Today's Top Story
Senate Passes $858 Billion Military Spending Bill
Repealing Vaccine Mandate

The U.S. Senate on Dec. 15 passed a military spending bill with a top-line price to taxpayers of $858 billion. The defense package, dubbed the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), passed the upper chamber by an 83–11 vote.

The NDAA was passed by the House of Representatives on Dec. 8 in a 350–80 vote. A total of 176 Republicans in the lower chamber voted for the bill, 35 voted against it, and two didn’t vote. A total of 174 Democrats voted for the bill, while 45 voted against it.

One of the most noteworthy aspects of the package, and an early victory for Republicans as they prepare to take the House next year, was a repeal of President Joe Biden’s controversial COVID-19 vaccine mandate for military service members. Despite historically supporting Biden’s COVID-19 policies, Democrats yielded on the issue.

However, in an interview with NTD, Cesar Ybarra, vice president of policy at FreedomWorks, warned that this may not be the victory for Republicans that it seems to be.

“The legislation simply said that the Department of Defense is required to rescind the memo that authorizes the vaccine mandate on servicemembers,” Ybarra explained. “However … it gives us no assurances that DOD will not do that again, right.”

He added, “So it simply says get rid of it, but nothing that says you cannot do this again. And we’ve known from the COVID hysteria that these federal politicians always flip-flop on when or when we don’t need these vaccine mandates.” (Epoch Times) Read more here.

- Father, we thank You that these vaccine mandates have now been removed from this year's NDAA authorization. We ask that Your angels would stand guard over this language, so that it will not be rescinded next year.

- "…the LORD . . .  guided them on every side."  (2 Chronicles 32:22)
Several Good News Reports

From Gary Bauer
  • Louisiana voters overwhelmingly approved a constitutional amendment banning foreign nationals from voting in state and local elections.
  • Eighteen Republican state attorneys general filed a brief in support of parents who are suing an Iowa school district for hiding their children’s “gender transitioning” from them.
  • The state of Florida issued subpoenas to 20 organizations, including the American Pediatric Association, the American Medical Association and Yale University. Florida officials want to know why the organizations support radical transgender procedures on kids, and what they do and don’t understand about the long-term effects of such extreme procedures.
  • The Ohio Board of Education adopted a resolution opposing the Biden Administration’s radical transgender agenda and reaffirming parental rights in education.
  • The University of Idaho settled a lawsuit for $90,000 after it violated the First Amendment rights of Christian students.
  • The former superintendent of schools in Loudoun County, Virginia, and another school official have been indicted following a special grand jury investigation into the coverup of the sexual assaults committed by a transgender student.
  • After electing three new members, the Temecula Valley Unified School Board voted to ban critical race theory from its classrooms.
  • A Pennsylvania school board member who admitted her own bigotry against white, heterosexual men resigned in disgrace.
  • Sam Brinton, a “non-binary” Biden Administration official, was fired after two arrests for stealing luggage.
- Father, we praise You for all of these good reports in just this past week.
Praise the Lord!
Happy Chanukah!

Our Weekly Call to Repentance

CHPP Welcomes You to Join Us Every Week in One Hour of Repentance

Sunday evening at 10:00 p.m. EDT
Dial 717-908-1983
Access Code: 9301470#

Dear Saints,

A lifestyle of REPENTANCE is so close to the heart of God.

Indeed, He commands us to  "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!" Matthew 3:2

How, then, can we approach His Throne of GRACE, in repentance?

We invite you to join us every week on Sunday evening, as we explore this vital topic together. We present a different prayer focus each week, leading us into repentance, so that we might approach His Throne of Grace in repentance, presenting ourselves to Him as a pure and a spotless Bride, without spot or wrinkle. (Ephesians 5:27)

Praying together, we desire to fulfill the mandate of Psalm 139:

" Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; 24 And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting." Psalm 139:24

You can join us, any Sunday evening, at 10:00 p.m. EST by calling:

717-908-1983
Access Code: 9301470#

WELCOME!

". . . and if My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

"Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to the prayer offered in this place."
(2 Chronicles 7:14,15)
