TODAY'S TOP STORY
GOP Senators Announce Resolution to Support Israel’s Right to Defend Itself Amid Attacks From Hamas

A group of 19 Republican senators unveiled a resolution on May 17 to reaffirm the United States’ support for Israel and its right to defend itself against terrorist attacks, amid ongoing rocket attacks from Hamas that show few signs of abating.

The resolution (pdf), led by Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.), also condemns the current attacks against Israel by Hamas, an Iran-backed and -funded terrorist organization that seized political power in Gaza in 2007.

In the resolution, set to be introduced in Congress this week, the U.S. Senate “opposes the escalating and indiscriminate rocket attacks by Hamas against Israel” and “mourns the loss of innocent life caused by Hamas’s rocket attacks.” The chamber also “urges continued and steadfast support for Israel” and “reaffirms its strong support for Israel’s right to peace and security.”

Scott said in a statement that the people of Israel have for decades endured “unyielding attacks from terrorist groups” such as Hamas and that the United States must be “stronger than ever” in its resolve to stand with Israel after Hamas and other groups fired more than 3,000 rockets at the country.

“I want to be clear: no country, certainly not the United States, would tolerate attacks like these and not take whatever action is necessary to end them,” he said. “As our great ally and the only shining example of democracy in the Middle East, Israel deserves our full support.” (Read more)

Lord God Jehovah, we praise You for this move on behalf of our nation. We thank You for the 19 Republican senators who have now stepped forward to reaffirm our
support for Israel and its right to defend itself against all terrorist attacks. We ask for Your Hand of protection to rest upon each one, and upon their families and the
members of their staffs. Thank You, Lord. We shout "Hallelujah!" at the news of this report. AMEN.

- "Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the LORD!" (Ps. 150:6)

1. Egypt proposes ceasefire beginning Thursday morning - Israel National News

Egyptian mediators have proposed a truce between Israel and the terrorist organizations in Gaza, which will begin on Thursday at 6 AM, AL Arabiya reported.

If the proposal is accepted, it will put an end to Operation Guardian of the Walls after a week and a half of fighting.

Contacts between the parties, mediated by Egypt, are taking place while the fighting in the Gaza Strip continues. Terrorist organizations continue to fire hundreds of rockets at Israel's southern communities while the IDF continues to retaliate by attacking terrorist targets in Gaza.

It was reported earlier Tuesday night that the IDF and Shin Bet asked the political echelon for more time to carry out the military campaign against terrorists in the Gaza Strip, since, according to them, there is an opportunity to reach "quality goals" in Gaza in the near future - chief of which is senior Hamas figure Mohammad Deif, the head of Hamas' military wing and the leader of the current terrorist war against Israel. 2. 250 rockets fired at Israel over Shavuot holiday - Israel National News

The Hamas and Islamic Jihad rocket barrages against Israel continued over the Shavuot holiday, with 250 rockets fired at southern Israel Monday,

A house in Ashdod suffered a direct hit from a rocket.

The Iron Dome system. intercepted 90% of the rockets which were aimed at populated areas. About 25 of the rockets fell in the Gaza Strip. The IDF carried out 200 attacks in the Gaza Strip over the course of the day.

Magen David Adom provided treatment to 12 people who suffered light injuries from the rocket attacks. (Read more)

3. Massive rocket barrage on Israel's south - Israel National News

Gaza terrorists launched a massive rocket barrage on southern Israel shortly before midnight on Tuesday, with red alert sirens blaring throughout the Negev.

The latest barrage follows another barrage earlier Tuesday in which two workers were killed in a direct hit on a packaging factory in the south.

Twelve Israelis have been killed so far in the rocket attacks which began last Monday, Magen David Adom reported Tuesday.

Ten have been killed directly by rocket strikes, while two people died of injuries they sustained while running for shelter during rocket barrages. 324 Israelis have been injured. (Read more)

4. IDF Bombed 120 Targets in Gaza Strip Over Past 24 Hours - Algemeiner

i24 News – The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) continued its daily aerial attacks against terrorist targets in the Gaza Strip amid a constant barrage of rockets fired from the coastal enclave at Israeli communities in southern Israel.

The IDF said on Tuesday that it has bombed 120 targets over the past 24 hours, including 10 rocket launchers.

Many of the strikes were in Gaza City’s affluent Rimal neighborhood, according to IDF Spokesperson Hidai Zilberman.

Fighter jets struck command and control centers located in the homes of three Hamas commanders in the Gaza Strip earlier Tuesday, according to a statement. The three strikes are in addition to hits on the residences of 12 senior Hamas commanders that the IDF says were being used as command and control centers for terrorist activities against Israelis.

