Texas Gov. Greg Abbott Signs Fetal Heartbeat Abortion Bill
|
|
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott signed legislation on Wednesday banning nearly all abortions after a fetal heatbeat is detected.
Taking effect in September, the bill only allows abortions before the presence of a fetal heartbeat, which can occur as early as six weeks into a pregnancy – and sometimes before a woman knows she is pregnant.
The bill requires that abortion providers check for a fetal heartbeat before performing an abortion and bans them from performing the procedure if one is detected. The new law makes exceptions if a doctor "believes a medical emergency exists" but does not make exceptions for instances of rape or incest, stating that "public and private agencies provide ... emergency contraception for victims of rape or incest."
"Our creator endowed us with the right to life, and yet millions of children lose their right to life every year because of abortion. In Texas, we work to save those lives," Abbott said in a bill-signing ceremony.
The legislation would also allow most private citizens to sue an abortion provider if they believe the provider has violated the law. Additionally, anyone who aided in accessing an abortion after a fetal heartbeat is detected is open to legal liability. Read more

4. Netanyahu: Drone downed by IDF this week was armed, launched by Iran - Times of Israel
A drone downed by the Israel Defense Forces earlier this week was launched by Iran and was armed with explosives, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Thursday.
Until now, the IDF has largely remained mum on the incident, in which the UAV was brought down as it approached Israeli airspace near the city of Beit She’an in the predawn hours of Tuesday morning.
According to Netanyahu, the drone was made by Iran and launched by Iranian forces toward Israel from either Syria or Iraq.
“Iran sent an armed drone to Israel from Iraq or Syria. Iranian forces launched the armed drone, which our forces intercepted on the border between Israel and Jordan,” Netanyahu said, speaking at a press conference alongside German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas. Read more

5. ‘Unspeakable, Hideous’: German Parliamentarians Call for Tougher Measures Against Antisemitic ‘Free Palestine’ Demonstrations - Algemeiner
Politicians of all stripes called for tougher measures against rising antisemitism during a Wednesday night debate in the Bundestag, Germany’s parliament.
The packed chamber, including Chancellor Angela Merkel, also heard appeals to de-escalate the current round of fighting between Israel and the Hamas terrorist organization.
Foreign Minister Heiko Maas of the center-left SPD Party told the debate that Germany had to counter “antisemitic hate preachers, agitators, and violent criminals” with all the legal means at its disposal.
Muslim clerics promoting antisemitic hatred should be treated with equal severity “regardless of whether they have always lived here or have only come here in recent years,” Maas emphasized. Read more

1. Top Republican Senators Blame Middle East Fighting on Biden – The Epoch Times
Top GOP senators on Wednesday laid blame for the fighting in the Middle East at the feet of President Joe Biden, pointing to his administration’s dismissal of the peace accords struck between Israel and several countries under the former president and Biden’s intention to re-enter the Iran nuclear deal.
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) recalled being present when the Abraham Accords were signed at the White House. The agreements were hammered out between the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain and Israel, with help from then-President Donald Trump.
“I spoke with the ambassadors and foreign ministers from the UAE and from Bahrain. Both said virtually the identical thing; both said ‘it is now clear to us that America stands unequivocally with Israel. We want to be friends with America. Therefore we will be friends with Israel.’ That clarity that strength produces peace,” Cruz told a briefing in Washington.
But Biden after entering office undermined Israel by sending hundreds of millions of dollars to the Palestinian Authority, which is closely linked to the terror group Hamas, and stated his goal of re-entering a nuclear agreement with Iran that Trump had withdrawn from. (Read more)

- Lord, we lift up Biden to you-for lack of good counsel, the floodgate to attack Your people was opened; Forgive Biden for what he has done. We now lay this at Your feet and ask for Your mercy and Holy intervention to close all opened doors; We bind all attempts of evil to sway this administration through anyone speaking against Your people, including Rashida Tlaib, AOC and Ilhan Omar. Provide peace to the Palestinians and bring Your victory and protection to the Holy Land, re-establishing Your ancient boundaries-in Jesus name, Amen.

