory. Israel says Hamas, long designated a terror group by the U.S., Israel and many other nations, has used the tunnels to transport supplies and carry out attacks — including its unprecedented Oct. 7 assault, which sparked the current war.
On Friday, CBS News was escorted by Israel Defense Forces troops through the gap blasted by Hamas militants on Oct. 7 in the wall protecting the Erez border crossing into Gaza. All along the road was destruction wrought by the Hamas militants as they went to carry out their murderous rampage. (Read more)

4. Hamas Releases New Video of Three Elderly Israeli Hostages - Algmeiner
Hamas released a short video on Monday showing three elderly Israeli hostages whom the Islamist terror group seized during its Oct. 7 rampage. Israel denounced it as a “criminal, terrorist video.”
The three men — identified by Israel as 79-year-old Chaim Peri, 80-year-old Yoram Metzger, and 84-year-old Amiram Cooper — were taken hostage over 10 weeks ago with about 240 others by Hamas terrorists who carried out a killing spree in Israeli communities.
The three men, all with beards, are seen sitting next to each other in the video, which Hamas posted to Telegram.
Sitting in the middle, Peri speaks to the camera, saying he and other elderly hostages who have health issues are “suffering greatly in very harsh conditions.” (Read more)

1. Democratic Arizona Governor Orders National Guard To Border, Slams Biden Admin For Allowing ‘Unmitigated Humanitarian Crisis’- Daily Wire
Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs, a Democrat, ripped the Biden administration’s handling of the ongoing illegal immigration crisis and ordered her state’s National Guard to deploy troops to the southern border Friday.
In a statement Friday explaining her executive order, Hobbs said the Biden administration has “refused” to aid Arizona after the state’s “continued requests for assistance” to secure the border. Hobbs signed the order after the federal government closed a port of entry in Arizona earlier this month to send Customs and Border Protection agents to other parts of the southern border, AZ Central reported.
The governor’s order said the Biden administration’s decision to close the port of entry has led to an “unmitigated humanitarian crisis,” putting “Arizona’s safety and commerce at risk.”
“Yet again, the federal government is refusing to do its job to secure our border and keep our communities safe,” Hobbs said in a statement. “With this Executive Order, I am taking action where the federal government won’t. But we can’t stand alone, Arizona needs resources and manpower to reopen the Lukeville crossing, manage the flow of migrants, and maintain a secure, orderly and humane border. Despite continued requests for assistance, the Biden administration has refused to deliver desperately needed resources to Arizona’s border.” (Read more)
- Lord, even Democrats are now recognizing the dangers and disasters of so many migrants entering the US illegally. We ask for truth and unity on this issue, and a solution that helps the citizens of America.
- “I appeal to you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment.” (1 Corinthians 1:10)

2. Compromise Defense Authorization Bill Passes Senate, House - The Washington Stand
For the 63rd year in a row, the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) sailed through Congress this week. Most of the good provisions House Republicans had inserted into the annual bill to fund the military were stripped out during negotiations with the Democrat-controlled Senate, and Family Research Council Action scored against the final passage of the bill.
Because many members consider legislation to fund the military a “must-pass” bill, progressives in Congress routinely stuff the NDAA with woke riders every time they have a chance. When given the chance, Republicans often fail to undo the damage out of fear that doing so would jeopardize the bill’s passage — an unlikely outcome, but that’s the narrative the media is sure to promote. This dynamic acts on the military as a one-way ratchet, making it woker and woker as time goes on.
But this year was different. Back in July, Republicans marshalled their narrow House majority to reverse some of the worst left-wing abuses of our nation’s military. Even worse than the NDAA’s quiet slide, the Biden administration has gone ahead and implemented its own anti-life, anti-family policies for the military without any congressional authorization at all. This year, Republicans said “no” to paying for abortion travel, taxpayer funding of gender transition procedures, obscene books in the libraries of DOD-run schools, flying Pride flags on military property, and staffing an increasingly bloated and wasteful DEI bureaucracy. (Read more)
- Lord, as Biden may sign this, we pray that no vestige of these woke policies will remain in the final implementation of Defense funding. We pray for full focus on war-fighting and the Name of the Lord Our God to go with them. Help all military members understand Your Might.
- “The Lord is a man of war; the Lord is his name.” (Exodus 15:3)

