Trump is named Time's Person of the Year for 2024
|
|
|
President-elect Donald Trump has been named Time magazine's Person of the Year, the magazine announced Thursday, after he became only the second president in U.S. history to lose reelection and then reclaim the White House four years later.
"Trump's political rebirth is unparalleled in American history," Time said in the announcement. The magazine spoke to Trump ahead of the announcement, in which he told them he called his comeback "72 Days of Fury."
Trump beat out a short list of finalists for the title that included Vice President Kamala Harris, Trump's billionaire ally Elon Musk, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Catherine, Princess of Wales, aka Kate Middleton. (Musk was Time's choice in 2021.)
Trump rang the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange in Manhattan to mark the occasion. It was the first time the real estate mogul-turned-politician has rung the bell, according to the Associated Press. Former first lady Melania Trump appeared alongside him in Manhattan, as did daughters Tiffany and Ivanka, and Vice President-elect JD Vance. (CBS News) Read more here.

Madison, Wisconsin, school shooting leaves 2 dead, 6 injured; juvenile suspect dead
|
|
Police identified the shooter who they said opened fire inside a private Christian school in Madison, Wisconsin, killing a teacher and teen student and injuring six others on Monday.
Madison Police Chief Shon Barnes said 15-year-old Natalie Rupnow, who goes by Samantha, opened fire inside Abundant Life Christian School.
Barnes said the shooting took place during study hall with multiple grades in the room.
Police said evidence suggests the shooter died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Barnes added officials are speaking with Rupnow's father, who he said is cooperating with police.
During a press conference on Tuesday, Barnes clarified that a second grade teacher made the 911 call reporting the shooting. On Monday, Barnes mistakenly said the call had come from a second grade student.
Barnes added that two students are still in critical condition with life-threatening injuries. A teacher and three other students were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Barnes said two of those individuals have since been released.
The teacher and student that were killed in the shooting have not yet been identified.
Barnes said Rupnow used a handgun in the shooting. He said police have not yet determined a motive for the attack.
"Every child, every person in that building is a victim and will be a victim forever. We need to figure out and try to piece together what exactly happened," Barnes said. (Fox News) Read more here.

She seemed to have tragically been a broken human-being who somehow had managed to become consumed by hatred and violence. Officials respond to drone sighting near major Air Force base in Ohio: 'Taking all appropriate measures'
|

The drone did not impact 'base residents, facilities, or assets,' officials say
|
|
Government officials have responded to the recent drone sightings near an Air Force base in Ohio on Monday, noting that the incidents appear unrelated to the unusual sightings in the Northeast.
The drones were seen near Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Greene County over the weekend. Following the sightings, the base closed its airspace for four hours on Saturday. According to its website, Wright-Patterson is "headquarters for a vast, worldwide logistics system, a world-class laboratory research function, and is the foremost acquisition and development center in the U.S. Air Force."
In a statement to Fox News, Robert Purtiman, Chief of Public Affairs of the 88th Air Base Wing, confirmed that officials were aware of the drones.
"I can confirm that small unmanned aerial systems were spotted in the vicinity of and over Wright-Patterson AFB between 13-14 December," Purtiman's statement read. "To date, installation leaders have determined that none of the incursions impacted base residents, facilities, or assets." (Fox News) Read more here.

May they be able to locate every source of the drones and ticket them or more, if they are determined to cause troubles. We pray for technology and rapid responses to drone advances and threats over our entire nation, in Jesus name and we pray for the federal government to be as transparent as these leaders in Ohio, in Jesus name.

