‘The Chosen’ Pulls Off Record-Breaking Debut as Season Five Premieres in Theaters

Millions flocked to the proverbial table for the box-office debut of “The Chosen: Last Supper.” The season-five theatrical release of the series based on the life of Jesus pulled off a surprise performance for its opening weekend, raking in $11.5 million across across 2,478 theaters around the country, according to Box Office Mojo. After its three-day run, “The Chosen: Last Supper,” the first part of a three-part premiere, earned itself a third-place finish, following behind its new-release competitor, “A Working Man,” an action movie starring Jason Statham, and Disney’s live-action “Snow White,” a holdover from the week before.
“The Chosen” release far outshined fellow faith-based film, “The Last Supper,” with which it shares no connection. The latter movie was distributed by Pinnacle Peak Pictures, a studio founded by David A.R. White of Pure Flix fame, and promoted by worship leader and recording artist Chris Tomlin. As for “The Chosen,” this past weekend’s theatrical release marks the best premiere for the series, since it began debuting in theaters. “The Chosen: Last Supper” pulled ahead of its previous record-holder, the theatrical release of episodes one and two of season three of “The Chosen” in 2022. The fifth season of “The Chosen” centers on the events of Holy Week, dramatically depicting the final days of Jesus’ life leading to His crucifixion. Supreme Court rules on status of tens of thousands of fired probationary employees

The Supreme Court on Tuesday sided with the Trump administration and upheld the mass firing of tens of thousands of probationary federal employees, granting a request for an emergency administrative stay on a lower court order blocking the firings.
The majority of the high court ruled that the plaintiffs, nine non-profit organizations who had sued to reinstate the employees, lacked standing to sue.
"The District Court’s injunction was based solely on the allegations of the nine non-profit-organization plaintiffs in this case. But under established law, those allegations are presently insufficient to support the organizations’ standing," the court said in an order.
Justice Sonia Sotomayor and Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson would have denied the application for a stay.
In their final brief to the Supreme Court, government attorneys argued that lower courts overstepped their authority by ordering the reinstatement of probationary employees last month.
The legal battle stems from the termination of an estimated 16,000 probationary federal employees since President Donald Trump took office, prompting a wave of lawsuits from Democrat-led states and former workers.
Probationary employees are particularly vulnerable to termination because they lack the civil service protections granted to full-time federal workers, which typically take effect after a designated period of service. (Fox News) Read more.

The federal judge who blocked the Trump administration's use of a 1798 wartime law to immediately deport Venezuelan nationals canceled a planned Tuesday court hearing to review the case after the Supreme Court handed a win to the president.
In a minute order published Tuesday morning, U.S. District Judge James Boasberg announced that the previously scheduled Tuesday afternoon hearing would be vacated in light of the high court's ruling, which determined, among other things, that the "appropriate venue for such proceedings is the Southern District of Texas," or wherever plaintiffs that are subject to potential removal are currently being held.
At issue in the case was Trump's use of the Alien Enemies Act, a 1798 wartime immigration law, to immediately deport Venezuelan nationals, including alleged members of the Tren de Aragua gang. (Fox News) Read more here.

