Biden's Energy Secretary Secretly Consulted With the Chinese. Here's What Happened
|
|
In 2021, gas prices in the United States shot through the roof. American working families were being bled dry getting to work. And what did Biden’s energy secretary, Jennifer Granholm, do amid this crisis: she decided to hold secret talks with Chinese energy officials instead. These covert consultations occurred days before the Biden administration stupidly tapped into the strategic petroleum reserve. Fox News aligned the calendars showing that it’s possible that Granholm discussed what the United States was about to do regarding the SPR with the Chinese before it was made public.
The high-ranking Chinese official is part of the China Petrochemical Corporation, which purchased oil released from the SPR. But I’m sure the Bidens’ reported dealings with the Chinese in the past had nothing to do with this, right (via Fox News).
Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm engaged in multiple conversations with the Chinese government's top energy official days before the Biden administration announced it would tap the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) to combat high gas prices in 2021.
Granholm's previously-undisclosed talks with China National Energy Administration Chairman Zhang Jianhua — revealed in internal Energy Department calendars obtained by Americans for Public Trust (APT) and shared with Fox News Digital — reveal that the Biden administration likely discussed its plans to release oil from the SPR with China before its public announcement. (TownHall) Read more here.
- Father, we are at a point where secret movements of government officials are causing serious issues and danger from our adversaries. We pray that all actions of this administration not only be revealed, but dealt with according to your righteous judgment. We pray for a mighty move of repentance throughout the nation.
- “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.” (Matthew 5:6)

DOJ seeks order banning Trump from sharing evidence after ‘I’m coming after you!’
|
|
The Justice Department has asked the federal judge overseeing Donald Trump’s election fraud case to issue a protective order after the former president appeared to threaten revenge on those who “go after” him.
Special counsel Jack Smith argued in the Friday night filing that Trump, 77, needs strict orders that prevent him from publicly sharing key details about the four-count indictment, which was brought down on Tuesday.
The DOJ request was made hours after Trump wrote “IF YOU GO AFTER ME, I’M COMING AFTER YOU!,” in a Truth Social post.
“If the defendant were to begin issuing public posts using details — or, for example, grand jury transcripts— obtained in discovery here, it could have a harmful chilling effect on witnesses or adversely affect the fair administration of justice in this case,” Smith wrote in the filing. (New York Post) Read more here.
- Lord, we pray that all these legal issues against the former President will fade away. We ask that his anger would be bound tightly to Your heart. We thank You that he is a strong-willed man who can take on anything and anyone for the nation he loves. But we do ask that You grant him wisdom and grace and help him find you in the midst of his troubles.
- “Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16)

More Than 440 Reporters Have Lost Press Passes Since Biden Admin Changed Rules
|
|
At least 442 reporters have lost their credentials since the White House press office changed its rules for journalists to be eligible for permanent passes, according to reports.
The White House announced updated standards for a yearly renewal of “hard passes” in May. Journalists who do not obtain hard passes can still apply for a day pass.
Politico reported the number of credentialed White House correspondents dropped from 1417 to 975 after the previous passes expired July 31, with the new number reflecting “a mix of renewals and new applications.”
The White House told Politico that only one reporter had their application for a new hard pass denied, the hundreds who lost their passes this week presumably did not reapply, some due to not meeting the new qualifications.
For those who are losing their hard passes, the White House was said to have granted many of them a grace period until August 10 to keep their current passes and submit their materials to gain new ones.
The White House press office announced their updated standards in an email sent to all White House “Hard Pass Holders” in May with the guidelines for journalists to successfully renew their hard passes. (CF.org) Read more here.
- Lord, this appears on the surface to be an assault against smaller media outlets, which are primarily Conservative. The new rules are extremely stringent, and many smaller outlets can’t pass them. We pray that the First Amendment, freedom of the press, would prevail so that Americans can discern the truth.
- “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” (Ephesians 6:12)

