Supreme Court declines religious challenge to N.Y. vaccine mandate for health care workers

SUPREME COURT REJECTS RELIGIOUS LIBERTY CHALLENGE TO NY VAX MANDATE; KAVANAUGH AND BARRETT SIDE WITH LIBERAL JUSTICES

The Supreme Court declined Monday to block New York’s vaccination mandate for health care workers, which has an exception for medical reasons but not for religious objections.

The court denied a request for a temporary order to block the requirement while lawsuits against it proceed. The request was denied in a one-sentence order with no explanation, the normal procedure when such a request is denied.

Conservative Justices Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito and Neil Gorsuch said the court should have issued an injunction to block enforcement of the mandate.

When New York announced the requirement in August, it included exemptions for medical and religious reasons. But the state later revised it to remove exceptions on religious grounds.

Lower federal courts declined to block the mandate after a group of doctors and nurses sued.

In a 14-page dissent joined by Alito, Gorsuch said the record in the case "practically exudes suspicion of those who hold unpopular religious beliefs." He said the state failed to show that accommodating the religious objectors would make any meaningful difference in protecting public health. (NBC News) Read more here.

- Father God, we bring this ruling before You on bended knee, for it is so dangerous! The precedent now exists due to this case that religious liberty does not matter. Religious freedom -- our very foundation -- has been set aside for this scientific experiment.

We thank You that the "Supreme Court" is NOT the Supreme Court . . . but that that Court rests with You in Heaven. Lord God, we now appeal to Your Supreme Court to intervene in miraculous ways to overrule with wicked ruling. In Jesus' name, amen.

- "Greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world." (I John 4:4)
FOCUS ON ISRAEL

1. Mall entry in Israel to require COVID-19 Green Pass starting Friday - The Jerusalem Post

Beginning Friday, people will only be able to enter shopping centers if they are fully vaccinated or recovered from coronavirus within the last six months, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett decided on Tuesday.

The decision comes as the Omicron variant is threatening to spread across Israel and coronavirus cases are increasing week-on-week. (Read more)

2. Iranian ‘Drone Armies’ Step Up Attacks on US as Nuclear Talks Languish, GOP Lawmakers Say - Washington Free Beacon

Iranian "drone armies" are behind a surge in attacks on U.S. positions and allies in Iraq, according to a group of Republican lawmakers who are demanding answers from the Biden administration about how it is working to counter these threats amid ongoing negotiations with Tehran over a revamped nuclear accord.

"In 2021, Iran-backed forces in Iraq have been behind an uptick of drone attacks against positions associated with the U.S. or coalition forces in Iraq," Reps. Bryan Steil (R., Wis.), Joe Wilson (R., S.C.), Brian Babin (R., Texas), and Andrew Clyde (R., Ga.) on Tuesday wrote to the State Department in a letter that demands answers for why these strikes have gone unpunished. "These include a strike against an alleged CIA hangar in Erbil, Iraq, in April and the Baghdad airport this June." (Read more)

3. ‘Obsessed’ Biden administration put settlements on par with Iran nukes - The Jerusalem Post

The Biden administration has put the issue of settlements on the same level as the Iranian nuclear threat in its discussions with Israeli officials, multiple Israeli diplomatic sources said in recent days.

“The Americans bring up ‘settler violence’ all the time, obsessively,” a senior diplomatic source in Jerusalem lamented.

When Defense Minister Benny Gantz was in Washington last week to implore the Americans to take a tougher stance against the Iranian nuclear threat, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken insisted they devote equal time to discussing settlements as they did to Iran, which Israeli diplomatic sources found baffling.

Blinken told Gantz that the Israeli government’s settlement activity is “destroying the chance of a two-state solution.” (Read more)

4. 2015 nuclear deal no longer sufficient for reality of Iran in 2022, IAEA chief says - Times of Israel

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — The head of the United Nations nuclear watchdog warned Tuesday that the restrictions faced by his inspectors in Iran threaten to give the world only a “very blurred image” of Tehran’s program as it enriches uranium closer than ever to weapons-grade levels.

Speaking in a wide-ranging interview to The Associated Press, Rafael Mariano Grossi said he wanted to tell Iran that there was “no way around” his inspectors at the International Atomic Energy Agency if the Islamic Republic wanted to be “a respected country in the community of nations.”

