Israel strikes Hezbollah in Lebanon, preempting ‘extensive attack’
100 Israeli jets destroy thousands of Hezbollah missiles, drones in strikes on 40 sites in Southern Lebanon • Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant updated U.S. counterpart Lloyd Austin on strikes • Hezbollah claims to have hit "high-quality" military targets.

The Israel Defense Forces launched a preemptive strike on Hezbollah targets in Southern Lebanon early on Sunday, after detecting preparations on the Iranian proxy’s part to launch an “extensive” attack.

Approximately 100 Israeli warplanes launched simultaneous strikes on some 40 Hezbollah targets, destroying over 6,000 missiles and drones, according to the IDF.

The strike targeted missile launchers that had been programmed to fire at 5 a.m. at multiple targets in Israel, including targets in the Tel Aviv area, The New York Times reported, citing a Western intelligence official. “All the launchers that were targeted were destroyed and Israel [anticipates] a harsh response from Hezbollah,” the official said.

Since joining the war in support of Hamas on Oct. 8, Hezbollah has launched more than 6,700 rockets, missiles and armed drones at the Jewish state, leading to the evacuation of tens of thousands from northern Israel. (JNS.org) Read more

- Holy One of Israel, we bless You for giving such valuable intelligence to the IDF so they could neutralize this attack before it was released onto Israel.  We pray for Your divine interference over every future attempt for retaliation or revenge, which we bind in Jesus name. We ask You to cover and shield Your beloved Israel, while also turning the other nations from doing evil and causing them to know the better way, for Your glory. Amen.

- "But Jeremiah said 'They shall not deliver you.  Please, obey the voice of the Lord which I speak to you.  So it shall be well with you, and your soul shall live.'"  (Jeremiah 38:20)

Is mpox the next COVID? Infectious disease experts address pandemic potential

As mpox (formerly monkeypox) has been declared a global public health emergency, some are wondering whether the virus poses the risk of a COVID-like pandemic.

The World Health Organization (WHO) officially declared the mpox outbreak a "public health emergency of international concern" on Aug. 14, based on a surge of cases in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and multiple African countries.

As of Aug. 17, there were 545 reports of mpox cases since the outbreak was declared, 474 of which were confirmed, according to data from WHO.

Symptoms include a sometimes painful rash on various parts of the body, fever, chills, exhaustion, muscle aches, headache, swollen lymph nodes and respiratory symptoms, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). (Fox News) Read more here.

- Mighty God, we declare that this mpox will be properly dealt with, in Jesus name. It is clear that there is very little opportunity for it to spread wildly, but we declare it shall continue to be contained where the outbreak is located.  We pray for the resources to be provided to these very poorest countries in Africa who have virtually no medical care to speak of, so the virus cannot continue to spread there.  We bind and rebuke all fear, opportunity for tyranny and destruction from this virus, in Jesus name and we ask for wisdom to be upon all who would provide resources to those who are affected, in Jesus name.

- "Hear this all peoples; Give ear, all inhabitants of the world, Both low and high, Rich and poor together.  My mouth shall speak wisdom, And the meditation of my heart shall give understanding."  (Psalm 49:1-3)

RFK Jr defends ‘MAGA,’ teases more to join Trump ‘unity government’
RFK says Trump's unity government will be expanding soon

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. defended the "MAGA" movement and teased more additions to the "unity government" he looks to join under former President Trump on Sunday.

Kennedy offered his own definition of MAGA in a post on X, arguing Democrats have misinterpreted the movement as regressive. The former presidential candidate dropped out and endorsed Trump on Friday in a major shake-up to the race.

"'Make America Great Again' recalls a nation brimming with vitality, with a can-do spirit, with hope and a belief in itself. It was an America that was beginning to confront its darker shadows, could acknowledge the injustice in its past and present, yet at the same time could celebrate its successes," Kennedy wrote.

"It was a nation of broad prosperity, the world's most vibrant middle class, and a [sic] idealistic belief (though not consistently applied) in freedom, justice, and democracy. It was a nation that led the world in innovation, productivity, and technology. And it was the healthiest country in the world. I have talked to many Trump supporters. I have talked with his inner circle. I have talked to the man himself. This is the America they want to restore," he continued. (Fox News) Read more here,

- Precious Savior, we thank You for allowing RFK, Jr. and President Trump to join forces so that God-willing, the best in each man will be a strength and encouragement to the people of this nation who remember the good and hopefulness of our recent past.  We plead the blood of Jesus over these two men for safety and protection, especially since the Secret Service has been removed from Kennedy.  We praise You Father, for what You will accomplish in and through this "unity" party and we pray for a clean election victory, in Jesus name.

