"Standing United Together....Under the Cross of Christ"
TODAY'S TOP STORY

WASHINGTON — A group of retired military officers are calling for the resignations of Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Army Gen. Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, over their handling of the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan.

The conservative group Flag Officers 4 America orchestrated the letter signed by 87 officers that accuses Austin and Milley of failing to recommend “against this dangerous withdrawal in the strongest possible terms" that left 13 U.S. troops dead.

“Conversely, if they did do everything within their ability to persuade the president to not hastily exit the country without ensuring the safety of our citizens and Afghans loyal to America, then they should have resigned in protest as a matter of conscience and public statement,” the group wrote in the letter.

Among the signatories are retired Vice Adm. John Poindexter, who served as former President Ronald Reagan’s national security advisor, and one retired four-star admiral, Adm. Jerome Johnson.

Flag Officers 4 America is the same organization that in May published a letter with 124 retired admirals and generals accusing President Joe Biden of launching “a full-blown assault on our Constitution rights in a dictatorial manner” over his use of executive orders.

In its Monday letter, the group called the withdrawal “disastrous” and “hasty,” claiming the Americans and vulnerable Afghans left in Afghanistan after U.S. forces left Monday are now “de facto hostages of the Taliban at this time.”

The group of officers further alleged Austin and Milley should resign for other “leadership, training and moral reasons” related to the Pentagon’s focus this year on addressing racism and extremism within the ranks.

“It has become clear that top leaders in our military are placing mandatory emphasis on [politically correct] ‘wokeness’ related training which is extremely divisive and harmful to unit cohesion, readiness and war fighting,” the group said in its letter. “Our military exists to fight and win our nation’s wars and that must be the sole focus of our top military leaders.”

- Father God, we thank You for the group Flag Officers 4 America and for their work in calling both the military leaders named here, as well as Joe Biden, to account for their actions . We agree that the officers named here need to stand down, as  they have miserably failed both our nation, and the hostages in Afghanistan. We ask for Your Hand of protection to rest upon each one, and that their efforts will succeed. Amen.

FOCUS ON ISRAEL

1. Syrian army and pro-Iran militias continue offensive of rebel enclave bordering Israel - JNS

(September 1, 2021 / JNS) Syrian elite army forces and pro-Iranian militias escalated their offensive on Tuesday against rebels in the southwest region of Syria bordering Israel and Jordan, according to residents, military and opposition sources.

Fighting increased earlier this week after the failure of Russian peace efforts meant to stop an offensive against Deraa al-Balaad, the main part of Deraa, reported Reuters. Military sources and witnesses said that improvised missiles were fired into Deraa al-Balaad by the Syrian army and Iran-backed militias.

Army sources said troops had surrounded a rebel stronghold of Deraa al-Balaad, the main part of the city of Deraa over the past two months. (Read more)

2. How should Lapid deal with ‘bad idea’ to open US consulate in Jerusalem for Palestinians? - World Israel News

Foreign Minister Yair Lapid and the State of Israel have the legal means to block Washington’s attempts to open a consulate in eastern Jerusalem for the Arabs, an international legal expert says.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Lapid said that Israel maintains that the reopening of the consulate, which was closed by President Donald Trump in 2018 when the embassy was moved from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, is “a bad idea, and we’ve told America we think it’s a bad idea.”

The move “will send the wrong message, not only to the region, not only to the Palestinians, but also to other countries, and we don’t want this to happen.”

Furthermore, “we have an interesting yet delicate structure of our government and we think this might destabilize this government, and I don’t think the American administration wants this to happen,” he said. (Read more)

3. COVID: Only people jabbed in Israel are to be exempt from quarantine - Jerusalem Post

People vaccinated abroad are not going to be exempt from quarantine under the new regulations that come into effect on Friday, the Health Ministry’s spokesperson has clarified to The Jerusalem Post. They will be able to skip isolation if they have received a third shot in Israel. However, some confusion remains.
The clarification came two days after the ministry announced that beginning Friday, individuals considered fully vaccinated under new criteria will not be required to fully isolate when they enter the country – unless they come from red nations (currently Bulgaria, Brazil, Mexico, and Turkey).

According to the criteria, Israelis who received their third shot at least a week prior, have had their second shot or recovered within the last six months, or have received one dose of the vaccine after recovering are considered protected and therefore will just need to isolate until they get the results of the PCR test taken upon arrival, or a maximum of 24 hours. (Read more)

4. Gantz: Soldiers have full backing to neutralize threats - Israel National News

Defense Minister Benny Gantz on Wednesday addressed the death of Sgt. Barel Hadarya Shmueli, who was shot at close range during riots on the Gaza border, as well as criticism of the IDF's regulations for opening fire.