3. US Warship Downs Suicide ‘Drone Wave’ Launched From Yemen In Red Sea – Daily Caller
A U.S. warship operating in the Red Sea engaged a wave of suicide drones on Saturday launched from Yemen, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said in a statement.
The 14 one-way attack drones were assessed to have originated from Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen, CENTCOM said, but did not directly confirm whether the Iran-backed militia intended to target the U.S. destroyer. Sending a “drone wave” near U.S. warships would signal an escalation, as similar incidents in recent weeks have involved the U.S.S. Carney and other warships downing one or two drones threatening the vessels at a time.
“In the early morning hours of December 16 (Sanna time) the US Arliegh Burke-class guided missile destroyer USS CARNEY (DDG 64), operating in the Red Sea, successfully engaged 14 unmanned aerial systems launched as a drone wave from Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen,” the statement read.
No damage to the ship occurred and there were no injuries immediately reported, CENTCOM said. “Regional Red Sea partners were alerted to the threat.” (Read more)
- Father, You are God and there is no other. We thank You that this ship was able to shoot down this wave of drones, but we pray for a stop to them entirely. We ask that Your Spirit visit the Houthi terrorists.

4. White House at Odds with Senate Republicans over Funding for Ukraine, Border Security - Washington Stand
Senate Republicans are pushing the Biden administration to put America first and secure the southern border before giving Ukraine further financial aid. On Tuesday, the White House signaled potential support for Republican border security legislation in exchange for a more than $110 billion emergency aid package, mostly benefiting Ukraine. This comes as illegal immigration into the U.S. rivals record highs.
Speaking to Family Research Council President Tony Perkins on Wednesday night’s episode of “Washington Watch,” Senator Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) said, “I think most Americans are sympathetic with the plight of the Ukrainian people, they’re opposed to the evil war criminal Putin.” He added, “What takes precedent, though, is securing that border.”
Johnson explained that funding for Ukraine — a White House priority — has to be tied to border security legislation, expressing concerns that the Biden administration may not uphold its end of an agreement on the subject. “We have a lawless administration, we have a president that is not faithfully executing the laws,” he said. “If you want a couple examples — when the Supreme Court ruled that the eviction moratorium was unconstitutional, President Biden extended it anyway. When they ruled that forgiving student loans was unconstitutional, he’s still forgiving them,” he continued. “So we can’t rely on this president to actually follow the law, execute it, or quite honestly, follow through on any agreement he signs.” (Read more)
- Lord, we pray that You would bring about an answer that will protect Americans and save our own funding to help this nation. Without solid borders, we are at serious risk. With a divided government, getting anything truthful through is difficult, but with You all things are possible.
- “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26)

5. Washington Post column asks whether Boston Tea Party was 'terrorism' committed by ‘Blackfaced’ White Men - Fox News
A new column in the Washington Post offered a deconstruction of one of the most iconic moments in America’s founding era, wondering if the Boston Tea Party was really an act of "terrorism" done by "White men" wearing an early form of Blackface.
Post contributing columnist Theodore Johnson speculated as to whether Americans’ heroic mythologizing of the rebellious act in Boston Harbor in response to the British Tea Act of 1773 is the correct interpretation of the actual events that day.
Describing how it’s seen in Americans’ collective cultural view, Johnson wrote, "The story of that night became lore — and the lore evolved into national myth. The Boston Tea Party has come to symbolize the revolutionary spirit that led to independence. It engraved the catchphrase ‘no taxation without representation’ on the country’s cornerstone and signified the embrace of democracy."
However, he continued, offering another version of the events that he claimed has been "swept under history’s rug to prevent the colonists from being cast as common criminals hiding behind racist face paint."
"A horde of White men disguised themselves as Native Americans — coppering their faces and donning headdresses in the same tradition that would lead to blackfaced minstrel shows decades later — to commit seditious conspiracy and destroy private property," he wrote. (Read more)
- Lord, the delusion of the left is causing falsehoods to be told to generations of Americans. History is paramount for true understanding of every issue, but it has been replaced by deception and lies. We pray that this man also will be brought to repentance, but failing that removed from his position and platform at the Washington Post.
- “And with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false,” (2 Thessalonians 2: 10-11)