Stocks Soar After Strong Demand in Treasury Auction and Tariff Pause

Wall Street surged Wednesday after a blowout 10-year Treasury auction helped calm fears of a financial crisis, delivering a sharp rebuke to doomsayers who predicted foreign investors would flee American assets in protest of President Donald Trump’s trade agenda, and President Trump announced a pause in tariff hikes on some countries.
The Dow jumped 5.9 percent, the S&P 500 rose 7.3 percent, and the Nasdaq soared 8.9 percent, capping a dramatic rebound from a week of steep losses triggered by spiking bond yields and escalating global tariffs.
The spark? A remarkably strong $39 billion auction of 10-year Treasury notes. The bonds sold at a yield of 4.435 percent, lower than expected, with a significant stop-through—a sign that investors were eager to buy even below prevailing market rates. Foreign buyers, classified as “indirect bidders,” scooped up 88 percent of their allocation, far exceeding historical norms.
Analysts characterized the auction as “very strong.”
At the same time, Donald Trump said on social media that he would pause tariff hikes for 90 days on countries that were not retaliating against the U.S. tariffs announced last week. The 10 percent baseline tariff will remain.
For days, Wall Street had been gripped by panic that Trump’s tariff offensive would spark a “sell America” rout, with foreign creditors—especially China and Japan—dumping Treasurys. Through his implementation of tariffs, inequalities that have been limiting America's financial wealth for decades are now coming to an end. Father God, we ask You to continue going before our President, preparing world leaders to understand that trade with the US is vital to their own countries financial stability, that they have a vested interest in negotiating a working arrangement with us that includes tariffs.
Lord God, we ask You to continue to give President Trump the confidence to know when he has heard Your directions no matter how much pushback the ideas might create. Bring him into a knowingness of Your voice and Your presence, let Your peace cover his mind, heart, spirit, emotions and body. 1. IDF advances in Gaza, expands buffer zone to pressure Hamas, but no fighting taking place - Times of Israel
RAFAH, Gaza Strip — Little to no fighting has taken place in the Gaza Strip since the Israeli military resumed its offensive on the Hamas terror group several weeks ago.
The Israel Defense Forces has advanced in the Strip’s south, capturing the so-called Morag Corridor, located between the Palestinian cities of Rafah and Khan Younis; vastly expanded its buffer zone along the Gaza border; carried out over 1,000 airstrikes on Hamas targets, eliminating more than 40 senior officials and mid-level commanders; and located several new tunnels.
The current offensive is aimed at “increasing the pressure on Hamas for the sake of releasing the hostages” and preparing the ground for Israel’s plan to “defeat Hamas,” Defense Minister Israel Katz told reporters on Wednesday during a visit to the Morag Corridor, an area where the IDF has previously not operated. 2. Katz's ultimatum for Hamas: The IDF will move to intense combat in all of Gaza - Israel National News
Minister of Defense Israel Katz visited the Morag Corridor in the Gaza Strip on Wednesday, together with the Commanding Officer of the Southern Command, Major General Yaniv Asor, the Commander of the 36th Division, Brigadier General Moran Omer, and other commanders.
During the visit, the commanders in the field briefed the Defense Minister on IDF operations in the area and the progress in its seizure.
Katz stated: "I came here today to support the commanders and soldiers of the IDF who are fighting with determination to free the hostages and hurt Hamas's strength. The IDF is eliminating terrorists, locating and eliminating terrorist infrastructure, and dividing the Gaza Strip, even in places like the Morag Corridor where we haven't operated in the past."
He added: "The Gazan population is leaving the combat zones and many territories are being siezed and added to the State of Israel's security zones and Gaza is being left smaller and isolated. If Hamas continues in its refusal and will not release the hostages soon, the IDF will move to intense combat in all of Gaza until the hostages are released and Hamas is defeated. (Read more)

3. IDF launches raid on Balata Camp - Israel Hayom
The IDF began an operation overnight Tuesday-Wednesday in Nablus and the adjacent Balata refugee camp, as part of the broader "Iron Wall" campaign to root out terrorism in Judea and Samaria.
Participating in the current operation are three battalions and two special forces units: Maglan, Duvdevan, the Nahal Brigade's 931st Battalion, two reserve battalions, and a Border Police unit. The forces are concentrating on capturing wanted suspects and identifying sensitive targets, with the broader aim being a full-scale raid on Balata, similar to the one carried out in Jenin several weeks ago. With the holiday approaching, the IDF is stepping up readiness, entering Nablus and Balata with the goal of maintaining control over the area.
The Iron Wall campaign has been ongoing for approximately three months in northern Samaria, with a focus on terrorist groups operating in the various camps. While most of the activity has centered on the refugee camps in Jenin, Tulkarem and Nur Shams, the IDF has also carried out operations in other camps, including Far'a near Nablus, as well as in camps inside Nablus itself. The head of the United Nations rejected on Tuesday Israel’s plan to take charge of distributing humanitarian aid in Gaza so that Hamas will be unable to steal it as it has throughout the war.
“The Israeli authorities’ newly proposed ‘authorization mechanisms’ for aid delivery risk further controlling and callously limiting aid down to the last calorie and grain of flour,” Secretary-General Antonio Guterres charged at a journalists’ briefing.
The UN would not cooperate in such a case, he said.
“Let me be clear: We will not participate in any arrangement that does not fully respect the humanitarian principles: humanity, impartiality, independence and neutrality,” he said. (Read more)

