Every Republican senator but one protests Biden administration’s ‘partial arms embargo’ on Israel
|
|
Senate Republicans called on the Biden administration to expedite arms deliveries to Israel, accusing the White House of slow-rolling weapons sales to the Jewish state.
“We write once again to protest your administration’s partial arms embargo against Israel,” wrote the 48 Republicans on Friday, led by Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.). “The actions of the Biden-Harris administration run counter to our long history of robust military cooperation with Israel and cast doubt upon the reliability of the United States as a long-term security partner.
“Your actions also violate the will of Congress, as expressed in the recent supplemental that funded emergency military support to Israel,” the senators added. “Your administration must stop accommodating Iran and its terrorist allies now.”
Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), who has previously taken positions opposing U.S. aid to Israel, was the lone Senate Republican not to sign the letter.
The letter alleges that the Biden administration is “deliberately delaying” 120-millimeter tank ammunition, 120-millimeter mortar ammunition, light tactical vehicles, air-to-air missiles, F-15s, F-35 engines, joint direct attack munition kits, 2,000-pound bombs, rifles and guided missile systems.
The Biden administration has repeatedly insisted that the only weapons shipment that it paused is the delivery of 2,000-pound bombs, which it argues are likely to cause excessive civilian casualties in densely-populated Gazan cities. U.S. officials have also held up the delivery of M4 and M16 rifles, intended for the Israeli National Police, per the Wall Street Journal. (JNS.org) Read more.

- Father, we pray for continued boldness from the Senators on behalf of Israel and we thank You that they are speaking out and insisting on such support, in Jesus name. Abba, You stand outside time and space, so we ask You to bring forth all the scriptures, prayers, decrees and declarations spoken on Israel's behalf over the ages and release them on her behalf now, in Yeshua's name. May there be strong alignment and blessing from our nation to Israel and that You Father, cause them to be victorious in every conflict, for Your glory. Amen.

CENTCOM chief in Mideast to mobilize against Iranian attack
|
|
Gen. Erik Kurilla, commander of U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), arrived in the Middle East on Saturday amid sky-high tensions as Israel prepares for an imminent attack by Iran and its terrorist proxies.
The trip by the general in charge of American forces in the region was already planned. However, in light of Tehran’s pledge to retaliate for the targeted killing of Hamas terrorist leader Ismail Haniyeh on its soil on July 31, his visit will focus on building a multilateral defensive alliance similar to the one that fended off the vast majority of the more than 300 missiles and explosive drones Iran fired at the Jewish state in mid-April. (JNS.org) Read more here.

|
- Mighty God, we call for Your divine wisdom for Israel and her allies against all retaliatory attacks, in Jesus name. We pray against the spirit of revenge and bind it on earth as in heaven, in Jesus name, as it is written. May this Centcom Chief hear from You Father and bring support and alignment with Israel against those desiring destruction, in Jesus name and we pray for Your Psalm 91 covering over Your beloved nation, in Jesus name, Amen.
- "Then they remembered that God was their rock, And the Most High God their Redeemer." (Psalm 78:35)

U.S. to send more warships, fighter jets to Middle East to bolster defenses
|
|
Tehran and its terror proxies could begin firing at Israel any day now, with the barrage expected to be bigger than the one in April.
|
|
Hezbollah, Iran’s Lebanese terror proxy, has separately vowed revenge for the targeted killing of senior member Fuad Shukr in Beirut on July 30.
Israel took responsibility for the Shukr killing, which occurred after Hezbollah murdered 12 children on a soccer field in the Druze Golan town of Majdal Shams on July 27. Jerusalem has not commented on the Haniyeh hit.
Kurilla is expected to visit several Gulf states, Jordan and Israel. Amman is an important stop because King Abdullah II played a pivotal role during the April 13 onslaught. (JNS.org) Read more here.

- Holy One of Israel, We pray for the US Defense Secretary to take appropriate action in support of Israel in the tenuous period, in Jesus name. May the defensive resources be in place, activated and engaged in order to respond to any dangers that come against Israel. We pray for the bomb shelters to be well-prepared, accessible and secure enough to protect all the people of Israel. We pray also for the safety of all troops, citizens, and the leadership, in Jesus name.

