Sean Spicer sues Biden over ouster from Naval Academy board
|
|
Former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer sued President Joe Biden over the administration's efforts to oust him from the board of the U.S. Naval Academy. Earlier this month, the Biden administration asked Spicer and several other appointees of President Donald Trump to resign from U.S. service academy and other military advisory boards. Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway was similarly asked to step down from the Air Force Academy's board of visitors.
Now a host on the conservative Newsmax channel, Spicer filed suit in federal court in Washington on Thursday along with Russell Vought, Trump's former Office of Management and Budget director, who was also told to step down from the Naval Academy board. In their complaint, Spicer and Vought said Biden did not have the legal authority to remove them from the board. They asked the court for a restraining order blocking the administration from doing so.
"The statute governing the Board provides for staggered three-year terms," the lawsuit said, "and it makes no provision or allowance for at-will presidential removal based on political affiliation or otherwise." (Stars and Stripes) Read more. |

1. Over 1 million Israelis who haven’t had 3rd dose to lose Green Pass on Sunday - Times of Israel
From Sunday, more than one million Israelis will lose their Green Pass after a policy change dictated that a COVID-19 booster shot is required six months after receiving the first two doses.
Health Ministry data on Monday showed that 4,710,716 Israelis were vaccinated with two doses six months ago, but only 3,243,641 of them have been administered a booster dose.
Even subtracting the hundreds of thousands infected with COVID-19 in the past six months, meaning they wouldn’t need the third vaccine dose, the number of people who will no longer have a so-called Green Pass is over a million. (Read more)

Israel’s Prime Minister Naftali Bennett addressed a sparsely-attended hall at the United Nations General Assembly on Monday morning, just a few hours before the start of the Jewish holiday of Simchat Torah in the Jewish State.
The prime minister began his speech with a focus on the global coronavirus pandemic, and the ways in which Israel has been addressing the issue.

3. Bennett to UN: Time to focus on Iran, not Israel - World Israel News
Prime Minister Naftali Bennett addressed the United Nations General Assembly on Monday for the first time, urging the world to take action against the growing Iranian threat.
The Israeli prime minister started his speech by saying that Israel will no longer be defined by its neighbors or its conflicts.
“For way too long, Israel was defined by wars with our neighbors. But this is not what Israel is about. This is not what the people of Israel are about,” Bennett said.
“Israelis don’t wake up in the morning thinking about the conflict. Israelis want to lead a good life, take care of our families and build a better world for our children.”

4. Health officials bristle at PM’s criticism at UN: ‘Unnecessary and unpleasant’ - Times of Israel
Health officials expressed indignation on Tuesday over Prime Minister Naftali Bennett’s criticism of Israeli health experts during his trip to the United Nations the day before.
During a briefing with Israeli journalists while in New York for the UN General Assembly, Bennett took a swipe at officials advising the government on its coronavirus approach, amid reported disagreements over whether to impose further restrictions.
The premier made several comments criticizing officials, saying, among other things, that “they don’t see the full picture” and that they “stuttered” when he demanded explanations for their call to further limit public gatherings.
During his speech at the UN earlier, Bennett also said that “while doctors are an important input, they cannot be the ones running the national initiative. The only person that has a good vantage point of all considerations is the national leader of any given country.” (Read more)

5. Air strike hits pro-Iranian militias near Syria-Iraq border - World Israel News
A base used by Iranian-backed militias in eastern Syria was hit by an air strike on Monday, according to military sources and residents cited by Reuters.
The strikes, carried out by unidentified aircraft, hit a base near Mayadeen, in the Syrian province of Deir al Zor along the Euphrates River. The location is near the Syrian-Iraq border. Information about casualties wasn’t available.
Residents told Reuters that several explosions were heard, prompting ambulances to race to Mayadeen’s outskirts. They also said that the pro-Iran militias were on a heightened state of alert and had stepped up their patrols.
In the past year, numerous air strikes widely attributed to Israel have hit pro-Iranian militias around Syria, including as far east Abu Kamal, which is along the Iraqi border. Israeli officials have confirmed the strikes in a general way, never confirming specific attacks. (Read more)