Judge rejects Trump request to toss Bragg charges in New York on basis of presidential immunity
|
|
Judge Juan Merchan on Monday rejected Trump attorneys' request to dismiss charges brought against him by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg on the basis of presidential immunity.
The ruling comes after President-elect Trump and his team in July requested Merchan overturn his guilty verdict in New York v. Trump, citing the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling that presidents have immunity for official acts.
Merchan ruled that the evidence presented in the trial was related "entirely to unofficial conduct and thus, receive no immunity protections."
"Further, even if this Court were to deem all of the contested evidence, both preserved and unpreserved, as official conduct falling within the outer perimeter of Defendant’s Presidential authority, it would still find that the People’s use of these acts as evidence of the decidedly personal acts of falsifying business records poses no danger of intrusion on the authority and function of the Executive Branch, a conclusion amply supported by non-motive-related evidence," Merchan writes.
Merchan also argued that the Court said "if error occurred regarding the introduction of the challenged evidence, such error was harmless in light of the overwhelming evidence of guilt."
Merchan rejected that request, but has yet to rule on President-elect Trump's formal motion to dismiss the case altogether.
"Today’s decision by deeply conflicted, acting Justice Merchan in the Manhattan DA Witch Hunt is a direct violation of the Supreme Court’s decision on immunity, and other longstanding jurisprudence," Trump spokesman and incoming White House communications director Steven Cheung told Fox News Digital. "This lawless case should have never been brought, and the Constitution demands that it be immediately dismissed, as President Trump must be allowed to continue the Presidential Transition process, and execute the vital duties of the presidency, unobstructed by the remains of this, or any other, Witch Hunt." 1. Katz: Israel to maintain security control in Gaza after war - Gaza
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said on Tuesday that the Israel Defense Forces will continue to maintain security control in the Gaza Strip after the war with Hamas concludes.
“In response to various reports, my position regarding Gaza is clear. After we defeat Hamas’s military and governing power in Gaza, Israel will maintain security control in Gaza with full freedom of action, just as in Judea and Samaria,” tweeted Katz in Hebrew.
“We will not allow any terrorist group to organize against Israeli communities and citizens from Gaza. We will not allow a return to the reality that existed before Oct. 7,” he added. (Read more)

2. Israel, Hamas poised to conclude deal as PM reportedly visits Cairo - Israel Hayom
Israel and Hamas are close to signing a ceasefire deal in the coming days to end the recent hostilities in Gaza, according to sources briefed on the talks. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is reportedly on his way to Cairo for discussions aimed at finalizing the terms of the truce, according to Reuters. The negotiations have gained significant momentum, with both sides showing flexibility on key sticking points. Shortly after the report came out, Hamas said an agreement was possible if Israel stopped "setting new conditions." Meanwhile, Netanyahu's office announced that he visited Mount Hermon on Tuesday to see up close the newly seized peak, a week after Israel advanced beyond the Disengagement of Forces lines on the Golan Heights for fear of spillover from the chaos in Syria after the long-standing Assad family regime had been toppled. Netanyahu was joined by the IDF chief of staff, the head of the Shin Bet security agency, and other security officials.
One of the main obstacles in the talks had been the deployment of Israeli forces along the Philadelphi and Netzarim corridors during the ceasefire period. However, according to Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz, Hamas has demonstrated a willingness to compromise on these matters. "The Philadelphi and Netzarim routes are no longer an obstacle; Hamas has shown flexibility on these matters," Katz said during a Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee session.
Israel has also reportedly softened its stance on certain conditions as negotiators work to establish an inspection mechanism for civilians moving northward – a system that Hamas had previously rejected. 3. IDF strikes Hezbollah weapons transport in Southern Lebanon - JNS
An Israel Defense Forces aircraft carried out a strike on a Hezbollah terrorist in Southern Lebanon on Tuesday after the army detected a man loading weapons into a car, which violates Jerusalem’s ceasefire deal with Beirut.
An aircraft attacked the vehicle “to remove the threat,” the IDF said in a statement, stressing that the Iranian-backed terror group’s presence in the area “violated the understandings between Israel and Lebanon.”
“The IDF continues to be committed to the understandings regarding the ceasefire in Lebanon, is deployed in Southern Lebanon, and will act to remove any threat to the State of Israel and its citizens,” it concluded. (Read more)

4. Netanyahu visits Israeli positions in Syria - World Israel News
After news of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu traveling to an “undisclosed location” on Tuesday, it was revealed he was visiting new Israeli positions in Syria.
He visited the Hermon base and gave instructions for further operations in Syria.
Netanyahu met with Israel’s defense minister, the Israeli military chief of staff, and other officials “on the Hermon ridge,” according to a statement from his office.
The statement continued that the officials had assessed the Israeli military’s presence in the area and established guidelines for the future. (Read more)

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu led an assessment of the Israel Defense Forces deployment on the northern border with Syria on Tuesday afternoon, his office said.
Netanyahu visited the Mt. Hermon peak with Defense Minister Israel Katz, IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi, Northern Command head Maj. Gen. Ori Gordin, Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) head Ronen Bar and other security officials.
Netanyahu during the visit “reviewed the IDF deployment in the area and set guidelines for the future,” according to the PMO statement.
“We are holding this assessment in order to decide on the deployment of the IDF in this important place until another arrangement is found that ensures Israel’s security,” the prime minister stated in his remarks. (Read more)

