"Standing United Together . . . Under the Cross of Christ"
TODAY'S TOP STORY
Georgia secretary of state removes 100,000 'outdated' voter files
Georgia's secretary of state is poised to remove more than 100,000 "outdated" names from the state's voter registration rolls unless those on the list take immediate action. Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger released the full list of people who could be affected by the registration update on Friday. "Making sure Georgia's voter rolls are up to date is key to ensuring the integrity of our elections," the Republican said in a statement. "There is no legitimate reason to keep ineligible voters on the rolls."

Some critics, such as Gerald Griggs with the Atlanta NAACP, described the move as a voter purge. Griggs said thousands of voters were improperly removed from the 2019 list. However, state officials noted the removals are required by law and that the maintenance occurs every two years.Raffensperger's office also removed 18,486 voter files of dead individuals based on information obtained from Georgia’s Office of Vital Records and the Electronic Registration Information Center.

"These people don’t live in Georgia anymore. Then, you have 18,000 people who passed. So, they are not going to be voting anymore. You need to have accurate voter rolls and proper list maintenance. It also helps your county election directors," Raffensperger told WSB-TV 2.

The move to update the state's voter registration listing follows the recently passed Republican-backed voting law meant to secure election integrity and make it more difficult for any cheating to occur. Republicans in the state saw the legislation as necessary to improve voter confidence and to restore security in elections despite former President Donald Trump's Justice Department claiming that the 2020 election was the most secure in U.S. history. (Washington Examiner) Read more.

- Thank you Father, for showing the effectiveness of pressure and prayer to do the right thing.  We know this Secretary of State was loathe to address the inaccurate voter rolls, however, he is obliged to follow the law or face the consequences.  We pray for the outcome to be transparent justice in Georgia, in Jesus name.  Amen.

"'But go and learn what this means:  'I desire mercy and not sacrifice.'  For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.'"  (Matthew 9:13)

FOCUS ON ISRAEL

1. ‘Prepare for Iran nuclear facility strike,’ says Israeli official after election of ‘Butcher of Tehran’ - World Israel News

Israeli senior military and intelligence officials are gearing up for a future strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities, after news broke that Ebrahim Raisi was elected president of the Islamic Republic.

Raisi is a hardcore Islamist who has been named by Amnesty International as a perpetrator of war crimes.

Channel 12 News reported that Raisi is in favor of a return to the 2015 nuclear deal in exchange for relief of sanctions that have crippled Iran’s economy.

But as talks with the U.S. enter yet another round of talks with no set end in sight, Israel is worried that Iran will continue stockpiling and enriching uranium until the ink on a deal is dry. (Read more)

2. Bennett to Hamas: Israel's patience has run out - YNET News

Prime Minister Naftali Bennett warned Hamas on Sunday that Israel's patience "has run out," and that it will not tolerate "any more violence" of any kind from the Gaza-based terror group, a month after the end of the latest round of fighting between the two sides.
"Residents of Gaza border communities are not second-class citizens, they deserve to live in peace and security," the prime minister said referring to the rocket-battered towns, moshavim and kibbutzim close to the Hamas-run Strip that have borne the brunt of attacks from across the frontier.
"Our enemies must understand the rules, we will not tolerate violence, we will not tolerate sporadic fire and we will not tolerate renegades," Bennett told a state ceremony on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem to commemorate the fallen soldiers of the 2014 Gaza war.

Addressing the residents of the Palestinian enclave, Bennett said that Israel "does not have any intention to harm those who have not risen against us in violence, and those who are held captive by a ruthless and violent terror organization." (Read more)

3. Clashes between Jews, Palestinians in Sheikh Jarrah in Jerusalem - Jerusalem Post

Jewish Israelis and Palestinians clashed in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of east Jerusalem on Saturday night, amid continued tensions surrounding the planned eviction of dozens of Palestinian families from the neighborhood.
Palestinian media reported that Israelis attacked the homes of Arab residents in the neighborhood, sparking clashes between the two sides, although video footage published by Otzma Yehudit showed Jewish residents sitting around a table as Palestinians threw chairs at them and other objects at them before the Jewish residents threw the chairs back.

