Biden Is Committed to 'Codifying Roe' Regardless of Supreme Court Action, Psaki Says
|
|
President Biden remains committed to "codifying" Roe v. Wade in law in light of the U.S. Supreme Court taking up a major abortion case, spokeswoman Jen Psaki says.
On Monday, the high court announced that it would consider the constitutionality of a 2018 Mississippi law that prohibits abortion after the 15th week of a woman's term. The law includes exceptions for medical emergencies and fetal abnormality. The justices in an order said they would limit the scope of the case to one question: Are all laws restricting pre-viability abortions unconstitutional?
It is the most significant abortion case in more than a decade and could lead to the dismantling of Roe, the 1973 decision that legalized abortion nationwide.
Psaki, the White House press secretary, was asked Monday what the Biden administration would do if the law is upheld.
President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, Psaki said, "are devoted to ensuring that every American has access to healthcare, including reproductive healthcare, regardless of their income, zip code, race, health insurance status, or immigration status."
"Reproductive healthcare" is a phrase used by the pro-choice community that encompasses abortion. "The president is committed to codifying Roe," Psaki said, "regardless" of the "outcome of this case."
Theologian and seminary president Albert Mohler on Tuesday called the Supreme Court's action a "big development" and "good news" for the pro-life community. He noted that it takes four justices to take up a case – and that justices "tend to pick the cases that they think will be of the greatest constitutional importance."
The Supreme Court likely will not overturn Roe in this specific case, Mohler said, but the pro-life community nevertheless should be encouraged. That's because this case could be a major step toward protecting unborn life, he added. (Christian Headlines) Read more.

Father God, although this action will not lead to the actual overturning of Roe v. Wade, we thank You that this is a step in the right direction. We claim the Blood of the Lamb over this case, and we rest our own case before the High Court of heaven, where Your law is written. We stand in repentance for the lives of over 60,000 unborn infants who were slain in our nation before each one could see the light of day, and we ask for a swift movement now in the Supreme Court that WILL overturn the wicked edict of Roe v. Wade. In Your name we pray, amen and amen.
IT IS WRITTEN:
"Thou shalt not kill." (Exodus 20:13)
"And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death." (Revelation 12:11)

1. Rockets fired into northern Israel from Lebanon amid fighting in Gaza - Jerusalem Post
Four rockets were fired from Southern Lebanon toward Israel on Wednesday, catching thousands of Israelis by surprise as Hamas continued to fire at the South.
For the first time since the Second Lebanon War in 2006, rocket-warning sirens blared in the Lower Galilee, as well as Haifa’s bayside suburbs of Kiryat Bialik and Kiryat Motzkin, at around 4 p.m.
According to the IDF, of the four rockets identified, one was intercepted, one fell in an open area, and two fell in the sea. In response, the IDF struck several targets with artillery shells.

2. Netanyahu determined to continue Gaza operation despite pressure from Biden - Jerusalem Post
US President Joe Biden told Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu he expects Israel to move towards a ceasefire with Hamas on Wednesday, but Netanyahu said Operation Guardian of the Walls will continue until Israeli citizens are secure.
Following a phone call between the leaders, the White house said that Biden “expected a significant de-escalation today on the path to a ceasefire.”
“The two leaders had a detailed discussion on the state of events in Gaza, Israel’s progress in degrading the capabilities of Hamas and other terrorist elements, and ongoing diplomatic efforts by regional governments and the United States,” the White House readout stated. (Read more)

3. Netanyahu says ‘no stopwatch’ to ceasefire - World Israel News
“We’re not standing with a stopwatch. We are taking care of the operation’s objectives,” Netanyahu said.
Reports of a Israel-Hamas ceasefire (though devotedly wished by the international community) are greatly exaggerated.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has denied the existence of such an agreement, as have Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad terror groups.
President Joe Biden has phoned Netanyahu several times in recent days, hinting that he would like a ceasefire reached sooner than later, but still backing Israel’s defensive measures against Hamas. In a call on Wednesday he was still more explicit, saying he “expects a significant calming already today.” (Read more)

