Iranian rial collapses, 'loses 30% of value'
|
|
The Iranian Rial is 1 US Dollar = 42,072 Iranian Rial! Iran has the weakest currency in the entire world. Takes money to fight wars, and their people are really suffering because all of the money goes to the military.
|
|
A sharp crash in the value of the Iranian rial was reported yesterday, with some sources reporting that one US dollar would now be worth over 660,000 Iranian rials in some unofficial markets, while others stressed the fact that the already weak currency suffered a blow leading to the loss of 30% of its worth overnight; despite the regime’s official digits showing no major changes.
One member of the Majles (the Iranian parliament) demanded to know from chair Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf what steps the authorities are going to take, calling on the parliament to meet with the governor of the country’s central bank, and wondering, “if we don’t have money – why are we printing more? And if we do have money – why is it so costly?” Qalibaf answered they are “aware of the situation and will hold meetings inshallah (Arabic: God willing),” sparking a wave of disappointed and sarcastic comments.
One social media user commented ironically: “oh you’re going to hold a meeting? Bulls**t,” while another user uploaded a video showcasing the rial’s loss of buying power, showing how a 50,000 Iranian rial banknote ($1.2) used to be enough to buy 30 eggs only a decade ago, while nowadays it suffices to buy only one single egg. Donald Trump Reveals Abortion Position, Says States Should Decide
|
|
Former President Donald Trump officially announced his position on abortion on Monday, ending months-long speculation about how he would handle the issue should he be elected in November.
In a video posted to Truth Social, Trump said the issue of abortion is about “the will of the people” and should be left up to states to decide. The 45th president touted his role in nominating the Supreme Court justices who ultimately overturned Roe v. Wade in their Dobbs decision — ending 50 years of an invented constitutional right to abortion and sending the issue back to individual states and their elected representatives.
“My view is now that we have abortion where everybody wanted it from a legal standpoint, the states will determine by vote or legislation, or perhaps both, and whatever they decide, must be the law of the land,” Trump said. (Breitbart) Read more here.

IDF withdraws all troops from southern Gaza
|
|
The Israel Defense Forces has withdrawn all ground troops from the southern Gaza Strip, with only one brigade remaining in the coastal enclave, according to reports on Sunday.
This comes after four months of fighting in the former Hamas stronghold of Khan Yunis and six months since the start of the war.
According to IDF sources on Sunday, the IDF’s 98th Division has concluded its mission in Khan Yunis. The division left the Gaza Strip to recuperate and prepare for future operations. A significant force led by the 162nd Division and the division’s Nahal Brigade continues to operate in the Gaza Strip, and will preserve the IDF’s freedom of action and its ability to conduct precise intelligence-based operations, the sources said.
The move also comes after last week, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu once again reiterated that the IDF would defeat Hamas by entering the last terrorist stronghold of Rafah, south of Khan Yunis.
“There is no victory without entering Rafah; there is no victory without destroying the Hamas battalions there,” said Netanyahu in a primetime address, adding that the operation “will take time, but it will happen.” (Israel365News) Read more here.

- Lord God, it is not our job, as intercessors, to pray that our leaders will move in a certain direction in their decision making, for only they know the "whole picture" in front of them. Instead, we recommit ourselves as prayer warriors to uphold the Prime Minister of Israel, that he will know Your will for his nation, and have the resources needed to carry this out. And so, it is this manner, that we pray today for P.M. Benjamin Netanyahu. Amen.
- "Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence." (I Timothy 2:1,2)

1. Netanyahu declares ‘there is a date’ for Rafah operation - World Israel News
Amid speculation of the war concluding with the withdrawal of IDF troops from southern Gaza, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reiterated his commitment to destroy the remaining Hamas battalions in Rafah and declared “there is a date” for the operation.
In a video message released to the public on Monday, Netanyahu said, “This victory requires entering Rafah and eliminating the terrorist battalions there. This will happen; there is a date.”
The Prime Minister on several occasions has emphasized that military activity in Rafah is necessary to eliminate Hamas from Gaza.
As negotiations continue in Cairo for the release of hostages and a pause in fighting, National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir was concerned that Israel was caving to demands and was scrapping its plans to operate in Rafah. (Read more)

