Ohio voters side with abortion lobby, defeat proposal backed by pro-lifers

Ohio voters shot down Issue 1 by a wide margin on Tuesday, August 8, in a special election. The proposal, backed by abortion supporters, had received 57% of the vote with 96% of the precincts counted at 11 p.m. ET.

Issue 1 would have changed the process to amend the Ohio constitution by raising the threshold from a simple 50% plus one majority vote to a 60% requirement. Thanks to Issue 1’s defeat, pro-lifers will have an uphill battle against the proposal, which a USA TODAY/Suffolk University poll shows is supported by 58% of Ohioans.

The abortion lobby, which strongly fought to defeat the measure, reportedly had a massive three-to-one fundraising edge.

“What’s right is right, regardless of the outcome of any election,” CatholicVote co-founder Josh Mercer told LifeSite via email. “We know it is our duty to keep our heads high and to march on against attacks on human dignity.”

Abortion in Ohio is currently legal until 22 weeks of pregnancy. In 2019, GOP Gov. Mike DeWine signed a heartbeat law that banned abortions around six weeks. However, a judge blocked that measure indefinitely. The Ohio Supreme Court is expected to hear the case imminently. The Akron Beacon Journal has reported that Ohio currently has nine abortion clinics, down from 23 in 2010. (LifeSite News) Read more here.

- Abba, these circumstances break our hearts, and we are sure yours too.  The enemy has hardened the hearts of so many mothers against their own children, that aborting them seems to be an everyday event in our society.  Yet, your word says that the Kingdom of Heaven is like little children whose hearts are pure.  We say NO MORE!  No more sacrificing of our children on the altar of convenience and money.  Father God, we ask you to move in power in the state of Ohio and in our nation, release your warrior angels in the heavenlies to do battle for your babies and for the hearts of each mother faced with this type of decision.

We decree and declare that Satan, the enemy of our souls, will no longer have power to deceive and convince hearts that their actions have no consequences.  Jesus your word says that no evil action goes unpunished.  We ask you to release a Spirit of Conviction over all women whose intentions are to abort their baby, speak to them as they sleep and bring your truth into their minds and hearts.  We ask this for all people involved with this horrendous, heinous business, make them know they will answer to you for every baby aborted with their knowledge.  We ask this in Jesus mighty name!  AMEN

- "And this is what the Lord says:  "If the innocent must suffer,
how much more must you!  You shall not go unpunished

Texas rescues more than 900 smuggled children at southern border
State troopers are also arresting criminals, including sex offenders and those in possession of child pornography.

Through Texas’ border security mission Operation Lone Star, Texas DPS troopers have rescued over 900 children being smuggled into and through Texas from Mexico by human traffickers, DPS Lt. Chris Olivarez recently announced.

Among them was a recent rescue in Maverick County in Eagle Pass, Texas, where troopers found a five-year-old Honduran girl who’d been smuggled into Texas by three adult women who weren’t related to her. The women found the girl in Piedras Negras, Mexico, and then brought her with them as they crossed illegally into Texas between the ports of entry.

Authorities said she was being brought to reunite with her mother; however, her mother had died three days prior. The girl told troopers her father was still in Honduras. She was turned over to Border Patrol.

DPS troopers are also arresting criminals, including sex offenders and those in possession of child pornography. A DPS brush team recently helped arrest a Mexican national and coyote who was illegally in the U.S. after he guided four people across the Rio Grande River into Texas. On the coyote’s phone were pictures and video of child pornography. The Texas Rangers took over the case, and the Mexican national was charged with possession or promotion of child pornography.

DPS troopers are also identifying MS-13 gang members who are hiding in family units as they illegally cross into Texas. In a recent case, DPS Criminal Investigations Division troopers assisted Border Patrol agents with a large family group after they illegally crossed the Rio Grande River in Eagle Pass. They noticed an adult male from El Salvador trying to conceal himself in the group and apprehended him.

Using facial recognition, they identified him as a possible national security threat with ties to transnational organized crime as well as confirmed he was an MS-13 gang member with eight prior apprehensions and a street-level drug dealer. He was turned over to Border Patrol.