4. IDF believes it can get Mohammad Deif - Israel National News
The IDF and Shin Bet today (Tuesday) asked the political echelon for more time to carry out the military campaign against terrorists in the Gaza Strip, since, according to them, there is an opportunity to reach "quality goals" in Gaza in the near future - chief of which is senior Hamas figure Mohammad Deif, the head of Hamas' military wing and the leader of the current terrorist war against Israel.
According to a report by journalist Dana Weiss, the defense establishment has asked for more time for Guardian of the Walls, in order to realize the potential that has opened up in the Gaza Strip.
The IDF refers to the results of Deif's possible elimination as the "Qasem Soleimani effect", the leader of the Iranian Quds Force that was killed in Syria by the United States. The military says that eliminating a page can change the equation in the region over time - and ask the political echelon for more time to reach its full potential. (Read more)

5. Aid on Way to Gaza Once Again Shelled by Hamas - Jewish Press
Humanitarian aid that was on its way into the Gaza Strip from Israel on Wednesday was once again shelled by Hamas terrorists.
The IDF’s The Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) stated that during the entry of a shipment of civilian aid into the Gaza Strip through the Kerem Shalom crossing, donated by Jordan, the terrorist organizations in the Strip fired three mortar shells at the crossing area.
Following the attack, an alert was activated in the area and Israel decided to stop the entry of the shipment until further notice.
The shipment included a number of trucks with medical equipment destined for the Jordanian hospital in the Gaza Strip. (Read more)

1. North Carolina DA: Andrew Brown Jr.’s death ‘tragic’ but ‘justified’ - Fox News
North Carolina District Attorney Andrew Womble said at a press conference on Tuesday that the deputy-involved shooting of Andrew Brown Jr. “while tragic, was justified” – and no law enforcement officers will be criminally charged in the case.
Womble, the elected district attorney for Judicial District 1, which covers seven counties of the northeastern part of the state, said that Brown was shot at by three Pasquotank deputies, whose actions were "justified because Brown’s actions caused deputies to reasonably believe it necessary to use force to protect themselves and others."
Womble began playing four body camera videos during the press conference, which was broadcast by several news outlets. Read more

2. Dem Sen. Feinstein hits lowest career approval rating as liberals jump ship - WND
It looks like Gov. Gavin Newsom isn’t the only California Democrat who’s become dreadfully unpopular as of late.
New polling shows Sen. Dianne Feinstein sporting only a 35 percent approval rating compared with a 46 percent disapproval rating, the Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies found in a survey released on Thursday. According to the Daily Caller News Foundation, that's tied for the lowest number since she entered the upper chamber in 1992.
The previous 11-point underwater number is from January, so her unpopularity could be classified as rather recent. To make matters worse, she's not doing well among the left flank of the party, either.
California's "strongly liberal" voters approved of Feinstein's performance to the tune of 45 percent while 40 percent disapproved. "Somewhat liberal" voters gave her a better rating, with 49 percent approval and 29 percent disapproval. Read more

3. Christian student fights back against university’s vaccine mandate, cites religious exemption - Christian Post
A Christian student at the University of Alabama-Birmingham has challenged the university's mandatory vaccine policy after being blocked from registering for classes this semester despite having been allowed to register past semesters with no vaccinations.
Jackie Gale has never had a single vaccination because she believes that the Bible commands Christians to honor God regarding how the care for their bodies and not inject extra chemicals into one's body, according to a letter to UAB President Ray L. Watts and the university's lawyer John Daniel from First Liberty Institute attorney Christine Pratt.
Gale, who's a sophomore at the university, had no trouble registering for classes when she was admitted as an entering freshman. But as her second semester was about to start and she attempted to add another class to her schedule she found that the school had put an administrative hold on her record, the letter explained. 4. ICE converting these seven hotels into 'casas' for migrant families - Washington Examiner
Immigration and Customs Enforcement is taking over seven hotels near the southern border starting Friday as the federal agency begins placing migrant families released from Border Patrol custody into the hotels.
Hundreds of people who illegally came over the U.S.-Mexico border with a family member will be placed in hotels in El Paso, Texas, and Chandler, Arizona, this Friday as the Biden administration spends tens of millions of dollars to house people despite having its own holding centers, according to internal documents reviewed by the Washington Examiner.
ICE has not revealed whether the families will be sent back to their home countries or released into the United States. The Biden administration faces a growing problem at the border, where more people are coming across between land ports of entry than during the 2019 humanitarian crisis.