The IDF also struck a storage site with equipment and machines for manufacturing Hamas weapons. (Read more)

5. Erdogan: Humanity obligated to confront Israeli aggression in Jerusalem - Israel Hayom

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is continuing his efforts to incite against the Jewish state in the hope of deflecting attention from his government's failed handling of the coronavirus pandemic.

After announcing the country would extend the current lockdown aimed at reining in the outbreak in Turkey until the end of May, Erdogan went on the kind of anti-Israel tirade we have not seen since the weeks following the 2010 incident in which 10 Turkish nationals were killed and several Israeli soldiers were beaten when the Turkish vessel Mavi Marmara attempted to breach Israel's maritime blockade on the Gaza Strip.

The Turkish leader said, "We are all sad and furious at the evilness of the terrorist state that is Israel against the Palestinians. Confronting Israeli aggression in Palestinian cities and Jerusalem is an honorably duty for humanity.

"Turkey is ready to act toward the achievement of peace, and we are willing to make sacrifices. We will lead the struggle at the UN. I embrace all the Palestinian brothers who are rising up. Just as we supported Azerbaijan against Armenia, so, too, have we supported Libya and acted there. Today, too, we are ready to act. I call on the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to act quickly against Israel," he said. (Read more)

1. California Democrats Lobby to Give Health Insurance to All Illegal Aliens - Brietbart

Newsom introduced as part of his budget plan an expansion of the state’s health insurance program that would allow elderly illegal aliens 60 or older to become eligible for coverage. The cost to taxpayers is estimated at nearly $860 million.

Democrats, though, said Newsom’s plan does not go far enough and that the state should make all illegal alien residents eligible for coverage. California is home to at least three million illegal aliens.

The Los Angeles Times reports:

“Our ultimate goal is everyone,” state Sen. Maria Elena Durazo (D-Los Angeles) said of pushing for more coverage. “I think we are in the best position than we have ever been to make more significant process than we ever have. We are going to keep on pushing to include more uninsured.” (Read more)

- Oh Father, what misplaced compassion that will lead to bondage!  We pray that those who truly want to help illegal aliens with healthcare will establish their own charities and leave this issue of life and death medical care out of the hands of public officials who do not have the compassion of the Lord.  Father, may wiser heads prevail in this matter.

- "When a country is rebellious, it has many rulers, but a ruler with discernment and knowledge maintains order."  (Proverbs 28:2)

2. Joe Biden sparks ethics questions by hiring relatives of senior staffers - Washington Examiner

President Joe Biden promised his children would not have West Wing offices, but his administration has hired a handful of senior aides' offspring.

And while ethics experts agree White House officials do not appear to have broken any federal rules, they are urging Biden to sidestep even the perception of conflicts of interest, particularly as trust in public institutions is at a low.

Just because it is "fairly normal" for a White House to tap partners, as well as parents and children, of top aides, that does not mean the questionable practice should be simply overlooked, according to Scott Amey, general counsel for the nonpartisan Project On Government Oversight.

"It should be addressed to ensure that conflicts of interest don't become equally normalized," he told the Washington Examiner. (Read more)

- Father God, we ask for a federal government that operates above-board and does not practice nepotism nor give kickbacks to supporters. Father we ask that the standard for hiring would include both the highest character traits and the best qualifications for each position. Should a relative fit the bill, may they be treated as all other employees at their level, both salaries and supervision.

- "Abstain from all appearance of evil. (1Thessalonians 5:22)

3.  Andrew Giuliani announces 2022 bid for New York governor - New York Post

Andrew Giuliani has dreams of turning next year’s gubernatorial race into another “Fight of the Century.” The son of former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani will announce Tuesday that he’s officially running for the Republican primary in 2022 — and is confident he can not only knock out veteran GOP competition but then go on to take out scandal-ridden Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

“I’m a politician out of the womb. It’s in my DNA,” Giuliani, 35, told The Post, referring to his childhood as the son of a larger than life Big Apple mayor. “Giuliani vs. Cuomo. Holy smokes. Its Muhammad Ali vs. Joe Frazier. We can sell tickets at Madison Square Garden,” he said, referring to the famous 1971 heavyweight title prizefight.