2. American Christians Help Fund Thousands of Bomb Shelters to Protect Israelis from Hamas Attacks – Christian Post.com
As Israel has been bombarded with thousands of missiles fired by Hamas over the past two weeks, American Christians have provided aid from afar by helping fund mobile bomb shelters that will protect Israeli civilians from the attacks.
The International Fellowship of Christians and Jews [The Fellowship] placed 13 mobile bomb shelters in the heavily bombarded city of Ashkelon last Wednesday, along with several other mobile shelters throughout the week, to protect from Hamas terrorist missile fire.
The Fellowship also provided security staff in Ashkelon, a coastal southern Israel city, with 25 protective vests.
The Fellowship, a leading nonprofit founded in 1983 that bridges the gap between American evangelicals and Jews by providing humanitarian aid to Israel and Jewish people, has placed nearly 3,000 bomb shelters in Israel to date. (Read more)

3. House Approves Jan 6 Commission Over GOP Objections – The Hill
The House on Wednesday passed a bill to establish a commission to investigate the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol, earning relatively little support from Republicans as GOP leaders sought to quash a bill negotiated by one of their own members.
Lawmakers passed the bill in a 252-175 vote, with 35 Republicans joining all Democrats in support.
The legislation’s chances appear increasingly slim in the Senate after both Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) came out in opposition to the bill.
The GOP leaders' refusal to back the bill threatens the chances of the proposed commission becoming law as many Republicans seek to divert attention from former President Trump’s role and their own involvement echoing his false claims of election fraud leading up to the insurrection. (Read more)

4. You Might Want to Check on Your Investments Because the Financial Markets are Starting to go Haywire – The Economic Collapse Blog
Is the party almost over? Volatility has returned to Wall Street in a major way, and certain investors are getting absolutely crushed. On Wednesday, a trillion dollars in paper wealth had been wiped out during the trading session at one point, but those losses were later pared back as cryptocurrencies rallied. On social media, there has been a lot of weeping and wailing due to the huge financial losses that some people have experienced this week. But if you think that these losses are bad, just wait until you see what is coming later.
In the old days, investors would carefully select the companies that they were going to invest in. The key was to identify companies that had something of great value to add to society and that were being run very well. In those days, strict adherence to the fundamentals would often bring great rewards. Just ask Warren Buffett.
But these days our financial markets are little more than giant casinos. Companies that lose giant mountains of money year after year are supposedly worth billions of dollars, and “assets” that have no inherent value whatsoever are endlessly gobbled up by drug-fueled “investors” that are looking for a way to get rich quick. 5. Walgreens Closes 17 San Francisco Stores Due to “Out of Control” Shoplifting – Zerohedge.com
The effects of allowing chaos to prevail in Democrat-controlled cities across America might not be evident to liberals and social justice warriors now, but when businesses close up, it's going to be very transparent then.
According to the San Francisco Chronicle, 17 Walgreens Pharmacy locations have shuttered their doors in San Francisco during the past five years. At least ten of the stores in the city have closed since 2019.
Like many other retailers, Walgreens is blaming Proposition 47, which lowered penalties for thefts under $950 and sparked dramatic increases in shoplifting across the metro area over the last several years. Prop. 47 is supported by criminal justice reformers and the liberal establishment, who have also managed to defund the local police. Combining the two has allowed professional shoplifters, homeless, and drug addicts to easily work the system and steal items under the monetary threshold from store to store with limited penalties.
Walgreens San Francisco Supervisor Ahsha Safaí told the Chronicle that the situation is "out of control," adding: "People are scared to go into these stores — seniors, people with disabilities, children. It's just happening brazenly." (Read more)

6. Nearly 20% of Seattle Cops Quit Amid National Protests, Budget Cuts – Zerohedge.com
Just under 20% of Seattle police have quit the force over the past year and a half, according to CBS News citing the city's interim Chief of Police.
The revelation comes after more than a year of violent clashes with anti-police protesters from BLM and Antifa, and a city council which has neutered the Seattle PD's ability to use crowd control devices that social justice activists say didn't go far enough.
To review the last 18 months of policing in Seattle:
In short, the situation is abysmal, leading to roughly 260 officers packing it up for good. (Read more)

7. How COVID put an End to your Right to Due Process – Zerohedge.com
Over a year ago, the covid panic shook the world. We were told it would only be “15 days to flatten the curve” as businesses were locked down, “nonessential” employees were forced out of work (I’ve written about the myth of the nonessential employee here), masks were mandated, and individuals were not allowed to gather in groups or attend religious services.
In typical fashion, a government-mandated “temporary” usurpation of liberty turned into an indefinite infringement, as shown by the fact that we’re still under covid orders four hundred days later. Regardless of the length of time, the question remains that few have asked: What authority does the government have to lock us down and force us out of work?
This brings us to the issue of due process, which at minimum requires the right to appear in front of a judge and represent oneself to a jury of his peers before being stripped of essential liberty. Did the thousands of businesses closed and millions put out of work get this opportunity? Of course not. They were unilaterally stripped of their ability to put food on the table and pay their bills without any opportunity to object. (Read more)