"I trust that they know how to draw the necessary lessons. The soldiers have full backing to act to neutralize anyone who has the means and intent to kill, according to the orders. The instructions for opening fire are set by the military echelon, and so it will continue to be," Gantz said.

Barel Shmueli passed away on Monday, over a week after he was critically wounded in Hamas-orchestrated riots on the Gaza border. The shooting raised questions over how the terrorist was able to get so close to the border fence and shot a Border Police officer at such close range. (Read more)

5. Israel Opposes US Plan to Reopen Jerusalem Consulate as ‘Destabilizing’ - Algemeiner

Israel said on Wednesday that a US plan to reopen its consulate in Jerusalem that has traditionally been a base for diplomatic outreach to Palestinians is a “bad idea” and could destabilize Prime Minister Naftali Bennett’s new government.

The prior administration of President Donald Trump signaled support for Israel’s claim on Jerusalem as its capital by moving the US embassy there from Tel Aviv and subsuming the consulate in that mission.

It was among several moves that incensed the Palestinians, who want eastern Jerusalem as capital of a hoped-for, future state.

President Joe Biden has pledged to restore ties with the Palestinians, back a two-state solution and move forward with reopening the consulate. It has been closed since 2019, with Palestinian affairs handled by the embassy.

“We think it’s a bad idea,” Foreign Minister Yair Lapid told a news conference when asked about the reopening. “Jerusalem is the sovereign capital of Israel and Israel alone, and therefore we don’t think it’s a good idea. (Read more)

1. US citizen stranded in Afghanistan says no one told her last planes were leaving - New York Post

A terrified American citizen who was an interpreter for the US military has said she is now stranded in Afghanistan — because no one told her the last flights were leaving Monday. “I just found out that [the last US troops] left, and I was just silent for a while,” the interpreter, using the pseudonym Sara for safety, told CNN Monday night.

“ i just can’t believe no one told me that this is the last flight.” Sara said she is now more terrified than during any of her missions helping the military over 14 years. “They left us to whom? To those people who wanted to always kill us?”

“This is my fear,” she told “Cuomo Prime Time” of Taliban troops who have reportedly been going door-to-door seeking revenge on those who helped their opposition.
“It’s just heartbreaking … I still had hope that we would leave.”

2. In secret texts, U.S. military officials lamented leaving Americans behind in Kabul - Just The News

[with apologies for the language referenced below]

President Biden declared to a puzzled country on Tuesday that the U.S. evacuation from Afghanistan was an "extraordinary success," while his Pentagon portrayed a prosaic, workaday process to repatriate Americans still stranded in the war-torn country.

But text messages between U.S. military commanders and private citizens mounting last-minute rescues tell a far different story, one in which pleading American citizens were frantically left behind at the Kabul airport gate this past weekend to face an uncertain fate under Taliban rule while U.S. officials sought to spread the blame between high-ranking generals and the State Department.

"We are f*cking abandoning American citizens," an Army colonel assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division wrote Sunday in frustration in a series of encrypted messages that detailed the failed effort to extricate a group of American citizens, hours before the last U.S. soldiers departed Afghanistan. (Read more)

- Lord God we pray over this administration that they would start consulting you and your wisdom when making critical decisions that affects the entire world. We ask God that you would lay it heavy on their hearts to repent and turn from their wicked ways telling the truth to Americans and to the world about what is taking place. Amen.

- “Get wisdom, get understanding; do not forget my words or turn away from them.” (Proverbs 4:5)

3. Members of Congress who served still working to extricate those stranded in Afghanistan - Just The News

In the hours after the last U.S. soldier boarded a plane to depart Afghanistan, members of Congress remained in contact with Americans and their allies still seeking to leave the country. U.S. Sen. Mark Kelly, a freshman Arizona Democrat, said Tuesday morning that he’s grateful for the 800,000 service members who had served in the war-torn country over the last two decades. He added that his office is still in communication with some in Afghanistan.

“I will continue working to assist Americans and Afghan partners trying to leave Afghanistan,” the former U.S. Navy captain said. “Leaving any American citizen behind is unacceptable, and I will keep pushing this administration to do everything in its power to get our people out.”

