A nine-page report from structural engineering firm Morabito Consultants in October 2018 was released by the City of Surfside, warning about conditions in the building. It included photos of the cracking. (City of Surfside) Go Here to see the Full Report
Death Toll Rises to 9; Engineer Warned About ‘Major Structural Damage’ Before Condo Collapse

The death toll from the collapse of a Miami-area condominium tower has risen to nine, Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava said June 27.

More than 150 people remain missing following the collapse on June 24.

Meanwhile, officials released a report from 2018 that included a warning from an engineer about “major structural damage” and the tower needing $9 million in repairs.

Now, a nine-page report from structural engineering firm Morabito Consultants in October 2018 has been released by the City of Surfside, warning about the condition of the concrete structure.

“Abundant cracking and spalling of varying degrees was observed in the concrete columns, beams, and walls. Several sizable spalls were noted in both the topside of the entrance drive ramp and underside of the pool/entrance drive/planter slabs, which included instances with exposed, deteriorating rebar,” states the report, which was released over the weekend. “Though some of this damage is minor, most of the concrete deterioration needs to be repaired in a timely fashion. All cracking and spalling located in the parking garage shall be repaired in accordance with the recommendations of [International Concrete Repair Institute].”

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said over the weekend that he had spoken to Surfside Mayor Charles Burkett and was considering evaluating the nearby Champlain Towers North, regarded as a sister building to Champlain Towers South.

That sister building, the governor told reporters, “was built at the same time and with the same designer.” Previously, DeSantis made an emergency declaration over the collapse, which was then authorized by President Joe Biden.

In another interview, Burkett told CNN that he has recommended that the sister building be evacuated pending a thorough structural investigation.

“Because I don’t think people need to live with the possibility or the thought that their” building may collapse, Burkett said.

“It had the same developer, it probably had the same materials, they probably had the same plans, and people are asking me, ‘Is the building safe?’ and I can’t tell them it is safe,” he said. (Read more)

- Father God, we are all heartsick over this news from south Florida; and we are seeking Your face to know why? Lord God, could this disaster be a "wake up call" to all of us that . . . we never know when our time will come to be ushered into eternity . . . perhaps without warning.

Lord God, help us to examine our hearts carefully, that we might repent and "get right with You," while there is still time to do so. Let us reach out to others with words of comfort and peace; and let us be quick to share the Gospel with all, as You would give us opportunity to do so.

Holy God, let not this disaster end without a redemptive purpose. May many be rescued and saved as a result of this news. In Your Name we pray, amen and amen.

- "And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ . . ."  (Colossians 4:3)
FOCUS ON ISRAEL

1. President Rivlin Heads to the United States for Last Trip as Head of State - Algemeiner

i24 News – Israel’s President Reuven Rivlin flew to the United States on Saturday evening, where he will meet his American counterpart Joe Biden, as well as members of Congress and senior United Nations officials on a final overseas visit as head of state.

“I am leaving for the last time as president and on behalf of the State of Israel on a farewell visit to Israel’s closest ally and friend in the world — the United States of America,” Rivlin said.

“During my visit, I will meet President Joe Biden, a true friend of the State of Israel for many years, and I will thank him for his constant concern for the security of Israel and its citizens,” he said.

“I will also be holding meetings at the UN to discuss regional issues on our calendar and meet with the American Jewish community that is so dear to our hearts,” he added.

Rivlin is due to land in New York on Sunday morning and in the evening meet with leaders of major Jewish organizations in Manhattan, as well as Israel’s ambassador to the United States and the UN Gilad Erdan.

He will travel to Washington on Monday morning for talks with Joe Biden in the Oval Office before a meeting with Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, as well as other congressional leaders from both parties. (Read more)

2. Israel gives China a little taste of its own medicine at UN - JNS

(June 25, 2021 / JNS) In a rare move, reportedly due to U.S. pressure, Israel joined a declaration this week criticizing China at the U.N. Human Rights Council (UNHRC) over human-rights abuses against Muslims living in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region. Israel’s new message to China seems to be: “If you do not stop voting against us at the U.N., we will start voting against you.”