“We have to work together,” Grossi said from a luxury hotel in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, after he visited that country’s first nuclear power plant. “They must work together. I will make sure they understand that in us they will have a partner.” (Read more)

5. IDF Home Front Command pushes ahead with plan to fortify northern areas against rockets - JNS

The Israel Defense Forces’ Home Front Command is working intensively to fortify the homes of communities on the northern Israeli border with Lebanon against Hezbollah’s array of rocket and mortar fire threats.

The project, dubbed “Northern Shield,” began in 2018 and received cabinet approval, as well as a partial budget, but it did not receive the required 500 million shekels ($160 million) per year for 10 years due to political instability and the failure to pass a state budget.

This changed when the project received 250 million shekels ($80 million) as part of the new 2022 state budget under the new government.

A joint agency set up by the IDF, the Defense Ministry and the Amigur Assets management company began mapping out homes that are eligible for the construction of rocket-proof fortification.

A senior Home Front Command source told JNS that the project began going operational over the past month in the northern community of Kfar Yuval, which sits directly on the border. (Read more)

1. DeSantis: Biden Immigration Policy ‘Effectively a Mass Human Smuggling Operation’ - Brietbart

During an appearance on FNC’s “The Ingraham Angle” on Monday, Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) slammed the Biden administration for neglecting duties for which the federal government was typically responsible. DeSantis said now those duties, mainly immigration, were be left to state governments to handle.

“So, the border is obviously a disaster,” he said. “And some people say, Well, that’s a problem for Texas or Arizona. Well, actually, the Biden administration puts people on planes and flies them into Florida in the wee hours of the morning. So they’ve done over 70 flights in the last six months, dumped people here.

“S]o our view is, if they are going to be dumping, we want to be able to facilitate transfer to places like Delaware. And so we have $8 million in my new budget to be able to do that,” DeSantis said. “But we also look to these carriers that the federal government’s contracting with, and we’re going to pass legislation that says, If you are facilitating Biden’s policies, which is effectively a mass human smuggling operation, you are not going to be eligible to do business with the state of Florida, or other local governments.” (Read More)
- Thank You, Dear Father, that You are imparting new, creative solutions to state leaders, especially Gov. DeSantis in Florida, to deal with executive orders and mandates from Biden, such as immigration and covid related mandates that seem to be both criminal and unconstitutional. Thank you also that states/citizens/parents are learning that they can fight back with success. May more and more governors, other officials and especially citizens creatively and legally unite and fight these egregious government demands and human smuggling. We thank You also for the states that are implementing legislation that at least limits abortion for now.

- Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us,  (Ephesians 3:7)

2. Facebook Admits in Court That ‘Fact Checks’ Are Just Opinion - Brietbart

The bombshell emerged from Facebook’s court battle with John Stossel, who is suing the company for defamation over its decision to add “fact check” labels to the libertarian pundit’s videos about climate change.

“Beyond this threshold Section 230 problem, the complaint also fails to state a claim for defamation. For one, Stossel fails to plead facts establishing that Meta acted with actual malice— which, as a public figure, he must. For another, Stossel’s claims focus on the fact-check articles written by Climate Feedback, not the labels affixed through the Facebook platform. The labels themselves are neither false nor defamatory; to the contrary, they constitute protected opinion. And even if Stossel could attribute Climate Feedback’s separate webpages to Meta, the challenged statements on those pages are likewise neither false nor defamatory. Any of these failures would doom Stossel’s complaint, but the combination makes any amendment futile.”

Facebook, now calling itself “Meta,” asserts that Stossel needs to “attribute Climate Feedback’s separate webpages to Meta” because of the tech company’s outsourcing of censorship to third-party fact checkers, made up of liberal media organizations and nonprofits. Facebook uses this system to distance itself from responsibility from any fact-checks, by arguing that the decisions are made by third-parties rather than the company itself. (Read More)

- Lord God, Facebook is a farce; they call good evil and evil good and punish anyone who disagrees with their opinion via the fact-check foolery or removal from the platform. May the courts rein in this Machiavellian organization. Lord it would be so beautiful if Mark Zuckerberg discovered his Messiah, Yeshua, began a life-long search for Truth and discovered that freedom of speech is an excellent idea. As his eyes begin to open, may he be used by You to spread the Truth, which includes the Good News! May Mark Zuckerberg have a face-to-face encounter with the Living God and move into the true destiny that You, Father, have planned for him.

- For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.  (II Timothy 4:3-4)

3. Commerce Secretary’s Husband Is Top Executive at Tech Firm Funded by Chinese Government - Free Beacon

A venture capital firm backed by the Chinese government is a major investor in an artificial intelligence company that counts Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo's husband as a top executive, a potential conflict of interest as her agency works to counter China on the world stage.

