The Supreme Court’s Conservatives Issued a Decision Too Extreme for Clarence Thomas

In a sweeping 5–4 decision, the court stripped Congress of its power to create new rights.

On Friday, the Supreme Court pulled off a heist decades in the making. In TransUnion v. Ramirez, five conservative justices seized Congress’ power to create new individual rights and protect victims by authorizing lawsuits when those rights are violated. Instead, the court awarded itself the power to decide which rights may be vindicated in federal court, overturning Congress’ own decisions about which harms deserve redress.

Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s opinion for the court was so extreme it prompted Justice Clarence Thomas to write a furious dissent, joined by the liberals, that accused the majority of infidelity to the Constitution. But because of the court’s 6–3 conservative supermajority, Thomas’ defection from the conservative bloc did not change the outcome. And now, thanks to Friday’s decision, a huge number of Americans harmed by a flagrant violation of the law will be locked out of the federal judiciary altogether. (SLATE.com) Read more here.

- Father God, we are not attorneys or judges; we are simply Your people, called by Your name, to stand in the gap for our nation and to ask that only just and fair decisions be rendered in our courts -- and especially in the Supreme Court -- on behalf of our people. Lord God, we offer you our prayer language now, as we "pray in the spirit" over this critical issue. Based upon the opinion of Justice Clarence Thomas, this ruling by the Supreme Court violates our rights as given in the Constitution. Thank You, O Lord, for hearing our prayer on this matter today, in Your name, amen and amen.

- "In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans." (Romans 8:26)
In Miami: Israelis Provide Aid and Comfort
Israel providing aid at scene of Florida building collapse, offers rescue team

Israel is providing food, clothes, medication and other aid as rescue teams continued digging through the rubble of a collapsed condo building home to dozens of Jewish families in a Miami suburb, Israel’s Consul General Maor Elbaz-Starinsky told The Times of Israel on Friday. In addition to the aid, he also conveyed an official offer for Israel to send the Israel Defense Force’s Home Front Command search and rescue team to assist in the efforts. Elbaz-Starinsky has been in touch with local authorities but said they had not gotten back to him on the proposal.

Elbaz-Starinsky said that 35 of the 159 people unaccounted for were Jewish. While several had “Israel connections,” he said it was not yet clear whether any of the victims were Israeli citizens. The consul general noted, “the community over here — not only the Jewish and Israeli [communities] — has shown outstanding solidarity. Everyone came together bringing food, blankets and equipment. They even built a kosher kitchen. It’s incredible to see the commitment of everyone to ease, just a little bit, the suffering of the affected families,” Elbaz-Starinsky added.

Israeli President Reuven Rivlin on Friday said he was praying for the victims. “Our prayers are with the families anxiously waiting for news of their loved ones in Miami. We hope for the recovery of the survivors and send heartfelt condolences to those who have lost family members,” Rivlin said.

Earlier Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said he was following the “difficult images” from Florida with concern. “Our Foreign Ministry representatives in Miami and Israel are doing everything possible to assist and address the situation,” he said in a statement. “The entire nation of Israel prays for the safety of those injured and missing in the disaster.” He added: “From here we send support to our brethren in the Jewish community in particular, and to all Florida residents in general, and express our sorrow following this tragic event.” (Times of Israel) Read more.

About S.1 (etc.): from Chuck Schumer
Dear Friends,

On Wednesday, June 23rd -- the day after all debate stopped about the passage of the dangerous "We The People Act) -- S.1, now S. 2093 -- the
Senate Majority Leader made this statement, quoted in the Congressional
Record:

“As the Senate majority leader, I reserve the right to bring up this issue for debate again. Yesterday was the first time we tried to consider major voting rights legislation, but it won't be the last.  Democrats will explore every option available to us for reconsidering legislation on this topic. We will leave no stone unturned. Voting rights are too important. The fight against modern-day voter suppression is just beginning.”

Please go here to read more.

> > > Given this statement, we will remain on watch with you to be sure that,
in the end, any form of the "We the People Act" will never see the light of day.
Thank you.

Is a Cyberpandemic on the Way?

A new kind of virus may be on its way to infecting the world, according to the World Economic Forum. An article posted on June 1, 2020 declares that an attack is inevitable. Both the article and a cybersecurity video from their website states that, “A cyberattack, with COVID-like characteristics, would spread faster and further than any biological virus. Its reproductive ability would be around ten times greater than what we’ve experienced with the corona virus.”  WEF founder and Executive Chairman

To combat this “digital virus” the World Economic Forum will sponsor a cyberattack simulation on July 9, 2021, known as Cyber Polygon. This exercise (role play) will help global organizations and leaders prep for a future cyber pandemic. Before we investigate the details of Cyber Polygon, let’s look at the reasoning behind the event. > > > Prayer points to consider, from IFA:

1. Pray that any hidden plans of the enemy would be revealed and thwarted. Woe to those who plan iniquity, to those who plot evil in their beds. (Micah 2:1)

2. Pray for a supernatural wall of protection over our secure networks, such as those which run our military, healthcare, financial, agricultural and supply chain systems.

3. Pray for divine protection over our power grids, as well as the Internet and other digital communication infrastructure.

The Lord frustrates the plans of the nations and thwarts all their schemes. But the Lord’s plans stand firm forever; his intentions can never be shaken. What joy for the nation whose God is the Lord, whose people he has chosen as his inheritance. The Lord looks down from heaven and sees the whole human race. From his throne he observes all who live on the earth. (Psalm 33:10-14)

Our Weekly Call to Repentance

CHPP Welcomes You to Join Us Every Week in One Hour of Repentance

Sunday evening at 10:00 p.m. EDT
Dial 712-770-5350
Access Code: 150411#

Dear Saints,

A lifestyle of REPENTANCE is so close to the heart of God.

Indeed, He commands us to  "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!" Matthew 3:2

How, then, can we approach His Throne of GRACE, in repentance?

We invite you to join us every week on Sunday evening, as we explore this vital topic together. We present a different prayer focus each week, leading us into repentance, so that we might approach His Throne of Grace in repentance, presenting ourselves to Him as a pure and a spotless Bride, without spot or wrinkle. (Ephesians 5:27)

Praying together, we desire to fulfill the mandate of Psalm 139:

" Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; 24 And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting." Psalm 139:24

You can join us, any Sunday evening, at 10:00 p.m. EST by calling:

712-770-5350
Access Code: 150411#

WELCOME!

". . . and if My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

"Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to the prayer offered in this place."
(2 Chronicles 7:14,15)