While many are touting this as a new policy, Israeli Ambassador to the United States and the United Nations Gilad Erdan is believed to have sent China this very warning back in October 2020. Erdan reportedly asked his Chinese counterpart to stop supporting resolutions against Israel; otherwise, Israel will “retaliate” with its own condemnations.

So while the policy might not be new, Israel signing onto the condemnation is certainly a step in a new direction.

Roie Yellinek, a researcher at the Begin-Sadat Center for Strategic Studies who specializes in the relationship between the Middle East and China, told JNS that “this is not a random decision and is not a surprise.”

3. Israel’s Ambassador to the US, Gilad Erdan Resigns - Jewish Press

Israel’s Ambassador to the United States and the United Nations, Gilad Erdan, notified Prime Minister Naftali Bennett on Sunday that he is resigning his post representing Israel to Washington DC.

“It is my opinion that the government’s representative to the United States administration should be appointed by the current government,” Erdan said in a statement.

The ambassador is slated to join with outgoing President Reuven Rivlin this week in his farewell meetings with President Joe Biden, United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and various other ambassadors and Jewish leaders. Rivlin arrived in New York City early Sunday morning. (Read more)

4. New coronavirus cabinet to convene Sunday, review options as infections rise - Times of Israel

The new government’s coronavirus cabinet will convene for the first time on Sunday, as ministers review possible steps to deal with the resurgent pandemic as a result of the fast-spreading Delta variant.

According to Channel 12 news, the Health Ministry will present the cabinet with two main strategies: the first, to quickly introduce fresh limitations to bring down morbidity; the second, to avoid limitations in the public and the economy so long as there is no significant rise in seriously ill patients.

According to the network, the cabinet is likely to pick the second strategy, while boosting testing and contact tracing for confirmed cases as well as enacting stricter enforcement on air travelers, who are seen as a major vector for new cases. (Read more)

5. Israel sends IDF team to Florida to assist with tower collapse rescue efforts - Times of Israel

The Israel Defense Forces sent a search and rescue delegation to Florida to assist with rescue efforts following the Surfside residential building collapse that left at least four dead and nearly 160 still missing.

The team of Home Front Command soldiers headed to Florida following a series of talks over the weekend between Israeli defense officials and officials in Miami, the Defense Ministry said in a statement on Saturday night.

Defense Minister Benny Gantz said the move was approved in coordination with the Foreign Ministry.

“As with any national mission, the IDF and the defense establishment are ready to respond, act and assist. Every effort will be made to save lives, support the Jewish community and our friend the United States,” Gantz said. (Read more)

1. Iran-Backed Militia in Iraq, Syria Hit by US Air Strikes - Jerusalem Post

The United States said on Sunday it carried out another round of air strikes against Iran-backed militia in Iraq and Syria in response to drone attacks by the militia against U.S. personnel and facilities in Iraq.

In a statement, the U.S. military said it targeted operational and weapons storage facilities at two locations in Syria and one location in Iraq. It did not disclose whether it believed anyone was killed or injured but officials said assessments were ongoing.

The strikes came at the direction of President Joe Biden, the second time he has ordered retaliatory strikes against Iran-backed militia since taking office five months ago. Biden last ordered limited strikes in Syria in February, that time in response to rocket attacks in Iraq.

“As demonstrated by this evening’s strikes, President Biden has been clear that he will act to protect U.S. personnel,” the Pentagon said in a statement.

The strikes came even as Biden’s administration is looking to potentially revive a 2015 nuclear deal with Iran.

His critics say Iran cannot be trusted and point to the drone attacks as further evidence that Iran and its proxies will never accept a U.S. military presence in Iraq or Syria.

Biden and the White House declined comment on the strikes on Sunday.

