Last Friday, it looked as if President Biden's Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona was backing down from his proposal to promote the teaching of Critical Race Theory and the 1619 Project in public schools.
The Department of Education received more than 35,000 comments from outraged patriots who recognized that Cardona’s new proposed rule would have given preferential treatment to schools who force anti-American lies on students, forcing the Department to revise the language of the rule.
&nbnbsp;
But don’t be fooled – the far Left won’t give up this fight that easy.
As conservative thought leader Stanley Kurtz asserts in an excellent piece from Breitbart News by Dr. Susan Berry, this move by Cardona is mere “window dressing” to mask continued efforts to indoctrinate students.
Kurtz goes on to explain the Biden administration’s strategy to Dr. Berry:
“In this case, Cardona has removed the high-controversy references to [The 1619 Project] and [radical Critical Race Theory writer Ibram X] Kendi, but kept the general invitation to submit proposals that favor ‘diversity.’ Nothing has happened other than removing the most controversial material in order to hide the intentions of the department. If the big civics bills pass, you can bet that the Biden Education Department will still use the money to fund Critical Race Theory.”

1. IDF attacks Hamas military camp in Gaza - Israel National News
IDF fighter jets attacked a military camp with a number of buildings, infrastructure and means used for the activities of the Hamas terrorist organization in the Gaza Strip on Sunday night. The terrorist base is located near civilian sites including a school. The attack was carried out in response to the firing of incendiary balloons into Israeli territory.
"The IDF will respond strongly to the continuation of terrorist attempts from the Gaza Strip," the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said.
Earlier on Sunday, the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories, Major General Ghasan Alyan, announced the reduction of the fishing zone in the Gaza Strip from 12 to 6 nautical miles in response to the firing of incendiary balloons from the Gaza Strip towards Israeli territory. 2. Hamas threatens a return to a military confrontation - Israel National News
Hamas is once again warning of an "explosion in the face of the Israeli occupation" if it continues taking tough measures against the Gaza Strip.
Hamas spokesman Abdel Latif Qanou said in this context that "it is not possible for the occupation to circumvent the results of the sword of Al-Quds campaign (a reference to Operation Guardian of the Walls -ed).
According to Qanou, the Palestinian people will not remain silent for long on the non-rehabilitation of the Gaza Strip and the delay in measures to lift the Israeli “siege”.

4. Former Ra’am party chief incites Muslims to protect Al-Aqsa mosque ‘with our bodies and our blood’ - World Israel News
The former head of Ra’am, the Islamist party that is part of the Bennett government coalition, said the Israeli prime minister, when calling for the right of Jews to pray on the Temple Mount, their holiest site, “tried to be a hero for the extremist wing of Israeli politics, but he soon learned that’s not a thing to play with,” i24 News reports.
Throughout Sunday last week, which was Tisha b’Av, the Hebrew date when both the First and Second Temples were destroyed, some 1,700 Jews visited the Mount, where the Temples had stood. Hamas and other Gaza-based terror organizations had issued threats, warning the Jews not to ascend the Mount, and early-morning visitors were greeted by Muslim stone-throwers.
Prime Minister Naftali Bennett thanked the police for maintaining order and managing the visits “with responsibility and consideration, while maintaining freedom of worship for Jews on the Mount.”
But the Prime Minister’s Office subsequently issued a ‘clarification’ on Monday, stating that the “status quo” remains in place, according to which Jews only have the right to visit their holiest site but not to pray there. (Read more)

5. Israel’s Lapid and Gantz said to warn US: Iran is close to nuclear threshold - Times of Israel
Israeli authorities have warned US officials in recent days that Iran is closer than ever to attaining nuclear weapons, according to the Kan public broadcaster.
Foreign Minister Yair Lapid, Defense Minister Benny Gantz and other Israeli officials have addressed the issue with their American counterparts recently, issuing an “unusual warning,” according to the Sunday report.
Nuclear talks between world powers and Iran — attended indirectly by the US — have been ongoing for months in Vienna, but have stalled in recent weeks.
“Something has to happen with the negotiations with Iran,” a senior diplomat told Kan. “This ‘limbo’ cannot be a time when Iran is quickly advancing toward becoming a nuclear threshold state.” (Read more)