1. Senate Republicans block bill to avert government shutdown and to extend debt limit - NBC News
The Senate failed on Monday to pass a key procedural vote to advance the House-passed short-term government funding bill as the deadline to avert a shutdown looms at the end of the week. The Senate voted 48 to 50 on the procedural motion, with Republicans opposing the stopgap measure because it included an extension of a debt ceiling. Republicans said they were unwilling to support the debt limit increase and are demanding that Democrats take the political heat for the vote.
All Republicans voted in opposition and Democrats supported the measure, with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer switching his vote to "no" in a procedural move that allows him to call for another vote on the measure.
"It's one of the most reckless, one of the most irresponsible votes I've seen taken in the Senate, and it should send a signal to every family, small business, market watcher, about who in this chamber is in favor of endangering the economic stability of our country," said Schumer on the Senate floor, following the vote. 2. Biden meets with Sinema and Manchin in bid to save spending package - Just The News
President Joe Biden is meeting Tuesday with two key Senate Democrats in a bid to pave the way for a deal on a social welfare spending package by a critical Thursday deadline. Sens. Joe Manchin of West Virginia and Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona are meeting with the president in separate meetings to discuss what it will take for them to back the massive spending package, aides confirmed.
The meetings come at a crucial moment and could determine whether Biden’s spending and infrastructure agenda can pass Congress. “They are critical,” House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, a Maryland Democrat, told reporters who asked about the Senate centrists.
House Democrats plan to hold a vote later this week on a $1.2 trillion bipartisan infrastructure package Biden is eager to sign into law. (Read more)

3. NY Gov. Hochul says vaccines are 'from God,' sends out her own 'apostles' to push jabs - Fox News
Hochul, who assumed office in August after Andrew Cuomo resigned amid allegations of sexual misconduct, also urged her listeners to be her "apostles" by convincing their friends to get vaccinated, an act she said demonstrates the love Jesus commanded his followers to exhibit.
"We are not through this pandemic," Hochul said during her homily at the Christian Cultural Center, a non-denominational megachurch. "I wished we were, but I prayed a lot to God during this time and you know what, God did answer our prayers. He made the smartest men and women, the scientists, the doctors, the researchers — he made them come up with a vaccine. That is from God to us and we must say, ‘Thank you, God. Thank you.'"
Hochul then showed off her necklace that indicated her vaccination status before alleging those who refuse the COVID-19 vaccine "aren't listening to God and what God wants."
"I need you to be my apostles," Hochul told her audience. "I need you to go out and talk about it and say, ‘We owe this to each other. We love each other.’ Jesus taught us to love one another and how do you show that love but to care about each other enough to say, ‘Please get the vaccine because I love you and I want you to live? I want our kids to be safe when they're in schools? I want to be safe when you go to a doctor's office or to a hospital and are treated by somebody?' You don't want to get the virus from them. You're already sick or you wouldn't be there."

4. Pentagon brass reveal Biden ignored troop recommendations on Afghanistan - Washington Examiner
President Joe Biden's decision to withdraw all troops from Afghanistan was against the personal judgment of two of his highest-ranking military officials.
Both Gen. Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and Gen. Frank McKenzie, the head of U.S. Central Command, said Tuesday during testimony on Capitol Hill that they believed roughly 2,000 troops should have remained in Afghanistan.
McKenzie, during testimony in front of the Senate Armed Services Committee, explained that he “recommended that we maintain 2,500 troops in Afghanistan” because he believed that pulling the troops would “inevitably” lead “to the collapse” of the Afghan military and government. Milley indicated his agreement, though neither leader was willing to answer specific questions about their recommendations to the president and only spoke to their opinions. (Read more)