Since Gov. Greg Abbott launched Operation Lone Star over two years ago, they’ve apprehended over 401,900 illegal foreign nationals and made more than 32,400 criminal arrests, with more than 29,600 felony charges reported, according to data from the governor’s office. (Just the News) Read more here.

- Abba, we give you praise and glory for the 900 kids, your kids, that were rescued out of the hands of evil people by Operation Lone Star.  Father God, we ask for continued supernatural vision and insight as these men and women work tirelessly to rescue all those being trafficked over our southern border.  We ask for supernatural exposure, that what is hidden in vehicles and within large groups will be brought into the light by the Holy Spirit.  We decree and declare that what satan has intended for evil you will bring to good. We ask this in the name El Roi, The God who Sees.  AMEN

- "For everything that is hidden will eventually
   be brought into the open,
and every secret will be brought
  into the light."

Court Records Show Hunter Biden Received Millions From China, CCP Affiliates

Court records from Hunter Biden’s imperiled plea deal with the Department of Justice (DOJ) divulge details on more than $2.6 million the first son received from China and affiliates of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

Earlier, the DOJ announced a plea agreement with Mr. Biden, President Joe Biden’s son, whereby he would plead guilty to two misdemeanor tax crimes and would have a felony gun charge diverted.

During a July 26 hearing on his plea deal with the DOJ, Mr. Hunter Biden admitted to having received money from the Chinese energy firm CEFC. In exhibit 1 of his plea agreement, prosecutors went more in-depth on transactions between the first son, Chinese companies, and CCP affiliates.

Income received from such sources is listed as at least $2.6 million in all, however the total is likely substantially higher due to the combined way some of his income was listed in the document. Mr. Hunter Biden’s total income from foreign companies between 2017 and 2018 is confirmed by the sworn statement to have totaled roughly $4.9 million, in addition to $1 million in legal services for a CCP-affiliated Chinese national.

Though past reporting had already divulged information about Mr. Hunter Biden’s business dealings in China, the document, signed by the younger Biden himself, means that he has now affirmed having received such income under penalty of perjury. (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

Lord God, we thank You that You are, indeed, answering our prayers that all hidden things be revealed in this matter, and that, in the end, justice would be done.
Thank You, Lord! Amen and amen!

FOCUS ON ISRAEL

1. Netanyahu was not invited to White House, confirms US spokesman - World Israel News

The Biden administration on Wednesday appeared to deny Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s recent claims made in interviews with U.S. networks that he was invited by President Joe Biden to the White House.

In a phone briefing with journalists, White House National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby stated that while a meeting between Biden and Netanyahu would likely take place later this year, no specific location had been set.

“We still anticipate that the president will meet with Prime Minister Netanyahu sometime in the latter part of this year in the fall, and [that] it’ll be somewhere in the United States,” Kirby said.

Kirby hinted at a possible rendezvous at the sidelines of UN General Assembly in September, which both leaders are set to attend. However, this proposed meeting would likely be one among several engagements for the U.S. president during the week, making it notably different from the high-profile Oval Office encounter that Netanyahu might be expecting. (Read more)

2. High Court issues procedural injunction against government’s reasonableness law - Times of Israel

The High Court of Justice issued an injunction against the government on Wednesday evening, requiring it to explain why the petitions against its controversial reasonableness law should not be struck down by the court.

The type of injunction issued by the court is often seen as switching the burden of explanation from requiring the petitioner to demonstrate why its petition should be accepted, to requiring the respondent to show why it should not be accepted.

In its Wednesday decision, however, the court wrote explicitly that it was issuing the injunction “for the purpose of efficiently dealing with the petitions, and for those reasons alone, without there being any expression of a position on the subject matter itself.” (Read more)

3. Despite grave manpower crisis, IDF releasing dozens of officers from career service - Israel Hayom

Despite the severe manpower crisis in the IDF as well as the profound lack of officers at the captain and major rank levels, the military is being forced to "fire" dozens of officers for whom there are no replacements.

This is due to an agreement reached with the Finance Ministry that came into effect in 2016, according to which career officers now have to pass through two organizational gateways before they are awarded permanent tenure, which guarantees them eventual retirement with a bridging pension.