Danhua Capital, based in California but established with the financial backing of the Chinese Communist Party, is one of the main funders of PathAI, an artificial intelligence firm that employs Raimondo's husband, Andy Moffit, as its chief people officer. Danhua Capital has been invested in PathAI since at least 2017, when it joined five other funders to contribute $11 million worth of seed funding for the artificial intelligence startup. It is unclear how much Danhua Capital has invested in PathAI, a private company, but the Chinese firm lists PathAI on its website as one of its featured "biotech and health" investments.

Neither Raimondo nor PathAI responded to requests for comment on Danhua Capital's investment. As commerce secretary, Raimondo is tasked with managing the U.S. business relationship with countries across the globe, and she has emerged as one of the most pro-China voices in the administration. (Read More)

- Lord God, this financial relationship smacks of some degree of governmental conspiracy and foreign intrigue between the U.S. and China. Lord, uncover what drives this dubious connection as PathAl’s focus is artificial intelligence and is considered by the Chinese as a top “biotech and health” investment. May Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo and her husband be dealt with appropriately as there is a clear conflict of interest.  May the U.S. become less and less entangled in finance and commerce with China.

- You shall make no covenant with them, nor with their gods. They shall not dwell in your land, lest they make you sin against Me. For if you serve their gods, it will surely be a snare to you.   (Exodus 23:32)

4. Swalwell, other House Dems back vaccine requirement for boarding planes - Fox Business

Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., and a handful of other House Democrats have expressed their support for a federal COVID-19 vaccine requirement to be allowed to board airplanes.

Swalwell pushed the idea of an air travel vaccine requirement on Twitter Sunday, writing a "prediction" that the country "can go from 60% Americans vaxxed to 80% if we require vaccines to fly."

Rep. Kai Kahele, D-Hawaii, responded to Swalwell a few hours later, pushing his legislation with fellow progressive Rep. Ritchie Torres’, D-N.Y., to create a vaccine requirement for American airline travelers. (Read More)

- Dear Lord, it is obvious that the plans of man have been of no effect in controlling or stopping this virus and in fact have caused misery.  We come against the plans of evil men who have not sought the Lord for the solution to this plague and have instead only taken away our freedoms in order to gain power unconstitutionally.  Lord, may their plans never come together to pass this bill, and may Your people always have access to transportation.

- "Woe to those who plan iniquity, to those who plot evil on their beds!  At morning's light they carry it out because it is in their power to do it."  (Micah 2:1)

5. Meadows texts show Hannity, Don Jr. wanted Trump to stop Jan. 6 riot - The Hill

As rioters stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6, several leading Fox News pundits and Donald Trump’s eldest son all voiced desperate concerns that the former president was doing nothing to quell the violence and protect those in the building, according to damning text messages unveiled Monday night by the select committee investigating the attack.

The stunning messages, submitted to the panel by Mark Meadows, Trump’s former chief of staff, revealed that Sean Hannity, Brian Kilmeade and Laura Ingraham — all superstar Fox personalities with enormous conservative followings — and Donald Trump, Jr. were all pressing Meadows to convince the president to intervene during the early hours of the siege.

But when the president still did not act, his eldest son reached out again to Trump’s chief of staff, according to Jan. 6 Committee Vice Chair Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.), who read the series of texts during a hearing Monday night.
“We need an Oval Office address. He has to lead now. It has gone too far and gotten out of hand,” Trump Jr. texted. (Read More)

- Father God, as these texts are revealed, we pray that ALL communications regarding any collusion from those who would surreptitiously stir up a crowd would also be revealed.  We pray that reasons for actions or inaction will surface and be understood.  Father, we further bind up all evil purposes in this committee, as it seems to seek a political agenda.  We speak freedom for all who are held unjustly in poor conditions by federal authorities.

- "Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the counsels of the hearts.  Then each one's praise will come from God."  (1 Corinthians 4:5)

6. House Jan. 6 panel recommends contempt charges for former Trump chief of staff Mark Meadows - New York Post

The House select committee investigating the Jan. 6 Capitol riot recommended criminal contempt charges Monday for former Trump White House chief of staff Mark Meadows over his refusal to testify. The bipartisan committee voted 9-0 to move forward.

Meadows, a former Republican congressman from North Carolina, has turned over thousands of pages of emails and texts to the House committee but ditched a subpoena to appear for a deposition last week.