5. Florida sues Biden administration over catch-and-release policy, alleging violation of federal law - Fox News
The state of Florida is suing the Biden administration over its "illegal" catch-and-release policies at the Southern Border, saying they cause harm to the state's "quasi-sovereign interests," while claiming officials are either in violation of federal immigration law, or simply abusing their authority.
Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody filed the suit against the administration Tuesday, as part of a joint effort with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis to "uphold the rule of law despite the Biden administration's decision to violate the law."
The suit was filed in the Pensacola Division of the Northern District of Florida. Moody is not seeking a preliminary injunction. The defendants in the suit are the Department of Homeland Security, its component agencies, like Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE), as well as Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, top officials from ICE, Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). 6. Trump slams Biden admin for releasing Haitians into US with ‘no vetting, checking’ - DML News
Former President Donald Trump slammed the Biden administration one day after the Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas, admitted to releasing the majority of the 17,000 Haitian migrants into the US.
“Approximately, I think it’s about ten thousand or so, twelve thousand,” Mayorkas told “Fox News Sunday” when asked how many have already been released. Mayorkas also noted that the number could very well go up as the 5,000 other cases are processed.
“All 17,000 illegal immigrants who entered our Country from Haiti and other places unknown have now been released into our Country with no vetting, checking, or even minimal understanding of who they are,” Trump said in a statement on Monday.
“Some are very sick with extremely contagious diseases, even worse than the China Virus,” he continued. “They are not masked or mandated, but just let free to roam all over our Country and affect what was just a year ago, a great Nation.”
Trump added that that US is “a Nation humiliated like never before, both with the historically embarrassing ‘withdrawal’ from Afghanistan, and our Border where millions of people are pouring in.” “Our Country is being destroyed!” he concluded. (Read more)

7. North Carolina-based hospital system fires 175 for failing to comply with vaccine mandate - The Hill
A North Carolina-based hospital system has fired 175 employees for failing to comply with its COVID-19 vaccine mandate.
Novant Health had said last week that approximately 375 of its 35,000-member workforce was noncompliant with the mandate, and those individuals were placed on a five-day, unpaid suspension.
Team members who remained noncompliant after the suspension period would have their employment terminated.
In a statement to The Hill on Tuesday, the hospital system said that roughly 200 additional team members have come into compliance since last week’s update.
Novant Health first announced its vaccine mandate on July 22. Under the mandate, employees had until Sept. 15 to be fully vaccinated.
Employees who are granted a medical or religious exemption must undergo weekly coronavirus testing and wear N95 respirators and eye protection while working on the premises. (Read more)

8. Taliban leaders demand U.S. stop drone patrols in Afghanistan - Just The News
The Taliban are demanding the U.S. stop drone patrols in Afghanistan, saying ithe group violated a State Department policy instituted under the Trump administration.
According to The Hill, the Trump White House signed a deal with the Taliban on Feb. 29 2020 effectively ending the 20-year war.
In a statement to the Washington Post, Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid claims the U.S. is in violation of not only the previous agreement but of international laws as well. “We hope the US should review its actions, and stop intrusion into our space.” He said.
“We call upon all the countries, especially the US, to respect Afghanistan sovereignty under the international laws. We expect mutual respect from all to avoid mishaps,” Mujahid continued.
The spokesperson went so far as issuing a veiled threat to the U.S. saying that “every state is responsible for defending its air and ground space.” (Read more)

