Media's Latest "Smoking Gun" Against Trump Comes Crashing Down:
"There are no 'Missing Pages'"

The media's latest "smoking gun" accusation against former President Donald Trump — allegedly missing White House call logs on Jan. 6 — has turned out to be a giant nothingburger.

What is the background?

The Washington Post reported Tuesday that documents turned over to the House committee investigating Jan. 6 were missing more than 7 hours and 30 minutes of call records on Jan. 6.

Because of the missing records, House investigators began exploring the possibility that the records were purposely scrubbed or that Trump communicated using so-called "burner phones."

But what is the truth?

There is nothing nefarious about the White House call logs from Jan. 6, 2021, because they reflect Trump's usual telephone habits, CNN reported.

According to CNN, Trump rarely placed calls through the White House switchboard when he was in the Oval Office, instead relying on White House landlines, government cell phones, and personal cell phones. He typically only used the switchboard when he was in the White House residence.

Thus, the reason the call logs show the 7-hour and 37-minute gap is because Trump communicated via telephones not wired through the White House switchboard. (Source: The Blaze) Read more here.

- Lord God, we thank you that, in this case, even CNN is admitting that the original story about the "missing 7 hours of call records" made by the President on January 6, 2021 is false. We thank You that, once again, Donald John Trump has been exonerated from guilt. In Your Name, amen and amen.

3 Democrats join Republicans in sinking Biden nominee to lead Labor division

Three moderate Senate Democrats joined Republicans on Wednesday night in voting against advancing President Joe Biden's nominee to head the Labor Department's Wage and Hour Division.

Democratic Sens. Kyrsten Sinema, Joe Manchin and Mark Kelly voted against a procedural vote to advance David Weil's nomination. The final vote count was 47-53, where a simple majority was needed to advance the nomination.
Weil previously served in this role during the Obama administration from 2014 to 2017 and faced criticism from conservative groups for policies he enacted at the time that they argue hurt small businesses, such as pushing to classify independent contractors as employees. Private groups were urging moderate Democrats to vote against Weil's nomination.
Sinema's spokesperson said the senator reviewed his nomination and "had concerns" without elaborating.

"As she promised Arizonans, Kyrsten evaluates all nominees based on three criteria: whether or not they are professionally qualified, believe in the missions of their agencies, and can be trusted to faithfully execute and uphold the law," the spokesperson said. "Upon reviewing Mr. Weil's nomination, she has concerns with his ability to faithfully execute and uphold the law."
Manchin cited Weil's "track record" and said his "previous statements are problematic for many West Virginia employees and business owners." (CNN) Read more.
Parents outraged over Disney's pushback on Florida parental rights law: 'Leave the kids alone'

Parents around the country are pushing back on Disney after it publicly denounced a new parental rights law in Florida, which bars teachers from discussing sexual orientation or gender identity in kindergarten through third grade.

New York Post columnist Karol Markowicz, B.E.S.T. Executive Director Laura Zorc, and Heroes of Liberty Editor Bethany Mandel spoke out against Disney's stance on "Fox & Friends," warning the company is making a mistake.

"Disney is making a huge mistake," Markowicz told co-host Steve Doocy. "They're opposing parents who are their core consumers with their opposition to this Florida law."

"This isn't difficult," she continued. "Leave the kids alone. They shouldn't be indoctrinated by Mickey Mouse. Let them be kids. Disney used to understand that.".
Quisha King, a Florida mom and a co-founder of "Moms for Liberty"also reiterated her support for the Sunshine State's new law, arguing it "empowers" mothers and fathers within the sphere of their kids' education.

"This is a real bill that empowers parents," King told Todd Piro during "Fox & Friends First" on Thursday. "It protects our kids… They only started doing this because… woke mob came after them." (Read more)

- Father God, we thank You that Disney's extreme woke agenda has now come to light, and that many parents are coming against it. We ask the the Disney empire will feel the brunt of different boycott actions being taken against it, and change course, accordingly. Let a man be called a man, and a woman a woman, in Your name and in accordance with Your Scriptures. Amen.

- "Male and female He created them." (Genesis 5:2)
In Context: Value for a self-governed People
2022 is a U.S. mid-term election year. Americans are correct and do well to take stock of the country, and compare how well their governments are punishing those who do evil and praising those who do good (Romans 13:3-4, 1 Peter 2:14). If they are, reelection of officeholders may be in order, and if they're not, electing others to office instead may be wise.