2. Letter Signed By 73 House Democrats Calls On Biden To Reverse Trump's Pro-Israel Policies - I24news

A letter signed by 73 Democrats in the US House of Representatives calls on US President Joe Biden to "reverse" the Trump administration's pro-Israel policies, including his peace plan to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

The letter, sent to the White House on Wednesday, urges to Biden to refer to Israeli settlements as illegal under international law and to Gaza and the West Bank as "occupied" in official US documents and communications.

"We urge you to reverse the previous administration's abandonment of longstanding, bipartisan United States policy," the letter states.

Signatories to the letter include seven committee chairs and seven Jewish Democrats, including Rep. Jan Schakowsky of Illinois, who initiated it along with representatives Gerry Connolly of Virginia and Peter Welch of Vermont. (Read more)

- Father God, we pray You will send angels to stand guard over all the Pro-Israel Policies that President Trump set in place.  God, let nothing dislodge these policies by the Biden administration.  Protect Israel, my God, and solidify all that has been done so that nothing can change what President Trump set up to support Israel.  In the Name of Jesus we pray.

- "It is an abomination to kings to commit wickedness: for the throne is established by righteousness.  Righteous lips are the delight of kings; and they love him that speaks right." ( Proverbs 16:12-13)

3.  Amid uproar, US denies change in policy recognizing Golan Heights as Israeli - The Times of Israel

The US State Department on Friday denied that the Biden administration planned to rescind recognition of Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights, after a false report sparked an uproar in Israel.

“US policy regarding the Golan has not changed, and reports to the contrary are false,” State Department’s Near Eastern Affairs Department tweeted.

Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Yair Lapid said the claim that the Biden administration was walking back former president Donald Trump’s recognition of Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights was part of efforts to harm Israel’s ties to the US and undermine the new government.

The rumor spread after a spurious report in a far-right US news site was picked up by some mainstream Israeli news outlets, leading to an outcry from several politicians.

“The Golan Heights is a strategic asset and an integral part of the sovereign State of Israel. The United States recognized our sovereignty over the Golan Heights and its strategic importance to Israel’s security,” Lapid said.

“Anyone spreading rumors about the rescinding of this recognition harms [our] security, harms the [US] declaration of sovereignty and is willing (not for the first time) to cause real damage to the State of Israel and its relations with the United States — all for the sake of harming the new government,” Lapid said in a statement. - Almighty God, we pray for reinforcement angels from heaven be sent to earth to fight this battle of wickedness against Israel and the Golan Heights being inclusive as a part of Israel.  God, You put Your Name in Israel and we pray to God, the highest authority in Israel and the world, to hold them in Your hands so that nothing known to man, can win who are warring against Israel and the Golan Heights.  We pray in the Name of Jesus.

- "God shall send from heaven and save Israel from the reproach of him that would swallow it up.  God shall send forth His mercy and His truth."  (Psalm 57:3)

4. At the border, Harris focuses on 'root causes' but offers no plan to halt migrant surge - Washington Examiner

Vice President Kamala Harris used her Friday visit to the border to claim the Biden administration had made progress handling the surge in migrants attempting to reach the United States but said little on how the White House intends to halt the flow — or even slow it down.

She praised efforts to speed processing times for newly arrived migrants and touted her work targeting the factors driving people to leave their home countries in record numbers.

"I am meeting with a lot of folks, and the work that we have begun is the work that is going to be ongoing," Harris said, with long-term investment in the Western Hemisphere a crucial component.

Tasked with forging a diplomatic solution to the surge, Harris met with leaders in Mexico and Guatemala this month. She announced private-sector investments in the region in a bid to boost economic opportunity as well as aid to groups working to fight corruption. Both problems are viewed by administration officials as major drivers of migration.

As they work to quell these medium- and long-term drivers, hundreds of thousands of migrants continued to make their way northward to the U.S.