According to Palestinian reports, Israeli security forces fired stun grenades and tear gas at Arab residents who clashed with the Jewish residents.

Palestinian residents of the neighborhood called for other Palestinian residents of Jerusalem to come to Sheikh Jarrah in order to clash with Jewish Israelis. (Read more)

4. Erdogan is infiltrating Europe via political parties - Israel National News

Much has been written about how Turkey uses mosques, imams and associations to influence religious and cultural life in Europe. Not enough has been written on Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's plan to support emerging political parties in Europe.

Bulgaria. The Turkish President has just received a delegation from the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF), an important party in Bulgaria. This occurred on Sunday, June 6th. Erdogan was accompanied by the Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and by representatives of his party. The MRF won 20 percent of the votes in the European elections and 10 percent in the national ones.

Sweden. In August 2019, Mikail Yüksel, a Swedish politician of Turkish origin, founded a new party called "Nyans". Accused of connections with the Gray Wolves, of which his father is a member, and coalition partner of Erdogan's AKP, today Yüksel wants to enter parliament in Stockholm. In addition to the links with Islamists already known in Sweden, such as the former Minister for Construction Mehmet Kaplan and the activist Yasri Khan (former Green Party), the Nyans platform wants to see to it that "Islamophobia" is punished.

"We want Islamophobia to be declared a crime, we want Muslims to be recognized as a minority in the constitution," Yüksel told the Turkish pro-government newspaper Daily Sabah. Nyans has a very good chance of gaining political representation and will start with participation in the elections of 2022. (Read more)

5. Turkey activates military intervention pact with Palestinians - DEBKA

Ankara has acted to invoke the 2018 security pact that President Tayyip Erdogan signed with Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas – on the same lines as Turkey’s intervention in the Libyan conflict. This step, taken on the quiet, was approved by the National Security Council in Ankara last Wednesday, June 9 and published in Turkey’s Official Gazette the next day.

The accord provides for Turkey’s “Gendarmerie and Coast Guard Academy” to train Palestinian security forces: “Short- and long-term projects would be implemented to increase the capabilities of Palestinian law enforcement forces by providing training, consultation and technical assistance.” Also included is an intelligence-sharing clause between Turkey and the Palestinian Authority.

The accord goes on to cover another highly sensitive issue: It attaches the Palestinians to the internationally condemned Turkish-Libyan agreement which aimed to illicitly partition eastern Mediterranean waters between the two signatories. This deal was designed as a grab by Ankara and Tripoli of full control of those waters and their energy deposits.  Making the Palestinians partners of this “accord” aimed at buttressing their claim to the coastal waters from the Gaza Strip and further north with a view to ousting Israel from its offshore gas and oil projects. 1. Hardliner Raisi wins Iran presidency in landslide, amid record-low voter turnout - The Times of Israel

Iran’s hardline judiciary chief won the country’s presidential election in a landslide victory Saturday, propelling the supreme leader’s protégé into Tehran’s highest civilian position in a vote that appeared to see the lowest turnout in the Islamic Republic’s history. Ebrahim Raisi was elected president with 61.95 percent of the vote, according to figures released by Interior Minister Aboldreza Rahmani Fazli. Voter turnout was 48.8 percent of the more than 59 million eligible voters in Friday’s election, he said, a record low for a presidential election in the Islamic republic.

Raisi will be the first serving Iranian president sanctioned by the US government even before entering office, over his involvement in the mass execution of political prisoners in 1988, as well as his time as the head of Iran’s internationally criticized judiciary — one of the world’s top executioners.

It also would put hardliners firmly in control across the Iranian government as negotiations in Vienna continue to try to save a tattered deal meant to limit Iran’s nuclear program at a time when Tehran is enriching uranium at its highest levels ever, though still short of weapons-grade levels.

