Trump Confirms Thursday Surrender in Georgia Case Over 2020 Election
|
|
Former President Donald Trump confirmed on Monday that he will be surrendering to authorities at Fulton County Jail in Georgia on Thursday, Aug. 24, over the charges he faces for contesting the state’s 2020 election result.
“Can you believe it? I’ll be going to Atlanta, Georgia, on Thursday to be ARRESTED by a Radical Left District Attorney, Fani Willis, who is overseeing one of the greatest Murder and Violent Crime DISASTERS in American History,” he wrote on Truth Social.
“In my case, the trip to Atlanta is not for ‘Murder,’ but for making a PERFECT PHONE CALL! She campaigned, and is continuing to campaign, and raise money, on this WITCH HUNT. This is in strict coordination with Crooked Joe Biden’s DOJ. It is all about ELECTION INTERFERENCE!”
Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis had brought charges against President Trump and 18 co-defendants, all of whom were charged under Georgia’s Racketeer-Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act. In all, the 98-page indictment included 161 acts of racketeering and 41 total charges. President Trump was charged on 13 counts.
Bond Set at $200,000
Also on Monday, Judge Scott McAfee began setting bond and release conditions for the defendants. According to newly posted court records (pdf), President Trump has agreed to have his bond set at $200,000. (Epoch Times) Read more here.

- Lord God we are grieved to see injustice so rampant in our country and in our government. We pray for President Trump, and all of the people around him, Lord that you encourage them, give them supernatural, strength and energy, and wisdom to handle these trials. We give our nation to you, God, we give these problems to you, and we just ask for a miracle. We choose to declare in faith that this country is not lost, it belongs to you, and it shall be saved in Jesus name!
“Now I know that the Lord saves His anointed;
He will answer him from His holy heaven
With the saving strength of His right hand.”

Gov. Youngkin fires back at school district defying policy on gender identity: 'Parents are in charge'
|
|
The Virginia Department of Education updated its policies on gender identity
|
|
Gov. Glenn Youngkin, R-Va., responded to a school district announcing it wouldn't use the new model policies set by Virginia’s Education Department (VDOE), saying it is the law and the district "doesn’t have a choice" in the matter.
Prince William County Public Schools (PWCS) released a statement last week stating that it would stick with an older policy that addresses the "rights of transgender and gender-nonconforming students" because it is "consistent with both federal and state anti-discrimination laws."
The VDOE’s 2021 model policies for school districts allowed transgender students to use bathrooms and school facilities that matched their gender identity as well as required teachers to use students’ preferred gender pronouns, according to the Washington Post.
The updated 2023 model policies would require students to use school bathrooms, locker rooms and other facilities that match their sex assigned at birth. It would also prohibit teachers from referring to a student by a different name or pronoun unless the student’s parents have been notified and the parents request the change in writing.
"The law is very clear that I issue model policies and local school districts have to adopt policies consistent with the model policies. And I would add to the fact that this is common sense," Youngkin said Monday on "The Story." (Fox News) Read more here,

- Lord God, we thank you so much for this governor who is standing up for parents' rights to be able to make their own decisions as they raise their own children. We come against the plot and the evil plan to separate children from their parents and destroy the God-given family unit right now in Jesus name! We plead the blood of Jesus over every family and child being bombarded with these difficulties, and we ask that You would help them through these challenges, Lord God, in Jesus name, amen.

Japan to release Fukushima water
into ocean from Aug. 24
|
|
TOKYO, Aug 22 (Reuters) - Japan said on Tuesday it will start releasing into the sea more than 1 million metric tons of treated radioactive water from the wrecked Fukushima nuclear power plant on Aug. 24, going ahead with a plan heavily criticised by China.
The plan, approved two years ago by the Japanese government as crucial to decommissioning the plant operated by Tokyo Electric Power Company (Tepco) (9501.T), has also faced criticism from local fishing groups fearing reputational damage.
"I expect the water release to start on August 24, weather conditions permitting," Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said.
The announcement comes a day after the government said it had won "a degree of understanding" from the fishing industry over the release of the water into the Pacific Ocean, even as fishing groups said they still feared the reputational damage would ruin their livelihood.
The water will initially be released in smaller portions and with extra checks, with the first discharge totalling 7,800 cubic metres over about 17 days starting Thursday, Tepco said.
That water will contain about 190 becquerels of tritium per litre, below the World Health Organisation drinking water limit of 10,000 becquerels per litre, according to Tepco. A becquerel is a unit of radioactivity.
Japan has said that the water release is safe. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the U.N. nuclear watchdog, greenlighted the plan in July, saying that it met international standards and that the impact it would have on people and the environment was "negligible". (Read more)