In May, more than 180,000 people were apprehended after crossing the southern border, according to federal data, a spike that has been trending upward. (Read more)

- Father, while Harris is focused on root causes, bring forth someone else with problem solving skills that can take action on the surge that happens everyday at the border!

"This was because an extraordinary spirit, knowledge and insight, interpretation of dreams, explanation of enigmas and solving of difficult problems were found in this Daniel, whom the king named Belteshazzar. Let Daniel now be summoned and he will declare the interpretation.”  (Daniel 5:12-16)
5. Biden: 'Pride is back at the White House' - The Hill

President Biden celebrated Pride Month at the White House on Friday and called for actions to protect the LGBT community, including Senate passage of the Equality Act.

“Our presence here this afternoon makes a simple, strong statement: Pride is back at the White House,” Biden said in prepared remarks.

Biden said Pride Month is about “being able to love yourself, love whoever you love, and love this country enough to make it more fair and more free and more just." (Read more)

6. Biden: Dragging the Military into a New Era - Family Research Council

At Nellis Air Force Base last week, pilots were gathered around a different kind of runway. That's because the southern Nevada post, home to one of the most advanced air combat programs in the service, made the controversial decision to host its first-ever drag queen show. To the amusement of America's enemies, some of our most skilled servicemen and women spent their Thursday night "discover[ing] the significance of drag in the LGBT+ community" at a base club -- a lesson sure to please their transgender activist-in-chief.

Welcome to the Biden military: you can't have a Bible on the table, but you can have heels in your footlocker. An Air Force veteran posted a picture of the digital flyer over the weekend, which read, "DRAG-U-NELLIS" and "CLASS IS IN SESSION" surrounded by pictures of Coco Montrese, Makena Knight, and Alexis Mateo. "I guess the airmen at Nellis have completely mastered air and ground combat, so they can relax with an event that has grown men in dresses twerking; very cool!" he tweeted.

Of course, the irony is that while the military defends drag queen acts on military installations, they aren't extending Christians troops the same tolerance. At least two active-duty service members -- Lt. Colonel Matthew Lohmeire and Chaplain Andrew Calvert -- have been fired or suspended in the last few weeks for daring to talk openly about the Pentagon's new policies. "My Republican colleagues and I hear regularly from active duty and retired service members that even holding conservative values is now enough to endanger a service member's military career," Rep. Mike Rogers (Ala.) told Politico. He and his GOP colleagues are racing to put together legislation that would combat the wave of targeting and censorship.

In the meantime, conservatives watch helplessly as the proud warfighting ethos that Donald Trump restored is replaced with a circus of LGBT activism. . . (Read more)

Father, we once again ask You to guide us through this attack on conservative values and the outright support of perversion by this current administration! Help us stand strong in this time of persecution and not bow to the pressure of the media, nor bow to the values of the Biden administration that are against Your Word.

- "Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution."                 (2 Timothy 3:12)

7.  (At the VA) The Lies We Pay For - Family Research Council

The Department of Veterans Affairs hasn't wasted this many taxpayer dollars since the Obama administration. On Saturday, Veterans Affairs Secretary Denis McDonough announced the VA would start the regulatory ball rolling on conducting transgender surgeries for veterans in their taxpayer-funded hospitals. The announcement was an early Father's Day gift for the transgender lobby -- although they probably are working to have the holiday renamed Happy Care-giver 1 or 2 Day.

It was only a matter of time before the Left's social experimentation in the military spilled over to other agencies. In the waning months of the Obama administration, LGBT activists in the military overturned longstanding policies to not only welcome people struggling with gender dysphoria, but also to pay for their reassignment procedures -- wasting taxpayer dollars and compromising America's military readiness in response. President Trump reversed the Obama administration's decision, but President Biden has both reinstated Obama's policy in the military and directed the VA to follow suit with this redirection of limited resources from vital services.