5. Pro-Hamas Activists Call for ‘Jihad’ in Rally Outside Israeli Embassy in Berlin - Algemeiner
Pro-Hamas activists chanted antisemitic slogans, called for “jihad,” and celebrated “armed struggle” against Israel at a demonstration outside the Israeli embassy in Berlin earlier this week.
The calls for violence came amid new revelations that the German capital has failed to spend millions of euros specifically allocated for combating antisemitism, which has reached record levels across Germany following the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas’s Oct. 7, 2023, massacre across southern Israel.
Approximately 220 Hamas sympathizers reportedly rallied in the Schmargendorf neighborhood, a southwestern area of Berlin, under the slogan “Freedom for Palestine! End the genocide in Gaza!”
According to German media, the protesters chanted, “The people want to declare jihad!” and “Anyone who wants to reclaim the country must carry a weapon,” among other statements calling for violence. Colorado State Rep. Brandi Bradley shared a shocking post on X, Sunday (April 6) regarding a last-minute session to “ram” seemingly anti-parent bills through the state legislature.
“The Colorado Legislature has been called into session today—on the LORDS day—to ram through abortion bills and HB25-1312, the most extreme assault on parental rights and religious freedom we’ve ever seen,” Bradley wrote on X. “If it’s a war on families they want… it’s a war they’re gonna get.”

2. Amazon halts orders for Chinese and Asian products amid tariff concerns - Bloomberg
Amazon.com Inc. has stopped orders for various products manufactured in China and other Asian nations. This move is seen as an effort by the company to lessen its vulnerability to tariffs established by President Donald Trump, according to a document examined by Bloomberg and sources familiar with the situation.
The order cancellations for beach chairs, scooters, air conditioners, and other goods from numerous Amazon vendors came after Trump’s April 2 declaration of his intention to impose tariffs on more than 180 countries and territories. The list of affected regions includes China, Vietnam, and Thailand. The abrupt nature of these cancellations led vendors to believe it was a reaction to the tariffs.
The extent of the cancellations and the variety of merchandise impacted remain unclear. A vendor who has supplied beach chairs made in China to Amazon for over ten years received an email from the company last week. The email, which was examined by Bloomberg, stated that Amazon was cancelling some purchase orders it had made "in error" and asked the vendor not to dispatch them. 3. Third IRS commissioner in past 43 days to leave, most recent one over data sharing with DHS - Just the News
Acting International Revenue Service Commissioner Melanie Krause has resigned following a Trump administration agreement in which the agency will share taxpayer information with Department of Homeland Security officials to help them track down illegal migrants.
Krause informed her staff on Tuesday that she was leaving, according to CNN. The first commissioner to recently leave was Danny Wurful, a Biden administration appointee. He resigned Jan. 20, the day President Trump took office. The next was Douglas O'Donnell, who was appointed to serve as acting commissioner shortly after Wurful resigned. O'Donnell, a career IRS official, announced his retirement Feb. 26.