2. President Herzog's new plan for the judicial reforms - Israel National News
President Issac Herzog continues efforts to reach a compromise between the coalition and the opposition on the issue of judicial reform. According to Channel 12 News, Herzog recently proposed a new outline according to which the law reducing the reasonability standard will remain in place, but it will be softened and the committee for selecting judges will be changed in a more moderate way than originally suggested.
According to the outline, regarding the committee for the selection of judges, the composition will be changed so that one of the three judges who are members of the committee (3 out of 9 committee members are judges) will be a judge or a retired judge chosen by the Minister of Justice.
The compromise proposal on the committee for the selection of judges increases the power of the coalition in the committee compared to the current situation but still does not give it a majority. (Read more)

3. At UN Security Council meeting, DC, Moscow and Paris take aim at Israel - JNS
America‘s ambassador to the United Nations emphasized at Monday’s U.N. Security Council meeting last week, the Biden administration designated a Hezbollah-linked group—one that purports to be an environmental organization—a terror group. Linda Thomas-Greenfield also stamped the “terror” label on two Israelis who have been charged, but not yet tried, in a deadly incident earlier this month.
“We strongly condemn the terror attacks by settlers in Burqa on August 4 that killed a 19-year-old Palestinian,” said the ambassador, noting also that there have been recent deadly Palestinian terror attacks against Israelis.
Speaking at the security council’s monthly meeting on the Israeli-Palestinian file, Thomas-Greenfield referred to an incident in which a group of Israelis said it aided a shepherd who was attacked by a group of Arabs. A Palestinian was shot under unclear circumstances with the main suspect saying that he fired the deadly bullet in self-defense after being struck in the head with a rock. (Read more)

4. Iran unveils armed drone, claims it could reach Israel - Times of Israel
TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — Iran’s Defense Ministry unveiled a drone on Tuesday resembling America’s armed MQ-9 Reaper, claiming that the aircraft is capable of staying airborne for 24 hours and has the range to reach the country’s archenemy Israel.
Iran’s state-run IRNA news agency published a photograph of the drone, called the Mohajer-10, on display at a conference marking Defense Industry Day with what appeared to be smoke-machine fog underneath it.
“Mohajer” means “immigrant” in Farsi and has been a drone line manufactured by the Islamic Republic since 1985.
IRNA said the drone is able to fly at up to 24,000 feet with a speed of 210 kph (130 mph), carrying a bomb payload of up to 300 kilograms (660 pounds). It also said the drone could carry electronic surveillance equipment and a camera. Iran’s hardline President Ebrahim Raisi, a protégé of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, also viewed the drone on Tuesday. (Read more)

5. Antisemitic Outrages in Berlin Remain at High Levels, New Statistics Show - Algemeiner
Antisemitic incidents in Berlin during the first half of this year remain at the worryingly high levels of the previous two years, according to statistics released on Tuesday by the German capital’s top official combating antisemitism.
During the first six months of 2023, a total of 304 antisemitic incidents were reported, compared with 328 at the same point last year and 319 in 2021. The numbers show that about one third of all antisemitic outrages in Germany, where960 incidents were registered in the first half of 2023, occur in Berlin.
Florian Hengst, the antisemitism officer for the state of Berlin — one of the 16 states that compose Germany’s federal republic — told the German news agency dpa that the figures were only a “preliminary assessment” at this point. (Read more)

1. Atlanta college reinstates mask mandate for students, employees on campus - WSB-TV News
An Atlanta college announced this week that it is reinstating its mask mandate for everyone on campus. Morris Brown College began classes just last week, but will require all students and employees to wear face masks.
Officials say there have been no confirmed COVID-19 cases among its students, but they have received reports from other schools in the Atlanta University Center.
The mask mandate is a precautionary move for the next 14 days. Morris Brown College will also not allow any parties or large student gatherings on campus during this time. (Read more)

- Father, we speak strength and courage over the free people of the United States, so that they may stand against this dictate from an unrighteous overlord. We pray for the college students to be brave against those who would flaunt their power to control the masses through masking, in Jesus name. The evidence is abundant worldwide that this virus is not the life-threatening illness that some people would like it to be. May we take time to access the research and educate ourselves, in Jesus name.

