WASHINGTON (AP) — An internal government investigation has determined that the decision to forcibly clear racial justice protesters from an area in front of the White House last summer was not influenced by then-President Donald Trump’s plan to stage a Bible-toting photo opportunity at that spot.
The report released Wednesday by the Interior Department’s inspector general concludes that the protesters were cleared by U.S. Park Police last June 1 so that a contractor could get started installing new fencing. U.S. Park Police is a part of the Interior Department. Park Police officials had already planned to clear the area and “had begun implementing the operational plan several hours before they knew of a potential Presidential visit to the park,” Inspector General Mark Lee Greenblatt said in a statement accompanying the report.
The report determined that the decision to clear the protesters was justified, but that law enforcement agencies on the scene failed to effectively communicate with each other and failed to communicate warnings to the protesters about the impending crackdown. Several different law enforcement agencies moved ahead of schedule and started engaging with protesters before the protesters had been sufficiently warned.
The conclusions, which deny any political influence on decisions and cite fog-of-war confusion for any missteps, are likely to be dismissed as insufficient by critics of last summer’s crackdown. Lafayette Park, the Washington nexus of the last summer’s national wave of racial justice protests, is under Park Police jurisdiction; that agency falls under the Interior Department.
The new report focuses on the Park Police decision-making and its complicated interactions with various law enforcement entities, including the Secret Service and the Metropolitan Police Department. It points out that “the USPP and the Secret Service did not use a shared radio channel to communicate” and determines that “weaknesses in communication and coordination may have contributed to confusion during the operation.” (WTOP News, Washington, D.C.) Former President Donald Trump said Wednesday he had been 'Completely and Totally' exonerated when an Interior Department inspector general's report found that the U.S. Park Police had cleared protesters from Lafayette Park to install fencing - and not so Trump could walk across it for his Bible photo-op.
The report released Wednesday by the Interior Department's inspector general concludes that the protesters were cleared by U.S. Park Police last June 1 so that a contractor could get started installing new fencing.
The demonstrators were protesting the death of George Floyd, who died after Derek Chauvin police officer knelt on his neck and pinned him to the ground for about 9 1/2 minutes.
A half-hour after the protesters were forced from the area with pepper pellets and flash-bangs, Trump walked across Lafayette Park amid the lingering scent of pepper spray and delivered a short speech while holding a Bible in front of St. John's Church. (DailyMailUK) Read more.

1. Wildfires scorch hills near Jerusalem, Ariel - Jerusalem Post
Several wildfires scorched the hills near Jerusalem on Wednesday, with 10 firefighting aircraft, two helicopters and more than 70 firefighting teams operating at three main locations.
Firefighters reported that so far, at least 2,650 acres of forest has burned down around the Jerusalem area.
Firefighters plan to work into the night to continue extinguishing the fires - the largest of which is at Har Haruach - and detecting new fires as they appear using helicopter scouts.
Police ordered residents in Kibbutz Ma’aleh Hahamisha to evacuate their homes, though they were later given permission to return to their homes after that fire was reportedly contained. (Read more)

2. The Likud's final offer to Ayelet Shaked - Israel National News
With the Knesset slated to vote on the new national unity government this coming Sunday, the Likud has continued its efforts to prevent the government from being established, including a last-ditch effort to convince Yamina’s Ayelet Shaked to join the Likud.
On Tuesday, the Likud voted in favor of a proposal which would allow Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to recruit up to three people from outside of the party and grant them slots on the Likud’s Knesset slate. The move is part of a larger effort by the party to try to recruit Opposition lawmakers and foil efforts to form an alternative government.
A recent offer by the Likud to Shaked included a promise to include her on the Likud’s next Knesset slate, guaranteeing her the second spot on the list, just after Netanyahu, Kan reported Wednesday morning. (Read more)

3.Yamina’s Orbach declares he’ll back ‘change government,’ preserving its majority - Times of Israel
After spending several days on the fence amid intense pressure from both political camps, Yamina MK Nir Orbach announced Tuesday that he will back an emerging coalition — of which his party is a part — that would oust long-serving Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Orbach, whose support gives the eight-party “change government” an anticipated 61-59 majority in a Knesset confirmation vote set for Sunday, explained that his decision was difficult but necessary to break the yearslong political stalemate and prevent Israel from “falling apart.” “I chose what’s good for the country,” he said.
In response, Religious Zionism party chief Bezalel Smotrich said Orbach had broken away from the religious Zionism ideology and called him a “confused man who has lost his way.” (Read more)