There is such potential for security and intel from the drones, and with so many people left to the rage of the wicked ones in power there, we ask that the drones be used effectively for protection. We know the slaughter of our 13 military people and over 150 others at the gates of the airport could have been stopped by a drone. 9. Why the US military needs a new sea-launched nuclear cruise missile - Center for Security Policy
Adm. Charles Richard, commander of U.S. Strategic Command, warned on Sept. 13 that China’s nuclear breakout “enables China to execute any plausible nuclear employment strategy.”
“I like to think of this as the final brick in the wall of a military designed to confront a peer nuclear-capable opponent, in other words, us, the United States, and be able to coerce them,” Richard said. “And coercion is something that nuclear forces have been used for throughout history.”
“We don’t do that, but others have done it to us, and … China has correctly figured out that you cannot coerce a peer nuclear-capable opponent from a minimum deterrent posture; it simply does not have the flexibility to allow you to do that,” he continued. “And if you were going to try to attempt it, the person you are trying to coerce has much more flexibility, has much finer degrees of risk that they can take, and they will ultimately prevail.”
In July, the Communist Chinese media released a video threatening to launch nuclear strikes against Japan. Last week, the Chinese Communist Party propaganda site The Global Times warned Australia that it could be targeted with nuclear weapons in case of war.
Countering this nuclear blackmail requires a firm response. Putting the nuclear-armed Sea Launched Cruise Missile (SLCM-N) back on track –despite President Joe Biden’s decades-long opposition to nuclear weapons systems—offers one such means. The president called the SLCM-N a “bad idea” on the campaign trail in 2019. Mounting them on U.S. Virginia-class attack submarines or Ohio-class guided-missile submarines could give Xi Jinping or any People’s Liberation Army general with an itchy nuclear trigger finger something to think about. 10. Lawmakers Demand DOJ Explain Dropping of Cases Against Chinese Researchers Accused of Hiding Military Ties - The Epoch Times
Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), the ranking member of the House Judiciary Committee, has asked Attorney General Merrick Garland to explain why prosecutors have dropped a series of cases connected with the Justice Department’s (DOJ) crackdown on Chinese espionage.
In July, federal prosecutors filed motions to dismiss charges against six Chinese researchers who had been accused of hiding their ties to Chinese institutions or the Chinese military. The DOJ said at the time that “recent developments” in those cases had prompted the department to “re-evaluate these prosecutions,” stating that the dismissals were made “in the interest of justice.”
However, other reports have suggested that the decision to drop the charges was due to other reasons, such as the FBI’s failure to properly inform the accused of their rights against self-incrimination, Jordan wrote to Garland in a joint letter (pdf) with Rep. Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.) dated Sept. 27.
“It is not clear whether the Department dismissed these [charges] due to reported misconduct by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) or because the Department under your leadership is more invested in pursuing the far-left political goals of the Biden-Harris Administration than in protecting American national security interests,” the letter reads.
“These actions by the Department raise serious concerns about its commitment to confronting the national security threats posed by the People’s Republic of China.” (Read more)

