Franklin Graham Sees a Country ‘in Trouble’
|
|
Evangelical leader Franklin Graham has expressed his dismay at the circumstances surrounding the FBI raid on the Mar-a-Largo home of former President Donald Trump, and issued a personal plea on social media for the release of all documents relating to the controversy.
Graham used a post on Facebook to set out his concerns while pleading for God’s intervention alongside prayers for a quick resolution to a matter he sees as poisonous to the national character.

Trump’s favorability reaches new heights following FBI raid
|
|
Former President Donald Trump’s favorability has increased since the FBI raid of his Mar-a-Lago estate last week, according to a poll.
Results from a Morning Consult/Politico survey have shown the raid further energized Trump’s supporters, expanding the former president’s lead over Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) by 10 points with an overall lead of 40 percentage points, if the primary election were to take place today.
With 58% favorability among GOP voters, the poll showed Trump’s highest lead on record since his 2020 presidential election loss. Likewise, 71% of Republicans say Trump should run for president in 2024. (Washington Examiner) Read more here. |

EXCLUSIVE: Ray Epps Told FBI He Expected a Bomb Attack Near the Capitol on January 6, Documents Show

When James Ray Epps Sr. first called the FBI regarding his January 2021 activities in Washington D.C., he didn’t mention how he implored protesters in several locations to go inside the Capitol, but he later told an agent that he expected a bomb would detonate on a side street near the Capitol.
Those are just two of the revelations in a collection of Epps-related material obtained by The Epoch Times, including FBI interview summaries, FBI audio recordings, transcripts, videos, and photographs.
In two interviews with the FBI in 2021, Epps explained his actions on Jan. 5 and Jan. 6. He admitted he was guilty of trespassing on restricted Capitol grounds and confessed to urging protesters to go to—and into—the Capitol on Jan. 6.
Despite the admissions, the FBI never arrested Epps and he was not charged by the U.S. Department of Justice with any Jan. 6 crimes. The non-action has fueled a crop of theories that he might have been working for the FBI or another agency.

1. Three Arab-Israelis charged with planning ISIS attack inside Israel - World Israel News
The Israeli Shin Bet security agency announced Monday afternoon that an indictment has been filed against three Arab Israelis associated with the ISIS terror groupfor a plot to carry out attacks within Israel as well as to join the group’s jihadist activities abroad.
Following a months-long investigation, Muhammad Farouk Yosef Agbaria, 21, and Abdel Mahdi Masoud Muhammad Jabarin, 21, were arrested in July 2022.
Both residents of Umm al-Fahm, an Arab city in northern Israel, Jabarin was previously investigated by authorities over his links to ISIS.
According to the indictment, Agbaria and Jabarin plotted to carry out a terror attack in Israel under the auspices of ISIS. (Read more)

2. Alliance of former IDF chiefs threatens Netanyahu's return to power - YNET News
Lt. Gen. (res.) Gadi Eisenkot, former chief of staff of the Israel Defense Forces, announced Sunday he is joining the political party headed by Defense Minister Benny Gantz and Justice Minister Gideon Sa'ar, and will compete for a spot in the legislature in the November 1 elections.
Eisenkot, who commanded the Israeli military in 2015-2019, succeeding Gantz in the post, will be No. 3 on the Knesset candidates list, a joint run by Gantz’s Blue and White party and Sa’ar’s New Hope party rebranded as the National Unity party, although a more literal translation would be the “State Camp.”
Eisenkot, 62, retired from the military in January 2019 after more than 40 years of service. He had been considering joining the political world for over two years, having recently also negotiated with Yair Lapid and his Yesh Atid party. (Read more)

Alternate Prime Minister Naftali Bennett was a partner this evening (Monday) in the move that marked the end of the Yamina party.
Bennett, a friend of Matan Kahana and Shirley Pinto, joined them in splitting from the Yamina faction, solely so that Kahana could run within the 'State Camp' party led by Defense Minister Benny Gantz, Justice Minister Gideon Sa'ar and former Chief of Staff Gadi Eisenkot.
The unusual step was taken after the coalition sabotaged MK Idit Silman's split and she retracted her agreement to approve Kahana's split from the party. (Read more)

