Focus on Israel

1. Nationwide curfew expected before Passover, Israel's infections climb to 8,611 - World Israel News

Coronavirus infection numbers in Israel continued their steep rise Monday although the pace of those seriously ill fell slightly.

In its regular morning release of statistics, the Ministry of Health reported 8,611 Israelis have been confirmed to be infected with the virus. Of the 763 people hospitalized for treatment 141 are in serious condition and 107 of them are connected to ventilators to assist their breathing.

To date, 51 Israelis have died from coronavirus complications while 585 people have fully recovered.

Concerned about the constantly growing number of confirmed cases, officials moved to impose closures on several cities and large neighborhoods of the capital city Jerusalem.

A government declaration of "restricted areas" included the cities of Ashkelon and Tiberias as well as several predominantly ultra-Orthodox towns and 15 religious neighborhoods of Jerusalem, which are among the most highly infected areas of the city.

Police are expected to be deployed to enforce the restrictions on movement, and the army will send in troops to help distribute food door-to-door.

2. Netanyahu to enact further restrictions across Israel on Seder night - Jerusalem Post

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has cancelled Monday's ministerial committee at which the government was expected to roll out restrictions on at least another eight cities and 15 neighborhoods and will instead place further restrictions on the whole country on Seder night, according to a report by Kann news.

The move comes despite recommendations by the Health Ministry, according to Kann.

Earlier in the day, Interior Minister Arye Deri told Channel 12 on Sunday that a full lockdown is being considered for Passover Eve and the first day of the Passover holiday.

"We want everyone do the Seder night with the family that lives with them now, without movement of families," Deri said, a statement that was later reiterated by Prof. Itamar Grotto, Health Ministry deputy director-general.

3. BDS Leader Admits He Would Not Boycott Israeli Coronavirus Cure - United With Israel

Omar Barghouti, co-founder of the BDS movement, said in a video on Sunday on Facebook that if Israel discovers a cure for coronavirus (COVID-19), then cooperation with the Jewish state is acceptable.

"If Israel finds a cure for cancer or for a virus, then there is no problem to cooperate with it," said Barghouti.

The BDS leader also said that if Israel were to find a cure for cancer, for example, then there would be no problem to work with Israel to save millions of lives.

"But I believe that we are not yet in the stage that we need Israel in an urgent way, and it isn't like anyone else can save us but Israel. If that was indeed the case, then saving lives is more important than anything else," he said.

"Under the excuse of fighting the coronavirus, we must not have a 'honeymoon' with Israel," he continued, adding that it is acceptable to get medical equipment from the Jewish state since cooperation in this way "is not considered as normalization."

However, Barghouti criticized the Palestinian Authority for not "stop[ping] security cooperation with Israel."

4. Hezbollah leader said close to Soleimani is killed in south Lebanon - reports - Times of Israel

Hezbollah leader Ali Mohammed Younis was reportedly assassinated in southern Lebanon overnight.

A Lebanese report cited by Channel 13 news says his body was found by the side of a road with stab and gunshot wounds.

According to reports, Younis was responsible for "tracking collaborators" and was a close associate of Qassem Soleimani, a commander of Iran's elite Quds Force who was killed in a US airstrike in January.

5. Gantz tells Rivlin he'll likely request extension of mandate to form government - Times of Israel

Blue and White chairman Benny Gantz said Sunday that he will likely seek an extension of his mandate to form a government, which will expire over the Passover holiday.

He informed President Reuven Rivlin of his intention during a phone call, Blue and White said in a statement. Rivlin said he would consider the request, if filed, in light of the circumstances Gantz will present as the April 13 deadline gets closer, according to the statement.

1. Boris Johnson moved to hospital's intensive-care unit after coronavirus symptoms worsen, spokesman says - Fox News

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson was moved to the intensive-care unit of St. Thomas' Hospital in London after his coronavirus symptoms got worse, a spokesman told Fox News on Monday.

