House Democrats Block Bipartisan Bill Declassifying COVID-19 Origins
|
|
House Democrats blocked consideration of legislation that would require the U.S. Director of National Intelligence to declassify information and data related to the origins of the COVID-19 pandemic and that namely targeted what role the Wuhan Institute of Virology played in the outbreak.
In May, the Senate Republican-backed COVID-19 Origin Act was passed unanimously in the Senate. Rep. Michael Burgess (R-Texas) brought the Senate bill to the House floor on Tuesday night before Democrats voted it down.
“The best disinfectant is sunlight and that’s what we can provide today,” Rep. Brad Wenstrup (R-Ohio), who helped bring the bill to the House floor, said of the proposal. “The bill first establishes that we must identify the precise origins of COVID-19 because it is critical for preventing a similar pandemic in the future.”
Wenstrup said that the measure is “not controversial by any means” and noted that “not one senator objected” to the legislation when it was up for consideration in the Senate in May.
According to the text of the bill, identifying the origin of COVID-19, caused by the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus, is crucial in preventing a similar pandemic in the future from occurring. The bill also noted that Director-General of the World Health Organization Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus even acknowledged in March that more investigation into the theory the virus leaked from a laboratory in Wuhan, China, is warranted.
Rep. Darin LaHood (R-Ill.), another co-sponsor, said Tuesday that the purpose of the bill would require the Director of National Intelligence’s office to declassify “any potential links between the Wuhan Institute of Virology” and COVID-19. In a tweet, LaHood said Democrats blocked their request.

1. Israeli jets said to strike inside Syria for second time in days - Times of Israel
Israeli planes carried out airstrikes against targets in Syria for the second night this week, Damascus said early Thursday.
The state-run SANA broadcaster reported that Syrian air defenses were confronted “Israeli aggression” in the skies near Homs in western Syria, near the Lebanese border.
It said Israeli jets fired missiles from off the coast north of Beirut — not far from the city’s port, according to Lebanese reports — at targets in al-Qusayr, a town near Homs, just after 1 a.m. (Read more)

2. Bennett: 'Vaccine refusers endanger us all' - Israel National News
Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett excoriated unvaccinated Israelis Thursday, calling them a health threat and a danger to the Israeli economy.
In a televised address Thursday night, Bennett called on all unvaccinated Israelis over the age of 12 to get the COVID shot immediately, and suggested the vaccinated to pressure their unvaccinated friends and relatives to get the jab.
Speaking hours after the Coronavirus Cabinet reimposed the Green Pass system, limiting entry to public venues to the vaccinated and recovered COVID patients, Bennett blasted unvaccinated Israelis, accusing them of endangering the health of vaccinated people, as well as their personal liberties.
“Our challenge is clear: All Israelis who can get vaccinated need to go get vaccinated. Every citizen over the age of 18 who doesn’t have a medical reason preventing him from doing so, go get vaccinated!” (Read more)

3. Israel to Reimpose Coronavirus ‘Green Pass’ as Delta Variant Hits - Algemeiner
Israel announced plans on Thursday to allow only people who are deemed immune to COVID-19 or have recently tested negative to enter some public spaces such as restaurants, gyms and synagogues after a surge in coronavirus cases.
The government had removed most coronavirus restrictions after a rapid vaccination drive that pushed down infections and deaths.
The easing of restrictions included dropping a “Green Pass” program that had allowed only people who had been vaccinated or recovered from COVID-19 to enter some public spaces.
But some measures have already been reinstated, including wearing protective masks indoors and tighter entry requirements for incoming travelers, because of the rapid spread of the more infectious Delta variant of the coronavirus. (Read more)

4. After almost 20 years, Israel rejoins African Union - World Israel News
For the first time since 2002, Israel has rejoined the African Union, a significant diplomatic achievement.
Aleligne Admasu, Israeli Ambassador to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, submitted his charter as an observer to the African Union on Thursday.
The African Union, “for an integrated, prosperous and peaceful Africa,” is the largest and most important organization in the African continent and its members are all the 55 countries of the African continent.
Foreign Minister Yair Lapid stated that “this is a holiday for Israel-Africa relations. It will help us strengthen our activities vis-à-vis the continent and vis-à-vis the member states of the organization.” (Read more)