Late Sunday evening, the committee, which is being led by Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.), released a 51-page resolution laying out the reasons he should be cited for contempt and the questions they want answered about the White House and former President Donald Trump’s role in the riot. (Read More)

- Now that Mr. Meadows has complied with this questionable request from this questionable committee, we ask, Dear Lord, that you would intervene to stop all further actions that they would contemplate, including leveling contempt charges at him.  We pray that all committee members will remember that they, too, will come under scrutiny in the future and that they will have to answer for their actions in coming against presidential executive privilege.

- "For His eyes are on the ways of man, and He sees all his steps."  (Job 34:21)

7. SCOTUS declines to block New York's COVID vaccine mandate for health care workers - Axios

The Supreme Court on Monday declined to block New York's coronavirus vaccine mandate for health care workers, which does not allow for religious exemptions.

A group of health care workers had sued the state arguing the mandate violated their religious freedoms. Then-Gov. Andrew Cuomo's initial requirement for health care workers included religious exemptions, but Gov. Kathy Hochul did away with the exemptions in an updated mandate after she took office.

Though a federal judge ruled that New York must allow religious exemptions, the Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit upheld the mandate, which went into effect at the end of September. Justices Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas joined Justice Neil Gorsuch in dissenting.  (Read More)

- Oh Holy One, this is absolutely, positively unacceptably wrong.  We rebuke the effect of this decision by the majority of the Supreme Court.  We loose truth and justice into this decision and upon the state of New York.  We ask You to do a work that no man can do by making a way where there seems to be no way for the health care workers affected.  Cause the justices to understand how they have agreed to undermine a core foundation of our Constitutional Republic and may they turn and get new hearts.  In Jesus name.

 8. Philadelphia to require patrons of food establishments be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 - Fox Business

Philadelphia on Monday introduced a new mandate requiring that, beginning in January, individuals be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to enter "any establishment that serves food" in the city.

The city said Monday that starting Jan. 3, Philadelphia establishments that sell food or drink for consumption onsite will require that everyone who enters has "completed their COVID vaccinations."

Philadelphia defined completing vaccinations as having received two doses of either the Pfizer/BioNTech or Moderna vaccine, or a single dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

9. Missing teens found in NYC after vanishing from Long Island last week - Fox News

Two missing New York teens have been found safe five days after they had a classmate drop them off at a suburban Long Island train station for a ride into Manhattan, according to police.

Vincent Abolafia and Kaileigh Catalano, both 15 and from Manorville, New York, made their way to the Long Island Rail Road’s Ronkonkoma station after school on Dec. 9, according to police. They left their cellphones and vaccination cards behind.

Witnesses later spotted them at New York City’s Times Square and other Manhattan locations, but they failed to return home – prompting their parents to report them both missing later that evening. Police were expected to reunite the families later Tuesday. (Read More)

- Oh this is a big Praise!  Two kids on the lam.  Safe and sound and soon to be returned home.  We thank You Father because we live in such a treacherous world, there has been surely deep fears and concerns about these two.  Finding them is such a relief, we pray that everyone involved has drawn closer to You during this difficult time.

- "O Lord, do not rebuke me in Your anger, Nor chasten me in Your hot displeasure.  Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I am weak; . . . "  (Psalm 6:1-2a)

10. Biden Won’t Extend Student Loan Relief And Confirms Student Loan Payments Restart February 1 - Forbes

The Biden administration won’t extend student loan relief and confirmed student loan payments restart February 1, 2022. White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki confirmed to reporters during a press briefing that the Biden administration won’t extend student loan relief — and the student loan payment pause will end January 31, 2022.

Some student loan borrowers have hoped that Biden will deliver a last-minute financial lifeline by enacting wide-scale student loan cancellation. However, there is no indication that Biden will cancel everyone’s student loans. Therefore, don’t expect Biden to cancel student loans before student loan relief ends.

On the contrary, Psaki provided an update on Biden’s actions to date to enact student loan forgiveness. Since becoming president, Biden has cancelled $12.5 billion of student loan debt for approximately 640,000 student loan borrowers. When questioned by a reporter about the Biden administration’s plans to help student loan borrowers, Psaki made no mention of any future plans for wide-scale student loan forgiveness. (Read More)

- Thank You Abba for this little glimmer of extending responsibility to our Gen Z children.  We pray for this to be a good challenge for them to get into the workforce of this nation and help guide things in a better direction.  There are likely to be cries for this to be rescinded, but Father, have Your way in this situation.

