Russia says it fired warning shots, bombs to chase U.K. ship out of its waters in Black Sea
|
|
A military ship and fighter jet fired warning shots at a British Royal Navy destroyer after it entered Russian waters in the Black Sea, Russia’s defense ministry said in a statement Wednesday.
The HMS Defender was “warned in advance that weapons would be used” if it crossed Russia’s border, the statement said. “It disregarded the warning,” it added.
A border patrol ship “fired warning shots,” shortly after midday local time (7 a.m. ET), the statement said, adding that an Su-24M fighter jet “performed a warning bombing,” on the British ship’s course, dropping four high explosive fragmentation bombs.
The incident took place in the northwestern Black Sea.
However, Ben Wallace, Britain's defense minister, said in a statement that the HMS Defender was carrying out a "routine transit" from the Ukrainian city of Odessa toward Georgia through an "internationally recognized traffic separation corridor."
Making no mention of warning shots, he said that the ship had "exited that corridor safely."

1. Gaza Terrorist Groups Call on Palestinians to ‘Prepare for Escalation’ - United With Israel
Palestinian terrorist organizations in Gaza issued a joint statement on Tuesday calling on Egyptian and international mediators to pressure Israel to “lift the blockade on Gaza, finalize the rehabilitation matter, and stop the provocations in Jerusalem, Sheikh Jarrah and Silwan.”
The terrorist groups also called on Palestinians in Judea and Samaria, Jerusalem and within the Green Line to “prepare for a security escalation.”
“The resistance won’t stand idly by in the face of the [Israeli] procrastination. We demand that the mediators pressure Israel to move more quickly to lift the siege on Gaza and finalize the matter of Gaza’s reconstruction,” the statement said.
Earlier on Tuesday, sources told the Palestinian newspaper Al-Quds that no progress had been made on Gaza and that “Israel continues to drag its feet while displaying a lack of seriousness” in terms of reaching a long-term ceasefire agreement. (Read more)

2. Ze'ev Elkin's surprising offer to Mansour Abbas - Israel National News
Housing and Construction Minister Ze'ev Elkin has offered United Arab List chairman Mansour Abbas the position of deputy minister in his ministry in exchange for supporting the Family Reunification Law. According to the report by Channel12 News, the UAL is debating whether to accept the offer.
"On the one hand, this is an incredible opportunity to influence core issues, on the other hand, Ra'am will have to take responsibility for the policy," the report said.
Both sides acknowledged the proposal but stated that it has nothing to do with the Family Reunification Law and the need to appease the UAL ahead of next week's vote on the law.
The Likud responded, "Why does the current prime minister need another deputy minister in Mansour Abbas? Bennett continues to sell the elimination of the state in order to continue serving as prime minister with six seats." (Read more)

3. Judea and Samaria construction plans approved - Israel National News
The Civil Administration Settlement Subcommittee approved building plans in Judea and Samaria, Ynet reported. These are the first such plans approved by the Bennett-Lapid government.
Among other things, a school for children with special needs was approved in Elkana, a mall in Mishor Adumim and seminaries and synagogues in the localities of Karnei Shomron and Kfar Adumim.
In addition, a small number of housing units were also approved in Yitzhar and other places. The report states that the plans were approved by is a "small" committee, which usually approves individual plans on a small scale. A total of 31 plans were approved in various phases. (Read more)

4. Blinken to meet Israel’s new foreign minister in Rome -World Israel News
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken will meet with Israel’s new Foreign Minister Yair Lapid in Italy over the weekend, a senior State Department official and Israel’s foreign ministry said on Wednesday.
They said the meeting would take place on Sunday in Rome but neither side offered any details about the agenda, which is likely to focus on Israel’s concerns about a possible U.S. return to the Iran nuclear deal and Israel’s security more broadly.
It will be their first meeting since Lapid assumed his position after longtime Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was ousted. The discussion comes as Israel’s new government led by Prime Minister Naftali Bennett seeks to mend relations with U.S. President Joe Biden’s administration. (Read more)