For his part, Khamenei warned of “foreign plots” seeking to depress turnout in a speech Wednesday. A flyer handed out Wednesday on the streets of Tehran by hard-liners echoed that and bore the image of Revolutionary Guard Gen. Qassem Soleimani, who was killed in a US drone strike in 2020. A polling station was set up by Soleimani’s grave on Friday.

“If we do not vote: Sanctions will be heavier, the US and Israel will be encouraged to attack Iran,” the leaflet warned. “Iran will be under the shadow of a Syrian-style civil war and the ground will be ready for the assassination of scientists and important figures.” (Read more)

> > > See also: Bennett: Hardliner Raisi’s election a sign for world powers to ‘wake up’ on Iran - Times of Israel

Prime Minister Naftali Bennett on Sunday opened the first cabinet meeting of his new government with a condemnation of the newly elected Iranian president. He said Iran’s choice was a sign for world powers to “wake up” before returning to a nuclear agreement with Tehran.

Iran’s hardline judiciary chief, Ebrahim Raisi, was elected Saturday with 62 percent of the vote amid a historically low voter turnout and as all major competitors were disqualified or pulled out.

He is sanctioned by the US in part over his involvement in the mass execution of thousands of political prisoners in 1988, at the end of the Iran-Iraq war. Raisi has not commented specifically on the event. (Read more)

- Almighty God, stretch out Your hand against Raisi and put a wall of fire around him so that his words be of no effect.  Overrule his wickedness by Your constraining righteousness.  We pray angels be assigned over Iran to block all Raisi's evil plans against Israel.  Protect Israel from all their enemies.  In the Name of Jesus we pray.

-"For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness."  (Romans 1:18)

2.  US to pull Patriot batteries from key MidEast countries -  The Jerusalem Post

The US is moving up to eight Patriot air defense batteries from key countries in the Middle East, according to a Wall Street Journal report on Friday. The report calls it a “major realignment” of the US military footprint, potentially affecting Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Jordan, key US partners in the region.

This means it also could affect Israel. Air defense batteries are key to protecting countries against Iranian missiles and other threats. Removing them and their radar have far-reaching ramifications, if the reports are accurate.

According to the WSJ report, administration officials said “the Biden administration is sharply reducing the number of US anti-missile systems in the Middle East in a major realignment of its military footprint there as it focuses the armed services on challenges from China and Russia.” This will include eight Patriot anti-missile batteries. “Another anti-missile system known as a Terminal High Altitude Area Defense, or THAAD system, is being withdrawn from Saudi Arabia, and jet fighter squadrons assigned to the region are being reduced,” those officials said.

This comes at a time of increasing attacks by Iranian proxies in Iraq against American forces. The US had deployed Patriots to Iraq alongside C-RAM and other systems to protect US forces in 2020. Now, new drone threats are emerging in Iraq. Iranian-backed Houthis  also use drones and missiles to attack Saudi Arabia, and Iran attacked the kingdom in September 2019 with drones and cruise missiles. (Read more)

- Father, we are concerned with this major realignment and ask for many counselors that hear from You to speak wisdom to the Biden Administration against this move, and we pray the Administration will listen to wise council!

- "Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end." (Proverbs 19:20-21)

3. Pence taunted as 'traitor' during speech at Florida conservative conference - Washington Examiner

Former Vice President Mike Pence was met with jeers and called a "traitor" when he took the stage at the Orlando, Florida, Faith and Freedom Coalition conference on Friday. "It is great to be back with so many patriots dedicated to faith and freedom and the road to the majority," Pence said as he took the stage.

Moments later, a woman could be heard shouting "traitor," while others yelled "boo" as the crowd erupted during his remarks.  One woman who shouted was escorted off the premises, according to NBC News political correspondent Ali Vitali.

Pence angered former President Donald Trump's base when he refused to challenge the results of the November election and attended the Capitol on Jan. 6 to oversee the tabulation of electoral votes that would hand Joe Biden his victory. The tabulation was subsequently disrupted and delayed by the Capitol riot.

