Pentagon says an attack by Iran on Israel is 'certainly possible' this week: ‘We need to take it seriously'

US military maneuvers resources to the Middle East, including the USS Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group
|
|
A Pentagon spokesperson told reporters on Tuesday that an attack by Iran on Israel is "certainly possible" this week, adding that the threat needs to be taken seriously, so more resources are being maneuvered to the region.
Pentagon press secretary Maj. Gen. Pat Ryder spoke with reporters and was asked about simmering tensions in the Middle East. He was asked about the Iranian threat against Israel. The White House has said an attack by Iran could come this week.
"Is an attack possible this week? That’s certainly possible," Ryder said. "The bottom line is… I’m not going to speculate or try to guess when they might attack, other than to say we need to take it seriously, and we are doing that."
Ryder said Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin ordered the USS Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group to the Middle East, adding to capabilities already provided by the USS Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group.
Ryder also said Austin ordered the USS Georgia guided missile submarine to the area. The "U.S. military force posture adjustments" are being made to improve U.S. force protection and increase its support for the defense of Israel, Ryder added. (Fox News)

- Abba, we are thankful that the White House military leadership is wise enough to back up our words with actions. Thank You that we now have 2 carrier strike groups in place to react to Iranian advances if needed. We ask Holy Spirit to continue speaking into hearts in Iran, Israel and the US, bringing wisdom and understanding of what consequences to aggressive actions would look like. Father God, we ask You to dispatch Your warrior angels into the heavenlies to fight against the spirits of pride and arrogance that are working to divide and conquer our alliances with Israel and other countries, silence those voices. Jesus, we ask You to give those making military and political decisions revelation to know what Your decisions are and please give them the grace to follow Your instructions. We ask this in the name Jehovah Sabaoth, The Host of Heaven's Armies.

Chicago anti-Israel DNC protest groups handed loss by federal judge just days before start
|
|
Anti-Israel groups wanted to rally within sight and sound of Chicago's United Center
|
|
A federal judge in Chicago handed anti-Israel protest groups a loss this week, rejecting their request for more space to protest the Gaza counteroffensive outside the Democratic National Convention next week.
Four groups seeking to organize protests – the Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression, the Anti-War Committee, Students for a Democratic Society at UIC, and the U.S. Palestinian Community Network – asked for parade permits giving them authorization to march over an expanded area.
The judge shut them down this week, rejecting their claim that the city's preferred protest route violates their First Amendment rights.
They want to take their protest nearer to the United Center, one of two locations for the DNC next week, and through a street that the Secret Service and local law enforcement planners have chosen to block off during the convention as part of the secured perimeter.
The judge denied all four permits and told the groups to use a different route, proposed by the city of Chicago, according to court filings. (Fox News)

- Abba, we give you praise and glory that the judge in Chicago turned down the anti-Israel protest groups intentions of getting closer to where the Democratic National Convention will be held. We ask You to release your warrior angels to complete this battle against the enemy's intentions to use violence, AGAIN, to come against Your people Israel. We ask Holy Spirit to brood over all of Chicago land, sow into the atmosphere Your peace, calm and rest, stop any intentions of the enemy to bring chaos and upheaval in its tracks. We ask You to move over the DNC delegates, allow this to be a fruitful time of new understandings and awareness of truth and righteousness. Jesus, reveal Yourself to all in attendance who do not know You, change minds and hearts, draw each into Your kingdom and allow Your blessings to flow in their lives. We ask this in the name Jehovah Shalom, The Lord Our Peace.

and peace as you trust in him,

UNC braces as anti-Israel group dubbed 'voice for Hamas' condones 'armed rebellion': 'By any means necessary'
|
|
University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill may see more anti-Israel protests in new school year
|
|
Anti-Israel agitators at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill are vowing resistance "by any means necessary" as the 2024-2025 school year officially begins on Aug. 18.
An unofficial anti-Israel student group called UNC Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), representing Chapel Hill, posted a commitment to "resist by any means necessary" and said it condones "all forms of principled action" in a July 31 Instagram post.
The group, which has received funding from Hamas-linked groups, according to research from the Institute for the Study of Global Antisemitism and Policy, is responding to the arrest of some 40 agitators on campus in May, when they set up an encampment on the school's quad to protest the Israel-Gaza war.
"We will not be silenced. We will not be intimidated," SJP wrote in an Instagram post on their account with more than 14,000 followers. "A group of the defendants has released these points of unity to express their commitment to collective defense, fighting as a unified bloc for ALL their charges to be dropped while not losing sight of the ultimate goal of Palestinian liberation." - Abba, the University of North Carolina--Chapel Hill, needs your help! The enemy is planning to use students along with activists to cause strife and upheaval on this campus in the fall. We ask Holy Spirit to speak to the minds and hearts of the Administration, give Chancellor Roberts great insight, understanding and wisdom in how the University should respond if this group becomes violent. Father God, we ask You to speak to the minds and hearts of all those who are not students but activists, those that aren't even American citizens, allow them to "know" You are God, that they are not, in Jesus' Name. Allow Your power to overshadow them, allow the fear of an angry God to 'scatter Your enemies', in Jesus' Name. For students who have been deceived and brainwashed, we ask You to meet them face to face, show yourself strong and loving, tender and forgiving. We ask this in the name Jehovah Rohi, The Lord Our Shepherd.
- "For surely your enemies, Lord,
surely your enemies will
perish; all evildoers will be scattered." (Psalm 92:9)