1. Mike Pompeo slams Fauci: It sounds like 'he is either equivocating or worse, lying' - Fox News
Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo criticized Dr. Fauci for a lack of transparency on the United States' funding of gain-of-function research Wednesday on "Fox News Primetime."
MIKE POMPEO: This was NIH funding. It went to the Wuhan laboratory. The Wuhan laboratory was engaged in gain-of-function research. This much is crystal clear. And since I've left, we had an investigation going on, trying to document whether not only whether it came from the laboratory, but also importantly whether there was military involvement in this. This was also a bio-weapons laboratory where there was military work taking place. We came in, they shut it down, then they sent it over to the intelligence community.
They have shown no interest in finding out what happened and importantly, how we prevent something like this from happening again. I don't understand how Dr. Fauci can claim that the NIH didn't provide resources to one Wuhan that went for gain-of-function research. It sounds to me like he is either equivocating or worse, lying. 2. Appeals court blocks CDC Covid restrictions, allowing cruises to resume from Florida - NBC News
A U.S. appeals court late Friday blocked federal Covid restrictions that had vastly cut back the number of cruise ships operating from Florida's ports. The decision was a win for the state, which filed a lawsuit arguing that restrictions imposed by the Centers for Disease Control made it very difficult for the industry to get going again, after it was shut down for nearly 16 months. The decision applies only to ships leaving from or arriving at Florida ports.
Earlier Friday, lawyers for the state had asked the U.S. Supreme Court, in an emergency appeal, to block the restrictions. That request now will most likely be withdrawn, because the appeals court gave the state the legal relief it had sought. (Read more)

3. Scalise blasts 'unconscionable' DOJ move to drop Cuomo nursing home investigation - Fox News
Rep. Steve Scalise, R-La., blasted President Joe Biden’s Justice Department Friday after the DOJ announced it was dropping a civil rights probe into New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s handling of the coronavirus in nursing homes. "It is outrageous that the Department of Justice refuses to investigate the deadly ‘must admit’ orders issued by governors in New York, Pennsylvania, and Michigan that resulted in the deaths of thousands of senior citizens," the minority whip said in a statement Friday.
"Where is the justice for nursing home victims and their grieving families? These deadly orders contradicted the CDC’s guidance, and needlessly endangered the most vulnerable among us to the deadly COVID-19 virus," the Louisiana Republican added. "Even worse, Governor Cuomo in New York intentionally tried to cover up the true death toll resulting from his mandate. Grieving families deserve answers and accountability. It’s unconscionable that Biden’s Department of Justice refuses to investigate the deadly actions that went against CDC’s medical guidance taken in these states."
The DOJ told Republican lawmakers Friday that it will not pursue an investigation into the Cuomo nursing home scandal but a separate investigation by federal prosecutors into the matter will continue. Cuomo has been widely criticized by both sides of the aisle for his handling of the coronavirus pandemic in regards to nursing homes and his critics have suggested his order mandating nursing homes to accept infected patients last year caused at least 1,000 deaths. Additionally, critics say Cuomo officials repeatedly attempted to play down the total number of nursing home deaths. Cuomo has been accused of withholding key data for political purposes. (Read more)