U.S. Rep. Ruben Gallego, a Phoenix Democrat and Operation Iraqi Freedom veteran who served in the Marine Corps, struck a dire tone Saturday in describing his office’s efforts to help those stuck in Afghanistan. (Read more)

- Thank you Lord for brave leaders on both sides of the political isle willing to work together to save Americans abandoned in Afghanistan. Let their efforts be speedy and successful in Jesus name we pray. Amen.

4. Trump responds to grieving mom of fallen Marine - DML News

Former President Donald Trump has responded with a public statement after the mother of one of the U.S. Marines killed in Kabul last week posted a scathing letter to Joe Biden.
Shanna Chappell, whose son, Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Kareem M. Nikoui, 20, of Norco, California, was killed in the suicide bombing attack at the Kabul airport last week, ripped into Joe Biden in a scathing Facebook post after speaking to him at the Dover Air Force Base on Sunday.

Chappell wrote, “President Joe Biden, This msg is for you! I know my face is etched into your brain! I was able to look you straight in the eyes yesterday and have words with you. After i lay my son to rest you will be seeing me again!”

“Remember i am the one who stood 5 inches from your face and was letting you know i would never get to hug my son again, hear his laugh and then you tried to interrupt me and give me your own sob story and i had to tell you “that this isn’t about you so don’t make it about you!!!” she added.

Tuesday evening, Trump posted the following public statement to the grieving mother:
Shana, you are 100% correct. If I were President, your wonderful and beautiful son Kareem would be with you now, and so would the sons and daughters of others, including all of those who died in the vicious Kabul airport attack. (Read more)

- Lord God our hearts break for the families who lost their loved ones due to the incompetence of this current administration. We thank you Lord that we don’t have to try and pursue justice for the situation for you say in your word you care for us and that vengeance in yours. Amen!

5. Ida’s sweltering aftermath: No power, no water, no gasoline - AP News

Hundreds of thousands of Louisianans sweltered in the aftermath of Hurricane Ida on Tuesday with no electricity, no tap water, precious little gasoline and no clear idea of when things might improve. Long lines that wrapped around the block formed at the few gas stations that had fuel and generator power to pump it. People cleared rotting food out of refrigerators. Neighbors shared generators and borrowed buckets of swimming pool water to bathe or to flush toilets.

“We have a lot of work ahead of us and no one is under the illusion that this is going to be a short process,” Gov. John Bel Edwards said as the cleanup and rebuilding began across the soggy region in the oppressive late-summer heat.

New Orleans officials announced seven places around the city where people could get a meal and sit in air conditioning. The city was also using 70 transit buses as cooling sites and will have drive-thru food, water and ice distribution locations set up on Wednesday, Mayor LaToya Cantrell said. Edwards said state officials also were working to set up distribution locations in other areas. (Read more)

- Lord, we pray for those in Louisiana, Mississippi, California and all those being impacted by weather and natural disasters. Be with the first responders who are meeting the spiritual, physical, and emotional needs of residents. We thank you that you are interceding for us and our needs.

- “Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us.” (Romans 8:34)

6. Republicans rip Biden administration for massive food stamps increase: 'Abusing its authority' - Fox Business

Republican lawmakers lambasted the Biden administration on Wednesday over its giant food-stamp expansion, accusing the White House of "abusing its authority" by unilaterally approving the largest permanent increase to benefits in the program's history – a move that could cost taxpayers an additional $20 billion annually.

In a letter to Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack, Reps. James Comer of Kentucky and Don Bacon of Nebraska questioned the administration's "dramatic and indefinite" expansion of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, which will be formally implemented in October.

"Taxpayer-funded SNAP assists low-income Americans in meeting their nutrition need," the lawmakers wrote. "But based on recent actions, the Biden Administration is abusing its authority and expanding SNAP—without congressional authorization."

7.  CDC says unvaccinated should delay travel this labor day weekend - New York Post

Americans unvaccinated against COVID-19 and eyeing travel plans this Labor Day weekend should reconsider, Dr. Rochelle Walensky, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said during a White House briefing Tuesday.

Overall, the health agency advises delaying travel until becoming fully vaccinated, defined as two weeks post-second dose, or two weeks following the single-shot developed by Johnson & Johnson.

“First and foremost, if you are unvaccinated, we would recommend not traveling,” Walensky said during the virtual briefing.

“…People who are fully vaccinated and who are wearing masks can travel although given where we are with disease transmission right now, we would say that people need to take these risks into their own consideration as they think about traveling,” she said. (Read more)

8. Christian Schools Fared Better Than Public Schools during COVID-19 Pandemic, Study Finds - Christian Headlines

According to a new study, Christian schools excelled in performance over public schools during the COVID-19 pandemic.