2. Eastman stands by false claims 2020 election was ‘stolen’ after surrender in Georgia - The Hill
Former Trump attorney John Eastman stood by false claims that the 2020 election was stolen after he surrendered to authorities in Fulton County over efforts to overturn the Georgia election.
“Absolutely,” Eastman said after NBC News’s Ali Vitali asked him whether he still believes the 2020 election was stolen. “No question. No question about it.”
“I am here today to surrender to an indictment that should never have been brought,” Eastman said in a statement posted to his attorneys’ website. “It represents a crossing of the Rubicon for our country, implicating the fundamental First Amendment right to petition the government for redress of grievances.” (Read more)

3. US citizens urged to leave Belarus immediately - The Hill
The Biden administration is urging U.S. citizens in Belarus to depart the country immediately and warned against travel there in a statement published Monday.
The security alert comes after bordering countries Lithuania, Latvia and Poland have stepped up security along the border over concerns about Russian Wagner mercenary forces exiled in the country.
The State Department, in its warning, encouraged Americans still in Belarus to depart the country immediately and categorized the country as a Level 4 risk, the highest security warning.
Belarus’s longtime leader Alexander Lukashenko, known as Europe’s last dictator, has been a key facilitator of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s war in Ukraine, and is under a catalog of U.S. sanctions for human rights abuses and political repression against Belarusian people who challenged his claim to election victory in 2020. 4. Taxpayer-Funded Minneapolis Art Center Holds 'Family' Class on Summoning Demons - PJMedia
It’s back to school time! What better way to get the year off to a great start than by taking the whole family to a demon-summoning class? Summon a few demons, sell your soul, and then head out for some last-minute shopping for school supplies. Then ice cream for everyone! It’s practically a scene out of a Norman Rockwell painting. Maybe we could call it “Grandpappy Teaches Billy the Dark Arts.”
The Walker Arts Center in Minneapolis (where else but Minneapolis? Okay, maybe Denver, Chicago, or L.A. Possibly somewhere on the Eastern Seaboard) recently hosted a family night to help people learn how to summon and trap demons. Who needs Monopoly or Uno when you have the entire Realm of Darkness to play in? “No, kids, we’re not playing ‘Sorry’ tonight! Andy, you put the dishes away. Cindy, get your crayons and draw us a pentagram on the basement floor. Honey? Do you have dessert ready?”
As C.S. Lewis observed, it is dangerous to become too fascinated with demons. But it is equally dangerous to ignore them, and one does so at one’s peril. After all, demons operate by deception. Demons know that if people truly understood what they really were, no one would get within ten city blocks of them. So they pretend to be innocuous. Demons portray themselves as helpful, playful, misunderstood creatures that just got a bad rap for being freethinkers. They only want to expand your mind and let you express yourself. Worse yet, they may be able to convince you that they are metaphorical. And you may believe that until you become a slave to all that free thought and self-expression and can’t even recognize yourself in a mirror. It may be a game to Ettun and the misguided families who showed up for this event. But to the demons, it’s deadly serious. (Read more)

- Father God, we take authority over and bind this evil activity in the mighty name of Jesus and place the deluded, deceived people under the shed blood of Jesus Christ. May there be a strong response by the church in word and power releasing the presence of God so that the glory of the love of Christ is released all over this city and art center and the people. May they all be gripped by the revelation of the true Savior, Jesus Christ and that love and redemption is so much more compelling than the seduction of the evil one. We pray for the release of the Spirit of God upon this city. Amen.
- "But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, . . . " (2 Timothy 3:13-15a)

5. Judge rules against Antifa defendants in default, awards Andy Ngo $300,000 in damages over Portland attack - The Post Millennial
The court ruled in favor of Post Millennial senior editor Andy Ngo on Monday in his civil trial against the remaining three alleged Antifa defendants that had physically attacked him in June 2019 in Portland, Oregon.
Defendants Corbyn "Katherine" Belyea, Madison "Denny" Lee Allen, and Sammich Overkill Schott-Deputy were found liable by Judge Sinaplasai for assault, battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
Defendants Belyea, Allen, and Schott-Deputy were allegedly involved in the June 29, 2019 attack on Ngo, in which he was brutally beaten by a mob of alleged members of Rose City Antifa while reporting on an event in Portland, Oregon, according to Ngo's complaint. This attack received national attention and is most commonly referred to as the "milkshake" incident. Ngo was left severely injured and was admitted to the hospital as a result of this attack, which caused a significant injury to Ngo's brain. (Read more)