5. California churches wins suit against Governor Newsom's COVID-19 restrictions - Just The News
California District judge issued a statewide injunction against the COVID-19 restrictions against churches and places of worship after a California church and Gov. Gavin Newsom reached a settlement on the matter.
The injunction was issued Monday, following a settlement between Harvest Rock Church and the Democratic governor who last summer imposes restrictions on indoor activity in response to the virus pandemic, according to Pasadena Now.
"This is a momentous day for churches in America. After nearly a year-long battle defending our religious freedoms, our lawsuit has reached a permanent settlement in our favor," Pastor Ché Ahn said, according to Newsmax. 6. Three Guantanamo Bay prisoners approved for release by high-level White House panel - Just The News
Three prisoners held in the U.S. military prison in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, have been approved for release by the Biden administration.
Pakistani man Saifullah Paracha, who at 73 is the oldest of the 40 prisoners still held at the prison; Abdul Rabbani, 54, also from Pakistan; and Uthman Abdul al-Rahim Uthman, 40, of Yemen, are set to be freed from the prison after a decision by a White House panel Monday, according to Agency France Press.

7. Arizona election auditors: Deleted database recovered, ballot chain-of-custody still missing - Just The News
Arizona Senate Republicans tried to ease tensions with Maricopa County officials angry about the ongoing election audit in a special hearing Tuesday. This has nothing to do with overturning the election" that Joe Biden won in the state's largest county, Senate President Karen Fann said in her opening statement. She claimed to have always said she doesn't expect to find "intentional wrongdoing" by county officials.
The Board of Supervisors said they wouldn't testify at Tuesday's hearing in their own Monday meeting and formal response to Fann's questions about irregularities and missing data discovered by Senate-hired auditors. Those auditors updated Fann and Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Warren Petersen on their efforts Tuesday. Cyber Ninjas CEO Doug Logan said he expected to complete the audit by the end of June, blaming technical issues and insufficient staffing for the slow pace.
Despite finding a "master file table" confirming that a database directory was deleted from the server, Cotton has been able to recover the deleted files and does not need anything more from the county, he told lawmakers. "I think that's some good news," Petersen replied. Read more

8. Trump calls on GOP to reject Jan. 6 commission unless it also examines violence in other cities - Just The News
Former President Donald Trump called Tuesday for congressional Republicans to reject establishing a commission to investigate the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, saying that the discussion should be dropped unless riots and violence in other U.S. cities would also examined.
"Republicans in the House and Senate should not approve the Democrat trap of the January 6 Commission. It is just more partisan unfairness and unless the murders, riots, and fire bombings in Portland, Minneapolis, Seattle, Chicago, and New York are also going to be studied, this discussion should be ended immediately. Republicans must get much tougher and much smarter, and stop being used by the Radical Left. Hopefully, Mitch McConnell and Kevin McCarthy are listening!" Trump said.
The House is expected to vote Wednesday on legislation that would establish a commission to probe into the Jan. 6 incident. House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy on Wednesday released a statement saying that he does not support the legislation.

- First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. (1 Timothy 2:1-2)

9. Trump responds to news of criminal probe in fiery statement - DML News
Former President Donald Trump released a statement Wednesday morning, in response to the news that the New York state attorney general’s office said on Tuesday that its investigation into the Trump Organization is now a criminal probe, and not a purely civil one.
Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance, a Democrat who has been probing into Trump’s business for over two years, has said he is investigating “possibly extensive and protracted criminal conduct” by the Trump Organization, and is looking for tax and insurance fraud and falsified business records.
“ i have just learned, through leaks in the mainstream media, that after being under investigation from the time I came down the escalator 5 ½ years ago, including the fake Russia Russia Russia Hoax, the 2 year, $48M, No Collusion Mueller Witch Hunt, Impeachment Hoax #1, Impeachment Hoax #2, and others, that the Democrat New York Attorney General has “informed” my organization that their “investigation” is no longer just a civil matter but also potentially a “criminal” investigation working with the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office.
There is nothing more corrupt than an investigation that is in desperate search of a crime. But, make no mistake, that is exactly what is happening here.” Read more

