Florida Gov. DeSantis expands state of emergency as Hurricane Idalia expected to make landfall Wednesday

Idalia intensified to a Category 1 hurricane early Tuesday morning and is expected to strengthen before making landfall in Florida
|
|
A state of emergency in Florida is now in effect for 46 of its 67 counties as the state is preparing for Hurricane Idalia to make landfall over the state on Wednesday.
Idalia upgraded to a Category 1 hurricane early Tuesday morning as the storm passed Cuba, according to FOX Weather. It is expected to be become a major hurricane with "life-threatening" storm surge when it makes landfall on Florida's western coast Wednesday morning.
As of Tuesday morning, Hurricane Idalia was located about 85 miles north of the western tip of Cuba and about 370 miles to the south-southwest of Tampa, FOX weather reported. Hurricane Idalia has maximum sustained winds of 75 mph with higher gusts, and it's moving to the north at 14 mph.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis held a press conference with state officials Tuesday morning.
"The storm is forecast to make landfall along Florida's Big Bend tomorrow morning as a major hurricane. The National Hurricane Center has issued a hurricane warning for the Gulf Coast from Sarasota County up through Franklin County in the Panhandle," DeSantis said. (Fox News) Read more here.

Jordan, GOP Demand Clarity and Documents in Hunter Biden Probe After Special Counsel Appointment

House Republicans have called on the Department of Justice (DOJ) to clarify the scope of the investigations involving Hunter Biden and provide relevant documents in the wake of David Weiss being designated as special counsel.
Earlier this month, Mr. Weiss, who serves as the U.S. Attorney for Delaware, was appointed as special counsel after a plea agreement in the Hunter Biden case fell apart due to judicial scrutiny.
In a letter dated Aug. 28, GOP Reps. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), Jason Smith (R-Miss.), and James Comer (R-Ky.) expressed concerns and posed questions about the DOJ's handling of the Hunter Biden investigation to U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland. (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

Trump Vows to Appeal March 4 Trial Date for
Federal Elections Case

WASHINGTON—Federal Judge Tanya Chutkan has set the trial date for the case dealing with former President Donald Trump’s efforts to challenge the 2020 election results for March 4, 2024.
She declared that both trial dates offered by the former president's lawyers and special counsel Jack Smith were unacceptable, though her decision put the date just two months beyond what Mr. Smith proposed and more than two years ahead of what the defense wanted.
She said she took into account other trials that President Trump is facing, but wouldn’t consider his personal or professional circumstances, i.e., the campaign schedule of his 2024 presidential run.
President Trump later blasted the decision as "election interference" in a statement, vowing to bring up the issue with the D.C. Circuit Appeals Court.
"Today a biased, Trump Hating Judge gave me only a two month extension, just what our corrupt government wanted, SUPER TUESDAY. I will APPEAL!" he wrote on his Truth Social platform.
Some legal experts, however, have expressed doubt that trial dates can be appealed.
“To the best of my knowledge, trial dates are not appealable. I have never seen it happen in federal or state court. If they could wrap it around some other type of unfairness, perhaps a judge would entertain it, but I doubt it,” attorney Mike Allen, a political analyst and former prosecutor in Ohio, told The Epoch Times. 1. Lapid to meet US officials in DC as Netanyahu visit still up in the air - JNS
Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid of the Yesh Atid Party will travel to the United States next week for high-level meetings in Washington, his office said on Tuesday.
Lapid is to meet with senior officials at the White House and the State Department as well as members of Congress.
During the meetings, U.S. officials intend to bring up the normalization process with Saudi Arabia. Riyadh has requested American help for a Saudi civilian nuclear program in exchange for ties with Israel, a demand that Lapid has publicly opposed.
“I am very much in favor of a normalization agreement with Saudi Arabia,” he said during a TV interview earlier this month, before adding, “But not at the expense of uranium enrichment that would endanger Israel’s security.” (Read more)

The Palestinian Authority is laying the groundwork for another major diplomatic assault on Israel on the backdrop of the United Nations General Assembly’s annual debate next month.
Speaking to the Palestinian Authority’s Voice of Palestine radio station on Sunday, Omar Awadallah, the head of the U.N. department in the P.A. Foreign Ministry, said that U.N. Secretary-General António Guterres is expected to travel to Ramallah after the UNGA meetings, while International Criminal Court Chief Prosecutor Karim Ahmad Khan is scheduled to visit in October.
Neither Guterres’s nor Khan’s office could confirm the plans to JNS, with the ICC stating that “this information is not accurate.” However, both officials have recently indicated their wish to visit P.A.-controlled areas in Judea and Samaria. (Read more)

3. Terrorists open fire at IDF post near Ya'bad - Israel National News
The IDF reported that a short while ago, assailants fired shots at a military post adjacent to the town of Ya'bad. No injuries were reported and hits were identified on the post.
The soldiers who were operating at the post responded with live fire. IDF soldiers are pursuing the assailants.
On Monday morning, terrorists opened fire at a military post near Mevo Dotan in Samaria and threw explosive devices at the outpost. (Read more)