Gorsuch has stern message when asked about Biden Supreme Court proposals: 'Be careful'
|
|
Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch touted the importance of an independent judiciary
|
|
Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch had little to say when asked about President Biden's proposals to overhaul the Supreme Court, but he did deliver a brief message.
When asked by "Fox News Sunday" host Shannon Bream about Biden's suggestions for changes to the Supreme Court, Gorsuch said he did not want to get into "what is now a political issue during a presidential election year." He then continued, however, stressing the importance of an "independent judiciary," particularly for those who are unpopular.
"It's there for the moments when the spotlight's on you, when the government's coming after you. And don't you want a ferociously independent judge and a jury of your peers to make those decisions? Isn't that your right as an American?" Gorsuch said. "And so I just say, be careful."
Biden and Vice President Harris are calling on Congress to impose term limits and a code of conduct on the Supreme Court while also drafting limits on presidential immunity, a White House official said in late July. (Fox News) Read more here.

|
- Holy One, we pray for the independence of the Supreme Court and that they are protected from executive overreach, in the name of Jesus. We bind the plans of all those who would manipulate the court in a way to serve their purposes for "lawfare". We declare that the judicial branch of our government will remain sovereign and free from undue influences, ideology outside of the Constitution or threats, in Jesus name.
- "'How long will you speak these things, And the words of your mouth be like a strong wind? Does God subvert judgment? Or does the Almighty pervert justice? If your sons have sinned against Him, He has cast them away for their transgression.'" (Job 8:2-4)

2. Iran warns airlines of potential GPS disruptions over the country - Times of Israel
Iran has issued a notice to airlines, known as a NOTAM, warning of GPS disruptions over the country.
The significance of the disruptions is not immediately clear, nor who may be behind them, though GPS disruptions are sometimes used to confuse the targeting of precision-guided missiles.
The notice comes as the Middle East is braced for a forceful Iranian attack on Israel following the killing of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran last week, widely attributed to Jerusalem. (Read more)

3. UN investigation reveals 9 UNRWA employees ‘may have been involved in Oct. 7’ atrocities - World Israel News
An internal UN investigation revealed that 9 UNRWA employees “may have been involved in” the October 7th atrocities in Israel and have been fired.
The Office of Internal Oversight Services (OIOS), an independent branch of the UN, concluded the investigation of terrorist ties and activity within the Palestinian refugee relief organization.
After investigating 19 UNRWA members, OIOS concluded that there was some evidence that 9 of them “may have been involved” in the Hamas invasion and announced that the employment of these people has been “terminated in the interests of the Agency.”
In nine other cases, there was “insufficient evidence” of their involvement with Hamas, and in one case, they said there was no evidence. (Read more)

5. Venezuela's Maduro accuses 'international Zionism' for protests after disputed vote - Israel Hayom
In a dramatic turn of events following Venezuela's recent presidential election, President Nicolás Maduro has leveled accusations against his opposition and foreign entities, claiming they are attempting to undermine his declared victory. This development comes as international observers and governments express serious doubts about the legitimacy of the electoral process.
According to reporting by The Washington Post, Venezuela's opposition has published election results that suggest Maduro lost his bid for another term by a significant margin. These unofficial tallies, based on more than 23,000 precinct-level tally sheets representing nearly 80 percent of voting machines nationwide, suggest that opposition candidate Edmundo González likely received more than twice as many votes as President Maduro. This conclusion aligns with independent exit polling and similar analyses conducted by other organizations.
Nevertheless, Venezuela's national electoral council declared Maduro the winner with nearly 52 percent of the vote compared to González's 43 percent. However, the council has yet to release precinct-level results to support this claim, a requirement under Venezuelan law. (Read more)