2. Escalation Continues Along Israel’s Northern Border - Jewish Press
Rocket, missile and combat drone fire from Lebanon is continuing to rain down on the border communities in northern Israel, fired by Iran’s Lebanese proxy, Hezbollah.
A Red Alert siren was triggered in Moshav Yonatan on the Golan Heights on Monday evening, sending residents racing for cover. The siren was followed by a rocket fired at the moshav from Syrian territory, the IDF said.
“The IDF will attack in response,” the IDF added.
Rocket fire was also aimed toward the areas of the western Galilee and Mount Dov in northern Israel, although several of the launches fell in Lebanese territory, the IDF said Monday night. Others landed in open areas and no Red Alert sirens were triggered, in accordance with protocol. No injuries were reported. (Read more)

3. Senior commander in Hezbollah’s elite force killed in IDF strike - Times of Israel
The Israel Defense Forces early Monday eliminated a senior field commander in Hezbollah’s elite Radwan force in southern Lebanon, the military and the terror group said.
Ali Ahmed Hassin, according to the IDF, held a rank equivalent to a brigade commander, and was charged with attacks on northern Israel’s Ramim Ridge, an area that has come under repeated rocket, missile, and explosive-laden drone fire amid the war against the Hamas terror group in the south.
“As part of his role, he was responsible for the planning and execution of terror attacks in the Ramim Ridge area against the Israeli home front,” the IDF said. (Read more)

The Palestinians’ long-dormant application for full United Nations membership will be given a fresh look on Monday.
The United Nations Security Council is set to meet, first in closed consultations, then in an open format, to consider the 2011 application—a move officially requested in a letter from Palestinian Authority Foreign Minister Riyad Mansour last Wednesday.
That letter, addressed to U.N. Secretary-General António Guterres and Security Council President Vanessa Frazier of Malta, indicated support from 140 member states who already recognize Palestinian statehood. (Read more)

1. State voters to decide if 'back alley abortion butchers' will be unregulated - WND
The majority on the Florida Supreme Court has ruled that an amendment that essentially allows for abortion anytime, to anyone, for any reason, will be on this fall's election ballot.
But Liberty Counsel, which has fought for the pro-life movement for years already, said it is the three justices in the minority who got the issue right.
"They correctly argued that the proposed amendment 'misleads' voters and 'fails' to convey the far-reaching legal consequences if voted into law," Liberty Counsel reported.
Justices Renatha Francis, Jamie Grosshans, and Meredith Sasso, the three women on the court, all dissented from the majority opinion, charging that the language was defective.
For example, they explained, the amendment misleads voters because it ends legislative and executive action on abortion, not just limits. (Read more)

3. Biden Admin Cancels Strategic Petroleum Reserve Refill Plan - IFA
On Wednesday, the Biden administration announced that it was stepping back from a plan to refill the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) following a significant drawdown in recent years.
Bloomberg News reported the decision marks a reversal from last month’s announcement to solicit up to 3 million barrels to a Louisiana site in August and September. It also coincides with crude oil prices reaching their highest level in months as geopolitical tensions increase.
The Energy Department claimed to be “keeping the taxpayer’s interest at the forefront.” The agency said, “We will not award the current solicitations for the Bayou Choctaw SPR site and will solicit available capacity as market conditions allow,” adding, “We will continue to monitor market dynamics.” … (Read more here)

4. Survivor of Gulag Convicted in U.S. for Pro-life Protest - IFA
Four pro-life activists have been convicted of violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act and now face prison time and thousands of dollars in fines.
According to a Department of Justice statement … the pro-lifers face a “maximum of six months in prison, five years of supervised release, and fines of up to $10,000.”
The four activists — Eva Edl, 87; Eva Zastro, 24; James Zastro, 25; and Paul Place, 24 — were convicted of FACE Act violations in federal court … for a protest held at a Tennessee abortion clinic in March 2021.
Edl is a well-known pro-life activist and a survivor of a communist concentration camp who fled Soviet-controlled Eastern Europe. …
The latest conviction was issued by a federal judge for the Middle District of Tennessee, according to the DOJ statement. …
“These defendants positioned themselves directly in front of the main clinic door for over two hours, physically blocking access to the clinic, resulting in no patients accessing the clinic. Police requested that the defendants leave or move multiple times, but after more than two hours, these defendants were arrested,” the statement said.
The protest took place at Carafem Health Center Clinic in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, a suburb of Nashville. Captured extensively on video, the four activists along with several other pro-lifers stood in front of the abortion clinic’s doors while singing Christian hymns and chanting prayers.
Police in the video can be seen demanding they leave the building and while some do, others refuse.
… [T]he federal FACE Act prohibits “violent, threatening, damaging, and obstructive conduct intended to injure, intimidate, or interfere with the right to seek, obtain, or provide reproductive health services.” (Read more here)