Johnson's office said the 55-year-old prime minister has been conscious and did not need ventilation. He asked Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab to deputize for him, the spokesman said.

"Over the course of this afternoon, the condition of the prime minister has worsened and, on the advice of his medical team, he has been moved to the intensive care unit at the hospital," the spokesman added. "The PM is receiving excellent care, and thanks all [National Health Service] staff for their hard work and dedication." (Read more)

- Father God, we continue to come against this vicious disease in Your Name. We bind this attack with the Blood of Jesus, and we command the enemy to stand down. Thank You, Father God, for the millions of intercessors who are interceding, even now, on behalf of the life of UK Prime Minister, Boris Johnson. Amen.

"He sent out his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave." (Psalm 107:20)

- Lord, we pray for the life of the UK Prime Minister, and ask that You heal him. May the correct medication be given, may he feel and know Your Presence at this time.

"Who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases."
(Psalm 103:3)

2. Surgeon general warns this week will be 'our Pearl Harbor moment' as coronavirus death toll rises- Fox News

U.S. Surgeon General Vice Admiral Jerome Adams issued a dire warning Sunday to Americans as the coronavirus outbreak has yet to hit its expected peak, but did offer a glimmer of hope in terms of when the situation could improve and how.

Adams looked at the trajectories of the virus in China and Italy - both significantly ahead of the U.S. - and the exponential rise in American cases, predicting that the worst is about to come.

"Well, it's tragically fitting that we're talking at the beginning of Holy Week because this is going to be the hardest and the saddest week of most Americans' lives, quite frankly," Adams told "Fox News Sunday," comparing it to historic national tragedies. "This is going to be our Pearl Harbor moment, our 9/11 moment, only it's not going to be localized. It's going to be happening all over the country. And I want America to understand that."

Adams then explained that despite what has happened in China and Italy, American individuals and government officials "have a power to change the trajectory of this epidemic." He pointed to how an aggressive response can mean that an end could be in sight in the coming weeks.

"And so, I want Americans to understand that, as hard as this week is going to be, there is a light at the end of the tunnel if everyone does their part for the next 30 days," he said, referring specifically to Washington and California, which have seen improvements.(Read more)

- Lord, as our leaders try to prepare us for the worst, we will rely on Your report rather than man. We ask that You reveal Your power in the midst of this pandemic, drawing people to Yourself, and healing lives across the world.

"Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?" (Isaiah 53:1)

3. New York has first daily drop in coronavirus deaths, Cuomo announces, as military heads to NYC - Fox News

New York state has seen its first drop in daily coronavirus deaths, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Sunday -- as the U.S. Northern Command said it would deploy a combined total of 1,000 Air Force and Navy medical providers to the New York City area to support relief efforts in the next three days. Cuomo said New York also experienced a slight drop in intensive care admissions and the number of patients who need breathing tubes inserted. The hospital discharge rate is "way up" he said, calling it "great news." "You could argue that you are seeing a plateauing," Cuomo told reporters on Sunday, as he revealed that the state had reported 594 new coronavirus deaths -- down from the 630 reported on Saturday and the 562 on Friday. At least 4,159 people have died in the state so far, with approximately 122,000 total positive cases. (Read more)

- Father, as bad as it has been in New York, this is a small spot of good news. We continue to bind and rebuke this virus, and stand in the gap for those who are affected by it.

"So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it, but I found no one." (Ezekiel 22:23)

4. Dow pops over 1,600 points on coronavirus slowdown, new stimulus hopes - Fox News

U.S. equity markets soared late Monday on chatter that a new round of fiscal stimulus valued at $1.5 trillion could come by mid-May, as reported by FOX Business' Charlie Gasparino.

The report fueled a late-day surge that added to the strong gains that developed early in the session after new data showed COVID-19 could be slowing in some of the hardest-hit areas.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 1,627 points or 7.7 percent, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite were higher by 7 percent and 7.3 percent, respectively. It was the third-largest point gain for each. (Read more)

- Father God, we thank You that, even as we sit back and watch as the markets go up and down, we fix our hope upon You to be our supply. We do ask that the markets would stabilize soon, and that peace and calm would be restored to our economy as it does. Amen.