It is unfathomable that these actions by Cuomo are not being investigated by the DOJ, and it appears Cuomo is getting a pass. 4. Outbreaks of a drug-resistant superbug fungus spread in two U.S. cities, CDC reports - CBS News
Outbreaks of a drug-resistant "superbug" fungus spread among patients in hospitals and long-term care facilities in Dallas, Texas and Washington, D.C., the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported Thursday. The fungus, Candida auris, preys on people with weakened immune systems. The CDC said evidence suggests these cases involved person-to-person transmission, which would be a first for the U.S. The clusters in the two cities appear to be unrelated to each other, the report said. The 30-day mortality in both outbreaks combined was 30%, although other health conditions may also have played a role.
Candida auris, which was first seen in the U.S. in 2013, is "resistant to multiple anti-fungal drugs that we have, and it's also resistant to all the things that we use to eradicate bacteria and fungal strains in the hospital," Dr. Neeta Ogden, an internal medicine specialist, told CBS News in 2019 after health officials issued a warning about the emerging threat.
Of 101 cases of the fungus identified in Washington, D.C., from January to April 2021, three were isolated as being resistant to all three major classes of anti-fungal medications. Those cases occurred at a long-term care facility for severely ill patients. There were 22 cases identified in Texas during the same period, with two being resistant to all three anti-fungal medications, and five resistant to two of the medications. Those seven cases were found in patients at two acute care hospitals, one long-term and one short-term; two of the patients were treated at both hospitals.
"This is really the first time we've started seeing clustering of resistance" in which patients seemed to be getting the infections from other patients, said the CDC's Dr. Meghan Lyman, an author of the report. (Read more)

5. Psaki insists Biden not pushing critical race theory, says curriculum left to local schools - Fox News
White House press secretary Jen Psaki insisted Thursday that the Biden administration is not pushing critical race theory in schools after it promoted a radical activist group’s handbook in its official reopening guidance, which she said was in "error." The Department of Education (DOE) had linked to the Abolitionist Teaching Network’s "Guide for Racial Justice & Abolitionist Social and Emotional Learning" in its handbook intended as a "roadmap" for schools to reopen safely during the coronavirus pandemic.
The group’s guide claimed that social and emotional learning (SEL) "can be a covert form of policing used to punish, criminalize, and control Black, Brown, and Indigenous children and communities to adhere to White norms," and that "[m]ost SEL standards are rooted in Eurocentric norms, not to empower, love, affirm, or free Black, Brown, or Indigenous children."
DOE issued a statement Wednesday distancing itself from the group and blaming an "error" for the guide’s inclusion in its handbook. "The Department does not endorse the recommendations of this group, nor do they reflect our policy positions," the statement read. "It was an error in a lengthy document to include this citation." 6. Critical race theory to face first major political test in Virginia - Fox News
Virginia has, for years, been viewed as turning blue, but the recent debate over critical race theory (CRT) has led some to believe Democrats' longstanding lead could fall into the red. The stark contrast between candidates in this year's gubernatorial race and the off-year nature of the election offer a unique opportunity to glean potential impacts of the controversy.
Former Gov. Terry McAuliffe, who is seeking the job again after holding it from 2014-2018, has largely ignored the issue, at one point stating that it was a "conspiracy" concocted by Republicans. Meanwhile, Republican Glenn Youngkin has made anti-CRT advocacy a prominent part of his campaign.
"Virginians are waking up and mobilizing against Critical Race Theory and its defenders like Terry McAuliffe," Youngkin spokesperson Macaulay Porter told Fox News. "Virginians know Terry doesn't have the best interests of parents, teachers, and students in mind. He dismisses their concerns as a right-wing conspiracy, and is more focused on pushing his political agenda on our schools than anything else. What Terry doesn't realize is that this issue crosses party lines. The people of Virginia are speaking out against his radical agenda and will do the same at the ballot boxes this fall." (Read more)

