Trump to travel to New York City Monday before Tuesday arraignment, return to Florida hours later
|
|
Former President Donald Trump’s lawyer Joe Tacopina said that he does not “know what to expect” when the former president is arraigned in New York City on charges brought by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office but suggested that Trump file a motion to dismiss it.
Tacopina said that his team has not yet seen the indictment, which is still sealed.
“We will take the indictment. We will dissect it. The team will look at every, every potential issue that we will be able to challenge and we will challenge, and of course I very much anticipate a motion to dismiss coming because there’s no law that fits this,” Tacopina told CNN on Sunday.
In a separate interview, the lawyer indicated that he doesn’t know what to expect when Trump arrives in Manhattan for his arraignment. Last week, he confirmed to The Epoch Times that Trump will surrender on Tuesday, April 4.
“I’ve done a million arraignments in that courthouse with celebrities and whatnot, but this is a whole different thing,” said Tacopina, who has represented a large number of high-profile individuals, in an ABC News interview on Sunday. “We have Secret Service involved. I understand they’re closing the courthouse for the afternoon. I just don’t know what to expect to see.”
“What I hope is that we get in and out of there as quickly as possible, that it’s at the end of the day, a typical arraignment, where we stand before the judge, we say, not guilty, we set schedules to file motions and whatnot or discovery and we move forward and get out of there,” he added. “As a lawyer, I want this to be done as smoothly and quickly as possible and begin this fight to do really … to put justice back on course to the degree we’ve had because I’ve said, once the rule of law falls in this country or is stretched so far to try and get a political opponent, it’s often hard to get that rule of law back to its original shape.” (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

Russia takes over presidency of UN Security Council; ‘bad optics’ for West, propaganda win for Putin: experts
|
|
Russia expert says Moscow's position as UN Security Council president shows disconnect between UN 'justice and mission'
|
|
Russia has once again resumed the top job in the United Nations Security Council by filling the presidency for the month of April, and security officials are concerned how the Kremlin will use its influence while it sits in the rotational seat.
The presidency shifts each month among the 15 member states on the council. So, Russia's tenure in the seat will be short.
But officials say Moscow could use its brief position to influence the council’s agenda, prioritize or deprioritize certain issues, and appear as a legitimate world leader to Russians at home.
|
|
"It’s not going to be a happy month," Jonathan Wachtel told Fox News Digital.
Wachtel served as counsel to the U.S. permanent representative and mission to the United Nations on foreign policy and global communications during the Trump administration.
"Russia had the presidency last February. That’s when the invasion started in Ukraine. And here we are, a year later, at arguably the most precarious point in the war," Wachtel said in reference to the heightened risk of nuclear warfare and increasingly tense geopolitical relations.
"Moscow’s going to be running the Security Council. That’s not good."
The Kremlin has already set a meeting for the April agenda that will be chaired by its foreign minister Sergei Lavrov, who has repeatedly given false narratives regarding Russia's war aim in Ukraine, levied accusations of Nazism against the Kyiv administration, and propelled dangerous rhetoric regarding nuclear escalation against the West.
"Putin will use Russia’s new position to push propaganda both domestically and internationally to advance the narrative that Russia is not only a great power… but also it has moral high ground," Rebekah Koffler, a Russia expert and former Defense Intelligence Agency intel officer, told Fox News Digital.
But, most significantly, Koffler pointed out that Russia sitting in the highest international seat presents "bad optics" for nations attempting to maintain a sense of world order.
"In reality, Russia's new position will not change the balance of power with the U.N. Security Council or at the U.N. at large," Koffler said. "But the optics are terrible for the West. You’ve got a country – whose leader is subject to an arrest warrant by the International Criminal Court – running the top global organization whose primary mission is to regulate international relations and uphold international law.
"This development just shows that there’s a disconnect within the current international system, as far as justice and mission," she added. (Fox News) Read more.