The first gateway comes at the age of 28 and the second at the age of 35. A process of performance appraisal is conducted at each organizational gateway for the specific career officer, and then subsequently a decision is made whether or not to enable that officer to continue serving or to let him go. (Read more)

4. Seven injured in accident in Samaria - Israel National News

Seven people were injured, three of them moderately, in a collision between three vehicles on Highway 5, near the Giti Avishar intersection in Samaria, on Wednesday evening.

Magen David Adom paramedics treated the victims and evacuated them to Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva. Some of them were trapped in the vehicles and needed to be extracted from the vehicles with the assistance of fire and rescue forces.

In another accident on Wednesday evening, ten people were injured, two of them moderately, when two vehicles collided on Highway 6 near the Ben Shemen interchange in central Israel.(Read more)

5. Legal Group Seeks Removal of ‘Blood Libel’ Book from Princeton University Course - Algemeiner

The International Legal Forum (ILF), a nonprofit organization based in Tel Aviv which advocates for equality in Israel and the Middle East, on Sunday asked Princeton University to remove from the syllabus of a Department of Near Eastern Studies course a book that accuses the Israeli Defense Forces of “maiming” Palestinians and harvesting their organs.

Students in the class are assigned Rutgers University professor Jasbir Puar’s The Right to Maim for a course titled “The Healing Humanities: Decolonizing Trauma Studies from the Global South,” which will be taught by Professor Satyel Larson this fall. Right to Maim has been accused by academics of being “pseudo-scholarship” for trafficking in antisemitic blood libels rooted in medieval conspiracies charging that Jews murdered Christian children and drank their blood during Passover.

Puar began making such claims in Feb. 2016, when she said at Vassar College  that “young Palestinian men…were mined for organs for scientific research.” At the same event, she accused Israel of committing “genocide in slow motion.” Later that year, during a panel at Dartmouth College she said Israel uses “maiming as a deliberate biopolitical tactic” to enforce settler-colonialism. (Read more)

1. Biden administration puts the final nail in the coffin for incandescent light bulbs - CNBC

On Tuesday, the Biden administration put the final nail in the coffin for incandescent light bulbs, the result of a decade-plus-long legislative path.

The journey began in 2007 when the Energy Independence and Security Act passed. That law required the Department of Energy to evaluate whether efficiency standards for light bulbs needed to be set or amended and required a minimum standard of energy efficiency for light bulbs of 45 lumens per watt to be considered.

Not all light bulbs are included in the ban. Exceptions include a whole slew of specific light bulb implications, including appliance lamps, black light lamps, bug lamps, colored lamps, general service fluorescent lamps, marine lamps, marine signal service lamps, mine service lamps, sliver bowl lamps, showcase lamps, and traffic signal lamp, to name a few. (Read more)

2. Twin Russian strikes on Ukrainian city kill civilians, then hit rescuers, official says - CNN

A deadly Russian attack on the eastern Ukrainian city of Pokrovsk appeared to be designed to specifically target rescue workers and first responders, Ukrainian officials alleged Tuesday, a potential war crime. Nine people were killed and 82 were injured in the attack, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in his daily address.

The bombardment began at 7:15 p.m. local time on Monday (12.15 p.m. ET), said Serhii Dobriak, a local military leader, when a short-range ballistic missile hit what President Zelensky called an “ordinary residential building” in the eastern Ukrainian city’s center.

First responders arrived on the scene to treat the wounded and dig people out from under the rubble, only to be targeted themselves. The second missile struck a nearby popular hotel, though it had been empty for five weeks, according to Dobriak.
“Half of the building is gone, so it’s good that no one was inside,” he said. (Read more)

3. White House holds first-ever summit on the ransomware crisis plaguing the nation’s public schools - The Hill

The White House on Tuesday held its first-ever cybersecurity “summit” on the ransomware attacks plaguing U.S. schools, in which criminal hackers have dumped online sensitive student data, including medical records, psychiatric evaluations and even sexual assault reports.

“If we want to safeguard our children’s futures we must protect their personal data,” first lady Jill Biden, who is a teacher, told the gathering. “Every student deserves the opportunity to see a school counselor when they’re struggling and not worry that these conversations will be shared with the world.”