The Biden administration has weaponized the VA to advance its "radical, extreme agenda," Representative Matt Rosendale (R-Mont.) said on "Washington Watch." In addition to gender reassignment, the VA is also considering financing abortions. Rosendale led 137 Republican members of Congress in urging VA Secretary McDonough against funding abortions for veterans at taxpayer expense. "It's just stunning and frightening for the party that proclaims their belief in science" to toss science overboard, said Rosendale. (Read more)

- Father, we are deeply Grieved over tax payers funding transgender surgeries. We intercede for our country, in Jesus name.

8. Critical Race Theory violates 1964 Civil Rights Act - WND

The Marxist-based Critical Race Theory, which divides the world between the oppressors and the oppressed, may infringe on constitutional rights and even violate civil rights laws, warned Carol Swain, a former political science professor and vice chairman for President Trump's 1776 Commission.

The primary tenet of CRT is that "all white people are considered oppressors who benefit from undeserved advantages," she told the Epoch Times in an interview on EpochTV's "Crossroads" program. "The demonization of one group of people because of the color of their skin is something that is discriminatory," said Swain, who taught at Princeton and Vanderbilt universities.

She argued that the Civil Rights Act of 1964 protects everyone, including white people, from discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion and disability. We’re not a country where it's acceptable to bully and shame people because of the color of their skin," she said.

In addition, the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment guarantees certain protections to all people, even non-citizens. So, if any public institution, including a university, moves to restrict people’s speech or behavior, it could be a First Amendment violation, Swain said.

Swain said the "true story of America is a story of blacks and whites working together to overcome that tragic part of our history."

In February, Swain warned that having already "destroyed" higher education, the political left is ramping up its effort to fundamentally transform K-12 schooling, teaching children that anything associated with Western Civilization is dangerous. (Read more)

- Father, we pray Critical race theory will be defeated in our schools which divide our nation even further. Protect our children and youth, In Jesus name.

- "Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them: “Any kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and a house divided against itself will fall." (Luke 11:17)

9. Mike Pompeo reflects on efforts to further religious liberty, vows to stay in 'important fight' for 'soul' of US - Christian Post

Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo reflected on his efforts to further religious freedom and promote peace during his time serving under the Trump administration and vowed to “stay in this important fight that we are all in for the soul of our country.”

“One of the things that I'm most proud of that we did is that we addressed the world that we saw, not the one we wished existed. We were very realistic about the things we could have an impact on,” Pompeo told Jewish-evangelical author Joel C. Rosenberg during a Thursday morning interview at the annual National Religious Broadcasters convention.

. . . “When a nation won’t protect its own, when it puts a million Muslims in camps and forces abortions, forces sterilizations, imprisons them, separates [them] from their family, when it knocks down Christian churches inside of its own country and abuses Catholic leaders … what we did as a foreign policy matter was recognize that evil [and] call it out. So I declared that genocide was taking place and is ongoing inside of China,” he said.

But the Biden administration, he said, has a “different take” on how to address conflicts in the Middle East.

“They are sitting in Vienna, if not today, [then] next week, working with the Iranian regime to create a pathway for Iran to have a nuclear weapon,” Pompeo said. “… That is absolutely staggering. It’s bad for our friend and ally, Israel, it’s bad for the Gulf states, and it’s really bad for the United States as well.”

Iran’s regime is “not going to change their ways with carrots,” he emphasized, noting that the Trump administration left the country “more isolated when we left office than they had ever been in their history.” (Read more)

- Righteous Father God, we pray that You will strengthen Mike Pompeo in his fight to promote religious freedom and peace.  Sustain him with a double portion of the Holy Spirit's power to stand tall and win the fight for the soul of America.  Walk before him, Lord God.  Guide him daily to push toward the goal of protecting our country.  In the Name of Jesus.

- "I am the first, I also am the last.  My hand also has laid the foundation of the earth, and My right hand has spanned the heavens: when I call unto them, they stand up together."  (Israel 48:12-13)
He Wave Stifles the Northwest

Record highs shattered as unprecedented heat wave stifles the Northwest

To say it's hot in the Northwest is an understatement. Temperatures have already soared to levels never been experienced in recorded history in this part of the United States -- and AccuWeather meteorologists say the summer sizzle hasn't even reached its peak.