4. Israeli Army Shuts Down Hamas Attack Tunnel, Thwarting Cross-Border Infiltrations From Gaza - Algemeiner
The Israeli army announced on Monday that it exposed and shut down an attack underground tunnel dug by the Hamas terror organization from the northern Gaza Strip toward Israeli territory.
The tunnel, which was dug from inside Gaza city, served as a passage for Hamas militants to try and infiltrate Israeli communities and attack innocent civilians living around the coastal enclave, according to the IDF.
“The IDF Gaza Division has been operating in recent weeks to neutralize this Hamas terrorist tunnel,” said IDF outgoing Commanding Officer of the Gaza Division, BG Nimrod Aloni. “We are speaking about an attack tunnel with two separate routes that crossed into Israeli territory but did not cross the new underground concrete sensory barrier.” (Read more)

1. Biden signs $739 billion Inflation Reduction Act into law - Fox News
President Biden signed the Inflation Reduction Act into law on Tuesday, saying "the American people won, and the special interests lost" with the new legislation and touting Democratic support while slamming Republicans for not backing the bill.
The president returned to the White House after a week-long vacation in Kiawah Island, South Carolina. Biden was joined by House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer during an event in the State Dining Room at the White House.
"With this law, the American people won, and the special interests lost," Biden said Tuesday. "This administration began amid a dark time in America … a once-in-a-century pandemic, devastating joblessness, clear and present threats to democracy and the rule of law, doubts about America's future itself — and yet we've not wavered, we've not flinched, and we've not given in."

2. FBI interviewed Trump's top White House lawyers about secret missing documents - Washington Examiner
The FBI interviewed Pat Cipollone and Patrick Philbin, two top White House lawyers under former President Donald Trump, in connection to sensitive documents that were kept at the former president’s Mar-a-Lago residence after he left office, according to reports.
Philbin, the former deputy counsel to the president, was interviewed by the agency sometime in the spring after the National Archives retrieved about 15 boxes of material from Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence earlier this year, sources familiar with the situation told the New York Times. The National Archives contends those documents were presidential records that should have been given to the agency when Trump left office.
It’s not clear when Cipollone was interviewed by the agency, the outlet reported. However, the two being interviewed marks the highest-ranking Trump officials to be interviewed by investigators since the documents were discovered. (Read more)

3. Garland Waited Weeks to Approve Warrant for Mar-a-Lago Search - Brietbart
While the establishment media suggested “classified documents relating to nuclear weapons were among the items the FBI” sought in the raid of Mar-a-Lago, it took weeks for Garland to make up his mind on whether to approve the warrant, the Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday.
“The decision had been the subject of weeks of meetings between senior Justice Department and FBI officials, the people said,” the Journal reported. “The warrant allowed agents last Monday to seize classified information and other presidential material from Mar-a-Lago.”
After the raid and significant public pressure, the Justice Department filed a motion in court to release the FBI’s property receipt of the 28 inventory items federal agents seized. Magistrate Judge Bruce Reinhart agreed to make the search warrant public the next day. (Read more)

4. Trump spy chief rejects DOJ argument on keeping Mar-a-Lago affidavit secret - Washington Examiner
Former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe argued in favor of releasing the underlying affidavit for the FBI raid of Mar-a-Lago last week.
The Trump-era spy chief made the case Monday night during an appearance on Fox News, not going as far as former President Donald Trump's call for the "completely unredacted" release of the affidavit, but rejecting an argument made by the Justice Department against unsealing it even with redactions.
"It’s garbage to say that that information couldn’t be redacted so that the remainder of the affidavit that is so important to establishing probable cause is something that we can see," Ratcliffe told host Laura Ingraham. (Read more)

5. Tucker Carlson: Trump ‘obviously’ going to be indicted - The Hill
Fox News host Tucker Carlson predicted former President Trump will be indicted following a search at his Florida residence last week carried out by the FBI in connection with an investigation into classified information reportedly taken from the White House.
“There’s nothing to see here, that’s the line,” Carlson said on his show Monday, naming a number of elected Republicans who he predicted will “say the same thing when the Biden Justice Department or some other state agency under their influence finally does what you know they’re going to do, and that’s indict Donald Trump.”