4. Trump holds together a fractured Cabinet as advisers quibble over tariff strategy - Just The News
Members of Trump’s inner circle have begun to openly feud as the reciprocal tariffs prompt mixed reactions on the world stage. At the core of the division is messaging, namely whether to present the tariffs as a long-term revenue raiser or as part of a negotiating tactic to secure more favorable trade deals with other nations.
On the one hand, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent appears to be the leader of the “making deals” camp while Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and economic advisor Peter Navarro are more bullish on the tariffs for their own merits.

5. Bombshell evidence shows Biden White House directly aided Jack Smith’s J6 probe - Just The News
Just the News Editor in Chief John Solomon reports that Senators Ron Johnson and Chuck Grassley sent a letter to FBI Director Kash Patel and U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi with evidence revealing that the Biden White House directly helped start Special Counsel Jack Smith’s January 6 investigation into President Donald Trump.

6. Leaked Documents Show How The Biden Regime Secretly Allowed Venezuela to Invade the U.S. - The Gateway Pundit
The failed socialist state of Venezuela may seem like an unlikely candidate for invading the United States, yet leaked documents suggest that this is exactly what happened. Television host and independent reporter Emerald Robinson obtained documents that she posted on her Substack about Tren de Aragua and its links to Nicolas Maduro’s criminal regime.
Immediately after taking office, Trump designated Tren de Aragua as a foreign terrorist organization. His executive order stated:
“Over the years, Venezuelan national and local authorities have ceded ever-greater control over their territories to transnational criminal organizations, including TdA.”
However, Robinson obtained a leaked security briefing provided to Trump officials in recent months about the Maduro regime’s closeness to Tren de Aragua. Stupidocrisy: The Democrats War to Allow Voter Fraud

The recent announcement by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) that millions of illegal immigrants were issued social security numbers and that a significant number of them voted in the presidential election reveals the tremendous support in the Democratic Party for voter fraud. The left-leaning media immediately went into overdrive to refute even the concept of illegals voting. The Democratic National Committee, The Democratic Governors Association, and Democratic Party leaders in the Senate and House filed lawsuits claiming that President Trump’s election reforms were unconstitutional. Democrats long have been against election reforms because reforms threaten their ability to cheat.
The Democratic Party has, for the better part of its existence, disenfranchised and suppressed votes—while at the same time accused its opponents of the very same. After the Civil War, the Democratic Party disenfranchised Black Americans with Jim Crow laws. For over 100 years from 1865 to the late 1960s, these laws oppressed black voting, among other racist prohibitions. Many residuals of these laws still remain. Jim Crow Laws allowed arresting Blacks for the smallest of crimes to be incarcerated to hard labor and thereafter never be allowed to vote, thus perpetuating a form of slavery. These laws began to be deconstructed with the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965, although these reforms were opposed by Democrats at all levels of government well into the 1970s. Migrants who entered the U.S. under the Biden-era CBP One app have had their parole protections terminated and ordered to leave the U.S. immediately or face a permanent ban from reentry.
The app was used by nearly 1 million migrants to schedule appointments at official ports of entry before they were paroled into the U.S. The migrants were permitted to seek asylum and given temporary work authorization for two years while they waited for the outcomes of their respective proceedings.
Trump ended the use of the CBP One app to parole migrants on his first day in office. His administration has also paused applications for parole programs and allowed ICE to cancel parole statuses of migrants.
The Trump administration has now begun notifying migrants who used the app, telling them their legal status has been revoked, according to a report by CBS, citing a Homeland Security message the outlet obtained.
"If you do not depart the United States immediately you will be subject to potential law enforcement actions that will result in your removal from the United States — unless you have otherwise obtained a lawful basis to remain here," the message reads, per the outlet.
The notification encourages migrants to sign up for self-deportation through the CBP One app, which is now called CBP Home.
"Again, DHS is terminating your parole. Do not attempt to remain in the United States — the federal government will find you," the notice says. "Please depart the United States immediately." (Fox News) Read more here.