1. Appeals Court Rules Biden Must Finish the Border Wall - IFA
From the Office of the Missouri Attorney General. Today, Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey obtained a court order forcing the Biden Administration to use congressionally appropriated funds to construct a barrier along the southern border.
“The Biden Administration has failed to abide by the law to finish the construction of a wall along the southwest border,” said Attorney General Bailey. “Joe Biden refuses to carry out his constitutionally mandated responsibilities, so we took him to court to force him to do his job. This is a huge step forward in the fight to secure our border at a key moment in our nation’s history.”
In FY 2020, Congress passed a law explicitly requiring the President to construct barrier systems at the southern border to keep unauthorized individuals out of our country. The law provided $1.4 billion to build the border wall and explicitly stated the money “shall only be available for construction of barrier systems along the southwest border.” The Biden Administration refused to comply with Congress’ command. 2. Stage set for another election catastrophe in major swing state - WND
Georgia was one of the swing states in the 2020 presidential election where there were concerns
about massive fraud: Tens of thousands of probably illegal ballots.
Those concerns never were fully investigated.
And now a report in the Federalist is warning that because of that failure, the 2024 vote in
Georgia is setting up to be a catastrophe. The report explains there were charges that some 35,000 possibly illegal votes were counted that election. That was the election when Joe Biden was declared the winner by only 11,779 votes.
The issue is being pushed by Mark Davis, the president of Data Productions Inc. and an expert
in voter data analytics and residency issues, the Georgia secretary of state and the state election board seeking an investigation of some 25,794 possibly illegal votes subsequently cast in the 2022 midterms.
The issue is a state requirement that residents must vote in the county in which they reside unless
they have changed their residence within 30 days of the election. And now, with just four months until the November 2024 general election, the state's refusal to address the problem ensures chaos will ensue unless there is a complete blowout by one of the
candidates, the report explained. (Read more)

- We pray that Georgia would get their affairs in order to have a safe and fair election this November. We pray that officials will step up and correct any systems and processes that need to be fine-tuned to have a fair election with no fraud.

3. Trump Proposes Debate Against Harris on Fox News, She Declines - Epoch Times
Former President Donald Trump said he’s prepared to debate Vice President Kamala Harris on Sept. 4 on Fox News, but the vice president declined and insisted on the Sept. 10 debate on ABC, in line with the earlier debate arrangement with President Joe Biden.
Trump said in a post on social media on Aug. 3 that, since Biden has dropped out of the race, their arrangement for a Sept. 10 debate on ABC no longer holds. Instead, Trump proposed a Sept. 4 debate against Harris in Pennsylvania, hosted by Fox News.
Harris reacted to Trump’s message in a post on X, saying that she'll “be there on September 10th, like he agreed to. I hope to see him there.”
This prompted an ultimatum from Trump.
“I'll see her on September 4th or, I won’t see her at all,” he wrote in a follow-up post on Truth Social. In his latest Aug. 3 post, Trump explained that he’s in litigation against ABC and that holding a debate on that network would represent a “conflict of interest.”
The former president also proposed that the moderators of the Sept. 4 debate would be Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum, and the debate rules will be similar to those agreed to in the now defunct debate against Biden, “but with a full arena audience.” (Read more)

4. Biden approves Florida emergency declaration over Tropical Storm Debby - Fox News
President Biden approved an emergency declaration for Florida as Tropical Storm Debby barrels toward the Sunshine State, the White House confirmed Sunday. The president’s move helps free up federal resources and authorizes the Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Emergency Management Agency to coordinate all disaster relief efforts, the White House said. Debby was expected to become a hurricane as it moved through the Gulf of Mexico toward Florida, bringing with it the threat of devastating floods later in the week.
The flooding impacts, which could last through Friday, are expected to be especially severe in low-lying areas near the coast, including Savannah, Georgia, Hilton Head, South Carolina, and Charleston, South Carolina.
The hurricane center said in an update posted at 11 a.m. Sunday that Debby was located about 130 miles west-southwest of Tampa, Florida, and about 160 miles south-southwest of Cedar Key, Florida. The storm was moving north-northwest at 13 mph with maximum sustained winds of 65 mph, up from 50 mph just a few hours ago.
"I'd urge all Floridians to be cognizant of the fact that we are going to have a hurricane hit the state, probably a Category 1, but it could be a little bit more powerful than that," Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said in a Sunday morning briefing.
"But we are absolutely going to see a lot of rainfall. We are going to see a lot of saturation. We are going to see flooding events," he said. "There is also going to be power outages." (Read more)