6. NJ judge blocks school policy of telling parents if their child wants to change gender identity - Just The News
A federal judge in New Jersey ruled on Friday that three school districts are temporarily prohibited from enforcing a new policy that requires schools to inform parents if their child wants to change their gender identity.
Schools from the Marlboro, Manalapan-Englishtown and Middletown districts recently enacted policies that would require teachers to let parents know if a student wanted to go by a new name or pronoun, or wanted to use a different bathroom or play on a school sports team for a different gender.
"The state has demonstrated a reasonable probability of success on its claim that the Amended Policies, if implemented, will have a disparate impact on transgender, gender nonconforming, and nonbinary youth," Monmouth County Judge David Bauman wrote in a preliminary injunction, according to Fox News. We decree that no school and no court will override parental authority in the lives of their children when it involves life-altering decisions, in Jesus name.

8. Biden Administration to Urge Americans Get New COVID-19 Boosters - U.S News
The Biden administration plans to urge all Americans to get a booster shot for the coronavirus this autumn to counter a new wave of infections, a White House official said on Sunday.

The Power Of False Narratives
The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, August 22, 2023
The power of the false narrative of COVID continues to wreak havoc on people long after the medical emergency has ended. The Ohio Medical Board, for example, has indefinitely suspended Dr. Sherri Tenpenny’s license and fined her $3,000 after she criticized COVID vaccines in testimony before Ohio lawmakers in June 2021. Specifically, the board alleges that Dr. Tenpenny didn’t properly respond to its investigation of some 350 complaints after her testimony which raised concerns about mRNA shot side effects such as heart inflammation. Never mind that the government has now admitted that myocarditis, pericarditis and blood clots are caused by the shots. The narrative is more important.
Couched in the suspension is the technicality that the medical board determined that Dr. Tenpenny didn’t cooperate with its investigation into her responses to the complaints. The complaints, according to the suspension documents, centered around requests for evidence that the COVID shots were not injecting a real virus, but genetic materials, and patients were suffering from abnormal bleedings, myocarditis, strokes, and neurological complications. The complaints also sought evidence about her claims that the shots were causing people to be magnetized, creating interface with 5G towers and that some metropolitan areas were liquifying dead bodies and pouring them into the water supply. Now that last claim is really hard to believe, but the medical claims have been confirmed by the CDC and FDA. Read More

What is BRICS? Group of world leaders that considered making a new currency meet to discuss economy
|
|
|
A group of world leaders is meeting at the BRICS summit in Johannesburg, South Africa this week. BRICS is a group of five countries with emerging economies that want to instate their own world economic and trade systems and has discussed creating a new currency. Dozens of other countries want to join the group – but what is BRICS?
What is BRICS?
The acronym, which was originally BRIC, was coined in 2001 by Goldman Sachs analyst Jim O'Neill, who wrote a paper on emerging economies. O'Neill said Brazil, Russia, India and China – the countries that make up the acronym BRIC – had GDP growth that would exceed that of the G7 countries.
The G7 countries— the U.S., Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the U.K. – are a group of the world's advanced economies.
O'Neill found that at the end of 2000, Brazil, Russia, India and China accounted for about 23.3% of world GDP. He expected the BRIC countries' GDP would increase and said the G7 countries should consider adding BRIC representatives to the group.
The four original countries formed an informal group in 2006 as allies that contribute to the world economy. In 2011, South Africa joined the group, and so the acronym became BRICS.
In 2023, BRICS surpassed the global GDP contribution of the G7 countries, according to the group, which says BRICS accounts for nearly 1/3 of the world economic activity.
Leaders from BRICS countries meet annually and this year's summit in Johannesburg, South Africa is expected to be the biggest, with 69 leaders invited.
The group aims to reshape the political economic landscape to benefit themselves and they have created the BRICS Business Council, the Contingent Reserve Agreement, which provides short-term liquidity support, and the New Development Bank, which supports development projects in BRICS countries.
This year's summit will take place Aug. 22–24 and will focus on reducing global reliance on the U.S. dollar. (CBS News) To read the entire article, please go here.