EU Warns It May Take Measures Against X Over Musk’s Interview with Trump
|
|
The European Union’s (EU) internal market regulator sent a warning letter to X owner Elon Musk ahead of his interview with former President Donald Trump on the platform, saying that “interim measures” could be taken against the social media site.
On Monday, Thierry Breton, the commissioner for internal market, sent a letter to Musk and X CEO Linda Yaccarino about the Trump broadcast, which occurred on Monday evening.
“With great audience comes greater responsibility,” Breton wrote in the letter, posted on X. “As there is a risk of amplification of potentially harmful content in connection with events with major audience around the world, I sent this letter to [Elon Musk].”
Story continues below advertisement
Regulations under the Digital Services Act (DSA) “apply without exceptions or discrimination to the moderation of the whole user community and content of X (including yourself as a user with over 190 million followers) which is accessible to EU users and should be fulfilled in line with the risk-based approach of the DSA, which requires greater due diligence in case of a foreseeable increase of the risk profile,” Breton wrote.
The interview was accessible to users in the EU, Breton wrote, adding, “In this context, I am compelled to remind you of the due diligence obligations set out in the Digital Services Act.”
“My services and I will be extremely vigilant to any evidence that points to breaches of the DSA and will not hesitate to make full use of our toolbox,” which could include adoption of the interim measures, he said.
Breton did not elaborate on the measures the EU could take. However, in previous warnings to Musk on separate issues, Breton warned that X could be fined up to 6 percent of annual revenue.
X’s chief executive, Linda Yaccarino, responded to the letter by saying that it is an “unprecedented attempt to stretch a law intended to apply in Europe” to target political activity inside the United States.
Musk responded directly to Breton’s letter with a meme that included a vulgar word. Steven Cheung, a spokesman for the Trump campaign, wrote that the EU “should mind their own business” and accused them of attempting to interfere with the U.S. election in November.
The EU, he added, “has no authority of any kind to dictate how we campaign.”
The Epoch Times has contacted the European Commission, the executive branch of the EU, for comment. A spokesperson for the commission told the Financial Times that Breton did not have approval from EU President Ursula von der Leyen to send the letter to Musk.
“The timing and the wording of the letter were neither coordinated or agreed with the president nor with the [commissioners],” the spokesperson said Tuesday. (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

- Abba, Your world, at times, seems upside down! The arrogance of Mr. Breton, the EU internal market regulator trying to interfere with an American corporation, is beyond ridiculous! We give You praise that the truth was spoken by an EU representative, that Mr. Breton was NOT given permission to send the letter at all. We ask Holy Spirit to intervene wherever the enemy is trying to silence free speech in the US and all over the world. Jesus, we ask You to fight for us when demonic forces set up unholy laws that would take away the freedoms You died to give us -- freedom of speech being one of the most precious. We ask You to silence lying voices that try to speak as ones with authority. We ask this in the name El Gibhor, Mighty God, the God who will accomplish the destruction of His enemies and rule with a rod of iron,
- "Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where
the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom." (2 Corinthians 3:17)

A high-level team of Israeli negotiators was set to depart for renewed ceasefire talks in Doha, which are slated to start on Thursday following a major push from international mediators, and are seen as a potential last chance to reach an agreement to pause the war and free hostages in the near future.
As of Wednesday night it remained unclear whether Hamas would be participating in the two-day talks.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office confirmed on Wednesday evening that he had approved sending an Israel delegation to Qatar. The brief statement said that Netanyahu had approved “the mandate for conducting the negotiations,” without elaborating.

