The Daily Brief:
Legislative Snapshot

"For the kingdom is the LORD'S: and he is the governor among the nations." (Psalm 22:28)

Today America will witness one of two eclipses that will cross our nation and meet over the State of Texas. The second eclipse will occur on April 8, 2024.
Today's Top Story
Israel calls for evacuation of 1 million Gazans ahead of likely ground op

Israel called on Friday for more than 1 million Gazans to evacuate the northern Gaza Strip, ahead of an anticipated ground offensive to destroy Hamas’s terror capabilities.

IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari told reporters that the evacuation order was meant to limit Palestinian civilian casualties, as the war against Hamas entered its seventh day.

“We are fighting a terror group, not the Gazan population. We don’t want to harm civilians, but we cannot live with Hamas-ISIS rule near our border,” said Hagari on Friday morning. (JNS.org) Read more here.

- Lord God Jehovah, we thank You that Israel has now put the citizens of Gaza on notice that it is time for them to flee to safety. Israel must do what it needs to do in order to defeat Gaza in this war. Let all be done according to Your will, in Your name, amen and amen.

- "There is a time for peace, and a time for war." (Ecclesiastes 3:8)

House GOP to reconvene Monday amid soft
Jordan support

House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan became Republicans’ nominee for speaker Friday, winning a secret-ballot election against Georgia Rep. Austin Scott, a last-minute entrant into the race.

But Jordan’s ability to win the required floor vote to secure the gavel was in some doubt after a rare second ballot showed he wouldn’t win, at least if the vote were held Friday. So GOP lawmakers decided to hold off and take the weekend to sort things out, giving Jordan time to grow his support.

Several members leaving the extended conference meeting Friday afternoon said they thought Jordan would be able to shore up enough support to pull out a win on the floor next week. That includes House Budget Chairman Jodey C. Arrington, R-Texas, who said he thought it would be harder for Jordan critics to vote “no” on the floor because their votes will be public.

“Jim has an outsider, very credible conservative brand among the base across the country,” Arrington said. “And when you take it to the floor, and people are in primaries, I think it becomes more difficult to vote against him if they felt that way than if it were against an incumbent leadership guy like Steve Scalise.”

“I don’t know, but the math is not good” for Jordan, Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart, R-Fla., a Scalise backer, said Friday. “I think ultimately, we’re gonna have to find somebody who can truly unify us.” (Roll Call)

- Father, we know that there is no unity without You, we should not seek to find unity in men, and there is no true path forward for this Nation without seeking You first. Lord, raise up a "Ben Franklin moment" among House Members, as our Nation had during its Constitutional Convention, to firmly put this Nation on a path of truly seeking You. May You be the Person who truly unifies us. Give an outpouring of Your Spirit on our Nation and its leaders, and may this be a time to truly “clean House.”

- “And the children of Israel said to the Lord, We are sinners; do to us whatever seems good to you: only give us salvation this day.” (Judges 10:15)
Germany Offers Direct Military Aid to Israel,

Vows Crackdown on Hamas Terrorist Support at Home

Germany became the first European country to offer direct military aid to Israel on Thursday while promising a crackdown on Hamas terrorist supporters at home.

Chancellor Olaf Scholz underlined Germany’s historical responsibility for Israel’s security as cause for the offer which has already seen the Jewish state request ammunition for its warships and military attack drones.

AP reports the Defense Ministry said it agreed to an Israeli request to use up to two of five Heron TP combat drones currently leased by the German military and were already in Israel for the training of German servicepeople.

Defense Minister Boris Pistorius noted in Brussels that Israel has also requested ammunition for warships, a request that will now be discussed.

“Over 1,000 citizens of Israel have been killed in these terror acts. Thousands of them were severely injured and are fighting for their lives in the hospitals of Israel. In a country with 9 million inhabitants, that means that nearly everybody knows one of the victims,” Scholz said in a speech at the Bundestag, Germany’s lower house of parliament.

“In the whole country of Israel currently, there is mourning … Dear friends in Israel, we mourn with you and we share your suffering,” the chancellor said.

Scholz slammed the actions of Hamas and said Israel was entitled to defend itself. “At this moment, there is only one place for Germany — the place at Israel’s side,” he told lawmakers. (Breitbart) Read more here,

-  Lord God, we call forth the blessing due to the nation of Germany due to its swift response to Israel's crisis, and the sure promise of Your Word.
Thank You, Lord, amen.

And I will curse him who curses you;
And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

DeSantis declares Florida state of emergency after attack on Israel, activates Guard forces
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis declared a state of emergency in Florida Thursday related to the surprise attack on Israel by Hamas and ensuing war, declaring in an executive order that Floridians need help evacuating from Israel and local police agencies need assistance handling pro-Palestinian demonstrations.
DeSantis's executive order says these concerns "constitute a major disaster" and authorizes the leaders of Florida's National Guard and State Guard to activate their forces "as needed" to respond.

