Supreme Court Upholds Injunctions Blocking Biden-Harrix Admin's Transgender Title IX Rewrite
|
|
The Supreme Court on Friday upheld two lower courts’ temporary injunctions blocking President Joe Biden’s rule applying federal civil rights law to transgender issues in education, including school bathrooms and women’s sports.
The Department of Education under the Biden-Harris administration issued new rules reinterpreting Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, a law that bars discrimination on the basis of sex in education. The changes force gender ideology on Americans in the name of prohibiting discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity.
Tennessee and Louisiana are leading two lawsuits against the Education Department and its Biden-appointed secretary, Miguel Cardona, seeking injunctions to block the application of the law. The U.S. Courts of Appeals for the 5th and 6th Circuits granted preliminary injunctions, blocking the new rules from going into effect.

Rev. Franklin Graham calls out "Evangelicals for Harris" for Trying to Mislead People Using His Father in Ad
|

Christian evangelist Franklin Graham blasted the "Evangelicals for Harris" organization for using footage of his late father in an attack ad against former President Trump.
Graham is president and CEO of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and Samaritan’s Purse, which were founded by his father, the late Billy Graham. Billy Graham was a world-famous evangelist and considered to be an icon of American culture. A statue of him was installed at the U.S. Capitol in May.
Evangelicals for Harris, formerly Evangelicals for Biden, is a project of Faith Voters, a 501(c)4 organization.
On Wednesday, the group held a Zoom conference hosted by "reparations activist" Ekemini Uwan, who has argued that "Whiteness is wicked" and the police as an institution "needs to be destroyed and rebuilt. Policing was founded on the re-enslavement of Black people." (Fox News) Read more

Wasington Post Editorial Board Roasts Kamala Harris for Economic Plan

The Washington Post‘s editorial board roasted Vice President Kamala Harris for her newly announced economic plan.
In an editorial piece on Friday, the Washington Post noted that Harris “squandered” the opportunity to announce a “substantial plan” to the American public.
“Americans are clearly still anxious and angry about the high cost of groceries, housing and even $5.29 Big Macs,” the editorial board wrote. “While the inflation rate has cooled substantially since the 2022 peak, an ostensible Biden-Harris administration accomplishment, prices remain elevated relative to the Trump years”:
So it’s a real political issue for Ms. Harris. One way to handle it might be to level with voters, telling them that inflation spiked in 2021 mainly because the pandemic snarled supply chains, and that the Federal Reserve’s policies, which the Biden-Harris administration supported, are working to slow it. The vice president instead opted for a less forthright route: Blaming big business. She vowed to go after “price gouging” by grocery stores, landlords, pharmaceutical companies and other supposed corporate perpetrators by having the Federal Trade Commission enforce a vaguely defined “federal ban on price gouging.”
The piece from the outlet’s editorial board came after Harris vowed to build three million new homes over the course of four years, go after companies for price gouging, and give families a $6,000 child tax credit. (Breitbart) Read more

Walz administration awarded $2 million to Muslim group fundraising for al Qaeda-linked charity
Under Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN), the state of Minnesota awarded over $2 million to an Islamic group that fundraises for a charity linked to an al Qaeda affiliate, according to funding records reviewed by the Washington Examiner.
The Islamic Association of North America, the recipient of the state grants from 2019 to 2024, is fundraising after Hamas’s Oct. 7 attack on Israel last year for Rahma Worldwide, a Michigan-based charity that says it is shipping humanitarian aid to Gaza, according to flyers. In a since-deleted Facebook post in October 2023, Rahma Worldwide President Shadi Zaza revealed his charity was collaborating on an aid initiative with the Islamic Heritage Revival Society of Kuwait, a terrorist group sanctioned by the U.S. government for funding al Qaeda.
News of the Walz administration’s grants to the IANA comes as the Democratic vice presidential candidate faces backlash after a series of Washington Examiner reports revealed his ties to Muslim cleric Asad Zaman. As Minnesota’s governor, Walz has repeatedly hosted Zaman, who shared a pro-Adolf Hitler movie on social media and defended the Oct. 7 attack. Moreover, according to unearthed footage, Walz referred to Zaman as a “master teacher” at a 2018 event held by the Zaman-led Muslim American Society of Minnesota, which partners with the IANA. 1. With Blinken en route, Netanyahu insists he will stick to demands on hostage talks - Israel National News
As the top US diplomat was making his way to Israel to press for a hostage deal between Israel and Hamas, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stressed on Sunday that he was sticking to his demands, urging more pressure on an inflexible Hamas.
“I want to emphasize,” Netanyahu said at the start of the weekly cabinet meeting, “we are conducting negotiations [“give-and-take” in Hebrew], and not give-and-give. There are areas where we can show flexibility, and there are areas where we can’t show flexibility — and we are standing firm on them. We know quite well how to distinguish between the two.”
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken was headed to Israel on Sunday for his ninth trip to the Middle East since the Gaza war broke out with the Hamas attack on October 7. He is set to meet Israeli leaders, including Netanyahu, as the White House indicates that a deal is ready to be closed. (Read more)