7. House Freedom Caucus asks McCarthy to try to remove Pelosi as speaker - POLITCO
The conservative House Freedom Caucus is urging Kevin McCarthy to try to boot Nancy Pelosi from her position as speaker, a sign of further escalating tensions after the California Democrat vetoed two of the House Minority Leader’s GOP picks from the Jan. 6 select committee. In a letter Friday, the group asked McCarthy to file and bring up a privileged motion by July 31 “to vacate the chair and end Nancy Pelosi’s authoritarian reign as Speaker of the House.”
“Speaker Pelosi’s tenure is destroying the House of Representatives and our ability to faithfully represent the people we are here to serve,” they write. “Republicans, under your leadership, must show the American people that we will act to protect our ability to represent their interests.”
The motion is all but guaranteed to fail in the Democratic House, but it signals a stewing anger on the right towards the speaker. The Freedom Caucus’ letter indicates that McCarthy would need to initiate the motion, and if he were to do so, it would further escalate partisan acrimony in the House that has remained high, and occasionally gotten personal, since Jan. 6. They argue that Pelosi’s decision to reject Reps. Jim Banks (R-Ind.) and Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) from the panel was “intolerable.” Pelosi, meanwhile, says she made the right call blocking the two Trump allies because of their “antics” in the months following the deadly insurrection.
The group, which signed the letter simply as “House Freedom Caucus,” cited a series of other grievances against Pelosi that they argue represent “unconstitutional changes," such as proxy voting, “insulting security measures like metal detectors,” and her decision to kick a member of the minority — Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) — off her committees over dangerous conspiracy remarks and social media posts she made before serving in Congress. (Read more)

8. Pelosi's bishop says speaker 'epitome of hypocrisy' after her claims to be 'devout Catholic' - Just the News
The prelate who oversees House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's home diocese is accusing her of hypocrisy for claiming to be a "devout Catholic" while announcing her support of publicly funded abortion. Pelosi this week claimed that repealing the Hyde Amendment – a longtime provision outlawing federal funding of abortion in most cases – is "the right thing to do." Abortion supporters view a repeal of that federal measure as a key step to securing widespread federal funding of abortion procedures.
At a press conference on Thursday, Pelosi referenced her faith in justifying her desire to have the federal government fund the abortion of unborn humans. s"As a devout Catholic and mother of five in six years, I feel that God blessed my husband and me with our beautiful family, five children, and six years almost to the day," she said. "But it's not up to me to dictate that that's what other people should do. And it's an issue of fairness and justice for poor women in our country."
In a sharply worded statement following Pelosi's remarks, San Francisco Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone stated that "no one can claim to be a devout Catholic and condone the killing of innocent human life, let alone have the government pay for it. . . The right to life is a fundamental – the most fundamental – human right, and Catholics do not oppose fundamental human rights," Cordileone continued. "To use the smokescreen of abortion as an issue of health and fairness to poor women is the epitome of hypocrisy: what about the health of the baby being killed? What about giving poor women real choice, so they are supported in choosing life?"
Cordileone in the statement praised Catholics who he said were operating facilities such as "pro-life crisis pregnancy clinics. To them I say: 'You are the ones worthy to call yourselves devout Catholics!' " he said in the statement.
The Catholic Church in its Catechism strongly prohibits abortion, going so far as to level the penalty of excommunication on those who procure one. (Read more)

9. Virginia Churches and Ministries Try to Protect Their Religious Freedom from LGBTQ Law, Judge Says 'No' - CBN
The question: Are churches and ministries continuing to have difficulty from a new Virginia state law that bans employment discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity? A county judge last week answered: No.
JustTheNews.com reports at a Friday hearing, Loudoun County Circuit Judge James Plowman directed a question to the attorney representing Calvary Road Baptist Church, Community Fellowship Church, Community Christian Academy, and pro-life ministry Care Net. "Is there an actual controversy here?" Plowman asked. He said the plaintiffs had made "speculative claims" about how the Virginia Values Act would be enforced.
Denise Harle, senior counsel for the Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) told the judge her clients are being forced into self-censorship fearing they'll otherwise be crushed by the harsh punishments created by the law, according to Just the News. The ministries had engaged in undisputed self-censorship and chilled speech, past and ongoing, in response to the crippling financial penalties available under the law," responded Harle.
"They have removed religious beliefs on "biblical marriage," sexuality, and gender that presumably violate the law from their own websites, she said, adding: "That alone is enough" for the plaintiffs to show they have standing to bring an "ordinary pre-enforcement challenge seeking a declaration of what the law means." 10. California's Dixie Fire explodes to 'megafire' status as western wildfires continue to rage - USA Today
California's huge Dixie Fire exploded to "megafire" status late Thursday, forcing more mandatory evacuations in nearby communities, fire officials said Friday. At more than 221 square miles in size, it's now the largest wildfire in California.
"The Dixie Fire is burning in a remote area with limited access, and extended travel times in steep terrain are hampering control efforts," Cal Fire said in a statement. The "fire will continue to rapidly expand, causing a need for the critical resources to control and manage the incident." Shannon Prather, the incident commander for the Dixie Fire, said Thursday evening that "this fire is outpacing us at moments."
It is the second megafire in the state this year. A blaze becomes a megafire when it surpasses 100,000 acres, which is about 156 square miles. Days ago, the 105,000-acre Sugar Fire in Butte County garnered the designation, KTLA-TV said. Another California fire, the Tamarack Fire near Lake Tahoe, had burned more than 78 square miles of national forest as of early Friday. The fire has destroyed at least 10 buildings.
Also reported:
· At more than 142,000 acres in size, the Dixie Fire is now the largest wildfire in California.
· Crews were making progress in the fight against the nation's largest fire, the Bootleg Fire.
· Almost 22,000 wildland firefighters and support personnel are assigned to incidents across the country. (Read more)