1. Missing nuclear package sparks major search after 'very dangerous' radioactive container vanishes on its way to Spanish airport - Daily Mail
A hunt was underway last night for a missing radioactive package which 'failed' to arrive at Madrid's Barajas Airport.
Spain's Nuclear Safety Council (CSN) sounded the alarm yesterday evening over the transport package with 'four radioactive sources' of 'very dangerous' category 2 Selenium-75.
Local reports said the CSN had sent a team of inspectors to the airport to try to glean more information.
El Pais, a Spanish media outlet, reported that the CSN has since located the package and it has been deactivated.It was not immediately clear how the transport container with the radioactive package had gone missing.
The International Atomic Energy Agency defines Category 2 on a scale of one to five as 'very dangerous for people because the radioactivity carries grave risks where material is not properly protected. (Read more)

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is on the ropes after Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland resigned on Monday.
“We are calling for Justin Trudeau’s resignation,” New Democratic Party leader Jagmeet Singh said, according to CTV.
The network reported that stepping aside is among the options Trudeau is considering.

3. Trump Adviser Alex Bruesewitz Faints Mid-Speech During NYC Young Republican Gala, Still Hospitalized - OANN
Trump adviser Alex Bruesewitz fainted on stage on Sunday during a speech at the New York Young Republican Club Gala. He is currently still in the hospital.
On Sunday night, Bruesewitz, 27, fainted mid-speech after he began noticeably “slurring” his words. “I’m forgetting my words,” he said, before toppling forward over the lectern.
On Monday, Bruesewitz’s lawyer, Joseph D. McBride, posted on X, explaining that Bruesewitz was still admitted to the hospital and that he was going through a series of tests.

The Biden administration is pressuring Sierra Leone to pass an unpopular pro-abortion bill before President-elect Donald Trump takes office, a former senior U.S. government official who has worked in the West African region told The Daily Signal.
It is common knowledge among nongovernmental organizations, or NGOs, in Sierra Leone that a U.S. foreign aid agency called the Millennium Challenge Corporation is threatening to withhold hundreds of millions of dollars from a U.S. agreement with Sierra Leone unless the West African country’s parliament passes the bill decriminalizing abortion, the former government official said.

5. The Future Of Debanking - Zerohedge
Among many worrying trends is the problem of debanking. It is underreported. The victims do not like to talk about it, even among family and friends. It is rarely discussed at all in public forums. Only specialists write about it. But it is a threat to everyone in the most intensely effective way. The practice denies people access to the basics of life and yet there is no appeal, no process, no methods of challenge, and no remediation.
We did not know until Melania Trump’s latest biography that she and her son Barron were victims of debanking, the practice of shutting down a person’s bank account based on an unsigned and unexplained decision in which the account holder is merely notified that all services are hereby denied.
She did not say the name of the bank. Nor do most victims of this practice. The bank simply sends a letter and encloses the balance. The victim then has to hunt around for an alternative, now with the black mark of having been canceled by another bank, which raises real questions. The problem is compounded by the absence of any real reason for the actions.
Experts on this topic all agree: The debanked need to speak out about this now, posting letters and recording communications. It’s the only way we draw public attention to this.
There is a broader problem relating to the creation of social-credit systems around the world, most especially in China. Political compliance becomes a standard of inclusion in financial and social life generally. It’s a highly effective way that regimes can carefully and quietly control their citizens. It has no place in a free society, and it seems like our laws ought to be clear about that. (Read more)

The End Time Prophetic Rise of Turkey in Syria

The Sunni and Shiite hate each other, at least in the enclave of hierarchy leadership. Both groups hate Jews and possibly Christians more than they hate each other. Shiite Iran has been able to cobble together a loose alliance of various factions of Sunni and Shiite to attack the Jews as evidenced by Hamas, Hezbollah, The Palestinian Liberation Organization and others. Sunni Turkey has made a play in Syria to topple the government through its support of the Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham (HTS)-led revolt. Iran’s support of Asaad was severely limited because Israel had weakened Hezbollah and it wasn’t able to prop up Asaad. This situation may well have deep prophetic implications.
Many pontificators of the prophetic are watching Damascus from an Isaiah 17:1 perspective, which says, “The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.” Indeed, this is an end-time prophesy as indicated by the words “in that day” throughout many verses in the chapter, making the time frame very close to, if not when, Christ returns. As we look at the Syrian situation, however, there are a few things that may need to fall into place before the destruction of Damascus, and they appear to be on the move presently. Ezekiel 38 prophesies that Gog, of Magog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, leads a coalition of Persia (Iran), Ethiopia, and Libya against Israel in a colossal end time battle, which the LORD himself defeats. SHIELDS UP - Protection for the U.S. Presidential Inauguration