8. It’s Wreckless to Vaccinate Children for COVID 19: Former HHS Coronavirus Advisor – Lifesite News
Former U.S. Health and Human Services (HHS) COVID-19 advisor Dr. Paul Alexander is warning that children’s risk of harm from the COVID-19 vaccines is significantly greater than their risk of harm from the virus.
“The risk to children is so small, there is no reason to put our children in harm’s way at this point. Not with these untested vaccines. This is reckless,” Alexander told Laura Ingraham on Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle.”
Dr. Paul Alexander, who has previously written an article published by the American Institute for Economic Research, titled “We Must Not Be Forced Into Vaccinating Our Children From COVID,” challenged the idea that children should receive COVID-19 vaccines, as expressed by President Joe Biden and COVID-czar Dr. Anthony Fauci.
“Dr. Fauci has said many things before that he has reversed and flip-flopped on, and in this case he makes absolutely no sense to me, and to many scientists,” Alexander told Ingraham. (Read more)

Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all. He keeps all his bones; not one of them is broken." (Psalm 34:17-20)

9. Nobel Prize Winner: Mass COVID Vaccination an “unacceptable mistake” that is creating the variants – Lifesite News
In every country, ‘the curve of vaccination is followed by the curve of deaths,’ the famous virologist said.
French virologist and Nobel Prize winner Luc Montagnier called mass vaccination against the coronavirus during the pandemic “unthinkable” and a historical blunder that is “creating the variants” and leading to deaths from the disease.
. . . While variants of viruses can occur naturally, Montagnier said that vaccination is driving the process. “What does the virus do? Does it die or find another solution?” “It is clear that the new variants are created by antibody-mediated selection due to the vaccination.”

|
- Father, open the eyes of our medical professionals in the United States to listen to this French Virologist! We ask for a miracle to STOP the variants and reverse course of this virus.
- "The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me." (Psalm 23:1-4)

The Clear And Present Evil Of Palestinian Politics
The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, May 20, 2021
Political “Palestine” Is Comprised Of Criminal Terrorists Ruling Over Underserved Arabs Who Live In The Area—In This Case Gaza. Hamas Terrorists Were Elected As Majority Representatives Of The People. The US Has Spent Billions Of Your Tax Dollars Propping Up These Evil People With The Hope Of Civilizing Them With Democracy. How Do You Civilize Hate?
The goal of the international community is for Israel and “Palestinians” to live side by side in peace. Since the expulsion of Israelis from Gaza in 2005, this goal is not attainable because there isn’t a national “Palestine.” Political “Palestine” is comprised of criminal terrorists ruling over underserved Arabs who live in the area—in this case Gaza. Shortly after the Israelis quit Gaza, Hamas, the terrorist group, surfaced in roles as terrorists, political party, and opposition to another representative of a terrorist organization Mahmoud Abbas, Palestinian Liberation Organization chairman, who is also president of the Palestinian National Authority and Chairman of Fatah, the rival political party to Hamas. Manchin and Murkowski call for bipartisan voting rights bill as For The People Act deadlocks in Senate
|
|
|
Democratic Senator Joe Manchin and Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski have made a bipartisan appeal to Congress to reauthorise the Voting Rights Act, a measure that has total support from congressional Democrats but could face Republican roadblocks.
The conservative Democrat from West Virginia has joined Republicans to object to the White House-backed For The People Act, which Democrats and voting rights advocates have warned is an urgent and necessary step to combat a wave of suppressive voting laws and protect Americans’ access to the ballot.
Instead, the two senators have urged House and Senate leaders to take up the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act, a restoration of the 1965 Voting Rights Act that prohibits racial discrimination at the polls. Lawmakers have proposed naming after the late congressman. Democrats universally support the measure.
A restored Voting Rights Act would preserve elements of the landmark civil rights law that were rolled back by the US Supreme Court in 2013, including a provision to require states with a record of voting rights discrimination to receive federal approval before making changes to elections laws.
Mr Manchin has also supported extending that federal oversight to all states.
“Protecting Americans’ access to democracy has not been a partisan issue for the past 56 years, and we must not allow it to become one now,” the senators wrote in a letter to Kevin McCarthy, Mitch McConnell, Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer.
“Inaction is not an option,” they said. “Congress must come together – just as we have done time and again – to reaffirm our longstanding bipartisan commitment to free, accessible, and secure elections for all. We urge you to join us in calling for the bipartisan reauthorisation of the Voting Rights Act through regular order. We can do this. We must do this.”
Neither senator supports the For the People Act, a sweeping enhancement of voting rights and campaign finance reform measures that passed the House of Representatives in March. A senate version of the bill was deadlocked by a party-line vote of 9-9 in the Senate Rules Committee last week. (Yahoo News) Read more here.
- Father God, today we offer a great chorus of PRAISE that the original "We the People Act" has now hit a brick wall in the Senate and will go no further. We ask for Your wisdom to guide both Senators Manchin and Murkowski as they work to write a new bill that will have bipartisan favor, and will be built upon the Voting Rights Act of 1965. In Your name, amen and amen.
- " . . . if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven." (Matthew 18:19)