1. ‘Bet on it’: Netanyahu says Israel about to make history with Saudis - JNS
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is confident his government can achieve some form of normalization with Saudi Arabia in the coming months, Netanyahu said in an interview with Bloomberg Televisionbroadcasted on Monday.
“I think that we are about to witness a pivot of history,” he told Bloomberg’s Francine Lacqua. “First, there is an economic corridor of energy, transport and communications that naturally goes through our geography from Asia through the Arabian Peninsula to Europe.
“We are going to realize that,” vowed the prime minister, adding, “Saudi Arabia is one of the exceptional things that tells you why I’m very optimistic about Israel.” (Read more)

2. PM indicates he would make concessions to Palestinians to achieve Saudi deal - Times of Israel
In an interview released Monday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu indicated that he was open to gestures to Palestinians if a normalization deal with Saudi Arabia depended on it, and hinted that he would not let coalition members block an agreement.
“Do I think it’s feasible to have that, and do I think that political questions will block it? I doubt it,” Netanyahu told Bloomberg News. “If there’s political will, there will be a political way to achieve normalization and a formal peace between Israel and Saudi Arabia.
“I think there’s enough room to discuss possibilities,” he added. (Read more)

3. Israeli Cabinet divided on concessions to PA - JNS
Clear disagreements emerged between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the one hand, and National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich on the other, during a meeting of Israel’s Security Cabinet on Sunday.
The dispute centered on whether Israel should employ more stringent measures in light of recent Palestinian terrorist attacks with criticism expressed towards the United States over its criticism of Israel’s government.
The Security Cabinet decided to suspend the collection of the debt owed to Israel by the Palestinian Authority for another year.
The ministers were presented with a host of other steps that would prevent the P.A. from collapsing financially, including the transfer of tax revenue Israel collects on its behalf, expanding the Tarqumiyah Industrial Zone near Hebron and expanding the operating hours of the Allenby Crossing from Jordan. Some of the measures were approved. (Read more)

1. Biden admin blocks more than 1.5 million acres from oil drilling after eco groups' legal challenges - Fox
The Biden administration proposed a plan to lock up nearly 1.6 million acres of public lands from oil and gas development across western Colorado in response to multiple legal challenges filed by environmental groups.
In a draft supplemental environmental impact statement announced Thursday, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) issued so-called resource management plans for its Grand Junction Field Office and Colorado River Valley field offices which oversee mineral leasing in the area. The proposal would restrict the two offices to leasing just 239,000 acres and 143,000 acres, respectively, for fossil fuel production, a total reduction of about 80%.
"Public participation is key to the development of Resource Management Plans," BLM Upper Colorado River District Manager Greg Larson said in a statement. "This new analysis will ensure the BLM’s management of these areas will best serve our multiple use mission for the future."
BLM's proposal comes after years of legal challenges spearheaded by several environmental groups that argued the federal government failed to take climate change and greenhouse gas emissions into consideration when formulating its resource management plans, which are issued by field offices to outline how they will manage designated lands for the next 20 years. (Read more)
- Lord, the undue influence of eco groups is causing havoc with US energy, and costing incredible amounts of taxpayer money. Though we wish to preserve many areas, the drive to quash oil drilling will result in serious problems for Americans. We ask that this proposal fail.

2. Devon Archer: Joe Biden’s Claims of No Family Business Involvement Are ‘Categorically False’ – Breitbart
President Joe Biden’s claims of not being a part of or privy to the Biden family business deals are “categorically false,” Devon Archer told Tucker Carlson during an interview released Friday. While many pieces of evidence show Joe Biden was involved in his family’s business deals, Archer added himself to the list.
“Joe Biden had no role whatsoever in his son’s business or knowledge of it, right? That seems false,” Tucker stated to Archer.
“I think that’s categorically false,” Archer confirmed. “I think that’s not factually right.”
“I think he was aware of Hunter’s business,” Archer said. “He met with Hunter’s business partners. I mean, you found a letter that he wrote to me,” Archer said, describing a thank you note he received from Joe Biden in 2011 (Read more)

