Here’s what to know about the Hawaii fires.
Emergency workers continued to seek survivors early Thursday among the smoky ruins of Lahaina, a historic Hawaiian tourist town on the island of Maui, where a fast-burning wildfire fueled in part by winds from a distant hurricane claimed at least 36 lives.
The fire, one of the nation’s deadliest in decades, forced officials on Maui to evacuate 11,000 tourists, the lifeblood of the local economy. Flames burned with such intensity that at least a dozen people escaped into the Pacific Ocean, where they were later rescued by the U.S. Coast Guard. Firefighters continued to battle flare-ups into Thursday morning.
“With lives lost and properties decimated, we are grieving with each other during this inconsolable time,” Maui’s mayor, Richard Bissen, said in a video posted on Facebook.

Officials have strongly discouraged people from traveling to Maui while the crisis continues. Another 1,500 tourists were expected to leave on Thursday, with buses ferrying visitors to the island’s Kahului Airport.

Wildfires have become more intense and frequent in the American West and beyond because of climate change, with even Hawaii battling a surge in recent years. The fires this week appeared to have been exacerbated by winds linked to a hurricane passing hundreds of miles away in the Pacific Ocean, though the exact causes were still unclear. #2 Credit card debt has surpassed the one trillion dollar mark for the first time ever as struggling American households increasingly turn to credit cards to get by from month to month...Americans increasingly turned to their credit cards to make ends meet heading into the summer, sending aggregate balances over $1 trillion for the first time ever, the New York Federal Reserve reported Tuesday.
Total credit card indebtedness rose by $45 billion in the April-through-June period, an increase of more than 4%. That took the total amount owed to $1.03 trillion, the highest gross value in Fed data going back to 2003.

1. Israeli delegation heading to UN amid Lebanon border tensions - JNS
A delegation of senior Israeli officials from the diplomatic corps and the military will visit the United Nations in the coming days to discuss the recent escalation at the Lebanon border.
The trip to U.N. headquarters in New York also comes ahead of a Security Council vote at the end of the month to extend the mandate for the UNIFIL peacekeeping force in southern Lebanon for another year.
Foreign Ministry and IDF officials will meet with U.N. Security Council member states. Brig. Gen. Effie Defrin, head of the IDF’s International Cooperation Division, will accompany the delegation.
The Iran-backed Lebanese terrorist group Hezbollah has carried out a series of hostile acts at the frontier in recent months, including setting up a manned outpost in April a few meters on the Israeli side of the Blue Line border but beyond the Israeli security fence. 2. In Israel, House Democrats reaffirm ‘solidarity with the Jewish state’ - JNS
Two dozen Democrats from the U.S. House of Representatives—led by House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) and Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-Md.)—are in Israel for a six-day trip that started earlier this week, sponsored by the American Israel Education Foundation, a charitable organization affiliated with the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC).
The Democratic Congress members “reaffirm our commitment to the special relationship between the United States and Israel, one anchored in our shared democratic values and mutual geopolitical interests,” Jeffries stated ahead of the trip, which is his 20th to the Jewish state.
“The delegation will explore a variety of pressing issues, including the effort to prevent Iran from becoming nuclear capable, prospects for a two-state solution, the ongoing judicial reform debate, combating terror and the development of the Abraham Accords,” according to the release. (Read more)

3. ‘Channel 14’ accuses business moguls of conspiring to cancel it - JNS
The Israel Competition Authority confirmed to JNS that it received a request from Channel 14, Israel’s only conservative television station with a news department, to investigate possible illegal coordination by major Israeli businesses to drop the station from their advertising budgets in an effort to shutter it.
Several companies have banded together to “break the channel financially” because they disapprove of its political positions, the station’s owners said, calling it an assault on free speech.
In a letter to the station’s employees this week, Netanel Siman Tov, a representative of the station’s owners, wrote: “A phenomenon in which capitalists use economic terror to limit freedom of expression and impose a political agenda on journalists belongs to dark regimes. It has no place in a democracy, of which a free press is its lifeblood.” (Read more)

4. Israel rescues some 200 citizens and Jews from Ethiopia conflict region - Times of Israel
Israel extracted some 200 citizens and local Jews from conflict zones in Ethiopia Thursday, the Foreign Ministry and Prime Minister’s Office announced, amid fighting in the African country’s northern Amhara region.
According to a joint statement, Israel rescued 174 Israelis and Ethiopians eligible to immigrate from the city of Gondar in Amhara, home to thousands of Ethiopians waiting for permission to move to Israel.
Another 30 Israelis were rescued from Amhara’s capital city of Bahir Dar. (Read more)