Giuliani, 35, who served for four years as a White House aide to former President Donald Trump, insisted he is qualified to run — despite having never before run for a public office — and that he has the best chance to topple embattled three-term incumbent Cuomo.(Read more)

- We thank you Lord for sending a strong opponent to the current governor of New York.  Truly, let it be a widely broadcast heavyweight prizefight.  May it be of such import that all forms of media are unable to censor or deceive because truth and revelation will run like a wildfire.  Let Andrew Giuliani be a righteous victor and govern with Your guidance first.  In Jesus name.

- "The living, the living man, he shall praise You, As I do this day; The father shall make known Your truth to the children."  (Isaiah 38:19)

4. Juan Williams Blames Trump Peace Deals For Conflict Between Israel And Hamas - Daily Caller

Juan Williams blamed former President Donald Trump for the renewed hostilities between Israel and Hamas. Williams said Monday that the peace deals negotiated by Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had “left the Palestinians behind” and that had led to additional conflict.

Williams went on to argue that the Israelis controlled the situation because they were superior in terms of military strength, calling the conflict a “David and Goliath situation.” He agreed with his cohosts that Hamas should not be firing rockets, but suggested that because Israel’s counterattacks were more effective than Hamas’ rockets, they were the responsible party. (Read more)

- Father God, we strongly come against this twisted thinking and pray that no one is misled by these felonious arguments.  Father, we pray that You would open the eyes of all Americans, and indeed the world, to what is really happening in Israel right now.  We station extra angels around Israel right now to protect them from the aggression of evil forces.

- "Behold, He who keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep."  (Psalms 121:4)

5.  Senior Islamist commander is 'killed in Israeli airstrike' - Daily Mail

A senior Palestinian militant commander has been killed in an Israeli airstrike, the country's air force has claimed, following a night of heavy bombardment that saw more than a hundred bombs dropped on Gaza.

Hussam Abu Harbid, commander of the Northern Division of Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), was killed in a strike on Monday, according to the Israeli air force as airstrikes continued into Monday afternoon.

Harbid was behind rocket attacks against Israel including several launched on the first day of the most-recent clashes, the Israeli air force said, and had been a commander within PIJ for at least 15 years.

News of Harbid's death - which has not been confirmed by PIJ - was followed by a flurry of rocket fire from inside Gaza at cities in southern Israel, which left at least eight people wounded. (Read more)

- Precious Lord, we pray that the death of this commander will cause the rest of the leadership and the people of this area to reconsider their attacks on Israel.  We pray that they will have a new heart and mind to seek peace with the leaders of Israel and cease their hostile activities.  May all who come against Your will for this land fall out of leadership.

 - "But you will not go out in a hurry, nor will you go as fugitives; for the Lord will go before you, and the God of Israel will be your rear guard."  (Isaiah 52:12)

6. Poll: Overwhelming Majority of Voters Still Aligned with Trump Policies - Brietbart

For example, 89 percent believe in following Trump’s example on economic issues, and 80 percent say we need to follow Trump’s form of leadership. Looking deeper, 88 percent say Trump’s stance on immigration issues needs to be followed, and 73 percent of the respondents said the former president set an example on race issues.

However, when it comes to the left and the media, 69 percent said Trump set the example on how to treat the left, and 77 percent agreed with the way Trump treated the media.

Additionally, a huge majority (67 percent) of Republican voters believe President Joe Biden is not the legitimate winner of the last presidential election. Thirty-four percent of respondents believe Republicans who are disloyal to the base should be punished.

The survey also asked about the Republicans’ strategy for winning reelection in 2022 and 2024. Fifty-three percent said Republicans need to focus on the “message” to find more people to vote Republican. The poll added, Republicans “should tell the public about popular policies and ideas, and will win if more people hear about them.” (Read more)

- Abba, we wait for You to come and make the crooked places straight in our federal government. It seems that the high percentages of people that still favor Pres. Trump’s policies is another indication that Pres. Trump did indeed win the 2020 Presidential Election. Lord, come quickly and restore us; vindicate those who have governed righteously and have been robbed of their victories. Abba, show each of us our part in the restoration, please.

- ‘Who of you is left who saw this house in its former glory? How does it look to you now? Does it not seem to you like nothing? … Be strong, all you people of the land,’ declares the Lord, ‘and work. For I am with you,’ declares the Lord  Almighty. (Haggai 2: 3, 4b)

7.  Biden's COVID warning: Unvaccinated 'will end up paying the price' - Fox News

President Biden highlighted on Monday that for the first time since the coronavirus pandemic swept the nation early last year, cases of COVID-19 "are down in all 50 states." But in a pitch to encourage unvaccinated Americans to get their shots, the president warned that "those who are not vaccinated will end up paying the price."