At least 48 districts have been hit by ransomware attacks this year — already three more than in all of 2022, according to the cybersecurity firm Emsisoft. All but 10 had data stolen, the firm reported. Typically, Russian-speaking foreign-based gangs steal the data — sometimes including the Social Security numbers and financial data of district staff — before activating network-encrypting malware then threaten to dump it online unless paid in cryptocurrency.  (Read more)

4. Special counsel won secret search warrant for Trump’s Twitter account - The Hill

Special counsel Jack Smith subpoenaed and obtained a search warrant related to former President Trump’s account on X, according to court filings unsealed Wednesday.

The case, decided in July, ordered X, formerly known as Twitter, to turn over the documents sought by Smith and also fined the company $350,000 for a three-day delay in complying with a court order of the records.

The Justice Department (DOJ), which first sought the records in January, also obtained a nondisclosure order that prohibited X from disclosing the existence or contents of the search warrant to anyone, including Trump himself. The filing details a months-long battle between X and the special counsel’s office over the efforts to get information tied to Trump’s account, with an appeals court backing a lower court ruling “in all respects.”

- “Arise, LORD! Deliver me, my God! Strike all my enemies on the jaw; break the teeth of the wicked.” (Psalm 3:7)

- [Special additional prayer] We pray for the salvation of Special Counsel Jack Smith; that You would cause the scales to fall off of his eyes, so that He may come to know You as his Savior and Lord; and to walk in truth. Thank You, O Lord, for hearing our prayer, amen and amen.

6.  J6 Committee failed to preserve records, has no data on Capitol Hill security failures, GOP charges - Fox News

The House select committee that investigated the Capitol riot on January 6, 2021 failed to adequately preserve documents, data and video depositions – including communications it had with the Biden White House that are still missing – according to the Republican lawmaker overseeing the GOP investigation into the committee's work.

The now-disbanded "J6" committee, which was run by Democrats and included only two GOP members, has also failed to provide any evidence that it looked into Capitol Hill security failures on the day of the riot, Rep. Barry Loudermilk, R-Ga., chairman of the Subcommittee on Oversight for the Committee on House Administration, told Fox News Digital.

Loudermilk said his staff has had difficulty gathering all the information it needs to investigate Rep. Bennie Thompson’s handling of the J6 investigation. (Read more)

7. White House Purges 442 Reporters Using New Press Credential Rules - The Daily Signal

Over the past three months, the number of reporters with access to the White House dropped by 31%. There are now 442 fewer reporters with a coveted “hard pass”—the result of new rules announced in May that took effect Tuesday.

The Daily Signal’s Fred Lucas was among the reporters slated to lose his White House press credentials, although he was given a 10-day extension “to submit the required materials.” The White House now requires reporters to obtain press credentials from Congress or the Supreme Court to fulfill its new requirement; Lucas is currently awaiting a decision on his applications to the other branches.

Up until this week, the White House didn’t disclose the number of reporters who had a hard pass. Politico reported, “Within the past three months, the number of hard pass holders dropped from 1,417 to 975, with those approved reflecting a mix of renewals and new applications.” (Read more)

8. Americans Sour on Bidenomics: Most Say Economy Worse Than Five Years Ago - Brietbart

Americans have soured on Bidenomics, concluding that the U.S. economy is worse now than it was five years ago under former President Donald Trump’s leadership, a recent Reuters/Ipsos survey found.

The overall survey found that Americans view economic issues as some of the most “pressing problems” of the day. Overall, nearly half, 49 percent, of Americans view inflation as the most important issue facing the country. Further, nearly three-quarters of Americans, 73 percent, say the economy is worse off now than it was five years ago, under Trump’s leadership. A majority, 64 percent, also believe the economy is worse off than it was in 2020, when the coronavirus took a grip, forcing businesses to close.

“About two in five of Americans say they feel worse off from five years ago generally (38%) and a similar number say they feel worse off compared to 2020 (37%),” according to Ipsos, which also found that 56 percent do not believe Biden is doing enough to invest in the economy. (Read more)

Encourage us Lord to never stop giving and helping other people no matter how dark our situation may seem in Jesus name amen.

