"For the kingdom is the LORD'S: and he is the governor among the nations." (Psalm 22:28)

US leaves open possibility of Hamas retaining power
"Palestinians' voices and aspirations must be at the center of post-crisis governance in Gaza," a U.S. government spokesperson told JNS.

The U.S. State Department on Thursday refused to rule out the possibility of the Hamas terrorist organization retaining power or joining a Palestinian Authority-led governing body for the Gaza Strip, Judea and Samaria.

“We have been clear about our position on Hamas, which the United States designated as a foreign terrorist organization in 1997 due to its premeditated, politically motivated violence perpetrated against noncombatant targets,” a U.S. government spokesperson told JNS.

However, “Palestinians’ voices and aspirations must be at the center of post-crisis governance in Gaza, unified with the West Bank under the P.A.,” the spokesperson said, adding, “Ultimately, the future of Palestinian leadership is a question for the Palestinian people.

“We remain committed to working with the P.A. and Palestinian leadership on the critical work of strengthening Palestinian institutions … and reinforcing commitments to nonviolence and countering terrorism,” concluded the official.

On Nov. 8, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that Gaza must be handed over to the P.A. once Israel’s operation there ends. The solution “must include Palestinian-led governance and Gaza unified with the West Bank under the P.A.,” stated Blinken.

- Father God, it is difficult for us to even read this statement, much less believe it. We ask that, by Your Spirit, an immediate groundswell of opposition to this statement would emerge, so that our government will KNOW that there is NO WAY we will support a new Hamas leadership structure in "Palestine," after this war is over. Thank You, Holy One, for hearing and for answering our prayer, in Your mighty Name, amen and amen!

- "Make your motions and cast your votes,
but God has the final say." (Proverbs 16:33 MSG)
Historic menorah-lighting at US Capitol by leaders of Senate and House
“ … The last two months have proven that we have a long way to go in making the world a safer place for our Jewish brothers and sisters,” said House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.)

In a historic first, congressional leadership on both sides of the aisle joined together on Tuesday, the sixth night of Chanukah, for the inaugural lighting of the U.S. Capitol Menorah.

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) opened the event, speaking about the significant rise in antisemitism across the country since the Oct. 7 terrorist attacks on Israel by Hamas terrorists from the Gaza Strip. “It’s incumbent upon leaders to not only denounce antisemitism but to counter it with love,” he said. “ … The last two months have proven that we have a long way to go in making the world a safer place for our Jewish brothers and sisters. But we must remember that the only way to drive out darkness is to overwhelm it with light.”

In his remarks, the Speaker acknowledged the presence of Tomer Keshet, a relative of the Bibas family kidnapped by Hamas, including 4-year-old Ariel and 11-month-old Kfir.

Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.), the nation’s highest-ranking Jewish lawmaker, said that lighting a menorah inside the Capitol building “reminds us of just how far the Jewish people have come in our long and winding history.”

He noted that this year, Chanukah comes “at a moment of grief, trial and fear for the Jewish people. Perhaps for that, it is all the more meaningful.”

The U.S. Capitol menorah-lighting was organized by Rabbi Levi Shemtov, executive vice president of American Friends of Lubavitch (Chabad), who in his remarks noted that Schumer had loaned his own personal menorah for the event.

Also present and sharing remarks were Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.). (JNS.org) Read more here.

- Father God, we praise You for this report! What a sweet fragrance was released this week when Jew and Gentile came together as one man to observe the ancient and holy tradition of lighting the menorah candles in observance of Hanukkah. This ceremony also represented a rare unity of both of our political parties, on both sides of the Hill. Praise God!

We ask that this ceremony become a tradition to be observed every year now on Capitol Hill, in Your Name, Abba. Amen and amen!

- "Behold, how good and how pleasant it is

For brethren to dwell together in unity!

It is like the precious oil upon the head,
Running down on the beard,
The beard of Aaron,
Running down on the edge of his garments.
It is like the dew of Hermon,
Descending upon the mountains of Zion;
For there the Lord commanded the blessing—
Life forevermore." (Psalm 133:1-3)

CREDIBLE THREATS FOR THE HOLIDAYS!

Published by: Cindy Jacobs
Generals International
SHIELDS UP!

This week, the FBI and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) released a heightened security alert for the holidays. Fox News reported, "Per an assessment from the FBI and DHS, ongoing tensions related to the conflict between Israel and Hamas 'likely heighten the threat of lone actor violence targeting large public gatherings throughout the winter, including holiday-related, faith-based, New Year’s Eve, and First Amendment protected events related to the conflict.' 1

"The bureau says these targets are likely to remain 'attractive to lone actors inspired by a range of ideologies due to their accessibility and symbolic nature.'" 2

Fox goes on to report on increases of "hoax bomb and active shooter threats targeting synagogues across the United States." The FBI said, "We therefore urge everyone to remain vigilant and to report any threats of violence or suspicious activity to law enforcement." 3

We will do more than that! We will watch, report, and PRAY!

So, we encourage you to maintain vigilance as you go about your holiday celebrations with family and friends. "Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers." (Ephesians 6:18; NLT) "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." (Ephesians 6:12; NIV)

So, be watchful in prayer as you do your holiday shopping, travel, gather at church programs, etc. Pray before you go, and know that the Lord is with you wherever you go. When you hear about gatherings of large numbers of people in your community, pray diligently over those areas in advance. Ask the Lord to protect all who will attend.

May the Lord grace you and your family with a beautiful Christmas and a truly prosperous New Year. May you grow in grace and favor with God and with man, and may the enemy be routed from our land!  -- Cindy Jacobs

(From Cindy Jacobs)

Many of you have been a part of covering your neighborhoods, cities, college and high school campuses, and nations in watchful prayer through the Fall. We have received so many reports of all you are doing to prayer walk and prayer drive, as well as gathering in churches and homes, praying for the Lord's protection. You are doing a wonderful job!

We do not write to you with any desire to raise fear in you, for that is not the Lord's heart. He desires we would find peace in Him and be moved to prayer.

Let's decree together the TRUTH of the Word of God that "No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord." (Isaiah 54:17)

And let's remember, too, His promise from 2 Timothy 4:18. It is written:
". . . the Lord will deliver me from every evil work and preserve me for His heavenly kingdom."

Our Weekly Call to Repentance

CHPP Welcomes You to Join Us Every Week in One Hour of Repentance

Sunday evening at 10:00 p.m. EDT
Dial 717-908-1983
Access Code: 9301470#

Dear Saints,

A lifestyle of REPENTANCE is so close to the heart of God.

Indeed, He commands us to  "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!" Matthew 3:2

How, then, can we approach His Throne of GRACE, in repentance?

We invite you to join us every week on Sunday evening, as we explore this vital topic together. We present a different prayer focus each week, leading us into repentance, so that we might approach His Throne of Grace in repentance, presenting ourselves to Him as a pure and a spotless Bride, without spot or wrinkle. (Ephesians 5:27)

Praying together, we desire to fulfill the mandate of Psalm 139:

" Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; 24 And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting." Psalm 139:24

You can join us, any Sunday evening, at 10:00 p.m. EST by calling:

717-908-1983
Access Code: 9301470#

WELCOME!

". . . and if My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

"Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to the prayer offered in this place."
(2 Chronicles 7:14,15)