- Lord God, we thank You for watchmen on the wall who signal to the intercessors
when danger is ahead. We thank You for Bill Koenig, whose website (www.watch.org) has done exactly that for us today.
Now that we are "in the know," we purpose to remain vigilant during this next month while Russia chairs the rotating Presidency of the U.N. Security Council.
Help us to discern moves that would endanger the global order, and to be quick to come against these moves in spiritual warfare, "cutting them off at the pass" before any wicked strategies can take root and bear fruit. We ask this in Your Name, Holy One, amen and amen.
- "On your walls, O Jerusalem, I have posted watchmen; they will never be silent day or night. You who call on the LORD shall take no rest for yourselves," (Isaiah 62:6)

High activity spotted at North Korea nuclear complex after Kim's bomb-fuel order, report says
|
|
WASHINGTON, April 1 (Reuters) - Satellite images show a high level of activity at North Korea's main nuclear site, a U.S. think tank reported on Saturday after the North Korean leader ordered an increase in production of bomb fuel to expand the country's nuclear arsenal.
The Washington-based 38 North North Korea monitoring project said the activity it had spotted, based on images from March 3 and 17, could indicate that an Experimental Light Water Reactor (ELWR) at the Yongbyon site was nearing completion and transition to operational status.
The report said the images showed that a 5 megawatt reactor at Yongbyon continued to operate and that construction had started on a support building around the ELWR. Further, water discharges had been detected from that reactor's cooling system. New construction had also started around Yongbyon's uranium enrichment plant, likely to expand its capabilities.
"These developments seem to reflect Kim Jong Un's recent directive to increase the country's fissile material production to expand its nuclear weapons arsenal," the report added, referring to the North Korean leader. (Reuters) Read more.

|
- Holy One, we come before You today on bended knee, asking You in Your mercy to dismantle this reactor. Help us, O Lord, we pray, amen.

At least 25 dead as tornadoes batter the South and Midwest
|
|
At least 25 people are dead after a major storm system ripped through the Midwest, the South and the mid-Atlantic, bringing tornadoes and severe thunderstorms through Saturday night.
The latest fatalities were reported in Tennessee and Delaware.
The National Weather Service was working to confirm the tornado reports by putting people on the ground to assess damage, which can take time.
"We will be surveying damage from likely tornadoes that struck many of our Middle Tennessee counties overnight, including Wayne, Lewis, Marshall, Rutherford, Cannon and Macon counties," the weather service field office in Nashville said on Saturday. "Due to the widespread damage, it will take us several days to reach all these areas."
The damage includes downed trees, power lines and "houses with heavy damage" in multiple counties, according to a list of storm reports collected by the agency. (NBC News) Read more.

1. Netanyahu Decides to Keep Gallant as Defense Minister - Jewish Press
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has decided to reverse course and keep former IDF Chief of Staff Yoav Gallant in his position as Defense Minister, reportedly in light of the current security threats facing the Jewish State.
“The prime minister is postponing his decision until another occasion mainly due to the security developments in the area,” a source close to Netanyahu told The Jerusalem Post Monday night.
The move follows a week in which protests were ramped up across the country in response to Netanyahu’s decision to fire Gallant after he took to the airwaves to announce his opposition to the government’s planned judicial reforms – doing so while Netanyahu was abroad and heading back to Israel from an official visit to the UK. 2. Levin admits original judicial appointments bill was a danger to democracy - Times of Israel
Justice Minister Yariv Levin, the architect of the government’s judicial overhaul plans, conceded that a key piece of his legislation would have led to a situation unacceptable in a democratic country, in which the coalition would exercise control over all three branches of government.
In an interview with Channel 14 two weeks ago that circulated online Monday, Levin said that while many arguments against his proposals were baseless, he accepted a charge critics made against the original judicial appointments bill, which would have handed the coalition an automatic majority on the panel that chooses judges: that such a change would “lead to a situation in which all three branches of government become one branch.”
“This claim, that [the blurring of branches] could ultimately lead to a constitutional crisis, is a claim that can’t be ignored — this cannot happen in a democratic country,” Levin said. (Read more)

