Understanding Iran's Apocalyptic Dream
|
|
It might be news to the United States and Israel that despite the Satanic appellations assigned to them by Iran's regime--"Big and Little Satan" respectively--neither figure is the Islamic Republic's final objective, which defines Shi'ite Islam. Iran's theocratic worldview is shaped by the Shi'ite belief that Muhammad's will was betrayed by the Sunni Caliphs who immediately succeeded the prophet. The true believers in the Shi'ite hierarchy assert that the Sunni hijacking of Islam will end with the return of the Imam Zaman (the Twelfth Imam), ushering in the end times.
For certain, the Islamic Republic employs the "Zionist Entity" as a foil to obscure its apostate image among Sunnis. Iran's militancy also diminishes Saudi Arabia's traditional primacy as guardian of Sunni Islam's global interests. Iranian efforts to recruit both Shi'ite and Sunni Muslims to join the anti-Zionist "resistance" have succeeded in capturing the passion of even some Sunni extremist groups, like Hamas.
Although Iran's revolution is a modern occurrence (1979), the essence of its theological ideology is rooted in the first decades of Islamic history. The Sunni-Shi'ite divide is traceable to the refusal by Damascus-based Umayyad dynastic Islamic notables to recognize the claim of Ali, the son-in-law and nephew of Muhammad, as the prophet's legitimate successor as leader of Islam. Though Ali ultimately was named the Fourth Caliph, Sunni leaders disinherited his sons, killing his youngest, Hussain, and many of his followers at the Battle of Karbala, Iraq in 680 CE. 1. Israel says French, UK top diplomats will visit tomorrow to discuss avoiding conflagration - Times of Israel
The foreign ministers of France and Britain will visit Israel tomorrow and meet Foreign Minister Israel Katz to discuss efforts to prevent a regional escalation, Katz’s ministry says in a statement.
The tripartite meeting between Katz, David Lammy and Stephane Sejourne is also set to touch on efforts to reach a hostage deal, with Katz set to tout the need to impose harsh sanctions on Iran over its nuclear, missile and drone programs, and to declare its Revolutionary Guards a terrorist organization.
The meeting and the trips aren’t initially confirmed by the UK and French ministries, though Sky News cites a diplomatic source saying Lammy will indeed fly in tomorrow.
The British Foreign Ministry does provide a statement from Lammy saying the UK is urging partners in the Middle East to “choose peace.” (Read more)

2. Northern Israel’s wildlife endangered by unrelenting fires - World Israel News
As northern Israel burns from 10 months of missile fire, experts are struggling to save the rare animals that call this place home.
“We have very old reserves in the area, and no hunting is allowed, meaning that we have stable populations of animals there,” Noam Ben-Moshe, director of the Center for Ecosystem Restoration and Nature-Based Solutions, told The Press Service of Israel.
“There are animals [in the region] that now exist only in northern Israel,” he stressed, explaining that mismanagement in neighboring countries has made many regional species rare or extinct.
The north hosts Israel’s largest wild mountain gazelle and wolf populations, but the fires are rapidly shrinking their ecosystems. Other animals that are often unable to escape the flames include reptiles, insects, nesting birds, small mammals, and more, Ben-Moshe said. (Read more)

3. Dozens of settlers torch homes, cars in Palestinian village in West Bank - Times of Israel
Roughly 50 masked Israeli settlers have invaded the Palestinian village of Jit, torching at least four homes and six vehicles, an Israeli security official tells The Times of Israel.
Following the publication of photos from the attack in the northern West Bank village, Labor party chairman Yair Golan tweets: “Messianic Jewish terrorism is determined to ignite the territory and force a difficult and unnecessary regional campaign on Israel.”
As is almost always the case in such incidents of settler violence, there are no reports of any arrests. (Read more)

4. Heads of councils in Samaria against violence in Jit: Violent rioters are not welcome here - Israel National News
The head of the Samaria Regional Council, Yossi Dagan, and the head of the Kedumim Council, Ozel Vatik, issued a joint statement on Thursday evening in which they criticized the riot by far rightists in the Palestinian Arab town of Jit in Samaria.
"We wish to say in a clear way, in no uncertain terms: Even after the throwing of rocks, no one has the right to take the law into their own hands! The army and the enforcement agencies are the ones responsible for taking care of this. The settlement in Samaria finds the boys who come from outside Samaria and create violence to be contemptible. We say to those unwelcome guests who came to Samaria through bizarre WhatsApp groups in order to cause disorder and violence: If you want to behave violently, don't come here to Samaria - you are not welcome here."
The two added, "We are already dealing here with terrorism, political difficulties from within the country and abroad, and we do not need your acts of violence and the bad name you give to the communities in Judea and Samaria and to the entire State of Israel. Recently there has been an increase in the number of terrorist attacks in the region. We know and see that the army is operating on the ground in order to calm things down and bring security to all of us and always demand more action and a tougher hand against terrorism." (Read more)