5. IDF captures two suspects who crossed into Israel from Lebanon - YNET News
The IDF on Thursday captured two suspects who crossed into Israel from Lebanon following a massive manhunt near the border area.
The military said that around 2am it had observed two people entering along the northern frontier.
Efforts included deploying additional forces to the area and blocking off roads to cut off any escape. Soldiers used flares to light up the night sky and IAF helicopters were scrambled. The IDF blocked off several roads between the Biranit military base and Kibutz Sasa, as well as another road between the Baram archeological site and Kibbutz Baram. (Read more)

1. Non-Profit Sues HHS to Immediately Stop Emergency Use Authorization of COVID-19 Vaccines – The Epoch Times
America’s Frontline Doctors—a nonprofit organization—filed a motion on July 19 seeking immediate injunctive relief to stop the emergency use authorization (EUA) of COVID-19 vaccines for three groups of Americans: anyone under 18 years old, anyone recovered from COVID-19, and those who haven’t received informed consent as defined by federal law.
The motion was filed against Xavier Becerra, Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), and other defendants in a federal district court in the Northern District of Alabama.
“The emergency declaration and its multiple renewals are illegal,” the complaint alleges. According to the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, when the Secretary of HHS declares that an emergency use is appropriate, the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) may then authorize unapproved use or EUA of the vaccines. 2. Biden Administration Greenlights Putin Pipeline – Washington Free Beacon
The Biden administration will drop opposition to Nord Stream 2, a controversial gas pipeline that will help Russian president Vladimir Putin gain influence in Europe, the Wall Street Journal reports.
The United States and Germany struck an agreement that will allow the completion of the pipeline, which will transport gas directly from Russia to Germany. Details of the deal could be released as early as Wednesday, according to the Journal. The Trump administration vigorously opposed the project, and Congress passed laws in 2019 and 2020 that required sanctions against companies helping to build the 764-mile pipeline. But the Biden administration waived the sanctions in May, effectively allowing the pipeline to be completed. (Read more)

3. Facebook, White House Colluding on Censorship: Lawsuit – The Epoch Times
Facebook is censoring Americans at the behest of President Joe Biden’s administration in violation of the First Amendment, a new lawsuit alleges.As evidence of the collusion, the class-action complaint quotes White House press secretary Jen Psaki’s recent admission that the administration is “flagging problematic posts for Facebook that spread disinformation.”
“When she said that they were working with Big Tech then it changes everything because then it’s the government censoring, so that obviously can’t stand,” Richard Rogalinski, the plaintiff, told The Epoch Times.
Rogalinski made several posts about COVID-19 this year, including on April 6 remarking how he has seen data showing masks do not prevent the spread of the virus that causes the disease.He has seen those posts appended with statements directing people to articles by so-called fact-checkers. 4. Appeals Court Agrees to Review Decision on Big Tech’s 230 Immunity – The Epoch Times
A little-watched civil rights case that threatens Silicon Valley’s Section 230 immunity moved forward on July 16, as an appeals court agreed to review a lower court’s decision.
The U.S. Appeals Court for the 2nd Circuit in New York agreed to review a lower court’s ruling that Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act (CDA) protects big tech companies such as Vimeo from civil rights liability in censorship cases.
Big tech censorship became a hot button issue during the 2020 presidential campaign when then-President Donald Trump was selectively censored by Twitter, YouTube, and Facebook.The controversy became especially heated late in the campaign when a New York Post series of news articles regarding the allegedly corrupt business dealings of President Joe Biden’s son Hunter was banned by the big tech giants. 5. Biden Claims His Spending Plans Will Reduce Inflation, Drawing Conservative Backlash – The Epoch Times
President Joe Biden on Wednesday acknowledged near-term inflation while insisting it would not be problem in the long run, arguing also that trillions of dollars more in proposed infrastructure and social safety net spending would drive down inflation, sparking conservative backlash.
Speaking at a televised town hall in Cincinnati on Wednesday, Biden said that, “there will be near-term inflation” as the economy continues to bounce back from its pandemic lows but insisted price pressures would taper going forward.

6. I’m Running for Governor of Michigan: Detroit’s Ex-Police Chief – The Epoch Times
Former Detroit Police Chief James Craig, a Republican, on Wednesday announced that he plans to run for governor, adding that he has formed a gubernatorial “exploratory committee” to allow him to begin raising and spending funds.On Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” Craig reiterated his plan to form an “exploratory committee” but also said in his interview: “I’m running,” and later, “we’re going to take the state back.”
In a campaign style video the former police chief announced, “I’m opening an exploratory committee to help me think about a run for governor for the state of Michigan. This is about leading from the front, keeping people safe, which is a core responsibility, solving problems, that’s what Michigan needs.”He added, “I led as chief of police—and began my life—on the streets of Detroit. Now, it is time to travel the state and visit other communities.”
Taking aim at Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, who is running for reelection in 2022, Craig said that he’ll be “talking with law enforcement, hosting small business roundtables, and meeting with voters in their homes to hear about the negative impact the current governor’s policies are having on their communities, their workplaces and their families.” (Read more)