Since the events of Jan. 6, Pence has spoken publicly about his disagreement with the former president's portrayal of the incident.  “You know, President Trump and I have spoken many times since we left office,” Pence said after the breach. “And I don’t know if we’ll ever see eye to eye on that day.” (Read more)

- Father, only You know the heart of Mike Pence and the situation with challenging the results of the election! We know many were upset with him over this. We speak peace and a calm spirit over this situation and pray You give strategy to take back the Presidency, Senate, and House with Godly leaders!

- "Strategic planning is the key to warfare; to win, you need a lot of good counsel."
(Proverbs 24:6-16)

4.  Huawei loses court appeal as FCC increases pressure on 'national security threat' - Washington Examiner

Huawei’s court challenge to a Federal Communications Commission order that declared it to be a national security threat and denied it access to federal funding was rejected as the FCC ramps up pressure on the company and seeks to deny all future authorizations to it and similar businesses with links to the Chinese Communist Party.

The FCC initially designated Huawei and ZTE as national security threats last summer, banning the two companies from accessing U.S. government subsidies to build communication infrastructure. The commission said government subsidies from its $8.3 billion annual Universal Service Fund “may no longer be used to purchase, obtain, maintain, improve, modify, or otherwise support any equipment or services produced or provided by” Huawei. The Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau concluded that Huawei was a national security threat. After Huawei sought a review of the designation, the FCC again affirmed in December that the company “poses a threat to the security and integrity of our nation’s communications networks.”

Ajit Pai, the former Republican chairman of the FCC, celebrated the ruling on Friday, saying, “In 2019, the FCC took decisive action to secure the communications supply chain, barring companies from using FCC subsidies to buy equipment from entities deemed national security threats. Pleased 5th Circuit today rejected #Huawei’s appeal of our decision.”

The appeals court loss for Huawei came one day after the FCC proposed a new rule that would crackdown on the Chinese telecom even further, with the commission saying the proposal would “would prohibit all future authorizations for communications equipment deemed to pose an unacceptable risk to national security.” (Read more)

- Father, thank You for this court ruling to deny this Chinese company to access federal funding! Protect us from those who will be a threat to our national security.

- "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6)

5.  Bidens top spy lawyer pick wont promise not to work for China or Huawei in future - Washington Examiner

Senate Republicans hammered a former Obama National Security Council staffer nominated to be the intelligence community’s top lawyer over his private sector work for the Chinese government and Huawei, following his 12-4 vote passage through the Senate Intelligence Committee.

Christopher Fonzone, a Harvard Law School graduate who spent 2013 through the end of Barack Obama’s presidency as an NSC legal adviser, was picked by President Joe Biden in March to serve as the general counsel for Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines, who oversees the nation’s 18 spy agencies. After his national security work in the Obama administration, Fonzone took a gig as a partner at the global Sidley Austin law firm, where he did what he called limited work in 2018 for Huawei and China’s Ministry of Commerce.

Fonzone has declined to promise not to work for Chinese Communist Party-linked firms in the future.

Republican Sens. Ben Sasse of Nebraska, Marco Rubio of Florida, and Tom Cotton of Arkansas all grilled him last week and voted against him Wednesday. “You can't work for Huawei and then work for the Director of National Intelligence. After Mr. Fonzone left President Obama's National Security Council, he did legal work for Huawei. He knew exactly who Huawei is and he knew that he didn't have to take their money,” Sasse said in a statement Wednesday. “In fact, today he told the committee that he had declined to work on certain cases for ethical reasons — but he didn't decline Huawei and I'm not sure how on earth it's ethical to work for a company that's a key player in the Chinese Communist Party's genocide of the Uyghurs. He says that he was just helping them understand American regulations, but he knows full well that the Chinese Communist Party isn't interested in following the law — they're interested in skirting the law.”  Sasse added: “Even today Mr. Fonzone still refuses to commit to not work for the CCP or national champion clients like Huawei after leaving his next stint in government.”