6. Law firm to cease on-campus recruiting at Harvard due to university president's congressional testimony - Fox News
A law firm will cease on-campus recruiting of Harvard Law students due to the university president’s recent congressional testimony, telling Fox News Digital the move will be in place until there is a "sea change" on campus.
Edelson PC law firm founder Jay Edelson penned a letter to Harvard Law’s director of recruitment and operations saying that the firm will not be participating in the university's upcoming Spring Interview Program. The Spring Interview Program, which begins Jan. 29, facilitates opportunities for employers to interview prospective students on campus.
The firm added that it will also skip a larger on-campus interviewing event in August, according to Reuters. Edelson told Reuters in an interview that the event is where major law firms often hire many of their summer associates.
Edelson sent a statement to Fox News Digital about the decision, saying the move came because of how Harvard and its president Claudine Gay handled the aftermath of her disastrous testimony before Congress on antisemitism at the school. (Read more)
- Lord, these antisemitic school officials must be removed. Their falsehoods have tainted entire generations of students, leading them down a pathway to ruin. We pray for Your answer, Your movement of repentance to change the hearts and minds of those who are at our universities.
- “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh." (Ezekiel 36: 26)

7. Seizing Private Land Is Next Step in Fight Against Climate Change – The Epoch Times
The dream of net-zero carbon emissions—and its vision of blanketing hundreds of millions of acres of American land with wind turbines and solar panels—is running up against the reality that most of the land in America is still privately owned and many Americans don't want these massive industrial installations near their homes.
But that may prove to be a temporary impediment.
“There is a major effort under the Biden administration to consolidate power over land and resources, because whoever owns the land and resources of a nation, controls the people,” Margaret Byfield, executive director of American Stewards of Liberty, a property rights nonprofit, told The Epoch Times.
As a former Nevada rancher, she became embroiled in a decade-long fight with federal agencies over control of her land, which she ultimately lost.
Today, she sees another land grab coming in the form of the Green New Deal and the renewable energy industry.
Analysts speculate that in order to meet net-zero goals and build out a renewable energy infrastructure, enormous swaths of land will have to be converted for industrial use. (Read more)
- Lord, this information is greatly concerning, especially for the farmer and ranchers who grow our food. We apply the cross of Christ against such moves, and erect a hedge of Your protection around all who own property in the United States. Please protect them from the encroachment of the government.

8. As Biden Remains Passive Amid Houthi Attacks, Two Major Shipping Lines Pause Their Routes Through Red Sea – Daily Wire
As the Biden administration has avoided confronting Islamic Houthis in Yemen aligned with Iran who are impeding navigation in the Middle East, two of the world’s largest container shipping lines —both of which have had ships attacked by the Islamist group —announced on Friday they have paused transits through the Red Sea.
Maersk, whose ship Gibraltar was attacked on Thursday, stated they would instruct ships passing through the Bab al-Mandab Strait, which connects the Indian Ocean to the Red Sea, to pause their journeys “until further notice.”
Germany’s Hapag-Lloyd AG announced they would pause their ships’ journeys until Monday, “then will decide for the period after.”
Maersk is the second largest container shipping company by volume, according to the Financial Times, while Hapag-Lloyd is the fifth largest, according to Marine Insight.
“The moves will pile pressure on the US and its allies to improve security along one of the world’s most important trade corridors to avoid undermining the global economic recovery,” Bloomberg News opined. (Read more)
- Lord, these shipping lanes are vital and must be protected. The disruption will cost more money that will be passed on to already cash-strapped citizens in many countries. Lord, we ask that You send Your Angelic Host to prevent any more disruptions. Let every plan of the enemy be thwarted and returned to their own heads.
- “The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them.” (Psalm 34:7)

Discerning The Days
The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, December 18, 2023
There is a lot of angst in this world. God’s creation warring against itself. If you read the Biblical prophets, they indicate that things will not get better prior to the return of Christ. There are difficult times ahead, raising many questions. How do we handle it? Do we go with what the world says? Or do we go with what God says? How do we know that God is talking to us? Difficult situations can cause us to react emotionally or respond spiritually with wisdom and discernment. Shutting out the noise of the world and listening to that still small voice. Discerning what you hear—God will not go against his word. Checking his word is a good path to take. Remember that God works all things to the good for those who love him.
Recall Joseph, son of Jacob, sold into slavery and ending up in Egyptian prison because of false accusations. After two years, the Pharaoh had a perplexing dream and Joseph was called up to interpret. Joseph rightly interprets the dream to be God’s warning of a coming famine in seven years. There would be seven years of plenty and seven years of famine. The repetition of the second dream meant that the matter was fixed, and God would shortly bring it about. Joseph then advises Pharaoh on what to do, and Pharaoh puts Joseph in charge of everything— his household, and all of his people. He said in Genesis 41:38, “Can we find anyone like him? The Spirit of God lives in him!” Read More

This week is not over. They have not left for the year until they have left.
Please keep the Senate in prayer as it is as active as ever on some of the top priorities of the year or even longer.