5. Backing up Israel means building Iron Dome components in U.S. - WND
The benefits are numerous and clear:
Israel is racing to build more Iron Dome air defense systems amid a growing threat of war with Hezbollah, which has a massive stockpile of more than 150,000 mortars, rockets, and missiles.
Yet Iron Dome systems themselves and their manufacturing facilities within Israel may become targets for Hezbollah, which is why the United States and Israel need to build a full, redundant Iron Dome production and integration capacity in the United States.
Iron Dome is an air defense system designed to destroy incoming rockets, artillery, and mortars and can also intercept some unmanned aerial vehicles and cruise missiles, in certain conditions. The system has four primary components: the Tamir interceptor, a launcher, a radar, and a battle management and control system.
Suppliers based in the United States now help produce more than half of the parts for Iron Dome and a higher portion of parts for its interceptor. In addition to producing parts, nascent efforts are underway to eventually build the entire Tamir interceptor in the United States. That is an essential endeavor, but it is not sufficient. (Read more)

- We pray that Israel can get these much-needed Iron dome systems built speedily to aid in their protection from their enemies all around them. Give them the strength and the speed to get these built quickly.

6. Iran and Israel on the Brink of War - IFA
The Middle East stands at a a crossroads. For years, Iran has worked towards a clear objective, stating “the destruction of Israel is non-negotiable.” For the most part, however, Iran uses proxy groups strike Israel. Now, however, that may be about to change.
On July 31 at 2 a.m. local time, Chairman of the Hamas Political Bureau Ismail Haniyeh was assassinated in Iran’s capital. Although Israel has not taken responsibility for the attack, many were quick to blame the Jewish nation on account of its current war against Hamas in Gaza.
Iran immediately blamed Israel for the attack. Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei said as much publicly, claiming that Israel would receive a “severe punishment.” He also signaled that Iran would retaliate, stating, “We see avenging [Haniyeh’s] blood our duty.” Khamenei told Iran’s Supreme National Security Council in an emergency meeting just hours after Haniyeh’s death that the nation would “strike Israel directly.” (Read more)

The promises we make
The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, August 5, 2024
Anytime we promise to do or not do something, we are making a vow. It is important to follow through with it. For example, if parents don’t follow through on what they say they will do, children can get the idea that they can lie. When we don’t follow through on what we promise, it’s a reflection on our character. There was a time when someone could get a loan at the bank on his word and a handshake. His word was his bond. But nowadays there is not that level of trust. How many times have we found ourselves bargaining with God saying, if you only do this Lord, I will …. Our words have meaning and consequences. Society has become very casual about the words we use. Vow making, however, is a serious matter.
Numbers 30 begins with the discussion of vows to the LORD, and gives permission for a woman to be released from a vow by the authority of her husband or father. Numbers 30:2 says that whoever makes a vow “is not to break his word.” The Hebrew word for “break” comes from the root chalul, meaning to profane or make unholy. This is the same root used in the phrase chillul Hashem, which means to desecrate the Name of the LORD. Leviticus 22:32 says, “And you shall not profane (chillul) My holy name; but I will be sanctified among the children of Israel: I am the LORD who sanctifies you.” Deuteronomy 7:9 says, “From this you know that the LORD your God is indeed God, the faithful God, who keeps his covenant and extends grace to those who love him…” Read More