A Time To Demand Media Reform

In journalism school at The Ohio State University, I was taught very basic premises of reporting the news. The professors were sticklers for fact and the correct application of it. In one class, we were given the example of a race between the Soviet Union and the United States. The American won in this two-man contest. The headline in Pravda read: “Soviets finish second; Americans next to last in international race.” We discussed how the headline was factual, but it did not reflect the truth. A little bit of truth makes a better lie. And the mainstream news media has been lying to you for decades. The lies are becoming so bold and slanted that we, as truth-seeking Christian Americans, must demand media reform.
CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC, and even FOX need to wake up to the difference between editorializing and news. They all interchange the two seamlessly. News should be unbiased and unreflective of the reporter’s political viewpoint. The journalist’s mission is to report the news without bias. Trouble is, these “journalists” have been “programmed” by communists in our colleges and universities and they bring with them an inner bias that cannot be undone. They see every issue from the lens of their political beliefs, and to them the American did finish next to last. It’s all how you view the event. These “journalists” view their politics as right and just, so everyone who disagrees is a hater. We are witnessing this every day with COVID 19 and vaccination coverage. 1. Just eight months ago, the whole world knew that if you illegally violated America’s borders, no matter where you came from, you’d be immediately caught, promptly detained, and swiftly removed—perfect precision clockwork. Our border was the envy of nations. Now, our border is the laughingstock of the globe. Anyone, from anywhere, can just illegally walk across our border, turn themselves in, and then be on to the city of their choice. No testing, no masking, no mandates. Free healthcare, deliveries, and medical services in our emergency rooms, all paid for by taxpayers. Drugs pour through like water. Our border agents are disrespected, denigrated, and demoralized.
Now, news reports indicate another 20,000 Haitians are staged in Columbia preparing to make the trek to our Southern Border. But that’s just the beginning. Wave after wave are heading our way, INVITED here to break our laws by Biden, Mayorkas, and the Marxist Democrats. Indeed, at this very moment, House Democrats are preparing to pass a Reconciliation Bill that includes total amnesty for millions of illegal aliens, and removes all limits on green cards and chain migration. Democrats are playing for keeps—Republicans better fight hard, fight strong, and stay united for America, or we won’t have a Country left.
2. The Republicans in the Senate have the cards, including political cards, to stop the onslaught of Democrat Legislation that will further lead to the destruction of the United States. The 19 Senators who voted for the (non) Infrastructure Bill, of which only 11% is infrastructure as we know it, have created a big setback for Republicans. They can’t make mistakes like that again. They must play every card in the deck!

Stunning video of a fireball streaking across the sky above North Carolina last week has been released. The American Meteor Society shared video taken Friday from the porch of a home in Rowland Pond, North Carolina, showing a massive fireball fall from the sky.
NASA says the fireball fell over the North Carolina coast at around 7:40 p.m. and was one of at least five fireballs seen over the U.S. in the same night.
Fireballs are bright meteors categorized as brighter than the planet Venus, according to the society, a nonprofit that monitors meteors.
On Friday, the organization received 148 fireball reports from Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, West Virginia and Virginia. The fireball in North Carolina had the largest group of eyewitness accounts, with more than 80 people reporting it.
NASA says an analysis of these accounts shows the meteor was visible 48 miles above the ocean off Camp Lejeune and soared northeast at about 32,000 miles per hour. It traveled 26 miles through Earth's upper atmosphere then disintegrated 28 miles above Morehead City on the coast.
Meteoroids usually enter the earth's atmosphere at 25,000 mph to 160,000 mph but rapidly decelerate as they travel through the atmosphere, according to the society. (CBS News)

Afghanistan: 'Christian Taliban' Ask to 'Meet Jesus'

Despite the threat of persecution, Afghans are turning to Christianity in growing numbers — and creating a wave of “Christian Taliban,” a ministry to Afghanistan reports.
“The word ‘Taliban’ actually means ‘student,'” said Dr. Rex Rogers, president of Christian media ministry SAT-7 USA (www.sat7usa.org), “and right now increasing numbers of Afghans are becoming ‘Taliban of Jesus’ — that is, students of Christ.”
The ministry’s Christian satellite television and online programs — presented round-the-clock by Middle East Christians speaking the local Farsi and Dari languages — reach every part of the nation, including remote mountain villages where people have never met a Christian in person.
Young viewers are so eager to meet Jesus, they’re contacting the ministry on their phone apps to ask if Jesus is in the studio.
And their parents want to know “where Jesus lives, so we can meet him.”
‘No Hiding’ Jesus
“Although Christians have been forced into hiding, Afghan children — the future of the nation — are certainly not hiding their curiosity about Jesus,” Rogers said. “It brings tears to my eyes when I hear these Afghan children quoting Jesus’ words by heart, creating their own worship songs, and using them to deal with the intense fear they’re going through.”
One viewer in Afghanistan — sick of the terror and fear imposed by radicals — called the ministry’s counseling team, asking to meet Jesus in person.
“A week later, he called again — this time, with 25 young men crammed into his apartment, some having to stand in the bathroom because there was no other space, all eager to know more about Jesus,” Rogers said.