- Lord God, you are a mighty and powerful God and you have supernaturally shielded and protected Donald Trump and his family and his administration from all plots and schemes planned against him until today. Lord God, we know that you will be with him once again during this investigation so that he will once again be vindicated. Thank You, O Lord, for protecting President Donald John Trump. Amen and amen.
- Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. (1 John4:4)

Stupidocrisy: Space Force Space Kadet
The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, May 19, 2020
Back in college there was a young lady who was really out there. I mean she wore funky clothes, said crazy things and had a far-away look in her eyes. Most of what she did and said didn’t reflect any common sense. She earned the nickname Space Kadet—with a “K” for extra Krazy. She was very intelligent, but, boy, was she different. Fast forward to today when the United States has officially entered the realm of having a Space Force. The mission of the Space Force is to fly, fight, and win. The website talks a lot about preparing for the 22nd Century and defending “our way of life on earth through our interests in space.” There must be a lot of confusion among leadership about who they are defending.
CNN reports that Space Force Lt. Col. Matthew Lohmeier joined The Steve Gruber podcast to discuss his new book, “Irresistible Revolution: Marxism’s Goal of Conquest & the Unmaking of the American Military,” which alleges that Marxist ideologies are becoming widespread within the armed forces. He said, “Since taking command as a commander about 10 months ago, I saw what I consider fundamentally incompatible and competing narratives of what America was, is and should be. That wasn’t just prolific in social media, or throughout the country during this past year, but it was spreading throughout the United States military. And I had recognized those narratives as being Marxist in nature.”

2021 WILL BE A NEW BEGINNING FOR THE BODY OF CHRIST
– By Sean Feucht
|
|
[These remarks were delivered on the National Day of Prayer in Corpus Christi, Texas]
God promises a fresh start. He is in the business of redemption and new beginnings. Isaiah 60:1-3 promises us: “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you.”
We know that our battle is not against “flesh and blood” But against “powers and principalities in the spiritual realm” (Ephesians 6:12). Because this is a spiritual battle we must fight with spiritual weapons. Our greatest weapon in this spiritual battle is the place of prayer and worship.
On this National Day of Prayer, it is time for the church in America to re-discover who she is and what God is capable of doing through a church fearlessly in love with Him.
If God be God, we must follow Him, though all the world come against us.
Today, let’s remember our identity as the church that the gates of Hell cannot prevail against.
Let’s shake off the influence of those that would have us shrink back and stay silent.
Let’s step into our God-given authority in prayer.
And no matter what comes, LET US WORSHIP.

We'll Never Say Goodbye
To listen to this classic hymn, CLICK HERE
Words: Anzentia Chapman
Music: John Tenney
Scripture: He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces. Isaiah 25:8
Lyrics:
With friends on earth we meet in gladness,
While swift the moments fly,
Yet ever comes the thought of sadness,
That we must say, Goodbye.
Refrain
We’ll never say goodbye in Heav’n,
We’ll never say goodbye,
For in that land of joy and song,
We’ll never say goodbye.
How joyful is the hope that lingers,
When loved ones cross death’s sea,
That we, when all earth’s toils are ended,
With Thee shall ever be.
Refrain
No parting words shall e’er be spoken,
In yonder home so fair,
But songs of joy, and peace, and gladness,
We’ll sing forever there.
Refrain

About Capitol Hill Prayer Partners
|
|
|
Our Mission Statement
Capitol Hill Prayer Partners (CHPP) is a ministry which is positioned on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., helping members of the Body of Christ to "pray for those in authority over us" in our federal government. Our primary purpose is to offer intercession on site for the members of Congress and their staffs each day that the Senate and the House of Representatives are in session; and our chief prayer focus is that "God's will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." [Matthew 6:10].
Because Jesus Christ has shed His blood for all, we, too, pray for ALL, in a nonpartisan manner. Also, because the scriptures indicate that "the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 4:17), we are confident that fervent prayer, offered in the halls of the highest chambers of government in our land, can avail much for America. Capitol Hill Prayer Partners welcomes those who feel called to join us, engaging in this strategic work of intercession for our nation: "For there is no power but of God; the powers that be are ordained of God." [Romans 13:1]