5. IDF says it razed over 50 tunnels in Gaza-Egypt border area in past week - Times of Israel
More than 50 tunnels discovered along the Philadelphi Route, the Egypt-Gaza border area, have been demolished by combat engineers over the past week, the IDF says.
The military does not detail how many of the tunnels crossed into Egypt.
Tunnels along the Philadelphi Route are believed to be used by Hamas for smuggling arms into the Strip. (Read more)

3. Gen Z’s Mental Health is Being Impacted by the Decaying Culture – Prophecy Newswatch
The family unit, social interaction, and politics are a few of the many variables that impact a developing adolescent. When a child's family unit is broken, social life is in shambles, or the political public square becomes unavoidable, it can have consequences on who they become as their worldview takes shape.
As evidenced by previous reports, as well as one published last month, mental health concerns are exploding in the younger generation.
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration conducted a July survey that analyzed the amount of counseling, medication, or other forms of mental health therapy minors underwent in 2023. According to the results, 8.3 million youth ages 12 to 17 received mental health care, which The Epoch Times noted "is equivalent to nearly one-third of the adolescents in the U.S. undergoing treatment for mental health issues." 4. New Poll Shows Trump Surging Back to National Lead – Trending Politics
On Wednesday in North Carolina, former President Donald Trump argued that his re-election would bolster Americans’ well-being. Meanwhile, Vice President Kamala Harris is set to respond with her own economic address this Friday. As the 2024 presidential race heats up, a new poll has revealed a close contest between Trump and Harris.
The DailyMail poll, conducted among 1,001 likely voters, showed Trump with a lead of two percentage points—43% to Harris’s 41%. While some polls suggest Harris is gaining momentum, the poll indicates a still competitive race. However, the race to the White House could indeed come down to the wire this November.
A separate online survey explored the reasons behind Trump’s slight edge, identifying his perceived strength and charisma as key factors. Voters see him as the candidate more capable of achieving results. Some of the headlines these days can be quite discouraging. The news media continues to propagate lies about the presidential candidates by attacking one and embellishing the other. The stock market is teetering on a meltdown. US debt is over $35 Trillion. Inflation is eating more hardy than families. Antisemitism is running wild. The world is on the brink of war. The Olympics is letting men beat up on women and giving them gold medals for it. You can see this is no time for the weak-hearted. It is no time for followers of Christ to disengage. It seems we have been doing that since the 1960s, and it hasn’t worked. Christ is the answer to this dark and dying world, and you are his vessel. Think about that.
You have a calling. And much bad doctrine has been taught about this. The Holy Scriptures say in Romans 8:28 “that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” It’s not your purpose, but “HIS” purpose. Romans 11:29 says that “the gifts and calling of God are unchangeable.” So when people are saying that you have to find your calling, it is really understanding that you are called “not according to our works, but according to his own purpose (2 Timothy 1:9).” Christ is our example. He is the way the truth and the life. He showed us how to engage according to his purpose. It takes courage to conduct Christ’s purpose in this world, in this country today. Read More

AI can create everything from stunning landscapes to lifelike portraits in a matter of moments—and at first glance, they may appear perfectly legitimate.
How can you discern in this age of misinformation if the images you’re seeing are real or fabricated?
Fortunately, there are subtle clues that can help us tell the difference, including inconsistencies in texture, anomalies in human features, and garbled writing. By understanding these telltale signs, you can better navigate digital information and assess the authenticity of the images you encounter.