7. Pennsylvania Decertifies County’s Voting System: Cites Violation of Election Code – Zerohedge
Pennsylvania’s top election official has decertified the voting system of rural Fulton County for future elections, saying that an election assessment by a third party had violated the Keystone State’s election code, according to a release on Wednesday.
Wake Technology Services Inc. (Wake TSI), a software company based in West Chester, Pennsylvania, had carried out an election assessment that involved its workers visiting Fulton County in December 2020 and in early February.
The company in May released a report that concluded the election was “well-run” and did not indicate any signs of fraud in Fulton County. However, five “issues of note” were uncovered, three of which are related to Dominion Voting Systems, whose electronic voting system was used in the county for the 2020 election.
“While these may seem minor, the impact on an election can be huge,” Wake TSI said of the five issues. At the time, Dominion disputed the report’s findings. (Read more)

Nearly 30,000 men attended the 2021 Promise Keepers Men's Conference last weekend in Dallas, Texas with hundreds of churches hosting even more men online.

Top government epidemiologist Dr. Anthony Fauci and Sen. Rand Paul traded accusations of "lying" about gain-of-function research at a Tuesday Senate hearing, continuing the long-running feud between the National Institute for Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) director and the Kentucky senator.
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director Rochelle Walensky was also asked about continued health measures like mask mandates on public transportation and vaccine mandates for school children.
In his questioning of Fauci, Paul stepped close to the line of accusing Fauci of lying to Congress in previous testimony in which he said that the NIAID had never funded gain-of-function research in China. Citing a paper on research about bat coronaviruses, Paul said that U.S. money had essentially gone to the hazardous and controversial research – an assertion Fauci strongly objected to.

Against the backdrop of Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) threatening to prefer a criminal investigation against COVID czar Dr. Anthony Fauci for lying to Congress, there are many questions remaining about COVID 19, the vaccine, and what is safe. The landscape is complicated daily with all the information that comes out—most of it conflicting. For example, last week it was reported by the Centers for Disease Control that COVID vaccine deaths outpaced COVID deaths. Now CDC is saying that the COVID 19 vaccine deaths of 12,313, up from 6,079 was in error. A CDC spokeswoman told The Epoch Times, “So someone doing an update misrepresented that or made a mistake, in other words.” This is no small thing.
The Epoch Times quoted the CDC spokeswoman saying, “It is double what it was yesterday and so it definitely is incorrect. We checked our stats internally and it’s only 6,000. So someone doing an update misrepresented that or made a mistake, in other words…We caught it this morning ourselves and noticed that it had doubled suddenly.” The spokeswoman was unable to say when the error would be fixed. “It’s being worked out,” she said.” If the CDC can’t get its vaccine statistics correct, especially in an environment where people are so edgy about everything COVID, who can be trusted to provide correct and reliable information? From our kids to our soldiers, "Critical Race Theory" (CRT) is being forced down Americans' throats. CRT is rooted in Marxist class warfare. It divides people by skin color, claims America was founded on racism and advocates the overthrow of virtually every legal construct in the nation, including the Constitution.
A bill was just introduced in Congress to block federal funds from going to any group that pushes this racist theory. A few states have blocked CRT, but many more have taken no action or have seen their actions stall out.
It is urgently important to demand that state and federal leaders stop CRT in our schools and the military. Make your voice heard today through your faxes to demand an end to tax-funded "CRT education." — Mat