3. Homes damaged after Palestinians fire on Israeli town in north - Israel Hayom
The IDF launched a manhunt after terrorists shot at Israeli homes in northern Israel on Monday. The evening attack targeted the residents of Ma'aleh Gilboa – a town on the summit of Mount Gilboa and just off the Green Line.
Several homes were damaged but no casualties were reported. The trajectory suggests that the perpetrators were positioned after the security barrier Israel had established to separate from Judea and Samaria.
The shooting, according to residents, was from a passing vehicle in the Jenin area. A Palestinian terrorist group later published footage claiming to show the incident. Another attempted attack reportedly took place not far from the Palestinian village of Hawara, where several shootings took place in recent weeks.
No casualties were reported in the second incident. (Read more)

4. ‘It was very scary’: Unusual terror shooting in northern Israel targets religious kibbutz - World Israel News
Palestinian terrorists shot at homes in a religious kibbutz in northern Israel Monday evening, causing some damage but no injuries.
The terrorists seemingly arrived in a vehicle from the Jenin area and fired across the separation fence at Kibbutz Ma’ale Gilboa, according to the IDF.
Palestinian Islamic Jihad and the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade claimed responsibility for the attack, saying they had fired at the town of Merav, which is situated next to the kibbutz. They released a video of the shooting. (Read more)

1. Zelensky Govt Demands Orthodox Church Leader Put Under House Arrest - Breitbart.com
Ukraine’s top security agency notified a top Orthodox priest Saturday that he was suspected of justifying Russia’s aggression, a criminal offense, amid a bitter dispute over a famed Orthodox monastery.
Metropolitan Pavel, the abbot of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra monastery, Ukraine’s most revered Orthodox site, has strongly resisted the authorities’ order to vacate the complex. Earlier in the week, he cursed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, threatening him with damnation. During a court hearing in the Ukrainian capital, the metropolitan strongly rejected the claim by the Security Service of Ukraine, known as the SBU, that he condoned Russia’s invasion. Pavel described the accusations against him as politically driven. (Read more)

2. Biden Admin’s Sweeping New Rules Would Let Green Groups Lease Federal Land Away From Oil, Ranching - The Daily Caller
The U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI) proposed new rules Thursday that would allow public land to be leased for conservation efforts, among other major changes to promote land health.
The proposal would expand land-health standards to the entirety of the 245 million acres managed by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), prioritize the designation of Areas of Critical Environmental Concern (ACEC) and establish a leasing framework for private partners to perform climate restoration and mitigation efforts on public land, according to the DOI. The new rule would make proposed leases for conservation efforts a valid “use” of public land, similar to mining, ranching and other energy projects under the Federal Land Policy Management Act (FLPMA) of 1976, according to the BLM. 3. Florida Grand Jury Slams Joe Biden's Child-Trafficking Program - Breitbart.com
President Joe Biden’s progressive deputies are smuggling children and teenage migrants to U.S.-based labor traffickers and employers, a Florida grand jury declared on March 30.
The federal government “is facilitating the forced migration, sale, and abuse of foreign children, and some of our fellow Florida residents are (in some cases unwittingly) funding and incentivizing it for primarily economic reasons,” the 46-page report published by Florida’s Statewide Prosecutor’s Office said.
The jury’s report, described as “stunning” by the Miami Herald, describes how foreign children and teens are delivered to employers via a relay-chain network of coyotes, cartels, federal agencies, government-funded nonprofits, and U.S.-based labor traffickers. The New York Times sketched the resulting child workforce in a dramatic article on February 25: “Cristian works a construction job instead of going to school. He is 14. … Carolina packages Cheerios at night in a factory. She is 15. … Wander starts looking for day-labor jobs before sunrise. He is 13.” (Read more)

4. North Korea plans trading Russia weapons for food, National Security Council says - Fox News
North Korea is seeking to make a deal with Russia exchanging its glut of weaponry for much-needed food supplies, according to U.S. security officials.
National Security Council (NSC) coordinator John Kirby made the assertion Thursday during a press conference.
"We remain concerned that North Korea will provide further support to Russia's military operations against Ukraine," Kirby said. "As part of this proposed deal, Russia would receive over two dozen kinds of weapons and munitions from Korea." (Read more)
- Lord, we pray that this plan will not succeed. We ask that You move across North Korea in a mighty wave of awakening to help them all find Your love and provision.