3. ‘Squad’ Dem. Rashida Tlaib Ripped Over Attending Event Celebrating Palestinian Terror, Israel’s Demise- Breitbart
Michigan congresswoman and far-left “Squad” member Rashida Tlaib is facing backlash after attending an event celebrating Palestinian terror, glorifying “martyrs,” and calling for the destruction of the Jewish state.
Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), a third-term member of Congress long accused of anti-American and anti-Israel rhetoric, participated in a controversial Palestinian art show in Detroit, the Arab American News reported.
The May show, organized by the pro-Palestinian Handala Coalition, featured several works bearing the slogan, “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.”
Implying that “Palestine” rests between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea — where Israel currently exists — the statement is code for eradicating the Jewish state and its millions of Jewish citizens.
Another display depicts a Palestinian woman who appears to be carrying a gun, alongside the phrase, “Power To Our Freedom Fighters, Glory To Our Martyrs” — apparently in reference to the Palestinian terrorists who take the lives of Israeli civilians of all ages. (Read more)
- Lord, You are merciful and gracious, but this woman hates Your people and ultimately by extension, You. We pray for the truth of Messiah Jesus to come to her in the night seasons, and may she have a change of heart. IF that is impossible, we pray for her removal from our Congress.

4. ‘Slow-Motion Heist’: Midwestern Farmers Accuse Chinese Communist Party Of Stealing Valuable American Seeds – Daily Caller
Multiple Iowan farmers accused the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) on Thursday of arranging the theft of valuable genetically-modified seeds in the U.S., according to Newsweek.
The farmers alleged that Chinese nationals have been known to dig up genetically modified seeds, which are the product of scientific research and improve crop yields, making the seeds a valuable trade secret for the American agricultural sector, according to Newsweek. The farmers conveyed the allegations to a bipartisan delegation of congressional lawmakers who sat for a Thursday roundtable meeting in Dysart, Iowa.
Farmers pay a fee in order to use the genetically modified seeds, one farmer explained to Newsweek. When Chinese nationals steal those seeds so that they can be used in China and allow Chinese firms to skip research and development, they are stealing American intellectual property (IP) and trade secrets in order to gain an advantage, the farmer elaborated. (Read more)
- Lord, we pray that justice will prevail for our farmers. We pray that all thefts of intellectual property by China be compensated back to the victims of the theft.
- “If a man steals an ox or a sheep, and kills it or sells it, he shall repay five oxen for an ox, and four sheep for a sheep. If a thief is found breaking in and is struck so that he dies, there shall be no bloodguilt for him, but if the sun has risen on him, there shall be bloodguilt for him. He shall surely pay. If he has nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft. If the stolen beast is found alive in his possession, whether it is an ox or a donkey or a sheep, he shall pay double. “If a man causes a field or vineyard to be grazed over, or lets his beast loose and it feeds in another man's field, he shall make restitution from the best in his own field and in his own vineyard. ...” (Exodus 22: 1-31)

5. Illegal Biolab Discovered In California Tied To Chinese Medical Firms – Daily Caller
The company that allegedly operated an illegal biolab in California housing infectious agents has ties to multiple related Chinese pharmaceutical firms, according to a Daily Caller News Foundation review of court filings and government records.
In mid-June, officials from Fresno County began removing medical waste from an “unlicensed” laboratory in Reedley, California, operated by Prestige Biotech Inc. (PBI), the successor of defunct Universal Meditech Inc. (UMI), Fresno County court records show. Inspectors at the site discovered at least 20 potentially infectious agents, such as Malaria and Dengue virus, on the property, according to the documents.
Business filings show that some PBI and UMI executives appear to share the same names and addresses with one of the lab’s Chinese pharmaceutical suppliers. (Read more)
- Lord, we pray that if there are any more of such illegal labs, in the US, that You will find them and reveal them before anyone is harmed. Thank you that this one was found. We come against those who put it there and ask that You change their hearts and minds.