The Justice Department and U.S. intelligence agencies believe that Huawei and other Chinese companies are working hand in hand with the ruling Communist Party, potentially giving China's surveillance state access to hardware and networks around the world. (Read more)

- Father, open the eyes of these senators to agree with the statement, “You can't work for Huawei and then work for the Director of National Intelligence. We bind the spirits controlling and driving these bad decisions to even consider this person for the intelligence community's top lawyer!

- "Teach me to do your will, for you are my God! Let your good Spirit lead me on level ground!" (Psalm 143:10)
 6. Bipartisan bill would close 'national security loophole' exploited by Huawei - Washington Examiner

A bipartisan Senate bill would direct the Federal Communications Commission not to sign off on any applications from companies on its national security threats list, including Huawei, after one of the commissioners pushed for a bigger crackdown on Chinese Communist Party-linked companies in the United States.

The new legislation, the Secure Equipment Act of 2021, co-sponsored by Republican Sen. Marco Rubio and Democratic Sen. Ed Markey, would mandate that the FCC no longer review or approve business requests from entities on the FCC’s designated list, with the Senate offices saying this would “prevent further integration and sales” of Huawei and other Chinese state-backed firms inside the U.S. “regardless of whether federal funds are involved.”

The FCC adopted new rules last year, telling U.S. telecom carriers to “rip and replace” equipment provided by Chinese telecom giants such as Huawei and ZTE if the equipment was purchased with federal funding and banned U.S. taxpayer dollars from subsidizing this Chinese equipment, but “the very same equipment can still be used if purchased with private or non-federal government dollars” — so the proposed law “closes this national security loophole” that currently exists.

“Chinese state-directed companies like Huawei and ZTE pose a serious risk to our national security,” Rubio said Monday. “The Chinese Communist Party subsidizes these companies and exploits loopholes in our laws to allow malicious actors to sell compromised equipment and services in the U.S. The status quo is dangerous, and we need to act now to strengthen our national security and protect our critical infrastructure.” (Read more)

- Father, give us wisdom on how to protect our national security from these Chinese state-directed companies! We pray this bipartisan bill will pass!

- "So give your servant a discerning heart to govern your people and to distinguish between right and wrong. For who is able to govern this great people of yours?”      (1 Kings 3:9)

7. Lake Mead's decline points to scary water future in West - The Hill

The Hoover Dam is seeing record-low water levels, a significant and scary development with major implications for water and climate in the entire American Southwest. Amid drought conditions, Lake Mead’s level last week reached an all-time low of 1,071.56 feet above sea level, leaving it just 37 percent full. The body of water’s level has been declining since 2000, and has fallen about 140 feet over the past two decades. It comes amid a drought in the Southwest that is the worst in two decades, according to a New York Times analysis.

Long-standing water issues in the West are heightening the challenges posed by more recent effects of climate change. The Colorado River, which feeds the reservoir, is severely over-allocated, with the demand for its water exceeding the actual flow of the river, according to Kathryn Sorensen, a member of the board of advisors at the Kyl Center for Water Policy at Morrison Institute. Scientists have projected the river’s flow may diminish by up to 25 percent in the future, she noted.

Seven states are located in the river’s basin and affected by the Colorado River Compact: Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming. Experts say the overarching problem with water management in the Southwest, and these states in particular, is that existing systems are based on a climate that, because of warming, no longer exists. The compact was ratified in 1922, and policymakers, including the late Sen. John McCain, (R-Ariz.), have repeatedly called for it to be updated to reflect current circumstances.

“Mother Nature is in charge. The basin has experienced more than 20 years of drought and we continue to drain an over-allocated river system,” Sorenson added. “I don’t think anything short of a miracle can forestall a shortage declaration in August.” (Read more)

- Righteous Father, You are in complete control of the water supply over all the earth.  So we pray for a miracle from You, God, that will provide the necessary water needed in the area of these seven states.  We pray for a revival to break out now and the people turn to God for help by praying with true repentance in their hearts.  In Jesus' Name we pray.