Miracle in Sderot: Baby unscathed as rocket lands in room
|
|
|
In what is being hailed as a miracle, a baby survived a rocket landing in its room, on Wednesday evening.
The incident took place around 7:20 p.m., Channel 20 reports. It was one of a barrage of five rockets fired at the city of Sderot, three of them damaged homes and property.
But the rocket that has everyone talking is the one that landed in the room where a baby was staying. Incredibly, there were no casualties, but only damage to property. Channel 20’s Hillel Bitton Rosen, at the scene, called it a miracle. With cries of the relieved, but still hysterical, mother in the background, Rosen said she was not yet in a condition to be asked questions.
The rockets launched at Sderot were part of a bombardment directed at a number of southern cities throughout Wednesday, including Ashdod, Ashkelon, Netivot, Beer Sheva, Rehovot and surrounding localities.
At 9:30 p.m., a direct hit was reported on a house in Netivot, between the Gaza Strip and Beer Sheba. There are no injuries, according to initial reports.
The IDF reports that between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, 200 rockets were launched from the Strip. Thirty of them landed in the Strip itself. Ninety percent of the rockets into Israel were intercepted. (World Israel News) Read more.

Temps could hit 100 in Southeast as heat wave looms
|
|
Following a week-long stretch of unseasonably cool conditions across the Southeast, a heat wave now looms for the region. The upcoming surge of warmth will allow record high temperatures to be challenged by early next week, according to AccuWeather forecasters.
The warmup on its own will be an impressive one, with temperatures forecast to soar to July-like levels from late this weekend to early next week. Factoring in how cool it's been recently, when compared to average, may make the heat feel even more oppressive.
During the stretch from May 12-18, average temperatures were running 3-6 degrees Fahrenheit below normal in cities such as Montgomery, Alabama, Atlanta and Nashville.

Evangelical ministry donates bomb shelters to Israeli communities near Gaza border
|
|
As hostilities between Israel and armed groups in the Gaza Strip continue, the International Christian Embassy in Jerusalem has donated nine portable bomb shelters to protect communities near the Gaza border.
“Christians around the world want to do something positive to help Israel now,” ICEJ Vice President David Parsons told The Jerusalem Post. “They are praying and standing up for Israel in their own countries, but feel this is something that they can do to really make a contribution to security and peace in Israel.”
The shelters seek to ensure fewer casualties, said Parsons, whose ministry was founded in 1980 to represent churches, denominations and Christians worldwide “who share a love and concern for Israel and who seek to repair the historic breach between the Church and the Jewish people.”
The shelters will likely be delivered in the next few days, according to the Sunday report. Another six shelters had been ordered and would soon be sent to communities located near the Lebanon border. (Read more)

Shall We Gather at the River
To listen to this classic hymn, CLICK HERE
Words: Robert Lowry
Music: Hanson Place
Scripture: A pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. Revelation 22:1–2
Lyrics:
Shall we gather at the river,
Where bright angel feet have trod,
With its crystal tide forever
Flowing by the throne of God?
Refrain
Yes, we’ll gather at the river,
The beautiful, the beautiful river;
Gather with the saints at the river
That flows by the throne of God.
On the margin of the river,
Washing up its silver spray,
We will talk and worship ever,
All the happy golden day.
Refrain
Ere we reach the shining river,
Lay we every burden down;
Grace our spirits will deliver,
And provide a robe and crown.
Refrain
At the smiling of the river,
Mirror of the Savior’s face,
Saints, whom death will never sever,
Lift their songs of saving grace.
Refrain
Soon we’ll reach the silver river,
Soon our pilgrimage will cease;
Soon our happy hearts will quiver
With the melody of peace.
Refrain