5. Study: Most ‘Trans’ Children Outgrow Their Confusion - IFA
The majority of gender-confused children grow out of that feeling by the time they are fully grown adults, according to a long-term study.
Researchers in the Netherlands tracked more than 2,700 children from age 11 to their mid-twenties, asking them every three years of feelings about their gender.
Results showed at the start of the research, around one-in-10 children (11 percent) expressed ‘gender non-contentedness‘ to varying degrees.
But by age 25, just one-in-25 (4 percent) said they ‘often’ or ‘sometimes’ were discontent with their gender.
The researchers concluded: ‘The results of the current study might help adolescents to realize that it is normal to have some doubts about one’s identity and one’s gender identity during this age period and that this is also relatively common.’ …
Patrick Brown, a fellow at the conservative Ethics and Public Policy Center who was not involved in the research, told DailyMail.com: ‘This study provides even more reason to be skeptical towards aggressive steps to facilitate gender transition in childhood and adolescence. (Read more here)

6. Jewish students at Rutgers speak out in wake of latest anti-Israel incident on campus: 'Horrifying experience' - Fox News
A group of "out of control" pro-Palestinian protesters interrupted a town hall at Rutgers University on Thursday, shouting anti-Israel slogans like "one solution, intifada revolution" and forcing officials to end the meeting early as they and Jewish students were ushered out by police, a student told Fox News Digital this weekend.
The student, who wished to remain anonymous for fear of retribution, said Rutgers President Jonathan Holloway and administrators "ran away," "leaving behind the Jewish/pro-Israel students to deal with an unruly and obviously antisemitic crowd, whose attention turned to the Jews after the administration left."
They said police then ushered students out the back door because it was too dangerous to exit the front door.
Cory Rothbort, an attorney with Mazie Slater & Freeman, who is representing student Rivka Schafer along with another student, called it a "horrifying experience" for the Jews in attendance. (Read more)

7. Former defense secretary predicts Iran will strike at Israel - Fox News
Former Defense Secretary Mark Esper on Friday said Iran is likely to retaliate against Israel for a recent missile strike that hit Tehran's consulate in Damascus, Syria.
Israel has not claimed responsibility for the strike, which killed senior Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) commander Mohammad Reza Zahedi. Reuters cited a Lebanese security source as the first to identify Israel as the responsible party, to which an Israeli military spokesperson responded, "We do not comment on reports in the foreign media."
In an interview on CNN, Esper predicted Iran will take action against Israel, but on a limited scale to avoid wide-scale war in the Middle East.
"They are going to act," Esper said Friday. "They're going to feel the need, to uphold their dignity, to maintain credibility with their proxies, throughout the region, and to really meet the demands of hardliners, within the theocracy that wants to see something done."

8. New Jersey Gov Phil Murphy faces flak for not returning to state following historic earthquake - Fox News
New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy came under fire after he did not return to the Garden State following the historic earthquake on Friday that left residents rattled.
Rep. Jeff Van Drew, R-N.J., spoke with "FOX News Live" on Saturday after Murphy did not issue an on-camera address to residents, despite a few TV and phone interviews, including an interview Saturday with CBS.
"We haven’t heard from the governor — and you know, on a lighter side, Arthel, there are those that say maybe it’s good he didn’t come, because every time he’s in New Jersey, he’s increasing taxes, tolls, fees and subsidizing illegals," Van Drew told "FOX News Live" co-anchor Arthel Neville.
Van Drew said that residents were forced to look to New York leadership for guidance during the natural disaster — rather than their own governor.
"So I think he could have taken maybe even 12 hours out to come back to New Jersey. Our folks in New Jersey really had to look to New York — to New York officials — and what they were saying," Van Drew said. "Even though the actual earthquake was centered in Lebanon, New Jersey, in the northwestern part of the state." (Read more)