2. Hamas rejects hostage release deal, claims Netanyahu added demands - World Israel News
Hamas has rejected the newest version of the hostage release deal and claimed that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has updated the July 2nd framework proposal with additional demands.
The terror group claimed that Netanyahu was prolonging the war and “sets new conditions and demands” to the original framework agreement.
Earlier on Sunday, a Hamas source leaked details of the hostage proposal presented by a US official at Doha.
Hamas rejects Israel’s delay of a full and permanent ceasefire until the second phase, a condition that Hamas had earlier agreed to.
Also, Hamas says that Israel wants to retain control of the Philadelphi corridor and Rafah crossing and to have a presence in the Netzarim Corridor when the terror group demands a full withdrawal of Israeli troops from the Gaza Strip. (Read more)

3. IDF strikes launch sites in Khan Yunis, UNIFIL says three lightly injured in Lebanon explosion - Jerusalem Post
Fighter jets struck launching sites in the Khan Yunis area and the outskirts of Deir al-Balah on Sunday, the IDF said. Rockets were launched from these locations on Friday towards the Nirim area.
Throughout the day, sirens sounded in the South, including in Nir Oz. The 10-month-long war in Gaza continued in the shadow of a pursued hostage and ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas, mediated by the US, Qatar, and Egypt.
The military said on Sunday that a soldier from the 202 Battalion, Paratroopers Brigade, was severely injured during combat in the southern Gaza Strip. The soldier was evacuated to the hospital for medical treatment. (Read more)

4. Terror attack in Samaria: Gideon Peri murdered in hammer attack - Israel National News
Gideon Peri, 38 from the town of Kedumim in Samaria, was murdered on Sunday in a terror attack at the Baron industrial area near his hometown.
A Palestinian Arab attacked Peri with a hammer, stole his gun, and fled the scene.
Peri, a Kedumim native, was the manager of a factory in the Baron industrial area and was attacked by one of his employees. He struggled with the terrorist but was severely injured and later in the evening succumbed to his injuries at Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva. (Read more)

5. Israel informed of Abbas' intention to visit the Gaza Strip - Israel National News
The Palestinian Authority’s leadership has begun diplomatic activity to prepare the ground for a visit by PA chairman Mahmoud Abbas to the Gaza Strip.
In a speech to the Turkish Parliament late last week, Abbas had said, "I decided to go with all the members of the leadership to the Gaza Strip, and I will do my best to be with our people, since our lives are not more precious than the life of any Palestinian child, and we implement the provisions of Islamic law, which stipulate either a victory or falling in the path of Allah."
In this framework, the PA leadership held contacts with the United Nations, the permanent member states of the Security Council, the Arab League and other countries to ensure the visit takes place and succeeds. (Read more)

1. Kamala Ripped For Plan To Give First-Time Homeowners Federal Handouts- Daily Wire
Vice President Kamala Harris was slammed on Friday as she announced a plan to give first-time homeowners $25,000 from the federal government for a down payment on a house.
Harris officially unrolled the plan during her Friday afternoon rally in North Carolina. The vice president promised that a Harris-Walz administration would give working families up to $25,000 in down payment assistance if they have paid their rent on time for two years and are first-time buyers. Those who are first-generation homeowners would get more assistance than other first-time homeowners, ABC News reporter Selina Wang wrote on X after getting details about the proposal from a Harris campaign official.
Republican vice presidential candidate JD Vance ripped Harris’ housing proposal, warning that it would be used to give illegal immigrants “American homes.”
“Kamala Harris wants to give $25,000 to illegal aliens to buy American homes. This will only further exacerbate the housing shortage in our country. It’s a disgrace,” Vance posted on X. “We should be making it easier and more affordable for American citizens to buy homes.” Read more