Did the 2017 eclipse contain a warning of a conflict involving Ukraine? What does that mean for the United States?
|
|
|
Note from Koenig News: In a 2022 article we released about the 2017 total solar eclipse, there was a note about the possibility of a military conflict involving Iran. This possibility seems to be coming to pass now, and we need to keep praying and interceding for Israel if there is any chance this can be averted or lessened. Also, even though we put out the article two years ago, the warning of the United States possibly being pulled into military conflict in the near future still stands. We need to be watching and praying over the next six months through the election and the end of this presidential term (and beyond) about the possible conflict in the South China Sea. We will likewise need to keep praying up to and into the next presidential term about the concern that NATO could possibly be drawn into the Russia-Ukraine conflict. This is especially a concern if conflict were to break out involving any NATO nations on the border with Russia such as Poland (on the Kaliningrad Oblast), Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, etc. At the same time, the prospect of a major economic collapse taking place in the US around or sometime after the election (whether late this year or early next year) is a real possibility and something else to prepare for and pray about.
|
|
Here are some excerpts from the article about the 2017 total solar eclipse as related to a pattern based on the 1914 total solar eclipse and the possibility of a Middle East conflict involving Iran:
"...The date of the 2017 eclipse seems to be a warning of military conflict and war. As mentioned, the eclipse occurred on August 21, 2017, corresponding to the new moon that indicates the beginning of the month of Elul. As a side note, the Hebrew calendar is a lunar calendar, so the Gregorian days and the Hebrew days vary slightly in how they match up from year to year. However, in 1914, there was an eclipse that matched the calendar days of the 2017 eclipse on both the Gregorian and the Hebrew calendars: the European solar eclipse of August 21, 1914. This eclipse was significant because it was connected to World War 1."
"Could God use the 2017 eclipse as a warning of potential military conflict and war similar to the pattern of the 1914 eclipse?"
"The pattern of military conflict and war based on the 1914 eclipse may have implications for conflict other than simply the situation with Russia and Ukraine. If you notice, the path of totality also drew a dividing line over the Middle East. Most significant about this seems to be the line drawn over Iran, starting near what today is the northwest part of the country and pass[ing] toward the southeast. ... Could the eclipse indicate military conflict involving Iran and possibly other Middle Eastern nations?"

Debby updates: 2024 hurricane season's first strike on Florida with Steinhatchee landfall
|
|
After raking the Florida peninsula, Category 1 Hurricane Debby made her final approach with a landfall near Taylor and Dixie counties in the eastern Big Bend.
Though last year's Hurricane Idalia was a Category 3, the similarities are eerie. Debby hit with 80 mph winds mere miles from where Idalia came ashore and at about the same time.
Like before, Florida's capital city appears to have dodged a bullet, leaving its eastern neighbors to bear the brunt of dangerous winds, life-threatening surge and untold amounts of rain.
However, forecasters warned that Tallahassee could still see tropical storm force gusts along with downed trees and power lines as Debby pushes through and brings expected "catastrophic rains to the southeast" before a second landfall.

The Olympians Praising God for Their Wins
|
|
While much controversy has surrounded around the opening ceremony of the Olympics, Christian athletes competing this year are praising God for all that He’s doing through them. Olympic swimmer Hunter Armstrong, who just took gold in the men’s 4 x 100-meter freestyle relay, told the Baptist Press that God will always be the greatest priority in his life. “As we grow, we have to make sure we have our priorities in line. I keep God as a priority. I can’t really live without him. I can live without swimming or being an Olympian or any of that stuff,” he told the outlet. Armstrong recognizes that God uses both the mountains and the valleys of our lives to bring about His plans and purposes. After experiencing a painful break-up with a woman he planned to marry and the death of his grandfather, Armstrong sees how it is God alone that we cannot live without. “The biggest catalyst for change in life tends to be pain,” he said. “Sometimes God will put you in a position where you have no other choice than to turn to Him.”
Brazilian skateboarder Rayssa Leal also used her bronze medal win to glorify the Lord. The Christian Post shared a tweet that featured the 16-year-old athlete who used sign language to reference John 14:6, that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. Hezly Rivera of the U.S. women’s gymnastics team also thanked God for her big win on Instagram. “Olympic gold medalist,” she wrote. “Couldn’t be more thankful and super proud of this team!” Rivera also referenced Isaiah 40:31 which reads, “But those who wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary, and they shall walk and not faint.” Brody Malone also took home the bronze with the U.S. men’s gymnastics team. He openly posts about Scripture on His Instagram with Psalm 115:1 referenced in his bio which reads, “Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto Your name give glory, for the sake of Your mercy, and for the sake of Your truth.” (Charisma News) Read more.
- Abba, we REJOICE for Olympic athletes lifting Your Name high and giving glory to You before the entire world! May their testimonies impact hearts and minds inspiring many to surrender their lives to Jesus Christ. We ask that these Christian athletes would shine Your light into the darkness, emanating a sweet fragrance for those being called into the Kingdom. We give You all the glory and ask that Your Will be done, on earth as it is in heaven! In Jesus Name-Amen and Amen.
- "But thanks be to God, who always leads us triumphantly as captives in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of Him. For we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing." (2 Corinthians 2:14-15)