5. Biden admin moving forward with light bulb bans in coming weeks - Fox News
The Biden administration is preparing to implement a sweeping nationwide ban on commonly used light bulbs as part of its energy efficiency and climate agenda.
The regulations, which prohibit retailers from selling incandescent light bulbs, were finalized by the Department of Energy (DOE) in April 2022 and are slated to go into effect on Aug. 1, 2023. The DOE will begin full enforcement of the ban on that date, but it has already urged retailers to begin transitioning away from the light bulb type and, in recent months, begun issuing warning notices to companies.
"The lighting industry is already embracing more energy efficient products, and this measure will accelerate progress to deliver the best products to American consumers and build a better and brighter future," Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm said last year. (Read more)

6. Exclusive—Anatomy of a Biden Family Business Deal: Get Son Hunter or Sister Valerie to Sign ‘on Behalf of the VP’ - Breitbart.com
Email exchanges between Joe Biden’s family and business associates show the Bidens planning to cash in on the family name in an academic venture with the University of Delaware while discussing ways to carefully distance Joe himself from financial documents outlining the deal.
Team Biden was to receive $12.5 million for the establishment of the Biden Institute at the University of Delaware (UD), which launched shortly after Joe Biden left the vice presidency in 2017. The arrangement meant a nice payday for the Bidens and their associates. And, as it turned out, the launch of the Biden Institute coincided with a bonanza in foreign money donations for the university. Correspondences show that UD wanted Joe Biden to raise funds for the university after his institute opened.
In the weeks and months following the opening of the Institute, UD received foreign cash donations totaling more than $33 million, including $6.7 million from China Of that sum, three gifts came directly from the Chinese Communist government. (Read more)

8. SBF Charged With Funneling $40M In Crypto To Bribe CCP Officials - ZeroHedge
Federal prosecutors in Manhattan have hit FTX founder Sam Bankman Fried ("SBF") with a new 13-count indictment accusing him of funneling $40 million in cryptocurrency to 'one or more' Chinese government officials, in order to "influence and induce them" to unfreeze Alameda Research trading accounts holding over $1 billion in crypto.
He is accused of conspiring to violate anti-bribery provisions of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
In the Tuesday court filing, prosecutors asked US District Judge Lewis Kaplan to arrange a court hearing in order to arraign Bankman-Fried on the new charges.
"The S5 Indictment, which was unsealed this morning, includes the twelve counts contained in the S3 Superseding Indictment, as well an additional count for conspiracy to violate the anti-bribery provisions of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act ('FCPA'), in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 371," reads a letter to the judge, Coindesk reports. The Nuclear Option
The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, April 3, 2023
In wake of the news that a New York Grand Jury handed down an indictment of President Trump, there is a lot of political maneuvering. Republicans say that the indictment is no less than election interference against Joe Biden’s most serious opponent. It does appear to be a communist-style move to politically assassinate a political opponent. Having sat on a grand jury for a year, there is more to it than Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg snapping his fingers and getting an indictment. The grand jury heard witnesses for the prosecution, not the defense, and were able to question the witnesses. In the end, the grand jury voted on whether there was enough evidence to get a conviction. A lot of people were involved.
Politics can take many forms. Certainly, Bragg was supported by the Democratic Party mob that has been trying to end Trump’s career since before it started. And be sure to remember that so far every accusation that has been brought against Trump was proven false or was railroaded through the kangaroo court of Democratic Party controlled impeachment trials. In fact, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama used the government courts to get spy warrants on Trump’s campaign and Clinton and the Democratic National Committee actually paid for the false dossier that was used to get the warrant. All of it was supposed to prove that Trump was in collusion with Russia—which in reality, it was Clinton that was benefiting millions in influence peddling with Russia when she was Secretary of State. No indictment. No Conviction. Read More