Declaring a state of emergency in Florida over an overseas conflict is highly unusual. DeSantis noted in this executive order that "more than 20,000 Americans, including many Floridians, in Israel who wish to return home but have been prevented from doing so because of commercial flight cancellations and other travel and logistics disruptions due to the ongoing war in the region."

DeSantis framed the executive order as "authorizing rescue operations in Israel to bring Floridians home and transport supplies to our allies." The order directs the Florida Division of Emergency Management to charter flights for the operation, Alecia Collins, a spokesperson for the agency, told Politico.

"We will not leave our residents behind," DeSantis tweeted on X. "To the many Floridians who are stuck in Israel, trying to get home — help is on the way." (Herald Tribune) Read more here
- Lord God, we do thank you for Governor Ron DeSantis, who has stepped forward to protect and provide for the citizens in his state who are now stranded in Israel. We ask for grace as he works to evacuate those who wish to return home. We also ask that the governors in all other 49 states in this nation would follow his example, bringing their own citizens home, as needed. And finally, we ask that the House Committee that has jurisdiction over the citizens in Washington, D.C. would also help our citizens return, too. In Your Name, amen.

"Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, 2 for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence."     (I Timothy 2:1,2)
Bold as a Lion: Thousand of Christians March in NYC, Reverent Hymns Echo Through the City

In the wake of Hamas’ barbaric slaughter of innocents over the weekend and with war now raging in the Middle East, some Christians have courageously invited others to find shelter in the only refuge possible this side of Heaven.

In New York City on Tuesday, thousands marched and sang hymns in a Catholic Eucharistic procession.

Their actions called to mind Proverbs 28:1: “The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are bold as a lion.”

The Napa Institute, a Catholic leadership organization in California, posted a clip of the procession to social media showing the faithful, both laity and ordained servants of God, processing by Radio City Music Hall.

As they marched in reverence past that icon of secular broadcasting, many sang hymns often heard only in churches.

Indeed, a Eucharistic procession through the streets of New York amounts to a collective acknowledgment of our fallen nature. But it also reminds us that we have the very help we need. And we have it from only one source.

Of course, as long as we remain in this world, the need for Christ’s help never diminishes.

When we feel that need the most, however — as in times of terror and war — bold public acts of humility such as the one seen this week in New York can remind us that the help we need remains available to all who seek it. (The Western Journal) Read more here

> > > A note from the editor:

We are aware that the mainstream media has been reporting huge,
pro-Palestinian rallies that are taking place across the nation. PLEASE
PRAY FORGIVENESS AND CONFUSION IN THEIR CAMPS.

We are pleased to share this report with you, to know that voices ARE
being heard in the land that worship our own God and King, and that stand with Israel.
- Abba, we lift Your Holy Name and declare Your presence will fall upon the streets of New York and every State within our nation as repentant prayers and hymns are raised! In Jesus name we bind the plans of the enemy against any plots of harm towards our nation or Israel. May planned protests against Your people be brought to nothing! Bring righteousness upon America, transforming hearts and minds according to Your Holy Will and purposes. In the mighty name of Yeshua-Amen

A friend of ours in Israel - who has requested to remain anonymous due to the obvious safety concerns - has asked us to specifically pray in the following manner:

I would pray that God accompany our troops into battle; that He fights alongside them, that He protects them from all harm; that He miraculously brings all the captives home without our needing to release murderers and terrorists in order for that to happen; that He blesses our leaders with courage, wisdom and perseverance to make difficult decisions and not just deter them - so that this never, ever happens again - regardless of what the world may say; that He places within the nations of the world an understanding heart and spirit - at the very least, if they will not help, that they do no harm and not interfere with that which we must do, as difficult and unpleasant as it may end up necessarily being; that He blesses His land and His people with true and lasting peace; a peace where children will no longer need to fear hearing a siren or need to run for shelter; a peace of mind, body, spirit and soul.

May God bless you, the United States of America and may God bless Israel.

Pray for Israel!

Dear Saints,

A lifestyle of REPENTANCE is so close to the heart of God.

Indeed, He commands us to  "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!" Matthew 3:2

How, then, can we approach His Throne of GRACE, in repentance?

We invite you to join us every week on Sunday evening, as we explore this vital topic together. We present a different prayer focus each week, leading us into repentance, so that we might approach His Throne of Grace in repentance, presenting ourselves to Him as a pure and a spotless Bride, without spot or wrinkle. (Ephesians 5:27)

Praying together, we desire to fulfill the mandate of Psalm 139:

" Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; 24 And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting." Psalm 139:24

You can join us, any Sunday evening, at 10:00 p.m. EST by calling:

717-908-1983
Access Code: 9301470#

WELCOME!

". . . and if My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

"Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to the prayer offered in this place."
(2 Chronicles 7:14,15)