Dear Prayer Warriors,
I have been polling several leaders about what they have been sensing in the days leading up to the Inauguration of the new United States President, Donald Trump. There is a consensus that this transition time is the timeframe our enemies would take advantage of to attack us in some manner. Several potential scenarios are brewing. One is from the drones appearing over various parts of the nation. While we do not have a clear word as to the source, some have felt it was Iran, but we all concur that there is danger brewing.
We had a number of prophets who have had dreams and warnings about concerted terrorist attacks being planned. It is clear to us that this would still be in the making. Only prayer can avert this from happening in an October 7th-type attack from sleeper cells. This would be devastating to the nation. It is no secret that we have had, and do have at this time, very porous borders that have allowed radicalized elements into the land.
Of course, the obvious call to prayer is to avert President-elect Trump from being assassinated. Iran was not successful, but they are still planning to take him out. There are enemies without and within who want to create turmoil and unrest both leading up to and during the Inauguration.
For these reasons, we are issuing a Shields Up for fasting and prayer beginning now and continuing through January 21, 2025, the day after the inaugural event.
Our good friend, Lou Engle, has called for fasting from January 1st-21st for the new government leaders as they are appointed and as the new administration is being transitioned in. Also, pray for protection for all these new leaders, as some have received threats to themselves and their families. You can find a link for this call to prayer here.

Prayer Points:
Pray Psalm 91 each day over President Trump, his family, and all the team he appoints to his new administration.
On a personal level, pray over yourself and your own family to protect them as well.
Intercede for wisdom for the appointments that are being made for the future administration, that God will give wisdom to Trump and his transition team. Pray that any of the appointees that are not God’s will at this time be replaced.
Pray for the FBI and the CIA to uncover and stop any planned assignation attempts and plots of terrorist attacks across the nation.
Pray against disruptions across the nation that could lead to rioting in the cities of the US.
Especially intercede for the inauguration events themselves that there be no violence.

Drones flying over the country are 'lawful,' nothing indicates a 'public safety risk,' says top WH official

White House National Security Communications Adviser John Kirby said the White House’s assessment, in coordination with the FBI and state and local officials, is that the mysterious drones flying over the country are in fact "legal" and "lawful."
Kirby told Fox News anchor Bret Baier Monday on "Special Report" they’ve examined roughly 5,000 sightings and to date, their analysis is "lawful, legal, commercial hobbyist and even law enforcement aircraft activity," is responsible for the sightings.
"Some of it's manned, some of it's unmanned. We absolutely acknowledge that a lot of these are probably drones, but they're flying legally. And it is legal to fly drones in non-restricted airspace as long as you're registered with the [Federal Aviation Administration] FAA and there's thousands and thousands of these kinds of flights every single day," he added.
Pentagon Press Secretary Maj. Gen. Pat Ryder said in a press conference Monday there are more than 1 million drones registered with the FAA in the United States, and that more than 8,000 drones are lawfully flown every day.
An FBI official said over the weekend their Newark office created a tip line in early December to deal with the number of calls related to reported drone sightings in New Jersey.
Since Dec. 3, they have received 5,000 tips through that national tip line and of those 5,000, "less than 100 leads have been generated and deemed worthy of further investigative activity," according to the official. (Fox News) Read more.

‘It’s as if an atomic bomb fell on Mayotte’: Destruction after 100-year cyclone pummels French territory

(CNN) — Reports of widespread damage are emerging from Mayotte after a 100-year cyclone ripped across the French archipelago Saturday, inflicting devastation that one resident likened to an atomic bomb, with hundreds and possibly even thousands of feared victims.
“The situation is catastrophic, apocalyptic,” Bruno Garcia, owner of Hotel Caribou in Mamoudzou, Mayotte’s capital, told CNN-affiliate BFMTV.
“We lost everything. The entire hotel is completely destroyed,” Garcia said. “There is nothing left. It’s as if an atomic bomb fell on Mayotte.”
Mayotte lies in the Indian Ocean off the east coast of Africa, just west of Madagascar. Made up of two main islands, its land area is about twice the size of Washington DC.
Cyclone Chido, a category 4 storm, tore through the southwestern Indian Ocean over the weekend, impacting northern Madagascar before rapidly intensifying and slamming Mayotte with winds above 220 kilometers per hour (136 miles per hour), according to France’s weather service. It was the strongest storm to hit the islands in more than 90 years, Meteo-France said. Read More