Critical Race Theory is rooted in godless Marxist ideology. Its goal is to break a nation into segments by race and then overturn existing social structures to make them conform to CRT's view that culture is always a clash between "oppressors and the oppressed."
Although not often expressed, CRT is by nature anti-Christian, as are all Marxist precepts.
A current bill in the U.S. Congress states that "A Federal entity may not grant Federal funds to any entity that teaches or advances any of the following:
- Any race is inherently superior or inferior to any other race.
- The United States is a fundamentally racist country.
- The Declaration of Independence or the United States Constitution are fundamentally racist documents.
- An individual's moral worth is determined by his or her race.
- An individual, by virtue of his or her race, is inherently racist or oppressive, whether consciously or unconsciously.
- An individual, because of his or her race, bears responsibility for the actions committed by members of his or her race."
It is sad that our nation has fallen to the level that a bill like this is necessary on both federal and state levels. But it is!
On Feb. 3, 2021, Joe Biden's defense secretary, Lloyd Austin, ordered a 60-day stand-down to "identify and combat the presence of extremism within our ranks." Now we know the stand-down was used to force CRT on everyone in the military.
On June 10, Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) questioned Austin after reports of "plummeting morale, growing mistrust between the races and the sexes where none existed [in the military] just six months ago." These reports were based on several hundred "complaints about Pentagon extremist and diversity training" pushing Marxism and socialism in the military.
This must stop! Our military is not an involuntary social experiment. Its purpose is to defend our nation. To divide the military based on race or ideology is a severe threat to national security.
Three bills have been introduced in the U.S. House and Senate to stop CRT.
We must turn back the destructive CRT agenda. Fax members of Congress to stop CRT.

There are two urgent reasons we must prove there was election fraud. We ignore them to our own peril and there is a great danger that we will ignore them.
Here is a painful fact about war: The most important moment for any army usually comes when they are totally exhausted. We are at that moment, and we are exhausted.
They called us to action, again and again. The most vicious and determined enemy we have ever faced has drained us repeatedly. They are protecting the most insidious crime in modern history, and Federal government agencies lead the cover up.
No wonder we are tired! They have bitterly rebuffed every investigation. Courts ridicule the evidence. They label anyone who dares to speak out about the fraud is labeled a conspiracy theorist. And they face a withering assault.
The endless calls to action exhaust us. We are tired right when our important moment has arrived!
What is our important moment? The answer is Arizona, where the first domino has fallen! We have the evidence. It is overwhelming. It could lead to victories in other states―but only if we do not grow weary in well doing!
Is America about to see the exposure of the greatest deception ever in our political history? Only if we stir ourselves, yet one more time, in our holy cause. But we can lose the war. Because we are emotionally spent. And now you must see the facts.
Here are two overlooked facts about election fraud that will awaken a fresh urgency in you:
1. Trump will not run again, unless fraud is exposed.
2. If fraud is not exposed, Democrats will do it again.
Fraud must be proven, here and now.

Love looks like something.
In a cultural climate that is wrought with spiritual oppression, broken spirits, politically charged tensions and socially immoral messages, the love of Christ to transcend trouble and transform hearts is of greatest need.
Love looks like Jesus.
While the natural response to these unignorable issues we encounter everyday would be to escape, God is calling his church to engage. With a heart of compassion, God is seeking a church that will carry his gospel in our mouths and his love in our hands and feet. Love isn’t telling someone what you know, it’s giving someone what they need; thereby introducing them to ‘who’ we know…Jesus. . . .

Chinese city inundated with a year's worth of rain in just 4 days

Dramatic rescues have been taking place across parts of central China this week after record-setting rainfall turned streets and subways into raging rivers, and AccuWeather meteorologists warn that rain and thunderstorms will continue in the coming days.
As of Wednesday night, local time, at least 33 people deaths were being blamed on the flooding, which occurred after days of heavy rainfall swamped cities across the Henan province in east-central China, The Associated Press reported.
Rain that first arrived across this portion of central China on Sunday continued at times through Tuesday, dumping record-breaking rainfall over the province.
Soldiers were deployed to divert rivers and pump floodwaters after flood prevention systems were overwhelmed across Zhengzhou, the capital city of Henan, situated along the Yellow River, and neighboring cities, the BBC reported. Read More

Haitian turmoil increases hunger for Gospel, Christian workers say

THOMAZEAU, Haiti (BP) — Near anarchy in Haiti surrounding the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse has escalated the risk of starvation but has also increased a hunger for the Gospel in some areas, according to Christian workers in the country.
“Persecution in whatever form typically produces faith. And it’s interesting, with the lack of persecution sometimes faith is a little weak,” said David Vanderpool, a surgeon who leads LiveBeyond, a Gospel, medical and humanitarian group established in Thomazeau, Haiti in 2013. “There’s a lot of dismay because of the assassination, but there’s a lot of hope because they know Who is in control.”
Elsewhere in Haiti, an International Mission Board worker said a church where he ministers was overflowing Sunday (July 11), days after the July 7 assassination in Petion-Ville. Baptist Press is not disclosing the IMB worker’s identity to protect his safety.
“This is when people start asking the big questions,” the IMB worker said. “In our experience, these times open people to hearing the Gospel and responding. Our church was packed this past Sunday. It varies by area.” (Baptist Press) Read more.