2. Iran says it will launch direct attack on Israel if Gaza talks fail - Israel Hayom
Iran's potential retaliation against Israel for the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh hinges on the outcome of Gaza ceasefire-hostage release negotiations, according to senior Iranian officials. The assassination, which occurred during Haniyeh's visit to Tehran, has heightened tensions in the region, with Iran vowing a severe response.
Three Iranian sources, speaking to Reutersanonymously, indicated that Iran and its proxies, including Hezbollah, would consider direct action if Gaza talks fail or if Israel is perceived to be prolonging negotiations. The timeline for such a response remains unspecified.
In response to the escalating situation, the US Navy has deployed warships and a submarine to the Middle East to bolster Israeli defenses. Simultaneously, Iran has engaged in diplomatic discussions with Western countries and the United States to calibrate its response. (Read more)

The Kremlin regards the creation of a Palestinian state as a top priority, Russian President Vladimir Putin told Palestinian Authority chief Mahmoud Abbas during their first in-person encounter since Gaza terrorists carried out the worst single-day massacre of Jews since the Holocaust.
The two men last met in October 2022, on the sidelines of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia in Kazakhstan.

5. UCLA excluding Jews ‘unimaginable, abhorrent,’ per federal judge - JNS
“In the year 2024, in the United States of America, in the State of California, in the City of Los Angeles, Jewish students were excluded from portions of the UCLA campus because they refused to denounce their faith.”
So begins an Aug. 13 order from Mark Scarsi, a judge on the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
“This fact is so unimaginable and so abhorrent to our constitutional guarantee of religious freedom that it bears repeating, Jewish students were excluded from portions of the UCLA campus because they refused to denounce their faith,” Scarsi continued. “UCLA does not dispute this. Instead, UCLA claims that it has no responsibility to protect the religious freedom of its Jewish students because the exclusion was engineered by third-party protesters.” (Read more)

1. Abortion rights ballot measures to go before Missouri and Arizona voters in November - CBS News
Petitions to put abortion rights on the ballot in Missouri and Arizona were officially approved this week, adding to a growing list of states where reproductive rights will be before voters in November.
Both ballot measures would amend their respective state's constitutions to enshrine the right to an abortion after the Supreme Court overturned the nationwide right to abortion in 2022, prompting state-by-state action on the issue.
In Missouri, supporters of abortion rights have been pushing to amend the state constitution to allow abortion in the state, where a near-total ban is currently in place. To qualify for the ballot, roughly 170,000 signatures from six out of eight congressional districts were required. On Tuesday, Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft certified that the petition had enough support to appear on the ballot. (Read more)

2. Break-in at Trump campaign office — unidentified suspect still at large - The Blaze
A caught-on-camera suspect broke into former President Donald Trump's Virginia campaign office over the weekend. The suspect was described by Northern Virginia's Loudoun County Sheriff's Office as a "white adult male, wearing dark clothing, a dark cap, and a backpack."
Surveillance video captured the suspect breaking into the location and walking through the office, according to a sheriff's office spokesperson. The sheriff's office was contacted about the break-in at around 9:00 p.m. on Sunday.
Photographs of the suspect have been released to the public in an attempt to identify him as he remains at large. The images appear to show the man either opening or placing items into his backpack. However, authorities have not confirmed whether anything was taken from the office. (Read more)

3. Abortion Numbers Up Since Roe v. Wade Overturned: Study - Newsweek
In the wake of the Supreme Court's landmark decision to overturn Roe v. Wade in June 2022, abortion rates across the U.S. have slightly increased according to a report released Wednesday.
The quarterly #WeCount report by the Society of Family Planning attributes this increase largely to new laws in Democratic-led states protecting doctors who use telemedicine to provide abortion services in states with bans.
The data arrives at a critical juncture as the November elections approach, with abortion rights expected to be a significant issue for voters.
Several states will see ballot measures offering voters the chance to either enshrine or reject state-level abortion protections. (Read more)

4. Thousands of Noncitizen Registered Voters Discovered, Governor Says - Newsweek
On Wednesday, Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin signed an executive order cementing election security protocols in the state, noting that since he took office Virginia has discovered and removed more than 6,000 noncitizen registered voters from voting rolls.
With the national presidential election less than 90 days away, the GOP is pushing for stricter voter regulations to safeguard election integrity. Voting in a federal election without citizenship is a federal crime that is punishable by imprisonment and fines. There is no significant evidence of widespread noncitizen voting.
After signing the order, Youngkin said, "The Virginia model for Election Security works. This isn't a Democrat or Republican issue, it's an American and Virginian issue. Every legal vote deserves to be counted without being watered down by illegal votes or inaccurate machines." (Read more)