The All-Consuming Fire
The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, April 8, 2024
As Peter proclaimed in 1 Peter 2:9, “You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that you should show forth the praises of him who has called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.” Much of the first five books of the Bible is about separating the common from the uncommon and establishing a holy nation of priests. It was about knowing God and learning to do his will and keep his precepts unto salvation. In this current time that we live, we are to be that royal priesthood in Christ. That means keeping his commandments as he prescribes, not doing what we think is right in our own eyes. This is important now more than ever. I am reminded of the story about offering strange fire.
There are three kinds of fire in the episode of Aaron’s sons Nadab and Abihu: 1) the fire of the LORD that consumes the sacrifice properly offered by Aaron (Leviticus 9:24), 2) the “unauthorized fire” offered by Aaron’s two sons (Leviticus 10:1), and 3) the “fire that came from the presence of the LORD and consumed them…(Leviticus 10:2).” Nadab and Abihu’s fire was “strange fire,” of their own making, not God’s fire. There are many commentaries on why this occurred, but the most simple direct explanation is found in the words of Leviticus 10:1 itself—“But Nadab and Abihu sons of Aaron, each took his censer, put fire in it, and laid incense on it, and offered unauthorized fire before the LORD, something he had not ordered them to do.” By not adhering to the LORD’s instructions and entering on their own terms, they disregarded God’s holiness. Innovation at Sea: Researchers Unveil Stealthy Underwater Robot for Minimally Invasive Ocean Exploration
|
|
The quest for comprehensive knowledge of the ocean’s depths has taken an innovative turn with the introduction of a groundbreaking underwater robot developed by scientists at Zhejiang University in China. With its exceptional camouflaging abilities, this stealthy robot represents a significant leap forward in ecological preservation and efficient exploration.
Revolutionizing Ocean Exploration with Invisible Robotics
A team led by Professor Haojian Lu has crafted a cylindrical, modular robot capable of blending into its underwater surroundings, thereby reducing its impact on marine life. The robot’s hollow structure maintains pressure equilibrium, enabling it to navigate extreme ocean depths without succumbing to the immense pressure. Researchers have focused on incorporating materials that not only afford the requisite flexibility but also disappear into the aquatic backdrop, marking a considerable stride in underwater robotic technology.
Laboratory tests have demonstrated the robot’s proficiency in unobtrusive navigation and delicate object handling, a skill set that will prove invaluable for various underwater tasks. However, the team continues to tackle the challenge of ensuring longevity in the corrosive seawater environment.
Drawing from multiple disciplines, the pursuit of enhanced underwater robotics heralds the importance of innovative materials, advanced sensor development, and autonomous operation in expanding human understanding of the marine realm. Read More

Hundreds of Young Adults Embrace Christ in Spontaneous Baptisms
|
|
One year after the stunning, 16-day, non-stop worship service at Asbury University, an outpouring of sorts still appears to be striking various schools and student bodies across America. Case-in-point: well-known ministry leaders Jennie Allen, Jonathan Pokluda and others baptized hundreds of University of Georgia students Wednesday night. Rather than immersions in traditional baptismal pools, many of the students professed their faith in the backs of pickup trucks outside a fraternity—a truly unique setting.
Online videos showed large crowds of students gathered around these trucks, watching their classmates openly embrace Christ. "Insane night at University of Georgia!" Allen wrote in an Instagram caption. "Once again! He is moving!!!!" Allen, who called these happenings "so powerful," explained in the video that the baptisms followed an evangelistic event at Stegeman Coliseum led by Allen and Pokluda. "We preached Jesus, worship's incredible," she said in an Instagram video, noting there were as many as 7,000 or 8,000 students assembled at the stadium. "And, so, we are preaching Jesus, confessing sin—all these students, and it's just so beautiful." (Charisma News) Read More Here.

"A mountain immovable, a swiftly encroaching sea, disparate forces of life intent on assailing me.
But like the oak or ash tossed in egregious storm, still standing arms up-stretched as if to praise the One who controls the gale and gives strength to carry on.
There is a life deep hid in God where all is calm and still, where, listening to His holy Word, one learns to trust, until all anxious care is put away, and there is peace, profound always!
Grant us Thy peace, O God!"

When I Survey the Wondrous Cross
To listen to this classic hymn, CLICK HERE
Words: Isaac Watts
Music: Lowell Mason
Scripture: May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. Galatians 6:14
Lyrics:
When I survey the wondrous cross
On which the Prince of glory died,
My richest gain I count but loss,
And pour contempt on all my pride.
Forbid it, Lord, that I should boast,
Save in the death of Christ my God!
All the vain things that charm me most,
I sacrifice them to His blood.
See from His head, His hands, His feet,
Sorrow and love flow mingled down!
Did e’er such love and sorrow meet,
Or thorns compose so rich a crown?
His dying crimson, like a robe,
Spreads o’er His body on the tree;
Then I am dead to all the globe,
And all the globe is dead to me.
Were the whole realm of nature mine,
That were a present far too small;
Love so amazing, so divine,
Demands my soul, my life, my all.
To Christ, who won for sinners grace
By bitter grief and anguish sore,
Be praise from all the ransomed race
Forever and forevermore.