10 Things to Look For in Next Week’s Democratic Party Convention

As the Democratic National Convention meets next week, Kamala Harris hopes it will be an opportunity to recast herself as a moderate. Harris has launched “a highly choreographed effort to define herself — in some cases, redefine herself — as a different kind of Democrat,” insiders have told Axios. “Harris won’t say it this bluntly in public, but her advisers do so privately: She wants to break with Biden on issues on which he’s unpopular.” Her campaign hopes next week’s DNC will be the new Harris’s coming out party.
Yet Kamala’s chrysalis faces headwinds within her own party. Last month, the Democratic Party released a draft of its 2024 platform which, like all platforms, reflects a political party’s long-term aspirational plans to reshape the nation. The 2024 platform contains numerous extreme policies that should concern Americans of all backgrounds, especially people of faith. The real test of the vice president’s would-be transformation comes down to a simple question: Can she stand up against her party on these issues?

1. Pro-Palestinian Protests Scheduled Throughout Week for DNC in Chicago - Breitbart
Pro-Palestinian protests will take place nearly every day of the Democratic National Convention (DNC) next week, while demonstrators will descend on the city for other causes as well.
As the Democrat Party remains deeply fractured over the Biden-Harris administration’s handling of the Israel-Hamas war, Pro-Palestinian-related protests are set for Sunday, the eve of the convention, Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, the final day of the convention. 2. Chicago Businesses Boarding Up Ahead of Democratic Nat'l Convention - Breitbart
Chicago businesses are already boarding up their storefronts downtown ahead of Monday’s opening of the Democratic National Convention in anticipation of mass rioting and violence.
Plywood shielding first began showing up Thursday morning as the city’s shopping district opened for business.
“As we know, this city has a poor track record when it comes to protecting businesses,” Scott Shapiro, owner of Syd Jerome, told Chicago’s WLS-TV. “We felt it was more prudent to board up, since our customers and their employers have told them to stay home throughout the convention for their own safety,” Shapiro added. 4. House Oversight Committee Launching Investigation into Tim Walz over China Connections - Breitbart
The House Oversight Committee is launching an investigation into Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) over his numerous connections to China, which include a student exchange program funded by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), the Chinese secret police station operating in the Twin Cities, and much more.
Chairman James Comer (R-KY) launched the investigation “following reports detailing the Governor’s longstanding connections to Chinese Communist Party entities and officials,” according to the House Oversight Committee.

Hurricane season update: What the US can expect into September, October
|

The Atlantic hurricane season is about to ramp up with a barrage of tropical storms and hurricanes, and AccuWeather forecasters warn the season could approach record-setting levels.
The peak of the Atlantic hurricane season is right around the corner, and it is about to shift into gear around the same time that the calendar flips from August to September.
AccuWeather meteorologists have not wavered since the initial forecast was released on March 27, 2024, holding steady with predictions of a near-historic Atlantic hurricane season.
As of Aug. 14, five tropical systems, including two tropical storms and three hurricanes, had already formed. By the end of the year, AccuWeather expects 20-25 named storms and 8-12 hurricanes to form. Hurricane Beryl and Hurricane Debby both made landfall in the United States, and another two to four direct impacts are predicted.
Hurricane forecast through late August
Other than Ernesto, which is currently swirling off the East Coast of the United States, not much activity is anticipated through Aug. 24.
"It looks like that over the next 10 days or so tropical activity will be suppressed across the Atlantic due to another batch of dry Saharan dust that is moving off of Africa," AccuWeather Lead Hurricane Expert Alex DaSilva said. "I think things could pick back up during the last week of the month and into September, as it looks like the dust will decrease."
This aligns with the peak of the Atlantic hurricane season, which occurs around Sept. 10. Read More

Gold Medal Winner Stuns World by Singing About Jesus during Olympic Press Event

[CBN News] The Paris Olympics wrapped up over the weekend, but one faith-filled moment has been shining out brightly in the aftermath of the global spectacle. This year the games featured a wide variety of both God-glorifying moments and anti-Christian displays, like the sacrilegious mockery of the Last Supper during the opening ceremonies. In the final days of the games, one athlete took a bold stand for Jesus, singing out her Christian faith right in the middle of answering questions on the global stage. Yemisi Ogunleye of Germany won the gold medal in the women's shot put at the 2024 Summer Olympics on Friday.
On her first attempt, she had slipped and fallen due to rainy conditions. Ogunleye said she overcame discouragement with God's help. "I was just saying a prayer. It was the moment when I knew that if I have the faith, I am capable of doing more than I can think or ask for. In that moment, I just took all the energy that I had left and just put it out there," she said. Then she managed to launch the 8.8-pound metal ball a full 20.00 meters. During the Olympic press conference, she was asked about singing in a Gospel choir.