AccuWeather's team of expert forecasters were describing the then upcoming heat wave as "unprecedented", "life-threatening" and "historic" as early as the middle of last week, and these descriptions have been accurate in the early stages of the Northwest scorcher.

Saturday was just the beginning of the extended stretch of extreme temperatures. Portland, Oregon, recorded its hottest day ever, climbing to a sizzling 108 degrees Fahrenheit. The previous all-time record high was 107 set once in July of 1965 and twice in August of 1981.

The city is not only expected to obliterate its daily record highs of 98 and 100 on Sunday and Monday, respectively, but also blow by the newly set all-time record high of 108. AccuWeather is predicting a high of 115 on Sunday and 114 on Monday, which would make these dates the first and second hottest days ever recorded in the city, with Saturday then marking the third hottest. The highest temperature ever recorded in the state of Oregon is 117, which was set in Umatilla on July 27, 1939.

"Temperatures of 110 F or greater are virtually unheard of west of the Cascades," AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Randy Adkins noted.

Seattle soared to its own impressive heights on Saturday as the thermometer skyrocketed to 102, making June 26 the second hottest day in the city since records began and shattering the city's June record high of 96. The Emerald City will easily eclipse Sunday and Monday's daily records, which stand in the lower 90s, and likely set new marks for the first and second hottest days in recorded history. Sunday's high is predicted to be a scorching 104, with Monday expected to be even hotter at 110.

Temperatures this high are downright life threatening, especially for more vulnerable populations such as the elderly and homeless, as well as those without air conditioning. It is common for homeowners in this part of the country to be without air conditioning, due to the typically temperate conditions. (Accuweather.com) Read more.

Rescuers Race the Clock in Miami Where 159 Are Missing, Billy Graham Trauma Chaplains Arrive on Scene
The search and rescue effort continues today near Miami after a 12-story beachfront condo building partially collapsed in the overnight hours while residents were sleeping on Thursday.

Among the 159 missing are people from around the world: A beloved retired Miami-area teacher and his wife, Orthodox Jews from Russia, Israelis, the sister of Paraguay’s first lady, and many others from South America.

In the first hours after the collapse, rescuers pulled at least 35 people from the wreckage. But overnight heading into Friday they pulled out three bodies of deceased residents.

The stories that have emerged are heartbreaking. In one of them, rescuers are trying to reach a child, whose parents are feared dead. In another case, a mother and child were saved, but the mother's leg had to be amputated to pull her from the rubble.

Several Miami-based groups are organizing relief efforts. Religious organizations, like a synagogue in Skylake, are asking for donations to help the families of those impacted. So far, their online donation fund has raised more than $728,000.

Miami clergy also say they are joining relief efforts. They will hold mass for all those affected by the collapse of the condo.

And the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team has trauma counselors on-site to pray and minister to the victims and first responders.

Josh Holland, assistant director for BG-RRT, said, "Our crisis-trained chaplains are available to listen, and we want all of those who were impacted—including the first responders who are part of the search-and-rescue efforts—to know that God still loves them and cares about them, even in the midst of such pain and sadness."

"Pray for the family members of those who lived in the building waiting to hear if their loved ones are safe or not," Franklin Graham said on Facebook. "The Bible tells us, 'God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble' (Psalm 46:1)."

Our prayers remain with the rescuers, the family members, and the lives lost. (Read more)

EX-White House Doctor: I'm Calling on Biden to Take a Cognitive Test

Trump's former physician told the Todd Starnes Show Biden looked "very confused, very frail, very weak, and it just does not inspire confidence" during his first foreign trip.

"He's always made gaffes here or there, but this is something different. This is repeated times where he can't remember exactly what's going on, where he's at, what he's doing, he looks confused...he just kind of stares off into space," Jackson said. "It's time to get his physical exam done and that should include cognitive testing."