5. Harris campaign admits Walz ‘misspoke’ about past military career as ‘stolen valor’ criticism grows - New York Post
Vice President Harris’ presidential campaign admitted Friday that her running mate, Gov. Tim Walz “misspoke” about his past military service as a growing chorus of critics accuse him of “stolen valor.” “Governor Walz would never insult or undermine any American’s service to this country — in fact, he thanks Senator Vance for putting his life on the line for our country. It’s the American way,” Team Harris said in a statement to NBC News Friday.
“In making the case for why weapons of war should never be on our streets or in our classrooms, the Governor misspoke. He did handle weapons of war and believes strongly that only military members trained to carry those deadly weapons should have access to them, unlike Donald Trump and JD Vance who prioritize the gun lobby over our children.”
Walz had been facing pressure to clarify his military record after a 2018 video surfaced of him touting his career in the National Guard as a reason for increased gun control. (Read more)

6. Home Depot Issues Warning About Economy As Election Nears - Daily Wire
The Home Depot issued a warning about the direction of the U.S. economy as consumers pulled back spending at the home improvement store during the second quarter of fiscal year 2024. The company said its sales decreased by 3.6% during the second quarter and it expects sales overall for the year to drop 3-4% compared to last year.
“During the quarter, higher interest rates and greater macro-economic uncertainty pressured consumer demand more broadly, resulting in weaker spend across home improvement projects,” said Ted Decker, chair, president and CEO. “However, the team continued to navigate this unique environment while executing at a high level.”
CNN noted that consumer spending at Home Depot is considered a bellwether of consumers’ moods about the economy and the housing market in general, as its business is closely tied to the housing market. (Read more)

Stupidocrisy: The Farce of Election Integrity
The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, August 14, 2024
Americans should be concerned about election integrity. If a citizen’s vote is frustrated by a rigged system, then “democracy” is no less a tyranny. There are three areas that will control whether your vote counts in the upcoming presidential election: Whether a state requires voter identification to vote; if voter rolls are up to date; and if ballots can be authenticated. In this constitutional republic only qualified voters are allowed to vote in a presidential election. Those requirements are one must be 18 years of age, an American citizen, meet their state’s residency requirements, and be registered to vote. Some states, as you will see in this analysis, game the system toward democrats.
Currently, there are 15 states that do not require voter identification to cast a vote for president. They are: ME, VT, MA, NY, PA, MD, NJ, IL, MN, NM, NV, CA, OR, WA, HA. These states comprise 207 of the 270 electoral votes needed to secure the presidency. Interesting that all these states are traditional Democratic Party strongholds and have voted for Democratic Party presidential candidates in the past. In addition, states won by Democrats in the last three of four presidential elections or all four of the last four elections are MI, WS, CO, VA, NH. They represent another 51 electoral votes. Before any presidential election even begins, the Democratic Party candidate has an advantage of 258 electoral votes. Read More

Anti-Trump pollster Frank Luntz stuns CNN with shocking admission about former president
|
|
|
In a shocking admission that rattled the far-left establishment, anti-Trump pollster Frank Luntz dropped a bombshell on CNN, admitting that former President Donald Trump is gaining unprecedented support among union workers—an achievement no Republican has managed in decades.
This revelation comes after the United Auto Workers (UAW) union has filed federal labor charges against Trump and tech billionaire Elon Musk, alleging illegal threats against striking workers.
The UAW filed federal labor charges against Trump and Musk, accusing them of attempting to intimidate and threaten workers who engage in protected strikes.
In a statement, the UAW did not hold back, labeling Trump a "scab" and accusing both Trump and Musk of aligning against the interests of working-class Americans. "When we say Donald Trump is a scab, this is what we mean," UAW President Shawn Fain said in a statement. "Donald Trump will always side against workers standing up for themselves, and he will always side with billionaires like Elon Musk."
Frank Luntz's analysis offers a starkly different perspective. Appearing on CNN, Luntz noted that despite the union leadership's loud opposition, Trump's appeal among rank-and-file union members is stronger than ever.
"Donald Trump is doing better among the average union member, not teachers' unions and not the unions for government, but everybody else, the trades, people work with their hands. He's doing better among them than any Republican has done in decades," Luntz asserted, leaving the typically anti-Trump panelists momentarily speechless.
Luntz highlighted the growing divide between union leadership and their membership, suggesting that the louder the leadership rails against Trump, the more they alienate their base.
In his focus groups, Luntz observed an unprecedented level of frustration among union workers toward their own leaders, who they feel are increasingly out of touch with their real-world concerns.
"In my focus groups, and this is remarkable to me, for me. I've been doing this now since, I hate to say this, '1989, 1990. I've never had Union people publicly say, "They don't speak for us," Luntz said. (World Net Daily) Read more.