But he cautioned that "I can’t promise that will continue this way. We know there will be advances and setbacks and we know that may flareups could occur. But if the unvaccinated get vaccinated, they’ll protect themselves and other unvaccinated people around them."

And the president warned that "if they do not, states with low vaccination rates may see those rates, may see this progress, reversed. Ultimately, those who are not vaccinated will end up paying the price. The vaccinated will continue to be protected against severe illnesses, but others may not be if you’re not vaccinated."

- Father, thank You that You are the Author and Finisher of all things.  Whatever "price" we may pay regarding this 'vaccine' situation, we put in Your holy hands.  Joe Biden's words sound like a threat, but we place our trust in You and ask for Your wall of fire to surround this virus and remove its authority for fear.  Let Your light shine, in Jesus name.

- "My flesh and my heart may fail; But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever."  (Psalm 73:26)

8.  Space Force officer's book on Marxism in the military soars to top of bestseller list after he is relieved of command - Washington Examiner

The Space Force lieutenant colonel who was relieved of his command after criticizing “Marxist” ideology and critical race theory training in the military is seeing literary success.

Lt. Col. Matthew Lohmeier’s book, Irresistible Revolution: Marxism's Goal of Conquest & the Unmaking of the American Military, surged to the top of Amazon’s bestseller list on Sunday night, after news that he was under investigation for his comments spread.

The self-published work, which explores the “impact of a neo-Marxist agenda” and the manner in which the “Black Lives Matter movement, anti-racism, postmodernism, [and] political correctness” affect the national security of the United States, also topped the charts at Barnes and Noble.

Lohmeier, who led a unit responsible for detecting missile launches, was relieved of his command by Lt. Gen. Stephen Whiting on Friday “due to loss of trust and confidence in his ability to lead,” the U.S. Space Force said in a statement to the Washington Examiner. (Read more)

- Oh Holy One!  Thank you for shining Your spotlight on the pervasiveness of these ideologies.  We put Lt. Gen. Stephen Whiting under Your authority Lord and ask You to remove him and every other leader throughout our military who are supporters of marxism and critical race theory.  Bless Lt. Col. for his determination to shine a light on the evil being imposed against this sovereign nation.  May truth be the result of his courage to take a stand.  In Jesus name.

- "So shall they fear The name of the Lord from the west, And His glory from the rising of the sun; When the enemy comes in like a flood, The Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him."  (Isaiah 59:19)

9.  House GOP asks Pelosi to end proxy voting – bid to end COVID restrictions, have in-person voting - Just The News

Roughly 30 House Republicans signed a letter Tuesday to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi asking her to end all proxy voting measures and remote committee hearings in a bid to reopen Congress as coronavirus cases decline and the country's vaccination rate increases.

On May 15, 2020, The House passed a resolution to allow proxy voting and remote committee hearings due to the coronavirus. Though Republicans now argue due to the wide access to the vaccine and updated CDC guidelines regarding indoor activity, it is time to reopen Congress.

"It is time we follow the science, lead by example, and fully return to work to serve the American people," the letter states. "While we appreciate that the COVID-19 crisis yielded unprecedented circumstances, there is simply no scientific or public health need to continue entertaining these restrictive practices." (Read more)

- Dear Lord, we ask You to bless the 30 House Republicans for their attempts to restore normalcy at this time. May they find favor with You and with man.

“Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.” (Matthew 18:19)

10. Maricopa County Board Refuses to Meet with AZ Senate to Discuss Election Concerns, Calls for Audit to End - Western Journal

The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors announced on Monday that it would not attend a meeting requested by Arizona Senate President Karen Fann to answer questions raised to date by an audit of the 2020 presidential election.

In fact, the board took it a step further and called for the audit to end. Chairman Jack Sellers declared he would not be answering any more questions regarding November’s election, which the board helped oversee. . . . Sellers and other board members made clear they would not be attending the meeting and issued a letter offering an explanation for the ballot discrepancies.

The board members concluded their letter — also signed by Maricopa County Recorder Stephen Richer and Maricopa County Sheriff Paul Penzon — calling for the audit to cease.

“You, Senate President Fann, are the only one with the power to immediately end it. We implore you to recognize the obvious truth: your ‘auditors’ are in way over their heads,” they wrote.

“It is time to end this. For the good of the Senate, for the good of the Country and for the good of the Democratic institutions that define us as Americans.” (Read more)

- Father God, one statement in this report is true: only the Senate President in the State of Arizona has the authority to end this audit. Lord God, we pray that President Ward will find the strength to "stay the course" until the absolute integrity of this election can be determined. In Your Name, amen and amen.