Full 'Pink' Moon to rise Wednesday night
|
|
The first full moon of astronomical spring will take center stage in the sky on Wednesday night, although it may appear different than its nickname would suggest.
April is underway, and there is an assortment of upcoming astronomical events ranging from a planetary alignment to spring’s inaugural meteor shower. The first big night sky event of the month is about to unfold, and it will be quite easy to spot.
The full moon will rise on the evening of Wednesday, April 5, into the morning on Thursday, April 6, the first full moon since the vernal equinox on March 20, which marked the official start of astronomical spring.
A common nickname for April's full moon is the Pink Moon, although the moon will not glow in pink hues on Wednesday night.
The nickname can be traced to the emerging flora following the winter months. Specifically, the Pink Moon is named after the wildflower ground phlox, which is one of the first flowers to bloom in North America and has pink and purple petals. Read More

TN Senate Unanimously Votes to Add 'In God We Trust' to State Seal
|
|
The Tennessee state Senate unanimously voted on Monday to add "In God We Trust" to the state seal. The measure has now been sent to the House's State Government Committee. WJHL-TV reports State Senator Rusty Crowe (R-Johnson City) and State Representative John Holsclaw (R-Elizabethton) introduced Senate Bill 0420 and House Bill 0771 respectively. The measure has been placed on the committee's calendar for March 29, according to the outlet.
Crowe told WJHL in January while the current seal "reflects the importance of agriculture and commerce" in Tennessee, it could benefit from putting God first. "Many of my constituents feel as I do that our seal should also reflect the importance of God as a constant reminder that our state's agriculture, commerce, politics, and economic fortunes are tied to its spiritual faith," he explained. If the bill passes the House, the measure also requires Gov. Bill Lee to submit a design for the new state seal by July 1, 2025. (CBN) Read more

We declare that this important, symbolic act will spread across every state in our nation with the words "In God We Trust" permeating not only each State Seal but every aspect of government! O For a Thousand Tongues to Sing
To listen to this classic hymn, CLICK HERE
Words: Charles Wesley
Music: Carl Glaser
Scripture: I…heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands. Revelation 5:11
Lyrics:
O for a thousand tongues to sing
My great Redeemer’s praise,
The glories of my God and king,
The triumphs of His grace!
My gracious master and my God,
Assist me to proclaim,
To spread through all the earth abroad
The honors of Thy name.
Jesus! the name that charms our fears,
That bids our sorrows cease;
’Tis music in the sinner’s ears,
’Tis life, and health, and peace.
He breaks the power of canceled sin,
He sets the prisoner free;
His blood can make the foulest clean,
His blood availed for me.
Hear Him, ye deaf; His praise, ye dumb,
Your loosened tongues employ;
Ye blind, behold your Savior come,
And leap, ye lame, for joy.
In Christ your head, you then shall know,
Shall feel your sins forgiven;
Anticipate your heaven below,
And own that love is heaven.
Glory to God, and praise and love
Be ever, ever given,
By saints below and saints above,
The church in earth and Heaven.
Sudden expired the legal strife,
’Twas then I ceased to grieve;
My second, real, living life
I then began to live.
Then with my heart I first believed,
Believed with faith divine,
Power with the Holy Ghost received
To call the Savior mine.
Look unto Him, ye nations, own
Your God, ye fallen race;
Look, and be saved through faith alone,
Be justified by grace.
See all your sins on Jesus laid:
The Lamb of God was slain,
His soul was once an offering made
For every soul of man.
With me, your chief, ye then shall know,
Shall feel your sins forgiven;
Anticipate your heaven below,
And own that love is heaven.