Can anybody believe that the Cleveland Indians, a storied and cherished baseball franchise since taking the name in 1915, are changing their name to the Guardians? Such a disgrace, and I guarantee that the people who are most angry about it are the many Indians of our Country. Wouldn’t it be an honor to have a team named the Cleveland Indians, and wouldn’t it be disrespectful to rip that name and logo off of those jerseys? The people of Cleveland cannot be thrilled and I, as a FORMER baseball fan, cannot believe things such as this are happening. A small group of people, with absolutely crazy ideas and policies, is forcing these changes to destroy our culture and heritage. At some point, the people will not take it anymore!

Florida man in bubble-like vessel
washes up on beach, sheriff says

A Florida man washed ashore inside a bubble-like vessel on Saturday morning after an apparent attempt to walk on water.
Flagler County deputies responded to calls from concerned citizens who spotted a strange vessel on the beach in the Hammock area, the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office said. The vessel’s sole occupant was discovered safe inside without any injuries.
He told authorities that he had set off for New York from the St. Augustine area before encountering "complications" that brought him back to shore, the sheriff’s office said.
The seafarer, identified as Reza Baluchi of Central Florida, told FOX35 Orlando he was attempting to run in his floating "bubble" vessel from Florida to Bermuda, or travel north up the coast, to raise money for charity. Read More

'Wonderfully, Crazy Movement of Prayer': Thousands Gathering at 'Heart of America' to Pray for the Nation

Thousands of people from across the country will be gathering for a time of strategic prayer for God to heal our land and bring revival and restoration.
Doug Small of Project Pray and America's Prayer Meeting is helping to coordinate the national prayer event.
During an interview with CBN News, Small shared how the idea for the prayer rally was born out of a time of intercessory prayer almost 30 years ago. "An intercessor said, 'I saw a black X across the nation. And I asked the Lord, 'Are You finished,' and the Lord said, 'That's gunpowder. I'm laying gunpowder across the nation. And then a spark hit the center and then the US looked like the Bonanza map,'" Small explained.
He hopes that the spark of prayer in the geographic center of the nation will spread. "The mission is to start public prayer meetings," Small explained. "What we're doing here, we hope will happen all across the nation. "There will be a map of the US drawn on the ground so you can symbolically prayer walk the US." "I hope that between January and July 2022 that this will happen in every state, at the center of every state," he added. "And then every county and every city until we have a wild, wonderfully crazy movement of prayer and repentance. Our only hope, our only hope is a great awakening." (Read more)

Every four years or so my wife Laurie and I watch the opening session of the Olympics. We watched it again last night. It's more New Age/ Demonic than ever. Having come out of the New Age 30 years ago to repent and find Jesus as Lord, my radar hones in on the ploys of the enemy pretty quick. John Lennon's "Imagine" is the humanist/ planetary anthem, full of lies, including "imagine there's no heaven; there's no hell." Pure lies from satan!
The TRUTH is clearly expressed by John the Baptist in Matthew 3: 11-12: " I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I'm not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.