- "Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter:  Fear God and keep His commandments, For this is man's all."  (Ecclesiastes 12:13)

The Daily Jot

Seeing Through The Gaslight

The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, December 14, 2021

Does America really think that runaway gas, food, home heating, and consumer goods prices combined with soaring crime and murder rates and rumors of war with Russia, China, and Iran are good for them? Apparently not, since Joe Biden’s approval level is hitting rock bottom. So what does Biden do about it? He calls all the lapdog corporate media that has been censuring all the dissenting information on vaccine mandates to beg them to do the same thing with news related to the economy. And you know what? It worked. Almost immediately, the headlines changed. Biden’s overseeing the most roaring and robust economy of any president in recent memory.

CNN Business reporter Oliver Darcey on Monday, December 6 wrote: “The White House, not happy with the news media’s coverage of the supply chain and economy, has been working behind the scenes trying to reshape coverage in its favor. Senior White House and admin officials–including NEC Deputy Directors David Kamin and Bharat Ramamurti, along with Ports Envoy John Porcari–have been briefing major newsrooms over the past week, a source tells me. The officials have been discussing with newsrooms trends pertaining to job creation, economic growth, supply chains, and more. The basic argument that has been made: That the country’s economy is in much better shape than it was last year. I’m told the conversations have been productive, with anchors and reporters and producers getting to talk with the officials.” Read More

BEWARE THE DIABOLICAL 'BUILD BACK BETTER' BILL
Note: This article was written by Keith Guinta-Opinion - The Wine Patch : Dec 14, 2021 and published by Intercessors For America and Breaking Christian News. To read more, go here.

I have studied the creation, development, ingredients, and adverse effects of the SARS-COV-2 genetic jab for nearly a year now. So much so, I could probably pass a biology test on the basics of the science.

However, despite my ardent investigative rigor, just this week I uncovered new information which leaves me even more horrified at the Hellish nature of this genetic potation.

Note to self: When the government, corporate media, big tech, and big pharma all concur and collude to project a unified narrative upon the screen of our uninformed citizenry, you can bet the farm that a scandalous lie is being sold. (Then again, you probably already lost your farm to Bill Gates' monopolistic land seize).

The lies and deceptions being propagated today are not just inconvenient falsehoods or hapless white lies. No, what is happening today is a mass-hypnotic deception that, if left unchecked, will convince our populace to willfully march in lockstep off a cliff.

Having learned well not to trust what I am told, my next investigative foray has been through the endless pages of the Build Back Better Bill. The demons who incanted this proposed legislation are counting on one foundational assumption; you will never take the time to read it.

Despite the heroic efforts of the 2022 Speaker, Bill HR 5376 was pushed through the House like a lump of clay through a Play-Doh Factory. It doesn't matter which mold is used, the output from this chamber is precisely as lifeless as the input. We can only pray that the Senate erects a wall against this repulsively un-American set of propositions.

While I don't pretend to be a microbiologist nor a counselor of governmental law, there are some basic things to consider. Like, your privacy.

Lord God, we pray that this bill would be blocked and that the terrible ideas that are enshrined in this bill would be wholly rejected by the American people and our elected officials.

'Tech Moves Into the Body'-Implants, Microchips, and Biohacking

(Published by: Intercessors for America)

What if the key to all your personal information was contained in a tiny chip, placed just below your skin? With this chip you could open doors, retrieve concert tickets, access your bank account and provide medical records with the swipe of your hand. Likely you already know about these possibilities because articles and videos describing the technology have surfaced in the news over the past few years. In addition, with the advent of vaccine passports the average person is doing more research. It’s easy to see that society is trading convenience for constant surveillance.

Back in 2018, it was reported that thousands of Swedish citizens were having microchips inserted into their hands. This new technology, which is the size of a grain of rice, allowed recipients to access their homes, offices and gyms with a simple wave of the hand. They could even use it to log into their computer. For the affordable price of approximately $180.00, the chip is inserted using a syringe. The process takes just a few minutes and is so easy to do that companies and groups often host “implant parties.” The chips are not only a substitute for keys, but they can also store information such as social media profiles, e-tickets and emergency contacts.

These microchips were the brainchild of a former body piercer by the name of Jowan Osterlund. Since premiering the technology, he says he’s been “hit up by hopeful investors on every continent but Antarctica.” He adds, Tech will move into the body…I am sure of that.”

Osterlund is the founder of Biohax International. He believes the human body can be hacked through the use of technology. (Read more here.)

- Lord, you know the end from the beginning and nothing on the horizon surprises you. We ask for your continual protection, wisdom and discernment regarding the advent of new technologies that invade our privacy, and have the capacity to usher in global surveillance.