Participants in the online contest use pseudonyms instead of their real names and the winners are expected to be announced on Sunday. 1. GOP Rep Steve Scalise announces serious health diagnosis - DML News
House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, a Republican from Louisiana, announced in a social media post Tuesday morning that he has been diagnosed with a rare, but treatable blood cancer.
This comes after Scalise was nearly killed during a shooting at a congressional baseball game practice in 2017, which took years to recover from.
After a few days of not feeling like myself this past week, I had some blood work done. The results uncovered some irregularities and after undergoing additional tests, I was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, a very treatable blood cancer.
I have now begun treatment, which will continue for the next several months. I expect to work through this period and intend to return to Washington, continuing my work as Majority Leader and serving the people of Louisiana’s First Congressional District. (Read more)

2. Biden’s FBI scrambling to find illegal aliens who entered US with help of ISIS-linked smuggler - DML News
The FBI is reportedly scrambling to find more than a dozen Uzbek nationals who sought asylum in the US earlier this year after intelligence officers discovered they traveled to the southern border with the help of a smuggler who has ties to ISIS.
Officials are working to “identify and assess” all of the individuals who gained entry into the country, National Security Council spokesman Adrienne Watson told CNN.
They are also scrutinizing a number of migrants as possible criminal threats, two unnamed federal officials told the news network. But authorities say no specific ISIS plot has been identified. The National Archives (NARA) possesses about 5,400 emails and records linked to President Joe Biden’s email aliases, the House Oversight Committee revealed Monday evening.
The email aliases — “Robert Peters,” “Robin Ware,” and “JRB Ware” — were used to share government information and discuss business with Hunter Biden and associates, according to the Southeastern Legal Foundation, which filed a lawsuit to compel the agency to turn over the emails.
“All too often, public officials abuse their power by using it for their personal or political benefit. When they do, many seek to hide it,” Southeastern Legal Foundation general counsel Kimberly Hermann told Just the News in a statement. “The only way to preserve governmental integrity is for NARA to release Biden’s nearly 5,400 emails to SLF and thus the public. Amidst harsh criticism of the Biden administration and Hawaii government officials for their response to the devastating and deadly Maui fires, the Hungarian government has reportedly stepped up to provide shelter for 250 Maui families.
There had been ample warning of the serious risk of wildfires and millions of dollars available to spend on preparing for them. Nonetheless, when fire raged through Lahaina this month, water was not initially released to fight it, government negligence had exacerbated the flammable nature of the area, people were blocked from escaping, and the exact death toll is unknown as hundreds of people are still missing, including many children.
The Biden administration was slammed for its apparent initial indifference before Biden’s eventual gaffe-filled and out-of-touch visit. Local officials have also faced angry criticism. The judge assigned to former President Trump’s multiple indictments stemming from his efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election is the scion of a family of revolutionary Marxists in her native Jamaica.
Judge Tanya S. Chutkan, an Obama appointee, is the granddaughter of Frank Hill, a Jamaican communist revolutionary, who along with his brother Ken were briefly jailed by the island’s British governor during World War II over suspicions of “subversive activities.”
Hill is the father of Noelle Hill, Judge Chutkan’s mother, public records show.
Frank, along with his brother Ken Hill, and fellow comrades Richard Hart and Arthur Henry, were expelled from the People’s National Party of Jamaica for espousing communist views, according to local Jamaican media. (Read more)

A coalition of 1,609 scientists from around the world have signed a declaration stating “there is no climate emergency” and that they “strongly oppose the harmful and unrealistic net-zero CO2 policy” being pushed across the globe. The declaration does not deny the harmful effect of greenhouse gasses, but instead challenges the hysteria brought about by the narrative of imminent doom.
The declaration, put together by the Global Climate Intelligence Group (CLINTEL), was made public this month and urges that “Climate science should be less political, while climate policies should be more scientific.”

Russian authorities confirmed on Sunday that Wagner Group boss Yevgeny Prigozhin was killed in a plane crash last week in an explosion widely seen as a long-expected retaliation for the businessman's failed mutiny. Pope Francis has blasted the “backwardness” of some conservatives in the U.S. Catholic Church, saying they have replaced faith with ideology and that a correct understanding of Catholic doctrine allows for change over time.
Francis’ comments were an acknowledgment of the divisions in the U.S. Catholic Church, which has been split between progressives and conservatives who long found support in the doctrinaire papacies of St. John Paul II and Benedict XVI, particularly on issues of abortion and same-sex marriage.