5. Israel delays reopening of borders to vaccinated tourists until August -Times of Israel
The government on Wednesday voted to postpone next week’s planned reopening of Israel’s borders to vaccinated tourists amid concerns over COVID contagion from abroad. It also approved the renewed formation of a so-called coronavirus cabinet to oversee its response to an upsurge in COVID cases.
The moves came as Israel sees a jump in daily coronavirus cases, which health officials have largely attributed to the more infectious Delta variant brought from abroad by infected travelers.
As part of efforts to contain the rise, the government decided to delay plans to allow vaccinated tourists into the country from July 1 until August, a statement from Prime Minister Naftali Bennett’s office said. (Read more)

1. U.S. seizes websites used by Iranian Islamic Radio and Television Union and a foreign terrorist org - Just The News
The U.S. on Tuesday seized nearly three dozen websites utilized by the Iranian Islamic Radio and Television Union (IRTVU) as well as three sites operated by the State Department-designated foreign terrorist organization Kata’ib Hizballah (KH)
Both of the entities had previously been designated as Specially Designated Nationals by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), which means that they were barred from securing services, including website and domain services, in America without an OFAC license, according to the Justice Department.
On Oct. 22, 2020, the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) designated IRTVU as a Specially Designated National (SDN) for being owned or controlled by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Quds Force (IRGC)," the Department of Justice noted. "According to OFAC, the designation of IRTVU as an SDN was in response to the Iranian regime targeting the United States' electoral process with brazen attempts to sow discord among the voting populace by spreading disinformation online and executing malign influence operations aimed at misleading U.S. (Read more)

2. Indiana University students compare COVID vaccine mandate to Tuskegee experiment in lawsuit - Just The News
Indiana University is ignoring the Constitution, CDC recommendations, state and local law, and “modern medical ethics” by forcing students, faculty and staff to get a COVID-19 vaccine as a condition of remaining enrolled or employed, a new lawsuit by several students claims.
It compares the mandate to the U.S. government's Tuskegee study that intentionally withheld treatment from African Americans unknowingly infected with syphilis: Both lack "voluntary and informed consent."
The students also object to the strict mitigation measures required for those who have received medical or religious exemptions, including continued wearing of face masks and twice-weekly testing for the novel coronavirus. (Read more)

3. The honeymoon is over for Biden as approval numbers drop, disapproval numbers spike - Just The News
Joe Biden’s approval numbers have been steadily declining of late — and some pollsters see worse to come for the president. It's not a good sign for Joe Biden," said Republican pollster Jim McLaughlin of McLaughlin & Associates.
"What we're seeing right now are approval numbers in the low 50s ... and the intensity level is only about 32% of people say they strongly approve of the job he is doing."
According to the firm's May survey, Biden's approval numbers are trending down. Perhaps more importantly, his disapproval numbers are rising sharply.
In the Real Clear Politics average, Biden's approval rating has drifted down to 52.3% as of June 22, which equals his previous low as president. Meanwhile, his current disapproval average has spiked to 43.6%, just shy of his previous high, and up from 36% at the close of his first week in the White House. (Read more)

4. DeSantis signs education reform bills, vows Florida students will be taught communism is evil - Just The News
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis vowed to ensure his state’s students will be taught that communism is evil, as he signed several education reform bills that expand civics lessons and ban “intellectually oppressive” environments at state universities often deemed unfriendly to conservatives. DeSantis told a news conference Tuesday that students will be taught that communist and oppressive regimes are evil.
“Why would somebody flee across shark infested waters, say leaving from Cuba, to come to southern Florida? Why would somebody leave a place like Vietnam? Why would people leave these countries and risk their life to be able to come here? DeSantis said. ”It’s important that students understand that.”

5. Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner distance themselves from the former President and his constant complaints - CNN
With each passing day away from Washington, former President Donald Trump's grievances continue unabated. And those complaints appear to be driving away two of the people who were closest to him during his White House tenure: his daughter Ivanka Trump and son-in-law, Jared Kushner.
Sometimes the former President complains for several hours about the "stolen" 2020 election. Other times, his frustrations emerge in fits and starts -- more likely when he is discussing his hopeful return to national politics. And while he often has a rotating audience of cheering listeners, the gap between Trump and his daughter and son-in-law grows wider by the week, according to 12 former Trump White House officials, former administration officials, family friends, acquaintances and members of Trump's team who spoke with CNN about changes to the former President's current inner circle.
A large part of the reason for the separation is Trump's constant harping on the past and his inability to move on. (Read more)