6. Trump Team Drops Email Proving FBI Wrongly Seized Passports - Brietbart
Donald Trump’s legal team demolished the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) media spin that denied having the former president’s passports in their possession following the FBI’s raid on Mar-a-Lago last week. On Monday, former President Trump claimed on his social media site TruthSocial that the FBI “stole” his passports during the raid that shook the political world last week.
Taylor Budowich, the former president’s communications director, shared an email from Jay Bratt, the top counterintelligence official in the Justice Department’s national security division, confirming that three passports were seized in the raid and that they would be returned to the former president soon.
“We have learned that the filter agents seized three passports belonging to President Trump, two expired and one being his active diplomatic passport. We are returning them, and they will be ready for pick up at WFO at 2 PM today,” the email to Trump’s attorneys read. (Read more)

7. FBI locates 121 missing kids, child trafficking victims in nationwide operation - The Hill
The FBI announced on Monday that it has located up to 121 missing children and child trafficking victims in a nationwide sting operation. In a news release, the agency said that its “Operation Cross Country” initiative helped locate more than 200 victims of human trafficking and related crimes during the first two weeks of this month.
Operation Cross Country is a coordinated effort among the FBI and other federal, state and local agencies to help find or assist victims of human trafficking. One hundred and forty-one adult victims were also found through the agency’s initiative, bringing the active total of victims located by authorities this year as part of Cross Country to 391. 8. Healthcare Workers Denied Religious Exemptions to Receive $10 Million in Vaccine Mandate Settlement - Brietbart
Healthcare workers at NorthShore University Health System in Illinois are expected to receive $10.3 million in a “first-of-its-kind” class action settlement over the hospital’s coronavirus vaccine mandate, the Washington Examiner reported Monday.
The lawsuit was brought by 13 employees because the hospital “unlawfully discriminated against and denied religious exemptions from the COVID shot mandate, according to Liberty Counsel, which represented the employees. Liberty Counsel says it works to advance “religious freedom, the sanctity of human life and the family through strategic litigation.”
The state’s Northern District Court reached a settlement agreement on July 29, meaning NorthShore will compensate roughly 500 health care employees “who were victims of religious discrimination, and who were punished for their religious beliefs against taking an injection associated with aborted fetal cells,” Liberty Counsel stated. FBI, CDC, Inflation Deception