Already, the minions of global control are making their move. Morris Brown College in Georgia has mandated mask wearing for at least the next two weeks. Other basic rights such as a ban on large gatherings and parties, contact tracing, temperature checks and isolation/quarantine mandates also have been imposed. Lionsgate, a $3.6 billion entertainment giant with over 3,500 employees, also issued a mask mandate along with required daily screening, and contact tracing. Rutgers University is also mandating masks. In addition, students who did not take the mRNA serum are not allowed to attend classes unless they have a medical or religious exemption. In fact, the web tracker NoCollegeMandates has documented that some 60 colleges and universities have COVID mandates in effect. Former President Donald Trump and others indicted in Fulton County, Georgia, on charges related to efforts to overturn the 2020 election will appear for arraignment before the Fulton County Superior Court on Sept. 6.
President Trump will be the first to appear at the court at 9:30 a.m., with arraignments of 18 co-defendants in the case following every 15 minutes, with a noon to 1 p.m. break for lunch.
The defendants have been charged under the state Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, classified as a serious felony in the state, along with a laundry list of other charges in a controversial case led by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis. Ms. Willis has alleged that the defendants in the case sought to use illegal means to overturn the 2020 election in the state.
Others charged in the case include several of President Trump's allies, including former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, attorney John Eastman, attorney Sidney Powell, former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, attorney Kenneth Chesebro, former DOJ official Jeffrey Clark, and others. Two weeks before the 2020 election, a woman dropped off more than 10,000 voter registration forms with a city clerk in Muskegon, Michigan.
The number of forms was a red flag for the city clerk, Ann Meisch. Less than 4,000 of the city's voting-age residents weren't registered to vote.
Ms. Meisch called the police, triggering an investigation by the Michigan State Police. An Oct. 26, 2020, police report from that probe recently surfaced after Michigan state lawmakers obtained it through a Freedom of Information request.
At the time, Brianna Hawkins, the woman who delivered the forms, was employed by GBI Strategies, an out-of-state firm working to boost Democrat voter turnout in urban centers in key swing states to help then-candidate Joe Biden defeat President Donald Trump. According to the police report, when questioned by Muskegon Police Department investigators, Ms. Hawkins said her job was to register voters and help them obtain absentee ballots.

Sepsis is a life-threatening condition caused by the body’s extreme response to infection. It requires urgent medical care to ensure that the affected person doesn’t suffer organ or tissue damage, or die. At least 1.7 million adults in the United States develop sepsis in a typical year, and at least 270,000 of those patients die during hospitalization, according to the CDC.
The CDC recently launched its Hospital Sepsis Program Core Elements initiative to ensure that U.S. hospitals have the necessary resources and personnel to deal with sepsis cases.
“This new, critical resource is intended to help hospitals implement, monitor, and optimize sepsis programs and improve survival rates,” the agency said in an Aug. 24 statement.
“CDC’s latest survey of 5,221 hospitals found 73 percent report having sepsis teams, but only half (55 percent) report that team leaders are provided with dedicated time to manage sepsis programs.”
Almost any infection, including COVID-19, RSV, and influenza, can lead to sepsis. The agency pointed out that 87 percent of adult sepsis patients are brought to hospitals with an infection that isn’t getting better. (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

Ancient Roman walls discovered in Swiss Alps
are an 'archaeological sensation'

Archaeologists have unearthed ancient Roman walls in the foothills of the Swiss Alps.
Archaeologists in Switzerland have discovered the remains of 2,000-year-old Roman walls in the foothills of the Alps.
The walls, which once protected a Roman building complex, were found during the excavation of a gravel pit in Cham in the canton, or state, of Zug in central Switzerland. So far, archaeologists have also unearthed pieces from a plaster wall; iron nails; gold fragments, possibly from jewelry; and items such as bowls, millstones for grinding, glassware, crockery and ceramic jugs known as amphorae.
The findings are an "archaeological sensation" for the region and could shed light on Roman activity in central Switzerland, officials with the Office for the Preservation of Monuments and Archeology said in a translated statement.
"Roman buildings of similar dimensions were last excavated in Cham-Heiligkreuz almost 100 years ago," Gishan Schaeren, head of the Department of Prehistory and Protohistoric Archaeology, said in the statement. "We were also amazed that the top bricks were even visible above ground." Read More

From Broken and Hopeless to On-Fire Revivalist

Revivalist Ross Johnston is sharing the gospel with the masses through his movement, California Will Be Saved. In Huntington Beach alone, Johnston saw the masses hear and respond to the gospel. "I want to share with you the only message in all of mankind's history that speaks of death but brings life," Johnston said. Johnston shared the message of who Christ is to people of all ages and backgrounds in Huntington Beach. Souls were saved and the ministry team prayed over those who had just given their lives to Jesus where bondages and chains were broken.
Part of the convicting message that transformed so many lives came from Johnston's own personal story. Becoming a Christian was what radically shifted and changed the trajectory of his life. "I was born by artificial insemination. I grew up in a lesbian household with two moms," Johnston said. "Had never been to church my whole life, never heard a worship song in an atmosphere like tonight. [At] 15 years old, the presence of God meets me in my room, I go to church and I hear the preacher say 'You have to give your life to Jesus.'" After this, Johnston implored the Lord to see if Jesus was the One he was looking for. He didn't want something that would leave him broken and without hope for the future. "I remember going home saying, 'Jesus, if you're real, what that preacher is saying is real, I don't want to just read a good book, go to a good church and be a good person. God, I have to know you,'" Johnston said. Johnston said that God's presence tangibly came back into his life time after time, which led him to realize that if Jesus was truly the Messiah, he had to live according to His Word and His ways.