- "For in him we live and move and have our being." (Acts 17:28)

5. White House sends protective gear to NYPD in 'Operation Blue Bloods' - New York Post

White House officials sprung into action on Monday after receiving an "SOS" email from the NYPD begging for protective equipment - delivering the frontline gear just 16 hours later, The Post has learned.

In a mission dubbed "Operation Blue Bloods," President Donald Trump's equipment czar Peter Navarro, Assistant to the President for Trade and Manufacturing Policy, cobbled together a rapid-response team including company executives who flew thousands of full-body suits on a private plane the next day. More than 6,000 gallons of hand sanitizer donated by alcohol company Pernod Ricard were also rushed from Arizona by a UPS trucker in 48 hours.

With a mounting number of bodies left in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak, reports have emerged of homicide detectives being forced to make house calls without the correct protective equipment - potentially exposing them to the virus.

A desperate email from NYPD Chief of Department Terence Monahan asking for gear to protect Big Apple Finest - of whom more than 1,400 have tested positive for COVID-19 - landed in Navarro's inbox on Monday, he said. (Read more)

- Lord, we thank You for this plan to help the police officers who are on the front lines of this disaster. We pray Your mighty hand of protection over all officers across the nation, in New York and beyond.

"He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings shall you take refuge."(Psalm 91:4a)

6. Trump goes after brokers shipping vital medical gear overseas during coronavirus crisis - Washington Examiner

President Trump is to use wartime powers to crack down on the export of vital medical gear as officials try to ensure that health workers have the equipment they need to battle the coronavirus pandemic.

Provision of gloves, respirators, and ventilators has become a source of anger for health workers on the front lines of what Trump has described as a war against an invisible enemy.

While the administration has tried to ramp up production of equipment such as ventilators, officials on Thursday set their sights on brokers they said were preventing hospitals benefiting and who were shipping supplies out of the country.

During his regular coronavirus briefing on Thursday, Trump moved to ensure that manufacturers have the components needed for respirators.

- Father, we pray for You to assist the brokers and companies to prepare enough medical equipment for the United States. We are acutely aware that other nations also need the supplies, so we pray for a solid solution to this dilemma.

"It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man." (Psalm 118:8)

7. Trump Fires Michael Atkinson, Intel IG Who Revealed Ukraine Whistleblower Complaint - Breitbart

President Donald Trump sent notice to Congress on Friday that he is removing from office Inspector General Michael Atkinson, the official responsible for the whistleblower complaint that alleged Trump's communications with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky involved impeachable offenses.

"This is to advise that I am exercising my power as President to remove from office the Inspector General of the Intelligence Community," the letters to the House and Senate Intelligence Committees said. "It is vital that I have the fullest confidence in the appointees serving as Inspectors General," the letters said. "That is no longer the case with regard to this Inspector General."

The letter also said the order takes effect in 30 days. The complaint eventually led to Trump's impeachment in the House and acquittal in the Senate. (Read more)

- Lord, we pray Your mighty protection over the President as he continues to remove deep state personnel from the hidden places of the government.

"For the Lord is a God of justice; blessed are those who wait for Him."
(Isaiah 30:18c)

8. Fourth Circuit blocks Trump admin. rule banning abortion clinics from receiving Title X funding - Christian Post

The U.S. Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals rejected the Trump administration's motion to stay a federal judge's order blocking a new rule that bans Planned Parenthood and other clinics that receive Title X family planning funding from referring patients for or providing abortions.

The Fourth Circuit denied the administration's motion to stay an injunction issued in February by Judge Richard D. Bennett blocking the Department of Health and Human Services' "Protect Life" rule finalized last year from being enforced in the state of Maryland. "I am convinced this case presents an extraordinary circumstance," Judge Stephanie Thacker, an Obama appointee, wrote in a concurring opinion.