6. Judge Hands Trump a Win, Says Stolen Election Claims Protected by Presidential Immunity Western Journal
A Pennsylvania state judge ruled Monday that a county election worker cannot sue former President Donald Trump for statements he made while in office questioning the integrity of the 2020 election.
James Savage, a voting machine supervisor in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, outside of Philadelphia, filed two lawsuits against Trump arguing statements Trump made via Twitter in November 2020 regarding the election’s integrity defamed him and subjected him to “hatred” and death threats, resulting in him experiencing two heart attacks.
Trump made the statements during a GOP-led Pennsylvania State Senate Majority Policy Committee in Gettysburg reviewing claims of election fraud. (Read more)
- Lord, these statements by President Trump should be protected speech, not prosecutable statements as we have seen in the indictments against him. We pray that all charges will be dropped before the 2024 Presidential election. We also pray for Donald Trump’s heart and mind, that You will heal him and grant him peace.
- “You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.” (Isaiah 26:3)

7. GOP Rep. Ronny Jackson Handcuffed, Detained While Trying to Help with Medical Emergency at Rodeo – Western Journal
On Saturday, trying to do the right thing led to Republican Rep. Ronny Jackson of Texas being put in handcuffs and briefly detained. The incident happened at the White Deer Rodeo in the town of White Deer about 40 miles from Amarillo, according to the Texas Tribune.
A statement from Jackson’s office said he was attending the rodeo when he was “summoned by someone in the crowd to assist a 15-year-old girl who was having a medical emergency nearby.” The statement that Jackson, who was a White House doctor for former President Barack Obama, was informed by a relative that the girl needed help in addition to the assistance being provided because “no uniformed EMS providers on the scene at the time.”
“While assessing the patient in a very loud and chaotic environment, confusion developed with law enforcement on the scene and Dr. Jackson was briefly detained and was actually prevented from further assisting the patient,” the statement continued. “He was immediately released as soon as law enforcement realized that he, as a medical professional, was tending to the young girl’s medical emergency.” (Read more)
- Lord, this is a ridiculous situation. Rep Jackson is a well-known person. To have deputies screaming at him and shoving him back when he was trying to help in an emergency medical case is crazy. We ask that You touch the hearts of these deputies and if discipline is required, we pray that it be meted to them. We also pray for total healing for the young girl who needed medical attention.

8. Federal Judge Blocks Illinois Law Targeting Crisis Pregnancy Centers: ‘Violation Of The First Amendment’ - Daily Wire
A federal judge has blocked a new Illinois law that targets crisis pregnancy centers in the state, saying that it violates the First Amendment.
The bill that was signed into law last week by Governor J.B. Pritzker (D-IL) allows the state’s attorney general to investigate a case of alleged consumer fraud against crisis pregnancy centers accused of deceptive practices, but it has raised concerns that it would be used to target pro-life centers that suggest an association between abortion and breast cancer or infertility.
“The bill is painfully and blatantly a violation of the First Amendment,” U.S. District Judge Iain Johnston said on Thursday.
“There’s no doubt who the Attorney General wants to win or lose in the market place of ideas, but the government doesn’t get to decide that,” Johnston, a Trump-appointee, added. “The people do.” (Read more)
- Lord, we pray that this ruling will stand, and that nothing will cause it to be removed. We pray Your Mighty Protection over pregnancy centers in all states that operate in Your perfect will.

9. Federal Court Upholds Connecticut Law Eliminating Religious Exemptions For Childhood Vaccines - Daily Wire
A Connecticut law eliminating religious exemptions for childhood vaccines is constitutional and legal, according to a federal appeals court.
In a Friday ruling, the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit dismissed the claim that refusal to accept religious exemptions for vaccinations was unconstitutional.
“[I]t is not enough for a law to simply affect religious practice; the law or the process of its enactment must demonstrate ‘hostility’ to religion,” stated the court. “[E]xempting a student from the vaccination requirement because of a medical condition and exempting a student who declines to be vaccinated for religious reasons are not comparable in relation to the State’s interest.”
The court also said that the accommodations for religious objectors nullified arguments that the law was hostile to religion, citing a provision in the law allowing children already enrolled in K-12 to maintain their religious exemptions. (Read more)
- Father, we ask that this ruling be sent to the Supreme Court, so that all parents may have the ability to opt out of vaccines based on their religious beliefs.
- “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” (John 8:36)