The Stage is Set
By Gary Bauer; American Values
|
|
|
The Republican National Committee and Fox News announced this morning which candidates have qualified for the first GOP presidential primary debate and how they will appear on stage tomorrow night.
The setup was determined by the candidates’ standings in the polls, with the most popular candidates being “front and center.” At the center of the stage will be Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and Vivek Ramaswamy.
On the left side of the stage and moving toward the center will be former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson, former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and former Vice President Mike Pence.
On the right side of the stage and moving toward the center will be North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump is standing his ground, defending his decision to skip the debate and refusing to be a punching bag for the other candidates. Fox News is reportedly retaliating by banning Trump surrogates from the debate “spin room,” thereby preventing them from conducting any interviews at the debate site.
Trump seemingly has little to worry about. The latest Morning Consult poll finds Trump at 58%, 44 points ahead of closest competitor, Ron DeSantis, who is at 14%. Vivek Ramaswamy broke into double digits with 10%.
The latest Rasmussen poll has Trump at 49%, followed by Ramaswamy at 11% and DeSantis at 10%.

First Temple of Solomon Era Artifacts
Discovered in Israel
|
|
For the first time, ivories from the time of the First Temple of Solomon have been uncovered in Israel. Archeologists from Tel Aviv University and the Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA) recently discovered the artifacts during cooperative excavations in the City of David.
The ivories were originally assembled into intricately decorated ivory plaques, which the archeologists believe were created as inlays for wooden furniture used by priests or government officials.
The co-directors of the excavation, archeologists Yiftah Shalev of the IAA and Yuval Gadot of Tel Aviv University, presented their findings in a news release issued by the Israeli government.
The co-directors said that until recently they “only knew of decorated ivories from the capitals of the great kingdoms in the First Temple period, such as Nimrud, the capital of Assyria, or Samaria, the capital of the [Kingdom of Israel].”
They further reported that although they were already aware of the significance of Jerusalem and its regional centrality in the First Temple period, new finds actually prove how important it in fact was, placing Jerusalem in the same league as Assyria and Samaria. Furthermore, ivory discoveries have contributed to the overall deeper understanding of Jerusalem’s status as a global administrative and financial hub, Shalev and Gadot say. Read More

One of the leaders of a Christian organization that trains and mobilizes churches to serve their communities is describing the post-wildfire situation in Maui, Hawaii, as “really apocalyptic.” Despite the chaos following the disastrous flames that torched thousands of acres of land and killed at least 111 people, Todd Lamphere, vice president of government relations for CityServe, says he believes God is still moving in mighty ways. “We’re seeing hope,” Lamphere told CBN’s Faithwire. “We’re seeing God’s people mobilized; we’re seeing God’s people activated; we’re seeing God’s people doing what God’s people do best, and that is being the hands and feet of Jesus.”
He said people are loving others and trying to help amid the intense “hurt and devastation.” Lamphere, who has been around many disaster zones, described the somber nature of seeing cars and houses destroyed, with people displaced and homeless in the process. Meanwhile, much uncertainty abounds. “A ton of people [are] still waiting to hear about their loved ones,” he said. CityServe is working with local churches to distribute 250,000 prepackaged meals, with other resources — including cleaning supplies and toiletries — on the way. “This is the beauty of the body of Christ and the faith organizations that do disaster response,” Lamphere said, noting the effort is being undertaken by numerous well-known Christian relief groups and churches who are coming together to assist. Lamphere used the Apostle Paul’s words in 1 Corinthians 12 to underscore the importance of the church stepping up to be the hands and feet of Jesus. (CBN) Read More

- Abba, we PRAISE YOU for the unity in the church especially in the midst of tragedy. May the Island of Maui and those who have not encountered Jesus, be given eyes to SEE YOU and be loved through Your People. Bring healing, comfort and every urgent need, as Maui is brought back to full-restoration through Your holy Hand. In Jesus mighty Name- Amen.
- "There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work."
(1 Corinthians 12:4-6)

"Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. In Your Name."

Scripture: Whosoever will, let him take the free gift of the water of life. Revelation 22:17
Lyrics:
I am happy today,
And the sun shines bright,
The clouds have been rolled away;
For the Savior said,
Whosoever will
May come with Him to stay.
Refrain
Whosoever surely meaneth me,
Surely meaneth me,
O surely meaneth me;
Whosoever surely meaneth me,
Whosoever meaneth me.
All my hopes have been raised,
O His name be praised,
His glory has filled my soul;
I’ve been lifted up,
And from sin set free,
His blood has made me whole.
Refrain
O what wonderful love,
O what grace divine,
That Jesus should die for me;
I was lost in sin,
For the world I pined,
But now I am set free.
Refrain