- Abba, we ask You to continue opening eyes and understandings among union workers of how different their lives were in the Trump Administration as opposed to right now. We ask Holy Spirit to bring understanding and healing of minds and hearts over the words spoken between President Trump and Elon Musk during their conversation. We ask You to bring out into the open the truth of how President Trump feels about unions, allow his true feelings to override any confusion from that conversation. We decree and declare that the intentions of the enemy to create a breach between Your son, Donald and the unions are broken, that the breach will not develop but will fall to the ground. We ask this in the name Jehovah Rapha, The Lord Who Heals.

Ilhan Omar Wins Against Moderate Challenger In Key Primary
|
|
|
Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar won her primary bid against former Minneapolis City Councilman and Board of Education member Don Samuels for Minnesota’s 5th Congressional District on Tuesday, according to The Associated Press.
Omar, who had narrowly defeated Samuels in 2022, won with 56.2% of the vote while her challenger brought in 42.9% of the vote, according to the AP. Omar is the third member of the “squad,” an informal coalition of far-left House members, to be (ousted/challenged) in a primary after Democratic Reps. Jamaal Bowman of New York and Cori Bush of Missouri lost their primaries on June 25 and Aug. 6 respectively.
“I am honored that my community voted to *send me back to Congress*. Tonight’s victory shows that the Fifth District believes in the collective values we are fighting for in Washington,” Omar said in a statement on X.
Although her fellow squad members faced a significant polling disadvantage ahead of their respective primaries, Omar’s footing was on stronger ground. (Daily Caller) Read more.

Without The Certainty Of Truth, People Have No Solid Ground To Endure Deception
|
|
When His disciples asked Jesus to tell them about signs of His return, He started with the words of Mark 13:5. “Take heed lest any man deceive you.” In Matthew 24, we see Jesus giving worlds of information in relatively few words. That doesn’t leave room for a lot of repetition. But in that one chapter, the Lord warned about last days deception four times. That means it’s important.
Revelation 12:9 speaks of Satan deceiving the world during the end times. In chapter 13 and again in chapter 19, we see the False Prophet and Antichrist deceiving the masses, and doing so by Satan’s power. Revelation 20, verses 3, 8, and 10, show Satan deceiving the nations.
It makes sense. In John 8:44, Jesus called Satan the father of lies. Deception follows him, confusion follows deception, and despair follows confusion. You’ve seen dream sequences in films where walls and other solid objects distort and change shape. That’s the world Satan wants people to live in.
Today, we have more opportunity to get the truth out than ever before. The phone in your purse or pocket can potentially reach the world. If your social media post goes viral, millions might see it before the next sunset. But if truth is easily disseminated, so are lies.
Mainstream news outlets no longer tell both sides of a story. Fairness was once standard practice for journalists, but that was before they became activists and propagandists. Now they choose sides, then withhold things from the public that might be seen as favorable to the other side. They spin the rest in favor of their chosen causes and candidates.

Iran's Jesus Revolution? Mosques Close as 1 Million Muslims Accept Christ
|
|
Amid talk of a broader war in the Middle East, there is also news that a Jesus Revolution may be underway. An unprecedented number of Muslims are choosing to follow Christ, especially in Iran as people search for a better life. Iranians are growing tired of the ayatollahs and a nation led by the empty promises of their Islamic theocracy. An anonymous internal poll found that 80% now prefer a democratic government, and many are leaving Islam. "You have a country with one of the highest drug addiction rates in the world. You have a country where corruption runs rampant. You have a country where more than half the people live below the poverty line," explained Todd Nettleton of The Voice of the Martyrs (VOM). "And the people of Iran are looking at this and they are saying, 'Wait a minute. If this is what Islam has brought us in the last 45 years, we're not interested. We want to know what the other options are.'"
According to Nettleton, Vice President of Messaging at VOM, the faith option many are choosing is Jesus with at least a million Muslims reportedly leaving Islam for Christianity. So, how is the regime reacting to this with a reported 50,000 of 75,000 mosques now closed? "This is not something that is making the regime happy. And, really, in many ways, they are seeking to solidify their power and to crush any kind of dissent," Nettleton said. "We have heard multiple stories this year of Bible study, a home church being raided. Everyone there is photographed, everyone there is questioned. But then the leader of the meeting is held on to. They are arrested. They are detained, they're put in prison." Moreover, Nettleton contends family members and friends are more tolerant than the government about leaving Islam. "They kind of have the attitude of, 'Hey, if you found something that works for you, if it's Jesus or if it's atheism or if it's whatever, if it works for you... I know Islam doesn't work, so I'm happy you found something that works,'" he explained. (CBN) Read More

"Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. In Your Name."