- "Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the Lord till He come and rain righteousness upon you."     (Hosea 10:12)

8. Extreme Heat Could Knock Out Texas’ Grid - Gizmodo

Apparently, Texas’ energy grid is not only ill-equipped to handle cold weather. It’s also incapable of withstanding heat. The increasingly ironically named Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) is now asking customers to conserve electricity through Friday as hot weather grips the state (and much of the western U.S.).

Grid capacity is currently tight because it is experiencing a “significant number of forced generation outages,” the grid operator said in a Monday press release. Power plants with a combined capacity of 11,000 megawatts of power, or enough to run 2.2 million homes on a hot day, are currently offline for repairs. ERCOT plans to conduct an analysis on why so many plants aren’t functioning.

Though supply is in a dip, demand is increasing. Forecasters expect Texas temperatures to rise even further this week, and temperatures could crack the triple digits as they have on Monday. Interior parts of the state will see above-normal temperatures, including the heavily populated Dallas area. Though not nearly as extreme as the rest of the West, they could still send demand for electricity to new highs. ERCOT said it may see record-breaking electricity demand for the month of June as many residents are forced to stay home with air conditioners running on full blast.

In a last ditch effort to stave off version 2.0 of blackouts, ERCOT is asking customers to keep their thermostat at 78 degrees Fahrenheit (25.6 degrees Celsius), which seems a little balmy given the weather, as well as avoiding the use of large appliances and pool pumps. The operator also recommended unplugging anything that can be to conserve as much juice as possible. (Read more)

> > > To read ERCOT's press release on this news, go here.

- Father God, we pray that each household in Texas will comply with the needed requirements of wise use of electricity.  We pray ERCOT will keep all their power plants supplying the needed power.  We pray all Texans will pray for God to intervene each day.  We ask in Jesus' Name.

- "But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:19)

9. Project Pearl: how 20 brave Christians smuggled a million Bibles into China in one night - Christian Today

Project Pearl was an extraordinary operation to smuggle a million contraband Bibles into the country in a single night.

Forty years ago, late in the evening of 18 June 1981, a barge called Gabriella emerged from the darkness with a crew of 20 and its cargo of a million Bibles. Waiting on the shore were Chinese Christians ready to receive the Bibles and distribute them to fellow believers throughout the country.

"I remember a giant ship with no flags slowly approaching the harbour," remembers Xiao Chen*, then a teenager who was in the waiting crowd. "Everyone at the beach seemed very anxious. Then, a small rubber boat came down from the ship. I saw my elder brother rowing to the ship and speaking to a foreigner who might have been the captain."

The project's instigator was a Chinese Christian woman called Mama Kwang whose husband was in prison for his faith. Mama Kwang led a house church network they had established, and she told Open Doors they were in desperate need of Bibles. The church in China was growing but many thousands of existing Bibles had been burned during Mao's Cultural Revolution in the 1960s and 1970s.

After discussing the idea with Brother Andrew, the founder of Open Doors, the staff members were given the green light. They would reach China by sea. Everything had to be done in utmost secrecy, from the preparation to the sailing and delivery. . .  (Read more)

- Almighty God, we praise You for enabling Brother Andrew's group to distribute a million Bibles into China in one night.  Bless him abundantly and his group of 20 for risking their lives to give the Word of God to the Chinese.  Through this effort, we pray for a million souls to find Jesus as Savior and be strong in their walk with the Lord.
In Jesus' Name we pray.

- "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God."  (Philippians 4:6)

10.  ‘Historical awareness,’ ‘spirit of reconciliation’: Churches across US observe Juneteenth - The Christian Post

Churches across the United States are hosting events to celebrate Juneteenth, which celebrates the official end of slavery in the country after the American Civil War. The holiday centers on the anniversary of June 19, 1865, when Union troops entered Galveston, Texas, and implemented the Emancipation Proclamation, which was issued in 1863. Also known as Freedom Day, Jubilee Day or Liberation Day, Juneteenth holds an especial significance this year as, with strong bipartisan support, it became the first new federal holiday since Martin Luther King Jr. Day in 1983. On Thursday, President Joe Biden signed the bill making Juneteenth a national holiday.