After Weeks of Warnings, Iceland Volcano Erupts in Plumes of Fire
|
|
|
Iceland’s weather service had warned that a volcanic eruption was likely after thousands of earthquakes were recorded this month.
|
|
A volcano in Iceland has erupted, spewing lava and red smoke plumes following weeks of earthquake activity and evacuations.
The volcanic eruption happened on Monday evening near the fishing town of Grindavik in the southwest, according to the country’s Meteorological Office.
‘Warning: Eruption has started north of Grindavik by Hagafell,’ stated the Met Office on its website.
A live stream of the eruption showed bright yellow and orange lava shooting up from fissures on the volcano and intense red smoke billowing up in the black night.
The lava fountains reached as high as 330 feet and could be seen from the capital of Reykjavik.
Police on November 10 ordered nearly 4,000 residents in Grindavik to evacuate after detecting magma underneath the town.
The famous Blue Lagoon was closed and warnings were issued to tourists.
A coast guard helicopter is set to determine the size and exact coordinates of the eruption, said the Met Office.
There were no immediate disruptions at Keflavík International Airport.
Iceland has more than 30 active volcanic systems and is a hotspot for such activity because it sits over tectonic plates flowing in opposite directions.
Major concerns include that the lava could reach Grindavik or the Svartsengi geothermal power plant which provides electricity and heat for roughly 30,000 residents, said University of Iceland geophysics professor Magnús Tumi Guðmundsson.

- Father God, we ask that You post Your holy angels to stand between this massive
eruption and the power plant located nearby. We ask for the safety of all the residents of Iceland, and that each one would bow their knee in repentance to You, acknowledging that You, dear Lord, are their Savior and their Lord. Amen and amen.

2,000 years later, search for Second Temple menorah continues
|
|
Was it looted by the Romans and taken to Rome to be depicted on the Arch of Titus? If so, is it still kept in the cellars of the Vatican?
The possibility that the menorah used in the Second Temple in Jerusalem is hidden deep in the cellars of the Vatican has excited researchers, rabbis and adventurers for generations.
Let’s jump to the latest development in this 2,000-year-old story. Recently, the Chief Rabbi of Safed Shmuel Eliyahu reported that his son, Israeli Heritage Minister Amichai Eliyahu, had been approached by an Italian parliamentarian. According to the rabbi, the parliamentarian, whose name was not mentioned, suggested jumpstarting the process of the return of the Temple vessels, including the menorah, looted by the Romans from Jerusalem after the destruction of the Second Temple, which, he claimed, were indeed in the Vatican.
This surely would have made headlines, had not many attempts been made in the past to locate the vessels and substantiate the claims about their whereabouts.
For instance, in 2002, in a meeting between then-Israeli Ambassador to the Vatican Oded Ben-Hur and Pope John Paul II, the two agreed to document all Jewish art objects kept in the Vatican. Hebrew University researchers, who were in charge of the project, found no evidence of the menorah’s presence. Read More

Words: John F. Wade
Music: Traditional
Scripture: The shepherds said to one another, Let us go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about. So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the Baby, who was lying in the manger. Luke 2:15–16
Lyrics:
O come, all ye faithful,
Joyful and triumphant,
O come ye, O come ye,
To Bethlehem.
Come and behold Him,
Born the King of angels;
Refrain
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
Christ the Lord.
True God of true God
Light from Light Eternal,
Lo, He shuns not
The Virgin’s womb;
Son of the Father,
Begotten, not created;
Refrain
Sing, choirs of angels,
Sing in exultation;
O sing, all ye citizens
Of heaven above!
Glory to God, all
Glory in the highest;
Refrain
See how the shepherds,
Summoned to His cradle,
Leaving their flocks,
Draw nigh to gaze;
We too will thither
Bend our joyful footsteps;
Refrain
Lo! star led chieftains,
Magi, Christ adoring,
Offer Him incense,
Gold, and myrrh;
We to the Christ Child
Bring our hearts’ oblations
Refrain
Child, for us sinners
Poor and in the manger,
We would embrace Thee,
With love and awe;
Who would not love Thee,
Loving us so dearly?
Refrain
Yea, Lord, we greet Thee,
Born this happy morning;
Jesus, to Thee be all glory given;
Word of the Father,
Now in flesh appearing.