4. Netanyahu, Gantz reach compromise on Jerusalem Flag March - Israel National News
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Benny Gantz have reached a compromise on the Jerusalem Flag March, which has been cancelled twice in the last two months.
Under the agreement, the march will be rescheduled for next Tuesday, June 15, in an outline to be agreed between the police and the organizers of the march.
The Prime Minister's Office stated that "Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu saw the importance of reaching a broad agreement on the march and therefore took a break at the cabinet meeting and turned to Defense Minister Benny Gantz to reach an agreement. The Prime Minister and the Minister of Defense brought to the Cabinet for approval the following decision approved by the Cabinet:" (Read more)

5. Alleged Israeli airstrike targets Syria from Lebanese airspace - Jerusalem Post
An alleged Israeli airstrike targeted Syrian territory from Lebanese airspace on Tuesday night, according to the Syrian state news agency SANA.
The airstrikes targeted sites in central and southern Syria and caused damage without causing any casualties, according to SANA. Arabic media reported that the strikes targeted sites in the Damascus and Homs areas.
According to the opposition-affiliated Halab Today TV, casualties were reported in the airstrikes. The strikes targeted the town of Sahnaya and sites belonging to the First Divison in Al-Kiswah, as well as air defense batteries and a missile battalion belonging to the 155th Brigade north of Damascus. Sites in Homs and Latakia were also targeted by the strikes, according to the report. (Read more)

1. Biden to meet with UK Prime Minister, Turkish President and other world leaders during first foreign trip - CNN
President Joe Biden will meet with United Kingdom Prime Minister Boris Johnson, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and other world leaders during his first international trip as President next week, the White House announced Thursday.
Biden will meet with Johnson on June 10, ahead of the Group of Seven summit behind held in southwestern England. Johnson is hosting this year's G7 summit, which is being held in Cornwall from June 11 to 13.
The President is also set to hold bilateral meetings with the other leaders of G7 countries -- which consists of the United Kingdom, Canada, France, Germany, Italy and Japan -- during the visit.
The President participated in a virtual G7 event earlier this year and discussed efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic. Last year's in-person summit was canceled because of the pandemic.
The summit and meetings with foreign leaders will come the week after Biden is set to announce his plans to distribute millions of coronavirus vaccines worldwide, a decision that is expected to be announced after months of deliberation. (Read more)

2. Biden warns climate change is 'greatest threat' to US security: 'This is not a joke' - Fox News
President Biden warned military servicemembers Wednesday that top Pentagon officials consider climate change to be the "greatest threat" to America’s national security in the coming years.
“When I went over to the tank in the Pentagon when I was first was elected vice president with President Obama, the military sat us down and let us know what the greatest threats facing America were, the greatest physical threats," he said. "This is not a joke. You know what the Joint Chiefs told us the greatest physical threat facing America was? Global warming.
"There will be significant population movements, fights over land, millions of people leaving places because they’re literally sinking below the sea in Indonesia, because of the fights over what is arable land anymore," he added.
Biden issued the warning during a speech to Air Force personnel stationed in the United Kingdom. The president will participate in meetings with G7 and NATO leaders this month during his first overseas trip since entering the White House. (Read more)

3. Biden’s ATF moves could turn millions of gun owners with a certain accessory into potential felons - The Blaze
Gun rights activists are pledging to fight a new rule proposed by the Biden administration that could turn millions of gun owners into potential felons. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives on Monday proposed a new regulation that would define a handgun as a short-barreled rifle if it is equipped with a stabilizing pistol brace, a popular gun accessory.
The rule would make most guns equipped with such a brace illegal under the National Firearms Act, requiring gun owners to either register, forfeit, or disassemble their weapons or else they be charged with a felony offense.
According to one government estimate, as many as 40 million gun owners could be affected by the rule change.
"[W]hen individuals use accessories to convert pistols into short-barreled rifles, they must comply with the heightened regulations on those dangerous and easily concealable weapons," the Department of Justice said in a statement. (Read more)