In Princeton, New Jersey, Mt. Pisgah African Methodist Episcopal Church and Princeton United Methodist Church will be holding their first-ever joint celebration of Juneteenth. The two churches are planning to hold a cookout lunch at Community Park South Pavilions in Princeton, according to event co-chair Dana Dreibelbis. “Along with traditional goals of acknowledging and celebrating African American people and culture, we have a goal of specifically building interpersonal relationships via the fellowship,” Dreibelbis said. “This includes the notion that race relations in the U.S. will improve, in part, to the extent to which we all get to know and respect others. Simply put, putting ‘love your neighbor as yourself,’ into action. We want to build foundations for long-term, harmonious relationships." (Read more)

- Father God, we trust that You will direct each and every person in the United States to join hands and hearts to establish a solid and unified mentality between all people.  Help us individually to exert a true desire to love our neighbor as we love ourselves.  In the Name of Jesus we pray.

- "And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you."  (I Thessalonians 3:12)

Claudette turns deadly as the storm moves inland

The first named tropical system of the 2021 Atlantic hurricane season to directly impact the United States has formed. Tropical Storm Claudette formed early Saturday morning and residents along the Gulf Coast and southeastern U.S. are feeling the impacts.

Claudette turned deadly on Saturday when 10 people, nine of them being children, were killed in Alabama in a crash involving 15 vehicles, The Associated Press reported. The crash was on Interstate-65, about 35 miles south of Montgomery, Alabama.

Two additional deaths were reported as a result of Claudette on Saturday, a 24-year-old man and a 3-year-old boy, after a tree fell on their house near Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

After being named Potential Tropical Cyclone Three by the National Weather Service's National Hurricane Center (NHC) late on Thursday afternoon, the system further developed into Tropical Storm Claudette at 4 a.m. CDT, Saturday. By late Saturday afternoon, Claudette had been downgraded to a tropical depression with maximum sustained winds of 35 mph.

As of 5 p.m. EDT on Sunday, Claudette was located 80 miles west of Columbia, South Carolina, and was moving east-northeast at 17 mph.

On Saturday evening, a flash flood warning from the National Weather Service in Alabama was upgraded to "considerable," and the agency said it could be life-threatening.

"Flooding can be impossible to see at night. Move to higher ground if you live in a flood-prone area," the NWS in Birmingham, Alabama, tweeted. The NWS also confirmed that water rescues were ongoing overnight Saturday.

Several tornado warnings were issued on Saturday morning in parts of southern Alabama and the Florida panhandle as Claudette moved inland. (Accuweather.com) Read more.

Hanging from her hair in hellfire for all eternity – that was supposed to be Hedieh's punishment. What was her crime? She simply removed her head covering. But now, after 22 years in Islam, she's no longer afraid of her eternal destiny because she heard the loving voice of Jesus Christ.

"In Islam, God is not a father. God is the ultimate judge. And He sits apart from us, judging absolutely every single thing that we do," she explains.

Hedieh's parents emigrated from Iran to the U.S. in search of the American dream. They found it. Hedieh grew up among the wealth and opulence of Beverly Hills but she says it wasn't enough.

"It never was fulfilling. I felt – I actually felt really guilty about having what the world would describe as just about everything, and yet being sad. And I always wondered what was that space in my heart that made me feel empty," she recalls.

Then, one day, after 22 years in Islam, Hedieh took off her head covering. Her imams said her eternal destination was now certain. "They told me I was going to hang from my hair for an eternity in hellfire because I took my head cover off. So despite the uncertainty of not being promised salvation, because I had done this one thing to decrease my external religiosity, they said I was going to spend an eternity in hellfire, and that was unacceptable. And I left Islam. I felt really, really lost. It was devastating. It was – it was devastating. I felt that I had no bearings underneath me," she says.