5. Citing Safety Concerns, Ukrainian Authorities Urge Hasidic Visitors to Avoid Traditional Rosh Hashanah Pilgrimage - Algemeiner
The authorities in the Ukrainian city of Uman have called on Hasidic pilgrims to forego this year’s traditional homage at the tomb of Rabbi Nachman of Breslov, the revered founder of the Breslover Hasidim, which takes place on the occasion of Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year.
Despite the perilous security situation amid the ongoing Russian invasion, hundreds of Hasidim are expected to make the pilgrimage between Sept. 15-17, when Jews around the world celebrate Rosh Hashanah, to Uman, which lies in the south of the country in the Cherkasy region.
Uman was once home to a thriving Jewish community that was decimated during the Nazi Holocaust. Since the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991, several Orthodox families have moved to the city. In 2021 — a few months before Russia launched its invasion — more than 30,000 Hasidim spent Rosh Hashanah in the city, while last year, more than 23,000 visited despite the fighting, according to the United Jewish Community of Ukraine.

2. VAERS Data Shows 1 in 1000 COVID Jab Recipients is now Dead – Pandemic News
So far, the data contained in the government-run Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) conclusively shows that far more people have died from Wuhan coronavirus (Covid-19) “vaccines” than the government admits. In about 30 seconds, investigator Steve Kirsch was able to query VAERS and determine based on the “onset curve” that at least 676,000 Americans have died from Fauci Flu shots. This translates to one death per 1,000 doses of injection given.
This estimate takes into account the fact that some of the vaccines had a double initial dose while others were single dose. No matter how you look at it, these things are far deadlier than anyone is being told, except by people like Kirsch who are reporting on it independently.
According to Kirsch, a shocking 72 percent of the IUS death reports in the entire 33-year history of VAERS even being a thing are all from one category of vaccine: the covid jabs.

3. US Border Crisis Persists: Thousands of Migrants Continue to Cross Daily Despite the Summer Heat – NewsTarget
The United States' border crisis is still ongoing, and recent data shows that crossing along the border with Mexico actually increased despite the summer heat.
U.S. Border Patrol agents stationed in the Tucson sector, which covers most of Arizona's border with Mexico and parts of the Sonoran Desert, have reported a large number of migrants arriving daily. On some days, the number of new illegals soars to 1,900 – an increase of 134 percent from an average of 812 daily new migrants in June.
Despite temperatures in most areas of Arizona's desert sometimes surpassing 110 degrees each day, illegal immigrants, including families with young children, are still traversing the desert in large groups. On many occasions, Border Patrol agents note that large groups are accompanied by smugglers. (Read more)

4. AI Can Steal Your Passwords Just by Listening to you Type – NewsTarget
The capabilities of artificial intelligence are growing every day, and now researchers are sounding the alarm bell about its ability to listen to your keystrokes when you are typing in a password in order to access your accounts.
Researchers at Cornell University programmed an artificial intelligence (AI) computer system to listen to the sounds of people typing the keys on a keyboard on a phone call and a Zoom call. For the study, they used a MacBook Pro and pressed all of the letters and numbers 25 times with different fingers and varying amounts of pressure.
The AI system quickly started to distinguish between the individual sounds made by typing each key. Soon afterward, it was able to identify which key was being pressed
based on its sound alone with 95 percent accuracy in phone calls and 93 percent accuracy in Zoom. (Read more)

5. Ukrainian Church Leader Given 5 Years in Prison for Being Seen as Sympathetic to Russia – ZeroHedge
In yet another example highlighting the Zelensky's governmen's stance on "religious freedom" and democratic rights, a senior clergyman of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church has been sentenced to five years in prison after he was accused of justifying Russian aggression against Ukraine. Regional media has identified the bishop as Metropolitan Jonathan of Tulchin. The dominant Orthodox church in Ukraine to which he belongs—which has frequently criticized the Russian invasion but has not broken communion with the Moscow Patriarchate

6. House GOP to subpoena Biden family: 'Bank records don't lie,' Rep. Comer says - Fox Business
President Biden and his son Hunter may have their day in court as the House Oversight Committee prepares to subpoena the father-and-son duo amid the ongoing probe into the family's business dealings.
Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., joined "Mornings with Maria" on Thursday to discuss the latest fallout from the Biden family business probe, telling host Maria Bartiromo that the House Oversight Committee plans to subpoena the Bidens.
"We're putting together a case, and I think we've done that very well," Comer expressed. "We know that this is going to end up in court when we subpoena the Bidens," he added.
The GOP-led committee released new Biden family bank records showing that the Bidens took in at least $20 million from countries such as Russia, Kazakhstan and Ukraine.
"I wish the media would ask the president, what exactly did your family do to receive this $21 million that the House Oversight Committee has proven? He just continues to say, 'well, that's a lie. That's not true.' We have their bank records, Maria. Bank records don't lie," Comer said. (Read more)