9. Maui Residents Forced to Flee Into Ocean to Escape ‘Apocalyptic’ Wildfire - msn.com

People were forced into the ocean waters off Maui Tuesday to escape a fast-moving wildfire driven by winds from a hurricane south of Hawaii as a popular tourist area went up in flames and vacationers scrambled to evacuate resorts.

The Coast Guard confirmed it rescued 12 people from the water off Lahaina. Structures were burning and evacuations were underway in the popular tourist area whose main street is lined with shops and restaurants.

Several resorts were being evacuated early Wednesday. A tourist says they were told to evacuate the Lahaina Shores Beach Resort and were only given “1 min” to gather what they could.

Stupidocrisy: Secret Service Secrets

The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, August 9, 2023

One of the biggest secrets about a major news story in recent weeks is being kept by the Secret Service. After all, the Secret Service is by law required to protect the President. It seems that one of the duties of the Secret Service under Joe Biden is to protect him and his son Hunter’s problems with cocaine. Yes, there is no proof that the cocaine found at the White House was Joe’s or Hunter’s. There is, however, a whole lot of speculation about who had access to the area where the cocaine was stored, when they had access, and who else was involved with the incident. The Secret Service is essentially saying, “we don’t know nothing about no cocaine in the White House.” This doesn’t meet the straight face test.

But nobody is laughing unless it’s the Biden family who really knows the truth. And the Secret Service knows the truth, too, but nobody is telling it. In fact, the Heritage Foundation filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request seeking the list of those who had access to the area where the coke was found. The Secret Service responded. No go. In a July 25 letter, the Department of Homeland Security, Freedom of Information Act Program Communications Center Freedom of Information Act Officer, Office of Intergovernmental and Legislative Affairs Kevin L Tyrrell declined to provide the requested FOIA information. With all the agency layers it takes to make a simple request, it’s a wonder any information can be had. But I digress. Read More

Biden’s Big Bucks

Rep. James Comer, chairman of the House Oversight Committee, released a memo today outlining a series of financial transfers to the Biden family and Biden business associates from Russian, Ukrainian and Kazakh oligarchs.

The financial payouts occurred when Joe Biden served as vice president in the Obama/Biden Administration, and they total more than $20 million. Multiple Biden family members, including grandchildren, directly benefitted from these foreign payments.

In a statement detailing the big bucks foreign oligarchs paid to the Biden family, Chairman Comer declared:

“During Joe Biden’s vice presidency, Hunter Biden sold him as ‘the brand’ to reap millions from oligarchs in Kazakhstan, Russia, and Ukraine.  It appears no real services were provided other than access to the Biden network, including Joe Biden himself. . .

“It’s clear Joe Biden knew about his son’s business dealings and allowed himself to be ‘the brand’ sold to enrich the Biden family while he was Vice President of the United States.

“The House Oversight Committee will continue to follow the money trail and obtain witness testimony to determine whether foreign actors targeted the Bidens, [whether] President Biden is compromised or corrupt, and [if] our national security is threatened.”

Biden’s Burdensome Regulations Are Contributing to Lackluster Economic Productivity, Experts Say

Labor productivity remains below COVID-19 pandemic levels after its first increase year-over-year was announced Thursday since 2021, with experts citing Biden administration regulations as one of the causes for the lackluster results.

Nonfarm business labor productivity reached 1.3% growth year-over-year for the second quarter of 2023 after declining for five straight quarters starting with the first quarter of 2022, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The Biden administration has imposed a large amount of regulations that have hindered productivity, and the recent return to modest growth is in spite of these costly regulations , experts told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

“When the federal government enacts massive legislation and regulation that causes the private sector to focus on compliance and not on producing products and services, productivity necessarily declines,” Michael Faulkender, chief economist and senior advisor for the Center for American Prosperity, told the DCNF. “The Biden administration has added hundreds of millions of hours of compliance paperwork to our economy. That does not cause production and therefore has negative productivity implications.”