6. Trump responds to news Kamala Harris is going to the border - DML News
Former President Donald Trump released a statement on Wednesday afternoon, shortly after the news broke that Kamala Harris is finally going to visit the southern border.
It has been 91 days since Joe Biden appointed Harris to oversee the border crisis, and Republicans have slammed her for refusing to travel to the border.
Last week, on June 15, Trump released a statement announcing that he has accepted an invitation from Texas Governor Greg Abbott to visit the border on Wednesday June 30.
Suddenly, the news was released on Wednesday that Harris, along with Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, will be visiting El Paso this week, on Friday – just five days before Trump’s planned trip.
After months of ignoring the crisis at the Southern Border, it is great that we got Kamala Harris to finally go and see the tremendous destruction and death that they’ve created – a direct result of Biden ending my very tough but fair Border policies.

7. ICE Flies Migrants from Border Area Air Force Base to U.S. Interior - Brietbart
The source, speaking on the condition of anonymity, says the flights transport mostly Haitian and Venezuelan migrants from Laughlin Air Force Base to areas around the Seattle and New Orleans ICE Field Offices. The migrants, who are not eligible for removal under the CDC’s Title 42 Emergency COVID-19 authority, are being processed for asylum and will likely be released once credible fear interviews take place.
The flights were not authorized by the Air Force until very recently. Earlier this month, Congressman Tony Gonzales (R-TX) urged Acting Secretary of the Air Force Jennifer Miller to authorize ICE’s use of the base to alleviate strains on local resources.
Border Patrol in Del Rio sees large groups of Haitians and Venezuelans illegally enter the city almost daily. The sector currently leads the nation in the apprehension of these cohorts. The source within ICE says the flights help to relieve local community strains and also take the migrant releases further from the public eye at the border. (Read more)

8. Washington high school yearbooks feature ‘ACAB’ sign, art of police assault - New York Post
A pair of Washington state high school yearbooks featured pro-Black Lives Matter, anti-police photos and artwork — with one even including information on how to donate to the controversial movement.
At Woodinville High School in the Seattle suburbs, the yearbook featured an image of seven students attending a Black Lives Matter protest and carrying signs with messages like: “Use your white privilege to end white privilege” and “Why is ending racism so controversial?”.
One of the students posed for the photo while holding a sign bearing the letters “ACAB”. The acronym for “All Cops Are Bastards” has become a rallying cry among supporters of the “Defund the Police” movement, as well as supporters of the radical far-left group Antifa.
According to Seattle talk show host Jason Rantz, who first reported on the yearbooks, the photo was not only published in the keepsake, but was featured in a video collage at the school’s graduation ceremony last week.
Northshore School District spokesperson Lisa Youngblood Hall claimed to Rantz that staffers responsible for putting the yearbook together did not understand what the phrase “ACAB” meant. (Read more)

9. Michigan county requesting state audit of 2020 election results - Washington Examiner
A county in northern Michigan requested the state government to conduct an audit of its 2020 election results.
The GOP-controlled Cheboygan County Board of Commissioners voted 4-3 on Tuesday to send a letter requesting a recount and review of whether an "unauthorized computer" manipulated the tallies, according to the Detroit News.
The letter will be sent to Jonathan Brater, the state elections director named to the job in 2019 by Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson. A representative for Benson told the Washington Examiner that once her office will review the letter when it's received, and the state will "respond to the commission directly." (Read more)

10. Top Democrat Exposes Left's Real Agenda, Says America 'Cannot Go Back to Pre-Pandemic Normal' - Western Journal
If there was any remaining doubt that Democrats intend to use the COVID-19 pandemic to advocate for more government intervention, it was put to rest on Wednesday.
According to the Washington Examiner, House Democratic Caucus Chair Hakeem Jeffries said the only logical way for America to proceed from this pandemic is to shell out massive amounts of money. “The House Democratic Caucus, the speaker and others have been clear that we believe a meaningful investment in the caring economy in long-term care and home care and child care and caring for our seniors in health care is important for the American people emerging from a deadly pandemic,” the New York Democrat said. Jeffries was referring to President Joe Biden’s massive infrastructure package, which delegates large amounts of money to child care and free community college.
Congressional Republicans have balked at Biden’s $1.8 trillion “American Families Plan” due to its unnecessarily high spending. As a result, Democrats have raised the possibility of using budget reconciliation to pass their infrastructure priorities without any Republican support. Last week, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said Democrats have two potential tracks for their infrastructure proposals, Fox News reported. “One track is bipartisan and the second track pulls in other elements of Biden’s American Jobs Plan and American Families Plan, which will be considered even if it doesn’t have bipartisan support,” Schumer said. “Both are moving forward.”
This is not a “bipartisan” agreement. Instead, it is Democrats saving face by passing a so-called compromise, then turning right around and passing all the radical components on their own. (Read more)