4. Trump’s TikTok, WeChat Actions Targeting China Revoked by Biden - Wall Street Journal
President Biden revoked executive orders targeting the Chinese-owned TikTok and WeChat apps initiated by former President Donald Trump and signed a new order requiring security reviews of these and other apps in the jurisdiction of foreign adversaries.
The order Wednesday doesn’t target any companies specifically. Instead, it directs the Commerce Department to evaluate all software applications with potential ties to foreign adversaries including China and take action to protect data on U.S. citizens gathered by the apps.
The new executive order is designed to replace the Trump administration’s approach targeting individual companies with a broader process for reviewing risks posed by apps that are connected to potentially hostile countries, according to senior Biden administration officials.
The officials say they remain concerned about security risks from Chinese and certain other foreign-owned apps but that the executive orders signed by Mr. Trump were effectively unenforceable. (Read more)

5. Senate passes sweeping China competition bill in rare bipartisan vote - Yahoo.com
The Senate voted 68-32 on Tuesday to approve a sweeping China-focused global competition bill, overcoming Republican objections that had threatened to derail the $200 billion+ bipartisan package.
Why it matters: The bill's supporters cite the measure as evidence that the deeply divided Senate can still function on a bipartisan basis, despite the last-minute chaos that forced Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) to delay final passage for weeks.
It's also a sign of the widespread consensus that has emerged around the need to outcompete China on the world stage, including by revitalizing U.S. manufacturing and research and cracking down on Beijing's economic abuses.

How we got here: The foundation of the U.S. Innovation and Competition Act is a wide-ranging bipartisan proposal from Schumer and Sen. Todd Young (R-Ind.) that would authorize new funding for the National Science Foundation (NSF) and establish a new technology directorate.
Details: The centerpiece of the legislation is $50 billion in emergency funding for the Commerce Department to boost domestic semiconductor production, in light of the global chip shortage.

6. Kamala Harris’ response to border crisis a head-scratcher: I haven’t ‘been to Europe’ either - New York Post
Vice President Kamala Harris on Tuesday snapped at an interviewer when he pressed her on why she hasn’t visited the southern border in the 76 days since President Biden put her in charge of the record-smashing illegal immigration crisis — snarking that she hasn’t “been to Europe,” either.
“At some point, you know, we are going to the border,” a defensive Harris told NBC anchor Lester Holt on “Today” in Guatemala on her first international trip since taking office — 1,308 miles away from the southern U.S.-Mexico crossing.
“ We’ve been to the border. So this whole thing about the border, we’ve been to the border,” Harris said, to which Holt replied, “You haven’t been to the border.” Harris, seeming to laugh at her own joke, responded: “And I haven’t been to Europe. 7. Keystone XL developer to pull the plug on pipeline - Washington Examiner
TC Energy, the developer of the long-contested Keystone XL oil pipeline, is pulling the plug on the project, the company announced after the Washington Examiner first reported the decision.
The decision by the Canadian company to cancel the $8 billion project comes after President Joe Biden canceled a permit for the 2,000-mile pipeline that would have delivered crude from Canada's Alberta oil sands to refineries on the Gulf Coast.
The move, part of a day-one climate change executive order, drew backlash from Republican lawmakers and even some Democrats who said the cancellation would kill thousands of construction jobs. After Biden's decision, TC Energy suspended work on the line. TC Energy confirmed Wednesday it is canceling the project. (Read more)

Terry McAuliffe captured the Democratic nomination for his old job on Tuesday, easily dispatching four party rivals to set up an expensive general election that will test how liberal Virginia has become and present the first major referendum at the ballot box on the Democratic Party under President Biden.
Mr. McAuliffe was winning more than 60 percent of the vote when The Associated Press declared him the winner less than an hour after the polls closed. 9. Virginia school board meeting explodes as members face backlash for suspension of Tanner Cross - Fox News
The dramatic meeting of the Loudon County Public Schools' board was full of mic- drop moments and testy confrontations over issues plaguing the school district. Many public commenters either backed Cross or criticized the school board over critical race theory (CRT).
"Where is your regard for our freedom of speech?" asked parent Rachel Pisani, who said she was a mother of three in Loudoun County. "When I saw a teacher express an opinion and suspended for expressing his religious beliefs, I could no longer stay silent. When did it become acceptable to be tolerant only when someone expresses a view that we agree with? When did it become appropriate to silence those that hold Christian, biblical views just because you don't? When did it become appropriate to allow the school board – I don't know who you think you are – but it is not appropriate, it is not allowable to silence, bully, or dismiss our views." (Read more)