The Trump administration has sacked a senior NATO official who was recommended by a conservative research group to be fired as part of a broader effort to purge wokeness from the Pentagon.
Navy Vice Admiral Shoshana Chatfield, the only woman on NATO’s military committee, was dismissed from the alliance over the weekend without explanation, according to multiple reports. She is one of only a handful of female Navy three-star officers and was the first woman to lead the Naval War College, a job she held until 2023.
Chatfield reportedly got a call from Adm. Christopher Grady, the acting chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and was told the administration wanted to go in a different direction with the job, according to the Associated Press, citing officials. The officials said they believe the decision was made last week by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, but it was unclear whether he received any direction from President Donald Trump. Reuters was first to report on her termination.
Trump and Hegseth have been vocal in their insistence that so-called woke policies are dead and have vigorously sought to remove leaders who promoted diversity, equity and inclusion and to erase DEI programs and online content. US federal agencies to 'unleash' coal energy after Biden 'stifled' it: 'Mine, Baby, Mine'

The Department of Energy, the Department of the Interior and the Environmental Protection Agency are set to announce a bevy of new actions Tuesday afternoon that will "unleash" coal energy following President Donald Trump's signature on an executive order reinvigorating "America’s beautiful clean coal industry," Fox News Digital learned.
"The American people need more energy, and the Department of Energy is helping to meet this demand by unleashing supply of affordable, reliable, secure energy sources — including coal," Department of Energy Secretary Chris Wright said in a Tuesday statement provided to Fox News Digital.
"Coal is essential for generating 24/7 electricity generation that powers American homes and businesses, but misguided policies from previous administrations have stifled this critical American industry," he said. "With President Trump’s leadership, we are cutting the red tape and bringing back common sense."
Trump signed an executive order Tuesday afternoon that will cut through red tape surrounding the coal industry, including directing the National Energy Dominance Council to designate coal as a "mineral," end a current pause to coal leasing on federal lands, promote coal and coal technology exports, and encourage the use of coal to power artificial intelligence initiatives, Fox News Digital learned of the upcoming executive order.
The order also instructs the Department of Justice to identify any to find every "unconstitutional" state or local regulation that is "putting our coal miners out of business," according to Trump.
"Pound for pound, coal is the single most reliable, durable, secure and powerful form of energy," Trump said. "It's cheap, incredibly efficient, high density, and it's almost indestructible. You could drop a bomb on it, and it's going to be there for you to use the next day, which you can't say with any other form of energy." (Fox News) Read more.

3D Scan of Titanic Wreck Uncovers Heroic Sacrifices During Ship’s Final Moments

A shattered porthole, likely smashed by the iceberg, is one of several haunting new details uncovered in a fresh look at Titanic’s 3D scans.
In 2022, the deep-sea mapping company Magellan deployed two remotely operated vehicles 12,500 feet (3,800 meters) beneath the Atlantic Ocean to capture around 715,000 photos of the Titanic. As Gizmodo previously reported, experts compiled the photos into a highly precise digital twin of the wreck, which continues to reveal heartbreaking details of the tragedy that claimed over 1,500 lives more than 11 decades ago.
Magellan’s efforts are detailed in a forthcoming National Geographic documentary titled Titanic: The Digital Resurrection. Fascinatingly, a few previously unknown features have come to light, including new evidence that a heroic team of engineers sacrificed themselves to keep the ship’s lights on as long as possible, as reported by the BBC.
“Titanic is the last surviving eyewitness to the disaster, and she still has stories to tell,” Titanic analyst Parks Stephenson told the BBC.
According to National Geographic, the Titanic’s digital twin represents one of the largest underwater 3D scans ever accomplished. It consists of 16 terabytes of data, equivalent to approximately six million ebooks. The two remotely operated vehicles that took the photos and millions of laser measurements are named Romeo and Juliet (missing an obvious opportunity to name them Rose and Jack). The model is so accurate that researchers can explore its life-sized projection as if they were walking along the ocean floor beside the true wreck. Read More