‘US defense pact would render Saudi nuclear program unnecessary’

The Americans would be able to provide protection against Iranian aggression in the region, Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen argued in an opinion piece published in The Wall Street Journal on Tuesday.

“[A] defense pledge could reassure Middle Eastern nations, primarily Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states,” he wrote.

“This approach would make individual nuclear ambitions unnecessary, bolster regional stability, and promote the peace and normalization agenda.”

Cohen continued: “A united front, bringing together moderate Sunni nations and Israel, would be an effective check on Iran’s growing ambitions.” (JNS.org) Read more here.

Israeli scientist, Dr Isaiah Rubinstein, finds God's name, YHWH, in our DNA.
Ben Stein (interviewer): "What do you think is the possibility that intelligent design might turn out to be the answer to some issues in genetics or in Darwinian evolution?" Richard Dawkins: "And I suppose it’s possible that you might find evidence for that if you look at the details of biochemistry, molecular biology, you might find a signature of some sort of Designer. And that Designer could well be a higher intelligence from elsewhere in the universe."

Jesus Revolution Earns a Top 5 Spot on Netflix:

'A Whole New Audience to See This Film'
The breakout Hollywood film Jesus Revolution took a spot on Netflix's Top 5 this week – after premiering on the platform in late July. The movie about the national spiritual awakening in the late 1960s and early 1970s has found wide success since coming out in February. As CBN News has reported, the film was released by Lionsgate and earned more than $52 million in theaters. It opened at the box office at the number 3 spot and remained in the top 10 for several weeks. It has also become Lionsgate's "biggest release in over four years" and now that it's streaming it reached number 4 on Netflix. The movie tells the true story behind the Jesus Movement, including how Pastor Chuck Smith welcomed hippies at Calvary Chapel as they were looking for truth. That invitation helped to fuel one of the greatest spiritual awakenings in American history. Greg and Cathe Laurie were two of those young people who were welcomed by Chuck Smith. They were truth-seekers who soon became part of the Jesus Movement, got married, and eventually went on to pastor Harvest Christian Fellowship.

Pastor Greg urged his followers to pray for those who would be watching the film on the streaming platform.  "A whole new audience is going to see this film now. Let's pray God uses this film to touch their hearts with the Gospel," Laurie recently tweeted. Laurie believes hundreds of people are making decisions for Christ because of seeing this film. "The timing of 'Jesus Revolution' is incredible," he recently shared. "I believe God's hand has been on it from the beginning. The Jesus Movement was the last great American spiritual awakening. Some historians have said it was the greatest revival of all time. Our prayer continues to be that this film will prompt Christians everywhere to say, 'Do it again, Lord!' And He is!"  (CBN) Read more here.
- Father, we thank You for allowing many to learn about the Jesus Movement through the streaming of "Jesus Revolution" to thousands of households! We PRAISE You for the baptisms that have already occurred because of the impact of this movie. In the name of Jesus, we declare that many more will desire to surrender their lives and will come to Salvation in Christ. We rejoice for the MIGHTY work being accomplished for Your Kingdom and give You all the GLORY for the returning prodigals and the harvest of new believers that will come! Amen and Amen

For He will speak peace
To His people and to His saints."

A Special Message
The Sinner's Prayer
"Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. In Your Name."

Scripture: Teach me Thy way, O Lord. Psalm 86:11

Lyrics:
Teach me Thy way, O Lord,
Teach me Thy way!
Thy guiding grace afford,
Teach me Thy way!

Help me to walk aright,
More by faith, less by sight;
Lead me with heav’nly light,
Teach me Thy way!

When I am sad at heart,
Teach me Thy way!
When earthly joys depart,
Teach me Thy way!
In hours of loneliness,
In times of dire distress,
In failure or success,
Teach me Thy way!

When doubts and fears arise,
Teach me Thy way!
When storms o’erspread the skies,
Teach me Thy way!

Shine through the cloud and rain,
Through sorrow, toil and pain;
Make Thou my pathway plain,
Teach me Thy way!
Long as my life shall last,
Teach me Thy way!
Where’er my lot be cast,
Teach me Thy way!

Until the race is run,
Until the journey’s done,
Until the crown is won,
Teach me Thy way!