As reported by CBN News, the survey was released by Herzog Foundation, a Christian organization that seeks to provide Christ-centered K-12 education.

Results found that 80 percent of Christian school parents expressed satisfaction with their child’s education, whereas 55 percent of parents of public-school kids were satisfied. Forty-one percent of parents, however, were not satisfied with their child’s education in public schools.

“The survey found that during the pandemic, Christian school parents found it easier to manage their child’s time, communicate with teachers, manage their child’s assignments, and were better able to keep up their child’s morale than the parents of children in public schools,” he explained. “As a result, while just over half of public school parents reported being satisfied with their child’s education in 2020, fully 80 percent of Christian school parents were.”

Graves also noted that parents across the country are worried about public schools implementing Critical Race Theory in their curriculums. According to the survey, 70 percent of respondents disagree with schools teaching their children CRT and concepts that say, “white people are inherently privileged and black people and others are oppressed.” (Read more)

- Lord God, we thank You that many parents are now waking up to the dangers of placing their children in  our public schools. We ask that You would continue to provide the means for each family to provide alternative ways of instruction, so that their children can be raised to know You and to honor our Constitution. In Your Name, amen and amen.

- "But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." (Phil. 4:19)

9. Harvard’s New Lead Chaplain Is Atheist - CBN News

Harvard University — originally a seminary training ministers with the motto “Truth for Christ and the Church” — has a new chief chaplain, and he’s an atheist.
Greg Epstein, author of the book “Good Without God,” has served as the humanist chaplain at the Massachusetts school for years. But now he’s been promoted to president of the organization of chaplains, according to The New York Times, which reported his election as unanimous.

“There is a rising group of people who no longer identify with any religious tradition, but still experience a real need for conversation and support around what it means to be a good human and live an ethical life,” the 44-year-old Epstein told The Times. “We don't look to a god for answers. We are each other’s answers.”

Epstein’s chaplain colleagues at Harvard felt he was a good choice to lead them, given young people’s lack of religiosity. A survey published in December 2020 by the American Enterprise Institute found the most common religious identity for Americans ages 18 to 29 is “none” with more than one-third of young adults (34%) saying they identified as religiously unaffiliated, describing themselves as atheist, agnostic, or “nothing in particular.” (Read more)

- Lord, there is a rapid shift in our culture to not only turn away from You but to deny that you are Lord. I pray I will not hold back the gospel from someone just because he or she claims to be an atheist. Reveal Yourself to those who do not believe. I pray the words of Ezekiel over the unbelievers in this life which says, “And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.”

- “And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.”           (Ezekiel 36:26)

10. Shooting reported at North Carolina high school - New York Post

A North Carolina high school has been placed on lockdown after at least one person was reportedly shot on campus Wednesday, authorities said. Authorities received a call just after 12 p.m. from a school resource officer about someone shot at Mount Tabor High School in Winston-Salem, news station WXII reported.

“There has been a shooting on school property,” the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office wrote on Facebook. “We and the [Winston-Salem Police Department] have secured the campus and are doing everything possible to keep students safe.”

The sheriff’s office said it had begun transporting all students to the Robinhood Family YMCA, a little over a mile away. “Parents can report there to be reunited with their children,” authorities said. “Reunification will take some time as students are being transported in stages. (Read more)

- Lord God we cover this situation in the blood of your son Jesus. We pray over all school faculty, students and families affected that peace would be brought to their hearts. We pray Lord that you would supernaturally assist all who are investigating this matter in Jesus name amen.

- “And all the people said, “His blood shall be on us and on our children.” (Matt. 27:25)

Stupidocrisy: Channeling Dukakis

The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, September 1, 2021

It was early morning mid-October 1988 when my partner and I were in an edit suite in New York finishing up a political commercial for one of our clients. We were called into the next edit suite for our opinion. A couple of Roger Ailes’s political consultants were working on a project for the George HW Bush presidential campaign and they wanted our opinion. It was not unusual for us to collaborate with Roger Ailes, who was a premier political consultant prior to becoming president of FOX News, because my partner left Ailes Communications to start Princeton-Fairfax Communications with me. We were viewing on the studio’s big screen shots of the funniest little guy riding around in an army tank.