- "He said to the judges, “Consider what you are doing, for you do not judge for mankind but for the Lord who is with you when you render judgment."                      (2 Chronicles 14:6)

How Media Aids The Terrorist Strategy

The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, May 18, 2020

AP’s And Al Jazeera’s Responses Condemning Israel For The Bombing Rather Than Hamas For Using Media As A Shield Doesn’t Meet The Straight Face Test. Journalists Covering These Terrorists Cannot Reasonably Claim They Didn’t Know Terrorists Were Headquartered In The Same Building.

It is amazing the hateful, bigoted comments directed at Jews these days. It seems as though they are coming from the very people who promote slogans like, “Hate doesn’t live here.” The rhetoric has escalated in recent days as Israel has defended itself from terrorist attacks originating in Gaza. These comments reflect the terrorists’ strategy of interweaving their operations among civilian organizations and the news media so that when retaliation for their attacks commences, innocents are harmed or killed. Then, instead of blaming terrorists,  there is international outrage about how the poor “Palestinians” are being murdered by evil Israelis. The evil actions of the terrorists are then essentially justified.

WHAT IF IT’S TIME – How to pray for Israel

The Isaiah 19 highway is being built up, the Daniel 11:41 places of refuge are being prepared, the Revelations 3:15 lukewarm window is closing and the Proverbs 6:23 Torah of disciple must become our way of life. But instead we’ve practiced necromancy, turned our backs on our G-d - יהוה and worshipped things that are not G-d. So please don’t pray for this war to stop, but only pray Adonai’s will be done and His Kingdom come, because what if it’s His timing? Read More

Officer flagged down by frantic parents saves 9-day-old baby's life who stopped breathing

A routine patrol became a lifesaving mission for a Pennsylvania police officer when she was flagged down by frantic parents. The officer is now being hailed a hero after she ended up saving the life of their 9-day-old baby, who wasn’t breathing.

Officer Kristin Mitrisin claims she was just doing her job that day. “You know, God put me at that place at that time,” she told KDKA. “I’m just thankful that I was there to help them.

While driving along Route 51 in the Pittsburg suburb of Pleasant Hills on April 24, Mitrisin noticed Joe and Jodi Schleicher several cars away, beeping and waving for her attention. Mitrisin, herself a mom of two, pulled over in her pickup. The Schleichers’ baby girl, Olivia, had stopped breathing.

The frantic parents asked Mitrisin for help. Olivia, by then, was blue in her face and nose. The officer took the baby from Joe’s arms and rushed to her pickup truck to perform CPR. Due to her specialized training, she knew how to perform the delicate procedure on an infant, using just two fingers and applying pressure down.

Later, a corrections officer pulled over to assist the rescue effort with a defibrillator, but luckily, it wasn’t needed. The baby took a breath, then another long breath, which was followed by a few shallow breaths, and finally, she began to cry.

Olivia’s wails, said Mitrisin, were “the best sound to hear.”

Having saved her life, Mitrisin rushed Olivia directly to nearby AHN Brentwood Neighborhood Hospital. Olivia was diagnosed with a heart condition, but Jodi told KDKA she believes her daughter wouldn’t be alive if it weren’t for Mitrisin.

Olivia had her first heart surgery on April 29, and will likely need more. A family friend has set up a GoFundMe page to help cover mounting medical bills, raising almost $25,000 to date. Mom, Dad, and baby have a long road ahead for Olivia’s recovery, they said in a post. (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

Please pray for baby Olivia's healing. (CHPP)

Whispering Hope

To listen to this classic hymn, CLICK HERE

Words and Music: Septimus Winner

ScriptureHope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast. Hebrews 6:19

Lyrics:
Soft as the voice of an angel,
Breathing a lesson unheard,
Hope with a gentle persuasion
Whispers her comforting word:
Wait till the darkness is over,
Wait till the tempest is done,
Hope for the sunshine tomorrow,
After the shower is gone.

Refrain
Whispering hope, oh how welcome thy voice,
Making my heart in its sorrow rejoice.

If, in the dusk of the twilight,
Dim be the region afar,
Will not the deepening darkness
Brighten the glimmering star?
Then when the night is upon us,
Why should the heart sink away?
When the dark midnight is over,
Watch for the breaking of day.

Refrain

Hope, as an anchor so steadfast,
Rends the dark veil for the soul,
Whither the Master has entered,
Robbing the grave of its goal.
Come then, O come, glad fruition,
Come to my sad weary heart;
Come, O Thou blest hope of glory,
Never, O never depart.

Refrain