11. Bipartisan group of senators to brief Biden on infrastructure ‘framework’ after potential breakthrough in talks - MSN.com
A bipartisan group of senators tentatively reached an agreement with White House officials Wednesday on hundreds of billions of dollars in new spending for the nation’s infrastructure system, giving a significant boost toward one of President Biden’s biggest domestic policy ambitions.
Multiple senators leaving an evening negotiating session at the Capitol said the group — which included five Democrats, five Republicans and top White House officials — had reached a framework of a deal. They said senators would go to the White House on Thursday to brief Biden personally on the details.
“There’s a framework of agreement on a bipartisan infrastructure package,” Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) said, exiting the meeting. “There’s still details to be worked out.” (Read more)

12. Hyde Amendment Has Saved 2 Million Unborn Lives, Attorneys General Tell Congress - Christian Headlines
A coalition of 22 attorneys general signed a letter to House and Senate leaders this week urging them to keep the Hyde Amendment in the next budget and thus oppose taxpayer-funded abortion.
The letter was sent to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.
President Biden supported the Hyde Amendment for most of his political career before coming under pressure during the presidential campaign and opposing it.
"Unborn life might be nothing more than a matter of politics for the administration, but it is something quite different for us: the policy in question is one of life or death," the letter says. "Studies of the Hyde Amendment have found that it has saved the lives of millions of unborn children – saving 2.13 million lives in its first forty years alone, and saving over 60,000 lives per year today."
The amendment, which dates back to the 1970s, must be reauthorized annually. The current version allows for exceptions for rape, incest and to save the mother's life.
The letter included the signatures of the attorneys general of Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and West Virginia. (Read more)

13. Oath Keeper pleads guilty to conspiracy in U.S. Capitol attack - Reuters
A member of the right-wing Oath Keepers militia group pleaded guilty on Wednesday to criminal charges including conspiracy in the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol by supporters of then-President Donald Trump.
The man, Graydon Young, is one of 14 members of the Oath Keepers group charged with taking part in the assault on Congress, which left five people dead, including a Capitol Police officer.
Young, a 54-year-old resident of Englewood, Florida, told U.S. District Judge Amit Mehta he was pleading guilty to one charge of conspiracy and one of obstructing an official proceeding. Young is the brother of Laura Steele, 52, of Thomasville, North Carolina, who also faces charges in the case.
He agreed to cooperate with investigators as part of his plea deal. Questioned by the judge about the extent of his possible cooperation, Young agreed to give grand jury testimony and to be interviewed by law enforcement investigators without his lawyers being present.
The judge did not impose a sentence at Wednesday's hearing and allowed Young to remain on bail pending a further hearing later this summer. (Read more)

Citizens Against Political Persecution to Hold Protest for January 6 Prisoners in New York
|
|
|
|
Citizens Against Political Persecution (CAPP) will be holding a protest to petition the Federal Government on behalf of the January 6th detainees held in solitary confinement in Washington D.C.
The peaceful protest against political persecution will take place in Foley Square in Manhattan, New York on June 27th, 2021 at 12 PM.
According to a press release from the organization, speakers at the rally will include John Pierce, attorney for January 6th defendants; Cara Castronuova, champion boxer and founder of Citizen’s Against Political Persecution; Matt Breynard, Executive Director of Look Ahead America; Professor Mark Crispin Miller, New York University (Professor of Media Studies); and “other distinguished surprise guests to be announced.”
“This event is to raise awareness so the general public understands what is going on,” said CAPP co founder Cara Castronuova. “What the Justice Department is doing to the January 6th protesters is political persecution and unconstitutional. Every American, regardless of their political affiliation, should care. The government can and will turn their focus and persecute any other group that disagrees with or challenges them. It is absolutely terrifying..”
CAPP has stated that they believe the solitary confinement and torture the defendants are enduring is a violation of the rules for prisoners laid out in the Geneva Conventions.
Christopher Worrell (a detainee with Stage 3 cancer that never entered the Capitol building) is currently being held without bail and being blocked from receiving life-saving cancer treatments.
“I need my cancer doctor to stay alive,” said Worrell. “The United States Government has betrayed me.”