"The final agency rule at issue here has forced Planned Parenthood, Baltimore, and numerous states to withdraw from the Title X program. The short-term nature of pregnancy, the brief window for obtaining a legal abortion, and the imminent harm to the city of Baltimore and its resident's counsel in favor of expedited, initial en banc consideration." (Read more)

- Father, we ask that this ruling be appealed and quickly. The greatest "harm" is not to the abortion providers, but to the innocent babies.

"Rise up, O Judge of the earth; render punishment to the proud." (Psalm 94:2)

9. Russia's Oil Wars Took A Big American Victim. Here's What Trump Is Doing To Help Big Oil - Daily Caller

One of the largest shale drillers in the country filed for bankruptcy recently as the oil and gas industry deals with a one-two punch of coronavirus fears and Russia's continued war against U.S. energy producers.

Whiting Petroleum became the first giant shale company to slide into bankruptcy Wednesday as many energy producers meet debt obligations and an oil war between the world's largest energy producers. Whiting sought chapter 11 protection in Texas amid the strife.

Prices fell into the $30s as the Saudis pushed for a cut in output to prop up prices, while Russia is working to infuse the market with hundreds of thousands of barrels of oil. Moscow is worried that the U.S. will use shale oil to take advantage if Saudi Arabia ease off production. Bankruptcies are expected to increase as crude production increases while demand plummets, according to Buddy Clark, a co-chair at international corporate law firm Haynes & Boone.

"It's a dire situation for everyone," Clark told the Wall Street Journal Thursday, noting that even bankruptcy courts are under pressure as bankruptcy cases explode. "It's a weird dynamic, but people will want to get into bankruptcy quickly in order to beat the rush." (Read more)

- Lord, You are aware of all things that are happening in our troubled times. We ask that heavenly wisdom be given to our President on how to deal with the difficulties facing the oil companies.

"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you." (Isaiah 43:2)

10. China Appointed To UN Human Rights Panel To Help Identify Threats To Free Speech - Daily Wire

Even as questions persist as to how China handled its own coronavirus pandemic - including whether the Chinese government effectively silenced doctors and nurses who spoke out in the early days of the virus' spread - the United Nations has reportedly appointed China to serve on a UN Human Rights panel designed to help identify threats to the freedom of speech, and governments who are carrying out "enforced disappearances" and "arbitrary detention."

International news reports that China's appointment came Wednesday, just as countries like the United States began to probe deeper into how the novel coronavirus, COVID-19, was allowed to spread so quickly inside mainland China, and whether China's reported death count - just over 2,500 - from the virus was, indeed, accurate. (Read more)

- Father, the UN Human Rights Council has a history of placing nations on it that are extreme violators of the policies. We take authority over the actions of these council members and declare them to be null and void. We pray for truth and peace to replace the falsehoods and evil of those nations.

"I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them." (Ezekiel 36:27)

11. Report: Zoom Admits Some Video Calls Were Routed Through China - Breitbart

According to a recent report, video conferencing app Zoom has admitted that some Zoom video conferencing calls were routed through China. According to the researchers that discovered the routing problem, Chinese authorities could demand that Zoom turn over any encryption keys on its servers in China in order to decrypt the contents of video calls.

TechCrunch reports that the video conferencing app Zoom has admitted that some Zoom calls were routed through China just hours after a report on the issue from security researchers at Citizen Lab.

Breitbart News recently reported that the CEO of the video conferencing company has apologized in a blog post over the various security issues that its 200 million daily users are facing on the platform. CEO Eric Yuan announced a number of measures that the company is taking to make the app more secure as millions of Americans use the app to work and study from home.

Breitbart News covered the criticism of the company over its lack of action on "Zoom bombing" this week. Zoom's usage has exploded since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic in January as many worldwide are forced to work or attend school from home, using the app for group meetings and online classes. In the blog post, Yuan stated that usage had increased by 1,900 percent with 200 million daily free and paying users in March up from 10 million at the end of December. (Read more)

- Father, let all technology that has a Chinese footprint be shown for what it is, and revamped to protect American interests. We ask for more and more revelation of all hidden secrets.