- "And I looked, and arose and said to the nobles, to the leaders, and to the rest of the people. 'Do not be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, great and awesome, and fight for your brethren, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your houses.'"  (Nehemiah 4:14)

FOCUS ON ISRAEL

1. Israeli envoy to Security Council: Hezbollah, Iran responsible for hostilities - JNS

Following the IAF’s preemptive Sunday strike on thousands of Hezbollah rocket launchers, Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations wrote to the Security Council to “make it clear: The state of Lebanon and the Hezbollah terrorist organization, which is operating under the guidance of Iran, bear responsibility for the deterioration of the situation in the northern front.”

Guided by intelligence information showing the markings of a major imminent Hezbollah attack, the Israeli Air Force carried out its strikes in self-defense, following almost 11 months of bombardment by Hezbollah that included some 7,500 rockets and missiles and 200 explosive drones, which have displaced residents of much of northern Israel.

Ambassador Danny Danon wrote that Hezbollah’s planned attack over the weekend “unequivocally demonstrates the presence of illegal weapons in Southern Lebanon” in contravention of U.N. Security Council Resolution 1701, which called for, among other things, the disarming and disbandment of all non-state military actors in the Land of the Cedars following the 2006 Second Lebanon War. 2. Cairo negotiations break down as Israel, Hamas fail to reach compromise - World Israel News

The latest round of hostage negotiations ended without results as the Israeli delegation led by Mossad chief David Barnea returned home from Cairo on Sunday.

Off-and-on negotiations have continued for months with the United States, Egypt and Qatar acting as mediators.

Ground down militarily in 10 months of hostilities, Hamas dropped a key demand in early July that any deal contain an Israeli guarantee of a permanent ceasefire.

However, it still insists that Israel withdraw its forces from two key corridors in Gaza.

Israel, for its part, demands an ongoing Israel Defense Forces presence along the Philadelphi Corridor between Israel and Egypt. (Read more)

3. Five terrorists eliminated in Tulkarm - Israel National News

The IDF on Monday evening struck an operations room in Tulkarm, eliminating five terrorists from the air, including a terrorist who was released this past November as part of the hostage release deal.

Palestinian Arab media reported that a higher number of terrorists were eliminated, with some reports claiming that the IDF eliminated eight terrorists.

Late last week, IDF, Border Police, and the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) completed a 14-hour counterterrorism operation in the Tulkarm area. (Read more)

4. UN calls on Israel to immediately lift discriminatory restrictions on Palestinians in Hebron -Jerusalem Post

The UN Human Rights Office in the Occupied Palestinian Territory called on Israel to immediately lift discriminatory movement restrictions and ensure Palestinians’ access to basic services in the H2 area of Hebron on Monday.

Throughout the Israel-Hamas war, Israel has enacted movement restrictions on around 33,000 Palestinian residents of H2 in Hebron, while the 700 Israeli residents of the city are exempt, the office stated.

According to the UN, these restrictions appear designed to force Palestinians to leave, as they are denied effective access to water, food, and health services. (Read more)

5. Antisemitic Incidents in France Up 200% This Year, Interior Minister Warns After Attempted Synagogue Arson - Algemeiner

There has been a “very significant increase” in antisemitic acts in Francethis year, according to outgoing French Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin, who on Sunday warned incidents targeting the country’s Jewish community spiked by about 200 percent since Jan. 1.

Darmanin revealed the troubling surge in antisemitism one day after French police arrested a 33-year-old Algerian man suspected of trying to set a synagogue ablaze in the southern French city of la Grande-Motte.

The attacker had set fire to several entry doors to the synagogue and cars nearby. One of the cars contained a gas canister that exploded, injuring a policeman who was securing the site. The rabbi and his family were inside the synagogue at the time of the attack but were unharmed.

“Deliberately setting fire to a synagogue where the rabbi and his family live while waiting with an axe … is an antisemitic act, and it must be denounced as such,” Darmanin said of the incident on French television, according to Euronews. (Read more)

For there the Lord commanded the blessing—
Life forevermore. (Psalm 133:1,2)

4. Globalism Vs. Elon Musk: World Bank Halts Advertising on X After Establishment Media Hit Piece - Breitbart

The World Bank has halted all paid advertising on Elon Musk’s X after CBS News accused the social media platform of promoting ads under racist content.

An advertisement for the World Bank appeared in the comment section of a verified X account with more than 115,000 followers that posted “a racist image alongside a post praising Europe’s colonization of Africa,” according to a report by CBS News.