Here we are at about 2:00 am speeding up, slowing down, getting a good chuckle from footage of Democratic Presidential Candidate Michael Dukakis riding around in circles in an army tank looking like a chipmunk from some cartoon. Ailes had written some copy around the news footage of Dukakis’ visit to a General Dynamics facility a month earlier where he took a joy ride in an M1A1 Abrams battle tank. Dukakis was hoping it would boost his image from being a military and foreign policy weakling. Well, we viewed that footage for quite a while before selecting the final cuts in what became a very famous commercial about Dukakis’ terrible record of military opposition. One of the lines in the copy was “He even criticized our rescue mission to Grenada and our strike on Libya. And now he wants to be our commander in chief.”

Dukakis suffered a landslide loss, only carrying 10 states and Washington, DC. The rest is history. At least until today. Dukakis likely would have been the biggest idiot since Jimmy Carter to sit in the White House, but the American people decisively put their foot down, especially after the tank commercial brought into clear focus what could happen under a Dukakis White House. Fast forward to 2020, where another chipmunk hid in his basement for most of the campaign, held sparsely-attended rallies at drive-ins, and bumbled through speeches promoting an insane platform of wealth redistribution and submissive foreign policy. The difference this time is THAT guy made it to the White House.

And we are seeing first-hand the channeling of Dukakis in every policy decision from not securing our border to mishandling a pandemic to rising inflation and spending to extraordinary foreign policy travesties with Iran and Afghanistan. The demonstrated incompetence of Joe Biden AND HIS ADMINISTRATION, mixed with delusional arrogance places all of us and our families in great danger. Psalm 34:15 says, “The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.” Let us cry out to the Lord that He may hear our pleas and deliver us from this trouble. Until then, like Dukakis, Biden is running around in circles thinking he is the emblem of courage and righteousness when in reality he is…say it with me…Stupidocrisy.

Supreme Court allows Texas’ 6-week abortion ban to take effect

The Supreme Court early Wednesday let a Texas state law take effect that allows private citizens to sue to uphold a ban on the procedure after six weeks of pregnancy, potentially creating a new template for states to impose strict restrictions on the procedure.

The court’s decision to not act on an emergency petition from Texas abortion clinics comes as the justices prepare to more broadly reconsider the right to an abortion it established almost 50 years ago. In May, justices agreed to review Mississippi’s ban on the procedure after 15 weeks of pregnancy — a direct challenge to Roe v. Wade, the landmark 1973 decision that legalized abortion nationwide. Those arguments are expected later this year, with a ruling in 2022.

"This is a de facto overturning of Roe before the Supreme Court has time to hear the Mississippi case," said Planned Parenthood President Alexis McGill Johnson. "And Texas will now go back to being a pre-Roe state, turning the clock back 50 years."

Beyond outlawing abortion as early as six weeks into a pregnancy, the Texas law, signed in May, would deputize citizens to file civil suits against abortion providers or anyone who helps facilitate the procedure after six weeks, such as a person who drives a pregnant person to the clinic. Individuals found to have violated the law would have to pay $10,000 to the person who successfully brings such a suit — a bounty abortion rights advocates warn will encourage harassment, intimidation and vigilantism. (POLITICO) Read more.

- Thank you, Lord, for this tremendous victory for life! We ask that this ruling would indeed be the precedent for the overruling of Roe v. Wade later this year. Praise God!

VA Supreme Court Reinstates Virginia Teacher Who Opposed Transgender Pronoun Mandate

The Virginia Supreme Court rejected Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) appeal Monday, affirming the Circuit Court's decision to reinstate Byron "Tanner" Cross, a physical education teacher at Leesburg Elementary School.

As CBN News has reported, Cross made headlines earlier this year after he was suspended for telling the school board that he wouldn't address children by preferred pronouns because it violates his Christian beliefs.

"I love all of my students, but I will never lie to them, regardless of the consequences," he said in late May. "I'm a teacher, but I serve God first, and I will not affirm that a biological boy can be a girl, and vice versa, because it's against my religion. It's lying to a child. It's abuse to a child. And it's sinning against our God."

Attorneys with Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), who represented Cross, welcomed the court's ruling.

"Teachers shouldn't be forced to promote ideologies that are harmful to their students and that they believe are false, nor should they be silenced for commenting at a public meeting," said ADF Senior Counsel Tyson Langhofer, director of the ADF Center for Academic Freedom. "The lower court's decision was a well-reasoned application of the facts to clearly established law, as the Virginia Supreme Court found."

But, the decision could raise several issues for LCPS, which recently passed the pro-transgender policies that Cross had been protesting.  (CBN) Read more.