2. Rep. Higgins: FBI Released Crooks’ Body for Cremation, Injured Congressional Investigation, Cleaned Evidence from Crime Scene- Breitbart
Rep. Clay Higgins (R-LA) requested to examine the body of would-be presidential assassin Thomas Matthew Crooks as part of the House’s investigation into the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump, only to discover that the shooter’s body is “gone” and that “the FBI cleaned up biological evidence from the crime scene,” which the congressman says “injure[d]” the investigation.
The FBI released Crooks’ body for cremation on July 23, just ten days after the assassination attempt on Trump, and “nobody knew this” until August 5, including the Butler County coroner, law enforcement, and the Butler County sheriff, Higgins said in a Monday report.
“My effort to examine Crooks’ body on Monday, August 5, caused quite a stir and revealed a disturbing fact… the FBI released the body for cremation 10 days after [July] 13,” the congressman said. “On [July] 23, Crooks was gone.”
“Nobody knew this until Monday, August 5, including the County Coroner, law enforcement, Sheriff, etc.,” Higgins added.
“Yes, Butler County Coroner technically had legal authority over the body, but I spoke with the Coroner, and he would have never released Crooks’ body to the family for cremation or burial without specific permission from the FBI,” the congressman clarified. Read more

3. Biden-Subsidized Offshore Wind Developer Reports Massive Losses In Latest Blow To Industry- Daily Caller
A Danish renewable energy group booked huge impairment losses Thursday after it pushed back the launch of one of its U.S. offshore wind projects, according to its first-half 2024 earnings report.
Orsted estimated the value of its assets declined $472 million in the first half of 2024, largely due to delays at the onshore substation for its 704 megawatt (MW) “Revolution Wind” project off the coast of Rhode Island and Connecticut, the report showed. The company also reported a variety of other problems, including losses related to its cancellation of its Ocean Wind projects in New Jersey and its abandoned effort to produce eco-friendly methanol in Sweden.
“Despite encouraging progress on our US offshore wind project Revolution Wind, the construction of the onshore substation for the project has been delayed,” Orsted’s CEO Mads Nipper said in reference to the delay. “This is, of course, unsatisfactory, and we continue our dedicated efforts to de-risk our portfolio.” Read more

4. ‘This Administration Is Orchestrating A Massive Shell Game’: CBP Releases July Border Encounter Numbers- Daily Wire
After U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) released their border encounter numbers for July 2024, showing such numbers have surpassed 10 million, along with roughly 2 million known gotaways, since Joe Biden and Kamala Harris took office, House Committee on Homeland Security Chairman Mark E. Green, MD (R-TN) blistered the Biden administration for their failure to control the border.
“Despite the false narrative they’re attempting to project, the unprecedented border crisis the president and his ‘border czar’ have created continues to rage on,” Green stated. “This administration is orchestrating a massive shell game, encouraging otherwise-inadmissible aliens to cross at ports of entry instead of between them—thereby creating a façade of improved optics for the administration, but in reality imposing a growing burden on our communities. Total encounters at our ports—land, sea, and air—are up exponentially this fiscal year compared to the Biden-Harris administration’s first year in office, and are on track to surpass last year’s total. 5. Trump huddles with Tulsi Gabbard ahead of debate with Harris- The Hill
A Trump campaign spokesperson confirmed the former president has spoken with Gabbard, though they dismissed the idea Trump was engaging in traditional debate preparations ahead of his Sept. 10 showdown with Harris.
“President Trump has proven to be one of the best debaters in political history as evidenced by his knockout blow to Joe Biden,” Trump campaign spokesperson Karoline Leavitt said in a statement. “He does not need traditional debate prep but will continue to meet with respected policy advisors and effective communicators like Tulsi Gabbard, who successfully dominated Kamala Harris on the debate stage.”
The New York Times first reported on Trump’s conversations with Gabbard.
Arguably Gabbard’s most notable moment of her unsuccessful 2020 White House bid was when she attacked Harris on the debate stage over her record as a prosecutor.
Gabbard, who has since left the Democratic Party and appears regularly on Fox News, chastised Harris during the July 2019 primary debate for putting more than 1,500 people in jail for marijuana violations and accused her of initially blocking evidence that would have freed an innocent man from death row. Anti-Israel radicals at Columbia University are pushing for the “total eradication of Western Civilization” — and threatening even more extreme tactics to accomplish their twisted goal until the “empire crumbles.”
Columbia University Apartheid Divest, a coalition of 116 student groups at the Ivy League School whose members set up encampments on the Manhattan campus and stormed Hamilton Hall this past spring, made the explosive claim after “comrades” in Bangladesh ousted former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina following weeks of bloody anti-government protests.
“We are Westerners fighting for the total eradication of Western civilization,” the group wrote in an Aug. 7 Instagram post. “We stand in full solidarity with every movement for liberation in the Global South.”