10. George Soros Gave Billions to Left-wing Causes in Years He Paid No Federal Income Tax - Brietbart
On Tuesday, ProPublica, citing Internal Revenue Service documents, revealed that several of America’s richest people — Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, Tesla CEO Elon Musk, and Soros, among others — paid no federal income tax in certain years, as they claimed to have made net losses that offset gains.
Soros’s tax avoidance is among the most striking, since he funds a vast array of left-wing groups, which generally share the belief that the rich should be taxed more to redistribute their wealth to the poor, and to fund government programs.
Notably, however, Soros had plenty of money to donate to Democrats and left-wing causes that were organizing the so-called “Resistance” to President Donald Trump. It was in 2018 that Soros began spending millions of dollars to elect left-wing prosecutors across the nation; those contributions have helped shape nationwide efforts at criminal justice reform.
Moreover, in 2017, Soros gave a staggering $18 billion to his Open Society Foundations, which funds left-wing causes. The New York Times described it as “one of the largest transfers of wealth ever made by a private donor to a single foundation.” It may also have functioned as a tax shelter, allowing Soros to deduct money from his taxable income. Stupidocrisy: D-Day Heroes Were Antifa Fighters

As America celebrated the miraculous achievement and heroics of its troops who stormed the beaches of Normandy on D-Day, The Lincoln Project and journalists from National Public Radio, Vox, The Washington Post, and elsewhere portrayed American GIs as noble Antifa fighters seeking to end fascism. This was not a comparison. These outlets were emphatically stating that American GIs on D-Day were the original Antifa, the terrorist group that today is fomenting communist revolution in the United States and other countries. The audacity of such a claim is so vile and disrespectful that words can barely describe it. The Lincoln Project, a PAC disgraced for shielding a child predator, went even further.
Against the backdrop of film footage of our fathers and grandfathers monumental and historic D-Day achievement, is the Lincoln Project fundraising video voiceover: “Who is Antifa? They stormed the beaches of Normandy, parachuted into the French countryside, and gave their lives to face down and fight back against fascism. They took down Nazi machine gun nests, tore apart the third Reich’s strongholds, liberated concentration camps, liberated France, Italy, Belgium, Holland. Anywhere Antifa saw fascism, they fearlessly and relentlessly annihilated it. Fascism was defeated because of patriots like these, proud Americans who knew that the fight against fascists was not simply a battle between opposing nations, it was a war against inhumanity, a war that isn’t nice, but cannot be lost, a war we still fight today.”
It’s beyond belief how anyone could usurp the sacrifice of American troops in fighting for freedom by claiming they were the terrorist traitors of Antifa–the Democratic Party’s modern day brownshirts. But you know, Joe Biden didn’t even recognize D-Day. Instead, Biden patted himself on the back in a self-serving video about remembering the Tulsa Race Massacre in 1921. His press secretary Jan Psaki fumbled for words when asked why Biden snubbed D-Day remembrance, concluding, “I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s more we would have to say on it.” Since taking office, Biden has emphasized the flaws in American history over the successes and has aligned with the 1619 rewrite of history by emphasizing the importance of “systemic racism” to understanding the United States and its history.
This is how history gets rewritten with lies. The Lincoln Project and the 1619 Project twist American history for their visceral and tyrannical agendas. Sadly, children are taught them. Many adults believe them because they want to believe the bad about America. These lies are sown by politicians, educators, and those who wish to destroy everything good and right. As Proverbs 6:19 says is an abomination to the Lord, “A false witness that speaks lies, and he that sows discord among brethren.” That is their purpose. It is a sad day when a president fails to mention a harbinger of liberty accomplished by the greatest generation and his minions attempt to relabel them as modern day terrorists. Moreover, those who would believe these lies are living examples of…say it with me…stupidocrisy.