An Accidental Discovery Hints at a Hidden
Population of Cosmic Objects

new study offers a tantalizing explanation for how a peculiar cosmic object called WISEA J153429.75-104303.3 – nicknamed “The Accident” – came to be. The Accident is a brown dwarf. Though they form like stars, these objects don’t have enough mass to kickstart nuclear fusion, the process that causes stars to shine. And while brown dwarfs sometimes defy characterization, astronomers have a good grasp on their general characteristics.

Can you see the dark spot moving in the bottom left corner of the screen? It’s a brown dwarf nicknamed “The Accident,” which was discovered by citizen scientist Dan Caselden. It had slipped past typical searches because it doesn’t look like any other known brown dwarfs.

Or they did, until they found this one.

The Accident got its name after being discovered by sheer luck. It slipped past normal searches because it doesn’t resemble any of the just over 2,000 brown dwarfs that have been found in our galaxy so far.

As brown dwarfs age, they cool off, and their brightness in different wavelengths of light changes. It’s not unlike how some metals, when heated, go from bright white to deep red as they cool. The Accident confused scientists because it was faint in some key wavelengths, suggesting it was very cold (and old), but bright in others, indicating a higher temperature. Read More

'Everything is Coming Together:' Pro-Lifers Say the End of Roe v. Wade is Closer Than Ever

For 25 years, the National Institute of Family and Life Advocates, also known as NIFLA, has equipped pregnancy centers to serve women and their communities. Now, after all the time, work and money, its leaders and supporters are talking about the potential end of legalized abortion in America. The numbers and accomplishments help tell the story of how the group helps women choose life via some 1600 US pregnancy centers and the introduction of using ultrasounds to the pro-life movement.

"Since we started that over 1,300 pro-life medical clinics using ultrasound are in existence across the country," NIFLA'S president, Tom Glessner, told CBN News. "An abortion-minded mother comes in, she's been told it's a blob of tissue, she sees the ultrasound and bingo. We've seen huge numbers of mothers choose life because of that."

Alveda King applauds the boots on the groundwork. "Pregnancy care centers are the heart of the pro-life movement," said King. "The reason I believe that is they don't just say to the mother at the door and she's pregnant and faced with a decision to birth a child or not, but they speak to the mother. They support the birth of the child; the father is welcome, and the community is welcome. So I'm very fond of NIFLA'S work," she said.

NIFLA recently hosted a gathering of pro-lifers as part of its annual leadership summit, at a time when many in the movement are more hopeful than ever that Roe versus Wade, the 1973 supreme court decision that legalized abortion, might be overturned.

Mississippi recently asked the US supreme court to take another look at the case, arguing that states should be allowed to decide whether to regulate abortion.

With a majority of conservative supreme court justices, many say the time is ripe. That includes Abby Johnson – a former manager in the abortion industry. "Right now I'm so hopeful," said Johnson "We've got I think almost four times the number of pregnancy centers as we have abortion clinics in the United States. Abortion clinics are closing down year after year. Culture is changing. Young people's minds are changing."

Glessner agrees that now is a good time for the abortion decision to be overturned. "It just seems like everything is coming together at the right time," he explained. "We have six potential justices on that court who could vote to overturn Roe. And if the court votes not to actually overturn Roe, if they uphold the Mississippi law, Roe's dead." (CBN) Read more.

Thoughts for Repentance
40 Days of Prayer

LUKEWARMNESS | DAY 19
This is day nineteen in our journey. Join us even if you are beginning today. Each day starting Saturday August 7 we have posted a sin which the Lord would have us confess and remove through personal repentance. God willing, these 40 days will lead us to the Day of Atonement, Yom Kippur September 15.

Today the sin is lukewarmness.

There's a SPIRITUAL DROUGHT in every nation on the planet. We are not yet honoring the Authority of the Risen Christ that He revealed in Matthew 28:18: " ALL authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth."

Music:  John Stockton

Scripture: Ascribe to the Lord the glory due His name. Psalm 29:2

Lyrics:
Down at the cross where my Savior died,
Down where for cleansing from sin I cried,
There to my heart was the blood applied;
Glory to His name!

Refrain
Glory to His name, glory to His name:
There to my heart was the blood applied;
Glory to His name!

I am so wondrously saved from sin,
Jesus so sweetly abides within;
There at the cross where He took me in;
Glory to His name!

Refrain

Oh, precious fountain that saves from sin,
I am so glad I have entered in;
There Jesus saves me and keeps me clean;
Glory to His name!

Refrain

Come to this fountain so rich and sweet,
Cast thy poor soul at the Savior’s feet;
Plunge in today, and be made complete;
Glory to His name!

Refrain