Because He First Loved Us
The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, August 7, 2023
In 1860, Anna B. Warner wrote the song “Jesus Loves Me.” Many of us grew up with this song in Sunday School because it tells us as children that “Jesus loves me. This I know, for the Bible tells me so.” There are five verses. As kids, we probably didn’t sing all five, but the last verse goes like this: “Jesus loves me! He will stay Close beside me all the way; Thou hast bled and died for me, I will henceforth live for Thee.” Also, in the 1800’s, Hymnist Fanny Crosby wrote a similarly-themed hymn “Because He first loved me,” saying, “I love my blessed Savior because He first loved me.” These songs have a far deeper meaning that goes back to the time of Moses teaching the Israelites about God’s love and how to experience it.
In Deuteronomy 7:12, Moses says, “And because you listen to these rules and keep and do them, the LORD your God will keep with you the covenant and the love that he swore to your father’s.” The traditional Jewish interpretation of this verse is, “because you will listen…” as in, “and it shall be that your heel is ready to take a step, you will listen to your heart.” This is the step of faith, as you walk with God, you will come to know that love—and love Him in return. Listening and responding, is the point. If the people listen to God’s word and are obedient to it, then the blessings of God will be abundant. The more we walk with the LORD God, and hear His ways, the closer we will be drawn to Him. Read More

China, Russia send naval warships near Alaska, triggering forceful US response

'We've entered a new era of authoritarian aggression,' Sen Dan Sullivan tells Fox News Digital
|
|
China and Russia conducted a joint naval operation near U.S. territory earlier this week, triggering a large response from the U.S. Navy, Fox News Digital has learned.
The joint operation, conducted by two significant American adversaries, consisted of 11 ships and neared Alaska's southwestern coast, according to Sen. Dan Sullivan, R-Alaska, who was briefed on the matter earlier this week by U.S. defense officials. Sullivan said the U.S. Navy ultimately mobilized four destroyers to guide the Chinese and Russian ships away from American waters.
"This is unprecedented in terms of the size and scope of this joint naval task force between Russia and China, working very closely together," Sullivan told Fox News Digital in a phone interview late Saturday. "Whether you live in Alaska like I do, or on the East Coast of the United States, a very large surface action task force between our two main adversaries, probing very closely to United States shores is concerning. ... It just solidifies this idea that we've entered a new era of authoritarian aggression led by the dictators in Beijing and Moscow who are increasingly aggressive." (Fox News) Read more here.

Federal judge comes out swinging against DOJ special counsel in Trump classified docs case
|
|
|
Special Counsel Jack Smith's use of out-of-state grand jury to continue investigating case questioned
|
|
The federal judge overseeing the classified documents case against former President Donald Trump delivered multiple blows to Special Counsel Jack Smith's efforts in a brief Monday.
Judge Aileen Cannon of the Southern District of Florida – who is presiding over the case that stems from a Miami grand jury's June indictment of Trump – denied the Department of Justice's (DOJ) request for sealed filings, striking two from the record. Cannon also requested additional information from prosecutors about the continued use of an out-of-state grand jury to investigate the case.
"The Special Counsel states in conclusory terms that the supplement should be sealed from public view ‘to comport with grand jury secrecy,’ but the motion for leave and the supplement plainly fail to satisfy the burden of establishing a sufficient legal or factual basis to warrant sealing the motion and supplement," Cannon wrote in the brief, denying the DOJ's request.
"Among other topics as raised in the Motion, the response shall address the legal propriety of using an out-of-district grand jury proceeding to continue to investigate and/or to seek post-indictment hearings on matters pertinent to the instant indicted matter in this district," she continued in the brief. (Fox News) Read more here.
|
|
- Lord God, we thank You for this righteous ruling and we ask that You keep Judge Aileen Cannon safe from all harm in the days ahead. We ask the same for her family and the members of her staff. Thank You, O Lord, for hearing our prayer, amen and amen!
- "The LORD will guard you from all evil; He will preserve your soul." (Psalm 121:7)