"Therefore do not fear them. For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, and hidden that will not be known." (Matthew 10:26)

12. 'We'll meet again': Queen Elizabeth invokes WW2 spirit to defeat coronavirus - Reuters
Queen Elizabeth told the British people on Sunday that they would overcome the coronavirus outbreak if they stayed resolute in the face of lockdown and self-isolation, invoking the spirit of World War Two in an extremely rare broadcast to the nation.

In what was only the fifth televised address of her 68-year reign, Elizabeth called upon Britons to show the resolve of their forbears and demonstrate they were as strong as generations of the past.

"We will meet again", she pointedly said in a direct reference to the most famous British song from the war years of the 1940s, when she was a teenager. "Better days will return."

"Together we are tackling this disease, and I want to reassure you that if we remain united and resolute, then we will overcome it," the 93-year-old monarch said in the address from her Windsor Castle home where she is staying with her husband Prince Philip, 98.

"While we have faced challenges before, this one is different. This time we join with all nations across the globe in a common endeavour, using the great advances of science and our instinctive compassion to heal. We will succeed - and that success will belong to every one of us."  (Read more)

- Father, we thank You for the Queen of England who, at the age of 93, still rallies her people in their time of need. We call upon our own roots out of England now, and we join forces with that nation as we fight this hidden enemy together, until we have gained the victory!

"Fight the good fight of the faith." (I Timothy 6:12a)

Gaps are important and so is gap standing

Gaps are important. Ancient military strategy had people who would stand in the gaps to defend a position. In football, the gaps between the center, guard, tackle and end are lettered A, B, C, and D respectively. From a defensive position, plays are called to penetrate or control certain gaps, and the offense is required to protect the gaps. A double A-gap blitz, for example, is two additional defensive rushers on both sides of the center. It requires a double team on one side and an extra blocker in the backfield for the offense to defend the A gaps. In other words, extra players are needed to protect the gaps or the play most likely will fail. Similarly, in society there are gaps that also must be protected for people to succeed.

Gaps also are noted in the Bible. Psalm 106:23 speaks of the Israelites forgetting the works of their savior in Egypt by tempting God in the wilderness, saying, "Therefore he said that he would destroy them, had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach to turn away his wrath, lest he destroy them." Speaking of the time of the end in Isaiah 63:5, the word of the Lord came, "And I looked, and there was none to help; and I wondered that there was none to uphold." In Ezekiel 22, the Lord is lamenting the sins of Jerusalem and how the prophets have conspired to devour souls. In verse 30, He says, "And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none." Christians using this verse often leave off the part about finding none.

Standing in the gap in football or a military battle shows alignment with the will of the coach, or commander. Standing in the gap is a form of intercession. Whether it be by prayer or by action or, preferably, both, when we stand in the gap for the land before the Lord, it shows the Lord that we care about the things that he cares about. When our will and God's will align, God is then moved of the importance that we are interceding and working toward His will being accomplished. When our intercession and God's will align, a spiritual force is often released. As in Isaiah 59:16 where there was no justice or truth and the righteous were a prey to evil, the Lord's arm brought salvation.

Are you one who stands in the gap? When you stand in the gap, you inspire others around you. When you stand in the gap, the Lord sees your heart and is moved by His mercy and compassion. If you are a farmer, you are standing in the gap. If you are a first responder, you are standing in the gap. If you are a health care provider, you are standing in the gap. If you are an encourager, you are standing in the gap. If you are a grocery store clerk, you are standing in the gap. If you help those in need, you are standing in the gap. If you love your neighbor as yourself, you are standing in the gap. If you pray and act, you are standing in the gap. Gaps are important during this time in our nation and around the world. Fill them with your love, kindness, prayer, and action. Be a gap-stander!