“The World Bank Group had already reduced its paid marketing on X while working with the platform to implement the strongest safety protocols X offers for our content,” a World Bank spokesperson told CBS News. “This latest incident is entirely unacceptable, and we are immediately ceasing all paid marketing on X,” the spokesperson added. (Read more)

5.  Trump hits back at Obamas: ‘Do I still have to stick to policy?’ - The Hill

Former President Trump on Wednesday mocked allies who suggested he should not engage in personal attacks, pointing to fiery speeches a night earlier from former President Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama at the Democratic convention.

“Did you see Barack Hussein Obama last night? He was taking shots at your president. And so was Michelle,” Trump told supporters at a North Carolina rally.

“You know, they always say, ‘Sir, please stick to policy, don’t get personal,’” Trump continued. “And yet they’re getting personal all night long, these people. Do I still have to stick to policy?”

Trump then imitated allies who have urged him not to engage in personal insults.

“Sir, you must stick to policy. You’ll win it on the border. You’ll win it with inflation. You’ll win it with your great military that you built,” Trump said. (Read more)

- Lord, we ask that You guide Trump in his responses to people criticizing him. Give him a strategy on how to win and when to speak and when to hold back.

6. Unlikely US state is rattled by three earthquakes in as many days - Daily Mail

New Jersey reported three earthquakes within just three days, sparking concerns about what could have caused the spate of quakes.

The 1.0 to 1.4-magnitude tremors are believed to be an aftershock from a larger earthquake that hit around 10:23 a.m. EST on August 16.

All three earthquakes have stemmed from the town of Califon in northern New Jersey, which unleashed the 4.8 magnitude quake last week. (Read more)

The Daily Jot

The Command to Love

The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, August 26, 2024

People talk and sing about love all the time. Love, however, is elusive for many. We live in a world where a love song is often more appropriately titled a lust song. The sarcasm and so-called comedy is often the very opposite of love. The examples that we see in the media defile love. There is certainly no love in the news or in politics. How many times a day does the news cover some politician “fighting” for some cause, but not demonstrating any love for the people he/she champions. It’s really easy in this current environment to get all wrapped up around the axels of division, criticism, distrust, and even hate than to remember the commandment to love one another as yourself.

We hear all the time that the Old Testament is about God’s wrath and the New Testament is about God’s love. But God’s love is demonstrated throughout the Bible and should serve as a constant reminder to us that love is the basis of our faith walk. Deuteronomy 7:13, says of God, ”He will love you, bless you and increase your numbers…” Love is the overriding theme throughout the book of Deuteronomy. The Hebrew root for love, a-h-v (ahavah), and appears more than any other book of the Torah (23 times). The LORD calls the people to fear, love, and serve Him, ”with all your heart and all your being…” a repeat of the Shema (Deuteronomy 6:4), the most central thought of all God’s people. Read More

1. Las Vegas Officials Forced to Probe into Voters Registered at Strip Clubs, Casinos, Gas Stations Ahead of Election - Breitbart

Election officials in Clark County, Nevada, which encompasses Las Vegas, have been forced to investigate residents registered to vote at strip clubs, casinos, gas stations, and other commercial business addresses.

The Public Interest Legal Foundation (PILF) discovered that many residents in Clark County had listed commercial businesses as their addresses on their voter registrations. The issue is significant in Nevada because the election officials mail out ballots to all registered voters in the state.

Among the seemingly faulty voter registrations listed by PILF lawyers are those where registrants listed Larry Flynt’s Hustler Club, a 7-Eleven, a Nevada-based gas station, Chavelo’s Mexican Bar and Grill, Harry Reid International Airport, and a Mini Mart and Smoke Shop, among others, as their primary addresses. 2. Josh Hawley Grills DHS Chief Mayorkas Over ‘Catastrophic Failures’ to Protect Migrant Kids from Labor Trafficking - Beitbart

Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) is grilling Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas over what he calls “catastrophic failures” by President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris to protect hundreds of thousands of migrant children, released into the United States, from labor trafficking.

“Unaccompanied migrant children are some of the most vulnerable individuals in America,” Hawley writes in a letter to Mayorkas. “They are routinely trafficked for sex, forced into illegal labor, burned with chemicals, and subjected to countless other atrocities by cartels.”

Last week, as Breitbart News reported, the DHS Inspector General (IG) revealed that Biden and Harris’s agencies have released more than 365,000 Unaccompanied Alien Children (UACs) into the U.S. interior from Fiscal Year 2021 through Fiscal Year 2023.
Hundreds of thousands of those UACs, the IG report suggests, are at risk of “trafficking, exploitation, or forced labor” because DHS and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) have failed to keep in touch with them once they are placed with adult sponsors — the majority of whom are not their biological parents — in the United States.