He recalled when the mainstream media demanded Trump get the same testing done as president, which Jackson carried out and said "Trump did extremely well."

"Do you believe that there are others, perhaps being led by a committee, that are ultimately making these decisions and Biden is just the guy out in front of the cameras?" Starnes asked.

"Absolutely. I believe he's just the guy in front of the cameras. That's just my personal opinion," Jackson said. "It's just disturbing that he can't answer questions from the press. They will not put him in front of the press unless they hand select who the questions are coming from. They're giving the questions ahead of time. You can tell because he's got notes. He calls on reporters in order. He references his notes after the question, indicating they...prepared him with talking points."

"This isn't the way it's supposed to work. President Trump didn't do that. President Trump walked up into an entirely hostile press and took questions from anybody and everybody. He would stand up there and takes questions for hours...and that's what we should expect from our president and we're not getting that. We're getting a very sheltered individual who's being directed by his staff and he mentions frequently, if he deviates from them telling him what to do, he's going to get in trouble."

Starnes asked, "Do you believe he's going to be able to finish out his term?"

"I do not. I don't think so. I've said that from the beginning," Jackson answered. "Four years is a long time if you're already having this kind of difficulty early in your tenure...I do not have the level of confidence that tells me he's going to make it four years. I just think it's going to progressively get worse and worse." (Breaking Christian News) Read more.

More Comments from former Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo
The following are more excerpts from comments made by Mike Pompeo at the National Religious Broadcasters conference last week in Grapevine, Texas.

“The Iranian people are a glorious, wonderful [people]. If you studied Persia at all, you know these are really good people. And they’re being ruled over by an elite revolutionary class that has destroyed not only them but puts real risks in the region as well,” he said.

Pompeo, who is the first American to have served as both secretary of state and director of the CIA, revealed he was regularly asked how he remained in the Trump administration for all four years when the national security area continually changed.

“It was easy for me; I knew my place,” he said. “I knew I worked for him. My mission was unambiguously clear: Go out and make the world safer for the United States of America.”

Resigning, he said, “never occurred” to him “because I knew two things. One, as a Christian believer, I believe that the Lord had given me this incredible opportunity. And I was going to do my best every day not to screw it up. … The second [was] I knew I was on this important mission.”

During the interview, Pompeo drew rounds of applause and standing ovations from the crowd gathered at the NRB. The group’s CEO, Troy Miller, presented the Kansas native with the NRB’s “President’s Award” for efforts to promote religious freedom worldwide.

An evangelical Christian and former Sunday school teacher, Pompeo assured the NRB audience he will “stay in this important fight that we are all in for the soul of our country.” He asked supporters to pray that he stays in “the right place for me to be able to listen to the Lord, to surrender myself to the Lord, so that I can listen well.”

Pompeo also urged attendees to “pray to for leaders … who are prepared to lay down their animosity, their historic grievances, and build out peace and permit their people to worship in the way they want. If we can get a little bit more of that then my time on Earth will have been useful,” he concluded. Earth's fifth ocean just confirmed

The Earth has finally attained popular recognition for its fifth ocean, with a decision by the National Geographic Society to add the Southern Ocean around Antarctica to the four it recognizes already: the Atlantic, Pacific, Indian and Arctic oceans.

Although the designation of the frigid waters around the icy southern continent as a separate ocean has kicked around for almost 100 years and is widely used by scientists, until now it has not had popular backing.

But on June 8 — World Oceans Day — the society announced it would henceforth be labeling the Southern Ocean as the fifth ocean on its maps of our planet.

"The Southern Ocean has long been recognized by scientists, but because there was never agreement internationally, we never officially recognized it," the society's official geographer Alex Tait told the National Geographic website. "It's sort of geographic nerdiness in some ways."