55 rockets launched at north after IDF strike on Hezbollah arms depot said to kill 10
|

|
Hezbollah launched a barrage of some 55 rockets at a northern Israeli kibbutz on Saturday in what it said was a response to an Israeli airstrike overnight that killed at least 10 people and wounded five others. The Israel Defense Forces said it targeted a weapons depot belonging to the terror group.
In a separate incident Saturday, two IDF soldiers were wounded in an explosive drone strike on a military position near the northern community of Misgav Am, the military said. One of the soldiers was listed in serious condition, while the other was lightly hurt. Hezbollah claimed the attack saying it launched two drones at Israel.
The large barrage targeted Ayelet HaShahar, a kibbutz located some 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) from the Lebanon border. The community is not among dozens of evacuated towns.
There were no reports of injuries, but the rockets sparked blazes in at least 10 locations in the Upper Galilee. The Fire and Rescue Service said it was working to extinguish the fires in fields and other open areas near Mishmar HaYarden, Ayelet HaShahar, and Mahanayim.

Hezbollah Unveils Vast Underground Missile Complex

Latest Developments
The Iranian-backed terror group Hezbollah released a video on August 16 showcasing a vast underground tunnel network that includes a precision missile launch site. It is the latest threatening message by Hezbollah as the group has warned it will widen its attacks on Israel. The tunnels seen in the new footage, which Hezbollah shared with the pro-Iranian Al-Mayadeen network, “show many terrorists operating inside them. The tunnels appear to be part of an underground network that, along with missiles, contains lighting, technology, and computers,” The Jerusalem Post reported. Hezbollah referred to the site as its Imad 4 facility and claimed that it had been undetected until now. The site contains a complex of tunnels large enough for trucks to drive through.

Harris campaign’s new adviser to Muslims draws criticism from pro-Israel leaders
|
|
|
|
U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign hired Nasrina Bargzie, a former adviser of Harris’s in the White House on “Muslim, Arab and Gaza-related issues as well as reproductive rights, voting and democracy,” to “lead outreach to Muslim and Arab voters,” NBC News reported.
“I am honored to continue my work for the vice president, advising on a range of critical issues in this election, from democracy and reproductive rights to Muslim and Arab outreach,” Bargzie stated, per NBC.
Bargzie co-wrote a 2015 article in the UC Law Journal of Race and Economic Justice, at the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco, in which she noted “a wave of civil rights complaints” related to Israel and the Palestinians.
“This article rejects the central premise of these complaints: that students suffer from a hostile educational environment in violation of their civil rights when a particular country or government with which they may identify is subjected to vigorous critique or academic scrutiny,” she and her co-author wrote.
The U.S. Department of Education’s “handling of these complaints contributed to a chilling effect on university campuses discouraging robust discussion about Israel, Palestine and U.S. policy,” they added.
Mort Klein, national president of the Zionist Organization of America, told JNS that Bargzie sought “to shut down investigations of the groups that harass and attack Jewish students.”
Klein connected Bargzie’s tenure in Harris’s office and the Democratic presidential candidate “increasingly and unjustifiably attacking Israel, including falsely implying that Israel is deliberately targeting civilians.”
“We are deeply concerned about Nasrina Bargzie’s support of Students for Justice in Palestine—the group perpetrating numerous violent anti-Jewish actions on college campuses across the country,” Klein added, “and about Bargzie’s accusations that Jewish students and organizations are engaged in ‘organized legal bullying’ for taking legal action demanding that universities protect Jewish students.”
Alan Dershowitz, law professor emeritus at Harvard Law School, told JNS that Bargzie tilts the Harris campaign in an anti-Israel direction compared to the pro-Israel stance of Ilan Goldenberg, who leads Jewish voter outreach for the campaign.
“She appears to be much more one-sidedly anti-Israel than Ilan Goldenberg. It’s an imbalance,” Dershowitz told JNS. “The Muslim liaison appointment seems much more one-sidedly anti-Israel than the allegedly pro-Israel appointee seems pro-Israel, so it seems like an unbalanced couple of appointments.” (JNS.org) Read more here.