Stupidocrisy: IRS Describing Good As Evil

Let’s say that you are an active Christian and God has called you to educate and inform other Christians. Let’s say that someone described you by saying “you educate believers on national issues that are central to their belief in the Bible as the inerrant Word of God. Specifically, you educate Christians on what the bible says in areas where they can be instrumental including the areas of sanctity of life, the definition of marriage, biblical justice, freedom of speech, defense, and borders and immigration, US and Israel relations.” Wouldn’t that be a wonderful complement or recognition of your work? Most of us would say that if you conducted yourself that way, it would be a great example to all. But not the IRS.
Stephen A Martin is Director of IRS’s Exempt Organizations Rulings and Agreements and the aforementioned is quoting the very words he wrote in his letter denying Christians Engaged their 501(c)(3) designation. Now, I’m not a fan of such designations by the government because the Constitution’s First Amendment prohibits government intervention in the free exercise of religion, so why give the government a nose under the tent, so to speak? But think about what Mr. Martin wrote. He described what most reasonable people would agree are good things to know about the Bible and how they apply to our lives today and good citizenship, but he did so in denying an organization’s legitimacy as a mission. First Amendment experts warn of bill’s harmful effects on free speech
Washington, DC – Sweeping legislation that would rewrite federal laws governing political speech and association, elections, and ethics suffered a major setback this evening as a vote to advance the bill, a near-identical variant of S. 1, failed in the Senate. The Institute for Free Speech released the following statement in response to the vote:
“A defeat for S. 1 is a victory for free speech. We can’t improve democracy by restricting First Amendment rights. We certainly can’t pretend doing so is ‘For the People,’” said Institute for Free Speech President David Keating.

1st hurricane of season may develop south of Mexico

Just a few days after Tropical Storm Dolores made landfall on Mexico's Pacific coast, a new tropical threat is building just to the southeast of where Dolores was first detected.
The 2021 East Pacific hurricane season has been close to normal so far in terms of activity level since it began on May 15. AccuWeather forecasters are predicting what could become the fifth tropical system of the season will take shape just offshore of Mexico by next week.
Meteorologists anticipate the system to form in a similar area to where Dolores formed and even impact some of the same locations Dolores inundated with heavy rain.
"An area of low pressure is expected to develop Thursday or Friday and move along or just off the southern coast of Mexico through the weekend," Miller said. Read More

2 Nevada Counties Go 'Constitutional': 'People of These Counties and Elected Officials Have Had It up to Here with Unconstitutional Dictates and Mandates'

Elected commissioners in two Nevada counties declared that the Bill of Rights will be upheld in their jurisdictions, even if it means standing against unconstitutional acts by state and federal authorities.
According to a resolution approved in Elko County on June 2, abuse of the constitutionally protected rights of citizens in Elko and Lander counties will be “dealt with as criminal activity.” Officials in Lander County approved a similar effort.
Under the leadership of constitutionally minded sheriffs and elected commissioners, the two rural counties in Nevada have decided to become “constitutional counties,” where the rights of citizens will be protected from all attacks.
That means local authorities intend to uphold the entire Bill of Rights in those jurisdictions, and that even federal and state officials must comply with the U.S. Constitution when there, they said.
As part of the effort to become a constitutional county, the two county governments also became the first in the country to officially join the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association (CSPOA).
The national organization, made up of sheriffs and other law enforcement officials dedicated to upholding their oaths of office to the U.S. Constitution and their state constitutions, has been training sheriffs about their constitutional role for years.
Countless law enforcement officers from across America are individual members. But before 2021, no county government had ever requested to join as a county, and CSPOA didn’t even have that available as a membership option.