One of the biggest impacts would be on education, he said: "Students learn information about the ocean world through what oceans you're studying. If you don't include the Southern Ocean, then you don't learn the specifics of it and how important it is." Read More

'It's a Blessing': Stranger Helps Oklahoma Man Walking 15 Miles to Work, Surprised With New Bike

The kindness of a stranger is truly changing the life of one Oklahoma man who used to walk 15 miles to work each day.

Donte Franklin, 20, is willing to do whatever it takes to get to his job at Buffalo Wild Wings in Moore, even if it means a long trek in the heat. While running errands last Tuesday, Michael Lynn saw Franklin walking down the road twice which peaked his curiosity. He stopped to offer Franklin a ride and he accepted. In a Facebook post, Lynn wrote that the two talked quite a bit and he was amazed by Franklin's will and determination. "I'm thinking this young man is truly on a mission to survive!! During the trip over there he told me a lot about himself because I asked..I just want to wish him well!! May God bless him and I hope his days get better for him!"

Kerri Collins with My Riding Buddies Oklahoma (MRBO) saw Lynn's story about the young man and began working on a plan to help him.  "Anytime I see something posted concerning anybody anywhere in Oklahoma, I immediately jump in and we do whatever we can do as a group," she told KOCO News. "It just touched me that this man is only 20 years old and is walking to two different jobs with nothing in the heat."

Before long, Collins and the group surprised Franklin with a new bike which he was overjoyed to receive. "It's a blessing. I really appreciate it. I'm thankful for it," Franklin said.

A GoFundMe was created to make Franklin's commute even easier with a car. So far, the effort has raised $50,625 as of Saturday afternoon. (CBN) Read more.

Thoughts for Repentance
Having risen from the grave, having shown His wounds to many, having walked for 40 days among His people, Yeshua/ Jesus the Messiah rightfully said: ALL authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earthMatthew 28:18

And yet our "leaders" don't use His Word; they don't honor His Authority. In every nation, His Word is not the standard; the limited thinking of unrepentant minds spews out pages and pages of unGodly flawed laws, leading us to disasters. God is not mocked.

So it's up to you and me, the little people, to follow His Word to seek His Solution for these disasters. Read More

When I Survey the Wondrous Cross

Words: Isaac Watts
Music: Lowell Mason

Scripture: May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. Galatians 6:14

Lyrics:
When I survey the wondrous cross
On which the Prince of glory died,
My richest gain I count but loss,
And pour contempt on all my pride.

Forbid it, Lord, that I should boast,
Save in the death of Christ my God!
All the vain things that charm me most,
I sacrifice them to His blood.

See from His head, His hands, His feet,
Sorrow and love flow mingled down!
Did e’er such love and sorrow meet,
Or thorns compose so rich a crown?

His dying crimson, like a robe,
Spreads o’er His body on the tree;
Then I am dead to all the globe,
And all the globe is dead to me.

Were the whole realm of nature mine,
That were a present far too small;
Love so amazing, so divine,
Demands my soul, my life, my all.

To Christ, who won for sinners grace
By bitter grief and anguish sore,
Be praise from all the ransomed race
Forever and forevermore.

About Capitol Hill Prayer Partners

Our Mission Statement

Capitol Hill Prayer Partners (CHPP) is a ministry which is positioned on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., helping members of the Body of Christ to "pray for those in authority over us" in our federal government. Our primary purpose is to offer intercession on site for the members of Congress and their staffs each day that the Senate and the House of Representatives are in session; and our chief prayer focus is that "God's will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." [Matthew 6:10].

Because Jesus Christ has shed His blood for all, we, too, pray for ALL, in a nonpartisan manner. Also, because the scriptures indicate that "the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 4:17), we are confident that fervent prayer, offered in the halls of the highest chambers of government in our land, can avail much for America. Capitol Hill Prayer Partners welcomes those who feel called to join us, engaging in this strategic work of intercession for our nation: "For there is no power but of God; the powers that be are ordained of God." [Romans 13:1]