- "Ah, Sovereign LORD, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you." (
Jeremiah 32:17)

"So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth; it will not return to Me empty, Without accomplishing what I desire, and without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it." (Isaiah 55:11)

Signs & Wonders
When Old Man Winter visits the hottest place on Earth
It's known for one thing, and it's certainly not wintry conditions. But in the span of one decade, this arid region recorded both the highest temperature in world history and measurable snowfall.

Pack your skis, we're heading to Death Valley.

The hottest location on Earth has topped the 130-degree mark three times in recorded history, is drier than the Sahara Desert and once, just once, received a half-inch of snow.

It wasn't the only instance in history that snow has been documented in the desert region, as trace amounts were recorded on five other occasions. But the unprecedented day in 1922 was the only time a measurable amount has ever fallen.

According to data from the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the Death Valley snow was observed at a weather station situated at Greenland Ranch on Jan. 29, 1922, when a half-inch was recorded. No information was given about what time the snow fell.

But that certainly doesn't mean the snow didn't fall.

Researchers Steven Roof and Charlie Callagan, in a 2003 article titled "The Climate of Death Valley, California," published by the Bulletin of the American Meteorological Society, noted that the Furnace Creek observers also reported rainfall from that day, thus eliminating the possibility that they wrote the precipitation value in the wrong column.

Cross Remains Standing at Kentucky Church Ravaged by Tornado:

'The Gospel Will Remain for Eternity'
- Father God, we thank You for the words of this wonderful pastor: "In the middle of the storm, there's only one place where we truly have peace. . . And that's when we place our faith and our trust in Jesus." Amen.

- "The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms." (Deuteronomy 33:27)

Less than 48 hours after a historic tornado ravaged a rural Kentucky community, members of the local Baptist church walked across glass and debris to gather Sunday in a tattered sanctuary and find solace amidst a life-changing tragedy.

First Baptist Church in Mayfield suffered major damage to its roof and windows during Friday's deadly tornado, although the structure itself remains standing. At least 74 people were killed in Mayfield and across Kentucky.

Wes Fowler, the church's pastor, posted an invitation on Facebook Saturday night inviting his members to gather Sunday morning for a brief service in the sanctuary, warning them that glass remains on the floor and that the church's chairs had been removed. Fowler, though, quickly added, "The Lord is kind" and "will see us through this tragic situation."

On Sunday, dozens of church members and residents showed up at the sanctuary, standing throughout the service to sing, pray and worship.

"In the middle of the storm, there's only one place where we truly have peace," Fowler told them. "And that's when we place our faith and our trust in Jesus." (Christian Headlines)

Chapter Seven: Even More Joy Will Surface as Repentance Reveals Your Life Purpose

The Amplified version of the Bible in Mark 1: 14-15 states:

"Now after John [the Baptist] was arrested and taken into custody, Jesus went to Galilee, preaching the good news of [the kingdom of] God,  and saying, “The[appointed period of] time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent [change your inner self—your old way of thinking, regret past sins, live your life in a way that proves repentance; seek God’s purpose for your life] and believe [with a deep, abiding trust] in the good news [regarding salvation].”

When you sincerely repent and by faith declare Jesus Christ as your Lord you are filled with the Holy Spirit and can then seek His Wisdom as to His purpose for your life. You are a miracle! You were born for this very time! You have a key life purpose to advance His Kingdom in this time. The Lord knew you from the time of the creation of the earth, and when you were in your mother's womb.  He formed your inward parts. He knows the days fashioned for you, written in His book (Psalm 139:16).  Read More

Scripture: The cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. Galatians 6:14

Lyrics:
On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross,
The emblem of suffering and shame;
And I love that old cross where the dearest and best
For a world of lost sinners was slain.

Refrain
So I’ll cherish the old rugged cross,
Till my trophies at last I lay down;
I will cling to the old rugged cross,
And exchange it some day for a crown.

O that old rugged cross, so despised by the world,
Has a wondrous attraction for me;
For the dear Lamb of God left His glory above
To bear it to dark Calvary.

Refrain

In that old rugged cross, stained with blood so divine,
A wondrous beauty I see,
For ’twas on that old cross Jesus suffered and died,
To pardon and sanctify me.

Refrain

To the old rugged cross I will ever be true;
Its shame and reproach gladly bear;
Then He’ll call me some day to my home far away,
Where His glory forever I’ll share.

Refrain