U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris’s lack of response to a July 31 letter about her national security adviser’s ties to an alleged foreign spy “raises the question of whether you’ve been aware of Mr. [Philip] Gordon’s possible links to the Iranian regime and simply find your policies aligned enough with Tehran’s interests that ties to that regime don’t concern you,” Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ariz.) wrote to Harris on Thursday.
The senator pointed out that Gordon is connected to Ariane Tabatabai, a suspected Iranian agent. “The presence of such an obvious security risk in your inner circle should have elicited your utmost attention,” the senator wrote.
“In social-media posts since our last letter, Mr. Gordon continues to demonstrate a pattern of anti-Israel bias, which furthers Iranian interests. How to See Two More Meteor Showers This Month
|

t this point, stargazers might as well just look up at the night sky every night. This month, we've had a planet parade, a triple meteor shower and a few appearances of aurora borealis. With Perseids and another planet parade, August is shaping up to be a great month for fans of the night sky. And you can add two more meteor showers to your calendar.
The first shower will come courtesy of Kappa Cygnids, a meteor shower that started on Aug. 3 and runs through Aug. 25. It should reach its zenith on Aug. 17, just a few days after Perseids finishes its light show. What makes Kappa Cygnids interesting is that it doesn't happen every year, and we aren't quite sure where it came from.
Typically, a meteor shower is associated with a comet that leaves dust and debris in its wake. For example, the Perseids meteor shower is produced by the comet Swift-Tuttle, as the Earth moves through its trail. However, astronomers have yet to discover which comet left Kappa Cygnids behind for us, although some scholars believe that it may be a minor planet called 2008 ED69.
The second meteor shower to grace the August evening skies is Alpha Aurigids. It's a much shorter meteor shower that begins on Aug. 25 and runs through Sept. 10. It should peak late on Aug. 31 and into Sept. 1. This one comes courtesy of the C/1911 N1 Kiess comet, which takes 2,000 years to orbit the sun. Alpha Aurigids is known for producing spectacular meteor showers about once or twice a century. This year isn't one of those years, but it'll still produce a decent number of meteors. Read More

Ryan Bomberger Shares 'Miracle' Update in Battle With Cancer

Just a few months after announcing his cancer diagnosis, Christian author and activist Ryan Bomberger shared just after midnight Friday morning he is now in remission. “This morning,” he wrote in a post to X, accompanied by a video, “I heard the words from my surgeon that I’ve waited to hear for three months since surgery: ‘You’re in remission!'” Bomberger shared in late May he had been diagnosed with stage 2 prostate cancer with paraneural invasion, meaning there was a chance the cancer spread outside his prostate. That prognosis, he wrote at the time, left him “in disbelief.” Trusting God for a miracle, he moved forward with treatment and surgery to remove the cancer. And it was successful, according to Bomberger’s latest update.
“God is so good,” he began his video, clearly emotional. “You know when you’re in the middle of not just the physical battle but the spiritual battle, we don’t like to wait. But miracles are worth waiting for.” Bomberger, who has been outspoken in his opposition to abortion and advocacy for adoption, is using his journey with cancer as an opportunity to point people toward the hope of Christ. “For anyone who is dealing with something that you feel like, ‘This is impossible, how am I going to overcome?'” he said. “Look, on this side of heaven, we may not get the physical healing that we need, but, even in our physical struggles, there’s often the spiritual healing and the spiritual revitalization that we need — that I needed — and God is so good, regardless of that physical miracle this side of heaven or the other side of heaven.