As a journalist, we used to be taught not to speculate on news stories. That premise, however, seems to be lost in these days of 24-hour a day news. Notwithstanding, looking deeper into the events of the past two weeks, one can extrapolate a pattern designed to maintain control and power of a strong centralized government AND secure the elections to perpetuate the growing absolute power of government. It is a complicated, yet intentional, web of events orchestrated by those in control, primarily members of the Democratic Party and some Republicans who empathize with the socialist, even fascist, agenda of the extreme left. The agencies hey control reach far beyond elections and threaten your freedom.
When the so-called “Inflation Reduction Act” was called out by reputable economic analysts for not reducing inflation or the budget deficit as advertised, but rather was a tax increase on businesses and the middle income, all of a sudden there is a needless FBI raid on the former President. At the same time, the Centers for Disease Control revised its COVID protocols, essentially admitting that the vaccines didn’t work as planned. Now there is no difference between the vaccinated and unvaccinated because there “are breakthrough infections” and unvaccinated people who have had COVID “have some degree of protection.” No longer is anyone required to quarantine if they have symptoms. Geomagnetic storm watches are in effect for 17-19 August, 2022 due to likely CH HSS and CME influences. A recurrent coronal hole (CH) high speed stream (HSS) is anticipated to connect with Earth first, on 17 Aug. The resultant elevated and disturbed solar wind field is thought to be enough for potential G1 (Minor) geomagnetic storm conditions on 17 Aug. Geomagnetic responses are likely to escalate to G3 (Strong) conditions on 18 Aug due to the arrival at or near Earth of multiple coronal mass ejections (CMEs) that have departed the Sun since 14 Aug. Despite the numerous CMEs, most are expected to have little to no impact at Earth, however, at least four have potential Earth-directed components. The most recent flare-associated CME took place from small, but complex, Region 3078 at 3:58 am EDT (0758 UTC) on 16 Aug; while the first CME in this chain of activity took place on 14 Aug. Forecast confidence is low to moderate regarding Earth impact of these CMEs, as most of the ejecta is expected to pass either ahead or south of Earth’s orbit. However, model runs indicate combined arrival of some of these CMEs at or in the vicinity of Earth beginning 18 Aug – therefore, the G3 (Strong) storm watch is in effect for that day. Any CME influences are likely to continue on 19 Aug and a G2 (Moderate) storm watch is posted accordingly.
When the CME approaches Earth, NOAA’s DSCOVR satellite will be among the first spacecraft to detect the real-time solar wind changes and SWPC forecasters will issue any appropriate warnings. Impacts to our technology from a G3 storm are usually minimal. However, a G3 storm has the potential to drive the aurora further away from its normal polar residence, and if other factors come together, the aurora might be seen over portions of Pennsylvania, Iowa, to northern Oregon. Damaging floods submerge West Virginia towns
|
|
|
A state of emergency was declared in two counties after 100 homes were heavily damaged, with one county deluged with more rain than normally seen through all of August.
The governor of West Virginia declared a state of emergency in two counties Monday after record-setting rainfall caused significant flash flooding overnight, damaging over 100 homes in Kanawha County, washing out bridges and prompting a number of water rescues.
Floodwaters rushed into the county Sunday evening into Monday morning, with some areas of Kanawha receiving up to 6 inches of rain in a short period of time. As of 9 a.m. EDT Monday, more than 500 emergency calls had come into the local 911 line, with 130 calls dispatched for service, including 25 for water rescues, according to county officials.
"In just a few hours we surpassed our total rainfall in the last month," Kent Carper, president of the county commission, said.
Charleston's Yeager Airport measured 4.44 inches of rain from 5:30 p.m. EDT Sunday to 5 a.m. EDT Monday, with 3.97 inches falling in just four hours, eclipsing the average monthly rainfall for August of only 3.75 inches. Also, Monday's rainfall of 3.54 inches broke the longtime previous record of 1.66 inches for Aug. 15, set in 1950, according to the National Weather Service. Read More

Biden administration exempts religious schools from LGBTQ mandate on lunch funding
|
|
Private religious schools won’t be required to comply with the Biden administration’s gender mandate to qualify for student-lunch funding under a newly released exemption. The Agriculture Department issued a fact sheet Friday stating that all religious schools will be automatically exempted from its May 5 guidance linking the National School Lunch Program to the administration’s gender-identity requirements on hiring, restrooms, sports and dress codes.
“Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 (‘Title IX’) is a federal law that prohibits sex discrimination by educational institutions receiving financial assistance from the federal government, including USDA,” said the USDA statement.
“Although this prohibition applies to a wide array of public and private schools at the K-12 and the college/university level, the law includes some exceptions, including one permitting an institution to be exempt on religious grounds if there is a conflict between Title IX and a school’s governing religious tenets,” the fact sheet said. The clarification came after the Alliance Defending Freedom sued the Biden administration last month on behalf of the Grant Park Christian Academy in Tampa, Florida, alleging that the USDA guidance required the school to “violate its religious beliefs or stop providing lunches to children.”
The USDA granted an exemption last week to Grant Park Christian Academy for its 56 low-income students qualifying for free meals under the federal program, but the Friday statement extends the exception to religious schools nationwide. ADF legal counsel Erica Steinmiller-Perdomo said “we are pleased to see the administration grant not only that Christian school’s request, but rightly honor the religious beliefs of every other religious school in the country.”
“While it shouldn’t have taken a federal lawsuit, at least now, all religious schools like Grant Park Christian Academy who rely on the USDA’s funding to continue serving nutritious meals to kids in need can continue this vital service in their communities,” she said in a statement.