Vaccines: Alarming New Numbers Are Pouring In

Adverse vaccine reactions and deaths have jumped in the past two weeks. Instead of halting, or at least raising alarm, the push for vaccine passports is skyrocketing.
There now are rapidly growing reports of myocarditis (heart inflammation leading to irregular heartbeat and potential death) in young people who were healthy prior to taking the COVID shots.
Yet despite the alarm, vaccine passports are being pushed hard by governors, businesses, colleges, airlines, public event coordinators and even grocery stores.
Vaccine passports may begin with COVID, but they will not end there. This is the most serious threat to freedom. . .
No one should be forced to choose between work, school or serving our country and taking an experimental COVID shot that is not licensed by the Food and Drug Administration. Many students are in the last semester or two of their higher education. They cannot easily transfer to other schools at this point. They face mounting student loan debt. Their education and careers could be doomed before they even start!
We are being inundated with calls for help. Longtime employees are losing their jobs. Students are put on hold. Employees are fired while threatened that they won’t even get any unemployment. This is insane.
No matter your position on the COVID shots, we should all agree that our freedom to work, shop, dine, travel and worship must not depend on a vaccine passport from a government official or a medical dictator.

Witherspoon became president and head professor at a small Presbyterian college in New Jersey, now Princeton University. The college’s primary occupation was training ministers and students. All were required to take President Witherspoon’s moral philosophy course about ethics and “what one ought to do and why.”
He became a leading light in early American education with its emphasis on right and wrong and good character, which America’s Founders considered fundamental to sustainable freedom. Witherspoon was the only active clergyman and college president to sign the Declaration of Independence. He later signed the Articles of Confederation and supported ratification of the Constitution.
In their high regard for the importance of learning, America’s Founders deemed the Bible central to all education, in accordance with Proverbs 1:7 that “Fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge.”
Can there be any starker contrast to the mindlessly perverted ideologies of contemporary education theories?

To turn things around, every church in America should have a pastor, deacon, elder, or congregant running for local office: city council, school board, county commissioner, etc., in 2022, 2024, 2026, and thereafter. We all know too well that the Kingdom of God won’t arrive on Air Force One.
With Gideons and Rahabs beginning to stand, there is reason for optimism. Men and women of Issachar are coming to a public square near you, in anticipation of 1 Kings 18:44: “Behold, a little cloud like a man’s hand is rising from the sea.”

Well, here we go again. A bounty of Saharan dust has made its way out to sea and is currently moving through the central Atlantic Ocean. If it continues its westerly trek, it could interrupt a possible tropical storm forming off the coast of Nicaragua.
Though the storm has only a 30% chance of forming according to the five-day forecast made by the National Hurricane Center, the dust is a certainty. It’s pretty routine, in fact; last June’s transatlantic dust shipment was so huge that it blotted out the sun in Puerto Rico. Sky-blotting, storm-killing plumes of dust don’t just emerge from the Sahara. This spring, a Gobi Desert sandstorm kicked up the worst dust that Beijing had seen in a decade; Kuwait was simultaneously dealing with its own dust storms. A couple of years ago, storms in India killed over 70 people and affected over 120 million.

Manchin to oppose voting rights bill pushed by U.S. Senate colleagues

West Virginia Democratic Senator Joe Manchin, a crucial swing vote in the U.S. Senate, announced on Sunday he intends to oppose a sweeping voting rights bill backed by the majority of his fellow Democrats that would expand access to voting across the United States.
Speaking on "Fox News Sunday," Manchin said the bill, known as the For the People Act, "is the wrong piece of legislation to bring our country together and unite our country, and I'm not supporting that because I think it will divide us further."
Manchin is key to control of the U.S. Senate, which is divided equally between Democrats and Republicans. He has at times proven to be a thorn in the Biden administration's side by crossing party lines to oppose legislation or block White House appointees.
He has also continually opposed efforts to eliminate the filibuster, which would make it easier for Democrats to pass legislation. (Reuters) Read more.

I was surprised to find this in my inbox yesterday. It is from a convert of our martyr Fadir in Saudi in 2020. Fadir was a convert of Renzo serving in Yemen and then Saudi after converting Fadir when Renzo was captured. They were both rescued at that time and Fadir was eventually left alone to minister in Saudi. He managed to convert this monster who, by the power of God, was changed into a human being!