Holy Week: Day Three

Holy Week: Day Three

Tuesday, April 7, 2020

READ: 1 CORINTHIANS 15:22-28

Who looks forward to turning on the news these days? All we seem to hear about are problems. People are losing jobs and savings. A person can get depressed listening to it all, and many people are fearful.

If you are facing hardship during these tough times, my heart goes out to you. Life isn't always fair or easy. You may feel you do not know where to turn. But one of the Bible's greatest truths is this: God never abandons us when life becomes difficult. He is always with us and wants to help us, even when things seem to be going wrong. He does not guarantee to reverse every misfortune, but if Christ lives in our hearts, we have His promise that nothing "in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 8:39).

What a guarantee! Instead of being fearful about the future, this Easter we can trust and believe that God is working a purpose in our lives. We can have hope!

Despite troubles and bad news, are you able to rejoice in the Gospel-the Good News of your salvation in Christ Jesus?

The Pandemic Is Turning the Natural World Upside Down

Widespread social-distancing measures have produced some jarring effects across land, air, and sea.

But the response to the pandemic has unwittingly produced some other large-scale, though less conspicuous, effects. In a bittersweet twist, the surreal slowdown of life as we know it has presented researchers with a rare opportunity to study the modern world under some truly bizarre conditions, and they're scrambling to collect as much data as they can. Here are four ways the pandemic is being felt across land, air, and sea.

'Faith Not Fear': Crosses Are Popping Up across Georgia Counties

[CBN News] A new Facebook page is spreading "faith not fear" across one Georgia county, and its members are using crosses to remind people to have faith during the COVID-19 pandemic which has changed daily life in America for the time being.

At the time of the publication of this article, the page had more than 2,100 members and is growing.

Mary Spence Hurst, the administrator of the page, told CBN News in an email that she created the page, which was modeled after another page in Jefferson County created by Susan Polhill. Polhill's page currently has more than 7,600 members.

Hurst said the people in Emanuel County have been very receptive to the idea of the crosses.

"The community has come out in force to support this idea," she noted. "I think we all need reminders that God is the ultimate healer during this time."

Reading the Bible Together

WELCOME TO OUR BIBLE READATHON!

"For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD as the waters cover the sea." (Habakkuk 2:14)

> > > Reading the Word of God over our nation, six nights per week!! ALL NIGHT LONG!

We are now reading the Word of God every night (except on Sunday mornings) from midnight to 6:00 a.m. EDT. We are reading through the whole Word, from Genesis to Revelation, and beginning again in Genesis when finished. [As of this writing, over the past three years, we have now "read through" the entire Word of God sixty-five times, nonstop. Hallelujah!]

Our numbers of readers continues to grow over time. All are welcome to join, as we use "the weapons of OUR warfare" to confront our enemy and BRING HIM DOWN through the LOVE of our Messiah and, by faith, setting captives free!

Our conference number is: 712-432-0075. The access code is: 206425#.

Please call at any time from midnight to 6:00 a.m. EST!
EVERYONE IS WELCOME TO JOIN OUR "WARFARE IN THE NIGHT", USING THE WEAPON OF HIS WARFARE - THE WORD OF GOD!

"For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart." (Hebrews 4:12)

> > > A footnote: 2020 has been declared "the Year of the Bible."

Hallelujah!!

Please join us as, together, we "soak the very atmosphere of our nation" in the WORD OF GOD!

In closing, let us decree together that . . .

"Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." (Psalm 119:105)

AMEN!!

Reminder!

Our conference number is: 712-432-0075.
The access code is: 206425#.

And . . . once again . . . welcome!

Time to Repent

Time to Repent!

"So the people came to Moses and said, "We have sinned because we have spoken against LORD and you; intercede with the LORD, that He may remove the serpents from us." And Moses interceded with the LORD. Then the LORD said to Moses, "Make a fiery serpent and set it on a standard; and it shall come about, that everyone who is bitten, when he looks at it shall be healed." (Numbers 21:7)