“Your policies are wholly exacerbating … [the] trafficking risk to migrant children,” Hawley writes to Mayorkas. “… not only did your agency lose track of these children, it didn’t even bother to tell anyone. That is unconscionable.” (Read more)

3. Schweizer: ‘No Question’ CCP Has Been Grooming Tim Walz - Breitbart

On this week’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “Sunday Morning Futures,” Government Accountability Institute president Peter Schweizer, a Breitbart News senior contributor and the author of “Blood Money: Why the Powerful Turn a Blind Eye While China Kills Americans,” said 2024 Democratic vice presidential candidate Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN) had been groomed by the Chinese Communist Party.

Host Maria Bartiromo said, “Your reaction to what we’ve heard from Tim Walz, he’s praised Chinese communism as a system where everyone is the same and everyone shares. Do you believe that the Communist Party has been grooming Tim Walz?

Schweizer said, “Oh, I think there’s no question about it, Maria. . . (Read more)

4. Senate Candidate Royce White: Tim Walz a ‘Communist’ Who Has Not Helped Minnesotans - Breitbart

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D), Vice President Kamala Harris’s choice for a running mate, is a “communist” who has not helped the people of his state, populist conservative, ex-NBA player, and Senate candidate Royce White said during a Monday appearance on Breitbart News Daily.

“You know, Tim Walz is a communist to boot, you know, talk about the radical-left policy, and then him saying things like, free speech isn’t guaranteed. I don’t think it gets any more radical than that, actually,” White began, noting that it goes far beyond the words that come out of Walz’s mouth. (Read more)

NASA Decides to Bring Starliner Spacecraft Back to Earth Without Crew

NASA will return Boeing’s Starliner to Earth without astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams aboard the spacecraft, the agency announced Saturday. The uncrewed return allows NASA and Boeing to continue gathering testing data on Starliner during its upcoming flight home, while also not accepting more risk than necessary for its crew.

Wilmore and Williams, who flew to the International Space Station in June aboard NASA’s Boeing Crew Flight Test, have been busy supporting station research, maintenance, and Starliner system testing and data analysis, among other activities.

“Spaceflight is risky, even at its safest and most routine. A test flight, by nature, is neither safe, nor routine. The decision to keep Butch and Suni aboard the International Space Station and bring Boeing’s Starliner home uncrewed is the result of our commitment to safety: our core value and our North Star,” said NASA Administrator Bill Nelson. “I’m grateful to both the NASA and Boeing teams for all their incredible and detailed work.”

Wilmore and Williams will continue their work formally as part of the Expedition 71/72 crew through February 2025. They will fly home aboard a Dragon spacecraft with two other crew members assigned to the agency’s SpaceX Crew-9 mission. Starliner is expected to depart from the space station and make a safe, controlled autonomous re-entry and landing in early September. Read More

Court Rules in Favor of Christian Teacher Forced to Use Trans Pronouns

A federal court ruled last week that an Ohio school district violated the First Amendment rights of a Christian teacher, which experts are hailing as a victory for free speech and religious liberty. Hired as a full-time English teacher at the end of the 2021 academic school year, Vivian Geraghty had resigned from her position in 2022 after being told to use a student's "preferred pronouns." The argument she gave in her lawsuit was that the use of pronouns that didn't reflect the child's biological sex "would force her to embrace the concept of gender identity against her religious belief that God created two unchanging sexes, male and female."

According to district court Judge Pamela Barker, the Jackson Local School District "compelled Geraghty to use the students' preferred names and pronouns." In doing so, they forced the teacher "to utter what was not in her mind about a question of political and religious significance." Sarah Parshall Perry, senior legal fellow in the Edwin Meese III Center for Legal and Judicial Studies at The Heritage Foundation, posted on X that the court's decision is "'good news for freedom of belief.' Schools cannot force teachers, administrators, or students to use 'preferred pronouns' when doing so would violate their beliefs—religious or otherwise," she added. "Gender identity makes a rotten foundation for case law. More victories like this one are certain to come." Thomas Jipping, also at The Heritage Foundation, further noted that this is "further evidence that ... these gender policies are NOT related to curriculum or administration where schools receive deference. These are ideological policies schools are choosing to impose on kids and families." Read More Here.

- Abba, we shout a HALLELUJAH for favorable Court ruling towards Christian beliefs! Bless Judge Barker for supporting religious rights and pour favor upon teacher, Vivian Geraghty, for speaking out against forced gender ideologies in her classroom. We ask that You would strengthen and empower all Christian teachers across our nation, to reject using 'preferred pronouns" in classrooms and speak-out against hiding student mental confusion from parents. In the Name of Jesus, we decree and declare Your RESCUE for the next generations, a united stance among Christian teachers speaking against gender ideologies in our school boards and classrooms and a return to life-giving values back into America's classrooms! By the mighty power of Jesus Christ-Amen.