7. Poland plans to move around 10,000 troops to border with Belarus - CNN
Poland is planning to move around 10,000 troops to its eastern border with Belarus amid mounting concerns over Wagner forces in the region. Wagner troops have been stationed within Belarus – a close ally of Russia – in the wake of a short-lived rebellion carried out by the group.
The Polish Defense Minister, Mariusz Blaszczak, told public radio that while 10,000 soldiers will be on the border, 4,000 will directly support the border guard and the remaining 6,000 will be in reserve.
Explaining the move, Blaszczak cited alleged violations of Polish air space by two military aircraft, accusations Belarus called “far-fetched. The violation of Polish space by Belarusian helicopters cannot be underestimated because of the Belarusian approach,” Blaszczak said, calling it another provocation. “Everything that is happening in Belarus is coordinated with the actions of Russian,” he said. 8. Niger: Many African presidents will be assassinated, third world war will begin – Primate Ayodele - Daily Post Nigeria
The leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has warned that some African presidents would be assassinated.
Ayodele warned the Chairman of the Economic Community Of West African States, ECOWAS, President Bola Tinubu, that declaring war on the Niger Republic would lead to the assassination of many African presidents.
In a statement he signed, Primate Ayodele warned that no African country would be able to survive the heat if the war against the coup plotters began.
Ayodele said the attack against the Niger Republic would lead to the downfall of Tinubu’s government. He explained that Nigeria doesn’t have the capacity to execute the war.
Ayodele warned that the United State, US, and NATO are only deceiving Nigeria and African nations. ‘’Americans are deceiving us, NATO is deceiving us, and there is nothing they want to give us other than destroying Nigeria and Africa at large.
‘’No African country will survive the heat if the war against Niger Republic coupist successfully starts. The plan is to assassinate as many African presidents as possible. The war is more than what they think it is, it’s a way more serious.’’ (Read more)

With all the bad news in the headlines and on TV, you are bombarded every day with negativity. If you watch much TV, you are also barraged with drug commercials and what would have been considered in the 1950s as pornography. It’s a good guess that not many people in this country like the direction in which it’s headed. The liberals hate anything and anyone who disagrees with them. Conservatives just want to see the country back on a reasonable economic, ethical and moral track. Atheists and nihilists are combative about what others believe. Many Christians just roll up into their own little reality of waiting for things to happen rather than taking action. It’s a confusing and perilous time we live in. Sometimes it’s too much.
Life comes at us fast these days. Just a few days ago, it was Monday. Then Sunday is here. Seems like yesterday. Cars move fast. People move fast. There are fast talkers. Just to listen to them can wear a body out. Do you ever feel like you need to take a break? Maybe you do. Maybe it is a good time to take a break. I don’t mean checking out of life. But finding some time each day in your schedule to clear your mind, focus on your mental and spiritual health. For my wife, she takes a spiritual break by studying the Bible. I can walk by her while she is doing her morning devotional and she doesn’t know I’m in the room. She begins her day with the Lord and that energizes her. Read More

OK Gov Signs 'Women's Bill of Rights' to Protect Girls from 'Out-of-Control Gender Ideology'

Oklahoma Republican Gov. Kevin Stitt has signed an executive order defining the words "female" and "male" for state agencies to correspond with a person's birth gender. The order also includes definitions for the words "man," "boy," "woman," "girl," "father" and "mother." The document specifically defines a female as a "person whose biological reproductive system is designed to produce ova" and a male as a "person whose biological reproductive system is designed to fertilize the ova of a female." It also directs schools and other state agencies to use these definitions when collecting vital statistics and further directs schools to provide dedicated restrooms and locker room facilities for boys and girls, respectively.
Stitt signed the executive order surrounded by female doctors, athletes, and business leaders, including Riley Gaines, a former University of Kentucky swimmer who took her fight for fairness in women's sports all the way to the U.S. Senate. As CBN News reported in June, Gaines testified at a Senate hearing, raising the issue of women's rights as she spoke about competing with trans swimmer Lia Thomas, and the shocking experience of having to share the same dressing room with a biological male."Today we're taking a stand against this out-of-control gender ideology that is eroding the very foundation of our society," Stitt said as he signed the order. "We are going to be safeguarding the very essence of what it means to be a woman. "Oklahomans are fed up with attempts to confuse the word 'woman' and turn it into some kind of ambiguous definition that harms real women," the governor added.
