Sculpture Which Some Likened to 'End Times Beast' Described in The Bible Removed from UN

A statue displayed at the United Nations in New York, which was likened to the end-times "beast" from the New Testament's book of Revelation, has been removed.

As CBN News reported, the artwork known as the "guardian for international peace and security" was first displayed in November outside of the UN's Visitors Plaza.

Stéphane Dujarric, spokesperson for the Secretary-General, told CBN News the sculpture was not permanent and its removal was planned.

"The statue you refer to was a temporary exhibit organized by the Permanent Mission of Mexico to the United Nations. It was taken down, as scheduled and anticipated, on 20 December," Dujarric said in a statement on Wednesday.

Though some may consider the winged lion to be art, others were not so fond of the figure, saying it looked eerily similar to the "beast" described by the Apostle John in the Bible's book of Revelation and by the prophet Daniel in the Old Testament.

Daniel Chapter 7: 2 - 4 describes the beast with the body of a lion and wings of an eagle:

"Daniel spake and said, "I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea. And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another.

The first was like a lion, and had eagle's wings."

The Apostle John described a beast with similar features in the New Testament passage in Revelation 13:2.

"And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority."

Numerous comments about the sculpture have flooded social media since the statue was placed.

"This is a statue the UN chose to represent international peace and security. Does this give you a feeling of peace or security when you look at it? It doesn't look peaceful to me," wrote one Twitter user. (CBN) Read more and view this

- Father God, we thank You that this abomination WAS, indeed, removed from the U.N. Plaza on December 20th, "as planned." We ask Your Holy angels to go forth now with the Broom of Heaven and sweep clean any debris that might have been left in its place. We praise You, O Lord, that You ARE the "king of all kings" and the "Lord of all Lords," and that there is none higher than You!

"I will give thanks to the Lord according to His righteousness and justice,
And I will sing praise to the name of the Lord Most High."
(Psalm 7:17)
In Context: Intentional Asymmetry
The Senate has given itself a week to pass elections legislation or remake itself into the image of its majoritarian counterpart, the House of Representatives.

For as long as it has existed, going all the way back to when the frequency of elections for its Members was set in the Constitution, the crowning characteristic of the Senate has always been that it is not just another body to mirror the House.

The asymmetry has been intentional.

This week, in this new year, Senate Majority Leader Schumer has
rolled out a new talking point in the Democrats' Federal quest to make temporary pandemic State voting procedures permanent. He asked,
If the right to vote is the cornerstone of our democracy, then how can we Democrats permit a situation in which Republicans can pass voter suppression laws at the State level with only a simple majority vote but not allow the U.S. Senate to do the same? And I ask that of my Democratic colleagues—my Democratic colleagues.

This asymmetry cannot hold.
He repeated this argument again the next day, and included it in his lengthy remarks on Friday.

His argument contains the seeds of its own destruction: the U.S. Senate is at the Federal level and state legislatures are “at the State level.” Reducing the legislative majority threshold in the U.S. Senate to “a simple majority vote” changes nothing about the asymmetry of power between States and the Federal government. Any action by the U.S. Congress would override state laws.

There's no symmetry in that, even if the Senate rules were to change.

It is appropriate for the exercise of a greater amount of power be required to meet a greater threshold of consensus. The symmetry between exercise of power and legislative consensus required to exercise that power is greater now than if the Senate were to undermine the filibuster.

Father, we ask that Your People would clearly see through false arguments used to accumulate power. We ask You to give Your People clarity of mind to “cast down arguments” against You and Your Will for this Nation.

“Though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:3-5)

Dear Saints,

A lifestyle of REPENTANCE is so close to the heart of God.

Indeed, He commands us to  "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!" Matthew 3:2

How, then, can we approach His Throne of GRACE, in repentance?

We invite you to join us every week on Sunday evening, as we explore this vital topic together. We present a different prayer focus each week, leading us into repentance, so that we might approach His Throne of Grace in repentance, presenting ourselves to Him as a pure and a spotless Bride, without spot or wrinkle. (Ephesians 5:27)

Praying together, we desire to fulfill the mandate of Psalm 139:

" Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; 24 And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting." Psalm 139:24

You can join us, any Sunday evening, at 10:00 p.m. EST by calling:

712-770-5350
Access Code: 150411#

WELCOME!

". . . and if My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

"Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to the prayer offered in this place."
(2 Chronicles 7:14,15)