This year's election may not be “the most important election of our lifetimes.” (We've had several of those in the last decade or two.) It could, however, be one of the most contentious.

Pollsters make a living measuring the level of comity or contention among the people. Questions about the national mood, direction of the country, approval of the President, and approval of Congress are never in short supply. UPI recently
reported on a Gallup poll showing “The job approval rating for the U.S. Congress remained low in March with 21% of Americans approving of lawmakers' performance.”

The question is, How useful is it to “approve” or “disapprove” of Congress?

Does expressing a negative opinion about Congress provide value to a self-governed People? Does communicating with a pollster falsely satisfy the urge to take more meaningful concrete action?

For people of faith, What is the relationship between approval or disapproval and seeking the Lord in prayer? If we have already reached a judgment of disapproval, can we still go to the Lord in faith that He can change hearts?

We can learn from responses of how Jesus and Paul responded to a high priest, especially when physical confrontation was involved:

When a high priest asked Jesus about his disciples, he answered “Why do you ask Me? Ask (witnesses).” A nearby officer struck him and said, “Do you answer the high priest like that?” Jesus answered, “If I have spoken evil, bear witness of the evil; but if well, why do you strike Me?” (John 18:19-23).

When a high priest heard Paul justify himself, he ordered those standing nearby to strike him on the mouth. Paul began to fire back saying, “God will strike you, you whitewashed wall! For you sit to judge me according to the law, and do you command me to be struck contrary to the law?” Those standing nearby asked, “Do you revile God's high priest?” Paul was immediately humble and contrite saying, “I did not know, brethren, that he was the high priest; for it is written, ‘You shall not speak evil of a ruler of your people.’” (Acts 23:1-5).

In both cases, neither spoke evil or continued to speak evil in recognition of the position of high priest. Paul may have had a point about hypocrisy, but he kept his own integrity even if he didn't think the high priest was keeping his.

Congress is a fragile institution. It is a blessing from God insofar as we are thankful for it. If we only join the 76 percent in calling down condemnation on it, God may not have it endure. It's replacement would not be a freedom upgrade.

We would do well not to speak evil of Congress, the President and all of the “rulers of your people.” The same goes for We the People. If we have a problem with someone—in power or not—we should go to that person and address it directly. If someone is acting with power contrary to God's ways, address it with them. If they change, praise the Lord. If not, vote for someone else.

But to do nothing other than speak evil of leaders in the Nation is neither a spiritual nor political solution for anything.

Skip the pollsters or “approve” for the sake of the institution. Take matters to the Lord, to the leaders directly, and to the real poll with your vote that actually counts.

Father, it's so easy for one-way media to send us emotional messages that stir up anger and fear against those You've put in place to punish those who do evil and praise those who do good. May we listen to Your Word and respond as you would have us respond in this difficult and humbling season for our Nation. Open our eyes and ears to understanding Your purposes for why You have each of us exactly where you have us right now, and the relationships each of us has among the People. May we not see government and public policy as irrelevant to the Gospel, You, and Your Word, but as doors and windows by which you would have us point people to Yourself for their salvation, Your glory, and for eternal gain.

“Be of good cheer, Paul; for as you have testified for Me in Jerusalem, so you must also bear witness at Rome.” (Acts 23:11)

Our Weekly Call to Repentance

CHPP Welcomes You to Join Us Every Week in One Hour of Repentance

Sunday evening at 10:00 p.m. EDT
Dial 712-770-5350
Access Code: 150411#

Dear Saints,

A lifestyle of REPENTANCE is so close to the heart of God.

Indeed, He commands us to  "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!" Matthew 3:2

How, then, can we approach His Throne of GRACE, in repentance?

We invite you to join us every week on Sunday evening, as we explore this vital topic together. We present a different prayer focus each week, leading us into repentance, so that we might approach His Throne of Grace in repentance, presenting ourselves to Him as a pure and a spotless Bride, without spot or wrinkle. (Ephesians 5:27)

Praying together, we desire to fulfill the mandate of Psalm 139:

" Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; 24 And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting." Psalm 139:24

You can join us, any Sunday evening, at 10:00 p.m. EST by calling:

712-770-5350
Access Code: 150411#

WELCOME!

". . . and if My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

"Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to the prayer offered in this place."
(2 Chronicles 7:14,15)