Cori Bush slapped with ethics complaint alleging she abused government resources for campaign purposes
|
|
|
Missouri Democratic Rep. Cori Bush is facing an ethics complaint alleging she used government resources for campaign purposes in violation of House rules, Fox News Digital has learned.
On Thursday, the Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust (FACT) lodged a complaint with the Office of Congressional Ethics (OCE) requesting a prompt investigation into whether Bush violated rules and misused official resources from a campaign social media account.
"Rep. Bush's abuse of official resources for political purposes shows a flagrant disregard for the law," FACT executive director Kendra Arnold told Fox News Digital. "These laws and ethics rules are in place to maintain the integrity of official proceedings, so members cannot leverage them for political advantage." (Fox News) Read more here.

A newly discovered colossal whale might be the heaviest animal ever, study finds
|
|
The discovery is the latest result of a diverse group of researchers’ “intense activity” that began in 2006 in southern Peru “in one of the most important fossil vertebrate assemblages of the Cenozoic Era” that occurred about 66 million years ago, the lead author said.
(CNN) — A colossal ancient whale discovered in Peru might be the heaviest animal on record, according to a new study.
At an estimated body mass of 85 to 340 metric tons (187,393 to 749,572 pounds), the heft of the now-extinct Perucetus colossus is equivalent to or exceeds that of the blue whale, which had indisputably been considered the animal with the greatest body mass until now, said Giovanni Bianucci, first author of the study published Wednesday in the journal Nature.
The partial skeleton of Perucetus, consisting of 13 vertebrae, four ribs and one hip bone, is estimated to be 17 to 20 meters (55.8 to 65.6 feet) long. The fossil specimen is shorter than that of a 25-meter-long (82-foot-long) blue whale — but its skeletal mass still potentially exceeded that of any known mammal or sea vertebrate, including its gigantic relative, according to the study. Capacity Crowd Attends Kirk Cameron's Alabama Library Event
Hundreds More Follow at Local Church
|
|
Kirk Cameron's "See You at the Library" event that was initially canceled by Huntsville-Madison County Public Library System in Alabama – but then was allowed to proceed at the public library on Saturday – was a huge success, according to multiple media reports. The event saw a capacity crowd of 225 attend the book-reading event sponsored by the Madison Chapter of the Moms for Liberty. Parents and their children listened to former NCAA swimmer Riley Gaines and Cameron read from their books as part of Brave Books' "See You at the Library Day," a national effort at hundreds of libraries across the U.S. to read and share family-friendly content. It was one of the actor-producer-author's first stops on his scheduled national tour of more than 260 libraries in 46 states, his publisher BRAVE Books told Fox News. A group of protestors tried to enter the Madison library event, but their efforts to disrupt the story hour were thwarted by Huntsville police, according to the outlet.
Huntsville's The Rock Church had offered its facilities after the book-reading event had been canceled at the library. It became a second stop for the event as hundreds more showed up after the event at the Madison library to sing songs, recite the Pledge of Allegiance, hear Gaines speak, and hear Cameron read from his Brave Book title, Pride Comes Before The Fall, according to Red State. Only three days before the scheduled event, the Huntsville-Madison County Public Library System released a statement Thursday claiming the event was simply too big to be accommodated by its facilities, according to CBN's Faithwire. The lawyer stated any refusal to overturn the cancellation would be seen as "unlawful and unconstitutional religious viewpoint and content discrimination in violation of the Alabama Constitution and the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution." Late Friday afternoon, the library reversed its decision, allowing the event to be held. In his own statement shared with Fox Digital, Cameron said the agreement between his team and the library was a testimony to "the power of moms and dads gathering in prayer." (CBN) Read More