Hedieh longed to have God in her life. While online, she watched a video of a Christian pastor who spoke about having a relationship with God through Jesus. She was moved and confused. Soon after she prayed a desperate prayer.

"I was on my knees. I was in ritual prayer form of Islam down with my head on the ground and just crying and saying, 'Can you please reveal yourself to me because I am so utterly confused on who you are.' And it was in one of those prayers in my bedroom that I audibly heard the voice of Christ and He said, 'Hedieh, it's Me.' And it was a – it was extraordinary. To this day I could tell you as if it happened yesterday. I knew from that moment on I would never be the same." (CBN) To read all of Hedieh's testimony, go here.

Thoughts for Repentance
God's Holy Word is meant to be put to the test. Do we trust His Word? Are we relying on our own thoughts?

The State of California is the textbook case of ignoring God's Word and mocking the Living God. As a short list, here we legislated no fault divorce, abortion, same sex marriage, gender fluidity for children, open borders, early release of criminals, gay pride month, permission to visit marijuana and liquor stores while churches were ordered shut.

The Living God, following 2 Chronicles 7:13 rightfully sent drought, forest fires, and pestilence to awaken us to return to Him.

Now we are calling for verse 14 to be activated by at least 40,000 Californians who will humble themselves, pray, seek His face, and turn from their wicked ways--- 1/10th of one percent of the 40 million Californians. We're encouraging them to practice repentance for 40 days, seeking God's Mercy.  Read More

Words: Henry Lyte
Music: William Monk

ScriptureThey urged Him strongly, Stay with us, for it is nearly evening; the day is almost over. Luke 24:29

Lyrics:
Abide with me!
Fast falls the eventide;
The darkness thickens.
Lord with me abide.
When other helpers fail,
And comforts flee,
Help of the helpless,
O abide with me!

Swift to its close
Ebbs out life’s little day;
Earth’s joys grow dim,
Its glories pass away;
Change and decay
In all around I see;
O Thou who changest not,
Abide with me!

Not a brief glance
I beg, a passing word;
But as Thou dwell’st
With Thy disciples, Lord,
Familiar, condescending,
Patient, free.
Come, not to sojourn,
But abide with me

Come not in terrors,
As the King of kings,
But kind and good,
With healing in Thy wings,
Tears for all woes,
A heart for every plea,
Come, friend of sinners,
And abide with me.

Thou on my head
In early youth didst smile;
And though rebellious
And perverse meanwhile,
Thou hast not left me,
Oft as I left Thee,
On to the close,
O Lord, abide with me!

I need Thy presence
Every passing hour.
What but Thy grace
Can foil the tempter’s power?
Who like Thyself
My guide and stay can be?
Through cloud and sunshine,
O abide with me!

I fear no foe
With Thee at hand to bless:
Ills have no weight,
And tears no bitterness.
Where is death’s sting?
Where, grave, thy victory?
I triumph still,
If Thou abide with me.

Hold Thou Thy cross
Before my closing eyes;
Shine through the gloom,
And point me to the skies;
Heav’n’s morning breaks,
And earth’s vain shadows flee:
In life, in death,
O Lord, abide with me!

About Capitol Hill Prayer Partners

Our Mission Statement

Capitol Hill Prayer Partners (CHPP) is a ministry which is positioned on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., helping members of the Body of Christ to "pray for those in authority over us" in our federal government. Our primary purpose is to offer intercession on site for the members of Congress and their staffs each day that the Senate and the House of Representatives are in session; and our chief prayer focus is that "God's will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." [Matthew 6:10].

Because Jesus Christ has shed His blood for all, we, too, pray for ALL, in a nonpartisan manner. Also, because the scriptures indicate that "the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 4:17), we are confident that fervent prayer, offered in the halls of the highest chambers of government in our land, can avail much for America. Capitol Hill Prayer Partners welcomes those who feel called to join us, engaging in this strategic work of intercession for our nation: "For there is no power but of God; the powers that be are ordained of God." [Romans 13:1]
